Ich hoffe, sie sind am Ende kompetenter als die Chibis.
Pia hat zwar schon viel Geld gesehen, aber gerade fragt sie sich, wie viele Hörnchen man dafür kaufen könnte.
Esther will einfach wissen, wieso Adam so dämlich ist.

hello guess what i have for you....... that’s right another reddie- you guessed it- college au!!!!!
au where richie and eddie aren’t friends, but they happen to sit beside each other in one of their classes...... but neither of them are really happy about it. eddie finds richie extremely distracting- he chews his gum too loud, he hums, not super loud but just loud enough for eddie to hear, he watches youtube videos during lectures, he tries to talk to eddie while eddie is clearly focused, and he’s always asking eddie for his notes because he wasn’t paying attention (he’s also quite cute, but that element of his distraction is a whole other thing for eddie to deal with).
richie also finds it annoying at the amount of times eddie tells him to pay attention in class, when he shushes richie when richie breathes a little too loud for his liking, and especially when he doesn’t share his notes. richie supposes that he could just move far away from eddie’s nagging, but there’s something about the cute way eddie’s face scrunches up when he begrudgingly lets richie take a peek at his notes that makes richie stay where he is.
one day in class, about halfway through the lecture, richie realizes that eddie’s been awfully quiet. it isn’t until richie finishes obnoxiously eating a whole, very crunchy, apple that he looks over to see that eddie has fallen asleep, his notebook blank, his pen still in his hand. he finds it amusing at first, considering waking eddie up to remind him to pay attention in class, when he thinks of something.
with the way eddie has always been such a hardass about focusing in class, for him to have fallen asleep mid-lecture must mean that he’s exhausted, that he needs the rest. besides, he looks so at peace, richie thinks. he decides to leave eddie in his beauty sleep, and pays extra attention to his professor as he jots down notes.
an hour later, eddie wakes up in a panic to the sound of hustle and bustle around him. he opens his eyes to see his professor shutting off the powerpoint, and his classmates packing up their things and leaving. he looks down at his table, and sees the empty page of his notebook. his heart sinks- he missed a whole lecture! all because he’s been forcing himself to stay up late all this week, he hasn’t been getting enough sleep, and he was just so exhausted that he couldn’t stay awake in class. he starts to panic, wondering how he’s going to get caught up making its way to the top of his list of concerns- when a notebook flops onto his desk.
he looks down at it, and sees the pages filled with detailed notes from the day’s lecture. he recognizes the messy handwriting, and looks to his side to see richie shrugging his jacket on as he gathers his things. “morning, sleeping beauty,” richie teases. “you’ve got quite a lot to catch yourself up on. return the notebook by next class, alright?”
it takes eddie a moment to process, but when he takes another look down at the notebook, it hits him: richie is giving eddie his notes. eddie feels slightly embarrassed that their roles have reversed, but mostly incredibly grateful. he turns to thank richie, but when he does the other boy is already heading out the class, looking back one last time to send eddie a grin before walking out the door.
eddie feels his cheeks flush as he takes the notebook from the desk. maybe sitting next to richie isn’t so bad after all.

Ranking My Favorite Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) Songs
Twenty-two songs. Five hours. One helpless, JCS-obsessed tumblr user who has so many other things they could be doing with their time. Get ready!
Disclaimers: I'm going to try to base my ranking on the soundtrack alone, but for some numbers, I really can't separate the song from the visuals. I won't be including "The Crucifixion" or "John 19:41," since those don't really count imo. The former, I will say, has some of my favorite chaos jazz that's ever been produced, so I'll give it that. Also! I LOVE this musical, and I LOVE this movie. Even the lowest songs have made it onto my playlists once or twice. So if I bash your fav, don't be too offended <3
22. Peter’s Denial - This one is really only low on the list because of how short it is. All things considered, I really like that funky little intro. Also, I think Mary, Peter, and whoever that third guy in the scene is with them (John??) would make a good throuple YEAH I SAID IT.
21. Hosanna - I don’t know why I’m putting this one so low, either. It’s very fun and pleasant to listen to, and it’s got some great ensemble work, which is always something I jive with. I guess it’s just not as captivating to me as some of the other songs in this film. I actually like some other versions of this song better than the 1973 one (!!) Nevertheless, this song is genuinely really good and it shows that, hey, Jesus can smile!
20. Then we are Decided - This is the only production of the musical I’m aware of that contains this song. I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it’s a great song. I don’t know if ALW+Tim Rice are physically capable of collaboratively making a bad song. Also, I love Bob Bingham and Kurt Yaghjians’ voices, so anytime I get to hear them, I’m happy. On the other hand, I can see why this one was taken out of most productions. It wasn’t in the original concept album, and it kind of breaks up the story. It does provide extra context for Caiaphas’s motivation, but it doesn’t say much that isn’t reiterated in “This Jesus Must Die.” There just really isn’t a place for it in most productions, which is such a shame. At least we got this amazing screengrab out of it. Annas, you creepy little shit, I love you.
Tumblr media
19. Pilate’s Dream - It took me far too long to recognize that this is the same song as the second part of “Poor Jerusalem,” which is funny given that they are right next to each other in the movie. I love the acoustic guitar in this one, and Barry Dennen is seriously one of the most subtly expressive actors I’ve seen. You could watch this scene 1,000 times and still be picking up new context on your 1,001st viewing. As far as the song goes, it’s a very nice introduction to Pilate’s character. Also, I think that discordant “Pilate” the chorus sings at the end doesn’t get enough praise.
18. King Herod’s Song - First of all, the way this scene just. 1) Inserts itself into the film 2) Refuses to elaborate 3) Leaves. I love it. I love how uncomfortable Herod’s whisper singing makes me, I love his campy friends, everything about this scene is amazing. It’s an absolute 180 in terms of tone, but I kind of love it for that.
17. I Don’t Know How to Love Him - I find it interesting that the most popular song from this soundtrack is also what many consider to be the most boring. Personally, I find the song very beautiful and fascinating, but I can see why it’s skippable for some. I’m just a massive fan of Yvonne Elliman. I think the only people that have come close to her version are Helen Reddy and Sara Bareilles. Also, I like to read this song as someone rediscovering their own self-worth through love after experiencing trauma from past relationships, which I think is a very relatable struggle.
16. Pilate and Christ - Pilate is just. So sassy. What’s most impressive about this performance is that Barry Dennen considered himself an actor first and a singer second. His acting is certainly spot-on, but his singing is pretty fantastic as well! The tension between Pilate and Jesus in this scene almost rivals that of Jesus and Judas… almost.
15. Overture - An overture is meant to provide the audience with a bit of musical context for what they’re about to hear. This piece does a very good job at that. The electric guitars immediately invoke intrigue- then the horns come in, then the strings and percussion get going, and at this point, any viewer of this film would be hard-pressed not to be at least a little excited. Then the “Heaven on Their Minds” riff starts, and I, for one, was instantly hooked. I especially like the violin bit near the end. The chorus wordlessly mimicking what will be Judas’ sung betrayal is chilling. The whole thing is a beautiful combination of rock music and traditional broadway styling, which is a good description of the rock opera in general.
14. The Arrest - I really like the leitmotif that is used whenever Jesus is overwhelmed by a crowd. It was used with the temple-goers, the lepers, and now with his own people that have turned against him (and some who cautiously maintain their support for him). Also, like Matt Berry said, the “Now we have him, now we’ve got him” bit of the song is pretty bone-chilling.
13. Could We Start Again Please? - I really like this song. I know it wasn’t in the original concept album, but its placement actually makes sense, and Ms. Elliman, naturally, sounds heavenly. The melody of this song is really nice, and it doesn’t sound at all out of place in the movie.
12. What’s the Buzz/Strange Thing Mystifying - This is one of those songs that’s hard not to move around to. It’s just so much fun! It also is Jesus’s first physical and vocal appearance, and WOW. Neeley is a truly underrated 70s rock singer. His voice is impeccably strong and gorgeous. He’s somehow been criticized for this role (mostly by angry Catholics) for being too untouchable and emotionless. I just can’t agree with that. Did any of those reviewers even listen to the movie they were watching? Neeley’s far-off gaze is not something he can change, and I for one think it adds to the character. He provides what I think is the best portrayal of Jesus Christ in any production of JCS. Besides that, the ensemble is doing great here, too! I promised not to get too involved in the visuals for this ranking, but I have to mention the movements in this scene. The apostles and women are just so jumpy and full of energy. It really makes the scene fun to watch. And Mary! I’m a long-time fan of Yvonne Elliman, and she was the only person I knew of beforehand going into this film. Her voice is so mature and unique, which is perfect for the role of Mary. She was the initial performer of this role in the concept album, the broadway show, and the film, and it shows. This role belongs to her. Obviously, it’s a bit annoying that we got yet another portrayal of Mary as an ex-sex-worker, but if we got “Strange Thing Mystifying” out of it, I can’t be too mad. Judas really gives off jealous bitch vibes here, but he does make some good points.
11. Everything’s Alright - Oh Yvonne, who allowed you to steal my heart? Seriously, she sounds so, so lovely in this song. This song is so calming. It uses a 5/4 time signature, which gives it distinction. The contrast between the cool comfort of Mary’s voice and the angsty gravel of Judas’ voice is very striking. Both Judas and Jesus hit some insanely difficult belts here, and they do so flawlessly. This scene also expands on the relationship between Judas and Jesus, which is jam-packed with not-entirely-heterosexual intensity. As the chorus repeats the titular line at the end with increasing volume and intensity, we get the distinct impression that everything is, in fact, not alright.
10. The Last Supper - I could go either way on the apostle’s part. It’s good, and it has some good harmonies in the latter parts, and it also reminds me of John Denver somehow? Anyway, the mellow gold aesthetic is one of my favs, but that’s not why I love this song. The absolute release of tension that is the fight between Jesus and Judas is captivating. My head moves as if I’m watching a heated tennis match when these two get going. I’ve seen versions of their interaction that just don’t go well on stage because the parts require so much energy and intensity, and sometimes they have this, but it just doesn’t sound good. But since this is a film, we can be confident that we are seeing and hearing the best takes from the actors. In this version, I can feel the heat between J and J, but they also sound fucking amazing while arguing. Their final interaction tugs at my heart. And these two actors portray their relationship with such authenticity that it’s almost hard to watch any other version without holding this up as the standard. Also, fun fact: they separate at exactly 1 hour into the film.
