Her Laughter (Modern AU)
Five x F.Reader (Modern AU)
AU: No powers + Assassin AU
Summary: Okay, so she'd laugh when she was nervous and she'd laugh when she was lying- either way, he didn't care. Being able to find someone normal to love, would probably do him some could, especially if that someone brews coffee like it was sent from Heaven. She was his morning sun, his angel, his bag of giggles- as normal as every other civilian- or so he thought.

The Hargreeves family was an influential bunch, each sibling had an important role to play. A family with dark secrets, with cracks and wounds, and issues that were later given down to the father's favorite child to care about. Reginald Hargreeves adopted 7 different children from around the world, the only similarity was that each child was born on the exact same date, month, year, time, and second. To the naked eye, the lot was a bunch of kids adopted by a billionaire who just needed a hobby, but in the world hidden between black and white, the people of the grey knew their real identity. The 7 children were adopted to create an elite group, each to infiltrate societal reigns,  each branch of it. This is why, for a very long time the media was confused as to why the children had numbers instead of names- until of course their nanny gave them names, which each child used proudly, except for 1 of them; Number 5. Nonetheless, as the children grew older, and spread their wings, they began to choose their own path
1- Luther settled down, had a family, and owned a little book shop and library with his wife. The two would constantly be traveling the world, and his wife, Sloane, a famous author, would write about their little ventures.
2- Diego, was a bit different - the rebel. After successfully being thrown out of the police academy, his brothers (Klaus and Ben) encouraged him to open a gym or a training center for children's self-defense. Initially he was against the idea, but after he rescued a little girl from being kidnapped in broad daylight, he realised how important it was for children to learn to kick ass.
3- Allison, the only sister, the star of the family and Hollywood. All sources would tell was how she, albeit being famous, had little contact with her siblings, especially after their father's death. Perhaps due to the incident that took so much hype that a certain Hargreeves had to intervene and shut down many news outlets.
4- Klaus Hargreeves, the resident paint sniffer, was actually one of the only siblings that the 'new head' of the family got along with very well. To say that Klaus actually had a job would be...not particularly accurate, what started off as a "positive affirmations group for senior citizens ', turned into a lowkey cult- which once again led the 'new head' of the family to sort out. So now, Klaus just worked with his brother, in the family business, and stayed at the manor.
5- Five Hargreeves, the star child, the child their father had left everything to. He was titled The Commander, he held control over everything- an issue that was bounced around by the media, for he was the only Hargreeves that never got along with the press or certain controlling structures within the society of the elite. Either way, this "blessing of power" had caused the siblings to separate, especially their sister Allison. To many, Five was a sly, selfish, secretive control freak. At least his image was portrayed to be as such and somewhere down the line, the 30-year-old stopped giving a f***.
6- Ben Hargreeves, the 'nicest Hargreeves', owned a luxury restaurant of his own- the only place Five Hargreeves would eat from. To a point where his loyalty became a problem for Ben. The brother had to launch personalized coffees for the idiot-
"Dude, FINE DINING-"
"I'd like to fine dine in a place that sells black ivory brews."
"...."
7- Victor Hargreeves, the only sibling that was not political, controversial, or even chaotic (that or maybe the others were pretty good at covering his tracks). Either way, he was a normal violin instructor, minding his own business, living his life peacefully- to say.
Now, back to what the greys and shadows of the world knew about the Hargreeves. Trained assassins, especially their current commander. The last collected data showed how 4 out of 7 siblings were still active. 4,5,6 were not only close because of their brotherly love for each, but because they were still running the family business- messy things; while no.2 well, to put it politely, the man was now a vigilante, or as No.5 would describe him to be, "Imagine Batman, then aim lower." Either way, the Hargreeves were shady, filthy rich, and political.
Due to this very reason, Five had decided to not give into anything else. A normal life was never a blessing gifted upon him. His sole purpose in life now was to continue carrying on his father's work. Before the old man died, Five had begun to teach university-level physics and math, but resigned as his responsibilities grew. There was nothing out there that could change this man's pattern of living, change the way their family was broken, or the way at the end of it all, he was always alone. At least, that's what he thought.
Blinking away the sleep in his eyes he stared up at the ceiling, today was the day, the day Five completely dreaded, he was in no mood of going on with planned activities for the day- or rather the evening, but this wasn't about him. He would have to constantly tell him that, no, this evening didn't revolve around him, it was about her, it was for her, he was going to do this for her. Five Hargreeves was never one to give in, let alone listen to any god damn person, but she wasn't just anyone, she was his red rose in the middle of a scorching desert, his moon across the veil of the dark night, the sugar to his bitter coffee. And after three years of being with her, a family introduction was bound. After all, it was coffee that had introduced her to him, in one of the most unusual ways.
After the usual night of taking care of family business, the man slowly made his way down the street to his brother's restaurant. Ben was in Spain right now, but hopefully, the restaurant was open at, he checked his wristwatch- bloody 3 am. God, he was f***ed, he would've murdered anyone for a good cup of joe right now. Much to his expectant disappointment, it was closed. Now don't get him wrong, he knew this restaurant was Ben's but IF HE COULD SET IT ON FIRE, IF ONLY- slowly putting the cement block back in its place, his head whipped in the direction of a heavenly smell, eyes spotting a small light emitting from the corner shop.
His feet ran before he could process, for by the next minute he stood in front of a small, relatively new coffee shop: a cafe. He hadn't seen one here before, come to think of it, there was no other place to eat or drink around the block, especially after Ben's business took over- the man was like a shark, running the area, so how did this person grow a pair to open their business here?
Squinting, he tried to make out what the place looked like, it was still messy like the place was yet to be set up. The small ceiling lamps lit up in silence, an atmosphere of peace and calmness enveloping the things below. Confused, he tried to push the glass door, only to find it was locked. But- but- but he could still smell the coffee and
*Tap*
*Tap*
He slowly, lightly tapped the glass with his knuckles, hoping to gain the attention of whoever was inside. And as lady luck would have it, someone did stumble out from the doors of the kitchen, muttering curses as they kicked the boxes around only to freeze when their- her- eyes locked with his.
"You gonna let me in or what?"
She flinched at his muffled voice, the place was a mess, she wasn't supposed to open for another day. She was a mess, instead of choosing to set up first, she was busy in the kitchen, creating brews and recipes- don't get her wrong, it's not like the movers didn't offer her help with the unpacking, but somewhere deep down inside, the feminist in her called her out, "Girl, we got this". It's not like a random stranger would show up at 3 am for coffee and-
"Lady, it's a simple yes or no, though I'd prefer a yes."
"I- " scurrying over to the doors she unlocked them and peaked out at him- yes, she peeked out of the glass doors. "S-sorry sir *clears throat* we're closed"
"But do you have coffee right now?"
"Perhaps.."
"Then I'd like a mug and I'll pay whatever you want."
She looked at him, utterly confused and nervous, this was not going to be easy. She couldn't just say no to a customer on the first day- wait, what if he was a creep who had bad intentions and-
"Lady, please. I'll stand outside if you want me too-"
The roar of the clouds above thought otherwise, pouring down on him and the world around him.
"mOTHER FU-"
He stopped at the sound of the door opening followed by a chuckle, did she just, laugh at him???? Offended, he was deeply offended and- she was already gone, leaving the door wide open for him as the rain chose to enter before he could. "Shit." He muttered as he closed the door behind him, staring at the wet area, his clothes weren't as bad as he thought, partially wet is better than drenched anyway, but the place around him that was dusty was now a mixture of muddy and watery, man, she should clean up if she plans on opening this joint.
He sat on a free table, only clean table, looking around the place, eyes turning to the kitchen door opening, holding a tray in one hand- balancing it ever so delicately, the other hand holding onto a towel she walked over to him, not meeting his gaze.
"S-sorry about earlier" handing him the towel to dry his damp hair she placed the mug of freshly brewed coffee and a slice of cake.
Drying his hair he nodded muttering a 'thanks' before he heard her chuckle again, eyeing her through his locks. Before he could retort she covered her mouth, turning around, back facing him, stifling a fit of giggles.
"...is there something on my face"
"No-hoho- shit iMsorry"
Eyebrows raised he shrugged, whatever was up with this psycho- who was now running back to the kitchen- he didn't really care. He got a cup of joe that smelled wonderful and that's all that mattered. Pressing the mug against his lips he groaned at the warmth, it was the first sip however, that had him slamming the kitchen door open, causing her to squeak and throw whatever was in her hands- the later noticed cake batter on the ceiling.
"HOW DID YOU DO IT?"
"Do what?"
"The coffee...why does it taste like it was sent from heaven-"
But before he could finish, she burst into laughter, choking on her own laugh as she covered her mouth, trying to gain composure. He had no idea what was happening, but before him was a woman, losing herself to a fit of psychotic laughter on her knees as she tried to stop herself.
"Do i...call 911 or something-"
"No-hoh, i'm fine " she gasped, slapping herself lightly.
"Really don't look fine to me-"
"I LAUGH WHEN IM NERVOUS OKAY JUST STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT"
"Oh..." Staring right at her glossy gaze, he could tell she wasn't lying, the words leaving his lips sooner than he could stop them, "kinda cute."
Cue her face flushing like a tomato, giggles bouncing around the walls of the kitchen as he cleared his throat, looking everywhere but at her. He wasn't lying though, whatever weird quirk this was, it rang like music in his ears.
The same night she had asked him to not look at her directly as she explained to him about the problem of her laughter. How it would trigger every time she was nervous or super anxious- or if she was lying, she could control it usually, tonight being an exception. This was her own place, she was going to open it in two days and the coffee and cake that he had consumed were her own recipes.
"F***ing delicious.".
"O-oh..thank you."
The same night he listened to her talk about how she spent her whole life saving up for this very dream, how she wanted no one to interfere for once, which is why she thought she should unpack and set up herself. He chose not to comment on that, just watching her, it had been a while since he had seen anyone so passionate about something other than money or power. The way she would talk about her plans, how she hoped to never hate this dream she had recklessly dove into. Before they knew it the rain had stopped, the morning light peeking out from behind the grey clouds. Glancing at his watch, he clicked it tongue, standing up as he dusted off his pants,
"Well then, I wish you the best of luck for your future venture."
"Thank you- wait," she stopped him from leaving, only to scurry back to the kitchen.
Looking around with his hands stuffed in his pockets, he realized how he hasn't had a decent conversation with anyone in so long, a conversation that was filled with random day-to-day things. Perhaps he should have helped her with the setting up, or not? It's not like he'll come here every morning just for a cup of coffee, as soon as Ben's back, he'd dip- no need to form connections with someone normal, someone innocent, someone as beautiful and kind and- shit.
"Here you go."
Brought back to reality she saw him holding out a paper bag to him, it had the logo of the shop.
"I uh...it has coffee so make sure you don't flip it around..heh..alsolookintoitwhenyougohome."
"Oh...thank you, you really didn't have to- oh wait, I didn't pay you earlier " he began to take out his wallet only for her to stop him.
"It's okay, this one's..on the house."
With that he walked out, assuming he'd never really come back there. Or so he thought, for when he went home and pulled out the little cup of coffee and  plastic box with a tart, he found a napkin, with something scribbled on it.
"I'm sorry I creeped you out Mr.Hargreeves I hope you like the tart, I figured out the special ingredient to add after talking to you, thank you for being my first ever customer. May you find someone you love as much as you love coffee."
Snorting, he neatly folded the napkin and placed it in his coat pocket, "Smooth for someone who can't talk without bursting into laughter."
"What are you smiling about oh dear brother" Klaus sang, entering the kitchen, eyes landing on the brown bag on the counter, "oh...this isn't from Ben's place."
"It isn't"
"And why is that, pray tell?'
"Because it was closed, now if you excuse me, I have better things to do." With that he walked out of the kitchen leaving Klaus behind with only the empty bag-
"Man" picking up the paper bag he looked at it, flipping it over, "I wanted to taste the tart- oh? What's this?" His eyes scanned over the definite feminine handwriting,
"For a special customer"
"Ohoho, there is a lady involved."
Naturally, Five did not go there the next day or the next -practically a whole week, Ben was back anyway and again, she was nice and all but she had her own dreams and work and he had his. Plus, as heavenly as her coffee was, going to her place may actually put her in danger. Hence, he sat at Ben's restaurant, sipping the slightly too bitter coffee, slamming the mug down grimacing- a few heads turning in his direction.
"Okay, this is getting out of hand." Ben sighed, pulling out a chair and sitting infront of him. "Man, it's been a week, a week of you saying the dumbest things about the coffee, it's either too bitter or too sweet or isn't brewed right....so what's it today, buddy?" He hissed, crossing his arms over his chest, leaning back against his seat.
Shrugging Five looked around mumbling; "it's too hot."
"Out."
"What?"
"I said get out you-"
"Woah woah woah, ladies, calm yourselves" the third chair screeched, as Klaus flopped down, putting a paper cup on the table, "what's this all about."
Five, who was about to retort paused to stare at the familiar cup, "Where'd you get that?"
"Oh, this?" He said holding the cup, "it's a heaven sent coffee from a little shop around the corner."
"Wait, there's no other food joint here?" Ben asked, taking his cup to taste the coffee, moaning in delight, "What the f*** is this?"
"I know right, cute little place, cute little girl too-"
Abruptly getting up, he stomped away, leaving both his brothers behind. A smug expression plastered on Klaus' face as he raised his eyebrows at Ben, "I love playing matchmaker"
"Please don't."
Opening the glass doors he entered the almost empty cafe, with little to no people around, but it looked pretty- those aesthetic-filled places his university students would tell him about, claiming he wasn't much older than them, so he should like those places too. It looked much different from the last time he saw this place, cleaner and brighter. Eyes stopping at her wiping the counter.
"Morning."
"Good morning- oh Mr.Hargreeves" she paused midway, staring at him, surprised to see him here. He had not shown up since that night, much to her disappointment, she had assumed maybe he found her note a bit too informal or offensive.
"The place isn't...packed?"
"Oh, um...it's been a slow day- i uh...haha..i kind of wanted to haha apologise..." She cleared her throat, trying to regain composure and not scare away the only few customers present.
"For what?" Eyebrows raised, he leaned closer to the glass counter, staring at the desserts.
"For whahahaha-the...haha..napkin message-"
Words caught in her throat, eyes locking with his as he frowned, standing up straight, "Why are you apologising for that? Did you not mean it?"
"Wha-idid."
"Then?"
"I um....heheh...it was..weird?" She muttered looking behind him, checking if there was another customer, but there wasn't. In fact, it had been a slow day, a slow week, she knew opening up next to a 6-star restaurant would be an issue, the whole concept of threat and weakness but, she knew for a fact that her coffees were better. Cheaper too!
"It was cute."
His words cut off her thoughts- any thought process to be accurate, face contorting, suspicious eyes landing on him, eyeing him up and down to notice any signs of lying.
"I'm serious. I thought it was sweet."
"Then...why didn't you come for a whole week?"
Shit. Good going Five, what will you tell her now? He wanted to slap himself, that was not how it was supposed to go around. For f***'s sake, he wasn't even supposed to be here! That little b**** just HAD to buy coffee from here and show up at Ben's, in a few more weeks Five would have forgotten about her- probably, probably not. WHO KNOWS - but now here he was, standing before her like an idiot. He had no intention of telling her how he actually felt- or had begun to feel after he read the note. In all honesty, he wanted to come the very next morning, order a cup of coffee and just sit in a corner, watching her peacefully. Hell, he didn't even know her that well, and she sure as hell didn't know a thing about him-
"It's fine if you don't want to tell me."
Head snapping in her direction as she picked up the crumbs off the counter and walked into the kitchen, doors closing in behind her. Was she serious or was she upset? Shit. He was about to leave before she came out of the kitchen, coming back with a smile.
"So can I get you anything?"
Nodding instantly he pointed at a pastry and cleared his throat, "coffee?"
"Same one?"
"Got something new?"
"You want to try something new?"
He paused for a moment and glanced at her, there it was, that double-edged sword. Now did he want to try something that would potentially end poorly, or perhaps it wouldn't? But would it really be bad if ...maybe for once, he could feel what love...feels like ...to have someone care for you? Keep you warm like coffee?
"What would you...recommend?"
"I'll surprise you" she giggled, trying to cover it up by clearing her throat. Leaving him standing there, smiling at his own reflection off the clean counter that one spot she kept on wiping while talking to him, was she using it as a distraction so she wouldn't end up laughing out of nervousness?
And what a surprise it was. Slowly, ever so slowly, he'd get up a bit earlier than he'd usually do. Making sure to put on a bit more aftershave than usual, hair gelled back, tie fixed, shoes shining. All to ensure that he was the first person there, the first customer there- sometimes, he'd show up before she would, not that she'd mind. She'd just tell him to sit wherever while she'd make them a fresh brew, listen to him talk about his siblings, his usual day handling family finances, his brother's wedding, his sister's movie, his other brother's concert. If one thing was clear as day, it was that this man was in love with his family, she could see that like it was written on the wall- but she noticed how his insecurities would usually get the best of him, making him bitter and distant. She never asked about things he didn't want to talk about, like his actual job or why the siblings never really met, it was more of a 'let him talk about whatever he likes' session. She'd just sit across the table and watch, smiling with a mug in her hand, watching the golden morning hue illuminate his angular face, lashes shimmering under the light, laughter ringing like bells in heaven. It was amazing to see someone so beautiful, near perfect- talking to her, spending their mornings with her.
Three months into this routine he woke up one morning, ready as ever, smiling to himself as he reached for his phone to see a text from her. She was sick and told him the cafe would be closed for the day. And just like that, his morning was ruined. The sun was too bright, the birds were too loud, the house was dusty and Klaus was just a bitch, which is why when he saw his brother coming into the kitchen he snarled,
"Why are you here?"
"More importantly, why are you burning eggs?"
"I am not." He slammed the pan in the sink, "f*** this "
"So, no Y/N today?"
"No, she's sick- how do you know her?"
"Oh well if she's sick-" before he could finish his statement he was slammed into a wall as his brother looked at him with that psychotic look in his eyes.
"Klaus, she is a very normal and a very nice person-"
"Which is why you should totally tell her you like her Five. Man, you're smitten, whipped, head over heels, aching in the core for her- look you forgot how to fry eggs just at the notion of not being able to see her today." He pointed at the pan in the sink, not really bothered by Five's outburst.
Grip loosening he sighed, groaning as he walked over to the counter. "It's not as easy as you think...I'm not..you Klaus. People just don't...like me, let alone fancy me." He muttered, busying himself with making an omelet this time.
"And why do you think that? You tend to think the worst of yourself in every given situation, Five." He taunted, sitting on a barstool, elbows pressed against the counter, face in his palms as he noticed how dressed up his brother was- man, this lad was ready like it's a date. This was one of Five's nicest suits, he knew that for sure.
"I don't think Klaus, I know. I couldn't even keep the family together. Look at us, you and ai are the only ones here- hell if you didn't have issues with your job you wouldn't be here either." Slamming the bowl on the counter he walked over to the other end, grabbing salt and going back to his bowl, "Ben and Vanya are too nice to say anything to me- that and I have shares in his business. Diego is...just Diego, I haven't seen Luther since the wedding, and let's not talk about Alison, shall we?' he said as he gently tipped over the salt, eyes widening as the cap fell off into the bowl, followed by the entire contents of the salt shaker.
"FOR F****'S SAKE I'M JUST-"
"Well, have you ever tried talking to any of them? Minus Alison, of course, we don't want to go back there again."
"No, Klaus. You know why?' he turned around glaring at Klaus who looked oh so happy, "Because I know they don't care. I wouldn't either," he pointed at himself with his thumb, "if I knew me. Especially after Reggie dear left me with all this shit! Why, why would you assume I would like to kill and clean up after that- "
"What is Y/N like that?"
"What?" He paused, staring at Klaus who smiled at him menacingly, "I mean, I know what she looks and sounds like, she also makes delicious coffee to kill for but...what about you makes you like...." He pointed at his brother who was visibly shaking, "Like this. The man that can kill almost ten men in under two minutes, loses the ability to make breakfast at the thought of a woman."
"She's ...nice" he sighed, deciding to give up on cooking and just sitting in front of Klaus, "This entire thing was her dream, I appreciate she actually pulled through, unlike any of us. Pretty straight forward too, " he stared at the white marble under them, "Honestly is smarter than she gives herself credit for, I've met world renowned chefs, culinary artists and all this shit Klaus...but everytime I see her, she has something new for me to try, it tastes different each time too and it's not the bad different - never is."
"Five, I've never seen you talk about someone like that."
Shrugging he tapped the counter, "well, I haven't had a decent conversation for sometime. She listens...really well. And" he chuckled, stretching his arms over his head before sighing, "laughs when she lies or is nervous"
"I'm sorry, what?"
"What? I said she laughs when she's-"
"YOU IDIOT."
"Okay, Klaus, no need to ruin our moment here-"
"IF SHE LAUGHS WHY DON'T U JUST ASK HER IF SHE LIKES YOU/"
"because I- '' words caught up in his throat, brows furrowed in confusion before he hummed. It's not like the thought had never occurred to him, but he wasn't sure why he never asked her. Perhaps he was too afraid, afraid to know the answer. What if she didn't laugh? What if she didn't like him-
"Listen to me." The paler man slapped his hands on the countertop, "ASK HER. I've SEEN the way she looks at you when you speak to her, or how she leaves you notes on napkins- ask her or someone else will and you'll be too late!'
"Great speech bucko, but I don't know where she lives".
"I do"
"Why."
"Oh, Ben wanted to buy her business so he got her details, then I was like :Nu-uh Benerino, this girl gonna be our sister-in-law soon-"
"Okay, you know what, just give the address."
In a matter of minutes, he stood there, fist an inch away from the wooden door. Well shit. All that big talk in front of Klaus and now he stood there wondering what to do, as usual. His knuckles barely caressed the timber when the door was yanked open, only to jerk away at the sight of a fist.
"O-ohhahaha, sorry Mr.Hargreeves, I thought you were a creep or something." She mumbled over her mask. The giant hoodie cap making her seem even smaller- the hoodie looked familiar though.
"Thought the same the first time you saw me too." He smiled at her, bending to take the trash bag from her, lowkey forgetting why he was even there in the first place, "Feeling any better?"
"Mmmkay..." Her words were a soft mumble as her fingers played with the material of her hoodie, "why are you here..."
"Why am I here?" Repeating after her he nodded to himself, clearing his throat as he looked around, trying to peak over her head to look into her apartment- ironic how she lived above the cafe she owned.
"I'm here because I had to ask you something, may I come inside?"
She took a moment to think then answered, closing the door a bit, a gesture he noted, a gesture that broke his confidence a bit more, "I'd prefer...you ask here."
"Very well. We'll talk later." He looked around before nodding at her, gripping tightening on the trash can as he turned to leave, maybe this was a bad idea-
"W-wait Mr.Hargreeves, let's talk downstairs...heheeh..gimme 10 minutes I'll be there " she chuckled, groaning right after, this was no time to laugh, throwing the keys of the place at him, which he caught easily, eyeing her. She was nervous, he could tell but about what?
Either way Five had been sitting near the window, the other lights of the cafe were off, but a spotlight at the counter. He had turned up the heat, wanting to ensure that the place wasn't cold when she came in. That's the thing, he didn't understand why he felt the urge to do that. She had just flatly refused to let him in her apartment, well, that isn't partially rude- it is sensible but she's known him for 3 months already. Why didn't she trust him? Or perhaps she never saw him as more than a loyal customer, perhaps those notes about finding love and happiness were just friendly advice. Or maybe they were hints, she was hinting that she wished him the best, but she wasn't the best for him-
"Mr.Hargreeves?"
She didn't look sick- well, she did look tired, even under the dim light and change of clothes, he could tell that much. A chuckle passed her lips as she placed a tray on the table, cleared her throat, sitting down across the table, rubbing her hands together, "Thank you for turning on the heat...hahaha...i uh...haha..forgot to ask you to."
"Why don't you call me Five?"
Nodding at the question she looked at the tray, noticing how he hadn't even reached for his coffee, it was still on the tray. Reaching forward, her hand hovering above the cup, only for him to grip her wrist, eyes locking with hers, "Y/N, I asked you something."
"Because..."
"Because?"
"I...hahahah- shit stOp" she covered her mouth with her other hand, frustrated, of all the moments this horrid curse of a quirk could take over it was now. Pulling her other hand away she got up only to bump into him, she wasn't even sure when he had come up to her. Gently pulling her hands away he sighed,
"Feel free to slap me away."
"Wha-" she was cut off by a soft pair of lips crashing against hers, hands cupping her face as he pulled her closer. Her hands gripped his dress shirt, trying not to fall from the rush of emotions. Pulling away, his lips brushed against hers, admiring her features, how her eyes were still closed, face warm in his hands.
His hands fell off her face, only to find themselves back on her body, this time on her waist. Her eyes sparkling - or so he thought- looking up at him with a look that made it oh so hard for him to control himself.
"I take it, you fancy me?"
"Doesn't take a genius to figure that out."
"Oh, snappy, huh?"
She only giggled in response trying to push him away, only to pull her closer, "wai-heh-t your coffee?"
"Can wait, you taste better."
"What are you thinking about? You have been for a while."
Sighing he turned his head to look at her, her body was completely turned towards him, covered by the sheets, only the sheets. She was much more confident now, much more comfortable around him.
"I was thinking about how we met."
"Oh?" She gasped, scooting closer to him, snuggling into his side only for him to wrap his arm around her waist, "which part? The one where you said I taste better than the coffee I make."
"I said that last night though too."
"You did." Booping his nose she tried getting up, only to be pulled back down into his chest.
"Stay."
"I have work, Five, so do you hahahaa"
"How about we don't go anywhere-"
"What about tonight's dinner?"
"Yeah, about that, how aren't you a laughing mess by now?"
"Why do you think I was laughing last night?"
"Oh, i thought it was because of the blindfold-"
His words were cut off by her phone ringing, pulling away as she picked it up. Got off the bed as she took the sheets with her, to the washroom talking about how she'll be downstairs in 20 minutes. He sat up confused only to smirk at how the washroom door was slightly ajar- might as well shower, before starting their day.
He came into the cafe, fixing his tie, giving one of the employees a nod, "I'll have my usual." He said as he looked around, the place was busier now. Three years of coming here regularly, three years of his relationship and tonight they were going to meet his family.
"For our usual customer."
He glanced up at her and snorted, taking the cup out of her hands, "shouldn't you be in the kitchen?"
"Well, they said the resident old man was here, so I had to deal with him myself- hehehehe"
"No love, the laugh ruins the effect", he smirked at her pout, waving at her before walking off, muttering, "I'll pick ya up at 8."
Chuckling to herself she groaned, she was really not ready to meet them, all 6 Hargreeves. Especially since she had seen how anxious he'd get, irritable as well. She had a bad feeling about tonight, she was sure.
Just as he had said, he was at her doorstep by 8 pm, giving her that dashing smile when she opened the door.
"Well look at you, looking all edible."
"Pffft-"
"Come on my little giggly bean, the sooner this night is over with the better. If it ends well, I'll pat Klaus on the back, if not, I'll kill him."
"This is where you LIVE?"She gasped, staring up at the building, the pointing at the building on either sides, "All of this ohohohomygod." She hissed, gripping his arm, moving closer, if that were possible.
"Yeah, well there were almost nine people here before- anyway" his hand reached for the door which opened before he could only to see Klaus.
"Brother- Oh You must be Y/N!" He opened his arms wide, wrapping her in an embrace, smirking at Five who was growling.
Patting his back she giggled and pulled back, "You must be Klaus, Five talks a lot about you."
"Oh~ pray tell? All good things I suppose?"
Another voice cut her off as a smaller, paler man came into view, coming out of the living room with a smile, "Hello there, it's lovely to meet you Y/N" smiling in return she walked over to the man following him inside the living room.
"By the way" Five stared at her walking away before glaring at Klaus, "I dont talk about you- she was only being nice." Stuffing his hands in his pockets he stomped away as Klaus burst out laughing.
Upon entering the living room he saw that she was chatting and laughing with Victor, but that wasn't her nervous laughter. He was glad he decided to call Victor earlier, at least he'd be able to control the situation. An hour in and more people came through the door,
"Hey Brother." Luther waved awkwardly at Five who snorted, shaking his hand and raising his glass at him. "Been a while Luther, how was Paris?" He asked casually, leading his brother to where Victor and Y/N were standing near the fireplace.
"Y/N, this is Luther." Five lightly brushed his hand against hers, eyes gazing at her softly, as she looked at Luther and smiled, giggling- there's that nervous laugh.
"It's very nice to meet you, I know Five can be a handful." The big boy smiled, proud he made his brother's girlfriend laugh and comfortable around them. Actually, he hadn't seen Five like this before, he was calmer, tamer,  at first glance you couldn't even tell that this man killed for a living. Here he was, staring at the woman he loved in the most affectionate way possible- and that is exactly why he knew Five could easily kill a room full of people for her.
"Hey, hey, where's the star of the night- oh! I know you, I've seen you at my gym!" Diego entered the space, putting down a gift bag on a table as he threw his jacket in a corner, "I'm Diego, you were...in my class once, right?" He asked not noticing Five's body stiffening, face contorting into displeasure as he glanced at Y/N.
"O-oh hahaha yes...I uhh .my friend asked me to join it for a day hahah."
"Oh who was your frie-"
"OKAY KIDS, BEN IS HERE, LET US GO HAVE DINNER!" Klaus broke off the interaction making sure everyone was going to the dining room.
She was the last one left with Five who glanced at her, she knew that look, he looked at people that way when he didn't trust them. Shit. "Five I-"
"That's where that hoodie was from?" He whispered, remembering the hoodie she was wearing the day they finally got together.
"Y-yeah..."
"Why didn't you tell me?'
"I-it was just one class, hahah"
"Yeah but I would've preferred being informed about you knowing one of my brothers beforehand and- would've preferred you telling me than him."
"I-"
"Five, you guys coming?" Klaus peaked in, eyes lingering on Five, having some form of mini stare down. Fortunately for her, he won, causing Five to sigh and nod. Turning to her with a small smile, "Come on...we'll talk later."
"What took you guys so long!" Ben gasped, sitting across Klaus who shrugged, "Lover's quarrel."
"You guys fighting?" Victor asked only for her to laugh, "n-ohono..."
"We aren't," he said as he poured her a glass of water, "We were talking and Klaus can't keep his nose out of shit."
Ben just nodded and raised a glass, "To the girl that popped our brother's cherry and is a great rival business"
She choked on her drink, snorting and gagging as the rest of the Hargreeves laughed at how their brother was patting her back, trying to calm her down, "IgNore them- THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH FOR BEING NORMAL"
"HAHAHA"
"Normal, well I wouldn't use that word to describe this family."
All heads turned at the new voice, causing Five to groan, Luther gulped, Diego raised a brow and Ben exchanged a look with Victor.
"Allison" klaus stood up, clapping his hands, "So glad you could come, you're a bit late though-"
"Wait, you invited her?" Five cut him off, angry- no, scratch that he was pissed. He knew Allison had it out for him and she would do anything to f*** things up for him again, it took him 2 years to get out of the heat of the press. He could feel Y/N's hand on his, trying to calm him down.
Allison looked at Five and raised a brow, "Oh? And everyone can meet you new plaything and I can't?"
"Dont.call.her.that." he stood up, only for her to pull him back down to his seat. Countless nights, he had spent countless nights talking about how the issue with Allison had made the situation between the siblings worse- he would say she had a talent on "find you weak spot and making sure to press it ". And from the looks of it, she had found Five's weak spot, sitting right beside him.
"Please, I come with no ill feelings." She said as she sat down across Y/N, taking Klaus' chair. "Nice to meet you Y/N, I'm Allison."
"Nice to meet you too." She smiled, gripping onto Five's hand from under the table.
"Well, how about we have dessert? Huh?" Ben stood up, going to the kitchen to bring back a cake, "Since you're part of the family now Y/N, we thought why not celebrate it properly?" He looked at Y/N who was almost in tears, clearing her throat as she looked at Five.  Five looked at her with a small smile, he had to owe it to Ben for making things a bit easier for him everytime.  "Only if you want to..." He whispered to her, as Ben handed her a knife.
Not long after that, a bottle of champagne popped open, a few glasses down and most of them were at least tipsy. Standing near the fireplace as the music played around the room, Five was still a bit tense with Allison around, but the sight of Y/N laughing with Klaus and Ben made him feel a bit better. Maybe things would just flow smoothly- or so he thought.
"I'm going to the washroom," she whispered to Five who nodded after giving her the directions to it. With that all seven of them were in the room alone, drinking quietly.
"Nice girl Five." Diego smiled at him, "I'm really happy for you." He raised his glass at the raven-haired man who gave him a tight-lipped smile, "Thanks, Diego."
"Oh, she's a real sweet gal," Luther chimed in, sitting next to Victor who nodded, "Don't be yourself around her- at least not too much."
"I'll try not to be." he snorted, eying Allison who was quietly drinking in a corner, not really pitching in her two cents. She had been fairly decent after the first five seconds of the dinner.
"I'll go check up on her-"
A range of shots rang across the house, glass shattering around them as they fell to the ground. Victor was covered by Luther as Diego pushed Allison to the ground and covered her, "WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?"
"HOW WOULD I KNOW?" Five yelled back, crawling away followed by his siblings.
Scampering into the kitchen in the basement he looked at all of them, taking a head count. "Where's Y/N- SHIT" he was almost out the door when Luther gripped by the arm, "Are you out of your mind, you can't just go out like that-"
"I appreciate the concern Luther, but there is a civilian in danger, and WHICH ONE OF YOU BROUGHT THIS UPON US" he yelled at them, going to the kitchen cabinet and pulling out a briefcase, unzipping it. Spilling its contents out he tossed a gun to each one of them, stopping at Allison who sighed in return, "I know how to use a gun Five and no I did not do anything tonight."
"I know, I want you to get Y/N somewhere safe." he said as he loaded his gun and looked at the rest, "Klaus you're with Allison, the rest of you are with me, we'll split up after these two are out of the way- understood?"
"Got it."
Y/N was washing her face when the vibrations across the wall shook the mirror in front of her, hand instinctively going to her purse, Shit. Had they followed her here? Or were these people here for the Hargreeves, not that it mattered to her, at the moment the only person she could care about was Five.
Kicking the door open she aims her gun, taking a quick glance before walking down the hallway, the gunshots had stopped, but she knew they were here. She was unsure of how many people there were, or how loaded they were. She was about to turn the corner when the gun was kicked out of her hand, a man in a mask pointed his own gun at her, only for her to snort and dodge his aim with ease. Fighting in tight hallways was always fun, especially if you were as athletic as her, bouncing off the opposite wall she landed a hard kick across his face, watching him grip his jaw in pain as she picked up his gun, "Cute." she giggled before aiming at him, shooting more than once, knowing this would get the attention of those nearby.  Just like that three more men came running down the corner yelling at her, honestly she didn't have time to process what they were saying, this was taking too long, and the longer it would take the more Five would be worried and the last thing she wanted was him to find out about her. "Okay, hahahaha, let's make this quick, yeah?" she asked, grabbing a baton off the body of the man on the floor as she ducked down when her assailant tried to punch her, kicking him in the shin and smacking him across the face with the baton. Giggling at the other two she groaned afterward, whacking the man's knee with the baton, taking the gun off his belt, and shooting the other one in the head, "HAHAHA I am so f****ed" she laughed hysterically, "He's going to dump me for sure- and IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT" pointing at the last man on the ground, her foot choking him.
"You're *wheezes* the crazy lady who laughs alot"
"Yeah...heheh..noho- shit I need to stop laughing- GOD WHy'D you havE to show up hEre? Huh?" she yelled at him, pressing onto his neck harder, "HHAHAHA Oh MYGOD- I GAVE 20 YEARS TO THOSE A**HOLES AND THE GOVERNMENT CAN'T LET ME LIVE A SIMPLE LIFE pfff" to anyone watching, she looked insane, like a woman straight out of a DC movie (Harley Quinn, minus the red and blue hair colour, laughing and killing off men with ease).
"They're coming for yo-"
*Bang*
"Oh f*** off...bloody bastard.* she tossed the gun aside, after shooting him in the head, turning around to yelp. Staring directly at her biggest fear, the man that she was very much ready to give everything up for. "F-Five...hahaha, what are you doing he-ehheeh here?" She asked, taking a step closer, only to stop when he pointed his gun at her. Expressions hardened, eyes cold and empty, she had never seen him like this- correction, he had never looked at her with this look. One filled with doubt and pain, with a hurtful pinch of disgust.
"Y-you're hurt." She whispered, raising her hands to show she was unarmed, eyes glued to his bleeding side.
"Well, my ego is a little bruised. I let you play me like a fiddle for over a year-'
"I wasn't playing anything Five-"
"BULL SHIT." He hissed, aiming right at her head, "That's why you went to Diegos's didn't you, and that day you didn't let me in your apartment, there was a body behind you, wasn't there? All this time. All this time with you and you've been lying to me? Who hired you?"
"No-" she whimpered, shaking her head as she lowered her hands, "I -I wasn't I swear- yes there was a body there and yes I went to check on Diego but-but it jahaha wasn't like that- pfffft- please Five, you have to believe me" she giggled, only to slap herself to stop. This is not how she wanted him to find out about her. "I- I'm sorry, okay! I wanted to tell you but I didn't know how- PLUS I'M SUPPOSED TO BE RETIRED- AND YOU NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT YOUR FAMILY EITHER, I FOunD oUT MYSELF AND-" she gasped covering her face with her hands and groaning.
"Who else knew?"
"W-what?"
"WHO ELSE KNEW?" His voice boomed across the hallways as if everyone else was completely silent- or just dead.
"Klaus..." She whispered, staring at her feet, tears threatening to fall at any given moment.
"Of course he did." the man hissed, before lowering his gun and looking around the hallway, "Leave."
"What?"
"Leave, it's over."
"N-no Five wait, please-"
"Five, wait, listen to me." Klaus cut her off, running up the hallway, honestly, he was supposed to come to her earlier, but Allison and he got caught up on the lower flower when they were circled by the enemy. Of course, he had known about Y/N, his job was to be Five's eyes, the family's guardian angel- so yes, he knew about her little secret, kept it safe until she was ready to tell his brother.
"Not a word out of you" he looked at Klaus then at her " and I didn't tell you because I thought I was keeping you safe- whatever." He said walking down the opposite direction, only to be stopped by her, she was gripping onto his hand as if her life depended on it, "Please" she whispered with a tear-stained face if he could just hear her out.
"Don't make this harder than it already is." With that he yanked his hand away, crossing Allison by the corner, glancing up at her with a, "Guess you got your share of entertainment."
"What does that supposed to mean?" she yelled at the man who shrugged while walking away, before going to where Klaus was holding onto a sobbing Y/N. "What the hell happened Klaus? Y/N? Are you okay- oh shit, you really did a number on these people huh?" she sighed, looking around before turning to Klaus who looked at her with guilty eyes, mouthing, "I don't know what to do."
Two hours in, with everything a mess, Y/N was already out of the manor he stood by the fireplace, sighing at the burning sensation left by the scotch. He had told everyone to 'get lost'- even when Diego tried to argue with a 'just listen to her man' he responded with an 'I will shoot you, don't tempt me.' So here he stood now, on top of the rubble and the mess, somewhere between the shattered ornaments and glass, lay pieces of his heart, the heart that he had hidden away, oh so well- until she pulled it back out to the surface with her warmth.
"You know." Klaus entered the room, kicking a block of cement that must have fallen off a wall, "She really wasn't lying. She did retire."
"And you're telling me why?"
"Because I know you'll never ask her, block her out when she will tell you and choose to brood for the rest of your life."
"What d'ya want from me, Klaus?" He turned around staring at his brother who was sprawled on the dirty couch.
"To listen!! What did you expect? Five! God would somEhow juST SEND  ANGEl your way? No scratch that- you really thought someone normal, someone not like us would be a good match for you? Like dude, if she couldn't do what she did tonight, you'd be brooding here over her DEATH!"
"She LIED Klaus"
"Well no duh! Look at you! It took you three months to even admit you like her! And the worst thing is, you have HORRIBLE TIMING."
"And you know all this?" He asked to walk over to the one seater across from him, sitting there with his legs crossed.
"Listen okay, so the day you brought in the coffee right, I read that little note and I was like nahh gurrl, you don't wanna play with this man's balls-"
"Okay, we're done-"
"NONON wait" he stopped him from leaving, "I'll tell you properly okay? So, yes, what I meant was that a civilian should not be involved with our family, so I went to check her out the next morning. Meanwhile, I had told Ben to get intel on her, I won't lie, it wasn't easy to get information on her, but when we did, turned out she worked for the government for a very long time, she just took early retirement.  And that got me thinking, hey, maybe if Five does like her, it won't be such a bad thing cause she'll be able to put up a fight- if needed. Thing is, a day before she texted you that she was sick- I saw her snooping around our siblings, so after she left Diego's gym I approached her. She told me she was only suspicious that you were using her and the government had hired you to take her down- because word got around that she had retired and there had been incidents recently. I assured her that you were just weird and a little cray-cray in general but you liked her. So when you went to see her, and she didn't let you in, she was probably  being well- assaulted at that time, which is why she called me right after she sent you downstairs."
"Okay, seriously, this is the seventh guy this week Y/N"
"Klaus, just get rid of the body okay, Five took the bag with the bloody clothes, I PRAY he doesn't check it."
"So, we burying or burning-"
"Do whichever, I have to go talk to him"
"Alright, I'll bite your hideous cake, why didn't she tell me hmmm? We'd been together for three years now?"
"Well, Five, I think you should ask her that yourself, no?"
"F*** you."
"I love you too"
To say she wasn't losing her mind, would be an understatement. Her laughter-filled sobs echoed around the empty kitchen as she took out various pans and pots. Chopping stuff as she chuckled, only to whine in frustration-
"You sound insane"
Instantly swinging the knife in the direction of the voice, the loud clang of it sticking tip first into the wooden kitchen door silenced the place. He opened the door slowly, peaking at her then turning his head to glance at the knife sticking into the door,
"Nice aim, would've actually killed me."
"Five what are you doing here?"
"I'm here to talk to you, that is if you want to tell me the truth this time," he said glancing around at the mess, had she been baking this entire time, what the hell? Sure, it smelled great but at this point, he was unsure if she was just stressed or lowkey insane.
"What do you hahhahhah- wanna know"
"Everything, from the start."
"Well, I was born, normal family, great and all you know." she said, chopping a giant block of chocolate in half, "Then one day, boom house is on fire, turns out we were just caught in the middle of a gang war- anyway, I survived, and let me tell you how kids are horrible bullies HAHAHA i mean heheh I know I have this laughing thing but hHAHHA hohohorible kids-"
"You're derailing."
"S-sorry. Anyway, at 10 I was approached by a lady who offered me a deal, a life of full luxury in return for my services- at first I thought she was a bad bad lady y'know, but turned out she was a government lady-"
"Even worse."
"I.KNow. anyway, 20 years into service, I finally retire, all's good until you pop up at night. And let's be honest, I thought you were here to kill me right." she pointed at him with the knife, "In the suit and all, but then you just wanted coffee and then I gave you coffee but for some reason, you just wouldn't get out of my head and-"
"Again, derailing love."
Slamming the knife down she glared at him, "NO. I'M NOT. BECAUSE THOSE F***ERS THINK WE'RE COLLUDING OR SOMETHING AND EVERY OTHER BAD GUY THINKS I'M AN EASY TARGET AND ALL I WANT TO DO IS BAKE AND MAKE MY COFFEE BREWS IN PEACE BUT NOOOOO IF I HAD TO FALL IN LOVE WITH A MAN, IT HAD TO BE YOU! FIVE F****ING HARGREEVES, THE SAME MAN WHO WAS LYING TO ME LIKE I WAS LYING TO HIM."
"....Are you?"
"Am I what Five?" she sighed.
"In love with me."
"No, I was baking an apology cake for my deceased parents- OFCOURSE  I AM"
"You could've just brought me a coffee you know," he muttered, taking his coat off, rolling his sleeves up as he came and stood next to her. "What are you doing?" she asked, peering up at him confused.
"Well, I'd like to help you bake, I don't really have any experience, but I can assist you." he smiled down at her, watching her let out a nervous giggle.
"So, I'm forgiven?"
"Was never really mad at you...was mad at myself for having such poor skills to not see the signs before."
"Yeah- you're preeeettty slow heheh"
"Okay, no need to test the water, hmm love? Anyway, this cake isn't for me anymore, I want to bake an apology cake for Allison?"
"Oh, why is that?"
As Five stared at Klaus, telling him to go to her, he shook his head, muttering a no. He was in no mood of going to see her right now, or ever again- fk everything man. That is until a third person joined them, "She wasn't lying you know, I'm an actress I can tell."
"Thank you for your expert opinion, sister mine, but I don't care."
"You know Five," she began, sitting down next to Klaus, "I don't you're mad at her, no, I think you're mad at yourself. The great Five Hargreeves, Reginald's favorite child was duped by a government agent for three years in a row. I bet, if tonight didn't happen, you still wouldn't have figured it out-"
"Allison" Klaus hissed, "you're not helping."
"Aren't I Klaus? I mean, we always have to cope with him, no? Make sure everyone meets his expectations, catch up with Five, and for once, someone out there actually outraces him and this little bitch can't handle it?"
Klaus looked at Five who was glaring at Allison who was merrily glaring back at him.
"What do you want Allison?"
"For you to accept the truth Five, I'll be gone by morning and won't see you until one of you die or gets married. But Y/N, well you won't see her ever after tonight if you don't go to her now."
"And that's why I came tonight- hard to say I can't stand her, but she was right." he shrugged, grabbing onto the pipe of frosting, staring at it as she took the cake out of the oven. "That's very sweet of her...twisted, but very sweet. She wasn't wrong though, I was just planning on leaving you the cake and disappearing." Placing it on the rack to cool down she side, wiping her hands with the apron, looked up at him staring at the baby blue frosting pipe.
"What's wrong?" she asked, confused.
"I've known you for three years, yet, we've never used frosting."
"Not.in.my.kitchen."
"Upstairs?"
"....Hahaha- the cake needs an hour to cool down anyway" she wrestled with her apron, leaving the kitchen as he followed suit, throwing his apron somewhere in the process, going upstairs as they let the cake cool down.

