Gregor the Overlander fanfiction?! Gregor the Overlander mention!?!?! Tbh it's been so long since I've read it I barely remember it. After Hunger Games' success they need to make a Gregor the Overlander adaptation.

GREGOR THE OVERLANDER WAS SO IMPORTANT TO ME friend I was OBSESSED.

I very genuinely wrote a letter to Disney as a 10 year old asking them to make an adaption and consider casting my new baby nephew and me as a gender-reversed Gregor and Boots I shit you not. I refuse to be embarassed by that, it wasn't cringe, baby me was just That Fucking Into It and wanted to share it with the world lol

My first fanfic was Code of Claw post-series fix-it fic written on a legal pad my mom gave me to use when I was bored silly partway through a day of errands. Complete with fanart of Gregor climbing into a sewer drain and all.

Frankly your excitement bouncing off of my excitement is making me think I need to read it again too, it's been so long. At my peak I could chant every prophecy in the books and tap and scratch messages to myself in code bc I had for some reason memorized the whole Tree of Transmission better than I ever managed to memorize Morse Code.

I'm so overjoyed to talk with someone who was also in love with that series. I completely agree that they need to make a Gregor the Overlander adaption, but also I'm 100% sure they NEED to animate it and never, ever, EVER fucking do a live show. I don't think there's any way to capture the depth and scale of the world/creatures and the differences between adult and kid perspectives of what's going on in the Underland and a lot of the unique features into live action stuff without weakening it, and for me, I felt as a kid like these books were the first and only series for KIDS (not teens) that really really made me feel known as a kid-who-knew-adults-in-charge-can-lie-and-be-bad-sometimes AND as a kid-who-still-defaults-to-believing-the-best-anyway and how those intersect.

I feel like The Underland Chronicles, Ender's Game, and The Hunger Games all are in a specific category of story and boy is that category important. The Gregor books additionally take kids more seriously than any of the others, which was extra cool.

After many years simming in my corner, I finally decided to step out of my comfort zone and share my pixel babies with the simblr/tumblr sphere!

I started playing sims with the first opus when I was pretty tiny, and couldn't stop ever since. This game allows my creativity and inner world to express like no other game would, and that's what I love so much about it.

I created many different worlds, kingdoms and stories, but the one I enjoy the most is my One Piece save I started a year ago. It is the first time I am really eager to leave CAS to actually play the game!

Back in 2015 I've been introduced to the manga/anime universe and I never went back! It truly was a revelation, and a revolution in my own stories. But when I discovered One Piece, all of a sudden I was hooked. This universe is so colorful and deep at the same time, it is the safe place I go whenever I feel down, and it never fails me. It may sound silly but I can't explain how warm it makes me feel. Especially Luffy's vibe and laugh, he's so precious.

So last year when I had to stop working because of bad health issues, my last two brain cells met and said to each other "hey, why not One Piece sims?", and that was it, I began this crazy journey of looking for the perfect OP custom content for the perfect OP babies, being disappointed of not finding many or really old ones...and that is when, after weeks and weeks of research, I decided to create my own One Piece custom content, because, why not?!

I never touched Blender (and a year later I still feel such a newbie with it) nor Photoshop before, but it didn't stop me to throw myself into it and man, despite all the crying seeing my creations in game unexpectedly float in the air or be filled with "???" in CAS and such, I can say that I don't regret anything!

I can sing on stage, write songs or dance, but can I properly draw? No, I cannot. And I've been frustrated for so long since I wanted to do fanarts for my fandoms but I tried, aaand it was bad. Like, really really bad. Fortunately simming is now one of my places of expression, and I'm SO EXCITED about my lil creations & stories.

My wish is to grow a small community of One Piece fans and/or fellow simmers with whom I could share my passions and enjoy theirs. I know you guys are out there, and I love you already!!