9. This Jesus Must Die - I have a big crush on both Caiaphas and Annas. Their voices just mesh so well together; Annas has these Al Stewart-like whimsical vocals, and Caiaphas has this deep, sexy growl. (I have a raging hard-on for good bass voices if you couldn’t tell). They sometimes put baritone singers in this role, which just doesn’t really work. This part needs a man who sounds like he just came out of the black lagoon and desperately needs a drink. Along with how it sounds, the lyrics of this song are super clever. The “Jesus is Cool” line is an inside joke in the community- they removed it from many popular productions, which is disappointing as hell. It’s one of the best lines in the song! Anyway, as far as “villain” songs go, this one is top-tier for sure.
8. Damned for all Time/Blood Money - I love me some good Judas angst. But in all seriousness, this song is ridiculously hard to sing. It would be enough with the sheer number of words sung in quick succession, but it is also written in a pretty high register. I, as a female alto, struggle to comfortably reach some of the notes, but Carl Anderson, of course, does it flawlessly. Of course, I’m also obsessed with Caiaphas and Annas, so any song they’re in makes me kick my feet like a schoolgirl. This scene, being the turning point in the show, makes its mark and has impeccable pacing for such a chaotic number.
7. Judas’ Death - Carl Anderson is a performer. I felt everything Judas felt in this scene. His reprise of “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” is impossible to look away from or tune out. When I first watched this scene, I didn’t know Judas was going to reprise the fucking love ballad. My jaw was on the floor the whole time. Other actors sometimes make this part sound ugly and raw, which is fine, but emotion can be portrayed while singing while still sounding good. That’s what really gets me about this version. You can feel the raw emotion, and yet you can’t deny how good the singing is. I also didn’t know Judas was going to straight up hang himself, and that kind of shocked me. To think this movie was rated G back in the day!
6. Simon Zealotes/Poor Jerusalem - Oh man. I’ve gotta be careful here if I want to keep my ranking based on sounds alone, cause this scene is just visually AMAZING. I might make a post about how much I adore this scene- the choreography, the craftsmanship, the absolutely iconic shots, the goofy ass freeze frames- I just love it all so much. The song is nothing to sneeze at, either. It feels like something you’d hear in one of those fun-loving, joyful churches that promote same-sex marriage. Larry Marshall has such a cool voice; you can tell he really put his all into it. Apparently, he initially tried to reign it in so as to respect the source material, but Norman Jewison just told him to go all out. So that’s what he did. It makes for a damn good number. As for “Poor Jerusalem,” I love hearing Ted Neeley’s softer voice. When he reaches into his falsetto, it sends shivers up my spine.
5. The Temple - I love a good ⅞ song. Additionally, I love a good ensemble song. In addition to that addition, I love seeing Jesus go off and flip tables and shit. But that’s not why this one is so high on my list. This song skyrockets up my personal ranking due to what happens between the temple and the leper scenes, when Neeley scream-sings “MY TEMPLE SHOULD BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER, BUT YOU HAVE MADE IT A DEN OF THIEVES! GET OUT! GET OUT!” I get actual chills every time I listen to him do that. I also really like the way the leper scene ramps up musically. It starts off slow and creepy, and ends in a wholly claustrophobic panic-inducing chant. The harmonies are also very pleasing.
4. Trial Before Pilate - This song is a masterclass in rock opera composition. Barry Dennen’s performance is absolutely, without a doubt, the most incredible embodiment of this role that I’ve seen. Pilate’s songs were essentially made for him, because like Ms. Elliman, he was the first to play his respective role. I genuinely don’t know how he was able to perform Pilate night after night on tour, because this role is supremely demanding vocally. You can tell he is a professional, though, because you can’t just scream at the top of your lungs every night without good technique. I could say a lot more about this one, but I’ll save that for another time.
3. Superstar - I really wish the little guitar intro was kept in future versions of this song. (How many times can I talk about guitar intros in this ranking??) This song is SO! MUCH! FUN! I have to take a second to talk about the cinematography in this scene… it’s really something else. It mayyyy have influenced the ranking, just a bit. Nonetheless, it’s Carl Anderson singing, so of course, this song sounds stupendous. He hits those high notes like it’s nothing. Also, I have to say: this number is very clearly directly influenced by motown-style music, and hearing a black man singing it just feels right. In fact, rock as a genre can be traced back to music created and sustained by black folks. It makes sense that my favorite versions of this musical involve diverse casts. Anyway, I really like this song because of how direct it is with its message. It’s not only Judas asking these things of Jesus, but us as the audience. Why would he put himself in such a bad position? How could he let it get this out of hand? Did he lose his message along the way? Contemplative shit like that set to a 70’s disco dance scene has me losing my mind, and I’m absolutely in love with it.
2. Gethsemane - I was considering putting this song lower, both to piss off my discord friends and because I genuinely enjoy listening to other songs from this soundtrack more, but I just had to give it a high-ranking spot. By this point you must be well aware of my love for Ted Neeley and his rock-god voice, but he really, truly steps it up here. It says a lot that he is still able to perform this song at almost 80 years old. He cares about what he’s doing. A lot. And while I’m not religious, some of my favorite music comes from religious people simply because they believe they are singing for something bigger than themselves. I strive to achieve that passion with my own voice and music, and I believe it can be done without a connection to a higher being. You just have to trust your own voice and focus on your message/role, and Mr. Neeley does not fail on this front. All of this, and he hits the g5 note perfectly. He seriously sounds so goddamn amazing and I’m tired of people saying he’s overrated. Give this man the respect he deserves.
1. Heaven on Their Minds - I could gush about Carl Anderson’s performance of this song for hours, and I mean HOURS. Not only does he completely embody the role of Judas, but he sounds damn good while doing it. He combines this gravelly rasp with clean, clear notes, and every belt is perfectly executed. The agonized fade-out at the end is not something that’s really possible on-stage, so I appreciate it all the more in the movie. This was the first song in the musical that I saw in full, and it’s really what started my obsession. Even though HOTM is a nearly perfect musical theater/rock song, it was Mr. Anderson’s performance of it that got to me.  To me, he IS Judas whenever he’s on screen. His voice is just… spectacular. Additionally, as an agnostic person, the lyrics in this song really resonate with me. “You’ve begun to matter more than the things you say” instantly became one of my favorite lines in musical theater upon first listen. Like I said, I could go on and on about this one, so I’ll just go ahead and stop myself here.
FINALLY! DONE! Whoo, that took much longer than expected (probably because I kept getting distracted) but I had a lot of fun making it. Lemme know your thoughts/opinions/insults/threats in the comments/reblogs/tags <3

INTEREST CHECK & ACTIVITY CHANGES!
Don't worry, we haven't forgotten activity checks! Lindsey and I have been working behind the scenes at ironing out some changes to how we do activity checks, to give you guys a little more leniency while allowing us to stay on top of things with less stress / guilt.
Starting on Monday, May 8th, our activity requirements will be changing. Any account inactive for two weeks will be automatically unfollowed. Accounts that are inactive for one week, display inconsistent activity and/or are not replying to open starters will be warned. Checks will be done twice a month -- once at the beginning/end, and once in the middle. That should give people plenty of time in between and also a little more structure. I will have a more detailed post on this on Monday, as well as adjusting our rules then, so if you have any questions, please ask!
Another thing that we are introducing at this point in time is our 'extended reserve for future use' section, in which players can now reserve one face that they plan on developing a character around. Only one, however! We don't want to encourage face hogging, and if a significant amount of time passes, we will reach out to check and see if you're still moving forward with said character. We know (from our own current experiences!) that it can sometimes take much, much longer than one week to properly research and develop a character, and want to extend that courtesy to our writers.
So! To get everyone on the same page and with a fresh, clean start, we are giving everyone this weekend to contact us and interact with this post. If you are good to go, just like it, we'll cross you off the list and your roles are yours. If you need to drop or swap, or pause anyone, or make any changes, let us know! Happy to help.
PLEASE LIKE THIS POST TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOU'VE READ IT AND WOULD LIKE TO KEEP YOUR ROLES!

Junior Wheeler survives & where he’s been headcanons
Thanks to all the long talks with some of my online friends about Junior secretly being alive and what his role could be in season 2, it has now led to me writing a headcanons list based on that. If you guys like this, maybe I’ll write an actual one-shot or even full on fic based on these headcanons or as a sequel, so please let me know if you’d like that and what you think of these headcanons!
Tagging people I think might be interested in reading this: @arthurpendragonlove @streets-in-paradise @teoandtommy @reddie-as-ill-ever-be @lostgirluver @tiffany-lee-ray
Warnings: Mentions of eating issues, mentions of suicidal thoughts, some swearing
Word count: 2K words
Summary: Junior survived getting stabbed by Chucky and moves to live in with his mom’s side of the family. He doesn’t tell anyone that he’s alive and just tries to live the rest of his life in peace and forget everything that’s happened. But when rumors of Chucky starting to resurface, Junior realizes that he has to warn his former friends and cousin before it’s too late.
Notes: Takes place after the finale of season 1 until probably somewhere in the beginning of season 2, based on @teoandtommy ‘s theory that it was actually Junior on the phone with Jake and not Chucky and then spiraled after a long conversation with @arthurpendragonlove , Junior’s new name/surname and names of Bree’s side of the family will remain a secret but will be revealed if/when I write a sequel, Junior is my own personal interpretation of how his character arc could evolve after everything that’s happened to him, this took about two days to write and has not been proofread because I don’t have the mental capacity to proofread everything I write until it’s too late, might not be medically accurate but I wanted Junior to be alive cause I said so.
~Junior barely survived getting stabbed in the chest by Chucky.
~He was airlifted to another hospital a few towns over where he had surgery. The blade of the butcher knife had grazed his heart but it wasn’t deep enough to kill him as Chucky had intended.