Lee!Five - Ler!Klaus
Post Series
Might be a little ooc but it's fiiine
Summary: Five is finally being hit by everything, and what better way to help him out than to bring back something simple and familiar?
Five laid there on his bed (futon), just staring up at the ceiling. Processing. He had time traveled, gotten stuck in the post apocalyptic future for 43 years, leaving his family behind, killed people, came back as a child, barely survived three apocalyptic ends, so much more, and... it was finally catching up to him. He exhaled, long and slow.
Due to the deal Allison made with Reginald, they all were alive. Powerless, but alive. And Five was still in his child body, meaning no one believed him that he was 58, and he couldn't buy his own house yet, so he just bounced around from sibling to sibling, whoever would let him stay a few nights.
A few of his siblings had offered to let him just fully move in, and he had considered it, he really had, but he decided against it. He was an old man at heart and mind, he didn't want to feel like he was being taken care of -even if deep down he knew he probably needed it to some degree- so currently, he was staying with Klaus, in an apartment.
"Hey, Fivers.." Speak of the devil. Five didnt even move his head, he just flicked his eyes over to Klaus, who stood in the doorway. "Hm?"
"Hate to barge in like this, but I couldn't help but notice you looked so... sad?" Klaus sat on the futon next to his older-younger brother. Five snorted. "After everything we've been through, 'sad' is an understatement." Five said, looking back up at the ceiling.
Klaus nodded. "Yeah, that's... that's fair. That's really fair." Silence hung in the air for a moment, while Klaus looked down at Five. The poor kid guy looked exhausted, like he carried the weight of the world on his shoulders. In a way, he had. Three times.
Klaus leaned back against the couch part of the futon, in thought. Suddenly, he got an idea. "Hey, Five, if you'll trust me-" "I know I shouldn't, especially after you've said that, but go on." "-I think I know what may help."
Intrigued, Five propped himself up on his elbows. "I hope you don't mean dr-" "No, no, I'm clean now. But back when I was fighting in the war, there was something Dave used to do that would help me relax." Almost immediately, Five laid back down. "Klaus, I'm flattered and a little creeped out, but not interested." Klaus was tempted to bring up the fact that Five had actually made a joke, but he decided to do it later. "No, it wasn't anything like that, it was just a way to calm me down on real bad nights. If you'll trust me, I'd like to try it with you. You need it, buddy, trust me."
Five thought for a moment. "Fine. I doubt you could make it any wORSE-" As soon as the words left his lips, Klaus had pulled him into his lap. Five started to get up but Klaus gently held his shoulders. "No no, it's okay, this is part of it, you're fine! I'm not gonna mess with ya.. Well- Not much. Give me your hand." Five hesitantly laid back down and gave Klaus his hand.
Klaus started to very gently trace light circles against his palm. When Five snorted and closed his fist, pulling away, Klaus chuckled. "Oh right, I forgot your hands were bad. Let's try somewhere a little less sensitive." Before Five could question what he was doing, Klaus had pushed his shirt up to just under his ribs, starting to lightly trace and tap around his tummy.
Five felt his face and ears get red as he hid his face. He tried to blink away- right. No powers anymore. He decided to just keep his face covered as he giggled into his hands. "Fuck- Klahaus! Whyhy?" The Former-Seance just grinned. "It's hard to think about the bad things while you're getting tickled, isn't it?"
He was right. Five found it quite difficult to think about that while giggling, laying across his brother's lap. In fact, it had the opposite effect. Five was remembering a time when they were kids, this was a thing Klaus had done back then, too. He was always one to give cheer-up tickles to him and his siblings after a rough day. He felt a mix of comfort and nostalgia spread throughout his chest, coming out in the form of much lighter, more bubbly giggles. He hadn't even noticed.
Klaus grinned down at him. "Aw, look at you! You're actually giggling and staying in place, you haven't rolled away once!"
Oh, right.. His reputation.. He was supposed to not like this. Five raised an arm to cover his mouth as he turned his head away, but Klaus just upped the tickles and skittered up his ribs and toward his underarm. Five slammed his arm down as his giggles turned frantic. "Dohohon't!" "Don't what?" "Tihickl- I'M NAHAT THAT DUHUMB!" "Ah, I almost gotcha though."
Klaus fluttered his fingers around Five's ears and under his chin, which resulted in an adorable little snort, then found his way back to his tummy, getting bubbly giggles, then to his hips, which made Five buck and let out a real belly laugh. Yet he still hadn't really protested or tried to get away.
When Klaus squeezed his knee, Five shot up and grabbed his hand. "KLAHAUS!!" He paused to catch his breath, giggles still flooding out of his chest. Klaus smiled warmly. "Just gentle tickles? Calm?" Five just nodded and repeated, "Calm."
Five laid back down, covered his face, and giggled softly into the room, the way he used to before everything happened, back when he was still a somewhat normal 13 year old spending the night in his brother's room after a hard day. And for the first time in a very long time, he felt safe.

