so I guess this isn't really relevant or interesting but I was thinking about the seals Inoichi got from Minato for his secret room and I was wondering how they survived the kyuubi attack? are the seals integrated in the walls themselves or on paper so Inoichi could/can put them up himself? and if they were integrated in the walls was the T&I building in a part of the village that was lucky and stayed untouched (or not attacked enough to be destroyed)?
Also did other friends of Minato and Kushina get seals, scrolls or something from them too like Inoichi?
(btw this is literally a showerthought I had the other day lmao😭😅 it's probably not that exciting to answer, I was just thinking of the people Minato and Kushina were friends with bc in canon Kushinas friendship with Mikoto was only mentioned in that oneflashback and it never mattered... like no one had anything to hold on too from them and so on [it's probably bc of how the story is told but it just bothers me that they were supposed to be so important/great when they lived but then were never mentioned at all]) Also did Hiromi know Kushina?
Hope you have a lovely day💜
Hey Sisdiss!
Don't worry, I'm happy to talk about anything in my fics etc ☺️ however I'll split the answer up because I don't want to just word vomit and not make any sense haha
1) Inoichi's Office: so the vault is actually a vault. Like a real vault, seperate from the bricks and plaster etc. Think:
Tumblr media
But obviously the size of an actual room. It's engraved, which is where Kushina was invaluable... I like to think of Minato as being the erratic paper nin because Jiraiya was such a hair-brained tutor whilst Kushina was taught in a more well rounded way, including fuinjutsu with different mediums, and she helped him engrave his special Kunai so that's how they started dating, IMO... Also I like the idea of Kushina in a forge with her chakra chains whilst Minato is like an obsessive bookworm haha
In my version of Konoha's village planning, T&I is in the same 'Quarter' as the hospital, which was untouched by the Kyuubi attack, so the building has remained intact the whole time. However, if T&I was destroyed, the vault would survive and be reinstalled in the new office. If Nagato levelled Konoha, Inoichi's vault would survive because Kushina is THAT good. Shisui's not wrong in thinking the vault is the safest place in Konoha, it's basically a nuclear bunker.
2) Kushina and Minato's friends: frankly - and I agree that it's mainly the fault of the way the series was written - these two ended up feeling like the kind of people that everyone has lovely things to say about... After they're gone. When they were alive, you could count their real friends on one hand. And there's a very good reason for this, tbh;
Kushina: she was, like, 10 when she came to Konoha and we know she struggled to adjust. She probably left a lot of her childhood friends behind, she was introduced to Mikoto through their parents, and she clashed with missing her own culture AND not adjusting instantly to Konoha's culture. Konoha is.... clique-y and Kushina was very boisterous about being proudly Uzushi AND Uzumaki. It's like going to killer-in-training school with a foreign princess who has made it clear she hates it here- oh wait, that's not a metaphor.
Adding in my HC that the Uzumaki are Matriarchal and the canonical fact that Konoha treats it's Kunoichi like SHIT, you're looking at Kushina not being very... Social butterfly. She's got Mikoto and that's it, at school. Outside of school, she definitely spends all of her time with Mito and family, and she spends a lot of time with the Fuinjutsu Guild... But there's distance there. Kushina has left home, where she's the Kage-equivalent's daughter (Mito's her great-aunt) BUT was surrounded by family + home... to a place where the social distance between average Konohan people and an 'Uzumaki Princess' isn't being respected but IS being respected by Uzushio-migrants etc. So Kushina is pissed because she's clashing with the Konohans BUT kept distanced from her own people except for, like, Mito, Tsunade, and Mikoto. Add in the turmoil of being a Jinchuuriki down the line and Kushina is known by everyone but close to very few.
Minato: he starts off as literally nobody. He's like a faceless kid in the BG of main character shots, the ones the artists do really quickly so he looks kinda trod on. He's an orphan and he has a last name... To a civilian clan that's completely cut off from him. He grows up in the orphanage and goes to the academy with nothing of his own. Minato is hollow-cheeked and dirty-fingernailed and Naruto is so, so, much like his father in more than just colouring, it's tragic. But Minato is a bookworm, he only has his brain to rely on, and he's got average chakra, no heritage to speak of.
