though you can’t help but think if the seven are laughing at you, quite literally. your state isn’t so stable as it seems..

wriothesley, your partner, had called sigewinne ages ago to check on your health status. although it was all negative, the tests, the results, the examinations, all negative.

there wasn’t anything wrong with you, so why is there an aching pain in your stomach whenever your brain just relapses back to the past, the time where you had done such unforgiving sins, you couldn’t even do a whole statement word for word on what you had done to those poor victims.

one of them, someone special to you. someone special that you had lost because of your own carelessness, someone you had lost because you were being selfish, someone who you wished to cherish for a lifetime— though fate is mocking you unfortunately.

and the pain, the inkling pain deep inside that you cant ignore, it’s annoying. it’s frustrating. it’s … sad.

it’s a pity to see someone like you, a nice person who only wished to improve themselves and hope for a better future. yet it seems celestia didn’t approve.

your longtime partner, wriothesley, had been worried for you. ever since you met, you were always dozing off, not focusing, you looked uncomfortable yet he couldn’t pinpoint what was actually wrong.

it was starting to piss him off, really. the way you doze off when he talks to you, when you two spend time together and your too busy in your own little world to pay attention to him.

wriothesley had decided to sit you down, like what any partner would do when they encounter a misunderstanding or a mishap. communication is key after all.

he couldn’t ever forget the look on your face, the day where you looked at him with such pitiful eyes and regretful ones while he just stared back at you with a stern look.

he feels pity, wriothesley feels pity. someone like him shouldn’t, so what is this he feels?

“tell me what’s been bugging you for months, [name].” wriothesley takes a deep breath, then exhales as you sat there, fidgeting with your fingers. “i didnt get the chance to ask you back then, since it was your privacy after all, hm?” he spoke firmly, his voice laced with curiosity and the tone where he just wants to know the truth.

just tell him, it wouldn’t be so hard. he’s your partner after all, you have every right to tell him so. “[name], i’m doing this to help you. you’re someone extremely precious to me and i can’t help myself just seeing you look so lost.” wriothesley explains, sighing deeply as he waits for your response.

how would he react? he’s the all mighty scary wriothesley after all. he’s known to have less mercy and sympathy on others. why tell? you’ll just embarrass yourself, you thought to yourself.

but you couldn’t. you couldn’t keep a secret, especially towards him. if he was any other people, a stranger, you would’ve kept it till the end of your life. but he’s not just a stranger.

he’s your partner, your loved one, your everything. wriothesley is someone you can trust, someone you care for. is it really worth keeping a secret from him?

you took a deep breath, letting the air get past your nostrils. “i have.. committed alot of unforgettable things in the past, someone like you wouldn’t like. someone like you wouldn’t appreciate.” you confessed, looking down and avoiding your beloved’s longing stare.

wriothesley looks at you, tilting his head in confusion. you? doing things that he couldn’t possibly imagine? “ever since i’ve started to open up a new path to walk on, the guilt in my chest still pains me. it’s almost eating me whole.” you continue.

he smiles at you, not a happy smile, a faint sad smile. he’s quite joyful about how you were guilty, and not like any other person who wouldnt even feel the slightest bit of empathy to what they’ve done wrong in the past.

this is the [name] he fell inlove with. the honest, confident, firm, one. there was no denying that wriothesley was hopelessly inlove with you. and he finds it lovingly amusing.

“if you regret it, then it’s okay. you don’t have to be in debt of a thing you regret on doing. if you truly feel guilt, then it just means your improving and want to be a better person my love.” he smiles, standing up and walking over to your seat, crouching before you as you were forced to look at him.

wriothesley holds your chin, going up to caress your cheeks coated with a red flush. “it may be your fault or not, but there will always be a way to fight back the sins of the past. you can get through it, i know you can.”