Diego agere headcanons
Regresses young and is almost never older than 4
Probably one of the most frequent regressors out of his siblings
He has been regressing since Ben died and has gotten a pretty solid handle on it during the years he lived alone. It's usually pretty easy for him to either put himself in or keep himself out of his headspace
He loves the feeling of being little and he knows for sure that it’s something that has really helped him over the years
Little Diego gets a bit clumsy in his movements but he is usually able to do most of the things big diego can even if he doesn't do them quite as neatly
His stutter usually comes back big time when he regresses and he prefers to babble or hum rather than talk
Little Diego is an absolute angel. He is inquisitive and always eager to help out
He does nap however he needs someone else to be in charge of making him go to sleep. If he’s regressed on his own he won’t realize he's tired and then wont take a nap until he gets super cranky and frustrated and has no choice but to give in to exhaustion
He loves physical touch when regressed and could happily spend his entire day curled up in someone's arms
He really likes the baby toys where you put the different shapes into their correct holes. He also loves stories and has a big collection of children's books. He gets excited about superhero cartoons as well and likes to mimic the fighting poses of the hero’s on the screen
Big puffed rice lover. He also really enjoys convenience store foods like pop tarts and twinkies. Thinks he never got to try when he was growing up
He owns a lot of bottles, sippy cups, and those no spill snack cups
He does have some toys. Some of them were gifts from Eudora that she got him while she was his caregiver and one of two are things that he bought himself. He has one or two lego sets and a couple hotwheels. He also has a lot of baby toys that make fun sounds or light up and an army of stuffed animals
When he said goodbye to Grace and left home she gave him a package with all of his baby things that she had managed to save and keep from reginald including the blue baby blanket he was swaddled in when he was brought to the academy. They are all very dear to him. Additionally, after Eudora's death the things that she had gifted him became precious. He was devastated when their time travel took him away from them for so long
He has to be dressed in loose soft clothing while little or he will whine and cry. If he doesn't manage to change before slipping fully into headspace then Diego will perform the toddler act of aggressively pulling off all of his clothing while acting like they are strangling him. Little diego also has so much beef with shoes for literally no reason
He has several pacis that he rotates through. He really can’t sleep without one in while regressed
He wears diapers or pull ups the majority of the time while little
He suspects that Grace knew about his regression when he first started doing it.
He tells Klaus (and by extension Ben) about his regression first and five finds out pretty soon after. Allison also figures it out pretty quickly. He tells Luther about his regression after finding out that Luther also regresses. He tells Viktor after he comes out in an attempt to try and start to rebuild trust between the two of them and as something of a peace offering. Lila clocks him as a regressor right away due to the fact that she also regresses but he didn't find out till much later.
Diego has always needed and wanted a caregiver. For a long time that was Eudora until their relationship fell apart. After that he and Lila made a deal to watch over one another while they were little. Eventually he started to allow his siblings to watch over him as well even eventually letting sparrow Ben watch him
He called Eudora mommy. After her death he couldn’t bring himself to use that title for anyone else. Lila is occasionally mama and he will usually use a butchered version of his siblings names when talking to them

The Umbrella Academy, Ep. 2x08 - The Seven Stages
Real life intruded hard the last few months and, wow, this is not a show to stop watching in the middle of a season. Fortunately, this episode was more straight forward then others, so it didn’t take to long for me to remember what was going on. It also means this will be a shorter recap.
Now that his plan has gone sideways, Five is pissed.  Well, more pissed then usual.  Luther tells Klaus to go find what happened to Allison, while Luther deals with Five. Turns out, Five has another plan. However, it’s very risky as it involves meeting up with his younger (older) self and convincing him to let them use the briefcase.  However, crossing your own timeline has dangerous side effects and it’s very clear that both of them are suffering from those side effects by the end of the episode. See, older Five tells younger Five why they need the briefcase and, in exchange, he’ll give younger Five the correct calculations in order for him to go home.  However, in the bathroom, Luther lets it slip that the apocalypse was caused by Vanya’s trauma.  Younger Five tells Luther that the best thing would be for the two of them to travel back before the apocalypse and try to help Vanya.  And that’s where this part leaves off.
Meanwhile, Lila convinces The Handler to take Diego in as a new recruit.  The Handler makes it clear that, if things go wrong, it will be on Lila’s head.  Lila takes Diego to the new recruit training class.  So, Diego is in this class, a film is showing, and the teacher is asleep. The film, which is showing the different parts of the Commission, brings up The Switchboard; which basically shows all of time.  Diego leaves the class and goes to the switchboard.  There, he comes in contact with another worker who is part of the resistance against The Handler and also seems to be a fan of The Umbrella Academy. Diego asks the worker to bring up the day JFK is assassinated; but something is wrong.  History is changed because a nearby building blows up and JFK is whisked away to safety.  This building that blows up is what cause the nuclear fallout between United States and Russia.  Diego asks to see a different view of that building and discovers that the explosion comes from Vanya.
See, while this is going on, Vanya has been captured by the FBI; who think she’s a Russian spy.  They douse her with LSD and start to torture her. However, the LSD sends her on a journey into her mind where she finds herself at dinner with her family whose about to dine on brains.
Back at the Commission, Diego and the worker are able to procure a briefcase and land in Allison’s living room (Lila will later discover Diego has fled).  At the beginning of the episode, Klaus meets up with Allison and Ray and now the three (er, four as Ben is there) are trying to get rid of the body of Swede number two.  Fortunately, the worker says he can get rid of the body for them.  Diego tells Klaus and Allison about what they learned. Allison tearfully says goodbye to Ray and they go the FBI building.
As the trio ride up the elevator, the FBI agent is currently using electricity to torture Vanya.  And, because she’s not responding, he turns it up. Meanwhile, in her mind Hargreeves is telling Vanya that her amnesia is because she doesn’t want to remember and he keeps pushing for her to eat the brain in front of her.  Which she does.  This causes her memories to start to come back.  However, due to the memories returning and the electrical current flowing through her body; her powers activate tenfold.  What’s more, we keep cutting back to Harland and it becomes clear that whatever flowed through Vanya into him has connected them.  As her body starts having seizures, so does his. And suddenly his eyes change color and he starts to yell no.
The episode ends with, the three Hargreeves siblings trying to get to Vanya; but are trapped because of Vanya’s growing powers.
Before I end this, just a few more things to mention that are going to be important (most likely) in the last two episodes.  The one surviving Swede has come to the realization that the cannister they thought was from The Commission was fake and that The Handler had set them up.   Meanwhile, Grace finds Hargreeves’ secret room and plans about JFK.  She confronts Hargreeves about these plan, but he can’t tell her what’s really going on and so she decides to leave him.

Klaus/Diego(POV)
A month
31 days
And Five still hadn't came back
Everyone blamed themselves for what had happened.
Especially himself, he had lied to the others and to Five about Ben, yet he still hadn't come forth to everyone. Diego never brought the topic up to him again knowing what had happened that night with both brother's cuddled up in one another.
"You know this would be the last thing he would want you to be doing Klaus," Ben hovered over him as he threw back what might've been his 9th shot of whiskey.
"Shut up, Ben," He tried pulling his coat further over his head to block out his ghost brother but with no prevail. He finally caved in to talking to his brother he had been trying to ignore the whole day
"Come on Klaus, 3 weeks down the drain everyone's worried about Five but you can't stay intoxicated until he comes back."
"Watch me," his words were beginning to slur as he tried to order another shot. Klaus raised the shot glass and signaled to the bartender as he slammed the glass back on the bar, black lipstick smeared where he had drank from.
"No can do Klaus, that was your last call, cut off time already so you get water," the bartender knew him personally much like his friend whom was a paramedic.
"Is it at least flavored water," he asked as the glass was placed in front of him.
"I can make you a non-alcoholic drink if you prefer that to water," he was leaning against the counter talking to Klaus. It was a slow night and already 1am.
"When do I do non-alcoholic, Matt?" Klaus joked as he laid his head down on his arms.
Matt shook his head at Klaus, "is someone coming to pick you up? Brother, sister, girlfriend,  boyfriend if you have one yet."
"He's right Klaus you can't walk home all fucked up like that, at least let him call Diego for you," Ben's voice was laced with desperation to his older brother.
"No one's coming, just me, Myself, and I tonight, Matty," Klaus was given a questioning glance from the bartender as he took a drink of his water.
"You sure, I practically have your brother's number memorized. I can call him for you." Klaus frantically shook his head, "he's gonna be mad at me." Words he would never say slipped out due to his nine plus whiskey shots he drank minutes ago.
"Klaus, Di is never mad at you as long as he knows you're safe," Ben's words passed right over Klaus as the séance ignored him.
"He usually seems almost relieved whenever he walks in here to take you home, seems like a good big brother."
Klaus smiled to himself, Diego was a good brother he couldn't deny that. But for him he never considered himself a good brother in return. More often than not he felt more like a failure compared to everyone or a bother than an actual brother. He was always just the druggie or junkie brother who could see the dead.
"He is, just I never told anyone I was going out so they're probably all frantically looking for me like ants when they lose their line." Matt laughed at Klaus' comparison for his siblings.
"Well, like I said I know his number I can always call him up for you, I don't mind."
Klaus gasped, "Matty do you like my brother?" The bartender chuckled and looked at Klaus, "Cute, but not my type." He finished polishing a glass before looking at his watch.
"You think my big brother wouldn't bottom for you," Klaus chuckled as Matt's eyes widened.
"The way he's dressed, Definitely not… are you implying something Klaus?"
Klaus shrugged his shoulders as he stood from the bar stool, "I mean my little sister is possibly bi, kinda always thought at least one of the other 5 were, you know…. too."
"Well I think you and me can both agree your brother doesn't look like the one to hook up with someone that looks like me nor you."
Klaus started moving away from the bar slowly, his strides wobbly and staggered, "You never know Matty old pal." He pushed open the bar door slipping out into the dark night.
"What are you gonna do… Walk home Klaus!? It's almost 2 in the morning and you're drunk out of your mind." Klaus waved his hand to shoot Ben away as he staggered down the sidewalk.
The alcohol already was hitting his system as he made his way to the familiar place he spent most of his adult life. A guy about his height stood at the end of the end of the dark alleyway as he made his way over to the familiar guy.
Klaus dug in his coat pocket and waved a wad of cash in front of the guy while the man pulled out a small bag filled with pills that his body was craving. They both exchanged items as Klaus quickly made his way out of the alleyway and walked down towards a busser area.
Young women and men alike stood at a designated place. Almost all of them were dressed in clothes similarly to how he was dressed walking up to cars that would stop and pass by. Some climbed in the cars that stopped while others would walk back to their group of people as the car's drove away.
Eye quickly glued to him as he walked past the area. His chest was practically bare with the black lacy see through crop-top he had on along with his tight leather pants and leather heeled boots. His fur coat hung from his shoulders as he brought up his finger to fix his black lipstick, had been drinking not through a straw he knew it was probably smeared in most places.
He took notice of some cars that slowed down as certain windows were rolled down as he paid no attention to them. He wrapped his coat closed and crossed his arms over his chest and walked faster out of the area Klaus knew exactly what it was.
"Hey, love wanna head back to my place?" A man, about his age asked. He was leaning against his opened window with one arm while the other hung over the steering wheel. He Slowly followed in his car while Klaus picked up his pace and walked faster away from the creep.
"Sorry, my body's not for sale tonight." Klaus could hear the clicking of his boots as he reached into his pocket pulling out a lighter and a cigarette. Lighting it he noticed the humming of the engine that belonged to the car no longer sounded like it was a parrot on his shoulder. He succeeded in taking in a puff from the cancer stick before he heard Ben gasp behind him. A hand grabbed his upper arm spinning him back around.
The guy was now in front of him as his car was parked a few feet back, "then what's a cute thing like you doing dressed like this and in this area?" The man moved his hand to grab Klaus' wrist while his other one snaked to his lower back. The cigarette previously in his hand had dropped to the ground as surprise stunned him for a couple seconds.
His eyes roamed Klaus' body as Klaus tried to pull away out of the man's grip with no prevail. He noticed the situation caught the attention of some of the other men and women in the area as they looked over, some watching to see how far it goes.
"I was just passing through and this is how I always dress." His words slurred slightly, enough for the man to realise Klaus was drunk as the hand on his lower back moved slightly south and he was pulled closer to the man. His body was pressed slightly up against the perverts with his face lingering close to Klaus' ear.
"Well I can just give you a ride to where you're going, yeah? That way a pretty sweet boy like you is not in this area anymore and mistaken for something you're not." His words had this hidden white lie behind them and we're spoken with a lightness as if to not scare him away.
Before he could get his drunk, drugged induced body to cooperate he was tugged slightly to the car. He tried to pull away but his body was like jello and not listening to his brain. He heard chatter grow more amongst the group of people, some yelling things while he heard Ben doing the same, unable to physically do anything though. He was tugged closer to the car before he heard heavy fast footsteps near him.
"Hey!"
'Thank goodness'
"Let go of him." The voice was familiar to Klaus.
A arm caught his weight as the man pushed him away scurrying to his car before driving away. He felt the presence of a taller man as the hand holding him up gingerly wrapped onto his petite frame. Klaus turned his head towards the hand that was still gripping onto him as he moved his gaze up to a familiar face.
"Matt….?"
The 6'3 bartender in front of Klaus pulled him gently in the direction of his car and slid Klaus into the passenger seat before sliding into the driver's seat. "Are you okay?" He saw his eyes glance over Klaus before moving to start the car up.
"What-Why are you here?" Klaus didn't know why the guy he only saw when he wanted alcohol was here saving him from some creep.
"You know Klaus a 'Thank you' would be in order for him?" Klaus ignored Ben's comment as he continued to look at Matt.
"Because I called your brother to come pick you up…..I didn't realise you ventured off that far in such a short amount of time." Klaus didn't know what to say, he didn't want Diego to come pick him up and be a bother to his brother. Yet in the same way he wanted to go home he also wanted to stay out on the streets where he could obtain all the drugs he wanted. His rested head on the window felt heavier and heavier, probably from the drugs and alcohol in his system but also due to the fact it was 2 in the morning.
"It's always today…….. did something happen on this date, Klaus?"
Klaus wanted to close his eyes and pretend the last month maybe few were all just a fever dream. The apocalypse coming twice, spending 3 years in the 60s and forming a cult, vietnam and meeting Dave, then meeting him again only to further insure he would get killed. Five coming back home and then finding out little sweet Vanya had very deadly powers probably more than all of them combined.
Then Five left again this time no one knew for how long and once again the family was falling apart. Certain siblings acted as glue and once the glue left everything else crumbled and fell to the ground. He looked up to the rearview mirror seeing where Ben was sitting in the middle back seat.
"Yeah, something did...a long time ago."
~
Diego chucked a file onto his desk startling the rest of the team that were in today. Everyone turned towards him as he ran his hand over his face before talking.
"10-year-boy, went missing 24 hours ago, was last seen at the park downtown by his 19 year old sister…… the case was handed off to us because nearby surveillance cameras caught him leaving with a man in the same grey trench coat and top hat as the 7-year-old girl who went missing four weeks ago in her own front yard."
He threw the other file in his hand on his desk as he circled around and grabbed another file from the cabinets. His throat felt dry as he began to speak about the next thing.
"A 13-year-old boy that went missing 10 days ago was found this morning by some tourist in the middle of a forest…. The MO is consistent with our guy. He was sexually assulted and mutilated on many parts of his body."
He put his weight against his desk as all the others started reading through the files. He didn't know how he was getting sleep at night with everything going on. If he could consider one to two hours sufficient sleep.
The sun had set hours ago as only ceiling LED lights and lamps kept the place illuminated. They all had loved ones waiting at their individual homes for them to return home to.
"Hey, Hargreeves" his head shot up at his last name with Nico waving him over.
"The cap wants you in his office," he gestured over towards the office up against the wall by the far right. He nodded his head as he made his was over to the door, letting himself in and closing it behind him.
"What's up Lupo?"
"The thing with your brother….have you had any leads on it." Diego took a breath and sent his gaze to the floor.
"Were not sure where he's at exactly, but nothing has drastically changed so we know he hasn't messed with the timeline yet."
"And that missing persons report you filed on him?"
Diego shoved his hands into his pockets, "Just a precaution in case anything did happen to him." A moment of silence passed by till Lupo spoke.
"You know Kraken you can take a day off every once and a blue moon, i've known you for sometime now and one thing I learned about you is that you never take a break."
Diego scoffed, "a break is the last thing I need right now Lupo, what I need is to find this bastard doing all this and get my little brother back home."
Lupo lit a cigar in his mouth taking a puff out of it, "tell everyone to head home it's getting late, you guys are on this case like a pack of bloodhounds sent to track a sent."
Diego turned around towards the door with his hand on the doorknob, "If only we were as good as the bloodhounds." Diego stepped through the door letting it fall back into place as he stepped out to the team.
Moving feet followed by lights flickering off and goodbyes were sent each other's way as they all made it to their individual cars. Diego slid into the drivers seat as his phone buzzed in his pocket. He started the car before taking a glance at the caller ID.
He pulled the phone to his ear, "what's up Allison."
"Did Klaus tell you anything about him leaving to do something today or where he was going." Allison's voice sounded bothered, almost frantic in a way.
"No why? What happened?" Diego had his hand on the steering wheel waiting for Allisons response.
"He just disappeared a couple hours ago without telling anyone, I thought he had been in his room the whole time but apparently not."
Diego cursed under his breath as he started to drive to the academy, "by a couple of hours how long do you mean?"
"I don't know six maybe seven?"
He gripped the steering wheel tighter as he turned the corner, Klaus ...... "I'll be there in a couple minutes. Did you check the rest of the house?"
He heard Allison talking to somebody then redirected back to him, "Vanya's checking the last of the places right now."
Diego was worried and frustrated at the same time yet all he could tell them was he was on his way.
----
"So you're just gonna let our little brother be out when we know he could possibly be hurt or other worse things!" Diego brought his hand up running it over his face.
The three eldest siblings were gathered in the living after they had searched the house for Klaus and no one could find him. Vanya was checking last places that she knew he might be which left the three alone with each other.
"Diego we don't even know if he's out doing something or not." Allison tried to argue with Diego as Luther stood beside her.
"Al you know exactly what he is doing right this second, don't play dumb!"
"She has a point, Diego, we're not gonna waste our time searching the city for him." Diego clenched his jaw at Luther's words as Vanya stepped into the room.
"Klaus isn't a waste of time you asshole." He tightened his fist as Vanya interrupted the conversation which Diego was glad she did.
"I still can't find him……. I'm really worried." Diego walked over, hooked his arm around Vanya and pulled her closer to him. He felt her arms wrap around him as he kept his hand on her back.
"Of all day's Luther, I think you'd at least care a bit…..just on this day." Diego's urge to try to knock some sense into the eldest sibling was held back by his sister hugging him.
"It's not that I don't care Diego, we all know what Klaus does!" Diego bit his lip trying to gather his words before speaking.
"What Luther?! What exactly does he do since you apparently know everything despite you hardly caring about him?!"
"Diego...please don't." He looked down at Vanya as she laid her hand on his arm.
"He goes and gets high off his ass, we all know this Diego." Diego crossed his arms over his chest.
"Yeah and? Do you know about all the times he's OD? Or possibly all the times he's been pushed around in the streets… he actually tries Luther, he's the one that checks himself into rehab not anyone else, he wants help but because he's surrounded by ghosts all the time it permits him from getting clean."
He moved away from Vanya out of fear of hurting her if he got mad and slightly paced up and down the small area where they were standing in the living room.
"Yes Ben died t-today, why do you think Klaus went out in the first place….when everything with Five happened he kept relapsing because what do you expect! If Five actually did fucking die this time I don't think he would want to know that!" He noticed when his voice slightly cracked when he brought up Ben and Five.
Silence brooded over the room with only the faint echo of Diego's voice still ringing in everyone's ears and the cracking of the wood in the fireplace. Allison moved over and sat in one of the chairs by the fireplace with her hand over her mouth, While Vanya slowly sat down on the couch behind them eyes trained to one spot on the ground. He saw the realisation hit them all that Five could indeed be gone forever.
That afternoon after they had run into his room, he had gone into the station and put in that missing person report. He didn't want to risk something else that happened to Five getting mixed up with them thinking he just time traveled somewhere. Even though they were all guaranteed that he time traveled somewhere, the fact that he was already gone for a month made them all more on edge.
The fear that crept up on him causing his mouth to go dry and his hands to become clammy made him sick to his stomach everytime they found a young boy's body dumped somewhere. The anxiety would leave but the thought of Five still being out somewhere in time or even possibly locked away somewhere would bombard his mind.
"I'm going out to look for Klaus, It's your guys choice to join me if you want." He walked out of the living room gathering his keys and coat before exiting the Academy.
Something hung in the air that he couldn't quite place his finger on but knew the feeling too well. The inability to take a deep breath, like everything kept moving around him but he was in a standstill. Or exactly the opposite, the world was moving too fast and he couldn't catch up. Lights sped by as well as different establishments. This sparked a feeling Diego hated and wanted to get rid of
The city quickly became ingrained into his head like a language, every twist and turn felt automatic. Searching the streets for their youngest brother relentlessly tired him out the first day he was gone. The second day felt like he was denying everything and anything. In a way he wished he was still in the same year somewhere where he could be found. Diego wanted to find him and wanted to bring the small boy home.
He continued to search and look past different bars or clubs of any kind. At this point he didn't know if he was looking for the séance or Five. He hopped down at several places, most being able to say if they had seen his brother and they automatically knew who he was talking about. Others he pulled up a picture of Klaus on his phone and showed bouncers or bartenders. In the end he got a no in return or reference of another bar or club to check.
The shut his car door and slipped into the leather seats pulling his seat belt across his chest. After the 5th bar and the 3rd club he still hadn't the faintest clue of where Klaus was. A part of him wanted to turn back around and go home knowing their brother might return in the morning. But the word 'might' scared him and forced himself to keep driving.
The ringing of his phone startled him as he started to doze off at the wheel, accidentally swerving into the other lane. He pulled into the nearest rest stop and took his phone looking at the caller ID.
It was someone of not much importance that he didn't bother to spend the ten seconds to put it into his contacts. But enough that he recognized the seven digits that were displayed on his screen.
"Hello?" He answered the phone unsure if the voice on the other end would be familiar or it was his sleep deprived brain telling him that the digits in that order made sense.
"Oh Diego right? It's Matt the bartender from the bar your little brother comes to."
Everything quickly clicks in his head as he switches his turn signal on, pulling out of where he stopped momentarily and into the turning lane.
"Yeah, Is he there?" Please let him be there.
"Not at the moment, he left a minute or two ago. But I can go grab him before he wanders too far or gets hurt." Even though this was just some bartender he could hear the slight worry in his tone for Klaus.
"Thank you, I'll be right there." The line ended abruptly on both ends but he didn't think about it, only trying to remember the way to the bar his brother frequented so very often.