So he studies, he claws himself upwards with a warm smile and a silenced voice. He's nobody, no friends in school, until they're old enough to be doing exams and suddenly he's the top of every class. No one knows who he is, craning their necks for the so-called Rookie of the Year- and Jiraiya is given a team, team seven with the usual Rookie who is a no named orphan. Jiraiya isn't built to be a teacher but Minato doesn't have a clan or family to complain about teaching methods and fairness. By the time he's built a life for himself, how is he going to make friends? He's friends with his colleagues. Inoichi, Shikaku, Chouza, he's tentative allies with Fugaku, he's done time in ANBU (he's fast, Jiraiya taught him fuinjutsu because that's what Jiraiya is willing to talk about, and he's useful but not irreplaceable... Of course Minato was ANBU) and he knows Sakumo, promises to tutor the war hero's son, gets an apprentice, starts making more and more waves...! Becomes Hokage, takes his guards under his wing because, well, he sees them more than most people and that's how you make friends, right?
It's lonely at the top but it's fucking lonely the whole way up there as well when you come from nothing and few see you until it's too late.
So... No, I don't think Kushina and Minato had a lot of friends 👀
3) Sealings presents: considering that ^^ unintentional rant (😅), the few people close to them both would have presents, I'm sure. Raidou inherited all of Minato's notes, Mikoto probably has almost all of Kushina's personal effects but 90% is sealed up for Naruto (fuck you, Sarutobi). I imagine that Mikoto's blades all have engravings for sharpness and strength and chakra conduction in them... Let's say that Shikaku's shogi board was also a gift from Minato, just a nice normal board 🤷 I haven't thought too much about it, tbf
4) did Hiromi know Kushina? Absolutely, Hiromi was the ANBU tattooist for decades before her husband popped off the mortal coil and she renovated his leather shop. She would've been prominent in the Guild, which is unfortunately on it's very last legs these days. It's literally dying of old age, the art is losing a lot of traction in Konoha (everyone wants a big exploding Jutsu, or they give up after learning a barrier seal... No one wants to devote three decades to an apprenticeship with half that time spent mixing ink or smelting fine silver trinkets or embroidery because that's not battlefield glory 🙄) Hiromi was one of Mito's 'inner circle', the first Uzushi who immigrated alongside her when she married Hashirama, so she would've known Kushina quite closely from her arrival.
Phew! Sorry for the rambling, hope this makes sense~
Have a great day too 💖

Fuinjutsu Theory - Hiraishin
Study of the Hiraishin and differences between Tobirama's and Minato's, with a bit of plot, ups!
-
"So what's the difference between the Nidaime Hokage's Hiraishin and your father's?"
The question took Akira by surprise, Han wasn't usually interested in hearing about him talking about Fuinjutsu, when Akira would have one of his bouts of inspiration that would lead him to sit for hours sometimes days to think and structure the new seal he had come up with, Han would usually find something else to do or just leave.
"Why do you ask?" He asked back curiously. Regardless of the answer he would still explain to him of the differences of the Hiraishin.
"The Hiraishin is the jutsu that killed more Iwa ninja during the last war, I want to know why your father's was more feared than the Nidaime Hokage's."
"You mean other than because my father used it more" He added, he couldn't help but wonder if maybe Han was just asking because Onoki had ordered him to do so to find out if there was a weakness. "Are you going to explain it or not. I thought you loved throwing up Fuinjutsu on people, you've done it to me enough times" Han grumbled and it was clear that this wasn't something he wanted to do but that his grandfather had ordered him to do it.
If Onoki wanted to know about the Hiraishin he could have asked Akira himself, he would have told him. Not that anyone in Iwa would be able to come close to the masterpiece that was the Hiraishin.
"I never said I wasn't going to tell you, I was just surprised by the question" He liked Han, was direct, something rare to find in most shinobi. But by some miracle of Kami most Iwa shinobi were direct and stubborn. So even if their villages were enemies he still liked to sneak into Tsuchi no Kuni to hang out with Han.
"To begin to explain the differences of the Hiraishin of the Nidaime and my father it is necessary to start with, what is Hiraishin?"
Han groaned at hearing that but didn't interrupt him, this explanation would be long and it was obvious Han would rather they were doing something else.
