Crash! The wooden chair you once sat on flew straight into a wall and shattered. "Calm down my lo-"

"Don't finish that statement Lyney', You interrupt. Your heavy breathing and hardened eyes sparked only regret in the young man. You could feel your ears burning already.

"It wasn't like that', Lyney tried to explain. Lynette could only stay quiet as she watched the scene unfold. She believed it was her fault. In a sense, it was. "So when were you planning to tell me I was just one of your many women, Lyney. After I'd given you all of me or after you'd moved on to your next victim?"

"You're not like them! I love you I would never-"

"Save it, I've heard enough of your lies", you mutter walking away from him. You couldn't believe him. You couldn't listen to your feelings either. "I'm glad that my brother has found someone he likes. I'm tired of seeing him bring multiple women into our home", you could hear Lynette's voice clearly in your head, yet you could only focus on the other part of her statement. You knew that Lyney was flirtatious but a playboy? That you couldn't deal with. You'd made the mistake before. Your heart still bore the scar.

"Please love can we just talk about it?", he asks but you ignore him. You wanted him to shut up and leave as quickly as possible. What would he do after apologizing, Go back to his other women?

"Please sis, Lyney has changed, I didn't say it to get you upset", Lynette pleads and yet your rage doesn't quell. You wouldn't believe her words even if they were true! The thought of him treating many other women the way he treated you made your blood boil. "Are you seeing others now?", You ask not meeting his gaze. "N-no, I cut everyone off as soon as things got serious between us, love", he explains but you don't react.

You're stoic. He hates it. He hates when you get like this. He can no longer read your mind when you're this way. Your poker face had always intrigued him and yet now...it was being used against him. "Love please, I've put that behind me, I only want you. You alone", He pleaded. He was getting more and more desperate. You both knew it. You were hardly the type to believe people could change. Much less playboys. It was something that would always remain in a person. They could only suppress the urges, soon enough they would spring out and stab your heart.

"Lyney, I think we should end this."

"What? Love they are in the past! I only love you! Why can't you see that? Why can't you see I'd drop them and choose you in a heartbeat? I already have!", He says holding onto your arm. His smile was gone, all that you could see was the sadness in his eyes. "Let me go Lyney", You say. You didn't want to yell anymore, you were done.

"I'd rather die"

"Then do", you say as you yank your hand back glaring at him shortly before leaving. "Goodbye Lyney", You say leaving their home with a heavy chest. It had to be done, you couldn't repeat your past mistakes. Not now, not ever.

you were staring at scaramouche from across the room. laying your head in your arms on the desk as you sigh in boredom.

"scara, are you done yet?" you had been here for almost an hour or two. of course you did want to spend time with him but waiting any longer was bound to drive you insane.

"i'm not done, if you're just going to annoy me then go outside." he already looked irritated from the work load and it seemed like you pissed him off even more.

you lift your head off the desk, looking at him one more time before leaving the room. you were already used to his attitude so it didn't offend you much, but now you didn't really know what to do.

"y/n? is scaramouche done with his work already?" you heard a voice startling you as you looked up to meet his eyes.

it was childe, smiling at you in a way you couldn't really understand. "no, he's not done i um, i kind of got kicked out.." you laugh under your breathe as he starts to snicker.

"oh my, there he goes being all annoyed again." he states, referring to no other than scaramouche. "well, if that's the case, mind coming with me to the wine industry?"

"no i don't mind, i was wondering what to do anyways."

"great." childe smiles as he reaches his hand out as you would before you partake in a ball room dance. "may i have the honor of escorting you?"

you laugh as you take his hand, "yes you may."

after a few days of you follow childe around, it became evident to scaramouche that he was getting more of your attention than him.

he watched as you two laughed, eating ice cream as he huffs, that should be him, not childe.

you thought about scaramouche a lot, pondering on whether or not to invite him on dates, but discarding the thought not wanting to annoy him any further.

although it pissed him off seeing childe so close to you, he just stood there, glaring at childe as he didn't know if he was supposed to approach you or not.

however, the opportunity presented itself when he saw childe extending his hand to your face, wiping off the icecream that had smeared across your lips.

he was beyond mad, frustratingly walking towards the two as he yanked your arm towards him. startling you and making you look at him in surprise.

"if you're going to annoy someone, i'd rather it be me." you saw the annoyed look on his face as he seemed to express how irritated he was, but all you saw on his face was a big pout.