“your the strong and confident lady i love after all, hm?” he says with a grin, which makes your already flustered enough face go even more red.

you smile tenderly as he continues to caress your cheek, you leaned into his touch as you hear him chuckle lowly. wriothesley stands up straight, his hand now on your head as he ruffles your soft and silky hair.

wriothesley smirks, a teasing one. which means he’s probably going to say something just to tease you and to lighten up the mood a bit. “besides, i’m the only one who’s allowed to eat you whole, princess.”

Twitter was sent into a frenzy on Sunday, as AlphaTauri driver Yuki Tsunoda sneakily revealed during his post-race interview that his previously-unknown beau was in attendance at the Miami GP!

Tsunoda has been notoriously quiet about his private life, leaving fans stunned at the seemingly out-of-nowhere revelation. The Internet quickly began to scour for the unknown woman online, however with what little information they had, quickly turned up empty. Though, the commotion evidently attracted the attention of the team at AlphaTauri themselves. On Monday, their official Instagram account uploaded a post commemorating the weekend, in which Tsunoda’s girlfriend was also featured.

Eagle-eyed fans may have noted that both Yuki Tsunoda and the AlphaTauri Instagram account were both cheekily interacting with a private account. Soon, rumours were flying that this account was indeed run by Tsunoda’s girlfriend. As seen above, a quick look reveals that numerous Formula 1 drivers including Pierre Gasly, Lando Norris, Daniel Ricciardo, and Tsunoda himself, are following the account.

Some were not so convinced, however. Fans were also quick to question the account’s authenticity, with some expressing doubts on whether the account owner was even the alleged girlfriend herself.  However, these rumours were soon revealed to be true. On Tuesday, the account – which had previously been private with little over 300 followers – mysteriously became public. Fans immediately flocked to the account, taking to Twitter and Instagram to report their findings. With her most recent post being a dedication to her boyfriend and her time “in miamiiiiii with my boyyyyyy”, there is little doubt that the account’s owner – whom we can now confirm is Y/N L/N – is in fact the Japanese driver’s girlfriend!

these two have so much angst potential

* Gray purposefully take the route to and from his house that passes the river even though it takes longer, just on the off chance Erza might be there

There's spoilers ahead so, yeah, be careful.

This weekend episodes have actually broken my soul.

He didn't even need his feelings to be reciprocate, HE JUST WANTED TO BE WITH HER.

Dear writers, some things to ask, why so much screen time to second male lead? Why create such chemistry? Such backstory? (Spoiler alert: that will make us sympathize with the supposed villain) To just fuck*ing rip his heart out and pulverize it like Grandma with the cow bones, yes, just like that.

Let me get this straight, after having been raised in an environment of violence, pain and God knows what else for God knows how long, he falls in love. He experiences ✨feelings✨ ,he puts all his trust in her like never before, he shares his past and then he gets betrayed.

I swear I never seen someone cry so with so much meaning, feeling, with so much back there.

We made progress for the last (at least) five episodes TO JUST END IT IN A SINGLE ONE.

This could have been handled a lot better in a lot of ways and about a lot of topics that I could actually write an essay.

Let's begin the the main leads.

So, in order to have some sort of feeling about ML and FL loving eachother you need to put screen time ON them. Yeah, they support eachother, they have known far before Si Oh, they are funny and a lot of things more. They even kissed and very passionately, wow. Just one thing, Why didn't I even blink during that scene but found myself hitting the pillow and blushing when Si Oh did such mundane things as taking her home, opening doors for her, fixing her purse, hair, looking at her with those "I love you" eyes,👏feeling👏guilty👏about👏making👏her👏uncomfortable👏 with👏his👏feelings👏for👏her HELLO??, WAVING HER BACK WHILE HE WATCHED HER GO, SMILE EVERY DAMN TIME HE SAW HER?

I´ll tell you why. Because I know, thanks to you, that Si Oh was experiencing for the very first time what it's like to have human interaction that doesn't involve violence or having to be wary of everything and everyone all the time. He wanted to connect, to share his whole self, to be happy, to make her happy, to love and be loved. Moreover, I can't help just to feel happy for him, sad, angry, fucking rageous (not more than him, obviously).