-The first thing: A prerequisite for the Hiraishin to work is that the user must be a sensor, I'm not talking about a simple sensor, but a high level one, otherwise the Hiraishin is impossible to perform.
-Now let's move on, the Hiraishin is a space-time Fuinjutsu. Which means that it is a seal that allows us to interact with the space around us in a certain way in a different space of time than would normally be necessary.
"Now explain it in a way that I understand" Akira gave Han a pout but continued explaining.
-All right, I'll give you an example: -Let's say I have to go somewhere. Let's say I start at A, go through B and arrive at C and it takes me one minute to go that way. A->B->C
Tumblr media
-But with the Hiraishin, if I already have a seal mark at point C that means I go from point A to C without passing through B and it takes less than 1 second. A->C.
Tumblr media
"Now that you understand that, because you do understand that, right?"
"I'm not stupid Akira, the problem is that when it comes to Fuinjutsu you speak in another language."
"No what happens is when I talk about Fuinjutsu I'm either talking to someone who knows what I'm talking about or I'm ignored, which is what you always do."
Han rolled his eyes. "Fuinjutsu is not the reason I hang out with you."
"I don't like you for your brains either. Now let me continue, you're the one who asked."
"Not because I wanted to."
"I know. Let's continue"
-Now that you know what a space-time seal is, it is time to explain the basis of the Hiraishin, the original seal of the Nidaime.
-What most people don't know is that the Hiraishin is not a single seal as many people think, but two. And these work through the Queen Bee system.
-The Queen Bee system is a sealing system under which the seals work as a team, in which a main seal that functions as the leader interacts and communicates with other secondary seals that obey the orders.
-Here let me draw it for you so that you can understand it better.
Tumblr media
-The main seal of the Hiraishin is placed on the user, while the secondary seals...
"They are put on the Kunai" Han guessed.
"Exactly, you're beginning to understand."
-The main seal indicates who should be transported and the secondary seals are by how many you indicate where they should be transported to.
But how does the seal know when to activate or which of the kunai to teleport the user to?
Akira laughed, it seems Han was getting into this, maybe there was still hope and he could get Han into the complicated but fascinating art of Fuinjutsu.
"That's a very good question and it's from here that the differences between the Hiraishin begin, remember I said it was necessary to be a sensor ninja?"
Han nodded.
-Well the first model of the Hiraishin the Nidaime’s worked through his sensory ability, the Nidaime was able to teleport to any of the kunai marked with his seal that was within his sensory range creating a path of chakra from him to the seal he wished to teleport to.
-However this had a couple of flaws to begin with his teleportation was very slow compared to my father's as he needed to create the chakra path beforehand and was limited to his sensory range making him unable to teleport to kunai that were outside of it.
-So the Nidaime's teleportation process can be summary on, choose which kunai with a seal he wanted to teleport to, create the chakra path to be connected and at the moment he is connected with the kunai is when the teleportation takes place.
Tumblr media
"And from what you're saying your father's Hiraishin consisted of improving on the existing one."
"Exactly, you seem to be starting to like this" He said mischievously, Han averted his gaze in embarrassment.
-Now let's talk about the improvements my father made, the first thing was to adapt the original formula so he would be able to use it since the previous one was customised for the Nidaime. From there he added the upgrades.
-My father tried to speed up the teleportation by speeding up the creation of the chakra path within his sensory range and after he did that, he decided it was still too slow, so he improved it again and improved it again.
-So, until he decided that it was still too slow, he threw that method away and decided to create a parallel pocket dimension that he could use so that he would always be connected to the secondary seals on the kunai.
Tumblr media
-And from there-
"WAIT WHAT, Akira come down to earth!" Han interrupted. "What the hell is a parallel pocket dimension!"
Akira looked with confusion at Han. "You know a space separated from our timeline and stabilized with fuinjutsu anchored with my mother's adamantine chains in the web of space-time."
"Oh, right now it all makes so much more sense" Han said sarcastically then his fist slammed into the ground creating cracks in it. "That shit you just made that up!"
"Just because Iwagakure's fuinjutsu can be summed up as “kunai puts on seal and seal absorbs kunai”, doesn't mean that fuinjutsu is so backward elsewhere. I remind you that Uzumaki were exterminated because our Fuinjutsu," said Akira with a threatening tone.
