Not sure what key terms to look up to find this one so I'd figured I'd talk to a professional to help me find this.

There's this one post that shows a safe with a bunch of the keys degraded. The joke is that it's obvious what the passcode is.

Then, people start discussing how you don't actually know since there's still plenty of combinations of the 4 keys deteriorated. People go full deduction mode, BBC Sherlock references galore (this post is from 2013-2015ish era tumblr iirc), until someone finally points out the safe is already open (they get called a John Watson).

I have been thinking about this post for the last 2 months. I miss her. Please bring her home <3

trackin' this one down proved to be difficult. see, i went and found the post rather quickly by askin' my pal Google for "tumblr keypad combination post." i started checkin' blogs, but all of them were comin' up as deactivated. eventually, i found one that existed and started scrollin' through the archive. after a while of scrollin' i realized something. their blog was made AFTER the post had been made. so, back to the drawin' board. i kept checkin' blogs until i FINALLY found the post i was lookin' for. but i needed the version with only the original thread of reblogs. something that would be hard with almost all of the blogs deleted. so, i was scrollin' through the notes when i realized i didn't have to do any of this. the post had already been reblogged to @hellsite-hall-of-fame. in classic fashion for this post, all the effort was "great and all, but unnecessary."

RESTAGED TOUR STAR PRINCESS FOOTWEAR GALORE

ROW 1: First UK look was white satin shoes with rosetta. For the premiere in 2012 they were worn with thick black stockings, but the stockings didn't last long. However, the shoes were kept for some time. This was worn by Katie Hall and (I assume) Olivia Brereton and Leigh Coggins, and they wore them with fairly standard UK costumes.

ROW 2: Revamped look in the UK was pink satin shoes with high heel and pointed toe. These were worn both with the standard UK costume and the stripped-down version they introduced during the run. These pink shoes were also worn by Julia Udine when the tour opened in the US in 2013.

ROW 3: New pink shoes introduced early in the US tour, with a tounder toe, a T-strap covered by an organza (?) tongue and brooch, and with a slight gold paint patina. I think they were introduced around the time Katie Travis became principal in 2014, and they were worn by most if not all US tour Christines up until the closing in 2020.

ROW 4: A closer look at the new pink US shoes.

ROW 5: The new pink US shoes worn with very different costumes; a vintage Las Vegas one, and the new stripped-down style. I would claim it was a better match to the latter.

ROW 6: Lo and behold! Boots! These were introduced as the tour opened in Australia in 2022 and the costumes got a revision. The boots had various grade of blue ombre outlined with silver, and with pink lacing. These were worn by Amy Manford, Bridget Costello, Kayleigh Marven and presumably Claire Lyon, and they wore a pimped up version of the stripped-down costume.

ROW 7: Alas the boots didn't make it into the Austrian premiere. Here a fifth look was introduced: Heeled pink strap shoes with pink "jewelled" rosetta or buckle. These were worn by Lisanne Veeneman at the opening in March 2024, and I assume it is what the other Christines will wear as well. The costume looks fairly similar to the Aussie ones.

‘Rosy Blog Chic’ Makes it’s comeback for Spring

What is Rosy Blog Chic? Take a deep dive to 2013-2014 with me, the era of Instagram filters (No, not the face ones-- the original presets on the editing tool) Ariana Grande’s Yours Truly album and its impact on fashion at the time, and OG tumblr core. As Spring rolls around, I feel myself reaching for the same pins on pinterest that I did back on Weheartit in 2014... and I’m ready to bring it all back. 

The year is 2013, and you are sat in your bedroom watching Zoella on Youtube and painting your nails in a DIY manicure. Something about this era screams early girlhood, having fun and not caring if something is perfect, as long as it looks pretty. At the time, tumblr and Weheartit was alive with ‘rosy blogs’, and if you search hard enough-- the graveyards of abandoned blogs still remain untouched, like a time capsule of such treasured years, reaching its peak at 2014. 

Where did the name ‘rosy blog’ come from?