~Junior’s uncle, his mother’s brother, was the one who came to see him in the hospital. Junior hadn’t seen his uncle in years due to his father having problems with him. His uncle would always try to warn Bree about the kind of person Logan was until Logan forbid her from keeping contact with her own brother. Junior barely even remembered his uncle until he showed up.
~His uncle stayed with him everyday at the hospital during his recovery. Junior got to know his uncle more, being weary and untrusting of him before slowly warming up.
~He had to stay in the hospital for a few weeks until he mostly recovered. Since the blade of the knife did graze his heart, it resulted in some issues where too much stress or anger or adrenaline could make him go into cardiac arrest. This certainly wasn’t easy since Junior’s nightmares and pent up rage would cause his heart to beat too fast. He has to take medication to ensure that he won’t have a heart attack during one of these episodes.
~Junior still made jokes about how it looked like his track career was over now when he found out about his heart problems. But it wasn’t fully a joke, he was happy to no longer be forced to do cross-country and actually have to take to easy.
~Junior never once tried to contact his cousin, best friend, or ex-girlfriend. After everything that happened, Junior wanted to forget. He wanted to forget about Chucky, to forget about his mom dying, to forget about killing his father. He wanted everything to go away. And Junior convinced himself that Jake, Devon, and Lexy were better off believing that he was dead and out of their lives forever. He didn’t want to keep bringing them pain.
~So Junior started going by his middle name instead and used his mother’s maiden name/his uncle’s surname. He wanted to let Junior Wheeler die and allow a new person to be born. One that would make all the right decisions and never hurt anyway. That was all that he wanted.
~His uncle seemed to understand that his nephew wanted little to nothing to do with his former life and took him under his care. Junior moved in with him and his aunt across the country to the state of Washington, ready to start something new.
~Junior struggled for a while to find his footing. He was still uneasy around everyone, feeling like they were going to use or manipulate him just as his father and Chucky had. But the more time he spent with his uncle and aunt and their children, the more he realized that they actually cared about him. And Junior enjoyed his uncle’s stories about his and his mother’s childhood. It was like she was still alive and he felt like he got to know her a little bit more each time.
~Slowly but surely, he started getting better. Junior began going to therapy and it did a lot to help with his mental state. He began doing things he never thought he’d end up doing because of his father, getting guitar lessons and even started writing songs. Junior never shared them, but they helped get whatever repressed feelings he still had. He even started experimenting with his hair, growing it out and getting blonde highlights. He grew closer with his mom’s side of the family, getting to know them and all of his new cousins.
~It was strange having new cousins, but he loved all of them. They were all younger than him and became attached to Junior quite quickly. He’d be lying if he said that he didn’t enjoy playing with them, reading them bedtime stories and doing the voices, or helping them with their homework.
~Of course, he still had days where he struggled a lot. Junior had nightmares of his mother’s death frequently and sometimes tried his hardest not to sleep at all. He also was still learning how to eat in normal portions and not count the calories or sugar content. His father always restricted how much Junior ate and it was something he was working through to unlearn. And sometimes he had a tendency to lash out at his uncle when he started to get too vulnerable rather than open up. Junior apologized each time this happened, which was never an easy thing to do, and his uncle always forgave him.
~There have also been moments where Junior wished that he had actually been killed by Chucky just so he could be with his mom again. He never told anyone about this darker thoughts, not wanting to be sent to a psych ward, so he kept them to himself or told dark jokes about them.
~And despite the ups and downs, after a several months, Junior began to grow happy and feel almost at home…
~But he was still held back by the memories of Jake, Devon, and Lexy, memories that refused to leave.
~Junior remember each time Jake looked at him with hurt eyes when he started bullying him, filled with so much anger because of his father that he had to take it out on his own cousin.
~He remembered the look of confusion and fear in Devon’s eyes when he was tied up and gagged to a chair, realizing that Junior was working with a serial killer doll and his wife.
~And Junior remembered Lexy’s eyes filling with tears and pain when he was dying in her arms before fading out, the last thing he remembered feeling was her warm tears hitting his cheeks. Then the world went dark and he woke up in a hospital.
~Sometimes he tried stalking them on social media, but the others barely posted anymore. Junior didn’t know how they were truly doing and he didn’t have the balls to fully reach out to them to see if they were doing good. He’d type in their numbers but then quickly delete them out of fear.
~His aunt would sometimes try to convince Junior to contact at least one of them, but he would refuse each time, telling her that they deserved better and everything would be okay if he remained dead in their eyes.
~“I wasn’t a good person. Especially to Jake. I was…awful. And after everything, they deserve to have their lives go back to normal. They’ll be happier now. They’re gonna move on and be okay, I know it.”
~And honestly, Junior believed that. He really thought that they would be alright. He lied to himself enough that he was convinced that it was the truth.
~It took some time before he realized that he might’ve been wrong once he began to hear about strange killings going on in different parts of the country on the news. Killings that resembled too much like Chucky.
~Junior wanted to ignore it, he truly did. But his stomach was in knots, every part of him screaming to call one of his former friends to see if they were okay, maybe even warn them if they were unaware of what was happening.
~He almost didn’t until he started having nightmares about Chucky killing Lexy, Jake, and Devon, taunting him for being a pussy and not doing anything to stop them.
~That’s when Junior finally gathered the courage to pick up his phone, punch in Jake’s number that was still ingrained in his memory despite Junior having a new phone and number, and finally called him.
~It felt like the phone was ringing for years. It got to the point where Junior was about to hang up before Jake answered the phone. “Hello?”
~Junior froze and the words he had prepared in his mind multiple times died in his throat. He recognized his cousin’s voice easily but it was a sound he didn’t think he’d hear again. He knew he missed his former friends but he didn’t realize how much until now.
~“Ummm…hello?” Jake spoke again but Junior forgot how to use his own voice. “That’s it, I’m hanging up—”
~Finally, Junior remembered how to speak. “Hi Jake…” he said quietly, his voice hesitant.
~It was Jake’s turn to pause. “Wh-who is this?”
~“It’s me…it’s Junior.” He wasn’t surprised that Jake might not have recognized his voice. It had been almost a year since they last talked-well, rather fought-and Junior was sure that his cousin forgot how he sounded like.
~There was another pause before Jake spoke again. “Whoever this is, this isn’t fucking funny!”
~Junior blinked in surprise, feeling confused. “What—?”
~“Why the hell are you calling?!” Jake demanded, anger laced in his voice. “My cousin is dead and you think pretending to be him is some kind of joke?! What the fuck is wrong with you people?!”
~Oh dear god, Jake thought this was a prank call. People had been prank calling his cousin, if not his other former friends as well, before?
~Junior quickly stood up from his bed, starting to pace around his room and began speaking faster than before. “Shit, Jake, no, it’s actually me! It’s Junior, your cousin! And I think you’re in danger!”
~Jake scoffed. “Go fuck yourself, dude—!”
~“Jake, wait, listen! There’s murders going around, murders like what I think Chucky was doing. I think he’s still out there and if he’s that’s true, then he’s going to go after you, Lexy, and Devon. I need you to warn them, okay? Or better yet, get the fuck out of Hackensack and don’t look back. Chucky will go after all of you so you need to leave! Do you understand?” He paused to finally breathe properly due to his rambling before noticing that the other line was completely silent.
~“Hello?” Junior quickly checked his phone and realized that Jake had hung up on him, probably before he started his confession. “Shit! No, no, no, no, no!” He quickly called him back, the phone ringing just once before immediately hearing the voicemail.
~“I’m sorry, but the person you are trying to reach is not available—”
~“GODDAMNIT! SON OF A BITCH!” Junior screamed when he realized that Jake had blocked him, throwing his phone across the room and it hit the wall. He quickly ran over to his phone, picking it up and inspecting it. There was a single crack on the screen but it still worked, Junior dropping to his knees and rubbing his chest to calm himself down.
~Junior knew that he could call Devon or Lexy. He still remembered their numbers. But if Jake didn’t believe that it was his own cousin on the phone, why would they believe it was him too? They would think it was just some prank phone call.
~Who the fuck still did prank phone calls nowadays anyways?
~Junior sat there in silence, trying to figure out what was next. He didn’t know what to do…except that he did at the same time.
~He forced himself to stand up and look at his mirror, staring back at his own reflection. Junior wasn’t the same person he was before. He had a whole new identity, new hair, new clothes, new name. He was someone better.
~But looking back at himself now, he still saw the same Junior. The same Junior that walked with his head down, shoulders scrunched up, permanently expressionless and wearing whatever his father wanted him to wear. He saw the Junior that could be mean but was a pushover and a people pleaser, fearful of his father but embarrassingly desperate for approval from him anyway. That was the Junior that would cry himself to sleep most nights because he thought that he could never be free.
~That Junior was dead and gone, buried in New Jersey. He wanted to leave that part of him there and never look back.
~But he now knew that that wasn’t an option.
~There was only one way Junior could keep Lexy, Devon, and Jake all safe. To make sure that Chucky didn’t hurt them ever again. It was a promise he made as soon as he got to Washington but now, he had to break it.
~Junior Wheeler had to go back to Hackensack to protect his former friends and kill that asshole doll.
~“Fuck.”
Who's interested in a sequel? And should it be a one-shot or make it an actual full on fic?