That silenced Han. Akira preferred not to bring up my clan was exterminated card, but sometimes it needed to be brought up and being accused of lying about fuinjutsu was one of those times. "Now let's move on."
-After creating that pocket dimension my father realised that he had to modify the Hiraishin's main seal so that during the brief moment he passed through that dimension he would not die when his body was forcibly removed from the timeline and returned to it in a few milliseconds.
-He could have been torn to pieces if he hadn't, after that all my father had to do was modify the main seal so he could be always connected to the secondary seals all the time no matter how many he made and he would never have a problem choosing which one to teleport to or when he wanted to teleport to.
-Along with that he had to modify the main seal again to be able to transport other people.
-That's not to mention that unlike the Nidaime my father wouldn't have to worry about how far away the seals were since the pocket dimension always existed meaning that distances didn't matter.
Tumblr media
"And that's how the Hiraishin works and what are the differences of it between the Nidaime's and my father's. What do you think?"
"You're insane. What kind of deranged Kami came up with the idea that it would be a good idea for people like your father or the Nidaime Hokage to exist, what do they throw into the water in Konoha?"
"Hey, that's offensive, I haven't even told you the extent of the Hiraishin's formula."
"The extent of the formula?" Han asked with a hint of fear.
"Yes, you know, the space taken up by the sealing formula written in full."
"I know I shouldn't ask but...how much is it?"
"Well," Akira put a hand to his chin. "The original Nidaime formula was placed on a large sized scroll meaning it's about three meters wide while the length of the scroll was about twelve hundred meters, which is three thousand six hundred m²"
"You're killing me" Han complained.
Akira continued as if he hadn't heard him. "Whereas my father's with all his upgrades and customization for him comes to about three thousand meters and it's set on a large scroll just like the original which means it takes up about nine thousand m²"
Akira looked at Han, now he had really finished the Hiraishin's explanation, he was curious what Han had to say. It was quite nice to have someone ask him about fuinjutsu and he always liked to share it, he usually only had Jiraiya to talk to about it so being able to share it with Han was great.
Han didn't respond in the way Akira expected, he had expected Han to react by complaining that this was absurd as before, instead he got up from where he was sitting and started to take off his armour.
Han's armor was heavy and complicated to remove, composed of separate plates and with his great height Han was as always a strange sight, completely unlike what ninjas were supposed to be.
"What are you doing?" he asked suspiciously.
"You've bombarded me with the most insanity I've ever heard in my life, I need to not think for the next six to nine hours" Han's chest armour and arms dropped to the floor.
"Oh!" He exclaimed knowing what Han wanted and mimicked him by taking off his clothes. "Then we are gonna fuck each other's brains out. I like that" He hoped Han would ask about Fuinjutsu again, maybe next time he would tell him about the improvements he had made to his version of Hiraishin.
"I'll start" And with that said Han dropped the kama from his armor.
-
I decided to take Han as the other character because the guy is the most overlooked jinchuriki and deserves more love luckily Akira is there for him. If anyone wants the explanation of the Hiraishin without the whole Han and Akira thing ask and I'll put it.
Which is your opinion?
I also made some memes.

If Sakura Haruno had her own summons, not something handed down to her like Katsuyu but actually reversed summoned herself, what Animal Summons do you think she would get?
or what animal summons would you like to see her have in a fanfic?

Swiggles Chapter 18 is Out!!
Summary:
He feels a sort of fulfilment that has nothing to do with the mysterious anger but everything to do with his own sense of self. Maybe learning the art of seals is his way of learning to be an Uzumaki.
Naruto tries to follow the path walked by his ancestors, to find his own identity. He makes bonds along the way, finds family in people who teach him the meaning of the word and falls in love with seals.
The world learns that an Uzumaki with a paper and ink is ten times more terrifying than a jinchuuriki with endless chakra. (Unfortunately for them, Naruto is both.)

Naruto Fics
I really like Naruto fics where Naruto learns fuinjutsu or he utilizes his experience at pranking to excel as a ninja whether via stealth, deception, or traps or honors his Uzumaki heritage.
I also like it when Hinata has a water element or becomes a medic-nin.

Me, after over a year of not being in the Naruto fandom: What if I write a short one shot, something where I don’t have to think too much, just to get used to the fandom again
Me, today: Let’s dissect every use of Fuuinjutsu in the show ever and try to understand the mechanics and how it works!