Tumblr media
Yo dudes Imma make this so sad just angst though and though. I also did a bit of mixing of Teen Wolf's Hellhound and some of my own ideas.
Warnings: Heavy angst
Human was what Y/N was unlike his younger twin Hope who was in all sense all powerful. Ever since their birth Y/N was over shadowed by Hope as he didn't understand when it happen but his family began to ignore him and favor Hope. As the once proud Klaus showing off his first born son was now ignored his son and all his attention was on Hope.
"Not now Y/N, Hope needs my help." Was what Y/N heard over the years as he got older, now while Hope took after Hayley. Y/N was more like their father than anyone care to notice as the boy loved art like his father, had mostly Klaus's features but more dangerously Y/N inherited Klaus's temper something Marcel learned the hard.
"Y/N is only human Marcel. He can't harm you." Rebekah told the vampire after Marcel had told her that the boy had stabbed him the throat with a butter knife. At age seventeen now Y/N was used to being alone and having anger for his family how they seemly pretend he wasn't a Mikaelson.
"Where ya going kiddo?" Marcel asked seeing the teen putting on his shoes and had his backpack with him. Y/N looked at the vampire with a glare as Marcel was used to the anger in the boys eyes and mentally cursed the Mikaelsons for not keeping an eye on boy as there was nothing more dangerous than an angry Mikaelson with nothing to lose.
"Why would you care? Do yourself a favor and stop caring for the useless Mikaelson." Y/N tells Marcel anger bleeding though his words as he left the compound and headed for the woods. The woods was where Y/N spent most of his time to draw or to let his anger out but like his father he still held onto it. Y/N sat drawing weird circles that he had been seeing in his dreams lately then got up seeing it was getting dark and as he walked home he was attacked by two vampires.
"Man Klaus is going to pay. And what better way than to drain his kid and leaving the body on his door step."
"Yeah I guess he should have kept a better eye on the weakling." The vampire holding Y/N said and a flood of anger filled Y/N just as the vampire sank his fangs into the boy's neck when there was a sudden burning. The vampire let the boy go pushing roughly as he screamed and Y/N watch the vampire burst into flames.
"What do you do to my friend brat." Vampire two growled grabbing Y/N by his throat and the boy growled deeply as his eyes flashed red. The anger of years being ignored and loneliness was let loose as Y/N tore the heart from the vampire's chest. As things calmed down Y/N was surprised and stared as his hands as happiness bubbled in his chest as he realized he wasn't useless and maybe his family would care for him again.
"Dad! Mom!" Y/N shouted running into the compound with a grin that fell as he noticed he could hear everything but his family. Y/N found they left him so he made up his mind grabbing a bigger backpack his packed his things and didn't bother to leave a note.
"Fine I'll leave and get stronger without them if they don't want me then fine." Y/N growled as he left his childhood home not looking back. Two months, it took two months for someone in the family to notice that Y/N wasn't around but they brushed it off as the human boy was with Marcel but no he was in the mountains of Montana with an older man that Y/N ran into his week away from home. The man whose name was Alias, was an Hellhound that was almost as old as the boy's family and Alias took the boy in trained him to control his hound form and hellfire which when Y/N learned he could do that the boy was excited.
"Calm yourself pup." Alias told him as he had the boy sit in front of a fire the first day of training. At first Alias was annoyed with Y/N at first but the boy grew on him and the older Hellhound became a father figure to Y/N.
"Hey Al why are in the mountains?" Y/N asked following the man.
"Going to train you in the cold so you could control molten lava veins. From there we are going to wake your full potential, pup."
"Why the cold?"
"Can't risk you burning yourself until you get control." Alias tells Y/N as they came up to a cabin. While in New Orleans Hope and Freya was trying to find the older twin with a locater spell but so far they came up with nothing.
"Where could he be Elijah?" Klaus growled pacing angry that his first born was gone. Elijah watched Klaus closely while Kol called Davina to come help.
"I understand you are upset Niklaus but we will find the boy." Elijah said as Hayley came in crossing her arms.
"The wolves lost his scent just out of the city." Hayley said getting everyone's attention as they hoped they could find the boy soon. A year passed and Y/N had unlocked his full potential and had bested Alias many times in training. But sadly the boy's father figure had passed and Alias had passed his family Crest to the boy asking him to spead his ashes in New Orleans.
"Don't worry about me, pup. You'll fine as you are strong." Alias told Y/N the night he passed as their foreheads touched and in his honor Y/N howled and swore he hear othe Hellhounds howled too. Y/N walked though the streets of New Orleans carrying the urn holding Alias's ashes while on his way home Y/N had ran into other Hellhounds apologize for his lost and if he needed anything they were happy to help.
"Y/N?" Y/N heard Hope's voice and he turned saw his sister who shocked to see him. Y/N was no long thin and kinda scrawny, he was now lean with muscles with five a clock shadow on his nice jaw line.
"Hope." Y/N said his tone not welcoming surprising Hope as she eyes looked at the urn in his arms. Someone called out for Hope making her turn to see who it was then looked back to find Y/N gone and pulled out her phone calling Hayley.
"Mom, I found Y/N."
"May you find peace dad." Y/N said speading Alias's ashes in the bayou at a cabin the old hound had and left to Y/N.
"Here I thought I was your father?" Klaus said smirking stepping out from the tree line and Y/N looked over his shoulder seeing his father.
"You stopped being my father when I turned six." Y/N said looking back out at the lake as Klaus frowned watching his son. There was something was different about his son and Klaus couldn't put his finger on it but he was going to find out. Y/N was annoyed that suddenly his family would come out to see him while just shut them out and they still didn't know he was a Hellhound.
"How you have fallen hybrid. Your son hates you and now your dau ......." the vampire was cut off by a huge black hound jumped on his chest growling as it tore his thoat out. The hound had glowing orange eyes as it growled killing the rest of the vampires saving Hope and Klaus.
"Is it a wolf, dad?" Hope asked watching the hound look back at them as something about it was haunting.
"No. It is bigger than a wolf." Klaus said as it ran off and both followed it to find it was Y/N come morning.
"Fuck." Y/N muttered rolling his sore shoulders as he still wasn't used to shifting at night going inside to take a cold shower to cool down. Y/N sat down studying a few old books he gotten on his travels as his door opened and Klaus walked in with Elijah and Hayley following.
"Yes please come in Klaus." Y/N said annoyed not looking up from his book.
"You have failed to me you are a Hellhound."
"Because it was none of your business. I made it clear I want nothing to do with any of you."
"Then why come home?"
"If you must know Hayley, I am carrying after my father as protector." Y/N told Hayley there was anger in his voice as Elijah saw the anger in the young Hellhound's eyes that reminded the older Original of Klaus.
"Protector?"
"Yeah, now If you excuse me I got work to do." Y/N said walking out leaving them as they realize they had years of anger and loneliness to undo from the young man unsure if Y/N will ever forgive the family.

Are you into my hero academia? What about an AU or crossover with tua?
UHHHH I am technically, like, peripherally? I watched some seasons of the show like two or three years ago and since then have simply absorbed all content through osmosis, reading fanfiction that has canon events, and my sister telling me about the arcs of her fav characters lmao
so a crossover hmmm
First of all you'd have to like, establish whether bnha is an alternate universe or just The Future If No Apocalypse with quirks being traced back to the descendants of the kids born without mothers
So let's say it's that - the glowing baby was the "first quirk" but the truth is people had powers before that. But - well, the Umbrella Academy was obviously a marketing gimmick to those in the future! There were even comics based on them
In the future, you might find some of those comics in museum exhibits dedicated to depictions of powers in the pre-quirk era, but they're just fun depictions and much less popular than, oh, DC or MCU comics which are also in the exhibits!
End of s2 doesn't happen I guess in this au?? No sparrow academy at least lmao. So, the Umbrella Academy stop the apocalypse (again) and the Commission threat is? Neutralized? Whatever. They decide to jump back to the future
Five warns them that time travel is a crapshoot, that he has no fucking idea when they'll land beyond some nebulous "future" because Five can at least control the direction if not exactly how long
Also, Five is like. Super tired. Incredibly tired. Homeboy still has a healing gut wound, time traveled twice, has been jumping all over the place, gotten even more injured, experienced paradox psychosis, and managed to undo time all in the space of like, two weeks. There actually more than that but we don't have time to get into how fucking tired Five is from his ~Month of Hell
Like genuinely this is like putting someone almost delirious from lack of sleep in the driver's seat of a car and expecting to get to your destination in one piece
But hey, the siblings are like "do it uwu" and Five has sacrificed everything for them already so why not get behind the wheel again
So Five jumps them, and of course something goes wrong because Five has pushed his powers like a great big rubber band and honestly it was only a matter of time before he lost his grip and it snapped back to hit him
So here be the umbrella academy: spilled out into the future like a cup of bad coffee.
Five probably isn't in too good of shape tbh, like they're hundreds of years in the future (but hey at least confirmation of no apocalypse am I right) in a world full of superpowers and Five is like. bleeding from his ears and nose probably idk
Let's handwave a little bit - Reginald made them all polyglots so the squad all speak varying levels of Japanese. Allison is the best at it, Five is second best but tends to use more archaic words bc he had missions in Japan back when he was with the commission, and Klaus is third best.
(Ben is the worst bc he decided when he was 16-and-dead that he didn't have to do anything regarding lessons and maintenance and hasn't given a shit since - but also he's dead so)
So you have a bunch of weird adults with a bleeding child in like, an alley who have appeared from nowhere
so of course heroes get involved
Anyway, the squad get taken in and Five is conscious but like, barely? And he's not going to let himself get separated from his siblings again fuck-you-officer and there is a lot of confusion
anyway detective tsukauchi ends up getting involved and ends up having to hear this batshit story and be like "...truth." which sends all kinds of people scrambling because fucking time travel? Like yeah, it's been theorized to be a possible quirk but there's no recorded cases of any sort of time travel that is for more than 24 hours let alone hundreds of years
"I'm an adult." Five says sourly, "I just happened to be returned to my 13 year old body when I time traveled one time."
"True." Tsukauchi says, feeling his soul leave his body, but like. absently. the way he does when he's called in at 2am after getting off of work at midnight.
"I'm 58." Five says.
"Lie." Tsukauchi says, because this is a headcanon hill I will die on.
"I'm probably 58, but it was hard to keep track. I'm at least 50." Five corrects.
"True." Tsukauchi sighs like these six (seven? they keep referring to another sibling and Klaus said 'ghost' like that was fine and it registered as true and Tsukauchi is not nearly paid enough for this) are not giving him a migraine by just existing
on the bright side there's like, probably protocols in place for individuals who are Legally Chronologically Adults but thanks to quirks are Not Physically Or Not Mentally Adults with tests to determine if the individual needs a guardian or not
though i'm gonna be honest idk if Five would pass the test bc he literally cannot take care of himself at all, has never paid taxes or understands how to exist legally, and also his emotional maturity is stunted as all hell. also like. we don't actually know how much being in his thirteen-year-old body affects his mental state but yeAH Five is vibing
anyway Tsukauchi probably phones a friend on this bullshit because Time Travel Child alone is probably enough for the Hero Commission to be like "find a way to control and use it or nuke it from orbit" and that's not even touching whatever the fuck Klaus is doing (shit gets real once 'dead men tell no tales' stops being true) let ALONE Allison's whole deal
on the bright side like, at least Vanya isn't getting side-eyed that much bc Big Destructive Quirks aren't exactly unknown? if vanya wanted to i guess quirk suppressors exist for that until extensive training on how to control a super powerful quirk happens
Tsukauchi in the group chat: Aizawa please I am literally begging you to take this bullshit on
Aizawa: in this economy? with my class?
RatGod: lol we'll take them ;3c
Aizawa: no
Anyway they probably end up having to live at UA while Five insists on trying to get them home still and everyone else is like "oh hey we used to be child soldiers as well! (:" and Aizawa is like "i hate everything about this and everything about all of you but also like nedzu is making me interact with you so :/"
nedzu is out here vibing like "lol i just don't want the hero commission to get their little paws on these time traveling fuckers, i think you should make then teaching assistants or something"
honestly the siblings are probably like. figuring out how to function in the bnha universe and getting like, legally registered and stuff while Five ferally refuses bc that's like saying he's giving up on getting them home and he can do this
Recovery girl tries to heal him a little when he arrives and he passes out for two weeks like, immediately bc homeboy is running on fumes and spite at this point
also i think on principle it would be REALLY FUNNY if the squad got to tag along with the class bc like. Five is thirteen and the class are all 15. this does not sound like a large age gap. anyone who has interacted with teenagers know that the class would squint at Five and be like "who is this sassy lost middle schooler."
I feel like when I was a sophomore we were still like "freshman... babie" even though we were literally only one year older.
i think the difference between the umbrella academy and school kids would be pretty funny like. objectively the bnha kids are lowkey child soldiers?? like they're 15 and fighting villains but like, there's all this red tape and laws and stuff but,,, deku still be breaking his limbs in a child fighting ring against equally superpowered children for like. entertainment and sponsorships sooo
but also like Five would be like "oh cool when is the experimentation class"
"the what"
"you know, when your powers are pushed real hard by putting you in different terrible situations while your dad and sibling stand by with clipboards writing down the exact voltage it takes before you can't use your powers anymore when being electrocuted"
"hound dog's office is right there. therapy is available to you at any time. i need you to know this."
all might calls Luther "my boy" like one (1) time and Luther just breaks down crying probably because he is starved for positive attention
klaus and midnight get along like a literal house on fire, aizawa tried his best to keep them apart for as long as possible but god damn
(klaus: your name is shimura nana??
all might: immediately dies choking on blood)
i feel it absolutely necessary to point out that aizawa, present mic, and midnight are all like, 30? and the umbrella academy are all between 29-early 30s? they are PEERS but like. the umbrella academy are more chaotic due to childhood trauma
the umbrella academy probably get offered to like. also train to be heroes. i mean,, there HAS to be some sort of track for people who change careers right?? you don't have to cement your future as a hero when you're 15 i'm sure there must be something and the squad already have experience if they want to go be legal heroes
diego probably does at least?? diego just vibes honestly. diego gets momo to make knives during a team exercise and they just go feral on everyone else and it ends with diego highfiving momo and someone getting way to close to being stabbed for comfort
Five might just be. legally enrolled as an Actual Student? But also i think it's funny to picture the entire squad just. all in the back of the classroom with luther trying to fit into a high school desk as they take notes on the laws of The Future surrounding heroics
every word out of the umbrella academy's mouths just make everyone more concerned on principal but like, five and klaus are probably the worst offenders. Klaus just says whatever comes to mind with no filter and Five doesn't get what people would consider to be abnormal anymore like
Five: yeah our dad bought us when we were babies and experimented on us throughout our childhood in order to make an elite team of child soldiers superheroes, it happens
Todoroki: ...have you heard of quirk marriages?
izuku probably has an aneurism bc he's is the only person who might recognize them from the comics because you know ya boy extensively researched the idea of heroics in pre-quirk eras (batman was an inspiration alright???) and might dredge up a memory of a less popular comic series
Five: I can time travel but it is very hard, which is why we are hundreds of years in the future. And why I look like a child.
Kaminari: so are you a kid or not?
Five, serenely: whatever is most convenient for me at any given moment
Mina: hell yeah game the system
they have a brief lesson on astronomy and Luther raises his hand like "ooh! i was isolated on the moon for four years and did SO MUCH research" and then just gets up and starts infodumping like way too much information on the moon
Izuku sitting there like "damn if quirks hadn't popped up we could have achieved so much in terms of space travel. please tell me more giant man who lived in pre-quirk era."
Vanya finds out about the quirkless and is like "oh mood that genuinely sounds like my childhood, being ordinary in a house full of extraordinary people, and then i found out that i did have powers but only much later in life after i had already been emotionally scarred by the experience"
deku: vanya we have so much in common
iida and uraraka: concerned noises
aizawa: hound dog. therapy with hound dog for all of you.
there's probably some conflict with like, the hero commission wanting to get their hands on the time travelers?? but probably especially five and klaus as a) time travel and b) ghosts (the hc def has bodies they would like to stay buried)
five has a pavlovian reaction to anything with 'commission' in the name and hates them on site, probably plays into his age in order to become a ward of UA or something to protect him from the commission a little bit.
(this makes nedzu Five's legal guardian. aizawa has his resignation papers all prepped in a drawer marked 'in case of emergency' but let's be real, if nedzu wants to take over the world aizawa should probably be on the rat-bear's side of things :/)
five: ah, i do recall the inhumane experimentation that we were subjected to
nedzu, who was experimented on: haha same hat! want me to dig up the location of reginald hargreeves's remains so you can spit on them?
klaus: nah no worries we dumped them out in the courtyard unceremoniously like, a while back. how long ago varies for each of us because of time travel!
luther: you said hound dog's office was down the hall and to the right?
on the bright side, Luther probably feels like. way less self conscious about his body, partially bc of his fighting and all that in the 60s but also bc !! now he genuinely doesn't feel like a freak. no one even gives him a second glance. one of the teachers looks like a slab of cement with a face. gang orca looks Like That. there is literally a student with an entire bird head and goth aesthetic. Luther does not stick out at all
allison and shinso bond over having "villainous" voice-based quirks
allison and shinso having worn muzzles at some point in their youth as punishment 🤝
aizawa probably helps train vanya as well with the whole, being able to erase a world ending quirk safely thing he's got going on which makes for a very nice safety net
i don't think vanya would want to be a hero at the end of things though. maybe the assistant teacher in the music class or something?? all vanya wants is to be able to not end the world
i feel like as time goes by, five brings up trying to get home less and less. part of that is because like,,, genuinely what do they have to go back to?? Allison has Claire, but like. I'm 100% sure the first thing she did in the future was try track down Claire's records and found out Claire was like. fine. became an adult, had a family, probably became the ancestor of the first "quirked" kids who officially popped up after light baby. had a good life, died at an old age etc. etc.
they start settling into the bnha world with like, "we can always hop aboard the five express into where the fuck ever" as a plan Z if things go completely pear shaped (again)
i'mma be real, five himself doesn't give a fuck as long as there is a) no apocalypse and b) his family is alive. Like that's it. His bar is so incredibly low and yet his life keeps fucking trying to limbo under it
i just think it would be funny to have like, Five trying to get along with his "peers" and make friends while the siblings do the same but like, in the staff room
also think it would be funny for five to just walk into the staff room and get coffee occasionally.
a teacher: why is a student in here -
Five, sipping coffee: i'm an adult
nedzu like "what kind of guardian would i be if i didn't teach my new son all the tunnels around ua so he can pop out wherever"
five like "hey new dad can i put stashes of supplies all around ua of weapons, money, food, and other assorted things that might be useful if one needed to fight or make a run for it" and nedzu is like "haha just put your list of what supplies you want in your go bags on my desk and i'll critique it later!"
anyway a bnha/tua crossover would be incredibly chaotic but probably very funny
#long post#far tua long#tua bnha crossover#what kind of disaster is this#there are so many characters in bnha to even consider#there is no more apocalypse so five either chills the fuck out or his paranoia ramps up to an eleven#or both!#five teleporting into nedzu's office like: hey i wrote a 52 page potential contingency plan for if x happens#and nedzu is like 'wonderful!' and gives it back to five the next day with corrections and critiques in red ink#klaus ben and ghost!nana get along like a house on fire even if she keeps telling klaus that he's too skinny#ben: klaus is an absolute fucking idiot with zero braincells#nana nodding sagely while looking at all might: ah yes i know the exact type#diego and snipe become absolute bros like ride or die because why not#luther gets positive reinforcement and goes to therapy#also thirteen listens patiently to luther infodumping about space because i think that would be nice#five is either like 'i'm only thirteen uwu' or 'i'm fifty eight' and there is nothing in between - only what is most convenient#i feel like kaminari and mina vibe with five's brand of chaos#iida doesn't know whether to murder five for being a gremlin and disobeying so many rules or to be respectful bc five is technically old#aizawa is SO TIRED y'all#aizawa thinks vanya is going to be the good hargreeves but PSYCHE all the hargreeves are equally chaotic in different ways#five calls nedzu 'dad' for the sole reason that it makes every teacher and/or hero in earshot cringe in automatic fear#klaus also calls nedzu dad because he just thinks it's funny#five and nedzu have similar coping mechanisms so they vibe but nedzu also vibes with klaus's sense of chaotic humor#five gets talked into healthier coping mechanisms by way of 'keeping his cover' or 'preventing the hc from getting their hands on you'#aka five is not allowed to drink alcohol#five HAS gone to midnight and been like 'hey teach knock me the fuck out my brain is working overdrive and i need to not be awake anymore'

Due to time travel, I wanted to create a (hopefully) helpful list of the Hargreaves current (physical/mental) ages as of the end of s2:
Five - mentally 58, insists on doing that old man walk no matter how young his body is. I seriously considered putting him as both oldest (mentally) and youngest (physically) but was worried if I did he might genuinely kill me so
Klaus - was already 2nd oldest as of the end of s1 after his 10 months in Vietnam, but was also the 1st one dropped off following the time travel. He was in the ‘60s for over 3 1/2 years & so is about 34
Ben - including ghost life, his timeline follows Klaus’s, missing a little since he wasn’t summoned until after the funeral. (This is also where some people said they got how long Ben had been dead for wrong in the show! They didn’t - how long he’s been dead is just relative to each sibling & how old they are, but his actual ghost has been around by s2 for approx 17 years) I debated having 2 entries for Ben too, but since they aged Bens ghost alongside Klaus, I think the writers did want to show Ben has grown up in many ways post-death that would make saying he’s the youngest feel strange
Alison - getting into more straightforward time travel stuff, & was in Dallas for around 2 1/2 years, (time to not be able to talk for a year, date Ray, and have their 1 year anniversary of marriage), so is 31/32
Luther - landed in Dallas ~1 tear before the events of s2, but could have been there a little longer, so he’s about 30 (maybe just 31, but definitely younger than Alison)
Diego - in a hilarious turn of events, Diego and Vanya are actually both still 29, as the apocalypse fell on more-or-less on their half-birthday, and as he’s only been in Texas for a couple of months
Vanya - was in the ‘60s for around 6 weeks. They’ve always seen her as a little sister and it seems like that won’t stop anytime soon as they are now, actually, right
I think it might be interesting to think about the differences between this ‘new’ order compared with the Umbrellas numbers (maybe leading to a discussion of how Reggies numbering system which aside from the obvious manipulation thing, also created conflict as while it may suit their powers, those roles definitely didn’t suit their personalities the way the sparrows roles appear to) or you can always ignore the ask if you’ve seen one like it before, or as it’s quite long winded and rambly
But anyway, I really like your blog & I especially love reading all of your longer posts; they’re always so insightful and interesting, thank you for sharing :)
Thank you! And I enjoy headcanons about age order, but I did want to comment on a couple of things.
First of all, I’m not sure the others have always seen Vanya as their little sister. Vanya says Allison seems to now, but kind of the point of Vanya is that she’s an outsider. She’s never had a place in the group before. Her dynamic is one that’s still kind of settling. I know Luther and even Diego are protective of her in the first season, as Luther is also in the second season, and Five clearly has a soft spot for her. But the way Allison talks about her to Claire is less like an older sibling talking about a younger and more like someone describing their disabled family member. “Auntie Vanya’s…a little different from the rest of us.” So is their protectiveness of her due to believing her to be less capable, or is there some innocence in her that they want to protect? It’s a little harder to argue the latter after the shit she’s done, and it looks like even when the others are protective of her in the second season, they’re also pulling back and trusting her to be able to handle herself more.
(I think fandom can also infantilize Vanya quite a bit, so I feel the need to push back on that a smidge when I can.)
Second, I absolutely agree that Five will one day find a way to become a real person so he can get his revenge on fans for how we talk about him.
And lastly, sometimes sibling dynamics have very little to do with literal age order. We’ve all agreed Luther is kind of the honorary oldest, or was until Five leapfrogged everyone, but like…the oldest sibling in my family is nothing like Luther. In fact, he’s kind of like an unholy combination of Diego and Klaus. The middle sibling has the most in common with Ben and Vanya, while I, the youngest, see a lot of myself in Klaus, Luther, and Ben. Why am I closer to being Luther than the oldest sibling in my family is? Because of how we matured. My oldest brother has somehow managed to be the least mature out of the three of us. And he’s six years older than me, so this wasn’t an insignificant age gap when we were kids.
I think what we think of as age order is more a result of expectations and adaptations than literal age. You’re the oldest, so your parents give you unfair responsibilities and expect you to take care of your siblings. You’re the middle, so you used to be the youngest and now you’re not and you’re chafing to have your own role in the family. You’re the youngest, so you’re babied more than the others and prone to antics so you can compete with your older, more responsible siblings.
Generally, the younger you are, the less is expected of you. Not always, but generally. If you’re a favorite, things are different. Still, this might be why Luther is the “oldest.” Nobody 100% agrees on an age order, but I see a lot of opinions that Vanya and Klaus are kind of unofficially the babies of the family, unless you think of their numerical order as their age order. Less is expected of those two than of anyone else. Again, Vanya is an outsider, but that might be where peoples’ impression of her as their “little” sister comes from. It definitely isn’t that she is the least mature. She’s one of the more put-together siblings, actually, behind only Allison in terms of actually having a life.
Anyway, so “age order” has more to do with your role within the family than, like, age order. If you met me and my brothers now, you probably would not guess the oldest is the oldest. That wasn’t the expectation that was placed on him. So I don’t think their roles within the family are going to change that much now that they’re all different ages. It’s not like Five coming back suddenly twice the age of the others, it’s just a distribution over a few years.