"are you jealous?"

you asked him, not thinking much about how straightforward you were with it. but after seeing his flustered expression and how surprised he looked, you wanted to tease him more.

"aww you are jealous aren't you. how cute." you smiled as you patted his head.

"shut up." he managed to mutter as he was extremely embarrassed, taking your hand and dragging you away.

you wave at childe as he smiles back, 'how cute those two are.' he thought, a little envious of the relationship you two had which he wished he could share with another.

you stared at scaramouches back as he dragged you away, knowing he was looking away from you to hide his red face. it made you smile brightly, blushing madly as well as you laughed a little. oh how much you loved this stupid boy.

It’s the same dream over and over again….

The dream felt so real, so vivid as if you were there too.

It was dark and raining. Thunder struck continuously as it rains harder. You saw yourself laying down bleeding in the grass as someone with an umbrella was looking down at you. It was like you were seeing how you died.

You always have dreams that became real like when you predicted that your father had died in a drive-by. You tried to stop your dad from going to work and telling him about your dream but it was too late. A criminal escaped the trial and your dad being a milelith was killed trying to stop him. You thought that the dreams you were having were nothing.

You thought you were the only one who had these dreams.

A fatui harbinger who came to Liyue seemed to be having dreams too. An electro vision wielder had dreams of a (h/l) (h/c) girl bleeding on the ground. He could hear her talking.

‘Please save me.’

‘I don’t want to die.’

‘’This is all your fault.’

Scaramouche woke up sweating. Never in his life has he felt so scared. So many questions were flooding in his mind. Scaramouche sat up from his bed and looked out the window.

Pairing: scaramouche/wanderer x reader

Warning:Angst

A/n: I finally get to write for scara after a lot of postponing. Hope you all enjoy it! If you like it enough there may be a part 2.

You rush through the halls of the Sanctuary of Surasthana. You storm up to Lumine, Paimon and Nahida. They could almost see the vein popping on your forehead. Your eyes were narrowed making them uneasy. In front of you is a frail yet healthy Scamouche. He was unharmed mostly. "Scara, I heard you were helping out in Sumeru. Are you harmed?", You ask frantically searching him before allowing your hand to rest on his face. "Who is scara?", He asks you slowly removing himself from your embrace. You could feel your heart crack! "What do you mean who's Scara?", You asked him slowly and yet his expression doesn't change. Your eyes dart to the traveller and then to Nahida.

You weren't enemies and fairly spoke but in the moment you would love to shatter the cordiality between you two. "Explain", You command curtly as Lumine struggled to give you a clear answer. You essentially got the message. "So you're telling m that Scara has no idea who I am?", You ask allowing your eyes to trail back to him who simply stared back at you curiously. "I can only imagine what it is like for you", Nahida sympathises only further making your chest tighten. Your boyfriend of the last couple of years had no recollection of who you were.

"I'm sorry to put you in distress miss", He says making your eyes widen. He really wasn't the Scara you knew. He would never apologize for anything this easily. Even in the worst of your fights! "It's alright", You manage to spit out. It really wasn't. You could feel your eyes burn but you didn't want to burden him, especially in this situation. "We are working on a way for him to recall his memories, if that works then things should be back to normal for the both of you", Nahida comforted.

"But, I am surprised how you remember him, almost everyone in existence forgot who he was, even Nahida!", Paimon states only making your eyes widen. "What?", You ask. How did you remember? You also weren't sure. "He changed the course of history meaning that you and him may never have met in this lifetime and yet you remember him", Paimon explained making your mind fill up with one question after the other. "I conclude that the bond between you and him was so strong that it prevented you from forgetting or that he excluded you from the wipe", Nahida reasoned. Frankly, you didn't care much for the explanation. You just wanted him to stop staring at you with a blank stare. You wanted your loving boyfriend with a tough exterior. You wanted your brat back.

"We'll figure that out when he's back. Please Nahida, just bring him back", You plead allowing your voice to crack. Only then did they know how deeply this had hurt you. To have the one who whispered sweet nothings into your ears see you as nothing but a stranger. "We will. Rest Assured", Nahida says as she, Scaramouche and the traveller begin their operations. You sit on the ground silently cursing yourself. You shouldn't have listened when he asked you to wait in Snezhnaya. You should have pleaded to go with him even after your fight. "All you're doing is holding me back! You will wait here!", You could still recall his statements very clearly. You didn't exactly remember why you two were screaming at each other but by the time you woke up, he was already on a boat to Inazuma.

