(How the hell do you start a oneshot on tumblr? I'm confused. Don't read it panic attacks trigger you) It was just abnormal day for the ginger. David had already been through the movements, keeping the camp in somewhat of a livable state. Gwen sat at the edge of the clearing, her face buried in a magazine. David looked over the crowd of milling campers, walking about doing what they do. The ginger saw something. Everything else went blurry, his eyes went wide and his face fell. There stood in the crowd of children, the familiar face of his old friend. David blinked at Jasper was gone, but just the glimpse had brought David to tears. Large hot tears rolled out of his eyes in the memory of his old friend. He shivered, clearing his throat and calling to Gwen. "Look after the campers for a moment," he spoke, his voice sounding strained. Without waiting for an answer, he ran back to the counselor's cabin, throwing himself into his room, gripping his bandanna and sobbing. He took a shaky breath and ran to his bedside drawer, digging through it frantically. He looked closer and found the bottle of medication , sadly labeled 'friend pills'. He opened his and turned it over to dump into his hand, only nothing fell out. He sputtered, his eyes still full of tears. He looked inside of the bottle, finding it empty. He sobbed again, chucking the bottle at the cabins' wall. He clung to the shirt around his neck, completely breaking down. He fell to his knees, sobbing loudly. He wasn't thinking about anything except the terrible memories of Jasper. The last moments, the time he saw the boy fall into the lake. The struggle. Mr.Cambell. Jasper. Jasper. Jasper. Jasper Jasper Jasper. He didn't realize that he was saying those words out loud until he heard a voice behind him. "David," Gwen spoke softly with worry. David stood, grimace on his face. "I t-thought you were watching the camper-" he sobbed. "They're fine David," She said soothingly. "But are you?" She looked worried. He shuddered, shaking his head as more tears fell out of his eyes. "I-I ran out of pills-" Gwen sighed and nodded. David sobbed again, holding his arms close. Gwen took a step forward and hugged the man, whispering in his ear. "It's going to be okay."