Hatake Hikari is trying to get home working on her experimental space-time seal, and finds herself in a new world, but familiar thanks to her friend Momo-chan from our own world.
I have no time to dedicate to my multi-chapter stories, but I found a doc I wrote last year and decided to edit and rework it so I could post something new. Part of a series of drabbles about an OC.
Hope some will enjoy it 😁

On the way back from Tea Country with Chakra-poisoned Kakashi tryna "casually" fish for some info before Sakura comes in with the one-hit KO on accident.
So she's got some complicated feelings for Kakashi as well, though they're a lot milder than what she feels about Sasuke.
There's a moment in my AU where Sakura goes through a deep reflection ritual, in which she has to face Inner Sakura -who is representative of all the ugly truths her day-to-day self hasn't been able to face- and come to terms with who she is.
During that time, she's got to face the music.
The music:
Sasuke is the last prodigal son of a clan that was brutally butchered. He's a genius with one of the most powerful dojutsu out there (that he has no idea how to use) and is coming in hot with more baggage than an airport terminal.
Naruto is not normal. She doesn't know what he is (as in-canon, she finds out after the time-skip and the Sakura from above is right on the cusp of Shippuden), but there's nothing normal about a kid who can pull wild orange chakra and who can fight Gaara's tailed beast and come out on top. He's got the personal attention of the Hokage, but the entire village has banded against him for some reason. He's special.
Kakashi is a war veteran turned Jounin and an infamous ANBU captain (I headcanon that some ANBU names are leaked specifically to generate a healthy level of fear/caution among other villages- which is why we know of Itachi/Kakashi/Shisui very publically) and is ALSO the last prodigal son of an old noble clan.
(No way a bookworm like Sakura didn't consume every publically available scroll on Konoha clans).
It doesn't take the big brains to figure out that he got team 7 specifically to help deal with Sasuke's trauma/teach him about the Sharingan, and put a leash on Naruto (and in the future, when she finds out that Madara was able to control the Kyuubi with the Sharingan as well as the knowledge that Kakashi was Minato's student it becomes even clearer why he got the Sasuke/Naruto combo.)
And Sakura? Sakura is a civilian. No clan, no dojutsu, nothing to her name except great chakra control. She's the literal meat in the meat-grinder of the military machine of Konoha, the acceptable sacrifice in a group of otherwise invaluable shinobi. She's just a...girl. (And it doesn't help that she was obsessed with Sasuke instead of training, furthering the gulf between her and Kakashi.)
Kakashi was absolutely not built to handle her- in fact, Kakashi has NO idea how to relate who hasn't gone through a mountain's worth of trauma or someone who hasn't been ingrained in the shinobi-as-a-tool lifestyle, and even then, he's not fully equipped to handle people who have (lmao Sasuke). Not to mention the man is a prodigy- he has no idea how to teach people who have to work hard to get somewhere in life. How do you teach someone if you've never had to 'work hard' to get there yourself?
So, Sakura understands that Kakashi was put in one of the most ridiculous situations of his career- a situation he had NO idea how to handle. She can forgive him for that. BUT, she can't forgive him for not trying his best.
Sakura spent a lot of time coming to terms with the fact that she rushed into the Chidori/Rasengan combo without a single idea of what she would do, but...Kakashi was a big reason for that.
She was HIS responsibility, and he fumbled that bag. Whatever his reasoning, whether it was to 'protect' her, or whether he thought she was worthless, whatever: he should have TRIED.
Kakashi was an adult with resources aplenty. He recognized that she had stellar chakra control but never bothered to teach her genjutsu or direct her to teachers who could pick up the slack.
And after the accident, he abandoned her again. Being forgotten in lieu of Sasuke and Naruto hurt...but she could heal. Being abandoned as some kind of martyr to Kakashi's failures as a teacher? It's gonna take a while for Kakashi to make that up to her...if he can muster the courage to face her.
Sakura finally understands why he preferred the memorial stone to the living. He already failed the dead, and it's easier to wallow in self-flagellation than it is to try and step up for the living.
Sakura stopped being a coward some time ago, and when Kakashi finally does the same, she'll forgive him.
