It’s been a long time now since Filipa actually went on a date with another guy. After her sisters death problems with her father began to complicate more and more, and as much as she tried to keep him at bay, he constantly slipped from her hands and just went deeper into this nothingness of misery and pain. His drinking and gambling became serious, so serious that eventually his sins began catching up with him. Even though his behaviour hurt her as he acted as if both of his daughters were gone and there was nothing to live for anymore, Filipa manage to cut the deal with the men he owed which eventually lead her to one of the richest and most powerful families around.

Her tasks were very simple - always be available, come in, do make up for everyone necessary, leave. And she had a lot of work on her hands, the family was huge, and they constantly had gatherings, meetings, celebrations, she even traveled with them when it was necessary, and it was going to last a while until her fathers debt was paid off while he recovered in a rehab they put him in. All this craziness did make her bump into someone quite interesting and handsome, a man by the name of Jackson Ross who was always around when she did the make up for the triplet daughters who were barely eighteen. The two of them small talked here and there, but as Filipa spent more time at the estate, she began engaging more into conversations with him.

Eventually it all lead to both of them being teased, asked if they are dating and such, and how they must go on a date. So Jackson asked her and Filipa gladly said yes. It most definitively was out of her comfort zone but she had to try, right? And now she had a perfect excuse to actually do her nails, hair and make up, nothing too much because she preferred to look more natural but still didn’t want to look the same as each day he saw her. Her dress was flowy with a flower pattern and she even put on a sexy lingerie which was gifted to her by one of the daughters who knew they were gonna go on a date, in case it goes the right way. She felt really sexy and pretty tonight and excited to meet him. As soon as her phone went off and she saw a message from him that he was downstairs, Filipa slipped on her sandals, grabbed her purse and rushed down the stairs to meet him standing outside of his car. With a big smile on her face she approached him and looked him over. “You look very handsome tonight, Jackson.”Filipa then mused with hum. “I wasn’t sure where we’re going, hopefully i’m not overdressed... or underdressed.”she said with a chuckle and stopped in front of him, just looking him in the eyes. “Hi...”

Mon année 2019 au théâtre

Cela fait longtemps que je voulais écrire sur mes expériences au théâtre. Que ce soit comédies musicales ou pièces de théâtre, j’aime donner mon avis et vous le partager et cet article sera aussi mon moyen de laisser une trace. Mon amie Filipa, qui gère le blog onyourleft, a fait un théâtre Round Up de ces trois premiers mois, et j’ai décidé de suivre son concept et vous faire le mien ! J’ai beaucoup à dire sur mes expériences de 2019, avant de commencer celui de 2020 ! C’est parti !

Janvier

J’avoue avoir bien commencé l’année 2019 avec un petit séjour londonien avec mes amies. Nous voulions profiter des décorations de Noël, et cette période après les fêtes était idéale… nous en avons donc profiter pour faire quelques spectacles.

Hamilton – Victoria Palace Theatre :

J’ai choisi d’aller revoir Hamilton, afin de le faire découvrir à mes deux amies qui m’accompagnait. Nous étions placées en balcon, mais nous avons pu profiter convenablement avec une vue correcte. Un peu de déception pour ma part, le cast est toujours très bon, mais durant cette semaine, Jamaël Westman, qui incarne Alexander Hamilton était absent. J’ai donc eu le plaisir de découvrir sa doublure, une belle découverte, qui ne valait pas mon préféré certes, mais j’ai néanmoins passé un très bon moment. C’était la deuxième fois que je voyais le spectacle. Je l’avais vu pendant les previews assez tôt pour mon anniversaire au fond des Stalls !

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Palace Theatre :

C’était pour moi la quatrième fois que je voyais le spectacle, et j’avais pu voir chaque changement de cast. Nous étions venues avec mes amies/collègues une fois précédente mais avec les places les moins chères tout en haut. Les escaliers sont raides, ainsi que le placement, et nous avons craqué pour y revenir mais en Stalls, vers le fond de la salle, ce qui était très agréable comme point de vue. J’ai beaucoup aimé le cast de Janvier. J’avoue avoir eu du mal avec les changements, vu que la toute première équipe était tout simplement incroyable pour moi. Ici j’ai apprécié tout le monde, mais un peu moins celle qui jouait Hermione. Cette pièce est toujours un plaisir à voir visuellement parlant, les effets sont très bien réussi.