richie leaned his head back against the headboard of his bed with a loud yawn, though he willed himself not to let his eyes close. he took a glance over at the digital clock on his bedside table and groaned quietly when seeing that it was almost three in the morning. himself and eddie had been up all night, trying to monitor their daughter who was ill. she hadn’t been too bad during the day - she had a stuffy nose and complained about being too cold, but overall she was okay. though since she had gone to bed she’d been up to the bathroom at least ten times, and as eddie was worrying more (although she insisted she was fine, a trait eddie insisted she got from richie) they had decided to just stay up until they knew she was asleep.
maggie (they had named her after richie’s mom, who had cried and refused to let eddie and richie go for at least five minutes when they had told her) had gotten up again around five minutes ago, and had been in the bathroom for that time. eddie was downstairs at the time, making himself and richie some coffee to try and stay awake. though richie was sat silently up in bed, listening for any sign that maggie needed him in there. he’d been trying to give her some space all night as she insisted that she was fine, but he was still worried. she usually slept through the night with no issues.
he could hear eddie cluttering around in the kitchen downstairs as the bedroom door was open, and continued to force his eyes open. soon enough he’d have caffeine in his system, he just had to hold on until then. richie was exhausted from work, and wanted nothing more than to bury underneath the sheets with his arm around eddie, but maggie was his top priority. he’d do anything for his little girl (though she was not so little anymore at fifteen years old) even if that included sacrificing his precious sleep.
though forcing his eyes open soon was the last of his worries, because after a few minutes he could hear a weak “dad?” from the bathroom before he could hear retching down the hallway, and richie couldn’t remember the last time he’d gotten up so quickly. his back protested with a click as he ran out of his and eddie’s bedroom though he ignored it, pushing the bathroom door open to crouch on the floor beside maggie.
she was leaning over the toilet bowl as she threw up and richie sighed softly. he gathered her hair up in one hand in a makeshift ponytail, and used his free hand to rub her back gently. her knuckles were white with how hard she gripped the edge of the toilet and he frowned. ever since she was a little kid she detested being sick.
“it’s okay sweetie, you’re okay.” he mumbled as he continued running his hand over her back, growing even more concerned when he noticed her shirt was damp with sweat. fuck. did she have a fever?
“eddie!” he leaned his head back to shout out of the doorway, as eddie hadn’t heard the commotion upstairs.
by the time eddie had joined them in the bathroom maggie had leaned away from the toilet with a groan, falling back against richie as she closed her eyes. her face was flushed red and sweaty, and when richie had covered her forehead with his palm she felt too warm.
“she’s really hot.” richie told eddie worriedly, looking up at his husband as he moved to crouch on maggie’s other side, checking her temperature himself.
“i think she’s got a fever,” eddie frowned, as he moved his hand from her forehead to gently rub her shoulder for a moment instead. “go get her in our room, i’m gonna grab her some water.” he squeezed richie’s shoulder for a moment before eddie stood up again, and after a moment richie could hear the stairs creaking under his weight as he went back downstairs.
maggie groaned quietly as richie went to move and she grabbed onto his shirt. “can’t we just stay here? i don’t wanna move.” she complained quietly, and richie chuckled as he shook his head.
“sorry kiddo, doctor’s orders,” he joked, glad to see the brief smile that flashed onto her face. “c’mon, you’ll be much comfier in our room.”
seeing as she didn’t move (he doubted she had too much energy in her) he hooked an arm underneath her knees and kept his other one underneath her back as he stood with a quiet groan, his back protesting again underneath the extra weight. she continued to grip onto his shirt as he carried her out of the bathroom, and carefully sat her down where he’d previously been five minutes ago on his side of the bed.
“i’ll be back in a second, okay?” he tucked the covers up to her waist before he dropped his head down to press a kiss to her forehead.
richie waited until she had nodded before he gently squeezed her shoulder and left the bedroom to go and quickly clean up the bathroom; flushing the toilet before he sprayed it and the floor with the antibacterial spray that eddie kept in there at all times.
by the time he had finished and gotten back into the bedroom eddie was perched on the edge of the bed beside her, and he passed her a glass of water off of a tray he had brought up.
richie moved to sit on the bed behind eddie, leaning over his shoulder to get closer to maggie with his arm around eddie. “don’t worry, chap, doctor k is gonna take good care of you and you’ll be tip-top shape in no time, good fellow.”
“stop doing the fuckin’ british guy.” eddie mumbled as he picked up a digital thermometer from the tray, though maggie giggled quietly at the stupid impression which made richie (and eddie, he could see from the corner of his eye) smile in relief. at least she could still be in a somewhat good mood despite being sick.
“sorry, doctor k, my father’s just trying to be jolly and supportive.” maggie piped in with her own british accent and richie snorted, giving her a high-five over eddie’s shoulder.
“you two are menaces.” eddie complained jokingly as he turned on the thermometer and gently turned maggie’s head to place the end of it in her ear, his free hand gently stroking through her hair to comfort her the best he could. maggie pulled a face as it was held in her ear for a moment, before it beeped and eddie pulled it away. richie leaned over eddie’s shoulder to see the results, and grimaced when he read 102°F.
“is it bad?” richie looked up as maggie spoke and frowned at the look on her face. he knew how much she hated being sick, and he just wanted her to feel better.
“just a little high, honey,” eddie gently rubbed her arm as he put the thermometer back on the tray. “it’ll go back down in no time,” maggie seemed a little relieved at that, and smiled slightly. “do you want something to eat?”
maggie shook her head as she pulled a face, though despite her answer eddie got up anyways and headed back downstairs, to get her something richie assumed.
richie scooted forwards to be where eddie was as maggie leaned back against the headboard and he gently took her hand, rubbing circles onto her knuckles with his thumb. she took another sip of her water before richie took it from her to put back on the tray, and when he looked back at her she was shivering slightly, despite her temperature reading. richie didn’t know if he could give her anything else to warm her up because of her fever and without eddie there in that moment to ask, he got her to shuffle up in the bed slightly before richie got in beside her and hooked his arm around her shoulders to hold her close to herself. he could feel her shivering against him as she leaned into his side, but he could feel her physically relax against him which made him a little relieved. her head was against his shoulder as she gently held onto him, and richie hoped she could get some sleep soon.
“dad?” she asked softly and richie hummed as he glanced down at her. “can we still go to aunt bev’s and uncle ben’s tomorrow?”
richie internally cursed at the question. bev and ben lived the closest to them out of all of the losers, so they often had dinners together. they were supposed to go over theirs the day after, though with the state maggie was in there was no way they could now. and even if richie wanted to, eddie wouldn’t let her step foot out of the door.
“i don’t know, sweetheart,” richie gently rubbed her arm, though sighed softly when he saw her frown. she was very close to bev, and loved being able to see her aunt all the time. “we’ll see if they can come here instead, okay? but only if you’re feeling up to it. your pa would have a fit if you were up doing something you can’t.” he told her and she nodded, satisfied with his answer.
eddie walked back into the room and held a plate in one hand and a bowl in the other. he placed the bowl down on the tray - which richie could see had ice water and two washcloths in - before he set the plate down in maggie’s lap, who frowned when she saw the toast sat in front of her.
“pa,” she whined quietly. since maggie was a toddler she had known that she had to refer to richie and eddie with different names, otherwise both of them came running when she called “daddy”. so she settled with calling richie “dad” and eddie “pa”, which all of them were happy with. “i feel too sick.”
“just eat what you can.” eddie gently touched her arm again, before he left the room for another moment. when he came back into the bedroom he carried a bucket and set it beside the bed. richie assumed it was for if she was going to be sick again so she didn’t have to get up.
maggie’s head lulled against richie’s shoulder again as she continued holding onto him, and richie kept up the gentle motion of moving his hand up and down her arm. she still felt too warm despite her shivering.
eddie picked the bowl up from the tray and perched on the edge of the bed. he took the washcloth out and rung it out so it wasn’t dripping before he leaned over to lay one across her forehead. maggie scrunched up her face at the coldness but didn’t complain that time.
“rich can you put one behind her neck?” eddie handed one to him as he nodded and carefully lifted her head enough to lay the cloth behind her neck before he settled her back against his shoulder once more. richie noticed her shivering get a little worse and frowned as he looked back at eddie.
“is she meant to be shaking?” he asked as he tucked the covers tighter around her and eddie nodded.
“yeah, it’s ‘cause of the fever. she’s fine.” eddie reassured him with a hand on his knee before he put the bowl down and moved to get in the bed on her other side once he had grabbed the controller for the tv that was mounted on the wall opposite the bed.
“hey, eat your food young lady,” richie gently nudged her arm and maggie groaned in complaint but picked up the toast and nibbled at the crust. good enough for him. “i know it’s not as good as if i made it, but pa tries his best.” he snickered at eddie’s glare though maggie smiled slightly at the joke.
eddie loaded netflix and put on the first sitcom that came up that he knew maggie liked. it wasn’t the best show out there, but it made maggie happy, and at that moment it was all that mattered. once the show was playing richie felt eddie’s hand on his arm which had stretched out behind maggie’s head and he smiled as he glanced over at his husband.
maggie had taken two bites of her toast but her head had dropped against richie’s shoulder again, and upon taking a glance at her face he could see that she was fighting to keep her eyes open. she let the toast drop back onto the plate and eddie moved the plate from her lap, which allowed her to curl up more into richie’s side. eddie lifted a hand to stroke through her hair, and that combined with richie’s hand on her arm was enough to let her eyes finally fall closed and she fell asleep.
“she’ll probably be up again soon,” eddie mumbled quietly. “it’s good she's getting sleep when she can.”
“what about us? it’s way past my bedtime too.” richie whispered with a joking pout and eddie scoffed.
“like you didn’t used to throw pillows at me at bill’s sleepovers when i wanted to sleep because i was being a boring dumbass.” eddie smirked slightly and richie rolled his eyes.
“yeah but we were like twelve. i’m old now. i’m practically wasting away into dust.” he sighed dramatically and eddie rolled his eyes, though richie could feel his fingers against his arm as they traced gentle patterns.
richie stretched out the best he could as maggie was curled against him with a quiet groan, before he reached over to pick up the toast that she clearly wasn’t going to eat and took a bite of it himself. his gaze was directed towards the sitcom on the tv though he was more focused on eddie’s fingers gently moving along his arm and the feeling of maggie pressed to his side, gently gripping his shirt in her sleep.
it was going to be a long night, he realised with a sigh, though he’d do it a thousand times if maggie needed them to, and he knew that eddie felt the same way.

