unpopular take: the hacksmith is not a science channel
it is a workshop/art channel, but it teaches very little actual science, and has actually perpetuated pseudoscience in the past such as the uberman sleep cycle a few years ago and some stuff about body types that is complete bs. also it is kind of a lot of wealth flaunting.
These guys are insane, and this is amazing, and seriously, at least check out the last ten minutes where they take it to various movie theater parking lots and show it off
Anyone want the Hacksmith to make stuff from Titanfall? It'd be epic, probably take at least 4 years because the aliens power loader thing took 3. Or even a jumpkit, it'd also tie in with the flying like iron Man thing.

Modern day AU Junkrat (er. Jamison) only has one realistic career path and that's "insane homemade engineer youtuber" or whatever you call that "genre" of channel. Colin Furze, Hacksmith, Allen Pan, I Did A Thing... probably most accurately that last one honestly, though iirc Colin Furze actually did make a Rip-Tire IRL a few years back. Honestly I think "Junkrat" works as an alias in this context too. He's trying to make a job out of it but for some reason sponsors aren't super interested having their logo painted onto scrap metal exploding, but he doesn't budge on this being part of the ad read. Honestly can't decide if he's lost his limbs in this AU too or if they're just perpetually bandaged or in a cast for... obvious reasons.
Mako's the cameraman who mostly just likes seeing how Jamison's gizmos explode and is also there to take him to the hospital if needed. He has his own channel but it's just him doing Pachimari unboxings and other little trinket showcases with minimal editing and a messy recording setup, but he still gets views because people just enjoy the big gruff Australian man having such simple glee over squishy toys. His channel's called "Hog's Hoard" or something. He's not monetized or anything, it's all funded by his real job as an automotive shop worker or something, he just does it as a hobby.
Returning to ExtraTerrorestrial concept art, I decided to depict the main cast starting with the lead who I currently named Smith. As mentioned before I'm hesitant to put an actual face on him so casting would be open but I do have a good idea of his personality.
Smith is a brilliant engineer who loves to use his knowledge and skills to recreate famous technology from science fiction to the best of his ability (a tribute to Youtube channels like Hacksmith Inc). Hoping to be recognized for his skills, he attends a technology convention hosted by the alien company X-S Tech. A mishap during a demonstration of teleportation technology inadvertently unleashes an incredibly dangerous creature upon the convention, putting Smith's merits and will to survive to the test.
The bottom left is his welder suit that he normally wears while working on his projects. The bottom middle he is outfitted with a robotic exoskeleton to provide extra protection and strength, particularly when dealing with the recoil of his makeshift railgun (pictured above). The bottom right is his more casual wear. Some technical facts about the railgun is that it's lithium battery powered and possess radiators on either side of the barrel to release waste heat that would be created by firing it.
ExtraTerrorestrial: Alien Encounter belongs to Disney.
It would be dope to do a youtube channel like the Hacksmith but it’s just gunsmith nerds recreating old school guns with modern materials and upgrades. Like every video is a new version of the modern BAR/HCAR for some other ww1/ww2 gun