Avril/Mai

Je devais me rendre au Pays de Galles pour une convention fin Avril, et comme je voulais faire une semaine spéciale spectacles, j’en ai profité pour la caler juste après. J’ai pu remplir ma semaine de shows comme je le voulais, une semaine de pré-anniversaire et je me suis fait plaisir !

Betrayal – Harold Pinter Theatre :

C’étaient LES gros moments d’émotions de ma semaine ! Pour ceux qui le savent, je suis fan d’un des acteurs de cette pièce, Charlie Cox, depuis 13 ans. Après divers événements loupés, son annonce était plus qu’inespérée ainsi que celle de Tom Hiddleston. J’avais déjà pris ma place avec une amie pour le spectacle du 29 Avril, et j’avoue avoir craquer pour une place au second rang pour le 2 Mai en mode solo. Cette pièce était géniale !

J’ai apprécié l’histoire qui parle d’un couple et de son meilleur ami. Mais voilà, la femme le trompe avec son pote… La scène n’est faite que de murs blancs, et de quelques petits mobiliers comme des chaises, tables,… ainsi qu’une plateforme tournante, ce qui fait que nous sommes focalisés uniquement sur eux. Les 3 acteurs sont toujours présents tout au long de la pièce, même s’ils ne sont pas inclus dans la scène… Un rappel constant de ce triangle amoureux mis en place. La pièce fonctionne par flashbacks, du moment où ils se voient après avoir stoppé leur relation extraconjugale, se remémorant différents moments jusqu’au début. Surprenant mais très bien fait, les acteurs étaient bons, et j’ai beaucoup apprécié mes deux visionnages dans ce superbe théâtre. J’ai pu rencontrer les acteurs après les pièces, c’étaient d’excellents moments 😊

Waitress – Adelphi Theatre :

Encore un beau spectacle que je voulais voir ! J’avais pu écouter quelques chansons et cela avait aiguisé ma curiosité. Après avoir pris une place au second rang, j’ai pris plaisir à découvrir cette comédie musicale, les chansons sont entraînantes et pleines d’émotions. J’avoue avoir craqué sur David Hunter, qui a une voix magnifique ! J’avais craqué car Jenna était incarnée par Katharine McPhee, que j’avais adoré dans Smash, c’était donc l’occasion de la voir. Elle a une voix sublime qui m’a charmée une fois de plus, mais pour un musical, j’ai trouvé que son interprétation manquait de profondeur et d’émotions. J’ai d’ailleurs pu la voir après le spectacle, ce qui par contre était génial ! J’aurais adoré revoir le spectacle à mon retour, mais le show a annoncé qu’il ne revenait pas à la réouverture…

Rosmersholm – Duke of York’s Theatre :

La belle surprise de cette semaine ! J’avais mon mercredi de libre pour une potentielle pièce, et mon choix s’est porté sur celle-ci. Pourquoi ? Le cast & le prix ! Via TodayTix nous avons eu des places pour 15£ et nous avons été replacées au fond des Stalls, ce qui était parfait ! Pour le cast, nous avions Tom Burke que j’ai découvert ici, Hayley Atwell ou la sublime Peggy Carter si vous suivez les Marvel et Giles Teresa, ex membre d’Hamilton, Aaron Burr. L’atmosphère de la pièce était assez particulière, dans une maison assez délabrée, Rosmer, veuf, vit avec Rebekka ancienne amie de sa défunte épouse. Elle cherche à le faire sortir de sa torpeur, mais la maison et les révélations sur la mort de sa femme ne l’aident pas du tout. Les deux ne cessent de se tourner autour, ils se découvrent plus semblables qu’ils ne le pensaient, avant de réaliser que cette relation est tout simplement impossible. Le jeu des acteurs était incroyable, j’ai été prise dans l’histoire tout au long malgré quelques longueurs ! La fin est dramatique et la pièce pas très gaie, mais c’était intense. J’ai pu voir Giles ainsi que Tom après le spectacle, mais Hayley n’est pas sortie.