okay, i’ll be the first to admit that i read a lot of reddie fics that are moreso fix-it fics where eddie is still alive at the end and richie is happy and his career gets a lot better, but we all know that’s not what happens.
i,, i’ve just been thinkin about fics where richie has to get a lot of therapy and help from professionals and the remaining losers. i imagine richie pretty much has to be watched by at least on of the losers at all times for at least a few months so he doesn’t k word himself. he’s probably living with mike or something and traveling with mike to keep him company, and they both visit the rest of the losers whenever they can.
it takes richie a while of therapy and sitting down to write new things for his comedy before he even begins to return to the celebrity world and actually talk to his manager about what’s going on with him. least to say, people are a bit surprised when the kinda trashy sexist comedian returns after his unexplained disappearance and is seemingly an entirely different person? like actually funny kinda different?
don’t get me wrong, i don’t really think he would actually have the courage to come out as a gay comedian without eddie, but at least the losers would know. they sat through way too much gay pining as kids and many of richie’s mental breakdowns about how the love of his life is dead to not know at this point. richie tries his best to avoid all topics about his love life as possible. which isn’t that hard because most people still don’t think he can get a love life.
i do think he would mention clowns and how they scare the shit out of him a lot, and make joking “metaphor” bullshit about what actually happened, mostly as a coping mechanism. and maybe one year a bunch of his comedian friends get together and decide to prank him by one of them dressing up as a 2016 style creepy clown. and maybe they weren’t expecting richies fear response to be to violently scream insults at the clown, and beat it with the nearest thing with some weight on it.
considering richie never really seemed like that violent of a person before, they avoid any clown related pranks after that.
one time a reporter asks richie who his closest celebrity friends are, and no one believes him when he mentions the famous writer, fashion designer, and architect. why would they? never been seen with each other, their careers don’t have anything to do with each other, and all three are much more professional that richie ever really seems to be.
none of the losers outright confirm it without anyone asking them to directly, because they like to see richie get made fun of for it on the internet, but a fan happens to approach newlyweds bev and ben and ask if they actually have any correlation to that one comedian that says he knows you, richie tozier.
at the same time, ben he’s such a good boy says “of course we know richie,” and bev the little shit says “who the fuck is that?” this solves no one’s question, and goes into the list of unsolved mysteries about richie tozier- that no one will ever get answers to, as long as richie can help it.
and maybe, just maybe, richie decides further down the line to create a charity for the lgbtq+ community, and name it after eds. no this totally doesn’t add more questions to the pool, like why he would do this or who the fuck “eds” is, but he raises good money for it anyway.

Build Me Up, Buttercup
George Weasley x Reader
Song Inspired
Warnings: Zilch. Pure Fluff.
Tumblr media
Life at the Burrow can get pretty hectic. With so many people running in and out all of the time things can quickly get out of hand. So, fortunately for Mrs Weasley she had so many ready and willing children to lend a hand when necessary.
Okay, maybe 'ready and willing' is a stretch. It's more of a 'whether you like it or not' arrangement if we're being honest. But regardless it gets the jobs done.
Today being no exception, so while Molly and Arthur left for town to run some errands preparing for the new school year, there were a list of chores for her 'happy' helpers; Fred, George, Y/n, Ron, Harry and Ginny, to get done.
Ron and Harry were set the challenge of De-Gnoming the garden, Ginny had a chicken coop to clean, Fred - to his great pleasure - were on laundry duty (though last George saw there weren't much folding going on. More his brother were sprawled out dramatically over a pile of towels groaning loudly), Y/n meanwhile was on kitchen duty and so that left George the very taxing chore of cleaning the attic. Molly were sure to give he and Fred separate jobs knowing full well, left to their own devices, no work would get done - if anything she'd come home to a bigger mess.
George hated the attic, it were so cluttered and stuffy. Not to mention the Ghoul were no help with all the racket he liked to make banging one piece of junk against the other. Thankfully, however, he were nearly finished.
Placing the final box atop the others he'd organised George dusted his hands before resting them on his hips with a tired sigh.
He let his eyes roam the space - damn they had some junk. Although there were a notable improvement thanks to his efforts. All that remained was to dust the, many, cobwebs and sweep the floors.
Looking around the room he noticed the broom and dustpan were nowhere in sight - that's when he remembered y/n had been using them to clean the living room earlier. As he was sure she'd be finished using them by now, he turned to descend the staircase, ducking briefly to avoid an old pan the Ghoul threw in protest of the houses usual quietness, George made his way towards the sitting room.
Passing Fred, whom were not much better off than when he'd started - still groaning, but now upright and reluctantly folding, this brought an amused smile to his twins face until something piqued his curiosity. There were Muggle music coming from the bottom floor.
Y/n, being a half-blood, had introduced the Weasleys to some records from her home on her previous visit and must have put one on to listen to whilst she cleaned.
As he drew nearer the music grew louder and more recognisable. Her record of The Foundations was playing - a favourite of hers George had learned.
As he reached the bottom flight of stairs his eyes scanned the room - y/n had done an excellent job - unfortunately though the object he required were nowhere to be found. Turning to step off the landing George reddied to ask y/n if she were done using it, assuming she'd carried on her good work to the dining room, but he found himself halted by the sight before him.
Y/n were by the sink scrubbing this mornings dishes. But that's not what stopped him in his tracks. She were dancing and singing along to the record as she did so - quite passionately.
George leant against the nearby cabinet as he admired her while she 'performed', so obliviously happy wrapped up in her own little world. He watched the way her hips swayed in time with the beat, the slight bounce in her step as she shifted her weight from one foot to the other. How her hair was flowing wildly with each silly head-bang and nod along. He could see the way her face lit up in joy by the faint reflection in the window. His favourite thing by far though was the way she used the scrubbing brush as a microphone as she sang along.
His smile grew as the next song began to play, which he knew she were very fond of, and her enthusiasm seemed to increase ten fold.
Her arms flailed about of their own accord as she danced, singing excitedly, "Why do you build me up, Buttercup, baby, just to let me down?"
It were moments like these George found himself falling for her harder - everytime. When she finally let her walls down and would let herself be truly happy and unashamedly expressive of her real - crazy - self. A side he wished she'd show more.
His relationship with y/n were complicated in a way. They've known each other for years. Grown up in the same small town and had been sorted into the same house at Hogwarts; so naturally she'd always been close with the Weasleys, especially the Twins, and over the years it became blatantly obvious to everyone, even y/n and George, that they'd developed feelings for each other.
They'd just never managed to act on them.
There'd been plenty of moments. Nights spent up late talking by the fire of the common room. Plenty of long walks by the Black Lake. Plenty of midnight snack runs to the kitchens and Butterbeers drank in Hogsmead. Plenty of moments, just never the right one.
A slight chuckle rolled from the back of Georges throat as he watched on and y/ns movements became more energetic and her voice began to carry more over the music
"...worst of all, you never call, baby. When you say you will. But I still-" y/n had spun in place only to be met with the realisation she were no longer alone and that her little concert had an on-looker.
George stood smugly, with arms folded as his tongue slowly came to wet his lips and a wide toothy smile graced his features.
Y/n was frozen like a deer in headlights. Her make shift microphone still held high. Her eyes left his as she drew a heavy breath but simply shrugged and carried on with her karaoke, only now it weren't a show for the dishes - she instead began to serenade George.
She smoothly tossed the scourer from one hand into the other, her dominant one now pointed dramatically at George as she sung,
"I need you! More than anyone, Darling." George raised his eyebrows in mock surprise as if to say 'oh, really?'
"You know I have from the start" her arm that'd been pointing at the redhead was then swiftly cast high into the air, her head falling back with it singing loudly "so, build me up!" George couldn't help the laugh that erupt from his chest at her theatrics watching as she put her hand over her heart, looking back to him with doey-love eyes, a slight shake to her head finishing the chorus' "don't break my heart" in a loving tone.
As the song continued y/n kept on with her awkward dance moves, beckoning for him to join her. He'd genuinely tried to resist - but he could never say no to her.
His hands found hers twisting in time with the music and twirling her just to hear the laugh it brought from her.
Y/n hadn't expected him to join her much less start singing himself but he did and she couldn't be happier.
"Baby, baby, try to find a little time and I'll make you happy" both were laughing loudly as their moves slowly became more comical. George was swaying her about the room, pushing her away in a twirl before pulling her back into his chest (all those lessons for the Yule ball really paying off right now) as he continued to sing y/n jokingly raised the brush for him to sing into as she had, which he did with as much energy and flare as he does anything.
"But I could be the boy you adore, if you'd just let me know...BA-DAH-DAH!" he yelled the last part particularly loud which nearly had y/n falling to her knees in laughter, but George had caught her.
Y/n snatched the 'microphone' back from him as the chorus came back round and sang sweetly to him once again;
"But I love you still. I need you, more than anyone, Darling. You know that I have since the start. So build me up, Buttercup. Baby, don't break my heart."
George didn't know what came over him. Maybe it were because of how unbelievably adorable she looked in this moment. The way hearing her say 'I love you' got his heart racing, beating harder than a drum. Or simply the build up of years of pointless pining for one another, when they both clearly wanted this - all that wasted time in which they could have been together. Whatever the reason; he knew there'd never be a more right moment than this.
Suddenly his hand was finding her waist and pulling her body tight against his while the other came to her cheek. His thumb delicately traced her bottom lip as his fingers slowly moved to caress and rest lovingly by the nape of her neck.
"I'd never" he'd whispered the words so tenderly, with eyes which seemed to hold more love than could be considered possible. Her body all but melted under his touch, eyes dancing frantically back and forth between his trying to anticipate his next move. But it was her word he was waiting for, he wasn't taking this any further unless he was sure she wanted it, and she did. Her gaze flicked briefly to his lips encouragingly.
Georges hand slowly glided across her soft skin, tracing the line of her jaw till reaching her chin, tilting her head up ever-so-slightly as they leaned towards one another. Their eyes fluttered close, lips only just meeting in a feather-light touch that had y/n inhaling shakily at the tingles which had erupted through her spine. Their lips were just about to connect-
A flash of green and loud crash from the fireplace sent them jumping from their skins. Lungs coughing copious amounts of soot which indicated the return of Mr and Mrs Weasley.
"My, the place looks marvellous" Molly beamed, admiring the dining and living areas. "Afternoon, Kids! Keeping busy then I hope?" Arthur greeted smilingly. "Yeah" George answered, "we're just finishing up the dishes." He grinned down to y/n who was determinately focusing on the two adults in attempt to control her nervousness. "Excellent, well don't let us mind you - we'll be out of your hair in a tick" his father spoke as both parents ascended the staircase fussing over the school supplies they'd purchased.