Meanwhile, I barely know Hee Sik aka the male lead.

I remember seeing his mother once and I think that's what I understood about his private life. Sorry, I forgot about his deceased brother, that could have been a good topic to develop if it wasn't just mentioned once somewhere in the sixth chapter and left there to rot. Other than that, I know he is a cop, loves his cops friends and loves Nam Soon, also he is really loyal and good person.

Nice👍, very nice. But what else?? Or does the man just exist for his job and girlfriend? Even Shi Oh had some time to box being a drug dealer and full time whipped for her.

I'm just saying that you want me to suddenly dislike someone you took a considerable amount of time explaining but I have to like this good guy because you just pointed at him 👉🧍, and said, "here's the good guy, love him".

Sorry, I cant do that.

If you haven't noticed, you just made a character I fell obliged to sympathize.

If you wanted to make him evil and hot you should have just made him evil and hot.

It worked just as well with Jang Han Seok from Vincenzo.

Not have him have "REDEMPTION" written all over his face just to go with "Actually, no. He has no chance. 😃". It's, for lack of a better term, frustrating. (Absurd)

Instead, maybe you should have dedicated that screen time for the construction of the main leads relationship.

Oh, yes. Another thing since we are talking about the matter.

ML and FL relationship progress got weaker and weaker since she had started to spy on Si Oh. And then one episode was like "Oh, yeah, forgot to tell you, they are actually dating by now" Bom, a kiss. If I need a kiss to know they are in love, there's something going on back there. Something lacking.

Scenes of them in love: well acted, nice, cute, cool, okay. But it is like picking a random romance book and start reading it ten chapters ahead, they are in love, but how this did happen??? Last time I saw them, they were in a friends-and-some-more zone.

Where's the progress?

I know where is it. In the fake relationship, that it was being used just to turn Si Oh into a complete monster with probably not chance of going back.

"You have suffered a lot, yeah, I see. Anyway here's more pain. Suffer more and go cause some trouble because if not, there's, apparently, no plot"

I'll Look After You - Part 4 - Bucky x Y/N

I just had to write more of this! It's always going on in my head I had to type it out. Thanks so much for all the likes on the previous parts. This is my first time writing so I'm nowhere near as good as most writers on here. Anyways, here we get the moment I'm sure you've been waiting for.

Bucky knew, with absolute certainty, that he was dead. When people spoke of Heaven they mentioned warmth, relaxation, peace. They talked about soft clouds and a feeling of bliss. If that was all true, then Bucky was certainly in Heaven. In which case; John 'Bucky' Egan, for all intents and purposes, was dead.

The last thing he remembered before his death was the sweet sound of Y/N's voice and the taste of vanilla frosting on his tongue. What had happened after that? Did the gods finally say 'It's time John.' and call him home? What would they tell his Ma? What about Buck? He couldnt think too much on that right now, he was basking in pure and utter bliss. There he lay, in his small bed in the infirmary, with Y/N's head on his chest as she slept. Yes, this is Heaven. He thought. With the slightest turn of his head he could smell her hair. Just like the fowers in Ma's garden. He did his best not to move, not to even breathe too much, incase he would disturb her and burst his perfect bubble. He wasn't a fool. He knew Y/N certainly did not intend for this to happen. Tiredness clearly overtook her before she had the chance to move to her quarters or somewhere else more appropriate to sleep. But here she was in his arms, head on his chest. If someone came in here right now and shot him in the head; he would die happy.