Hamilton – Victoria Palace Theatre :

Petit rappel rapide, j’ai revu Hamilton à ce moment-là, comme cadeau d’anniversaire un petit deuxième rang que j’ai savouré. J’ai pu admirer de près les belles chorégraphies, tous les détails du show, et voir cette fois-ci, mon Hamilton préféré : Jamaël Westman ! J’ai d’ailleurs pu le rencontrer à la Stage Door avec d’autres membres du cast.

A German Life – Bridge Theatre :

Le dernier spectacle de ma semaine : une pièce. Aussi gros craquage car la seule actrice de cette pièce était Maggie Smith, une légende pour moi, et il était inconcevable de la rater ! Les décors étaient très simples… vous rentrez dans son salon, vous vous installez, et elle vous raconte son histoire durant 1 heure 30. Maggie incarnait ici Brunhilde Pomsel, scénographe du ministre Goebbels durant l’époque Nazie. Elle a vue toute cette horreur d’un œil complètement extérieur, quitte à être naïve sur ce qu’il se passait dehors. Elle se considérait comme apolitique, donc venait faire son travail et repartait. Cette femme a vécu cette période au plus proche de l’action et de l’horreur et sa vie aura été rythmée par tous les tumultes du 20ème siècle. C’était un moment incroyable et intense, tant le jeu était bon ! On avait clairement l’impression d’être dans son intimité, pendant qu’elle racontait sa vie et ses déboires.

Août

Hamlet – Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre :

Je voulais dire quelques mots sur cette pièce que j’ai eu le grand bonheur de voir lors de mon road trip, à York. En effet, durant l’été, un théâtre de type éphémère et élisabéthain était mis en place avec petit village typique, et vous pouviez voir des pièces de Shakespeare.

Mon choix s’est porté sur Hamlet, une pièce que j’apprécie particulièrement, et surtout car le personnage principal était joué par David Oakes, un acteur que j’aime beaucoup qui a joué dans Victoria ou The White Queen. Nous avions profité du soleil comme de la pluie durant ce spectacle ! Le cast était très bon, et j’ai aimé l’utilisation de la fosse comme à l’époque élisabéthaine ainsi que l’absence de micros qui rend le tout plus vivant que jamais. Le spectacle a duré 3 heures, il faut tenir, mais le jeu en valait la chandelle ! J’ai d’ailleurs eu le bonheur de le revoir après la pièce pour une petite photo, c’était vraiment sympathique.

Novembre

Ce mois de Novembre aura été tout particulier. Cette fois-ci, alors que j’avais en tête un voyage à Londres, mon choix s’est porté sur New York. Pour cause, la pièce de Charlie Cox, Betrayal, annonçait son transfert à Broadway, ca a été le déclic ! Broadway ! Le rêve ultime quand vous aimez les spectacles !

Betrayal – Bernard B. Jacobs Theater :

J’ai donc pu voir le spectacle deux fois là-bas. 1er et second rang, avec des places moins chères pour les jeunes, ce qui est très avantageux ici vu les prix de Broadway. Aucun changement niveau scénique ou cast, exactement la même pièce qu’à Londres. J’en ai surtout profité pour rencontrer les acteurs à nouveau, la stage door étant beaucoup mieux organisée qu’à Londres qui était compliquée !

The Lightening Thief : Percy Jackson the Musical – Longacre Theatre :

Je voulais voir un spectacle que je ne pourrais pas voir en Angleterre, et étant fan de la saga de romans, je n’ai pas hésité longtemps. Les billets étaient très accessibles, car considéré comme un spectacle familial. Et en effet c’était le cas ! J’avais été voir le show en après-midi et la salle était pleine à craquer de classes d’ados qui faisaient un bruit pas possible. J’étais moi-même assise entourée d’ados qui piaillaient et riaient à tout va, c’était le gros point négatif. Sinon concernant le show, les chansons étaient cools, les décors comme fait maison, et un super bon cast. On sentait avec le texte l’envie d’emporter les jeunes avec pas mal de blagues sympas. C’était cool, mais pas un spectacle de dingue !