I’ve recently got to the end of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and I’ve really enjoyed going through your blog. The way you show Genshin with little Kazuma and Klint with little Barok is so endearing! Your art shows a good mix of the heartbreaking angst and the heartwarming fluff. The fem vox is the title I gave one of my drawning after saving it for the first time at 1am, after 2h of work haha. It is a fanart of @/blackblood-tonic's desighn. I just saw it and could not resist trying to draw it with my own little take on it (Of course I asked for permission first!). I am planning on posting it by the end of the week ^^

Blank one is kinda.. let's say lost media at this point hahah! The idea began in 2021. Because It doesn't have any title and although I KNOW that I wrote the first chapter, I have no clue where to find it. All that remains is VERY detailed step by step plan for 19 chapters of SBI in the Spiderwick Chronicles world (great book, would recommend 10/10).

It is esentiallyabout a family whose car broke down in the middle of the woods. Trying to fix it they are attacked by invisible monsters who chase them towards an isolated, rundown cabin. The lonely resident, being merely a teenager, relucantly let's them stay a few nights until their injuries get better (accidentally bonding with the strangers) as he helps the father fix the car without risking being eaten. Hunters' train of thoughts was abrubtly interruped by random witch turning corner just as he was about to do the same resulting in two people getting scattered on the floor. He slowly opened eyes, holding his forehead before noticing random pot with some kind of flower inside falling from the air right at his face.

Hi! Making a little introduction for my blog <3 it’s just a WIP but it got accidentally published without me noticing so I’m not gonna delete it haha I’ll keep updating it when I’m less sleepy

You can call me Ruby. I’m 19 years old, I use she/her pronouns and I’m a lesbian. I’m also neurodivergent (though for privacy reasons I won’t be indicating what I have exactly). I speak both Spanish and English (with Spanish being my native tongue). I love Hazbin Hotel and this blog is entirely dedicated to this show that has taken over my life. I watched the pilot in the summer of 2020 so I’ve been here for a long while, but I didn’t get properly obsessed until the show released :)

As one could have imagined seeing my blog and username, I love chaggie so much, they're my favourite part of the show (as characters and as a ship). I do love the rest of the show too, they’re just my faves

My favorite characters are, in order: Vaggie, Charlie (top 2 and almost in the same rank really), Emily, Lute (my other two faves, almost in the same rank once again), Velvette, Carmilla, Rosie, Niffty and sir Pentious. That being said, I like almost every character. Though I mainly talk about Charlie and Vaggie because #brainrot, you may expect any other character too, specially the aforementioned.

Chaggie is my absolute OTP and around 90% of my posts will be about them. Some pairings I also love are emilute (the fanarts, fanfics and parallels to chaggie convinced me of this one), huskerdust (they’ll be canon some day, trust me), past fallenwings (I heavily support the idea of Vaggie and Lute being exes that ended horribly >:) though I enjoy many interpretations of their relationship because it's so unspecified anything could fit really), royalhalo (I prefer them as parallels/besties, but I can enjoy some cute fanarts/fanfics of them too), guitarspear (idk if platonic or romantic though, I just find their friendship so entertaining despite Adam’s blatant misogyny), velmilla (once again, it was the fanarts and fanfics that sold me on this one), zestmilla (once again, unsure of whether I see them as best friends or a couple, but they're so nice to each other <3), poly!!Vees (listen, idk if they'd be partners or friends, but their dynamic is one of the most entertaining things ever), platonic radiorose (they’re the besties ever) and cherrisnake (they're cutiess).

I tend to tag absolutely every character and ship I post/reblog about, so if anything here makes you uncomfortable don't hesitate to blacklist it :) I also assume that if you've watched Hazbin Hotel you'll be okay with things that are slightly suggestive or sexual but since I understand some people are kinda uncomfortable with it I try to tag some stuff as "cw suggestive". Well hello there! 😳I'm sorry this answer took so long!

I guess we're being cringe on main, on cringe dot com. You're not the only person who came out of the woodwork after I made this post, so I've decided to answer these very thoughtful questions publicly.

Name: Violet

She's my PC (/Storyteller's "player" NPC? We'll see how much I end up playing vs Storytelling) for a projected v5 chronicle (set in a LA by Night inspired timeline on the premise of "what if the Camarilla stayed in charge?") who's quickly blossomed into an OC that gives me brainrot and cuteness aggression. Go look at some fanart I commissioned of her, I can't recommend my friend's artwork enough.