No one knows. After many google searches, and coming up with nothing -- I can only assume it was coined from the huge insurgence in ‘rose gold’ at it’s time, florals and roses being featured in lots of rosy blog posts, and the ‘rosy’ warm, pinky filter that was laid over all the images to give it that classic look it was known for. These days, the aesthetic is more popularly claimed as ‘girly 2014 aesthetic’, ‘yours truly era’ or simply ‘2014 core’. As a long time girly girl, I am truly advocating to bring this style back. Here’s how. 

FLORALS, FLORALS, FLORALS. 

Taking a step back into this era, what better time to incorporate floral prints into your wardrobe that spring? Ditzy print, crowded florals on dresses and skirts and sunflower crop tops (Think old American Apparel) are the perfect ways to incorporate a Rosy chic back into your wardrobe. It’s girly, and can be worn super casually as these are not items that technically ever went out of fashion or became played out. 

DOT, DOT, DOT...

Undeniably, polka dot was huge in this era. Something about it can be so youthful, whilst also carrying this timeless chic that is vaguely reminiscent of the 50′s/60′s (See Audrey Hepburn, or kitschy housewife aesthetic) A simple black and white will totally do the trick maybe with pearl accessories or ribbon embellishments but a pink and white polkadot is super adorable too! 

WHAT BRANDS?

When looking back at the fashion of this era, a few brands stick out to me as being staples of their time. Thanks to early Ariana Grande, Wildfox became hugely popular-- especially in their knit pull overs, sweaters, and sunglasses. They were often pastel colours, donning some kind of cute cartoon print over the top such as a rainbow, or hearts. Another big brand that took over this time period would be American Apparel, and a quick search into ‘vintage American Apparel’ or selling sites would lead you exactly to what you need, the same goes for Vintage Victoria’s Secret PINK items -- however you might find some luck in their current resurgence of ‘Originals’ now being sold on the website. I recently copped some OG fold over leggings! For more girly, era relevant brands-- look into H&M, Brandy Melville, vintage Topshop, Hollister and Abercrombie for that classic girly girl look. Or, dig back into your closet and see if you kept anything from this era!

COLLAGE AND PIC EDITING GALORE

To truly encapsulate the way this era unfolded, try your hand at taking cute pictures and laying an warm-vanilla toned filter preset over the top. In this era, people would take pictures of just about anything cutesy-- think your cute tea mug, a girly phone case, your strawberries and nutella mid day snack, this could even consist of whatever show you’re watching on Netflix photographed on your laptop on some sweet bed covers -- the perfect hobby for a lazy day! If you want to take it that step further, collate these pictures into a bordered collage to really push that early-years-instagram aesthetic. 

SO...WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? 

To begin with outfits, there are a few staples I would look out for. When thinking Rosy Blog Chic, what springs to mind instantly is a bralet / crop top paired with a skater skirt. At first glance, this sounds totally out dated-- but to me, there is something so timeless about these kind of looks. This will be perfect as the weather warms up, but whilst its still cold, you can always pair it with a chunky knit cardigan and tights-- also staples of its time. Pumps, mary-janes, brogues and flats are all appropriate shoe choices for this look. 

Another casual look that is less strictly 2014 would be an off the shoulder sweater, leggings / yoga pants, and a pair of ugg boots. This is more appropriate for colder days and definitely will give you an old school Victorias Secret model off duty look. 

A common theme in this era of online photo’s was pyjamas! Again, perfect for a lazy day-- the girl behind the camera was often seen to be donning full length or shorts and a tshirt sleepwear in cute prints and colours. Whether it be VS classic stripes, polkadot/animal print, vintage Disney movie print, florals,  it doesn’t matter as long as it’s cute. 

To accessorize, bows were a huge deal. Whether its clipped to your pony, worn on your handbag or simply just there for decorating, oversized bows were one of the first trends Ariana Grande brought to the internet. The accessory portion of Rosy Blog Chic seemed to take a more classic, timeless and girly route that can often be seen in modern Coquette fashion today-- meaning ribbons, pearls, and lace to up the girly factor by 10. 

Try your hand at home made manicures if you are currently giving your nails a rest from Acrylics or gels! Essie nail polish was at its peak during this era, as everyone seemed to be rocking natural length pale pink nails! I love long nails, and they were still super popular-- this is just for those who want to give their nails a rest.