The teens turned their attention to the long since forgotten dishes in the sink. They worked in comfortable silence, y/n scrubbing as George dried. His eye was constantly being pulled to the girl beside him as he noticed how she were trying - and failing - to hide a smile. Playfully he bumped her hip with his own, which finally turned her attention to him once again. She was waiting for him to speak but he never did. Merely smirking down at her with a glance to her lips, a look that completely broke the girls composed facade as she focused back to the task at hand, biting her lip to suppress a giddy smile.
George did the same, but there were no hiding his own wide smile, not even if he wanted to.

Fic Recs/Mandatory Reading for Reddie fans
Here is an incomplete list of some of my favorite Reddie fics on ao3, because i cannot get over the sheer talent of this fandom’s wonderful writers! A lot of these are the Greatest Hits that you’ll find on almost every fic list, but that’s why I consider them mandatory reading. like if you haven’t read some of these, what are you doing?
the years go by like days by georgiestauffenberg, rated M
the 27 years in between, but better because richie and eddie stay together. every time i think of this fic, i think of that lady gaga meme where she’s like “brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, etc” and maybe it’s bc this is one of the first reddie fics i ever read, but this one is always gonna be my favorite
broken record by spunknbite, rated E
the mother of all time loop fics. every reddie veteran gets chills at the phrase “the house on Neibolt was still standing”
literally everything by stitchy
like seriously just clear a few days bc you’re not gonna want to stop reading this author once you start. no other author has made me literally fucking cackle in one paragraph and sob in the next like this one, pls do yourself a favor and devour all their works like i did
the night we met (take me back) by camerasparring, rated E
ch2 fix-it where eddie shows up at richie’s door alive and with no memory. great slow burn with a wonderfully conflicted richie, 10/10
let’s hear it for my baby! series by cloudings, rated E
OOOOOOOHHH boy! a modern teen!reddie grindr AU that’s both steamy AND sweet?? more like a fucking blessing amen hallelujah
a heart that laughter has made sweet by marjaani, rated E
another lovely teen!reddie fic that’s got it all! sweet, stupid boys, humor, a teeny bit of angst, and some 5-alarm fire smut with some top eddie, as a treat
keep talking. i’ll keep walking toward the sound of your voice. by theappleppielifestyle, rated T
angst with a happy ending is my favorite, and this one is just fantastic. so sweet, so sad! and stan is featured as eddie’s afterlife buddy and idk about y’all but i cannot get enough of stanley uris in my reddie fics. read this, then read all this author’s reddie fics, they’re all amazing
collateral by loosecannon, sheepknitssweater, rated E
a post-ch2 fic that i guess could be classified as fix-it, BUT with some very interesting twists. they beat the clown, everyone lives, but no one really gets the tropey happy ending. the WIP sequel is also incredible and i live for the updates.
the greater fool  series by mischiefmanager, mostly rated T with some E
this is a series i’ll reread a lot bc it’s so fucking good. follows young reddie into early adulthood, mostly a bunch of cute shit where they figure out themselves and their relationship. also contains the single best teen reddie fic in existence, he came in through the window, but reading the whole series is a must
brokeback derry and everything else by Amuly, rated E
27 years in between, richie and eddie reconnect in their 20s and meet back up in derry twice a year to remember and love each other before going back to their lives and forgetting. so much pain. there’s a lot of sweet stuff in there, but you can see shit’s gonna get complicated from miles away and the anticipation almost gave me stomach ulcers (in a good way). ultimate angst with a happy ending.
let me name the stars for you by playedwright, rated M
speaking of angst with a happy ending...Martian AU!!!!! this one fucked me up in the best way, i literally called my roommate at 2am to vent to her about my emotions after reading it. i go back and reread chapter 8 just to be overwhelmed by it, and it makes me cry every time. plus, there are awesome sequels/companion pieces in the series! read this, i beg you!
walk through fire for you by hyruling, rated T
unwind after all that angst with some cute, drunk, confused eddie being very upset when he finds out richie is engaged. richie only teases him a little before pointing out the matching ring on eddie’s finger.
in the heat of the summer (you're so different from the rest) by kaboomslang, rated E
post-ch2 slow burn with tags that really say it all, including but not limited to: eddie moves to california and richie is a mess, Eddie Kaspbrak’s Hot Girl Summer, and cute middle aged man dates
pivotal moments by danfanciesphil, polypocket, rated E
high school reddie has a sort of fwb thing goin on, but emotions get in the way. featuring wonderful bevchie friendship, hella miscommunication, cute double dates, high eddie, and a happy ending
like a bullet in the back by jerry_duty, rated M
adult idiots in love! a personal favorite trope of mine! slow burn with a fair helping of angst but a really great ending. richie stays with eddie in new york while he’s there on business, and it takes these losers SO LONG to figure it out but the way they dance around it is very cute
no sense of living without aim [WIP] by liesmyth, rated E
richie and eddie meet on grindr in the 27 years between and hey, whadda ya know, they fall in love! i really love this fic but i’m pretty sure it’s been abandoned. i’ve had it open on my phone browser for like 3 months with no update but i still check it regularly bc i’m pathetic and this fic is just so good i’m DYING to know what happens next so read at ur own risk
a strange sense of familiarity [WIP] by Katranga, rated E
another “they meet and fall in love without remembering” fic, and even though it’s not complete yet, it gets regular updates. oh, also, i’m obsessed with it. they’re long distance fuck buddies who can’t admit they’re in love, and then they get hit with the childhood memories! and everyone lives! what’s not to love!  also PLEASE read kisses take like mint and every other reddie work by this author, they are all fantastic
adult friends by sudowoodo, rated T
AU where adult reddie meet at a first aid seminar for work (immediately fall in love), become friends, become best friends, and finally get to be happy. has some super repressed eddie and intensely pining richie, which is always fun, and genuinely made me laugh out loud. also please check out this author’s other reddie fics, there’s some super sweet kid reddie in there that really warms the heart
the mind's a funny fruit by joldiego, rated T
eddie wakes up barely alive in derry, has 0 memory, calls himself richie, and moves in with some lesbians. an absolute must read that ought to be on every reddie fic rec compilation. i read this a long time ago and just thinking about it makes me want to read it again.
now what i'm gonna say may sound indelicate [WIP] by IfItHollers, rated E
it took me entirely too long to find this fic since i joined the fandom, and it’s truly a fucking masterpiece. it’s almost at 200k now and still unfinished, and the slow burn is excruciating, but this is a legendary fic for a reason. eddie spends the first chunk of this fic in the hospital recovering from the massive chest wound, and then he and richie move the recovery to ben’s cabin in the woods. the author’s notes for each chapter are a story in themselves
signs of a new lifetime by swordfishtrombones, rated T
one of the sweetest, most romantic reddie fics i’ve ever read. a fresh take on a classic concept: post-ch2, they’re in love, they haven’t said/done anything about it yet, BUT!!! it’s not angsty! they are all cute and giggly like “you say it first!” “no, you say it first!” and it makes me fucking MELT
broadcasting tower by swordfishtrombones, rated E
back-to-back recs from the same author! bc i love these fics so much! sort of similar to the last one in that they both know what’s up and just haven’t said it, but this one’s got the angst! i didn’t know when i read it that it was the same author as the other fic, and i thought how funny, i found another reddie author that perfectly captures this pair in such a wonderfully romantic way! i also just noticed there’s a follow up to this so now i have to go read that immediately
eurydice; the original comeback kid by Vulcanodon, rated M
for the love of god please read this and the other work in this series. it’s a ch-2 fix-it with some intense action sequences and major pining, and it has haunted me since i first read it
love on the telephone by tempestbreak, rated E
okay this one is really just 30k of pure smut but it’s also so sweet and features a mini sexual awakening for eddie and some insecure richie with an emphasis on how much they love and trust each other. also it doesn’t hurt that the smut is fire, like does anyone else want that twink obliterated, or is it just me?
the boy who loves you by candlejill, rated E
eddie lives, richie confesses, things are chill and then they’re not. richie’s career flourishes, which is always nice to read and is what ultimately catalyzes eddie’s gay awakening and realization of his love for richie. it’s got some sad angsty parts and a very sweet ending, and it up there as one of my favorite reddie fics of all time
richie and eddie break up [WIP] by skeilig, rated M
a refreshing and realistic take on life ch-2 for the losers, because being in love at thirteen doesn’t mean you can fall into a perfect relationship at 40. i’ll admit, i’m hoping this will ultimately be a “richie and eddie get back together” fic, but it’s still a very good read (and often very funny in the second chapter) at the moment in the midst of their break up
september 1989 and everything else by pineapplecrushface, rated T
cute kid reddie figuring it out and making me smile. the follow up to this and the after derry series by this author are also personal favorites
go west by ssstrychnine, rated T
road trip fic! an absolute work of art slow burn with teen reddie in the 90s. it’s so beautifully written i just wish i could go back and read it for the first time again
the edification of eddie kaspbrak by tozier, rated M
character study with some incredible fucking prose, my lord it gorgeous. explores how eddie learns about love as he grows up, and it’s super fucking sad sometimes bc the poor boy doesn’t know how to have the things he wants and i just want to give him a hug, but it’s really a spectacular fic
circular motion by sinchronicity, rated M
soulmate!AU that follows book canon and even though it’s been a long time since i’ve read it and the details are fuzzy, i remember absolutely loving it and thinking it was incredible
tell me you know by RichiesToesHurt, rated E
college losers with some severely pining and jealous richie with a lovely ending
predicament bondage [WIP] by dgalerab, rated E
i resisted reading this fic for so long, recently broke and binged all of it, and now i’m like frothing at the mouth for updates. richie’s a closeted actor/comedian who meets eddie, a professional Dom, when he needs help researching a role. they become friends, they develop crushes, richie realizes he’s a sub, and it’s just so much fun to read
there’s a lot more fics to rec so i might add on to this in the future, but in the meantime my biggest tip for for reading fanfiction that took me embarrassingly long to figure out: focus on the authors! if you read something you like, check out the rest of the work by that author bc odds are you’ll like that too. i mentioned it in a few specific works above, but check out the authors catalogues for these fics. if i included every work by these authors that i loved, this list would be miles long
feel free to add on any great stuff i missed, there’s sure to be tons of it!