Okay random Five headcanon
So he probably has PTSD due to the Commission and the post-apocalyptic wasteland, he probably has panic attacks. What if, during the panic attacks before he went to the past (when he reunited with his family) his age would change? Like he would rapidly age and de-age until the panic attack stopped. Maybe it doesn't have to be a panic attack in the future (when he's with his family). Like, maybe his brain gets confused sometimes because his body is 13 and his mind is 58 so it goes with 13 but his memories of time traveling start catching up and his body has to match his age so he starts aging and de-aging really fucking fast. Also, I imagine he would be in danger the older he got because 45 years of severe malnutrition, dehydration, and smoke-inhalation wouldn't make him a very healthy adult. So one day this happened in front of his siblings and Klaus can kinda see him turn into a ghost because he turns into like an old man then after a second or two he goes back to a child then a teenager and he just keeps changing his age and Klaus catches glimpses of Ghost Five and he gets scared and they're all scared and the other five are trying to calm him down

_________________________
Pt 31 - Commission Issues
As you zoned out looking at the sky and wondering about the possibilities of what would come next you hear Luther call out behind you,
"Five!"
Coming back to reality you turn towards the sound and watch as Luther follows Five back into the apartment building. You decide to follow them as well but not before looking at Klaus and Ben on the ground and say,
"Whatever that was, I'm going to ignore it but you two need to figure out where the others went while I help Five with whatever idea he has next, okay?"
"Uhh...sure" Klaus groans as he stands up
"Fine, we will," Ben adds
You nod your head and turn around rushing to follow the two boys who were heading inside the building. As you followed them up the staircase you could hear Luther exclaim,
"Hey! Five, doomsday is still coming. We gotta think of a new plan."
"Don't you get it, Luther? It's over, all right? We're already dead." Five complains
"Then where are you going?" Luther questions
"I'm going to do the unthinkable." Five replies frustratedly  "The hell is that supposed to mean?" Luther follows up
As the three of you enter the apartment you hear Five mumble to himself, "I was really hoping it wouldn't come to this."
With that, he enters what used to be Elliott's bedroom and shuts and locks the door behind him. Luther leans up against it knocking and yelling, "Come to what, Five? Five! Come to what? Five!"
Luther bangs on the door calling out Five's name over and over again to no response. You step next to Luther and when he looks down at you, you say,
"Let me talk to him."
Luther nods at you knowing that you were probably the best option to talk to him. If anybody was going to calm down and reason with him, it was going to be you. As Luther walks away to the living room portion of the apartment, you phase through the bedroom door. Once you enter, you watch as Five paces back and forth complaining to himself,
"All we had to do was get together on time. That was it! those idiots screw everything up."
"Five..." You say
"I do everything to try and save us from impending doom and I can't even rely on them for the simplest of tasks!" He continues to complain
"Five." You try again
"I bet they'll blame it all on me again too!"
"Five!" You call out grabbing his hand
Five stops pacing and his head snaps towards you.
"What?!" He snapped
You were taken aback by his outburst, your eyes going wide at the harsh tone of his voice. You could see the frustration on his face and the anger in his eyes. You knew deep down that he was just worried, but sometimes his emotions didn't come easy and it hurt you to see him so upset.
Five was done with the constant threat of the apocalypse. With not being listened to and with plan after plan to get everyone home failing. He wanted to run away from it all but then he saw the shocked look on your face, and his mind flashed back to all those years ago when you both were children. He recalled the anger and frustration he felt at his father not listening to him and not believing in his ability to time travel. The rage that burned inside him because things had not gone the way he wanted. And he remembered the way you held onto him and the shocked look on your face as he took his anger out on you. Those moments, that day, burned themselves into his mind and plagued him through his whole life. He had always regretted that day, and probably always would but there was no way he was going to make the same mistake twice. Five's head looked down shamefully as he quietly apologized,
"I'm sorry..."
Letting go of his hand you take a step forward and gently cradle his face in your hands, tilting his head up slightly so he can look at you. You look into his eyes and the anger you saw before was replaced with pain. Softly you cooed,
"It's okay darling."
"No. It's not. I shouldn't have done it." Five replied hurt "We both remember the last time I took my anger out on you and look how great that turned out."
Five turned his head slightly to look away from you. He couldn't believe himself for directing his anger towards you when you didn't do anything wrong. When you've never done anything wrong. If anything he had done wrong towards you. You knew Five regretted the day you both traveled through time. He had mentioned it to you a few times but sometimes he'd have a far-off look and you could just tell that his thoughts of that day were consuming him again. He lived with so much pain due to his actions and their consequences and you wished you could just take it all away. You tilted his face back towards you and tried to comfort him,
"Five, I don't blame you for what happened that day, it was the result of years of cruelty from your father, and no offense to them, but your siblings have let you down consistently over what has only been two weeks for you. You had and have every right to be upset."
"You're correct but that didn't and doesn't make it right for me to take it out on you." Five calmly explained "It was wrong then and it's wrong now. I'm sorry."
"It's okay my love." you forgive
"How can you be so forgiving of me? After everything I've done?" Five questions
"Five I knew who you were before that day, and I know you now. People make mistakes, and you're no exception, but it's the actions you took after them that prove you're a good person and worthy of forgiveness." You inform
Five just looks at you for a second before stepping forward and wrapping you tightly in his arms. You remove your hands from his face and wrap your arms around his neck hugging him back. He loved you so much and god knows what he would do if he lost you again. He didn't want to lose his family either. He'd never say it especially because he's tried to show it to no avail, but he cared about his siblings. They were his family and he wanted them to live just as much as he wanted you to. The apocalypse was coming and time was running out for you and his family. And that worried him. As you hug him, you can feel his face bury into the crook of your neck. Gently, you stroke his hair as he quietly says,
"They make it so hard. I just want you all to live."
"I know, but you have a brilliant mind and I know you'll figure out how to get us out of here." You whisper back to him
Five shakes his head on your shoulder before he lifts his head to rest his forehead against yours.
"I don't deserve you." He remarks
"Say that again and I'll kill you." you threaten
Five lets out a light chuckle and a smirk comes to his face. He could not tell how serious your statement was but he found your threat of violence to be cute anyway. You and Five pull your faces back from each other and Five just looks at you for a second. He truly did not know how he could live without you. Nodding his head, Five straightened up and said,
"Alright, I have a hail mary plan in mind but I have to figure out some details first."
"Okay. While you do that I think I'm going to go check to see if Charlie is around. No guarantees he's come this way yet but just in case he has I want to let him know I'm okay." You reply
You nod your head at him and start to walk away but when you get to the door you turn back to look at him again and add,
"If you figure out your plan and I'm not back, just go without me I'll wait here."
"Okay." Five replies "I love you."
"I love you too."
You then exit the room and let your boyfriend be. He was going to need the time and space to figure out what to do. As you walk out you see that Luther had passed out on the couch in the living room. Stopping the apocalypse was a pretty tiring affair. You walked out of the apartment and looked around the street. It was pretty barren and a lot of shops were closed given that JFK was in town. Most people had probably headed downtown to see the motorcade later today. it sure would be eventful. You couldn't really see Charlie's car anywhere and you were about to turn around when you hear what sounded like a woman yell out,
"HELP!"
Immediately, your instincts kicked in and you ran towards the voice screaming out. Following it down an alley you stopped and looked around for who was in danger. Before you could turn around though something jabbed into your back and you started to feel dizzy. You tried to fight off whatever was happening but it was too late and you collapsed to the group. As your consciousness started to fade in and out, the last thing you heard was someone saying,
"I'm sure your brother will be happy to see you."
Back at the apartment, Five had finally come to terms with his plan. He needed to intercept the last person he'd want to see in this timeline. Himself. An older-looking version of him had arrived in Dallas no more than 10 minutes ago to kill President Kennedy and although it was risky, if they could get the briefcase from him, Five knew he could get his family home. He needed to prepare though. Rushing out of the bedroom, Five heads towards the kitchen and loudly opens the refrigerator door. The sound of the fridge causes Luther to wake. And as he gets up from the couch he calls out,
"Five? Five?"
Five ignored the calls as he grabbed a container of water and started to chug it down. When Luther entered the kitchen he looked upon the sight before him of Five intensely drinking water. Furrowing his eyebrows, Luther asks confused,
"Five, you okay?"
Five gasps heavily as he finishes the water and puts the container back in the fridge.  "I'm gonna need to be hydrated." Five states
"Hydrated?" Luther questions
Luther watches as Five frantically looks around the kitchen for something before having his eyes lock on the kitchen table. Five walks over to it and quickly grabs a bottle of baby powder off of it before sprinkling some down each sleeve of his shirt and then some down his pants. Luther grew concerned about what was going on as he inquires,
"What's with the baby powder?" "It'll help with the itching." Five responds  "What itching? There's itching? What the hell is going on here?" Luther asks before realizing "You do have a plan." Five does a few jumps and shakes to even out the baby powder he had practically doused himself in. Grabbing his jacket from the chair he walks past Luther into the living room of Elliott's apartment and explains, "Well, it's a desperation move, but since our brain-dead siblings are incapable of meeting a simple deadline, I got no choice."
Luther turns to look at his sibling and asks, "No choice about what?"
"I have to find myself." Five states looking at his watch "I just arrived in Dallas 15 minutes ago." "Should I be worried about you?"
Five puts his academy jacket back on before bending over and starting to stretch. If he was going to do this he needed to know he was dexterous enough to fight or run after himself. With his younger body and surplus of energy, it probably wouldn't be that hard. Then again it was only two weeks ago when he was still working for the commission as well, and even in his old age, he was taking people out left and right. As he stretches Five explains,
"Luther, if you recall, I was sent to 1963 on a job by the Commission to make sure the president was assassinated." "Oh! So, wait, your old self is out there." Luther says
Five stood up and looked at his brother. Finally, the wheels in Luther's big monkey brain were starting to turn and he was starting to grasp the plan Five had come up with. "Precisely." Five states "What, just walking around Dallas?"  Luther asks confused
Nevermind. The monkey brain was still a monkey brain. Realizing his nitwit brother would not understand unless he described it in the same way he'd talk to a six-year-old, Five emphasized, "Walking around Dallas with a briefcase that can get us home."
Luther's eyes go wide and a surprised expression appears on his face as Five watches the lightbulb finally goes off in Luther's head. It was honestly disappointing how long it took for that to happen. "Oh, my God. Five, you're a genius!" Luther exclaims
He may be a genius but the plan wasn't perfect though. There were significant flaws in it but it was a hail-mary for a reason. Turning to Luther, Five elaborates, "However, there are two significant problems with this plan. Problem number one: I am a trained assassin, arguably the most dangerous assassin in the space-time continuum. If I know me, I'm not going to react kindly to bumping into myself. Problem number two, and this is the real fly in the ointment here: you're not supposed to exist in close proximity to yourself in the same timeline. The side effects can be disastrous." "Side effects? What sort of side effects?" Luther inquires
"Well, according to Commission Handbook Chapter 27, subsection 3b, the seven stages in paradox psychosis are stage one: denial, two: itching, three: extreme thirst and urination, four: excessive gas, five: acute paranoia, six: uncontrolled perspiration, and seven: homicidal rage." Five explains "Homicidal rage?" Luther questions
"Yeah." Five states "Jeez, I don't know. This maybe isn't such a good idea."  "It's a Hail Mary. But what choice do we got, Luther?" Five exclaims "I don't know, you already seem a bit squirrelly if I'm being honest." "Look, Luther, I'm gonna need you to help me get through this one, all right? I...I need a spotter." "A spotter?"
"Yeah."
"What is that? Like, a wingman?" Luther questions
"In case the paradox psychosis gets too severe, I need you to help me stay on task, all right? So, whatever happens, whatever I say, we need to get that briefcase. Okay?" Five explains
"Okay, but where's (Y/N)?" Luther questions looking around
"I don't know. She said she was going on a walk to find Charlie but I guess hasn't come back yet." Five states "Maybe it's better that way though."
"You don't want your girlfriend coming? Don't you think she could rationalize with you more than I can if things get bad with this paradox psychosis?" Luther states concerned
"Most likely, and honestly I wouldn't mind some more steadiness from her" Five says
He then stops for a moment to think about the events at the Lonely Lodger Inn from earlier. He wouldn't mind that at all.
"Five?" Luther calls
Pulled from his thoughts he looks back to Luther and continues to explain,
"BUT if she's not there I can use my knowledge of her as leverage against myself. 45 years ago was the last time he saw her alive. He's sad, desperate, and blames himself for her death.  We can use his emotional turmoil to get the briefcase if necessary."
Luther looked at his brother shocked. He knew where Five was coming from but it was almost vile considering using you against the other version of himself. Like he had said that version of him is sad, desperate, and blames himself for your death. Withholding knowledge about you just to get the briefcase would probably be on torture levels for him. Luther knew how strongly Five felt about you and the two of you were together now, so he could only imagine what could happen with the version that hasn't seen you in years.
"You're going to use your girlfriend like blackmail against yourself?"
"As I said, if necessary I will." Five comments as he starts to walk away "Now, come on Luther."
"Right..." Luther says to himself
Leaving out of the apartment the two of them head out in search of Five's Commission self. Although both still wondered where you were.
____________________________
As you started to regain your consciousness the world around you began to flood your senses. Your mind felt fogged as your head rested heavily on a cold surface. Your eyelids drooped but you tried to open them to see where you were. Through blurred vision, you were able to make out an empty grey room. It reminded you of the interrogation room at the police station Eudora worked at. This definitely wasn't the alley you were in. You moved your body around and with enough force, you manage to get yourself upright but your heavy head still hung low. As you became upright you could feel your backside hit the backing of the chair you were in. You moved your arms trying to readjust yourself but as you did so you hear the sounds of clanking and realized there was something around your wrists. You were handcuffed.
"Maybe Charlie was right about not running towards danger." You groan
It felt like your physical being and consciousness were both moving through sludge. Whatever that person injected into you to knock you out was sure as hell powerful. You tried to think of a plan to get out but all of them involved your powers and you could just feel the fatigue run through your veins from the sedative. Taking some breaths you tried to figure out where you were and where to go from here. Listening carefully you could hear the buzzing of the light above you but also the sounds of people walking and chattering outside the room you were in. Gathering energy, you threw your head back so that it was facing up towards the ceiling. You moved your eyes around and spotted a door to the left of you. There were no real defining characteristics to let you know where you were. Maybe Reggie had informed the government about you and now the FBI or CIA was going to use you as a weapon of mass destruction. Maybe the Soviets had kidnapped you and were going to use you as ransom to the US government because apparently, the world saw you as the adoptive daughter of an eccentric billionaire. Either way, you didn't know where you were and you didn't know how to get out. Overall, this was a very bad situation. Without any other real options, you sat there and waited for something to happen. As you did so you could hear the door open and the sound of someone walking into the room before closing the door behind them.
"Good, you're awake." The voice commented
You knew that voice. It was the same one as the person who had knocked you out. Although you were still too sluggish to do anything about your situation you could feel a fire start to build. Rolling your head to the side you looked towards the figure. Across the other side of a table stood a woman in all black clothes with a late 90s grunge cut with a fake smile on her face. Narrowing your eyes at them you demanded,
"Where am I?"
"You're at the Temps Commission." They responded
"Fuck." You said under your breath
This was worse than you thought, and now you were wishing you were captured by the KGB or US government. You had no clue what they knew nor what they wanted from you and since you couldn't fight back, the best course of action was to stay quiet. No matter what, you would not reveal any information about the Hargreeves but especially Five. They had been on his ass ever since he returned to 2019 and you were not going to let them get to him. The woman before you looked over as you sat in silence.
"What, no more questions?" They inquire "I feel like you'd have a lot more given who I am."
"I have no clue who you are." You remark
"Lila?"
Oh. Her. Great. Letting out an annoyed huff you stare at her with an unimpressed expression.
"Ah yes, now I recall," You comment, sarcasm laced in your voice "You're my emotionally damaged, older brother's sloppy seconds hookup, who in reality is a vomit bag of lies and manipulation."
"Listen here you little prick, I'm his girlfriend." She snaps
"You ain't shit. His girlfriend is a corpse, six feet under and somehow she's still better than you." You scoff
As your confidence grew, you started to realize that the sedative was wearing off more. You started to feel less sluggish and although physically you couldn't do much your mind became clearer. You didn't want to tip Lila off that you were regaining your strength though so you stayed in your slumped position but kept a cocky look on your face. Lila slams her hands down on the table and stares at you intensely.
"I should kill you." She threatens
"Do it. I'm sure that'll go over real well with my brother." You remark sarcastically
"You a bigger pain in the ass than Five." She remarks annoyed
"Good." You reply curtly
The two of you stare each other down intensely, neither of you saying anything. After a few moments, Lila remarks,
"You're an asshole."
"And you're the walking embodiment of sad British cooking. Fucking basic beans and toast looking ass bitch." You retort
You watch and Lila's face contorted with a flurry of emotions. Shock, confusion, anger. They were all present. Lila then stands up straight once more and in a monotone voice states,
"I have a meeting to go to."
Turning away from you she heads to the door. As she does so you shout behind her,
"Ha! That's right, leave! And just know if I could flip you off right now I would!"
As Lila steps out of the room you can hear her say to someone,
"You watch over her for now and bring her to my mother's office in 15 minutes. Understood?"
And as Lila fully leaves the room another woman steps in. Closing the door behind her, she looks through the glass window of the door as if trying to check for something before pulling the curtain down. Locking the door she walks over to the table and pulls up a chair across from you. With her hands clasped nicely on the table, she gives you a genuine wide smile and says,
"Hiya! I'm Dot!"
You looked at the woman before you. She seemed kind but this was also the Temps Commission so you had your reservations about trusting her.
"(Y/N)..."
"Oh, I know!" She replies in an upbeat tone "And let me tell you, a lot of us down at case management are so happy for you and Five. A lot of us wish the process was sped up but we have no real say in any decisions here but gosh we're just so happy for you two."
You stared at her blankly. She seemed sincere in her congrats, but part of you worried this was just some ploy to get you to let your guard down. You shifted uncomfortably in your chair and quietly commented back,
"Uh...thanks."
Dot let out a small sigh as her smile faltered a bit. Giving you a soft expression she lowers her voice and states,
"Listen, I know you're probably hesitant to trust me but if I'm going to get you out of here you're going to need to."
"I'm not going to trust anybody here. Five has told me all about you all." You state
"I understand. Let me just do something to prove you can trust me. Please just don't run after I do it. It'll cause a whole lotta trouble for the both of us." Dot says
You watch as she gets up from her seat and walks behind you. You try to turn your head as best as you can to see what she's doing but between the sedative still working its way out of your system and the fact you could not turn your head like an owl it was difficult. You watch as she crouches down for a second and then you hear the sound of something clattering to the ground. Dot walks back to her chair and sits down. As she does that you realize the clattering sound was that of your handcuffs falling to the floor. She had let you go knowing there was a chance you would run away. If you were able to move better maybe you would but that wasn't a possibility yet and you were a little curious as to what was up with her now. Shaking your wrists out a bit, Dot comments to you,
"You're free now, but please don't run. Let me get you out of here the right way."
"Get me out of here? What do you mean?" You questioned as you rested your arms on the table
Dot looked around the room once more checking to make sure nothing was there to see and hear her. Looking back towards you she explains,
"The Handler is trying to take over the commission. I and a few other folks are part of an underground resistance effort to try and stop her, because if she takes the reigns of this whole place we have no clue what will happen, but we know it won't be good."
"What do you know then?" You question, leaning forward in your seat
"From what we can infer, she wants the apocalypse to happen and she wants it to wipe out Five and the rest of the Hargreeves. But Lila obviously has a soft spot for your brother and brought him here."
"My brother Diego." You state
You knew that it was Diego who she brought. Of course, it was. Logically, it was the only answer that made sense. Hell, she thought she was his girlfriend. And yet, there was a part of you that thought about your other brother, Dean. You knew it was unlikely that he was here. It was virtually impossible, but maybe if he was all of your friends were here too. The look on your face must've said what you were thinking because Dot reached across the table and took your hands in her own.
"I'm sorry about your other brother." She consoled
Your heart clenched at those words. Taking a deep breath you attempted to ask,
"I'm guessing he..."
"Yes." Dot answered, "Along with the rest of your friends."
You looked down and nodded your head lightly. You knew how the world ended. You knew that the reality you had known, did end. And yet, somehow up until now, you had been able to block out the true gravity of the situation. You remembered how you joked with Charlie that he was the only friend you had left and to stay away from fireplaces or else you would have no one. You truly had not grieved their loss for years and instead had evaded it with humor or distractions. But now you were faced with the truth that you had always known. Your friends were dead. The apocalypse killed them. You held Dot's hands a little tighter as you squeezed your eyes shut trying to keep the tears that were forming back. With eyes still closed, you took a few small breaths before quietly asking,
"How did it happen?"
There was a silence in the room as the air loomed heavy over the two of you. Dot then took a breath before answering,
"In their last moments, they were all together singing happy birthday to your friend Kenny."
You lifted your head towards Dot and opened your eyes. You nodded your head as you managed to fight back your grief and replied softly.
"...at least Dean kept his promise."
"I know this is difficult for you to deal with especially since things are already so stressful but we can get them back." Dot states calmly
"How?" You inquired
If you had a chance to save the Hargreeves, and get your friends back, you would take it, no matter what. You loved them all and nothing was going to stop you from keeping them alive.
"In the simplest of terms, stop The Handler, Stop the 1963 apocalypse, and return the original timeline."
"I'm in." You reply without hesitation "What do I need to do?"
"Lila knows that you matter more to Diego than she does, so she brought you here to use you to keep Diego in line. We're going to head to the Handler's office soon so Lila can use you as said bait. What you need to do is still pretend that you are too sedated to actually fight or anything." Dot starts to explain
"Pretend? I am still too sedated to fight." You state confused
"Not for long though." She replies "I went to our Metaphysics Division laboratory-"
She had to be joking right? The whole concept of the Temps Commission was crazy enough but a Metaphysics Division was honestly ridiculous to you. Cutting her off you sarcastically questioned,
"Metaphysics Division? What do they do? Turn decades into candy? Synthesize a person's memories from their DNA into an injectable? Create bodies for consciousness to be transferred into?"
"They already did the first one, I'm sure they could do the second if they tried, and they accomplished the last one until Five blew up the briefcase room which unfortunately shared a wall with the lab. They moved the lab location to a safer spot after that." Dot explained, "Point being, I stole a vile of adrenaline for you."
"Because adrenaline helps bring back my powers. That's genius." You compliment
"Yes. So during the meeting, you're just going to pretend that you're still very sedated but after that, we move into phase 2."
"And what's that?" You ask
"We're getting you out of here and back to Five."
With that, Dot pulls the vial of adrenaline and a packaged medical needle out of her pocket and slides them across the table to you.
"I'm not sure what your limit is so I don't want to be the one to inject it. Also, as a fair warning, we don't have much time until I need to take you to the Handler's office." Dot explains
You nodded your head at her and grab the vial and needle. You had watched Kenny do this enough times for you that you felt you could figure it out on your own with minimal problems. Opening the packaged needle you go through the steps to fill it with the adrenaline from the vile before injecting it into your arm. You weren't sure how much you were supposed to give yourself but you felt much more energized even in the few minutes after doing so. Dot turned to you and you knew from the look on her face that it was time to go. Grabbing the handcuffs from the floor you handed them to Dot before putting your hands behind your back. Once they were on you got yourself in the headspace of pretending to be somewhat sedated and started acting less alert and coordinated.
"Are you ready?" Dot questioned
"Yup. Let's set this plan in motion." You reply
Dot then unlocks the door and the two of you walk out of the room down the halls of the commission towards the Handler's office. In the office though, the Handler looked in disbelief at Lila and her pick for new commission security detail.
"Are you kidding me?" The Handler exclaims
"You said I could hire my own team." Lila states "Yes, but I didn't mean him, for God's sake. If you don't see the problem with hiring you-know-who's brother, then you're not ready for that badge." The Handler complains
Diego looks at the scene before him of the back and forth between mother and daughter. This was going nowhere and he was not meant to be here. Trying to get up and leave he says, "I'm sorry, but I really need to get going." "Shut up!" They both yell at him
Diego slowly sits back down in his seat as the two of them go back and forth with each other. "I can't do this job if you don't trust my instincts," Lila complains "Sweetheart, your vagina needs glasses. He is not worth it." The Handler criticizes  "Mum! Oh, my God."Lila exclaims embarrassed before changing her tune "This may shock you, but not everyone here likes you."
The Handler looks at Lila confused as she states, "Sounds ridiculous, but go on." "You need fresh blood loyal to us and not the old regime. I've seen Diego in the field. He is so much better trained than most of the assholes here. Why waste that when we can use it? He'll be my personal responsibility." Lila explains to her mother
The Handler turns her attention from Lila to Diego.
"You know, your brother Five and I have quite a colorful history." The handler playfully comments with a wink
Diego looks at her confused and disgusted. He hoped to god that she wasn't insinuating what he thought she was because if so he was going to kick Five's ass. Trying to both change the topic, and gage what she meant Diego replies, "My brother has beef with all except one person, and that person is not me." Diego retorts "Let me ask you something. When you're looking down the barrel of a gun, where do your loyalties lie, with your family or your principles?" The Handler asks "With me. I don't belong to anybody. Especially Lila." Diego retorts
The handler stares Diego down for a bit and there is a silence in the air. Turning back to Lila she states, "That I can work with. Run him through orientation and fill out his paperwork."
A wide smile comes to Lila's face as she happily exclaims, "Aw, thanks, Mum! I'm glad you're on board, but just to be sure he behaves I do have an insurance policy in place."
"A what?" Diego questioned
The door then opened from behind him. You had been waiting on the other side of the wall with Dot for a few minutes for some kind of signal to enter the room. You guessed Lila wanted dramatic effect, which was very villain-esque and very cliche. Walking into the room you made sure that you looked physically weak so that they wouldn't feel like you had the full ability to fight them again. Dot sat you down in a chair in between Diego and Lila before walking back outside of the room. Turning to your brother you smile at him and comment,
"Hey Eggo, how's it going? Did you get drugged and kidnapped as well?"
Diego's pulse begins to quicken as he looks between you and Lila. Anger started to build inside of him as his eyes locked on Lila. She looked at him from her seat with confusion.
"Diego, what's wrong?" She questioned
Diego couldn't believe that it was even a question of what could be wrong. How could she not see the awful nature of what she had done? Shooting up from his chair, Diego moves to place himself between you and Lila. He wasn't going to let her get any closer to you. She had already hurt you once and there was no way he was going to let it happen again. Not on his watch.
"What's wrong?" He questioned rhetorically before yelling "YOU DRUGGED AND KIDNAPPED MY SISTER!"
Lila did not fully think this plan through. She knew that Diego had a soft spot for you so she knew she could use you to help get him to stay and work as security. What she had not anticipated was his anger. She thought he would be a little upset but still happy to have you with him. That was not looking like the case though. Standing up as well, Lila tries to downplay the severity of what she had done.
"Diego, calm down, she's fine. A little sedated but fine." Lila explains with some nervous laughter
"Fine would be her not being here at all Lila!" Diego rebuked
The Handler looked at the lover's quarrel going on between the two of them.  It was unexpected but it revealed a side of Diego that was unknown before. It was impressive that Lila had thought ahead to bring in the one loyalty that Diego had so that he would be less likely to act out.
"I see you do have some loyalties..." The Handler comments "Good thinking on the blackmail sweetheart."
As you quietly sat handcuffed, trying to pretend that you had no ability to use your powers, you couldn't help but get irritated at Lila and Diego. Feeling the need to add your input, you cut in commenting,
"Y'know...I'm just putting it out there, but Eudora never would've drugged and kidnapped me to use me as blackmail because she was actually a good person."
"Shut up." Lila scolds, glaring at you
"Don't talk to my sister like that!" Diego reprimands
"Yeah! Fuck you, beans and toast." You add
"What?" Diego asks looking down at you confused
"Just roll with it." You whisper back to him
"Diego," Lila calls bringing his attention back to her "Look at it this way. At least she's with you her brother and not her awful boyfriend, Five."
"He's a pain in my ass, and I don't like sharing her but he's not an awful boyfriend. Everything he has done is for her." Diego replies
"I'm telling him you said that." You mention
Diego once again turns to look at you and in the sternest of tones he states,
"No."
He then turns back to Lila and continues to explain,
"And second of all, I'd rather her be with him than here because then at least I know she's protected."
The Handler was becoming less and less amused by this argument the more it went on. Deciding she was done with their petty bickering she stood up from her desk and commanded,
"Enough. Lila, take your little puppy to orientation."
Lila tried grabbing Diego's arm to take him away but he held his ground. No matter what he was not going to leave you behind, especially not alone with the Handler. Lila looked between her mother and Diego, growing increasingly worried about what would happen if Diego didn't leave with her soon. Lila tried pulling him along once more but he pulled his arm from her grasp. Placing a hand on your shoulder he turned to face the handler. Standing his ground, Diego demanded,
"I'm not going anywhere without my sister."
"Alright." The handler replies monotonously "Kill him, Lila."
"No!" You and Lila shout in unison
The two of you glare at each other before you look towards your brother. He was not dying just because he felt this need to stick around and protect you. You knew he was always going to put you first in a way he barely did with anyone else, but you were not going to risk losing your other brother because of his need to protect you.
"Diego please go." You asked calmly
Diego looked towards you before crouching down in front of you. Looking you in the eyes, he gently holds onto each of your arms. He said no words but you could feel his hands shake.
"I'm not leaving you." He stated, trying to keep his voice calm
There was a certain deja vu to the conversation you were having with Diego. Your brain traveling back to that day in 2019. You tried not to think too much about it but knowing what had happened after made this conversation even harder. You didn't want to make your brother leave, but you knew you needed to so he could be safe. You just hoped that this time things would turn out better.
"Diego. Go." You forced out
He looked at you sadly but knew you wouldn't budge on the issue. Wrapping his arms around you he pulls you into a tight hug, not wanting to let you go. If your hands weren't cuffed behind your back you would've held him as well but all you could do was rest your head on his shoulder.
"I'll be okay," you whispered, trying to reassure Diego of the decision
"I'm gonna come back for you." He whispered back
He let out a sigh before standing up and reluctantly nodding towards Lila to show him the way. You turned your head to watch him leave. Diego looked back at you one more time, hoping that he would see your face again soon. And with that, he left and you were now left alone with the Handler herself. You watched as she made her way around her desk and leaned back on it so she was now in front of you. She gave you a smile that was nowhere near as friendly as Dot's was. It unsettled you greatly. Instinctively, you leaned back in your seat as you stared quietly back at her.
"So you must be Five's little plaything," The handler comments "I'm so glad I finally get to meet you. I was hoping it would be on better circumstances but for some reason, Five never wanted to bring you around."
You could see why he didn't want you two to meet. Although she tried to portray herself as kind it was very evident that she was psychotic.
"Not much of a talker, huh?" She questions "Maybe a candy would help? Would you like one?"
She gestures to a bowl of candy on her desk. Honestly, you wouldn't mind one and you were so done with the day at this point that you were willing to accept the risk it might be poisoned.
"Sure, but uh...I can't really grab it." You reply shaking your arms to gesture to the handcuffs
The handler moves from leaning on her desk to behind you and undoes one handcuff before re-cuffing it on the armrest of the chair you were in. Still not great, but at least you were able to have some movement of your hands and arms. The handler grabs a piece of candy from the bowl and hands it to you. A smirk resided on her face as she watches you take the candy from her hand.
"Here have this one," she says before walking back behind her desk
As she walks back to her chair, you unwrap the candy and pop it in your mouth. It didn't taste too great. It tasted like stress and tears and sadness, but then again it was not as bad as the weird food concoctions you and your friends had made before. You crunched on it a little bit before swallowing it all. As the handler sits back down in her seat she starts to say,
"We've synthesized specific years into- wait did you just eat that whole thing?"
"Yeah." You reply bluntly
"That was The Great Depression candy." She states shocked
"Ah, that makes more sense. I thought it just tasted like finals week. Not bad though." You respond
The handler looks at you baffled. She purposely gave you the Great Depression as a way to knock you down and show her superiority but you ate the whole thing like it was nothing.
"Not bad? It was made to taste like blood, sweat, tears, and depression."
You shrug your shoulders and nonchalantly reply,
"It could be worse."
"It could be worse? What is wrong with you?" She questions before saying "Nevermind."
The handler took a moment to try and regain herself. Not even she was able to eat the Great Depression candy without gagging. This was a situation she had not anticipated but she wasn't going to be confused or intimidated by some child. You on the other hand felt a pride rise inside you. You tried to hold your laughter back as you thought to yourself, Now I've thrown her off her rhythm. This situation was bad but at least you were able to make it entertaining. The handler after reestablishing her "polite" composure brought a faux smile back to her face as she turned her attention towards you again.
"You are quite the individual. Just like Five, we've had our eyes on you for a long time."
"That's kinda creepy but alright." You comment back
"Well, we do monitor all of time to make sure that what's supposed to happen, happens. Of course, we were going to notice children with unexplained immense powers, such as yourself. Molecular manipulation is quite the gift."
"Yeah, you could say I'm the main character of this story." You mention with a wink "No one can do what I do."
"I'm sure someone could mimic your powers."
"Ha! I sure would like to see that bitch try." you scoffed "The dipshit would be writhing on the ground in pain for their hubris. I can only imagine what type of dumbass would willingly take on feeling the extent of everything that makes up this world without years of tolerance training. Idiot."
You couldn't believe the stupidity of her statement. You'd think if she had been monitoring you throughout your life that she would know it took you forever to build up a tolerance to feeling the molecules in the world. Before you started learning to control your abilities you blew stuff up as a child because you were in pain. Imagine having such a large ego that you think you could copy that without putting in any training for it. What a "yeah let me just try to surpass god" type of mentality you were getting from this woman.
The handler couldn't believe you either. She was growing more frustrated with you having some kind of counterpoint to everything she did or said. It was like you were prepared to be here even though it was clearly established that you weren't. She was just glad that the only power you had right now was the ability to run your mouth. The handler knew she was going to get under your skin though. She had her ways.
"You know, it's just so sweet the history that you and Five have. Always believing the two of you would find each other again one day." She states, traces of malice in her tone "It's something I thought about during Five and I's involved, and colorful history."
You furrowed your eyebrows. Did- did she think you were stupid? You knew she was trying to suggest that she and Five were a thing but they obviously weren't. Anyone with half a brain cell could see that. Your boyfriend hated this woman and hated his time at the commission. He said it himself, it was nothing more than a job. He absolutely despised these people, especially her, and currently was working directly against this organization as he always had been. And on top of it, everything he's done was motivated by his love for you. Even Diego who was not happy that you had a boyfriend knew that was Five's motivation. This woman was certifiably insane.
"Ma'am if you're trying to insinuate you fucked my boyfriend, I know you're lying. Intimacy of any kind, but especially physical intimacy catches him off guard." You elaborate unamused "Also if you two have such an involved history then why is that he spent his whole life trying to get back to me, despises you and the rest of the commission, and is actively trying to thwart you in every way possible."
The handler glared at you. She thought she was going to get under your skin with that comment and yet here you sat throwing it back in her face and getting under hers. Scornfully she rebuked,
"You know I never quite understood why Five chose you. I can't seem to find one reason to like you."
"Well, I can seem to find a lot of reasons actually. I'm pretty, I'm smart, I'm powerful, I cared for him when no one else would, I didn't knowingly leave him alone in an apocalyptic wasteland for 45 years." You retort sarcastically "And those are just a few of the many reasons."
"You know pride is one of the seven deadly sins," The handler comments leaning forward in her seat
"So is envy." you retort
The handler gets back up from her seat and walks over to you once more. Looking down at you with contempt she asks,
"You know what I see?"
"What?" you reply
"I see a weak, pathetic child who thinks that she's the center of attention in this giant book of life. A child who is so scared of confronting her past she hides behind a harsh exterior with only her words to defend her." She attempts to insult
It didn't work though because you knew she was wrong. She had no clue who you were or what you were like. You had her stumped and you knew she was grasping at straws to try and put you down. To try and make you feel belittled so that she could exert power over you. She had no power over you because the fact of the matter was, you were the one in power here, and you were going to assert it.
"Well, you know what I see?" You ask with a smug smile
"No. Tell me, what do you see?"
Still handcuffed you lean forward in your chair looking up at where she stood right in front of you. Lowering your voice you go on to say,
"I see a woman, past her prime, deluded by a fantasy of some kind of romantic tryst with a man who never wanted her to begin with. You have led yourself so far down a path of irrationality that you have convinced yourself there was some kind of connection that was never there. He was your subordinate, nothing more. And now here you stand, grasping at straws for some sense of control and power, in the middle of a failing coup d'état of your own making, because you feel like you are losing your grip on the reality you created for yourself. A reality wrecked by the very man that you convinced yourself wanted you back."
Immediately after you finished your statement, the handler's hand snapped towards you and grabbed your face. She forced your head up to look at her and you could see the rage in her eyes. You were winning this battle. Angrily the handler replied,
"You better show me some respect. I have the power to ruin your life, take everything you love away, I could even kill you for that matter."
"I don't need to show you shit. My life has already been ruined, practically all that I love has disappeared in one way or another," You retort "and just so you know, the only way I'll ever die is if I choose to let it happen."
The handler leaned in towards you and her grip on your face tightened. You could feel her nails sink into your skin a little more. You weren't intimidated by her though. She was pathetic and wasn't worth your time. When she got close enough to you a sadistic smirk came to your face for a moment before you spit in hers. The handler whipped your head to the side as she pulled back in disgust. Wiping her face off she looks towards you in anger but you sit there with a proud smile.
"You're lucky you make good blackmail or else you'd be dead right now." she comments furiously before shouting "DOT!"
Dot quickly enters the room and the handler whips her gaze towards her.
"Take this disgusting child back to her holding cell." She commands
Dot nods her head and quietly makes her way over to you. Unlocking the one handcuff from the armrest she redoes the cuffs behind your back before helping you to stand. The two of you walk towards the door to leave the handler's office but before you do so you stop in your place. Turning to face the handler you firmly state,
"Les chaînes des oppresseurs ne durent que tant que les opprimés les laissent rester. La liberté est inévitable."
And without another word you and Dot left.