Clan: Tremere (surprise, surprise...)

Gender, Pronouns, Etc.: Cisgender, she/her, demisexual, bi/pan, and ambiamorous (could be happy in either polyamory or monogamy, depending on the person and the relationship dynamic).

Drive in life (and unlife): Poor baby is a people pleaser. First and foremost at the outset of her story she's driven by external validation, being reassured that she's doing the right thing and being perceived as likeable. The latter is not easy to achieve when interacting with non-Tremere, but she's a little ray of moonlight with decent social stats. She's going to do her best. This predisposition was mentally beaten into her while she was alive, and she carries it over into her unlife as well. After she's gotten to have some character development and trauma healing, "people pleasing" will be replaced by self discovery and a thirst for knowledge (she is a Tremere after all) as her main motivators. Both of these, especially the latter, are already very present in her character from the beginning.

Biggest struggle with being a vampire: the expectations. She's only a baby "hello, neonate" but she's of a horrifyingly low generation due to her sire being an elder, and her sire expects her to (un)live up to his legacy... in time. He's very strict and upfront about these expectations, but he has the patience of one who thinks in terms of centuries. So despite how afraid of disappointing him she is, he's quite forgiving with her beneath his stoic demeanor. To him there's no rush, her potential is there and it must be nurtured at it's own pace. There's also the expectations of other Kindred - due to her sire's position in the Camarilla, she has a lot of eyes on her and she's terrified of not meeting expectations. People pleaser, remember?

Oh, and the Second Inquisition. That sucks too.

Inconceivable and unwanted infatuation feelings: oh has she ever. Without going into excruciating detail, this sums up her whole relationship with her sire. Blood bonds work in mysterious ways, you know? (Though she would still be in love with him anyway without the blood bond at this point.) This is highly unprofessional and inconvenient and she wishes often that it would go away because she worries that being so flustered around him will annoy him; he has to know how she feels, and he's never made the slightest indication of reciprocating. He must not be interested. (Or is he...?)

Who would have thought that the man who was once adamant that the past had to die—violently, if necessary—would turn out to be so fussy about tradition? 

Some of them puzzle Rey. Such as his insistence on chronicling their travels using ink and parchment. No matter how much she points out how much simpler it would be on a data pad, he merely smiles at her and goes back to his antiquated tools.  In another, kinder life, Ben might have been a scholar, with his ink-stained fingers and brow.

Some of them she adores—like his habit of braiding her hair each morning. Although he has taught her the different styles and their meanings, she enjoys it purely for the feel of his hands in her hair every morning. It is soothing, a sense of belonging. 

(Of course, it often becomes a prelude for his hands, and eventually his lips, to find purchase elsewhere on her body, until her sweat-slicked skin is pressed to his and they tumble into their bed.

Or to the floor.

Or the cockpit.

Or against the nearest wall.)

He has lots of little habits—from the scientific precision and ceremony of his tea making, to only drinking from a cup or mug held in his right hand—all of which he maintains aretradition. 

Tradition or quirks, Rey doesn’t really mind; for all of them are so fundamentally Ben.

The Werewolf of Chandrilla Primary

Speechless indeed are the pupils of Miss Holdo's primary one class when Ben Solo walks into their Hallowe'en party, unrecognisable beneath layers of latex, fake fur and costume make-up, including fangs dripping with fake blood. Their silence lasts about thirty seconds, before Snap bursts into tears, and the other children erupt into whispers.

Miss Holdo shuffles Snap to the corner, and Ben feels his heart sink. Perhaps the fake blood had been a touch over the top…

Ben had been so proud of his costume earlier, his chest puffed out like a peacock as they had walked to school. He had even allowed Chewie to take dozens of photos, which he had promised would hold pride of place on his workshop walls. This was going to be the best Hallowe'en ever. 

But now, as the other children whisper and recoil from him (with even Poe and Hux look green around the gills), Ben wishes he'd let Chewie buy the pumpkin costume after all.