May I request “coco” for reddie?
NOTE: I know that I am late and I didn’t do a lot of ITFandomWeek, but I know one of the days had a traveling theme. This is also a little sequel fic I wrote to one of @eddiekaspraktozier Reddie story. I recommend that you read it!
“This evening has been very nice,” Eddie remarked, fully at bliss as he enjoyed a cup of cocoa. Ben and Beverly spoiled the Losers on their trip to Switzerland. They hardly had a chance to sit down in their explorations. Investigating every venue there was, going to restaurants, and even getting on the snowy alps, at the end of the day they had hot tubs in their rooms.
Richie gave Eddie’s shoulders a nice massage as they enjoyed the hot tub. This was the best trip ever. “Now you’re glad that we came?”
“Yes, so worth it!” Eddie said, happily leaning against his boyfriend. Normally, Eddie always wore a swimsuit when he was in a pool, but given that it was a hot tub, he was talked into Richie’s skinny dipping idea.
“How many pictures do you think we took?”
“Enough to put in two albums.”
Richie giggled. He kissed the back of Eddie’s head. “So, you’ve been enjoying yourself.”
“I have. What about you?”
“Oh, I could die from how much fun I am having!”
Eddie lightly splashed him. “Would you stop?”
Richie continued to massage his shoulders. That sunburn from two months ago was a lot better. Of course, he still had the outline from his workout clothes. Once he started pealing, he didn’t dare go outside for a week. And they did everything that Eddie wanted them to do before the trip making him feel less anxious.
Which gave him an idea. “Hey, Eds?”
Eddie grunted in response, still in pure bliss. He looked like he was falling asleep.
“When we go back, I have to go on tour for a week.”
Eddie turned and looked up at him, distraught. “Oh, you have to leave so soon?”
“I want you to come with me. You can see the rest of the world. Do you want to travel more?” Richie asked him, his hands giving his shoulders a nice relaxing rub.
Thinking through it for a moment, Eddie smiled, kissing his hand. “I would like that.” He turned, looking at him, a familiar wanting look in his eyes. Sliding his hand down his back, Richie fondled Eddie’s manhood under the water and started kissing him.
Well, now they could check having sex in a hot tub off the list of dirty things. As Eddie stared up at the ceiling of their bed that night, cuddling against Richie’s flesh, Eddie couldn’t get over how happy he was. He never expected happiness to feel this good.

reddie but eddie is raised by the toziers
Eddie was eight when it happened. His mom had been doing her usual job of suffocating him, telling him to get his hair cut, that he was too old to wear his Spiderman shorts, that he couldn’t play outside because the dust aggravated his asthma. Something in Eddie snapped and he screamed at her to leave him alone. He could do what he wanted with his own body, he knew his limits. Besides, he hasn’t had an asthma attack in a long time!
Sonia glared at him, her expression furious. She stood to her fullest height and berated her son for speaking to her in such a way, bringing up his father Frank and how disappointed he’d be if he could see the way Eddie was treating her. Although the Frank card hurt, he refused to fall for his mother’s crocodile tears and stood his ground, refusing to apologise. So Sonia threw him out into the street, refusing to let him back in until he learned some manners.
Eddie’s first thought was to go to Bill’s house but he lived quite far and he didn’t feel up to the walk. Richie though lived just one street over. Eddie didn’t let himself cry until he reached the Toziers front door, wiping his eyes with his arm as he rang their bell. As soon as the door opened, he was swept into a warm hug by Richie’s mom. She smelled sweet, like apples and honey. When she pulled away, Eddie noticed flecks of flour in her hair and on her floral apron. She’s clearly been baking.
“Oh Eddie, dear, whatever happened?”
Before Eddie could explain, Richie was elbowing his way past his mother to get his own Eddie hug. He looked in a worse state than Maggie; his glasses were covered in flour, his hands were sticky and his hair was splattered with all sorts of ingredients. Eddie’s first instinct was to squirm away, cringing at the state of Richie but he was too upset to move so he clung onto his friend. Eddie had never made so much as a sandwich with his own mother.
“Eds, what’s wrong?”
“Mom kicked me out,” he sniffled almost inaudibly into Richie’s shoulder whilst his friend routinely rubbed his back soothingly, “I told her off about everything so she told me not to come back. She mentioned my dad.”
Eddie was overcome by sobs again and he buried himself further into Richie’s neck. He expected Maggie take his Mom’s side with a roll of her eyes and ‘oh, kids today.’ Instead, she led Eddie into the house and sat him on the couch, handing him a plate of freshly baked apple pie and a glass of milk. Whilst Maggie and Went chatted in the kitchen, Richie entertained his friend by making a face out of his own food. Eddie had just finished his plate when Richie’s parents returned.
“Eddie...” Maggie began but her energetic son interrupted her.
“Can we keep him, Mom, pleeeeease, can we keep him?”
Maggie rolled her eyes affectionately, a small smile on her face, “honestly Richie, he’s not a dog,” she shook her head, looking down at Eddie. He was peering up at her with shining doe-eyes, silently pleading to stay. As if she was going to say no, “I’ll go and collect a few things from your house. You can stay here.”
"Thanks, Mrs. Tozier,” he managed to hiccup before Richie was dragging him upstairs, eager to show him where he could sleep.
Maggie immediately crossed to the street to the Kaspbrak residence. She wasn’t surprised to find Sonia unapologetic, her arms crossed as she listed off every quality she disliked about her son. Maggie ignored her, packing a bag of clothes and necessary items.
“You don’t have to worry about Eddie ‘disappointing’ you anymore, Sonia,” Maggie said defiantly, clutching Eddie’s bag of clothes. She made her way to the front door, “Eddie is living with us now.”
"You?” Sonia appeared in front of the door in an instant. She looked completely insulted and glared at Maggie in disgust, “I have done everything for that boy and now he’s abandoning me for you? You don’t know the first thing about parenting! You only have to look at your boy to see that.” Ever dignified, Maggie just stepped around the overbearing woman and left the house. Before she could cross the street, Sonia was calling her, “he needs these. All of them. I’ll be here when it all gets to much for you.”
She tossed a clear bag full of various pills in Maggie’s direction, slamming the door behind her. She briefly examined the large bag and concluded that she was not giving Eddie any of the pills in the bag until she’d determined if he actually needed them. When she arrived back at her house, Richie had found a spare pair of pyjamas for Eddie; the poor boy was almost drowning in hte large clothes but at least he looked happier.
"How did it go?” He asked anxiously, ringing his hands. Maggie glanced between Eddie and her son, who was biting his nails and fidgeting nervously. She smiled softly.
“I guess I have two children now.”
All at once, Maggie was leapt upon by the two boys and she chuckled, ruffling their hair. Went grinned in the background, delighted that everything had worked out for the better.
-
Eddie was nearly ten when the Toziers took him on his first ever vacation. He’d heard horror stories about the sea from mother but it didn’t look that scary. He still held Maggie’s hand fiercely tight, though, as the waves rushed onto the sand, brushing over his feet. Maggie smiled at the look of boyish amazement on Eddie’s face. He built sandcastles, played volleyball with Went and Richie and swam with his floaties in shallow water with fearless abandon, although he did pause every now and then to slather on sunscreen or drink plenty of water. Maggie and Went bought him ice cream which was nice without the added warnings that his mother would’ve provided.
"BRAINFREEZE,” Richie cried after he’d wolfed down his ice cream in one bite, one hand clutching his head dramatically.
"I thought you needed a brain for that,” both Went and Eddie said almost at the same time. That was when Eddie received his very first high five. It was the best holiday he’d ever had.
Eddie had just turned fourteen when he realised he loved Richie as more than just a friend or adopted brother. He had no idea if Richie felt the same and he was terrified of either possibility, to be honest, so he kept his mouth shut. Their school was hosting a summer dance for students to blow off steam and Eddie desperately wanted to ask Richie yet some other part of him wanted to hide and forget about the whole thing. He’d talked to Maggie and Went about his feelings; he’d told them he had a crush on a boy in his year but didn’t go into details. He suspected they knew anyway, judging by the way they smirked conspiratorially at each other.
He spent weeks agonising over his predicament and nearly all of the Losers were paired off. Bill, Mike and Stan were going as a threesome, Ben and Bev were going together. Richie, however, hadn’t said a word about his date which gave Eddie hope. He vowed by the end of the day, he’d ask Richie to the dance. He arrived at the Toziers after school to find the living room filled with flowers and candles, a homemade sign reading WILL YOU GO TO THE DANCE WITH ME EDS? hanging above the fireplace. Eddie wanted to cry.
“It’s cool of you want to go as bros,” Richie said awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck, “but I like you. Not as a bro, you know?”
“I like you, too,” Eddie mumbled, blushing as he noticed Maggie and Went standing off to the side, the red light of the camera recording blinking away, “I can’t wait to go to the dance with you.”
Richie was so happy he surged forward and lifted Eddie off of his feet, swinging him around. Eddie laughed delightfully, sharing in Richie’s happiness. Moving in with the Toziers was the best decision he’d ever made.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well!!! I LOVE YOU!!! For a distraction, please tell me your favorite Lesbian!Reddie HCs!!!!
Thank you bby, I appreciate it so much😭❤️
I feel like a lot of my lesbian!Reddie HCs correlate with the established ones, but I’ll try to be original. Also, I know you only asked for HCs but I basically wrote a whole ass fic bc I’m a mess and nothing can stop me😇
Whenever I think about fem!Eddie, I see a typical soft girl with cute hair bows and glittery nails, always a cherry lipgloss in her purse. Like, she’s the human version of the strawberry dress and you can’t convince me otherwise.
As for Richie, I feel like she would be somewhere between a butch and a femme. One day she can pop up to a party wearing a flannel shirt with Calvin’s showing from under her ripped bleached jeans, and the next day she’s rocking a tight black leather dress and heeled sandals.