"Well, there I am." Five stated
He and Luther had made their way over to the pub that Five knew he would be at. From behind a pillar the two of them spied on older looking but younger self. Five remembered this day perfectly. He had sat over at the bar trying to perfect the equation to jump forward to 2019. He thought about you a lot, wondering how you would feel about him coming back, if you would be upset with him...if he'd get the opportunity to confess his feelings even though it probably would go nowhere.
What a sad mess of a man.
"Hey Five, why don't we just grab the briefcase and run?" Luther questioned "Luther, I would never let that happen. We're trained to guard these briefcases with our lives." Five explained "Plus, it's the inherent paradox where this gets tricky. I'm endangering my existence just being in the room with myself."
"Huh...What do you mean?" Luther asked confused
God, how dense was he? Did Five really have to spell it out for his brother? Letting out an exasperated sigh, Five elaborated,
"Luther, try to keep up. If old me doesn't travel back to 2019 like he's supposed to, the whole thing unravels itself. I cease to exist. You got me?" "I get you," Luther responds
Five was not confident though that Luther actually got him. "So our best chance is to talk with him, to reason with him." Five continues "He'll understand. Trust me. I know myself better than, uh...better than I know myself."
Unconsciously, Five reaches back and scratches the back of his neck causing Luther to quietly exclaim, "You just itched your neck. That's stage two of paradox psychosis."
"No, I didn't. I didn't itch my neck." Five denies "Denial is stage one." Luther reminds
Five was not going to deal with this back and forth. He was fine. Completely and utterly fine. Nothing was wrong at all and no paradox psychosis was setting in. He was good. Snapping at his brother he states, "I am fine, okay? Let's stay on task, shall we?"
Five attempts to start walking over to his commission self but Luther puts an arm out to stop him. "Wait!" Luther says "What?" Five questions
"Maybe I should go first."  "Why?"
"Well, you'll freak him out. Bumping into your own tiny doppelganger? He will lose his shit. Just let me break the ice." Luther suggests
Five thought about it for a second and realized Luther was right. It might be better to send him in, although now he was wishing he had you here because you would probably be the best option to reason with him. But then again, he could see himself freaking out even more because your presence in 1963 meant something very wrong happened. Well, at least he still had the blackmail option. Five nods to his brother and Luther slowly makes his way over to commission Five. Luther awkward leans on the bar next to him and calls,
"Five."
Commission Five registered the word the person had just said to him but wasn't sure if he was hearing him correctly. Looking up at the person he sees a giant man standing there. Looking him up and down he asks, "What'd you call me, big man?" "It's me. Number One?" Luther replies "Luther. How did you...?" Commission Five questions as he starts to reach down towards the briefcase at his feet
"It's okay. Everything is fine. I can explain. But first, I need to introduce you to somebody. Just promise me you won't freak out." Luther tries to calm "What the hell are you talking about?" Five replies with wide eyes
"Uh! Don't freak out. No freak-outs. All right?" "Hey there, stranger." Academy Five greeted
The two of them stare quietly at each other. This was the worst of situations and both of them knew it but what was more important was making sure they were the one to possess the briefcase.
"How about we all sit down together?" Luther suggests
Commission Five leans down and grabs the briefcase as Academy Five continues to stare at him. Cautiously the two of them walk over to a nearby table that Luther has found available. Slowly the Five's sit down across from each other, their staring contest continuing on.
"I'll get us some drinks!" Luther exclaims walking over to the bar
Neither of them said a word to their other and tension loomed in the air. Neither knew if it was due to the paradox psychosis or just the fact that they both had to look at a reflection of their and future failures. Either way, it was an undesirable experience. After a minute, Luther comes back with three pints of beer in hand. Placing one in front of each person at the table he takes a seat and comments,
"Well...this is nice, isn't it? The three of us, together like this." "No." Both Fives say in unison "Somebody explain to me how it is I'm having a pint of Guinness with my younger self." Commission Five inquired
"Older, actually. I'm you, just 14 days older." Academy Five states
Commission Five leans in more as he remarks, "I have pubic hair smarter than you. How's that possible?"
"I can explain. You see, one hour from now, on the grassy knoll, before the president is killed, you break your contract with the Commission. I already know you're thinking about it. All those years in the apocalypse, we never stopped worrying about our family" Five explains taking a pause before continuing "About (Y/N)."
Luther looks between the two Fives confused. They worried about the family? It was understandable that they worried about you but the family too? Surprising. Commission Five's eyes glaze over for a second and he looks off in the distance as his teen counterpart's words resonate in his mind. He did worry about his family but mainly he worried for you. The image of that first day in the apocalypse never left him no matter how many years had passed. It was seared into his memory and haunted his nightmares. Coming back into focus, Five leans in and replies in a low voice,
"Of course. Why wouldn't I worry about her? You know what happened." "I do know what happened and preventing that outcome is the most important thing. So today, you are going to do something about it. Today, you are going to attempt to time travel forward to 2019. However, you are going to mess up the calculations, screw up the jump, and end up in this younger body." Academy Five explains
"Okay. So what am I supposed to do about it, not jump?" Commission Five asks
"No, no. I need you to jump. If you don't jump, I cease to exist and there is someone in this timeline who would not be happy about that." Academy Five states firmly
Commission Five's eyes go wide. Instinctively, his hand and covers the part where his locket rested. Were you here in 1963 as well? His heart raced a little and he excitedly questioned,
"You mean-"
"Yes." Academy Five answered
"...What's she like?" Commission Five asked in awe at the thought of you being around
"Ethereal." "I'm listening. Go on." Commission Five pressed
This is exactly why Five was fine with you not being here. Now he had bargaining power against his former self. The pathetic man was desperate for any crumb of knowledge about you. An unfriendly smile came to Academy Five's face as he explained his offer,
"I'll be glad to tell you more in exchange for that briefcase you're holding under the table. And I'll even give you the right equation for this time if you want it."
Commission Five looked back at his teen-looking self without saying any words. Taking the opportunity to speak Luther re-explained, "Yeah, yeah, so you go back to 2019, as planned, see (Y/N) and this time with the right math, so you can remain a full-grown man. In exchange, we get that briefcase that you no longer need. Timeline restored, paradox resolved. Everyone goes on existing happily ever after." "That's quite a bit to take in." Commission Five commented
"What do you think?" Academy Five asked "I think...I need to piss." Commission Five responded
He then got up from the table, grabbing the briefcase from the floor below him, and made his way to the bathroom. Academy Five watched with wide eyes as he walked away from the table. Grabbing a napkin, Luther began to dab the sweat off of Five's face commenting, "Well, besides the flop sweat, I think that went pretty well." "No, there's something- something doesn't feel right about this." Five remarked
"What do you mean?" Luther questioned "I don't trust him." Five stated "But he's you," Luther replied confused "Exactly."
Luther slowly nodded his head. The psychosis looked like it was really starting to pick up in Five. Luther hoped they would be able to get the briefcase soon so that Five didn't get worse. Downing the rest of his pint, Luther turns to Five and explains,
"Well, I need to go take a piss as well, and maybe as your spotter, I can reason with him a bit, alright? Just wait here."
Five watches as Luther gets up and walks away. He could only hope that things would all work out the way they should.
____________________________
As you and Dot quietly walked down the hallway you whispered to her,
"What's this phase two that you have in mind?"
You watch as Dot looks around for a second to make sure no one in the hallway was paying attention before pulling you into a side corridor. She takes one more glance around the surroundings before whispering to you,
"The resistance is going to get a briefcase so you can escape back to 1963, but to get to the briefcase room unnoticed, we'll need a distraction."
"Ah, I see where is going. You want me to cause the distraction."
"Yes." Dot replies "If you can draw enough security away from the briefcase room we can slip in and get one so that you can get out of here."
You nod your head as you phase your wrists through the handcuffs so you can have your arms free again. Looking back to her you state,
"I'm not leaving without Diego."
"Don't worry, I talked to Herb, another member of the resistance in the hall, and he said he was going to retrieve him." She reassures
"Good." You respond before asking "Where should I meet you?"
"Storage closet 2. It's on the east side of the building across from the period clothing department."
You peer around the corner of the corridor and look out into the hallway to see who was there. It was relatively empty with only a few people passing by. As you keep watch you ask Dot,
"Is the briefcase room to the left or right?"
"The right. Why?" She questions
"No time for questions. Just trust me. I'll see you soon." You respond
And before she can say anything else, you turn yourself invisible and sprint off to the left down the hall. Dodging the people who were walking by, you looked for some room that seemed important. As you searched, you passed the handler's office doors. Stopping in your tracks and backing up you look at the double doors for a second. A mischievous smile comes to your face as you take each hand and place them on the door handles. You heat the molecules of the handles and the lock inside of the door so that they all start to melt before quickly cooling it all down. With the handles and lock all now one solid amalgamation you knew that she would be locked in there for a bit. Turning back around you continue running off down the hall searching for a room that seemed important until you found one. Looking at the sign that said Tube Room you decided to investigate more. Phasing through the wall you entered the room and saw a line of different tubes spread down the length of a hall. Taking a look around to see that no one was there, you drop your invisibility and prepare for the mother of all distractions. Closing your eyes, you took a deep breath and focused on the molecules around you in this room. Specifically, that of the tubes that lined the walls Shooting your eyes back open you took off running down the hall of tubes, blowing each one behind you up as you passed them by. You could feel the pulsing of the explosions and the heat from the leftover flames as you continued to move forward down the hall. As you reached the end of the hall, you ran through the wall to the other side hearing the sound of the last explosion resonate behind you. You stopped for a moment to brush yourself off when you heard over the PA system,
"Security to the tube room. Security to the tube room."
"I better get out of here." You say to yourself
You look around for any sign that would point you in the direction of the east side of the building. You should've asked for more directions from Dot, but you were all too excited to start bringing this organization to its knees. Down the hall, you see a sign with an arrow on it pointing towards the period clothing department.
"Bingo," you exclaim
You start to quickly make your way towards the sign when you hear someone from behind you yell,
"Stop right there!"
Looking back you saw a significant amount of people in blue suits pointing guns at you. You were about to run away when you looked forward and saw another similar-looking group on the other side of the hall.
"Shit."
You were trapped. Granted, you weren't really trapped, you could just use your powers to sneak out of this situation but you had no clue if Dot was able to get a briefcase yet. Was this all the security they had or was there more scattered around? Dot had mentioned that Five blew up the briefcase room the last time he was here, so they had to have had more security for it. Security that you needed to draw to here.
"If you wanna stop me you're gonna have to kill me!" You announced
Guns drawn, the guards started to come towards you. You kept calm though and waited patiently for the first line of security to get close enough. If you were going to cause a distraction then hell you were going to make it unforgettable. Slowly, the 12 guards inched closer and closer until they were just where you wanted them. As this first line flanked you on all sides you gave them a wicked smile and within a second a boom rang throughout the hallway. It was all calm for a moment and then...chunks of flesh and blood rained down over the hall. There was nothing left where those 12 guards had stood, and at that moment it became clear that you were not trapped with these guards. They were trapped with you. You were Persephone, the bringer of destruction, and the chaos had only just begun.
Pulling out two of your knives you watched as more guards started showing up to try and stop you. You could feel the adrenaline you had injected coursing through your veins. This is where the fun begins. Realizing what you had just done the guards start to rush in. One by one you started to take them down. It was like you were moving in slow motion as you fought the crowd around you. Your movements becoming less so fighting maneuvers and more of a rhythmic dance. In a focused daze, you made your way around slashing throats and melting brains of all those who charged at you. With their guns drawn, they sent shots your way but it did not matter because all the bullets did was go through you and hit other guards. You watched the blood and the shit spray as swathes of agents dropped to the floor dead. The lucky ones were shot or blown to bits while the less fortunate dealt with the pain of slowly burning to death or being tossed back and forth between the walls like useless playthings. You bathed in the sounds of their agony. They all were going to suffer the way they made your darling Five do for years. And like the Roman empire, they fell to their demise.
When the combat had stopped you came out of your trance. Catching your breath you looked around at the bloodbath you created. The once white marble floors were now stained with rivers of red. You were victorious in your battle, and like the Queen of Hell, your destruction reigned over this place. You turned to walk away and head towards the storage closet when the sound of a gun rang out and pain came to your arm. You looked down and saw that a bullet had grazed your forearm leaving behind a wound. Your head shot back in anger to see where the shot hand came from. One guard was still alive, paralyzed from the waist down but still alive. You made your way towards them and they tried to shoot again but they were all out of bullets. Slowly, you crouched down to them on the floor, your eyes ignited with flames and you said in a low tone,
"You missed."
Reaching into their chest you ripped out their heart and crushed it in front of them. You watched as the light quickly slipped from your eyes. Letting out a huff you placed two fingers over your wound and used your powers to cauterize it. You were done here and made your way towards the rendezvous point. As you walked that way the adrenaline started to wear off and you started to fully realize what had gone down. Urgency set in as you saw the blood you were covered in and realized you need to get out of here. Finally seeing the clothing department you ran into it real quick and changed clothes, using some scrap cloths and a water bottle you found to wipe the blood off of you. You then raced across the hall to storage closet 2 where Dot, Diego and a group of other people were all standing around.
"Hey everyone," You say frantically "We need to get out of here fast because I'm pretty sure I just committed a war crime."
"Oh, uh okay. Well, unfortunately, we couldn't grab a fully functioning briefcase in time because people came back to protect the briefcase room," Herb explains
"But, we still got one!" Dot explains positively "It just happens to be a one-way case. They become useless after one time jump."
"We've already set it up with the correct time and location. Halfway between FBI headquarters and the pub where Five is located." Herb adds "Here are some maps to show you how to get to those places."
You and Diego both reach out and grab a map.
"Thank you." You reply quickly
Diego turns to look at you,
"Ready to go, kiddo?"
You nodded your head quickly at him. Diego took the briefcase in one hand and wrapped his other arm around you tightly. Herb stepped forward and pushed a few buttons before stepping back you could feel the energy from the case start to grow as you tried to manage your breathing. Giving the group of people before you one last look, you say,
"Vive la résistance."
Almost immediately after there was a flash and now you stood with your brother in the middle of Dallas, back in 1963. You watched as the briefcase started smoking and making unpleasant clanking sounds. Finding a nearby dumpster, Diego threw the defunct briefcase away before coming back over to you and pulling out his map trying to figure out the path to the FBI building. It wasn't far from where you stood but every second spent standing around was another second closer to Vanya ending the world...again. Looking up from his map he looked towards you. You silently looked back at him and waited for him to say something. You could tell something was on his mind. Diego was torn. He wanted to bring you with him to the FBI headquarters so he knew where you were and didn't have to worry that you had been taken by Lila again but he didn't want to put in danger of what Vanya was doing. The last time Vanya strongly used her powers you were seriously injured and putting you right in harm's way of that was something he would never choose. Diego came to a decision in his head. It was going to take a lot to say this but Diego knew it was the best option.
"Go find Five. He'll keep you safe."
You were surprised by his statement. Diego had been very back and forth on you being with Five since every before Five came back, although he would never admit it.  But this plus the comment from earlier were the strongest confirmations that maybe just maybe, Diego was coming around. Although his comments gave you reason to celebrate, this was not really the time and you were also very worried about him. You didn't want to be separated from your brother especially if he was headed to stop Vanya.
"Will you be okay?" You questioned
"I'll be fine." Diego responds "Now go get to Five. He can protect you from the commission more than I can."
Instead of saying any words you just took a step forward and hugged your brother. It was brief because time was of the essence but it was enough to reassure both him and yourself that things would be alright. You pulled away from Diego and the two of you gave each other knowing nods before turning in opposite directions and running towards your respective destinations. Using your powers you made yourself lighter so that you could move faster. You had no clue if the commission was after you. You wouldn't be surprised given you had pissed off both Lila and her mom, the handler. It didn't take you long to see the pub marked on your map up ahead. You slowed your pace as you made your way to the door and calmly entered the establishment. You looked around for a second before spotting a familiar uniformed boy, sitting alone at a table. You walked over to the table he was at and called,
"Five."
His head snaps over to you. His eyes were wide and his face was covered in sweat. You were taken aback by how frantic and unwell he looked. You cupped his face in your hands and felt the warmth radiating off of his skin. As you tried to cool down the water molecules in the sweat on his face you said,
"Oh my god, are you feeling okay darling? You look awful."
Five quietly stood up as you still held his face in your hands. He appreciated you using your powers to try and cool him down but he was confused as to what you were doing here.
"How did you find me?" He asked
"I'm fine." you instinctively responded
"That's not the question I asked." Five states "Also are these new clothes?"
"Listen, the specifics of the situation don't matter too much right now but I promise I will tell you later. What's the plan?" You inquired
"I- I don't know." Five states scratching the back of his neck "I'm still working on it."
"Don't worry, it's going to be okay." you comforted as you brought him into a hug "We'll figure this out together."
Five wrapped his arms back around you and held you tightly. IF he was experiencing any paradox psychosis, at that moment it melted away for a bit. Just you being with him gave him a sense of calm even though the world around him was anything but that. He just hoped that this calm would last even after Luther had returned.
As Luther had walked into the bathroom a few moments earlier, he sees Commission Five standing in front of the sink looking at the glass eye that would belong to the future, Harold Jenkins. Walking over to the urinals he comments to Five,
"Yeah, that's a waste of time. Trust me."
A waste of time? It was one of the only clues he had. How could it be a waste of time? "Then why were you holding it when I found you dead in the apocalypse?" Five questioned
"No idea. But the guy it belonged to didn't end the world. Vanya did." Luther stated "Timid little Vanya?" Five asked confused
"Yep. Is more powerful than all of us put together. Turns out, she was pissed about the way we treated her when we were kids, so she destroyed the moon and ended the world."
"Fair enough." Five said nodding his head "This is perfect. We now know exactly what's gonna happen."
"Yeah, except it, uh, already did," Luther replies approaching Five
Five turns to him with plenty of new ideas rushing through his mind. Not only how to stop the apocalypse and get this version of Five to disappear. He was unnecessary. "Don't think, just listen. Forget about the little jerk-off's plan. It's way too complicated. A much better plan is for us to travel to 2019. All we have to do is make nice with Vanya, stop her from destroying the world. Easy-peasy." Five explains "Hmm. Well, that's actually...that's not bad." Luther responds "But what about Five? I mean, you? I mean, the, uh, young you."
"That's not me. That's a teenaged hormonal photocopy that got botched in the time jump. Besides, it's too late for him anyway." Five states
"Too late? Paradox psychosis?" Luther inquires
Five nods his head, answering, "Best thing we can do is put him out of his misery." "You're saying to kill him?"
"You're thinking about this all wrong. We're not killing anybody." Five elaborates "Look at me. I'm Five, and I will still be alive. All we are doing is getting rid of a mutant doppelganger."
"Are you sure you don't have paradox psychosis?" Luther questions concerned "I've never felt better in my life." Five states
I just don't know Five..." Luther responds warily "(Y/N) wouldn't be very happy to know her boyfriend is gone from existence."
Commission Five stopped in his place. His head slowly turned back to look at Luther who had an innocent yet conflicted look on his face.
"Boyfriend?" He questioned surprised
"Yeah. Boyfriend." Luther responds "But like I was saying, I don't know about getting rid of him, this would be like the third time she's lost him- you...y'all? And she's really powerful and she almost killed me once for insulting Diego, and you remember the bank she blew that guy's head clean off. I just don't feel like it's the best idea to rip that Five away from her..."
Commission Five hadn't listened to a word Luther had said though because once the word boyfriend had slipped from Luther's mouth his heart began to race. If that version was her boyfriend that meant she loved him too. No. That would be insane. Maybe Luther said the words too fast and so he said boyfriend when he meant boy friend. There was no way that she felt the same way he did. Could she? Did she love him this whole time? Did she die loving him the same way he loved her? No, they were just friends. Just...friends. Five wanted to believe that what Luther was saying was true and that she did love him enough to have him be her boyfriend but it just didn't add up in his mind. How could she love someone who abandoned her in a different time, who took everything she knew away from her and left her wondering till the day she died if her best friend was mad at her. It was impossible though. Five looks up towards Luther who still towered over him like he did when they were kids.
"The little prick out there won't tell me jack about her." Five complains before asking quietly "What's she like Luther?"
"Well...I haven't been around her much but uh she's very powerful, more so than when we were kids. Uh, I mean she definitely cares about the people she loves, and um apparently she was dad's favorite both in 2019 and this timeline."
"That makes sense. When I read her diary she wrote about a lot of the things he did for her. Was too much to be coincidental."
"Wait what? He did stuff for her?" Luther questions
"Doesn't matter. So she's here? In this timeline?" Five inquires
"Uh- I don't know where but yeah," Luther responds
Five nods his head.
"Alright well, let's head out then." Five comments
As the two of them open the men's bathroom door and exit both of them see a sight they didn't know would be there. Five froze in place and his jaw dropped as he looked ahead of him.
"Oh look, there she is!" Luther commented
He was right. There you stood. Alive. Five could feel his heart stop and he didn't know if he was breathing anymore as he stared off at you. The world faded away as his focus became you and only you. Five could feel his heart clench as he remembered the last time he saw you alive. It was 45 years ago, right before you died. He remembered cradling you in his arms, blood getting on his academy uniform as he cried over your dead body. Tears pricked his eyes as he took all of you in. You were smiling, moving, breathing and to him, that was a miracle. He could only see the side of your face but the little shit was right, you were ethereal. As the world came back into focus he noticed you wrapped in the arms of his teenage counterpart. He saw the gentle look in his counterpart's eyes as your hands wrapped around his neck bringing him into a hug. Five wanted a hug from you, it had been so long since he had gotten one. As Five stood there, he felt Luther nudge his arm. Turning his attention to him, Luther says,
"Alright lover boy, time to get your head out of the clouds and go interact with the love of your life for the first time in years."
"Ah well, no...we're just- I mean..." Five stutters
"Oh, we're just best friends. Don't give me that shit you openly yelled about how you loved her when we were 12." Luther ridicules "Now c'mon let's go."
Luther starts to push Commission Five forwards back towards the table and Commission Five's heart begins to race with every step closer. As Academy Five noticed Commission Five head back towards the table he held you tighter to him. His face contorted into a scowl as he looked at this version of his approach towards you. He could see the look on his face, one of nervousness and awe. Academy Five didn't like it one bit and if it wasn't for you hugging him he felt like he would've punched the old man right where he stood. You felt as Five tensed up in the hug and pulled back to look at him. looking up at his face you saw it was filled with anger but couldn't begin to decipher why. You followed his gaze to see what had angered him so and when you looked behind you, you saw Luther standing there with an older gentleman. You looked back towards your boyfriend whose face was still filled with rage and asked,
"Five, who is this?"
Five stared the man down and let out a huff before replying,
"He's me."