5. Makes them risk the plague (Gia Marie quarantining with Sam in Hawaii at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic).

Makes them accept friendship from a disgruntled-would-be-Sam-date, yet still take him up on an offer of a weekend in Germany together, despite said disgruntled-would-be-Sam-date continuously bashing Sam (Georgia Ellenwood and Monica Aksamit). Georgia's like "Monica gurrrl, yeah, I hear ya, that sucks what happened with Sam, but look the other way when I spend the weekend with him in Germany, mkay...cause there's no resisting all that golden delicious Scottishness when it comes a-calling," and many, many other examples.

Women don't risk all this shit for small dick or a bad lover. They just don't. Simple as that.

zombie sugarbaby roll call!

I wonder who's still on tumblr from the old sugar bowl?

Much like the rest of the world, the glory days of 2010-2015 are long gone, and oh do I miss them.

Everything was great: tumblr and Instagram were fire for the sugar bowl, and the bowl itself was insane due to the economy thriving. Truly, these were the glory days.

When I logged back in earlier, I saw a blog post from 2013 from Southern Sugar — we were the same age that year. It's over 10 years later. I wonder where she is now? Is she married and a trophy wife? Still yacht hopping like me?

And when I looked at my page, my last post were my New Year's Resolutions for 2018! How quick 6 years went by...

That's the beauty of the internet: it's a closed system, perfectly preserving it's contents for all of time... until the original poster decides to give up on sugaring all together and deletes the Encyclopedia Thottanica (*pouts at sugarbabytemptress*)

Here's the update:

2018 went as planned, as did 2019. Not as planned but very profitable were 2020 and 2021. I made bank, saved tons of money, collected tons of Cartier, 3 Rolex watches and even got a brand new luxury car bought in my name.

I was living the high life...

I got lingerie and jewelry aplenty! Vacations and spa days galore! You want Louboutins?? I've got 20! No big deal, well who cares, I waaant moooore 🎶

What's funny is that eventually the high wears off and becomes a monotonous routine. That was 2022 and 2023 with my SDBF. So boring, can't believed that I've been locked down and in this relationship for 5 years. No wonder I'm bored and feeling restless. And you know what they say... no ring on the finger, must not linger 💍

So I'm slipping back in the bowl!

What I think the Ghosts (TM) would wear to a Halloween Party if they were alive and in some sort of modern AU. Because they’re dorks and would totally throw a costume party.

Pat: Goose from Top Gun. It’s very clearly homemade and he’s very clearly proud of it. He looked around for all the parts for weeks. He spends the entire night quoting the movie to people. He also made a mini Maverick costume for Daley and is printing photos of them together for his scrapbook. Usually, he goes for more traditional spooky costumes if he can help it. But this time he couldn’t resist the idea of going as his favorite character.

Captain: His work uniform. He refuses to go out in public without looking somewhat professional and Halloween is no different. Nobody has seen him without a tie on and people are wondering if it’s permanently attached.

Robin: He doesn’t wear one because he kinda forgot Halloween was a thing until someone gave him the address to the place. He does, however, wear a very appropriate T-shirt for the occasion. Either one of those “This is my Halloween Costume” ones or some kinda shirt with a slasher on it.

Humphrey: Whatever was left in the bargain bin at the shop. He also forgot it was Halloween, but he doesn’t want to show up without being dressed up. So he scrambles around town piecing something together at the very last minute. He does this every year and what he goes as is anyone’s guess.

Mary: She apparently is a master at making herself look as much like a murder victim as possible. Fake blood and guts galore. Every year she shows off her insane makeup skills and freaks people out at the market while she buys refreshers for the party.

Julian: either a sexy version of some conservative politician or one of those spoof costumes like an inflatable breathalyzer. He thinks this is the funniest costume ever and Robin agrees.

Kitty: She goes as one of those cute couples costumes but forgot to ask anyone to match with her so she’s just one half of a joke. She spends the whole night saying that she’s “Jelly of course! Like peanut butter and jelly 😊” and when someone asks her where’s the peanut butter she just toddles away.

