Okay, being kind to myself here...life just got heavy. I won't go too in depth with it, but life circumstances really kept me strained. I had to pull back from a lot of stuff, and admittedly, I think there's going to be some rough patches this year as well, but I'm feelin good enough to return. And believe me, I've been wanting to return for a long ass time. But once you feel the pressure of life weighing you down, it's kinda hard not to curl up and go into focus mode, y'know? Though, on the bright side of things...I started a new career! I've become a tattoo artist! It's wild to me that that's my calling, but it genuinely feels right. I am loving this journey to bits and pieces. And I've already done my very first tattoo on a client! My books opened recently and I'm happily keeping busy with that (along with a day job to supplement finances until I become stable with tattooing). I'm doing my best to live on my own terms, in my own way, so that no matter what I can be happy and at least proud that I'm in control of my life. Those of you who have followed me for a long time may know how I struggled with feeling in control and confident in my life. But I'm getting there, and I can say that I am proud of this version of Lenore--of who I am today. I'm not everything that I wish to be, but I know in time that I will be. There is so much gratitude in my heart for those of you who continued following me, tried reaching out, and for those who are new here. Y'all, I appreciate each and every one of ya. Please treat me with patience as I come back to the platform and still suck as replying to some DMs. I'm still a bit rusty and busy with life, but I am back, I am here, and I hope to be sticking around for a while yet.

I can’t do that; which is why I’m asking you to. #also: a bunch of tags are surprised this isn’t ‘shopped #it’s the lighting. backlit by the sun (which is diffused through the water) but also forelit artificially #the artificial light - a flash pack or something - casts a hard shadow under the creatures arm #which normally wouldn’t be possible if backlit by the SUN; you’d see a less-hard/more-fragmented shadow above water #as light sources ‘compete’ in a sense - and since there aren’t any light sources which can outshine the literal sun #it looks a bit weird when the darkest shadow is being cast from any other origin point - which is what’s essentially happening here #I don’t know the mechanics of how light travels through water; but I know the effect is substantial even with relatively short distances #also: it’s been balanced and color corrected by the author of the photo - who made deliberate choices to bring out the full potential #so it’s not like it’s a fresh and untouched export #but the kind of ‘tacked on’ appearance of the creature is a result of the lighting conditions within the image