When she started to wake, the first thought in her mind was that whatever hard surface she was lying on, it was not her pillow. No, this hard, chisled, impossibly warm surface was not her pillow at all. Confusion filled her brain until she slowly opened her eyes, looked up and were met with two blue eyes staring back at her. 'Oh my God!' She lept from the bed suddenly, the harsh movement hurting Bucky's ribs. 'Easy doll, its just me.' 'What am I doing here? What time is it? Oh my god I'm still in last nights clothes!' She was panicked. She was to start her shift in an hour, and she hadnt even made it to bed! What would her roommates think? What would the other nurses say? If anyone saw her in John Egans cubicle wearing last nights clothes... she may as well find the nearest river and jump. 'Relax, you just fell asleep thats all. I think it was a rather lovely way to end our date.' She spun on her heel. 'It was not a date! I was just wanting to help you sleep.' She put on her shoes as fast as she could. 'Well it worked, I slept like a baby.' He was teasing her, wanting her to tease him back. Wanting that beautiful smile of hers to appear and take the worry from her face. 'I never should have slept here. I have work in an hour!' Bucky couldnt help the teasing smile on his face. 'Well good thing you work here.' 'I'm in last nights clothes! I cant be in work in last nights clothes!' 'I don't mind what clothes you wear darling. You look lovely regardless.' That drew a small smile from her. Success. 'I have other patients other than you you know.' 'But I'm your favourite.' He smirked. He liked this. He liked teasing and flirting and having fun. 'I wouldn't go taking any bets on that Major.' she teased him back. 'Well why else would you leave a dance to come see me?' It was then she remembered that she had never told him she was going to the dance. 'How did you know I was at the dance?' His cheeks went red. He panicked. 'You told me yesterday.' 'No I didnt, I was going to, but then you were being cranky. How'd you know?' 'Well I, I may have overheard you speaking with Croz..'

It was like a lightbulb turned on in her brain. He heard her and Harry speaking. He heard Harry ask her to the dance. That's why he knew she was going. He knew she was going with Harry. A second, brighter lightbulb. Thats why he was in such a bad mood yesterday. She tried, really and truely tried, but the laughter was too much for her small body to contain. She burst into a fit of giggles. She tried to speak in between fits of laughter. 'You,... oh my god, you were.... you....jealous!'

The red in Bucky's cheeks spread to every other part of his body. She knew. She knew his bad mood wasnt due to physical therapy, it was because he knew she was going to the dance with Crosby. Bucky almost wished someone would shoot him in the head. How could he live with this? She knew he was jealous, meaning she knew of his feelings for her, and she was laughing at him. Bucky should have known she wouldnt never see herself with him. The thought of him thinking he had even the slightest chance had her struggling to breath through fits of laughter. Still giggling like a schoolgirl, she said to him, 'Harry is a lovely guy...' Yes, he was aware how lovely Croz was. 'But I don't see him in that way.' What? Hope flickered in his chest. 'Oh, then why did-' 'Because he's a nice guy. And I didn't have anyone else to go to the dance with. Nobody has ever even asked me to a dance before.' She tucked her head as to avoid eye-contact. Embarrased by the confession. Bucky was certain she was lying. 'That's impossible. You're stunning. Anyone would be glad to take you anywhere.' Her smile was so wide it almost split her cheeks. 'Well, Harry is the first person to ever actually ask. So I said yes. It was a bad idea though, I was a terrible date for him.' 'I doubt that.' 'Well, it's not much fun being on a date with someone who is thinking of someone else the whole time is it?' Bucky felt his heart race, he didnt want to be too optimistic; but he couldn't help the fluttering butterflies in his stomach. 'And who might that be?' She smiled, and slowly made her way back to his bed. She sat on the edge of his bed.

She knew it was unprofessional, but she passed unprofessional three nights ago when she first slept in that chair by his bedside. She was nervous. Her hands were shaking and she could hear her heart racing. As she sat next to him on the edge of the bed, she felt a magnetic force pull him towards her. She was crossing a lot of boundries, and there was still and chance he would reject her, but she had to do this. She had to do it because she could barely breathe and words were failing her. She leaned closer to him, looking at his perfect ocean blue eyes and his soft lips. Leaning closer and closer, but at a pace slow enough that he could reject her if he wanted to.