The warm tears finally seeped through and your vision was blurred.

After a couple of moments, you hear them chatter once more. "Who the fuck is that?", You hear Scaramouche ask. His terrible attitude was back, you could recognize it anywhere. You raise your head allowing your eyes to meet his. "Scara", You say as you approach him. His demeanour was back to normal, apart from the outfit he was back to normal. "I missed you", You say to him and flash him a smile and yet you don't get the response you're looking for. "Get away from me Vermin", He cussed moving back slightly. His eyes held nothing but disgust as he looked at you. "Vermin?", You ask confused as you crossed your arms.

"What else do you call touchy strangers?", He asks causing your heart to drop. Stranger? He still didn't know who you were. "You don't know who I am?" You ask to confirm as you search his eyes. He had to be joking. "Am I supposed to?", He asked with a raised eyebrow. Your heart sunk deeper as you felt your blood boil. "You said this would fix him?", You ask as you turn to the traveller and Nahida. They looked confused, just as confused as you were. "He remembers his past quite well. What could the issue be?", Nahida questioned as she placed a hand on her chin.

"Maybe you were just insignificant."

"What?", You asked him with widened eyes.

"You heard me."

"Me? You think I'm insignificant? ", You ask again just to be sure. But deep down you couldn't help but weigh the possibility. What else could it possibly be? He remembered everyone! Even Paimon and yet you were the only one left out. What other reason could there be other than him not wanting to remember you? The late-night whispers and touches. All the kisses and nights that were shared between you. They were insignificant to him.

"You are."

A chuckle escapes your lips. That was the height of your anger. You wouldn't yell. What would be the point? "I probably was", You mumble and smile at him. "I apologise, I'll be leaving now", You said bowing. You left immediately after not sparing anyone a glance. As soon as she leave the sanctuary your legs gave out. It was too much for you, you were overflowing.

"You didn't have to do it that harshly Wanderer!", Paimon scolded and yet he didn't respond. His eyes hadn't left the door. It hurt. His chest hurt. He mumbled quietly, his words could only be deciphered by someone with keen hearing. "Goodbye, my love. I'm sorry".

"The twelfth of the fatui harbingers. I urge you to confess to your crimes," The annoying voice repeated. You expected much from the Dendro archon. The intellectual out of the seven archons.

The smell of leaves blowing into the night. The tight bonds against your hands. Your body hovered in the centre of the room. The lighting only illuminated you and the archon. It hadn't served its purpose. Your lips were sealed shut.

Despite the many times Nahida had repeated the question, an answer never left your lips. The occasional chuckles and smiles only made the archon gulp harshly in response.

"Why don't you make me? You're meant to be an archon, aren't you? Upholding justice? What good are you if you can't make a simple pawn like myself speak?", You taunted, staring back at her with wide eyes. Your smile had only grown wider as you observed the lady.

Her hands clenched the helm of her skirt tightly as she stared blankly at the ground. She was at a loss. She'd soon give up on your little fight. She almost couldn't recognize you. Your outfit, your hairstyle, your aura. All of it had changed. You were colder. Much much colder. Your eyes had lost their spark and your once calming voice now incited fear.

"I am only trying to get to the bottom of this. It would be better if you cooperated", Nahida reasoned.

"When I have an archon backed into the corner? I'd rather die."

Her eyes search your face for changes. They looked for the smallest detail to show that you were still you. That this was just a sick joke and you didn't hospitalize the acting grand mage of Sumeru. That you didn't fight him and inflict multiple injuries. That you didn't poison him! You did.

Your chin was high and the subtle winks you sent her way showed no sign of repentance. You had come back to Sumeru with a purpose and you had succeded. You didn't intend on staying long but you wanted to make sure that Alhaitham and Linda were six feet under by the time you left.

"Please, this isn't you. You were calm and peaceful. You always knew how to put a smile on people's faces," Nahida reasoned once more this time coming closer to you. She straightened out her posture and her gaze was sharp. She was determined.

She watched your eyes widen and your smile drop. Your movements halted as you stared blankly at a wall. Your breaths quickened as the reality of the situation had truly set in.

"Please, I know you can overcome this"

"What have I done? What have I done?", You mumble lowly allowing Nadia's chest to swell. She was finally getting through to you. All she needed was one more push.

"Please, I know-", Nahida started but your manic laughter filled the room. The poor girl could feel her heart sink to her stomach.