He retreats to the corner and tries not to cry.

listen i sped read through the entire vampire chronicles including the vampire armand and blood & gold when i was 13-years-old in 2004. i searched deep into the web for the fanart and fic. i have been waiting for this tv series for over ten years. i'm less than a half hour in and this is the best adaptation ever made 😭😭😭😭

Negativity: the tag I use when complaining about stuff. I try to keep my blog fun and light hearted so it’s nothing super upsetting, but if you don’t want that this is the tag to blacklist

Undescribed: I try to add image descriptions to all posts with gifs or images, but sometimes I don’t have time or aren’t sure how to describe something, in which case they get this tag so I can easily come back to it later. Things like bingos, “get to know my ship” templates or videos are never described because I simply do not know how to format them in a sensible way. If you use a screen reader and would like for me to add a description to a specific image let me know and I’ll try to prioritize that post! Anons are on if that makes you more comfortable

Hey tumblr user @jesibeii, I couldn't heeeeelp but notice we miiiight have gotten off on the wrong foot concerning fandom and interaction and I just, you know, I was turning over what you said in my head for a while and I realized I wanted to come over and offer some brownies

I realized that I was being what the kids call "An Asshole" in my tags but I also wanted to at least provide some context on the matter, since you know when the poll came onto lawn I wasn't really in the frame of mind to give an entire dissertation on interactivity and contribution on the silly and cursed land that is fandom TM.

Sooo if you'll allow me, and honestly if you don't that's fine too, you can take the brownies and run. I just wanted to earnestly and kindly reach across the isle and examine some concepts.

Just know that in the end of this entire pop up ted talk I'm juggling in my arms with the plate of brownies, that I agree with you:

Fandom has no room for cops. You get to enjoy and do whatever the fuck you want in it. I did not, and do not ever want that to change. Even if the landscape becomes something I don't recognize.

This is gonna get uh, long in the tooth, so I'm just gonna imagine you have one of those lovely porch swings with some bright yellow pillows.

Comfy? Good good ok cool so I'm gonna use your fandom as a springboard because WHOO BOY did BNHA used to be my Jam for a while!

My favorite character is Shinso by the way! I was up to the Chisaki arc in the anime but eventually dropped off, and I was up to chapter uuuh, 350-ish in the manga??? It gets a little blurry from my memory and I'll admit I got a little Tired towards the end before I dropped off there too.

So I think we're on the same page when it comes to passive interaction when it comes to fan-made art! You don't have to have even a remote understanding of the original context to want to enjoy the transformative works that people make

Anyways I wanted to at least start off saying that I do agree in that you don't have to Go Here to enjoy the things fandom creates.

I myself had a laughable amount of Omori fanart before I ever realized there was a game.

And I think I would have been pretty irritated if someone told me that I couldn't look at it or enjoy it for it's composition or color use or emotional resonance because I hadn't sat down to play the game.

You're right, I would be irked as fuck if I went to a public library to read The Chronicles of Narnia and someone griped at me the whole time that I wasn't reading the Bibble

Here's where I get a little confused, and again, PLEASE keep in mind, it is a silly place here, fandom, and my confusion is not condemnation.

Lets say, again using BNHA as the core example here, that I found a fic for Denki/Deku. The person who wrote it made Denki into this really complex and nuanced character. In the fic they mentioned that him and his father had a falling out, mostly because his father was worried that with a kid like him, and his poor grades, he would never be able to cut it at UA.

Deku and him bond over the fact that both of their parents worry for the right reasons about their attendance at UA, and there's even a bit of a grit between the two of them because Denki can't match up to Deku's raw talent, even if he keeps hurting himself over and over for the lack of control, that he wants to prove he can be just as useful, and they have to learn how to navigate that together. Maybe Denki comes to defend Deku more when his quirk hurts him and understands where that comes from given the fact his own causes his brain to short after he pushes himself too hard.