This had to be a hallucination. She was moving towards him in a way that could only mean one thing, she was going to kiss him. He couldnt speak, couldnt move, couldnt breathe. He just sat there as her lips found his. It was soft, gentle, like she was afraid of hurting him. Her soft lips like a whisper against his own. He was intoxicated by her. She overcame every one of his senses. Her touch, her smell, her taste. It was all he could think about. He finally was able to snap out of complete shock and kiss her back. Moving his hand to her soft cheek, Bucky deepened the kiss. Still soft, still slow, still absolutely amazing. After god knows how long, they came up for air. Foreheads touching, they smiled at each other lovingly. 'There's only one man I want dancing with me.'

no but SPEAK YOUR TRUTH re: fandom Marichat... I see so much of Angsty Forbidden Lovers Pining Sexily and I am confused??? Why make Chat Noir a strong dark brooding dude (I mean yeah he is brooding but he also is goofy af about it) and Marinette a damsel in distress (she IS dramatic BUT she is also a Disaster Baby Girl and Everyday Ladybug and Literal Ladybug, she can handle herself). It seems like some people need this 'romantic' hetero dynamic so badly to work that they change characterizations that are well established in canon. and like, no shame for that, but I feel like it takes away what is so precious about their relationship/s and the whole love square dynamic. IMO the truth is that Marichat are silly bisexual friends that bicker and go to the movies and sometimes they fake date or practice love confessions. Marinette gives Chat Noir shit but in a friendly way because she doesn't have to be 'professional' and Chat Noir wants to impress Marinette because... you know. Even as Chat Noir he thinks Marinette is brilliant and the funniest person ever. marichat actually contains multitudes and is so fun to work with, think about, and analyze. but they get hit with the no fun straight people beam and suddenly All She Is is some weak helpless girl who can't do anything and needs to be saved and All He Is is some guy who won't stop calling her Princess and like idk growling and. whatever else they want. and then they say stuff like True Selves and act like the other sides are unhealthy and only marichat is healthy or whatever. and then depict them unhealthily. i just dont know man. im like everywhere bro except for like wattpad and i do not wanna know how they depict marichat THERE

in all honesty, marichat AREN'T by default their 'true selves' around each other. obviously this is due to the fact that all sides of the love square have stuff to hide from each other. but i would even go so far as to ascertain that (especially in) Early Stages of marichat interactions, they are trying to portray their most INAUTHENTIC selves and that makes them BRILLIANT

okay so marinette -> she knows chat noir right? very well. but at the same time she CANT show that she knows him well. she has to pretend that hes just some guy. or that shes a bit of a fangirl. very much Expert Pretending To Be Novice vibes. similarly with chat noir -> he totallyyyyy doesn't know this girl all that well either. she CAN'T know that this super cool superhero is actually one of her Good Friends at school. so its like they're both actors in a play but they BOTH think they're the only ones acting. but at the same time, for marinette, the facade starts to fall because she can only pretend this isnt her best friend for so long. the best example of this for me is glaciator 2, where she just starts yelling at chat noir like he's HER chat noir, like she's the one who knows him. the chance of him arguing back drops bc it likely throws him off but is also refreshing bc whoaaa marinette can yell at him like that? only its not the him SHE knows. marinette can yell at him bc she's a little bit insane and also bc he isn't in love with THIS her so he'll be fine!! and he likes it bc he can sense her comfort and also be entertained by it at the same time and its fun getting close to her without her like freaking out and escaping from him. blah blah blah they r in love!!!!!!! but the point is inevitably there are feelings on all sides

i feel as though when the reveal happens none of the sides should be dating tbh. bc that would be too easy. oh yay my gf/bf is also another person i know and love! epic! but imagine if there was pain on every side. some form of feelings, some form of love, some form of heartbreak. thats where we get the part where they have to reconcile that all this pain and failures happened because of all the identities and secrets and their inherent connection and chemistry. they SHOULD feel doubt over whether they were meant to be together at all. and then realize that this couldn't be any more perfect. because they were never meant to choose. and after finding out, they'll never have to

y/n saw a notification pop up on her phone, so she picked it up and read the name of the sender, it was felix. as much as she hated him right now she really couldn't resist looking at the message. she unlocked her phone and opened the app, the message read:

"ik u hate me rn but come to the hill by ur fav restaurant at 7. please be there"

y/n had somewhat of an idea of what this meant, either he was going to talk to her and ask to at least be friends or ask for another chance, and she didn't know wether she was ready to make that decision or not. but she still decided to go because deep down she knew she loved him. a lot.

so there she was, sitting in front of her vanity, the clock read 6:25 pm and she still had no idea of what to wear, and if she should do any makeup. so naturally, she called yunjin.