"Don't waste your time Nahida. The sweet girl from before is dead. and you know who killed her?", You ask as her legs stumble backwards. Your hands broke out of the bond with ease. A small gasp escapes Nahida's lips and her legs stumble backwards once more.

You stalked up to her causing her to trip and land on the ground. You could see the sweat dripping down her forehead. You squat down to her eye levels allowing her to fully take in your appearance. The scars on your face, the flyaways of your hair and the brokenness of your eyes.

"They killed me. They did this to me. They killed me and so I did the same Nahida", You said, allowing a smile to play on your lips once more.

As your footprints drew farther away from her in the Sanctuary of Surasthana, she could feel a piece of herself break as well.

"Ugh", you grunted as your muscles ached again. The pain was a harsh reminder of the adventure you had returned from. Just last week you were running through the forest with Dehya and the traveller having a fun time and now you couldn't move without having tears stream down your face. Just trying to get up from the bed was proving to be an issue. You lay on your back, staring blankly at the ceiling letting out a soft sigh, silently cursing the Ruin drake for catching you off guard.

You take a deep and clench your teeth forcing yourself to sit up and rest your back on the bed frame.

The sound of the busy streets of Liyue could be heard along with the chirping of birds and the crashing of the gentle waves. The golden rays of sunlight broke into your room. Usually, you'd get up to look at the scenery, but you didn't want to. The thought of the pain that would follow was discouraging enough. If not for Zhongli bringing you food, you'd prefer to starve to death than get up and cook something. You closed your eyes briefly as you relax, enjoying the atmosphere.

The door creaked open and the sound of footsteps followed causing you to open your eyes. "My love, are you ok?", a familiar voice asked causing you to take a deep breath. You endured the pain as you slowly turned your head to face him. Zhongli had gotten his answer just from looking at you. "It appears your situation hasn't gotten that much better", Zhongli said as he walked to the bed. He gently placed his hand on yours and leaned over, placing a kiss on your forehead. "It still hurts like hell", You say, pain evident in your voice as you look at him. "Perhaps, I should try a different type of tea today. I should have a recipe to help with aching and help you recover strength", Zhongli said as he gently ran over your cheek with his thumb.

Zhongli had tried different tea recipes to help you get better but to no avail. It was odd, unlike the archon was used to. His only comfort was that body ache was the only issue and you seemed to be in good health. "It seems we may have to cancel our walk to the harbour", You said sadly as you couldn't see yourself going on any date outside of the four walls of your bedroom. " I see, it seems I should change our plans to something indoors", Zhongli said as he slowly withdrew his hand from your cheek and placed it on his chin.

As Zhongli pondered, the room grew silent only being filled with the sounds of the outside world. What could the two of you do together that wouldn't cause too much stress on you and didn't require movement on your end? The both of you sat in silence and for a few minutes, there was no answer. As much as you loved him, you had no intention of doing anything today. You closed your eyes briefly and relaxed, not noticing his gold eyes studying your movements.

You hummed to yourself softly before feeling the bed dip. You felt Zhongli manoeuvre you from where you were to a new position. Your back laid on his chest as his soft breaths tickled your face. Neither of you spoke but you knew that this was the best decision. Resting in each others' arms enjoying the silent company.

A/n: Hey everyone, I know that this was a long hiatus but I'm back! I've been working on my YouTube and twitch! They are in the pinned post on my page!

The first 'I love you' is supposed to be special, it is all you had ever dreamed of since you fell for and started dating Xiao. It was the one thing you wanted to hear him say to you and yet you had never heard him utter those words. And you had almost thought you would die without hearing them.

You weren't sure how long you had been down here. But luckily you had the traveller, Yanfei, Yelan and Kuki Shinobu to give rough estimates. You had seen your boyfriend Xiao not too long before you after you entered this place. He left and you hadn't seen him since. You had found it difficult to find him in this cursed place you couldn't leave. Every move led to one trap or another, ultimately building your paranoia and fear of this space. "Everyone, grab something to eat", Kuki said attempting to raise morale. You had been in worse shape than everyone, especially when the mystery door decided to play tricks on you.

A few hours ago, while searching for your boyfriend, you had gotten to a door that showed everyone their worst fears. While everyone elses' wasn't too intense, the door had other plans for you. Upon walking to it, you saw a body limp on the ground, barely moving. The more you focused, you saw that the body belonged to Xiao. He wasn't moving and you hardly saw any sign of breathing. He was covered in cuts and bruises. You gasped in shock. Taken aback, you tripped on a rock behind you and had your head connect with the ground, ultimately causing you to pass out.