Thomas: He goes as the love interest in some obscure indie film from 2013 and is so upset that nobody gets who he is, but he’s also weirdly giddy that nobody ‘truly understands’ his mind. (It’s literally just normal clothes but he spent a lot of money to make it movie accurate)

Fanny: She refuses to dress up and is very adamant about how she doesn’t like Halloween or any of this modern commercialized tripe. Yet every year she shows up to the party, and every year she gets really into it. The most you’ll ever get out of her costume-wise is a silly hat after a lot of back and forth.

Alison and Mike: They usually match every year. Nothing too fancy, but something cute and simple to keep up with the theme. Just your usual zombies, ghosts, ghouls, and what have you. Though, once in a blue moon Mike gets that special glint in his eye and tries to pull off something really elaborate. It usually blows up in both Alison and Mike’s faces and it doesn’t turn out quite right, but they have fun and that’s what matters.

as the anon that asked for the race list: thank you!

now this is totally up to you if you have the time to spend on this, but this is my first year watching the races, and while I've been doing some background research to get up to speed, there is still a lot i don't know. i trust your judgment so what are some races and/or f1 adjacent things i should look into? i'm going through your McLaren list and have watched the last 4 seasons of dts and the brawn documentary. are there any other books/ documentaries/ races (especially seb's) / old youtube videos that are lost in the void that i should also check out?

i completely get how daunting it can be as a new fan in the sport. when i was getting back into f1 it also took me some time to get back up to speed with everything, especially all the techy stuff; i honestly learned the most through just watching the races (old and new), bc you get to see all the strategies play out, the pit-stops, the overtakes etc. and the terminology just becomes much easier to understand through sheer exposure. there are also some really cool f1 data analysis blogs you might want to follow on twt/x if you want some more detailed tech analysis and graphs if you’re into that sort of thing: (x)

as for seb, oh there’s a whole arsenal of recs i have!

monza 2008, rise of torro rosso wunderkind; i presume you already know the lore with that one but ig you can never get tired of it.

abu dhabi 2010, world championship no.1 “du bist weltmeister!”

interlagos 2012, the infamous one. this one’s a rollercoaster, chaos everywhere and the manifestation of murphy’s law: anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. amidst a title battle against nando, seb was fighting the weather, bruno senna’s front wing, a damaged side-pod, no radio, and somehow managed to claim p6 to win the championship

malaysia 2013, multi-21 (iconique), he was faster, deal with it. 💅

singapore 2013, domination masterclass from quali to the race. (also just all of his singapore wins...lion of singapore and all that)

india 2013, title no.3 secured, changed tyres on lap 2 and came out p17, was third by only lap 13 and then won the race by nearly 30 seconds. it was also his sixth win in a row. he went on to win three more. speaks for itself. also this:

malaysia 2015, first win with ferrari, can't forget that one, also features sewis’ gay knee-touching on the podium.

germany 2019, CHAOS, in which merc got bewitched by the special livery curse 😅, with crashes, spins, 50-second long pit stops, and also features one of seb’s best drives from p20 -> p2

i also highly recommend watching Floz's fan-made docus on youtube about 'the silver war' (there are also docus for the 2014 and 2015 seasons) as well as the merc v ferrari (lewis vs seb) 2017 fight and 'fight for five' in 2018, they're so much better than dts and actually give a full run-down of what happened during the season, with all the action on-track, with interviews and providing all the context! it's so well-edited as well (you literally feel like you're watching a movie about all of the seasons) and they are just incredibly fun to watch.

in general, i love rewatching races from 2017/18 (literally my comfort seasons), personal favs include spain 2017 (strategy galore and lewis v seb), baku 2017 (for obv reasons), austin 2017; and basically the 2018 season in its entirety...

as for books, there are many driver autobiographies e.g. jb (he’s even got two lmao), mark webbah etc. but i think the best f1 book out there is adrian newey’s memoir ‘how to build a car’ if you want lore + great insight into cars!

i’d also recommend watching some older races (i could do a separate post on which ones are my personal favs) but it’s all up to you in the end! go digging, look around on yt for some highlights and just keep exploring! 🫶💜