Man there's an ENTIRE chapter dedicated to Denki showing off his lightning points and how he can throw his electricity even further, and Deku gets inspired by the concept, maybe altering his costume altogether to help launch rebar polls to launch off of to move faster in combat!

And I'm enthralled by this, I think that Denki is the best character and I'm so thrilled to get to know this character in canon!

Only to find out he has like, maybe 2 major arcs and is kind of just a gag character.

Or, another example, because lets be real, a large portion of folk characterize Bakugo as nothing more than a mindless abuser. If I only read the most popular fic, I might come to hate this dude.

People mischaracterize Deku all the time as uwu wubby soft boy, and I might be really turned away and think the whole series really IS a waste of time if these characters are as dumb as they are..

To me anyways, fandom is an extrapolation of the source. Without the source, there is no fandom.

And because it's an extrapolation, it's like a photocopy. Every photocopy has some loss from the original. Artistic Telephone if you will. All fandom art that is made and shared is usually transformative in some way from the original which is fantastic!

I think that's why fandom is as weird and silly and stupid as it is, it by it's very nature really can't be taken seriously because it's all just interpretation and speculation and extrapolation on something none of us even own.

I ADORE the idea of someone giving Denki a full fucking realized character in comparison to the original, and hell if I like the work well enough I might magpie some ideas and add it to my own works!

So there is where my example, inflammatory as it was, comes in:

Since fanart and fanfic is an extrapolation of root work, how would someone know if the characterization of someone, or something, be accurate if they've never engaged with the original.

If someone reads a fic (the first extrapolation) where Bakugo is a huge asshole.

Then writes their own fic (the second extrapolation) where Bakugo is a whole new level of monster..

But doesn't know that Bakugo is more.. of an emotionally constipated edge lord..

I think that's where my disconnect and confusion comes from is the idea of loving a work and not having any sort of compass for the 'They Would Not Fucking Say That' radar.

I'm listening to someone's dissertation only to learn in the end that they've never studied the topic.

And I mean, lets be real here, if someone wrote a whole academic essay and I couldn't tell OP never cracked open the source material than like, GOOD ON THEM for logical assumptions and characterization! Insane work that they could interoperate flawlessly from someone else's interpretation.

And to this end, as with all things, someone could name Denki's fucking bloodtype from memory, know the manga by heart and which studio animated specific scenes from the anime, and still turn him into the worst reduction of his tropes in their works. Don't get me wrong knowing the source material doesn't automatically make you a better creator than those who don't

I think the only thing it DOES do is make you a more informed one.

Maybe this also comes from me being uh, how you say, ancient. When women in fic were reduced down to their worst elements. Usually there to be homophobic to whatever slash ship was popular at the time, or just generally horrible. Like imagine if someone did Uraraka dirty in a fic and without any context, any root to check the notes against, you just thought she was Like That.

Not to say they aren't even now. Trust me I have Seen Some Shiiit. But it used to be the default, and canon was a good way to check is that was accurate or not (spoilers it usually wasn't)

So why this big annoying essay? I dunno man, fandom is weird and silly and shouldn't be taken seriously but I also think it's fun to understand people and also get further context in the ways we see things. I wanted to explain myself in a way that wasn't some one liner reddit quip, and I genuinely DID feel really bad making you feel something intense enough to leave the tags, and in all honestly they weren't even that mean aha. If this weird little subculture is gonna survive the corporatization of it's space, the old guard and new guard and everyone in between should help to understand one another as best we can :3

In the end, you're still right.

I should be on my own lawn right now, being unbothered and minding my own business. I hope you don't feel like you're being put on the defense or that I'm trying to be antagonistic here.

This is, an actually earnest means to come across the fence and at least kinda chat about perspectives, how I think active fandom engagement can be skewed without core context, and how passive fandom engagement doesn't require an SAT test on core context. And how yeah, at the end of the day it doesn't matter because fandom is a silly place.

It's just silly. No one should be taking it seriously. If I read a fic from someone who took the worst read on a character they've never engaged with on it's source, but it brought them the most amount of joy in the world to write it, who am I to stop them or to care.

I can find it as confusing as I want, it doesn't matter.