You had awakened not long after and were now waiting with the others, as Yelan and Yanfei worked on a way to get you out of the current situation. You still felt hazy and a bit dizzy from the fall and found it difficult to focus. Though the oni and Ushi were doing their best to keep you company. Yanfei and the traveller walked away from the group leaving you to your thoughts. What was Xiao even doing here in the first place? And why did he treat you like a stranger when you approached him? These questions were left to be answered by Xiao alone.

Paimon was also out of it, floating in mid-air while unconscious from exhaustion. The party was at its lowest right now. To think you were tagging along with Yanfei as a good friend and now you would most likely spend your last moments suspended in a timeless space searching for your boyfriend. It was a scary thought.

The traveller and Yanfei showed up a few moments later with Xiao causing you to blink your eyes hoping this wasn't a sick trick from this space. You wanted to call out to him, but as you examined his current state, you decided against it. It was clear that Xiao needed urgent treatment or at least some adequate rest since he is an Adeptus. Yanfei walked up to you as she saw your worried expression.

"The guardian Yaksha will be fine, he just needs to rest. You should get some rest too, you hit your head pretty hard", Yanfei said earning a small nod from you as you relaxed on your spot resting against Ushi. "The little guy is tough, relax," Itto said assuring you. Despite their assurances, you couldn't help but wonder what put him in this state in the first place. Xiao was an Adeptus for goodness sake! If he was this hurt, what chance did the rest of us have?

The hours passed faster than you expected as you woke up to being in a protective circle with Itto, Kuki and Ushi. "The others have gone to search a new area, they will be back soon," Kuki said. Kuki and Yanfei were the only ones in the entire Teyvat that you told about your relationship with the Adeptus. Kuki had been one of your closest friends when she came to study law in Liyue before the vision hunt decree. "I know you're worried, but Xiao will be fine, he is with the traveller after all," Kuki says in an attempt to calm me. I sigh from my spot on the ground.

Sure the traveller could be there for him but it will all amount to nothing if Xiao doesn't let it. Xiao would readily give his life if it meant that it was for the people of Liyue no matter what anyone said. Heck, you've been together for two years and you could see it in his nature! Xiao is an Adeptus, he believes it's his duty and even if he promised to stay safe, you knew he said that not to worry you.

The group came back not too long after, fantastic compass in hand. Xiao stood casually next to you, not trying to be too obvious that you two knew each other to the others. "So if the notes are right, it means that only through the cooperation of a human and an Adeptus was this place sealed, meaning that we would need that same cooperation for us to get out of here," Yanfei said as she placed her hand on the compass causing it to light up faintly. The rest of what she said was lost on your ears as you looked at Xiao silently.

Yelen and Xiao put their hands and the compass causing it to light up fully. "I will maintain the energy flow," Xiao said causing Yelan to remove her hand. "Understood," Yelan said. Yanfei continued to conduct everyone as Itto remained passed out on the platform that had formed below us. The platform had started to ascend at a fast place before we were attacked by a swarm of spirits.

With one look at Xiao who was struggling, You summoned my claymore and began to fight alongside Yelan and the others. You swung left and right cutting through them and embedding Hydro from your vision into your attacks. Xiao looked worse off with each passing moment. You all had to get through this as fast as you could, if not it would all be for nothing. The physical exhaustion of your earlier battles had not worn off and it was getting difficult to continue wielding the weapon.

You backed up and end up beside Xiao with Yelan on the other side of him. "Y/n, I'm sorry, I hope you'll forgive me," Xiao said. Before you could turn to question him, you felt yourself floating above only catching the hushed "I love you" he sent your way. The distance between you both was getting larger by the second. "Xiao," You yell at the top of your lungs as you floated at high speeds. The platform that previously supported you broke and Xiao fell. He had accepted his fate long before. On the surface, you erupted into full panic mode, looking around for Xiao. You searched yet couldn't catch the till accents of his hair or his figure anywhere. You were about to collapse and wail as you prayed to Rex Lapis or which other god would listen to your miserable prayers. You knew this day would come, you knew that he would sacrifice himself yet you held unto your stupid hopes and beliefs. You thought that if you loved him hard enough, if you made him promise to stay safe, it would be enough, but it wasn't. To think that the first time he told you that he loved you was when he was about to die.

What you would give for him to say it to you one more time, to even see him one more time, for him to even be here!