"hey y/n whats up??" yunjin answered the call and asked

the clock showed 6:45 and y/n realized she had to leave because she barely knew the directions to this place and it would take a while to get there. 'kinda stupid of him to not even send me directions while its night time' but she decided she could talk about that to him later, if things go good. so she thanked yunjin and hung up the phone, grabbed her purse, and left her apartment.

to say that getting to the meeting was hard is an understatement. y/n was sure to yell at him for this. but the whole adventure was so worth it when she got there.

felix looked up from where he was staring at his shoes and breathed a sigh of relief, she even saw a bit of a smile.

y/n kicked the ground beneath her and said "well yea..i mean it would be kinda of rude if i didn't." she scoffed.

"NO. i-i mean..no. i would completely understand if you didn't show up, I was the one who was rude. i acted like such a dick, gosh i am so sorry. god you have no idea how fucking sorry i am. i have no idea what got into me. it's like all of a sudden i had someone controlling my mind or something, i just go so insecure and worried and i feel so stupid for that, i cant believe i trusted that bitch. i just thought that i wasn't enough for you and you were just with me out of pity or something. and i KNOW you wouldn't because thats not you. i feel so bad for calling you a whore, i just got in my own head and wanted to make you feel bad about yourself and i don't know why i would ever want that because i only what you to be happy. i only want you to feel loved and taken care of. so yes, i know i fucked up..REALLY bad. but i swear to god that if you just give me once more chance i will prove to you i'm not that type of guy. so please..take me back?"

okay no im thinking about my vampire chloe and jake au again. this started getting a little long so

they grew up thick as thieves. nothing is going to change the fact that jake and chloe probably know each other better than anyone else. of course they do. jake was the only one who knew chloe's big secret

then of course she saves his life and, by extension, completely changed his life for better or worse (and went back on the one big promise she made when they were kids)

i like to think that turning jake was the first time chloe had ever bitten someone (she's thirteen can she really expect to get away with biting someone?). but know she knows that she has it in her to actually bite someone...

jake has been a vampire for a handful of years and still refuses to bite someone. sure, there are some perks to being a vampire. the speed, the strength, the not really needing human food. but the sun is awful (which sucks because he loves summer and the beach and all that) and he decided to never question exactly where chloe's parents get the blood bags from. he doesn't want to bite anyone

of course, they still go through those rocky patches in their relationship, putting it simply. the conflicting feelings due to the events that altered their relationship. they start dating, and somehow that makes things worse. one of the things that commonly happens during, particularly bad, fights is chloe reminding jake that "You wouldn't even be here if it weren't for me. I saved your fucking life." maybe sometimes jake shoots back with "Maybe you should have just left me to die."

there's this weird thing where jake feels like he could never repay chloe, nothing would ever be enough. even if being like this was not what he wanted. he never wanted this life. this life was for the valentines. not for him

halloween happens and before anyone can stop him, jake is running back for rich and chloe is screaming after him. he doesn't listen. they have something in common, they wouldn't dare let someone they love die when they can do something about it

rich is never awake when jake goes to visit him. he could never decide if that was a good thing or a bad thing. maybe it would be a good thing because if rich were awake, he might notice the look on jakes face (and rich knows him so well, every small change never seems to go unnoticed from rich's eyes) and jake imagines how that scenario would go: rich would ask him what he's thinking about and he wouldn't take 'nothing' or 'its not important' as an answer, he'd call bullshit on every lie jake tried to spin. and jake wouldn't be able to help but tell him the truth that "I want to make you like me so that I know you can't die on me." but he won't. rich doesn't wake up and jake never admits it out loud (can he even turn anyone? he doesn't know).