Thank you so much for sticking with this wall of text! And thank you so much anon for the question! Once again, I really appreciate all the kind words people have been throwing my way. <3 <3 <3

wait okay i DID fall asleep days ago when i said i would post about this and then was too busy to Blog. but here are some points on the tori/minato au
it is time travel late game plasticity!tori. so just assume she can basically do anything she wants with fuinjutsu (with sufficient time/resources) but she's not a ninja. instead she's just in ame midway through the third shinobi war one day. which SUCKS-- ame is a fucking mess and tori is essentially homeless and no one knows her. so tori's first idea is that she'll LEAVE ame, get to the coast, and then take a boat somewhere with no war. unfortunately this is means crossing through active ninja war zones
the Mood for tori in this is: imagine her muddy and damp at all times. she is floundering around the elemental nations mainly by attaching herself to other civilian groups trying to relocate and, when necessary, scamming ninja. her ability to take down ninja is all over the place, but if she tricks you into making the wrong move, you WILL end up stuck in an unbreakable barrier or dying horribly and she will take your things.
and then the mood for minato is: he's like 19-20, so he's young and more reckless with less direction than i usually write him. he is only JUST now getting an international reputation for hiraishin related shenanigans. he feels dusty and overworked all the time, but also he currently has no strong ties to konoha as a physical place (jiraiya and his genin teammates are rarely there due to war, he and kushina are buddies but not dating, and he hasn't been assigned team 7 yet). so basically he's loyal to konoha but he's not like.... eager to get back or anything. he's fine fucking around in weird corners of the world during his down time. he is basically a Nice Guy but he has no problem with murder as the quickest and easier solution.
the meetcute:
tori is good at what she does but her scams/lies/manipulations obviously don't always work, and failing to trick a ninja can end with dire consequences. she has 'died' a couple times, been imprisoned and moved by ninja and civilian groups AWAY from her goals and had to escape, etc
she is currently having a Very Bad Time. she's been captured by ninja and they're actively harassing/humiliating her. she doesn't have an opportunity to DO anything bout this so she is quite upset
minato shows up and murders the ninja. this has nothing to do with tori's presence-- it's his mission to clear enemies in the area.
minato doesn't care THAT much about helping random civilians who aren't even fire country, but he IS very good and smiling prettily and asking people if they're okay.
he asks tori if she has a safe place to go. she lies and says yes bc she doesn't want to find out what happens if the fucking YELLOW FLASH talks to her for longer than necessary.
but also she is. she is very flustered. she's not used to being saved with no strings attached. he's handsome and being kind to her. she's SO upset
they part ways. tori stomps off into the woods and she's COLD and LOST ALL HER SUPPLIES because she ran away before she could LOOT THE CORPSES.
and! the worst part is!! she keeps having idle fantasies about if she HAD said she needed help and minato? helping her?? WHY WOULD HE HELP HER. how would he 'help' her. she bets it would feel good
she INTENTIONALLY gets herself recaptured while she knows he's in the area just to be saved again. except this time she's a small group of people and he gives the same exact speech and offers help to everyone? he does not seem to recognize her even though she keeps thinking about him? tori NOT special???
tori: okay so he's psychological torturing me tori: guess i should.... kill him....? tori: only if we ever meet again though. tori: which we probably won't
so while this interaction will haunt tori for months, minato mostly forgets about it immediately. however there ARE mounting rumors that SOMEONE has a fuinjutsu master running around. it's unclear which village is responsible for it. jiraiya's investigations indicate it's probably a wandering-nin because the things this person is doing make no SENSE from a 'village at war' perspective, because he's following around tori's wildly inconsistent path of destruction. jiraiya only even cares because a few times she's been forced to leave behind active seals, and they're? insane looking???
so the sequence of events that ends up happening is:
minato is in the same area as tori, because he's helping hunt down this mysterious fuinjutsu user. he ends up chasing a bunch of ninja out of a civilian village because it is, in fact, more convenient to him if civilians like him and let him use their resources. he gives them the same speech he always does about are they okay and everyone is safe now. one of the villagers, a young woman, approaches him and is like "hey can you help with this weird ninja technique down by the river, it's killing the fish?" and minato is like "yeah sure" and he follows her down the river and voila! one of the weird seals he's looking for!