"Xiao! you're Ok!" The traveller said causing you to quickly look behind you. Xiao didn't say anything. He looked confused about how he was even here. Xiao silently walked up to you and engulfed you in a hug. "I love you, I love you so much!"

The first 'I love you ' is supposed to be special but as long as you had Xiao safe in your arms, every 'I love you' is special.

The kamisato estate was calm and serene. Your sister ayaka was out in the city, while your brother Ayato was gone as usual. But the constant nagging of the elders who could find no satisfaction killed the serenity time and time again. You could do nothing but wait in the courtyard of the estate. What you were waiting for, the servants and elders could only guess. No one dared say anything to you while you waited, but the look of disappointment you had when the day passed was saddening for everyone. Today was no different as you sat facing the entrance of the estate with a neutral expression for the 5th day in a row. The irodori festival has ended in the same amount of time. The mystery of the fifth Kasen had been uncovered and all parties present had gone back to their own lives.

Tiny drops of water landed softly on the ground picking up pace with each passing moment till it began to poor. The air had become cold but you still refused to go into the building. The servants could only watch the hope fade from your eyes with each passing moment. "Y/n are you alright? You look a bit dejected, I made hot chocolate and I set up the board game inside so we can play if you are up for it," A voice said before a familiar blond came into view. "Thank you Thoma but I don't think I'm up to it. I'm....busy" You say with your gaze not leaving the estate entrance. "May I ask who you're waiting for, Y/n?" Thoma asked with curiousity. You sigh as your fists clench ever so slightly. You envision his calm face adorned with a small smile and the promise he made after the festival. "I'll come back for you," those were his exact words to you time and time again when he had to leave while you sat at the estate rotting away as you listen to the elders of your clan.

"Kazuha? What do you think the other nations are like? What do they eat?" You asked him as you both sat in a cave. The view was memorable and you could only sit and enjoy each others presence as the sun set. Who knew that a place like that exists right below Tenshukaku? "I do not know my love, but one day, I'll make sure that we experience them together, I'm sure the experience will be quite fun and eventful," He said as he combed his hand through your hair while you laid in his lap. "I'll make sure we experience it all together and travel the world together," He says causing you to smile. That was the first time you two ever talked about something like that and made plans to go and see the world of teyvat. That was before the vision hunt decree that caused him to flee inazuma set out on his journey without you and when the vision hunt decree finished, he decided to continue to travel without you. He continued on without you despite the previous promises you had made to each other. But when he came for the Irodori Festival, you thought that he was finally here to redeem himself and finally take you along with him on his journey. The two of you had had made plans after the festival had been concluded and despite promising to meet up with you at the estate, he never showed up. You waited day after day since the festival ended, thinking that you had mixed up the dates and each time you are left feeling disappointed.

Time and time again you make sure you started in high hopes, only to end up disappointed and broken at the end of the day continuously. How many times are you going to let him disappoint you? How many times were you going to give him the benefit of a doubt only for your doubts to be confirmed? How long way you going to hold out on your duties to the people of inazuma for a man who refused to keep his word. If he really wanted to be here, he would be here already. If he really wanted to travel with you, you would be doing that already. So why would you keep waiting for a person who refuses to do the very same you both had planned to do? "No one, I'm done waiting," You say as you get up to go into the estate. Thoma was shocked and wondered what you were thinking about that caused you to give up on your initial motive. He hadn't expected you to accept his offer without a little back and forth. But he got joined you regardless. "Y/n!" You hear a voice yell from the entrance of the estate. The voice belonged to none other than Kazuha. "I'm here!" He yelled, his voice hard to hear due to the heavy rain. He makes his way over to where you stood away from the downpour. "I know, I'm late but I'm here and I'm not going anywhere without you", He says out of breath. He was here now, and that was enough for you. "Lady Ayaka owes me a thousand Mora"

""Where is he?" You asked as you stare at the clock on the wall of the restaurant that you had been waiting for Thoma in for the past two hours. He was usually never late well that was up until recent. You had known that his job as the housekeeper of the Kamisato estate was pretty demanding but he had always been able to meet up with you to hang out at least once a week. With the vision hunt decree finally being over and you being able to see him without restraint, you hoped he would at least put in some effort to see you. It was difficult to live normally after the ceremony for the 100th vision had taken place and Thoma had almost lost his ambition. You had the Raiden's patrol soldiers at your front door pretty regularly to the point where even Ayaka had asked you to move into the Kamisato estate for the time being, to which you humbly declined. It would make you look all the more guilty. Though after the whole thing had come to a close and Inazuma finally being able to move forward, you were beyond excited to see your boyfriend again. But now it felt like you were the only one. The pitied looks were already being sent your way as you sat all alone glancing at the door way too often.