maybe rich and jake are still on rocky terms when rich finds out jake isn't human anymore. maybe jake pushed chloe away after halloween, stopped showing up at the valentine's like usual. (carmen and sebastian valentine ask "what happened to jakob?" and "why doesn't Jakob come around anymore?" and "it's been a while since jakob's been over, is everything okay?" and "we're getting worried about Jakob, you should tell him to come and visit. we have things to give him"). jake's run out of the blood bags from chloe's parents and he hasn't eaten in a while. he's been snapping more at almost everyone. (chloe tries to talk to him and rich thinks its because of him, but jake has been pushing everyone away lately so they can't be sure). jake might not know rich, but rich certainly knows jake. and, god, rich cant stand being pushed away without being given a chance (jake can be mad at him, and rich wouldn't blame him if jake never stopped being mad at him. he just wanted a chance to apologise). jake is hungry and rich is just there trying to talk to him. jake is trying to stay as far away from rich as possible, inching towards a door to make his escape. he doesn't want to bite rich, he doesn't want to be a monster (he'd said that once before, and that definitely caused a fight between him and chloe).

rich is pleading for jake to talk to him and jake is covering his mouth and nose, shaking his head. jake backs away every time rich tries to get closer and god that hurts but rich backs jake into a corner. he's trying to be careful, he's trying to be gentle. it happens so fast that neither of them can explain what happened. a momentary lapse of control before rich is on the floor and jake is on the other side of the room. rich can still feel the sensation of jake being so close to his neck. confessions begin to tumble from jake's mouth. he's shaking, he's scared, he's starving. rich is slow, and hesitant. very very hesitant. he creeps closer to jake who flinches when he realises just how close rich has gotten. rich's voice is soft, jake hasn't heard that softness in so long. rich offers to let jake feed off him.

brooke and chloe have a lot to mend as well. one of the things they start with is being completely honest with each other. something they haven't been in a long time. (or maybe never in chloe's case, hiding such a big secret from someone so important to her. she's terrified of losing brooke, she was terrified of losing jake). its a long heart to heart, a long awaited heart-to-heart after chloe spent so long refusing to apologise. they spill secrets they never shared, things they never had the courage to say. brooke could tell there was something chloe wanted to say. it was sitting on the tip of her tongue, waiting to come out. brooke knew better than to outright demand chloe do something, so she tried to coax it out of her gentle. it's nothing like telling jake, (and its nothing compared to how rich found out). but chloe tells her. brooke thinks she's lying. brooke gets mad. she blows up at chloe, yelling at her for how ridiculous this lie is and why can't chloe be honest? how can she trust chloe if chloe can't tell the truth? chloe sits there and takes it. she waits until brooke's quiet before she stands. she takes brooke's hand and gently leads her to the mirror. she stands behind brooke as they look at their reflections.

or brooke's reflection.

"Oh shit..." is brooke's quiet response.

brooke turns around and looks at chloe. she takes a really good look at chloe. she carefully brushes chloe's hair out of her face. it's such a soft gesture yet chloe is still terrified. but brooke just smiles.

"I just hope you ask before biting me."

thinking about clara telling 12 he made courtney feel not special and 12 at the end of the lie of the land telling bill “because in amongst seven billion, theres someone like you” and bill looking like

and 11 telling rita in the god complex "offer a child a suitcase full of sweets and they’ll take it. offer someone all of time and space and they’ll take that too. which is why you shouldnt” in that fucking self-flagellating but also proud way they do and rita says “i dont know what youre talking about but whatever it is, i have a feeling you just did it again” because they did

they know they know they know what they do and clara didnt have to tell them theyve been doing this long enough they know. and they dont like it but theyre not gonna stop doing it either which must be Great for the self-worth feelings. they have a job to do and they cant stop doing it but they also cant do it alone but also anyone they take with them will most likely get hurt or die