I made an account for the sole purpose of this TUA fic concept
I’m a sucker for those “the characters read the books/watch the series” fics and I’ve read a little for TUA but I just had the idea:
The Hargreeves kids watching the two seasons but instead of just the seven of them, their birth mothers are brought in to watch as well
Maybe have the birth mothers family (if they have any) watch it with them
This happens before everything. Before Ben’s death, before Five’s disappearance, before they even have their names. The kids, One through Seven, are brought in. Maybe when they’re old enough to get the gist of what’s going on, but before they’re 13.
These 6 young women are brought in (because I adore that Luther and Five being twins is canon in the comics and I love the mention of it), and they’re confused because maybe The Umbrella Academy isn’t internationally well known so the kids are familiar but they can’t put the name to the face. Not until they introduce themselves, anyways, and suddenly they’re face to face with the baby that they gave away years ago.
Maybe a few of them regret it, maybe they tried to forget it, maybe they spend so much of their time thinking about it or maybe they’re overjoyed that their baby seems to be doing so well.
But their names.
There’s just so much about them that doesn’t feel,,, so right? Maybe that’s not the word for it but they’re too polite sometimes, their casually cruel treatment towards their sister isn’t normal and the way that they simultaneously act entitled and inferior towards each other isn’t suppose to be as normal as the kids make it out to be.
All in all, the women are confused and maybe a bit wary of their casual usage of powers among each other that’s normal to the siblings as much as it is abnormal to the birth mothers.
But communication is easy since each child learned their own mother language as well as the language of their siblings birth place and then some which only seems to remind the women that holy shit these kids are technically rich because of their father
The Hargreeves though? They’re confused and wary as hell. They may not have been introduced as The Inaugural Class of The Umbrella Academy yet (or maybe they have considering what your timeline is) but they’ve been training for most of their life and the situation is baffling. Here are these random people that they’ve never met before (at least to their knowledge) and they’ve never had to go outside to interact with others, not really at least.
So it makes sense that they go for polite but threatening. They maybe decide unanimously that the weaker willed ones like Four, Six and Seven are discreetly protected behind their older (in spirit) siblings, One, Two, Three and Five.
But they’re no real threat, its obvious in the way that the Hispanic woman uses such an endearing term like “mijo/a” and the way that the Russian woman has an ever present smile on her face and such a sweet disposition that reminds them of their littlest sibling and hey her eyes look just like Seven
So after a while, they’re more open to being relaxed. Not Five though, he’s always been just a little paranoid and being a 58-year-old in a 13-year-old body never had anything to do with it. So he’s got a harsh personality but the Danish woman doesn’t seem to be deterred. He kind of reminds her of her older twin brother who acts so harshly, but who she knows loves her so much.
So here are 7 siblings and 6 women and maybe family that was there for the women when they needed them the most. And maybe the person(s) behind this decide to be kept anonymous but they oh so want the children to get to know what being cared for is like. Maybe these women get to know the consequences of their actions or the children learn that the one who birthed them had their reasons. And it’s no excuse but it’s also not their fault. Both parties should be able to feel what they feel because it’s a complicated and maybe painful situation.
The children lose their respect for their father every episode. Even One, who they all know cherished the favoritism but it doesn’t get in the way of his horror when he finds out that he used to lock Four in the mausoleum, still does if the flashbacks are anything to go by because not Four, not the kindest and brightest of their siblings.
And when they learn of Seven’s powers and the reason why they are never present, they are understandably upset. They feel rage and disbelief that she had such a crucial part of herself ripped away at such a young age, because they know that their powers are like another limb. They’re born with it and they grow up with it and they were able to live their life with it so they feel rage. Rage that Seven had been so violated. Rage that the Seven they know isn’t really the Seven she was suppose to grow up to be. The Seven they knew as toddlers was sweet towards them but had a mean protective streak a mile wide that could never be controlled, not even by their father. The Seven they know now is so meek and desperate for attention. The Russian woman looks the most devastated as she thinks of the baby girl she got to hold for only a few hours before she was whisked away by a rich old man who is turning out to be the monster that one often hears about in television.
But the women? They watch as the children in front of them, maybe a little damaged and emotionally constipated but so obviously protective and caring for each other, grow to be the grow ups in the screen above them that grow up and grow apart after so much tragedy.
They watch as seven eventually becomes five.
How Luther is sent to isolation for years and he goes along with it in a bid to continue to please their father.
How Diego continues to rebel because he wasn’t able to growing up but also maybe because he wants to spite his father, no matter how much he protests that he could care less what his father thinks.
How Allison goes through a divorce and loses her parental rights to even see her daughter due to her dependence of her powers that leaves her devastated.
How Klaus is an addict who desperately wishes to get rid of the ghosts that have followed him all his life.
How Five disappears only a little while after their current timeline.
How Ben was brutally killed by his own powers, never getting to grow up and become his own person.
How Vanya can’t seem to do anything but go through the motions of her life, maybe having a little hope that she’ll be seen this time around, but is quickly squashed from Diego’s disparaging comments and the casual dismissal of her from her living siblings.
They watch all this, and feel sadness and rightful anger that their babies lead the life of ex-child superheroes. The life of abused children. The life of children who had only each other.
But was it really enough? Was it enough to know that they loved each other but had a hard time showing it and owning up to it due to fear of their father? Due to the constant comparisons and the way Sir Reginald had them turn on each other.
But they knew it was enough. They see it in how Diego waits for Klaus to drive him around even after he had expresses annoyance beforehand, in the joy on Allison’s face when she sees Klaus again after so long, in how Five makes sure to check up on Klaus after his kidnapping, on Luther’s face when he apologizes to Vanya after realizing his own misgivings, in Ben’s task of continuing to follow his brother around even when it pains him and in Klaus trying to comfort Luther after he finds the unopened correspondents. They see it in the support they show Vanya as she goes to check on Harlan.
It had to be enough to know that after all they went through, they still care for one another and at the end of the day, would protect one another just as they were as One through Seven.
So they watch what would be the Hargreeve’s kids misadventures, they watch as they grow together and grow apart just to grow together again, much stronger than before.
They express sadness and disbelief when they see where Five ends up, they get mad when Leonard throws Vanya’s pills away, they grieve when they learn that Ben is dead, they’re embarrassed but find it hilarious whenever Klaus cracks an inappropriate joke, they become protective when there’s allusion to Vanya having sex, and are rightfully ready to throw down with Leonard as they watch their littlest sibling get gaslit into believing her family hates her as he nitpicks all of her interactions with her family.
But just as they express their feelings over what happens to their family, they feel an immense amount of exasperation towards their older selves because so much could be fixed if they only talked to each other.
They watch and despair over the missed opportunity that is Leonard in the same house as them just as they find out what his role is in the apocalypse.
Four tears up as he watched Klaus and Dave’s reunion be undone after all the heartache.
Seven cringes when Vanya dismisses Five’s claims that he had been stuck in an apocalyptic wasteland and suggests that he’s gone crazy after his stint with time travel.
Three feels her heart drop to her stomach as the flashback shows what becomes the moment that she faces the hard truth that come with her use of her powers.
Five feels himself flush in embarrassment as he watched two version of himself in the future, one that looks not much older than he does currently, go through paradox psychosis.
Six feels frustration and a fierce grief that leaves him confused because he’s still alive he’s not dead, but I don’t have much longer.
One feels horror as he watches himself hurt his siblings one after the other with a sense of helplessness because this isn’t me, I wouldn’t do this but I already did, why would I hurt my siblings, I’m Number One I have to be the one who protects them-
The women, on the other hand, see themselves in their children.
The French woman sees how her daughter and granddaughter, it seems, both look like a carbon copy of herself and her own mother.
The Danish woman sees herself and her twin brother in Luther and Five. Sees her own personality reflected in Luther and her brothers personality in Five. Sees how her twins care just as much for each other and their siblings as herself and her brother do each other.
The Hispanic woman sees Diego’s fierce sense of justice that leaves others in the dust, and sees herself as she fought to keep her boy but ultimately lost him just as Diego loses Eudora. She thinks to herself like mother like son and bitterly laughs to herself but she’s so grateful that Diego had a mother who cared for him just as she cared for him because she often though about him and always made sure to commemorate his birthday.
The German woman can’t help but see herself in her boy. Can’t help but see her little brother in him. Can’t help but see her older brother in him. Because Klaus is so joyful but he hides his pain behind a mask like her younger brother, he’s so loving towards his siblings like her older brother, and so nonsensical like herself. So like herself, down to the curly hair and the addiction. Even if she was able to overcome it with support from her family, it pains her and leaves her in despair to see Klaus and can’t find fault in those he had around him because she sees how much they try and sees how hard the Hargreeves find expressing emotion is to others.
The Asian woman sees how sweet and shy her youngest is and thinks only of her oldest, who reminds her so much of him and can only despair in seeing that he didn’t live as long as her oldest had. She can only ask herself why her children don’t seem to be able to see themselves to adulthood but can only be grateful that even in death he has someone with him.
The Russian woman knows that her husband sees her in little number Seven, in Vanya, no matter how little that is. Maybe their personalities aren’t so similar because Seven is shy but she’s got the sweetest heart and so clearly loves her siblings. She has the same smile that she has and her little doe eyes remind her of herself when she was younger. She’s so small next to her siblings, just like herself.
So they see themselves in these kids, these grown ups. But so do the Hargreeves.
They see how Luther looks like what the Danish woman would look like as a man and how Five looks exactly like a younger version of the Danish man who introduced himself as the woman's older brother.
They see how Two has the same skin tone and facial structure as the Hispanic woman.
They see that Allison looks exactly like the French woman and see the same in Claire.
They see Four’s curly hair and slim build in the German woman.
They notice how Six shares the same dark hair and lower facial features.
They see Seven’s eyes and smile and short stature in the Russian woman.
So maybe they don’t know them well enough to see what the women see, but they grow to see it overtime because they spend so much time there, in this suspended room in time.
The women insist on getting to know them and vice versa. They insist that they have to talk about their feelings and assure them or gently scold them, depending on the reason, for what they feel because god do these children need to learn how to talk more about their emotions in a healthy way.
They get closer to the children and start to really see their childish side. They all fight over the silliest things, and become pouty when attention isn’t being drawn over to them. They crave physical affection, even Five who won’t admit that his maternal uncle patting him and One of the head made him feel all gooey inside. They make faces towards foods that they don’t like and still prefer junk food over real food.
So maybe it’s harder to let themselves act like children because they’re being conditioned to not “be childish” but even then they have their lapses in control. Four enters a state of panic after being reminded of his time in the mausoleum. One feels overwhelming guilt when he sees how Luther hurts Klaus and reminds himself that he’s the one that needs to protect them, as the leader and self proclaimed older sibling. Five feels himself cry for the first time in a long while when he sees how his siblings act towards him in the future and realize it hurts him deeply because he knows that he’s messed up their lives a lot but can’t they see that he only want to keep them alive, he doesn’t want to see them die again, he can’t-
But instead of being shamed into controlling their emotions, they are comforted and reassured. Four’s birth mother helps ground him and counts his breathing with him to keep him from falling further into his panic. One get’s reassured by his birth mother that his future self isn’t his current self. That everyone in the room has seen just how much he cares for his siblings and knows he would do anything for them. The twins uncle gives into his urge and hugs Five, whispering in a hushed tone that it’s okay to cry, to let it all out. He whispers that his older siblings are being idiots and if they knew just how much their actions were hurting you, they wouldn’t hesitate to apologize and hug you too. His words only make Five cry harder.
So they are cared for and allowed to be themselves fully and can be childish to their hearts content. And their birth families watch on in amazement and adoration.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have so much more that I’ll probably add later, but basically I want them to be cared for, allowed to care for each other and learn to express themselves better. I want to see them get to have a good relationship with an adult and if possible their birth mothers.
Pls share links and stuff if you get inspired, I’m not much for writing fanfic but I really do want to see something like this. I’d read the shit out of it. I have so much more that I want to add but I’ll probably do something about it later.