By the third hour, you had decided to call it a day and leave the restaurant. You could no longer bear the embarrassment and the pitied glances for the people around you. You left the restaurant and decided to purchase the next volume of 'The tale of the moonlight sword' from the Yae publishing house. Maybe you could find some way to take your mind off things. "My, my someone looks awfully drained. I'm guessing you had a rough day ?" A voice said to you upon reaching the publishing house. "Hello Yae," You say as you direct your attention from the shelf to face her completely. "Care to relay your troubles unto me, I assure you I'm a really good listener," She says as she stands in front of you. "After all, I can't have one of my top writers be too down to submit their next volume, can I?" Yae said. "It's Thoma but I really do not wish to speak about it," You say as you pay for the book. "Hmm, very well but I shall not pry. But do come to visit me at the shrine, I miss your presence plus there's no one new to tease" She said sensing your sour mood. You set off to the Kamisato estate to pay Thoma a visit and maybe keep him some company since he was too busy to see you. The journey was quiet as it started to pour as the rain accompanied your sour mood. You had no umbrella on hand causing you to have to journey through the Chinju forest in the rain. Upon arriving at the estate the first to spot you was Ayato.

"Y/n? What are you doing in the rain without an umbrella? " He said rushing towards you with an umbrella he found nearby. "Fetch Thoma from inside," he tells his guards to which one quickly follows the order. "What happened, you seem upset?" Ayato asks as he escorts you to sit at the table where he sat previously. "Is Thoma here? I wanted to keep him company since he's been busier recently" You sat to Ayato as you look at him expectantly waiting for a response. "Busier? I am not aware of any extra work being given to Thoma, though it may be. I am barely home so I cannot confirm" He says as he looks at you with realization hitting him like a truck. "Did two of you have plans today?" He asks as he examines your facial features awaiting even the slightest confirmation of his theory. As though on cue, Thoma rushes out, taking no note of you as he addresses Ayato. "My lord, I was informed of your call, what do you need assistance with?" He asked not making eye contact with or acknowledging your presence. "Y/n managed to get caught in the rain please treat her to a warm bath and some clean clothes," Ayato says as he looks at Thoma expectantly. "Yes, my Lord" Thoma says as he rushes to your side to help you and escort you into the building. "Are you alright? What have I told you about always having an umbrella on hand. You are gonna catch a cold, I didn't think I'd have to babysit you" He says jokingly but soon caught on to your sour mood. "Y/n are you ok? Have I done something wrong?" He asked stopping in his tracks to look at you for the first time in what felt like forever.

"I don't know Thoma, you tell me. I know you love me, but as of recent, it takes a lot for me to convince myself that I'm not the only one in this relationship" You say before you stop walking. "I know you are busy but I expected you to at least try to meet up with our arrangements," You say again searching his eyes for an answer. His green eyes show constant flashes of regret as he tenses a bit. "Our date ..." He says as he pauses trying to recall the smallest details. In a matter of seconds, Thoma's face forged into one of realization. "I'm sorry! It skipped my mind, I have been helping Lumine with a few things adding to my already hectic job. So I'm.." He says but you cut him off. "Lumine? The traveler?" You asked trying to remain calm. "Yes, I've been helping her with a few things since after the vision hunt decree. So most of my free time I've been spending helping her and paimon. I would have told you but I..." He says but stops as he thinks of what to say next. At this point, you were done. You turn to Thoma and you walk towards the direction you came. A hand grabs your wrist lightly making you turn around. Thoma looked worried as he looked at your face as he spewed out apologies as he sensed your growing anger. "I understand that I'm not your priority" You say as you yank your hand away and watch Thoma break almost instantly. "When you realize that I'm the one you are with, you are welcome to come to see me," You say before you run out of the building Ignoring the worried yells from Ayato and making a B line to the Grand Narukami Shrine. Thoma could only stand in silence as he let a single tear fall remaining silent despite Ayaka's worried calls. But you were his priority and always would be, no matter how busy he would be.