this is nothing new but it’s just. im thinking about the way they do it. the way they absolutely know the effect they have on people. “you make people want to impress you. you make it so they dont want to let you down”

how casually 12 throws out that line, so genuine, i 100% believe it feels true when they say stuff like that, but also bill just had a Bad 6 months. he didnt have to say this. bill asked why he puts up with humans he could say something nice about humanity as a whole, but he doesnt, he singles her out, “i put up with the rest of them because sometimes theres someone like you”. it’s sweet and i dont think it’s a lie and i dont even think it’s a conscious manipulation but like

it’s just like, a really good way to keep people with you when you make them feel like theyre at the centre of the universe like that. the universe revolves around the doctor and when youre in the eye of the storm with them youre so special. you know more than regular people, you get to know all the secrets of the universe, you get to know about aliens, you get to play hero along with them!

being the object of the doctor’s affection is i think probably a bit of a horrifying experience and not a position you really want to be in, but as long as youre still in that Comments About How Theyre Putting Up With All Of Humanity Because They Like You stage and havent yet reached the Tearing The Sky Apart For You stage, it probably feels really good (do i look susceptible to companion syndrome in this post hkfjghj)

and like i said it’s not that they dont actually love their companions. of course they do. it’s just that if youre terrified of being abandoned, making people feel special like this is a good way to make them not leave you

and i think 13 probably did her best not to do this again. she didnt invite them along to new adventures at the end of 11x1. she initiates goodbyes i think three times (”ive stayed too long, i should get back to finding my tardis”, “im almost gonna miss you”, “guess we’re done, nice having you aboard”) before the fam ask to come with her

and sure she plays the kicked puppy a bit in 11x4 but she waits for yaz to invite her, shes relatively passive, actually for the doctor shes incredibly passive. and she enjoys letting them into the tardis in 11x2, but she doesnt tease really secrets and wonders if they come travel with her. she doesnt really introduce them to the tardis, she doesnt say what the name means, she doesnt let them touch anything, nobody says “it’s bigger on the inside”, she doesnt invite them to all of time and space. she doesnt suggest it could be theirs to see. i dont think she ever does. just what the fam got to see accidentally was already enough to convince them.

i really need to rewatch so i might be wrong about this, but i dont think she ever makes them feel special the same way the doctor did with companions before. she makes them feel special like a tour guide maybe, with her little points and stars system, and calling them best friends, small mundane ways that dont show off her age or history or influence. i dont think she ever suggests theyre more important than other people. i think she emphasises her love for humans as a whole. i think thats the impression they get from her. i think thats what they would say if you asked them about her. “yeah she loves humanity. me? yeah she probably likes me, we’re friends”

she never puts them in a position where theyre the only one who can save the day/world/planet/universe. she always puts herself between them and the problem. she always goes ‘no im the doctor, thats my job’. she takes that responsibility so they dont have to. they take it! when they feel like theyre forced to! when the doctor’s gone in 12x2 or 12x10, they take that responsibility for sure. i think they want to, not just yaz but especially yaz. but they feel unprepared. the doctor hasnt prepared them for this bc she doesnt want them in that position bc in that position they die.

and clearly this has not been ideal. this has not led to an ideal doctor-companion dynamic, we’ve seen how this has hurt 13 as well as especially i think yaz and ryan deeply. but the strategy has been succesful. she lost her last two companions bc she didnt get between them and the problem. with bill literally, with clara metaphorically. (going back even further this might also be the case for amy and donna and rose. she let them into positions she should have been in taking decisions she should have taken)

and however badly things have gone for 13, the strategies of Get Between Them And The Problem, and Be The Doctor Dont Let Them Do It, have WORKED. she GOT THEM HOME. if yaz doesnt die, and im willing to bet money she doesnt, she got them all home safe and sound

14′s relationship with their companions will probably be a response to what went wrong in this round and it will have its own pitfalls that 15 then gets to fix but theyre trying, theyre learning. one step forward two steps back i guess. a fun little tango with death