Umbrella Academy Review 2.01
Right Back Where We Started
I went into Season 1 with very little to no expectations, having no real idea what the show was about. But going into the first episode of the 2nd Season of The Umbrella Academy my expectations were extremely high - and boy it did not disappoint.
We start this episode pretty much where we left off, with the siblings travelling in time to escape the apocalypse. They land in Texas, all in the same alley but not all in the same year. First off is Klaus and Ben, who find themselves in 1960, then Alison, dropped into 1961, Luther, a year later in 1962 and Diego, Vanya and Five are all dropped into 1963, albeit in completely different months. Vanya is awake when she lands in the alley but understandably is disoriented, she runs in the road and is instantly hit by a car (I say hit, it looks more like a small bump) Five on the other hand lands in the centre of a war zone, with his siblings firmly in the middle of the action. The siblings are all fighting together and all seem as though they are in complete control of their powers (which is a first). Just as Five runs out to join the action, he is stopped by an older looking Hazel, insisting that if he wants to live, he needs to go with him. As Five and Hazel use the suitcase to escape, the rest of the siblings stand together as the world ends once again - phew all that action and already and that's before the credits have even rolled and needless to say, I am excited.
We follow Hazel and Five, back again to the same street, different time, as Hazel explains that the end of the world now takes place in November 1963. He informs Five that they have travelled 10 days earlier and this should be enough time to stop it - I like Hazel but he could have given Five more time surely? It’s a time travelling suitcase after all he could have given him a little longer - a bus stops and 3 white haired men with guns show up clearly looking for Five, Hazel has just enough time to pass the suitcase over and save Five before the men shoot and take him out - I realise Hazel’s story was over but I still didn’t expect them to kill off a main character in the 1st 10 mins of the season.
With the suitcase destroyed, Five doesn’t have a lot of choice on where to go, after some very astute observations he makes his way up to see the man we saw watching his siblings as they landed - as Five talks to him, he reveals the ‘alien behaviour’ he has seen - giving Five the information he needs so that he knows that his plan may not have gone exactly as he had hoped, but his siblings are alive although they are stranded throughout time, but seeing as though he’s the last to arrive he should be able to find them all.
We find Diego as an inpatient, clearly still working through his Daddy issues - but Diego’s just playing them, wanting to get discharged earlier than planned - surely he must realise that shouting about how someone’s going to kill the president in 10 days time (is it a coincidence that this is the same day the new apocalypse is due to take place), only makes a case for his stay to be extended. Not long after, Diego’s told he has a visitor and he’s taken to see Five waiting for him. Five explains to him that there’s a new apocalypse and he needs his help, Diego on the other hand is still convinced that he needs to save the president first and Five informs the guards of Diego’s escape plan, leaving him in the hospital.
Diego is placed in a straight-jacket, sedated and placed into a padded room after his visit with Five and even then he is determined to escape. Unfortunately for Diego, the 3 white haired men show up as he is attempting his escape and he ends up being joined by Lila, who saves him from a bully of an employee - Lila's doing well at playing a little less than sane but that’s exactly what I think she’s doing, playing at it. I have no clue how she fits into anything yet but I don’t believe for a second that her being around Diego was a coincidence, as we all know coincidences don’t exist in TV. Diego and Lila, against all odds, manage to evade the men and escape the hospital
Next we see Vanya, she’s living with the woman who knocked her down the day she arrived in the alley and has no memory whatsoever about who she is or how she got there. It’s sad that Vanya doesn’t know who she is but at the same time she seemed happier than we have ever seen her
Vanya seems to have formed a close bond with Sissy, who seems less than happy with her life - there are definitely vibes between these two
Klaus and Ben are next up and first things first - Klaus looks incredible! Klaus’s attitude on the other hand doesn’t seem to have changed much and he and Ben seem to need some time apart, which is a shame when your only connection to the physical world is the person you need time apart from. After losing at poker, (mostly due to Ben messing with him) Klaus finds himself in a fight and steals a truck to get back to Dallas - classic Klaus
When we catch up with Alison, she is happily married to Raymond, who seems to really love her. She's used her 2 years to really build a life for herself, and not one that she may want to leave so easily.
Holding a meeting at a beauty parlor, Alison and her husband are interrupted by a clearly racist man sticking his nose where is doesn’t belong and for that he gets literally kicked to the curb by Alison - good for her, he was an arsehole
Luther is a far cry from the guy we’re used to seeing, when we catch up with him he’s in the middle of what i have to assume is a less than legal fight and seems to have no qualms about hurting people - I have never really connected with Luther and by the end of season 1 I was less than happy with the ridiculous decisions he was making but even I felt sad seeing the change and pure misery on his face.
To quote Five, Luther’s hovering like an ambitious stripper in a bar when he realises that Five is there, Five makes his second attempt of the day to reunite with one of his siblings and for the second time that day he fails - Luther doesn’t care that the worlds ending and isn’t down to help this time
We end the episode here, and as the episode title spells out for us, we’re literally back where we started, the siblings separated and only days away from the world ending and just like with the end of the first episode of Season 1, I’m all in
Extra Thoughts:
Agnes passed away but her and Hazel had 20 years together - I’m glad they got their happy ending
If Vanya has no memories, how does she know her name? Is there something I missed?
The version of ‘Crazy’ playing while Diego escaped solitary was stunning - the music on this show never disappoints
None of the siblings have found each other in the time they have been there but Five drops in and finds 2 of them in less than a day - I know that Five is the smarter sibling but how hard did the others really try?

oohkay let's go tua with those ship asks: fiveya, horrance and alluther.
thanks el i love you
Send me a ship and I'll answer three questions based on if I ship it or not.
fiveya obvs i ship this since this is 90% of my tua drawings lol
1. ill wait ill wait (to be the one) by georgiestauffenberg made me ship it cause holy fuck dude. I dont know if i ship them romantically when i saw them onscreen cause first of all, age difference is kinda weird lmao. Second, they dont rlly interact much outside literally the first couple of eps. But he was so soft for her, and i felt like they had so much unexplored history.
so i looked at fanfics cause i was wondering if ppl still ship it, then i liked the description of this one so i gave it a go.
Basically the premise is that vanya dates a much older man who seems to know a lot about her. And it was amazingly in character and just provided their characters some depth that u wouldnt find outside of a romantic relationship between them. (The implication of five pining while she doesnt know who he is, their missed chances when he time travelled, fives missed chances of living and having a 'normal' life bec of his own hubris, vanyas insecurity and being able to open up bec shes with someone whos known her since childhood). Its so sweet and thats how i was like, oh yep i can do so much more with these two, and what has kept me interested in drawing them etc.
2. My favourite things are the shippers cause i made some friends in the fandom who are super cool and supportive! I dont get super involved in fandoms and usually just watch from afar so finding people to talk to and muck around with in this tiny fandom is super cool 😭
Though thats not to say I havent come across some bad apples in this fandom and things that I dont like. I think thats the importance of carving out a place for yourself and ur friends in fandom tho.
Another thing I like about the ship itself, i just like the grumpy person whos soft for one person trope. Its so cute. I like all the little clues in canon on how their relationship as kids is quite warm, which is interesting cause five is basically the star student and he can be quite cold vs vanya who is the black sheep of the family.
I also like how five likes her powers even when she caused the apocalypse he spent the majority of his life in lol. Like its a popular hc that five is just a wife guy and i love that.
I see vanya as the type who has a lot of love to give, and she sometimes has unrealistic expectations of what her partner can give. Betrayal and lies really angers her, but also when her partner cannot meet her expectations of love she gets very upset bec its also an indication of how shes not good enough, or not loveable enough to be able to have this in the relationship (her insecurity means every failing always comes back to her, even if its out of her control).
I feel like five would be a level-headed person enough in the relationship to not be afraid to say 'vanya ur being stupid' (ie. the s2 confrontation lmao). Also, five's personality means she will never have to doubt his actions bec she knows hes the type who will not give u the moment of the day if hes not interested.
Not to mention they also have the whole apocalypse vs. saviour, hero/villain thing. Theres just a lot to explore!
3. I probably have several. But mostly I dont mind five being a dick to vanya bec first, even if the appeal is hes soft to her hes already kind of a dick in canon lmao. Also, vanya isnt a child. Shes grown and she can handle petty af things like five telling her shes not good at cooking lol. I also dont mind it cause I feel like people are getting too afraid to write... conflict for fear or portraying an abusive relationship or smth. Like, chill. Conflict is fine, resolving it is how u get a story. However in saying that, nobody should be obligated to write any way unless you want to! Fanfic is for comfort so if what your doing is making u happy then its good enough!
horrance which i also ship but i love the platonic and romantic relationship equally:
1. I came in tua in general not shipping anything so Im honestly not sure. I do remember someone doing a meta before s2 came out that was basically how ben acted weird when klaus summoned dave in s1 that made me go 👀 Otherwise, tua s2 rlly made me like them cause tua FED horrance shippers. Like..... the fact that klaus didnt want ben to leave him, and ben knows thats why he stayed 😢 or the fact that klaus was all over him for some reason???? Somebody also mentioned gay ben once and I resonate with that deeply. Like i get that jill exists but i resonate with gay ben deeply.
2. I love their bickering, theyre so cute together. I just like ben being angry bec hes self aware that hes got both shit and amazing taste. Shit bec he cant believes he likes Klaus (and also amazing also bec Klaus). I think the idea of them being kind of underdogs, theyre not rlly leader types and dont want to be, helps them bond together even in platonic horrance. They're both down to earth, and even tho they can annoy each other, they also know if they want a space to feel comfortable its with each other. Theyre not pressured by rivalry over leadership, or any sort of competition.
I love the idea that even tho ben is like klaus's ''conscience'', hes also down for chaos and bitchy. I feel like klaus rlly enabled that side of him, its not exactly a good thing but its p funny lol
3. I know some people think their dynamic is unhealthy but i dont care lol
alluther. So id say i dont ship this, mostly due to the fact that im not invested? Just like all tua ships so far I rlly came out not wanting anything but platonic relationships cause I feel tua doesnt do romance very well. With alluther, theyre so cute but im not super invested in either of their chars so they havent stuck for me. I appreciate seeing them and talking about them tho, and I'm def open to exploring them further.
1. I think tua canon romances are just so lackluster 😔 Idk who writes the romances but I was just like 'nice' but afterwards I dont really think about them. I love their dance scene and the message behind it! Otherwise, theyre sweet like most of the tua romances but im not super invested, same with all the non canon ships.
2. I really feel like tua needs to decide on what their relationship is. Like, just say its incest or not and stick with it 👀 Or if you wanna support it or not, just make up ur mind. I think I would've liked it better if I found the characters more interesting. Allison especially I feel like suffers from the fact that tua just doesn't want to make her ''mean''. They want to make her supportive and are less interested in making her flawed (ie. she should've had a conflict with Vanya in s2, but the writers didnt want to write the girls fighting which is stupid imo and not what that conflict is about).
In regards to Alluther, the scene where Allison gets annoyed at Luther for sleeping with someone else felt out of line. Like, how are you marrying other people and moving on but Luther isn't allowed to? But honestly, I don't mind if they actually just acknowledge it and make it a deliberate part of Allison's trait that Allison can expect a certain loyalty automatically from other people (which can tie in to her childhood being a star, and the rumour).
Luther is a big simp for Allison, which is sweet, but at the same time it would be nice to have him explore himself for a bit, and who he is outside of the academy. Then maybe they can rekindle their relationship again as new people and see where they go from there.
3. I don't hate them, but they're ok. I'm not super invested in them, just like all the tua canon romance. But I wouldn't mind making content for them if I were a bit more invested in their characters. I love their dance scene in s1 and I feel like its super a underrated portrayal of what their relationship is meant to be. I know no one talks about it but it's just such a great scene, and I'm pretty sure the choreographer was into interpretive dance? The scene had a lot of meaning that I don't see people dig around with.
Essentially I'm pretty sure the fairy lights are obviously a throwback to their childhood together, spending time outside of Reggie. So the dance scene kind of symbolized that pocket of space they made for each other in their life (even if theyre far away, or with other people, they will always have that space for each other).
The way they danced was more like playfighting than dancing, which means their relationship isn't sensual. It's more ''pure'', and romantic. Its basically two kids rekindling their love as adults. I also think this is a response to the incest, cause in s1 tua klaus literally said that 'thank god Regg is not their real father' right before Allison and Luther meet lmao. So its kinda like saying Allison x Luther isnt supposed to be 'ohh step sibling hot' but two people who experienced the same trauma as kids and finding comfort with each other (and rekindling that love after many years).

Umbrella Academy Season 3 Predictions [SPOILERS]
Season 2 ended with quite the brainfuck, Sparrow Academy and all. So apparently our lovely children have fucked up the timeline for good now.
Or have they?
Without too much analyzing, and without knowing what else might have changed in 2019, I'd say the two main reasons for the change would probably have been
the crew meeting Reginald in 1963 and explaining everything, from the apocalypse to their powers.
not taking Harlan, who still has powers, with them to 2019.
First point is interesting, because in season 1 we've always wondered, FIVE has wondered how Reginald could possibly know about the apocalypse. So maybe he knows because they told him. But because obviously, the timeline has been messed up, and the first time the apocalypse happened everyone but Five died, it might've been the first time ever they traveled back. So time loop? Unlikely.
Which brings me to my first thesis: a net of timelines.
Those who have watched Avengers Endgame know, that in the MCU there are different strings of time. Every time someone makes a change a new timeline arises. Without affecting the already established one.
And as Five has not yet stopped existing, his older self must've jumped back to 2019 and done everything he has done in Season 1. Means that timeline should still be existing. It should've even opened a new timeline, seeing as he would've kept his adult body this time. It would explain why Five is still stuck in his teenage body at the end of the season.
Effectively, the crew would have entered another timeline, much like an Alternate Universe.
So maybe the plot of season 3 will evolve around them trying to untangle the timelines and get back to theirs.
The alternative to that is to travel back and fix it before all of them stop existing, as they would have turned out completely different people in the just-one-changed-timeline-scenario. Which would too fit the whole apocalypse-deadline theme of the previous seasons. Just this time the apocalypse is limited to the Umbrella Academy.
Personally I think it will be the net of timelines, because why go as far as introducing a whole alternate reality and possibly new characters, only to send the crew right back to season 2? It wouldn't fit the quality of storytelling the show has provided so far.
Or maybe they'll only go and "fix" Harlan. A lot of people have already connected him to the Sparrow Academy because of his toy, which I think does make a lot of sense seeing how this show is in a sense supernatural people messing with time. As I've said earlier, he's probably got a big role in how everything turned out.
What I love about this is the foreshadowing it would have. Remember Fives and Vanyas argument in S2Ep7? Five said it would be too much of a risk to take Sissy and Harlan, cause it could change the timeline. Now look how fucking awesome it would be if NOT taking them was what actually messed it up. The poetic cinema.
Especially because Harlan got his powers AFTER that argument BECAUSE Five didn't force Vanya to come with him. (Which he could have done btw. Yes. I'm a sucker for Five being soft for Vanya.)
Sidenote: a lot of shit this season could've been prevented if Five would have treated Vanya like he treats the rest of his siblings. (Remember he straight up told Diego he would kill him if he didn't go along with the plan, and ten minutes later let Vanya say goodbye to Sissy tho it endangered their success in saving the world? Yup.)
Okay, back on topic.
Why the Commission hasn't intervened isn't that difficult.
Obviously they are short on assassin's after Vanya vibe checked them all in "The End Of Something", so they wouldn't have had the resources to fix it, by, for example, taking out Harlan.
They did try to preserve the timeline, by taking out the Hargreeves siblings in season 2, which failed obviously. And in the end Herb and Co did them a favor by letting them return to 2019, either because they willingly let the timeline change now that the company is upside down, or because everything had been fucked up already at that point, beyond their control because of missing personell.
Now it gets tricky, because I haven't yet gotten behind how the Commissions time runs. That's why I can't say what part they'll play in season 3. Perhaps they'll be out of the picture completely due to lack of assassins, or maybe they'll help Five and Co fix everything. But that would be too easy honestly.
What else could happen?
Lila. She disappeared with a briefcase, fucked off to god knows when, I don't believe she'll be left out of the picture. She and Diego will probably get a side plot about her overcoming her upbringing and finding real love, a real family. Because Five time travelled to save them, the Handler didn't get time to show her ugly side to Lila before dying. Could very well be that this effects her deception of the Umbrella crew and she turns into somewhat of an enemy-to-friends kinda scenario. Perhaps she'll be pitted against Five again.
Sissy comeback? I dunno, but she'd probably be around 80/90 in 2019? I could see her and Vanya getting a short reunion for nostalgias sake and to get Vanya some closure, tho I thought their last scene in ep10 to be pretty good on that part. Maybe she'll come in in connection with Harlan.
More sibling interaction. They've done so well setting up Team Zero this season, I'm fucking excited for what the next will hold.
More a personal wish of mine, but everyone being overprotective over Vanya. Imagine the Sparrow Academy bad mouthing her and Diego, Luther and Five going overprotective brother™ while Allison and Klaus give em stanky eye and judge.
Everyone getting their powers in check, Five and Vanya especially. Five because we've already seen him making incredible progress, and Vanya, because maybe in this timeline she is able to control her powers and learns from her other self? But that's for another post.
Which brings me to last but not least, the Sparrow Academy. The potential! I'm gonna do a separate post about my thoughts on this, because this one is already way too long and I have a lot of thoughts on it.
Whatever might happen, I can't wait. Given the ending of season 2, the possibilities are endless. I mean? They have a freaking briefcase? Five just managed to time travel on his own?
On that note I might need to mention I haven't read the graphic novels so I can't take any predictions from that. This post is likely gonna be extended at some point.

The 1960s probably wasn't the best place for you and your boyfriend.
While, yes, there were more important things to figure out- like how to get back to 2019- you couldn't help but get upset over the prospect that you could no longer show your boyfriend the normal affection you gave him in public.
People were ignorant assholes, and you wanted to show them that you didn't give a shit about their opinions, but you'd rather not get beaten to death before you could return home.
By some luck, though, you watched as Klaus managed to find a safe place in an older woman's house. One thing led to another, and the next thing you know, your boyfriend is running a cult, and you're there by his side.
It was weird to see such a large group of people sharing the same hand tattoos as Klaus, as well as them believing his every word. You didn't mind much due to his ability to convince them that your relationship was a normal one. Suddenly you had a sheltered place where you could safely love Klaus.
It was also nice to see other people appreciating him, even if the whole thing was borderline creepy.
The two of you ended up traveling the world with his cult, and you watched as he slowly but surely became overwhelmed by them all.
You were ready to pull him out, but he beat you to it, slipping away from everyone and urging you- and Ben, who had to have been present- into a car and driving you back to Texas.
It was there that you could finally get some peace and quiet, and more importantly, some alone time with Klaus.
You and Klaus lounged on inflatables in the large pool, enjoying the silence and each other's company.
The quiet sound of heels on concrete had you standing upright, afraid that one of Klaus's followers had come back. If there was one, others would be close.
You could recognize the woman even from a distance.
"Allison?" you called out. The mention of her caught Klaus's attention, who sat up as well.
"YN!" she exclaimed. "Klaus!"
Your boyfriend cheered at the sight of his sister.
Allison hastily pulled off her heels and dropped into the pool to embrace the two of you with a passion.
"Oh, god, you guys are really here," she breathed. "It's been so long!"
"We thought you were dead," Klaus told her. "We thought we were the only ones left."
"Me too," she said.
"Sit down," you told her. "We need to catch up."
"Yeah, you wanna tell me how the two of you ended up in a place like this?"
"Klaus started a cult, is how," you answered. Allison laughed with a faint look of confusion.
"It is not a cult," Klaus played, "we've talked about this. It's an 'alternative spiritual community.'"
You snorted at your boyfriend.
"Nope," Allison smiled, "you definitely started a cult."
Klaus was quick to wave her off. "What have you been up to?"
~
You didn't expect to be showing up drunk with your boyfriend and his sister at their little 'family meeting,' but fate seemed to be playing a funny game with you.
The three of you stumbled into the shop with an annoyed Five, Klaus making Allison laugh at his French.
He came to a stop next to you and Allison as you stared up at the rest of the Hargreeves family and an unfamiliar man.
"I know this is impossible, but," he spoke, "did we all get sexier?"
You let out a snort, leaning into him.
It was lovely to see all the reunions between the siblings, Klaus being his typical self and invading Vanya and Allison's hug, even pulling you in for a moment.
It was quite the weird family to join, but you were a part of it now.
"Klaus, is Ben here?"
"Oh, no. Unfortunately, ghosts can't time travel."
You let out a laugh, only imagining the reaction he got from Ben.
Definitely a weird family