Zhongli was not interested in love, at least that's what you told yourself. He always kept to himself, he never expressed interest in anyone, not you, not anyone in Liyue and it broke you. You were utterly in love with a man who showed no romantic feelings towards anyone. You had first seen him around Liyue Harbor, his elegance and knowledge were what drew you to him. He struck you as a perfect being, you even questioned if he was real. His looks left you star-struck and yearning to be closer maybe just to even speak to you once, maybe even look at you. But alas, the archons had other things to do because they clearly weren't answering your prayers. He didn't glance your way, not even once, but why would he? You were a simple traveler who worked with the adventurers guild! You were adventure rank 29, you were not even halfway to being the best of the best. You could barely handle the ruin hunters and guards on your own. You were nothing but a helpless puppy looking at a treat it couldn't have. That was until you crossed paths with a certain Snezhnayan at the Northland Bank.

You were only there to store some money for a friend of yours when you happened to walk in while he was yelling at one of his subordinates. It was a very awkward moment, you stood there at the center of the bank while he was yelling his cords out. You cleared your throat alerting everyone at the bank. "Who was this and did they have a death wish?", that was the only question running through everyone's mind. No one in the entirety had the gulls to interrupt a Fatui harbinger. A moment of shock swarmed the bank as you walked to the front desk and submitted a form with a bag of mora. With that you were out of the bank, who would blame you, there were a bunch of foreign eyes boring holes into your figure. The 11th Harbinger was shocked, who were you and where did you come from? You didn't look strong in the slightest but that took courage. "We'll pick this up later Nadia," Childe said as he left the bank trying to follow you. You on the other hand thought you were going to die, you were booking it down the street. Maybe the idea of buying a coffin from Hutao didn't seem like such a bad idea. "There you are! We happen to have gotten off on the wrong foot, I'm number eleven of the Fatui Harbingers. Code name Childe! But I also go by Tartaglia" A voice from behind you as a hand grabbed your shoulder. You let out the loudest scream of your life only to be stopped almost immediately by his hand clasping against your mouth. "Relax I'm not going to hurt you, we just got off on the wrong foot," Childe said. And that was how you met Childe, your now good friend in Liyue Harbor.

The Fatui Harbinger had proved to be a bit more human than you initially thought. He was perceptive, a bit too perceptive, he could see your feelings for Zhongli from a mile away, It was sad for him to watch you helplessly stare at a guy you had never spoken to. You had done nothing but drool at him and not take any serious action towards your goal! He was your friend and now he's getting stressed out on your behalf. He was going to get you two to meet even if you would only be acquaintances, you two had to at least talk to one another. Childe had it all planned out, He'd make plans with Zhongli and then invite you to join, it would be simple yet highly effective. So Childe set a day where you three would have time. You thought you were having lunch with childe only to be met with the object of your admirations sitting there and giving you a warm smile. You didn't know if you wanted to kill Childe or thank him but at that moment, you were frozen. When you calmed down, two had hit it off. You discussed various topics that you never had a chance to talk about with others. This only cemented your feelings towards him. You two had become pretty good friends not too long after that. He often told you stories about Liyue's history that were often omitted in the books. It was ok for you at that time.

You two were friends, the word had made you giddy at first but now it left a bitter taste in your mouth. If you had a mora for every time he called you that, you'd have your own Jade chamber. It annoyed you to no end but in Zhongli's defense, you'd never outright said anything to insinuate anything other than friendship. That was why you confessed, during your trip to the Guili planes. You thought you had a chance with him, you thought it would finally be your chance at love despite Childe's worried glances at you whenever you brought up the topic to him. Your confession was short yet sweet, you kept your gaze on the ground beneath you as you awaited an answer that would propel you forward in your relationship. "I'm sorry, I don't feel the same. I have decided to live a life without romance but you really are amazing" Zhongli said as he heard your heart shatter. You didn't cry, you didn't show any emotion, you only kept a straight face that he couldn't read. "I understand, I would like to head back, I'm sorry," You said as you did a quick spring before continuing to stroll. It was an action Zhongli had seen you do in uncomfortable situations but it rubbed him the wrong way when you did it to him. But as soon as you were far enough from him, your tears poured uncontrollably, It was too much for you, what were you thinking?

You and Childe were out in the Harbour the next day, you looked dead inside and everyone could tell something happened. You didn't speak, smile, or respond to Childe's antics. You were like a robot, with no feeling whatsoever. But as you passed by Zhongli's favourite storyteller and you saw him talking to Ningguang with eyes that looked no different than when you looked at him, It struck you! He didn't want to live life without romance, he had someone else that he wanted and that someone wasn't you.
