1. this bangel/stelena "something's gotta give" fanvid. i love seeing all the parallels between bangel and stelena. you cut it together so smoothly, and the song fits perfectly. ahh i love the comparison of the ring angel gives buffy and the necklace stefan gives elena. this vid has me so emotional, i love it! 2. this multicouples "silence" fanvid. so many great couples in this! and i'm so happy you included thiam. i don't see nearly enough of them. and posie oh my gosh i miss them. you're always so great at picking the perfect song. 3. this andi mack couples "ruin my life" fanvid. all the best couples, so beautifully put together. i just feel really happy watching this video! gosh i really miss andi mack. 4. this barchie "leaving my love behind" fanvid. the song choice is beautiful and the scenes flow together so well. i love the text with an accent word in curly lettering. and of course your coloring style looks amazing with them! 5. this haylijah "losing your memory" fanvid. it does such a good job of capturing their relationship, its ups and downs and untimely end. you picked the perfect scenes and quotes and ahhh this vid has me crying. also i especially love the fade out on elijah at the end while he fades away. and for your gifsets, my favorite one is this captain swan gifset. i love the black and white accent gif and all the happy scenes you chose and the close up of the hand on the storybook. simply gorgeous!

 i’m rewatching the tekken gaming vid which coincidentally was released in october 2014 and, my god, has five years done good for phil’s confidence. he was so much quieter, normally letting dan take the lead with jokes and just pitching in, but now his voice has that real oomph of ‘i know what i’m saying and you better take it or leave it’ and he seems more extroverted in videos and god... don’t bother writing that essay about glo-ups if you’re not using the right case study

Favorite Manson video and why?

Hi, Anon! Technically, it's been the vid for Mephistopheles of Los Angeles since... Uhm... I guess 2015. I love the simplicity of pallette and set, the way physical movement steps in to tell the story, and the entire concept of the parking lot gangbanger revival followed by baptising a woman to death. Powerful imagery if you ask me. It feels like a one-set play with drama and depth. So from an artistic standpoint, I hold it in high regard.

Still, as far as the sheer joy of a video goes... Tattooed in Reverse is at least top 3. It's provocative and sexy with color and shadow play, which I like. There's the fun of suit vs scrubs. And of course there's Glo-on-Manson action and Manson-on-Nurse-Ratchet action, with very different energies. At least that's what I've heard. Once he sticks his thumb in his mouth I black out. 😂

Definitely definitely definitely I’ll do better by @stefanselenaa. It is such an amazing tribute to the show as a whole and it talks about so many storylines and characters in just three minutes and I genuinely do not understand how that is possible. But seriously, if you haven’t yet go watch it. And while you’re at it check out the rest of her videos because they’re all amazing.

And when it comes to ship edits, I can’t not mention somewhere only we know by @jonahsdimples and if they only knew (Glo again - seriously, check out her edits) because those are my absolute favorite Tyrus vids (they came out after 3x07 and 3x06 respectively so one of them is heartwarming and the other is angsty, it’s a great combination)

The gaming channel high-key needs a glo-up :// I feel like that's part of the reason they're losing views, to outside fans (non-phandom members, their target audience) there's a small difference between a vid from 2015 and now other than the haircuts :/ I'm sure it's super hard for them to change because of the phandom but it sucks to see them lose views like they are

hi dear! i,,,,,,,have to respectfully disagree? first and foremost, i think that they as people have changed so much over the years that the vids are completely different and hold very different energies. objectively, i suppose the structure of the vids isn’t all that different? it’s still just them sat in their gaming room playing something and banting, but i don’t think that’s because of us?

like. here’s the thing: if someone is enjoying themselves doing whatever they’re doing, it’s at least sixty-five times more interesting to watch (or consume, whatever form of media it is) and i think as the years have passed, they’ve gotten more comfortable with the gaming channel in general and more comfy in front of us, and it really shows - they let themselves just have fun on the channel (for the most part, i think there are a few #spons that aren’t quite as good bc it’s a little more obvious they aren’t enjoying them as much)

here’s the second thing: as long as they’re having fun, idgaf honestly. they put more content out on there than their main channels (no shade on that, just a fact) and that in and of itself means they’re getting more revenue from it, even if the vids aren’t getting a million views right away. not to mention the high probability that there’s something wrong with the way yt is counting views, plus dnp have mentioned several times that the algorithm doesn’t exactly make it easy for them. plus plus they’re not trying to conform to the algorithm, and they’ve been on tour and uploading less frequently (which means they aren’t as likely to be recommended to casual viewers with the algorithm).

i know i’ve said it before but 1. i don’t trust yt view count and 2. i don’t think views are like. a huge deal for them right now. and tbqh i’d rather they didn’t try to conform to some arbitrary algorithm, because i don’t think the content they’d produce would be as good as it is now.

also i,,,,,,am not entirely sure ‘non-phandom members’ are their target audience? like ofc they want to appeal to everyone as much as they can, but like. i think their target audience is whoever wants to watch? and i think they do a lot with us in mind as the target audience? now, am i right? i have no clue obviously, and i’ll never actually know, but i really think if they were targeting outside audiences (ie in the vein i assume you’re going with, where they sort of ‘count on’ our views regardless of what they put out and then go with what they think casual viewers would want to see) they’d have already changed their vids? they’d play more popular games when they’re popular probably? but idk tho

anyway i got way sidetracked here, but genuinely i don’t think there’s anything wrong with the gaming channel the way it is and i do think it’s changed over the years. if they did want to change ‘more significantly’, i honestly think they’re in the sort of mental place where they’d go for it? but i’m not entirely sure they want to (i would support them either way, ofc, but i just don’t get the vibe they actually want to change what they’re doing?)

main point here: i think as long as they’re enjoying themselves and not stressing too hard over any kind of algorithm or producing content they aren’t happy with, they should do what they want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