and then? somehow?? he ends up IN the river AND the river is fucking BOILING. he gets out because he can fucking teleport, but he hasn't been spamming his hiraishin as much as he will in the future and he ends up having to teleport pretty far away. he's decently injured because BOILING so he seeks medical attention and doesn't go back for a few days. but when he DOES the girl is gone and the villagers are like "oh yeah we have no idea who that was"
tori: hi sorry, you seem to have not noticed i'm the main character. die horribly, i guess
minato: i think the renegade fuinjutsu user is..... a random civilian? jiraiya: proposterous jiraiya: that makes no sense all of konoha leadership: nope, sounds wrong
so now it's minato's personal mission to refind tori, despite konoha leadership's orders to drop it, because he's 100% sure SHE is the mysterious fuinjutsu user. i don't think it would actually take him that long because he is a highly competent ninja and tori is tricksy but she's also... a walking disaster. (basically, she's good at getting herself out of immediate problems, but she's bad at long-term problems, so she does things like "flee before hiding evidence of insane fuinjutsu" and "gives her name as Cup Noodles to more than one person")
meanwhile, tori is wandering around backwater hot water country like, "i did it. i fixed my feelings on the yellow flash. u_u" and he shows up again like "hello!!!" and she's like "NO FUCK"
the problems minato immediately runs into are:
he doesn't actually have specific orders on what to DO about tori, on account of konoha thinking she has to be some sort of bad ass ninja. the game plan for the mysterious fuinjutsu master is basically just "identify and then report back" and he already did that
he COULD just drag her in and sit her down with a yamanaka, and then probably jiraiya would be like "huh, good work, kid" and he would get another accolade for excellent service he doesn't care about. but, consider: he wants to know WTF is up with her, how her seals work, and also how is she doing them if she's not a ninja
he figures out pretty quickly that they HAVE met before, twice, and she targeted him specifically to try and boil him alive. he's had ninja fixate on him before but.... the disconnect between tori's perceived threat and how close she got to boiling him alive is absurd
he's
he's kind of into it?
so the mood then is: tori is being casually stalked by the yellow flash because he just thinks she's neat. she's wildly conflicted about this because she enjoys his attention way too much, but also, she hates how he makes her feel. she hates that her life is 90% being uncomfortable and terrified of being randomly murdered, and she HATES how minato being around makes all of that go away. she hates that she likes fucking around with fuinjutsu with him. she starts doing stuff that will self-sabotage her own quest to LEAVE THE CONTINENT just to get his attention.
the get-together:
tori gets herself into hot water that makes her go "oh, hmm, i may have fucked up for good this time"
current scenario i'm imagining (some rotating needed): iwa is ALSO onto Insane Rando Fuinjutsu User running around, and they end up grabbing tori and moving her into like. an actual field prison for ninja, in a major iwa camp in one of the smaller countries. the rumor among the other captives (mostly konoha ninja) is that they'll be moved to iwa proper eventually, and tori is.... pretty sure she's actually fucked forever if she ends up in iwa
but! she has other prisoners! who are ninja! and she's like: "look, despite knowing i can do fuinjutsu, they don't seem to have the slightest idea HOW i've been doing it, because i can still make a blood seal whenever" and she gets to be an integral part of an escape plan!
but she gets left behind/immediately recaptured because no one ACTUALLY cares about her and helping her >:(
i might change this but ONE concept i have for how this pans out is that hiruzen's non-asuma child (konohamaru's parent) is one of the captives. so it's a VERY politically important captive who isn't necessarily very badass by themselves. so the mood is like "this person needs to be rescued, but they're not like some A-tier person who can rescue themselves," which is why minato himself gets sent in
tori, while she's being smacked around by iwa leadership for being a part of the escape attempt that lost them their most valuable captive, realizes that she did actually fuck up in attempting to escape, because she HAD a shot at Konoha rescuing her if she stuck with the other captives, but now those captives are free, and no one is coming for her
MEANWHILE, minato has connected witht he escaped konoha-nin and pieced together that tori was with them but they left her behind
minato: oh minato: BRB
and i've decided in THIS au, THIS is minato's "kills 1000+ Iwa-nin in one shot" moment
so he shows up, covered in blood, kills the guy who's been torturing her, and is like "tori, are you okay?" and it's his speech he gives everyone except he's not using his pretty smile she now KNOWS is fake and he's tenderly wiping blood off her face
and tori is just. SO fucking weak to this. you became the most lethal ninja in history? for h e r?! 🥺🥺🥺
and then they make out 😌
i'm not sure how the rest of the story goes. i think minato's preferred way forward would be for tori to go into konoha's employment, but i don't think she'd like that. but also she suddenly is less interested in leaving the continent so now she maybe has to fix some things?
tori: oh you have a genin team now? um unrelated but there is a cave near kannabi bridge with an old man you must kill minato: wh minato: why do you sound like like a wizard giving me a quest minato, a month later, finding Uchiha Madara in a cave: minato: minato: TORI WHAT THE FUCK
but anyway after that when she's like "we have to find a plant guy and kill him too" then minato is 100% on board because she is. some sort of witch?
also she lets him draws a hiraishin marker on her For Safety and he's weirdly horny about it

So I don't know if it was a blow of inspiration or that maybe he should be declared clinically insane.
But I took a look at the Hiraishin and I thought, what if I created an explanation accompanied by diagrams that explains its operation and the differences between Tobirama's and Minato's Hiraishin and in this way enrich the Fuinjutsu at the same time that I make it super complicated because I hate and I like to complicate my life.
Ok, I'll post it tomorrow.

imagine minato and even kushina being a mentor to tenten if both were alive. that would have been really cool not to mention tenten will even have more knowledge and further enhance her skills in fuinjutsu and space-time ninjutsu.
anon. anon are you in my WIP folder? anon no! get out of there it’s dangerous!
I literally have a WIP of kushina and minato being mentors to Tenten and her being an older sister to Naruto!! I think her being Kushina's student especially is so fucking cool and I would have LOVED to see their interactions in an AU because imagine all the cool fuinjutsu she could have learned?? Tenten-Hiraishin would be REAL and I would be happy.
Plus Kushina would absolutely adopt all of Naruto's friends, and it would take her one look at Team Gai before she declares they're all her kids, and yes that includes you too Gai, get in here.
also have the tiny snippet ive written:
Tenten’s ink brush moves across the scroll, her hands less steady than she would like. Her heart pounds in her throat and her hands quickly grow damp. At this point, she’s barely focusing on the seal in front of her, more occupied with the presence looming over her like a god passing judgment. “You’re not focusing, Tenten-chan,” comes the admonishment, gentler than she had expected. “I’m sorry, Uzumaki-san.” “Kushina-sensei is fine.” She grins down at Tenten, and for a moment, Tenten is struck by just how much Naruto takes after his mother. “Just make sure you keep focused. We can’t move on until you learn the basics of elemental sealing.” “Sorry, Kushina-sensei.” She ducks, feeling her ears burn. Picking up her brush once more, she tries to concentrate on the seal in front of her and fails miserably, hyper-aware of Kushina’s intense gaze. “Relax, Tenten-chan.” Kushina sits in the chair next to Tenten’s and tilts her head to look at her scroll, blazing red hair identical to Naruto’s falling over her shoulder. “We’re not all that intimidating, are we?” “N-no,” she lies. Kushina’s bright laughter brings the Hokage into the living room, a warm smile on his face. “Ah, Tenten-chan, how’s that seal going?” His eyebrows knit. “I wonder if we started you off with something too complex.” Tenten feels her heart skip a beat and fights the urge to leap out of her chair. “No, no! I can handle it, I promise!” She gestures at her scroll. “I’m nearly done, I just need to finish the stabilizing ring and it’ll be set to test!” “Don’t worry about her, Minato, I’ve been watching her the entire time.” She shares a look with her husband. “She’s got a real knack for fuinjutsu." "I suspected as much when Naruto told me about a girl who fought with scrolls of storage seals." He takes a seat at the table next to his wife. "I remember seeing reports of you fight at the chunin exams. I couldn't believe that you were self-taught, with those complex seals. It's been a while since we've seen anyone in Konoha with this much potential for fuinjutsu." Kushina nods. "With the right training you could become like the old masters of Uzushiogakure." Tenten's brush clatters to the table as Kushina leans forward and clasps Tenten's hands in hers. "We're excited to teach you, Tenten-chan!"