Fem!Eddie would so be into alternative music, like Lana Del Rey, King Princess, Frank Ocean, Clairo, Billie Eilish... Can you picture Eddie being one of those girls that went to Halsey’s concert and asked her to be her first kiss? Because I can.
Fem!Richie would definitely be the “if a song is a bop, it’s a bop” type of person. If you open her Spotify, as Stefon says, this place has everything. Tyler, The Creator, The 1975, Justin Bieber, Jorja Smith... The list goes on and on. It’s because I’m flexible, she says. Well, that one time she pulled her leg trying to stretch in PE and couldn’t walk for a week would beg to differ.
As for them coming to terms with their sexuality, I have a whole list of scenarios in my head, don’t even get me started.
With Eddie, she kind of always just knew, but tried to hide it, especially while she was still living with her mother.
After moving away to college and seeing how open people were about their sexuality there, Eddie grew more confident, not shying away and locking up whenever girls apart from Beverly and Richie complimented her, but she still didn’t have enough courage to actually come out (until one day she did, but that’s another story).
With Richie, in all her life she didn’t really pay attention to anyone, never really thought twice about some guy or girl that subtly tried to hit on her. All of Richie’s attention was always focused only on her friends and maybe, just maybe, a bit more on Eddie.
It finally hit Richie that she’s not only into girls and not into guys, but into Eddie, when Eddie dragged her to Macy’s after earning her first paycheck and almost made the cashier cry because they didn’t have the right size of a dress Eddie really wanted to buy. Just watching her fuming, one second away from stamping both of her feet because the store didn’t have some low quality lilac summer dress, was enough for Richie to finally realize just how in love she was.
As for coming out, I feel like Richie would be the first to tell all of the Losers and then the rest of the world, but with Eddie, she struggled with being open about that part of herself mostly because of her mother, but also anxiety and fear of losing her only friends, even though she knew that they wouldn’t leave her if they found out she was gay, because Eddie’s seen how supportive they were of Richie.(I came up with a whole fic while writing this so if you want to see how I picture lesbian!Reddie coming out, feel free to stop by my ask box!)
The last but not least — fem!Reddie getting together.
Even though my favorite getting together trope is probably “person A walking in on person B and jumping their bones”, I wanted to throw something cute and soft in here, so enjoy 💞
Even after Richie and Eddie come out and the cats are out of the bags, they are both too scared to make a move, because just because she likes girls doesn’t mean she might like me.
So, when they do get together, it’s completely on accident.
Eddie’s teeth has been hurting for a few days now, and she, being the definition of a hypochondriac she is, makes an appointment with the dentist where they tell her that she needs to have one of her wisdom teeth removed as soon as possible.
Rchie drives her to the clinic the next day and waits for Eddie in the waiting room with shitty coffee and some pamphlet on how to avoid STDs just to be met with her barely conscious best friend wrapped in a soft blanket, slurred voice blocked by the cotton balls in her mouth and drugs in her system, and the most adorable, barely understandable comments Eddie makes during all of their way home.
When Richie lays Eddie down on her bed and tucks her in, meaning to let her rest, a weak hand reaches out and tugs on her wrist, wordlessly asking to stay. And who’s Richie to refuse cuddles with her favorite person in the world?
She lays down next to Eddie, who lifts her blanket to let Richie snuggle closer to her and instantly buries her nose in Richie’s neck, signing softly.
Richie smiles when a few minutes later she hears quiet snores, the ones she knows from two years of living with Eddie mean she’s definitely asleep, caressing the small of Eddie’s back where her hand hugs her.
She appears to be wrong though, because suddenly Eddie lifts her head and Richie almost coos at how cute and sleepy she looks, but there’s determination in those honey-brown eyes that throws Richie off-balance.
“You need to rest, Eds. Go back to sleep,” she says softly, hugging Eddie even tighter, but Eddie only shakes her head and looks into Richie’s confused eyes before demanding as seriously as she can with two cotton balls in her mouth: “Did I ever tell you I love you?”
Taken aback, Richie furrows her brows, tries to catch up with what’s happening, already thinking of a way to turn this into a joke because clearly Eddie doesn’t mean it like that. She likes girls, yeah, but she’s never shown any interest in Richie like that, like they might be more than best friends.
“Yeah. Remember that time you forgot your wallet and you were really hungry and I bought you, like, two burritos with extra guac?” Richie jokes, grinning to mask everything she’s feeling right now, from confusion to fear, but Eddie only shakes her head.
“No, that’s not what I meant,” she says, and Richie tries so hard not to freak out because even though Eddie still looks so out of it, the seriousness in her voice and the words falling from her puffy lips are making her feel things.
“What did you mean, then?” she croaks, trying to read the situation, because from the way Eddie’s looking at her right now, she might, might be saying what Richie thinks she’s saying.
“That I love you. Not for those burritos, but for you,” she says and instantly cringes, and Richie barely suppresses a snort because Eddie’s too fucking cute when she’s high on medicine. “That came out cheesy and talking fucking hurts, so please tell me you get what I’m saying,” Eddie whines, and her puppy eyes have always been impossible to resist, so Richie shuts the anxiety and fear already screaming in her mind up and smiles, pulling Eddie even closer.
“I get it, Eds. I love you too.”
The way Eddie’s eyes light up at her words is almost enough to have Richie’s heart bursting out of her chest and falling right into Eddie’s hands, but a moment later Eddie furrows her brows and studies Richie before asking “For realsies? Like, love love?”
Snorting, Richie smiles softly. “Yes, Eddie. For realsies. I love love you”.
This time, Eddie actually squeaks and Richie wants to kiss her so badly, but it’s not the best idea as long as there’s an open wound in Eddie’s mouth. Eddie, as it seems, comes to the same conclusion, her half-lidded gaze falling on Richie’s lips before she sighs.
“I’d kiss you right now if this damn tooth wasn’t cockblocking me,” Eddie mumbles, burrowing her face in Richie’s neck once again, and Richie can’t hold back a delighted chuckle at this side of Eddie that only comes out when she’s not in full control of her mouth before gently kissing her on the forehead.
“Go to sleep, baby. We’ll have plenty of time to do just that and more once you feel better.”
“Okay,” Eddie mumbles into her neck, making Richie shiver a bit, and she feels so happy she could burst and decides that the second Eddie feels better, she’ll do everything in her power to make her feel just as happy as she’s feeling right now.
In conclusion, yeah, I have a lot of feelings about Lesbian!Reddie🥺.

I’m so bored and can’t sleep.  I wasn’t tagged in this but I’ve seen it making the rounds and I’m into it.

Eddie wrote lists. - got a blank space baby (Reddie, Townhouse Love Confession but make it Canon Compliant and i’m so sorry)
Pattern wise, my opening sentences are either super super short or kind of rambly.  Also, I hardly ever start on dialogue.
Favorite first line just as a first line is bolded.
Favorite first line as it plays with the whole fic is italicized.

Yesterday I found this pasta shirt online and made a Reddie shit post about it.
Then I realized I could actually do something cute with this so this happened:
Eddie is so definitely going to regret this. He hasn't been more certain of anything in his life before.
Richie isn't ever going to shut up about it and he's going to annoy the ever-loving hell out of him and Eddie will never get to live this down .
And yet, standing in their kitchen at 8:30 in the morning, slowly drinking his coffee from his favourite mug, Eddie can't stop grinning as he watches the carefully wrapped box that is placed on the kitchen counter in front of him.
Because he knows Richie is going to freaking love it.
A moment later a pair of strong arms wrap themselves around Eddie's middle.
Speaking of the devil.
Eddie automatically leans back into Richie's warm embrace, closing his eyes at the scent of Richie's aftershave. "Morning, old man."
Richie only burries his head in Eddie's shoulder with a muffled groan. "I feel like somebody used my head as a piñata while I was asleep."
Eddie can't help but laugh. "I told you it was a stupid idea to challenge Bev. And on your birthday, too. That woman drank you under the table last night."
"Bev did not drink me under the table. I totally won." Richie sounds like a pouty child and Eddie can only scoff at him.
At 42 Richie is still as dorky and adorable as he was almost 30 years ago.
"You know, Schadenfreude really isn't a good look on you."
Eddie almost snorts into his coffee and decides to put the mug down. "You're so full of shit, Richie."
There's no heat behind his words.
Richie gives him a kiss on his cheek. "You love me."
And who is Eddie to disagree with that. And on Richie's birthday of all days.
"You can unwrap your present now, if you want."
Eddie yelps and starts shoving at Richie's face when he feels him nibbling at his neck. "Not me, you idiot!"
Of course that doesn't do much to get Richie off of him. If anything, the grip around his waist tightens as his boyfriend starts snickering into his shoulder.
"You know well enough that you should always clarify what you mean when you're talking to me, Spaghetti."
Eddie pushes the blue box from the counter into Richie's chest. "Open THIS, you heathen! The others are still in the house!"
"They're sleeping. I checked."
Eddie doesn't elaborate on that and thankfully neither does Richie, finally letting go of Eddie in favour of focusing his attention on the task at hand.
Richie starts pulling at the bow with his big hands until the silver ribbon comes lose.
He looks up at Eddie with a cute grin and for a moment it feels like they are teens again,  spending Richie's 15th birthday at the clubhouse and being the first ones awake in the morning.
Eddie closes his eyes at the warm feeling spreading in his chest at the thought.
"Oh my god."
As he opens his eyes again, Richie has already opened the box, button-up shirt held high in the air.
"I am honestly so madly in love with you right now."
With it's pasta theme and the ugly orange colors it's tacky as hell and Eddie really can't help hating it a little bit.
Richie looks absolutely delighted and Eddie almost stumbles at the force with which Richie throws himself at him.
Their kiss starts out clumsy, with wide smiles and laughter, but Eddie doesn't even think twice when Richie pulls him flush agains his chest while deepening the kiss. Eddie automatically pulls him closer by his collar and tries not to lose it at the sound Richie makes at that. He eventually backs Eddie against the kitchen counter before pulling him on top with a swift move, making Eddie moan into his mouth.
It's hot and everything Eddie's ever wanted but they don't get much further than that, when they hear a voice from across the kitchen.
"Shit. Sorry guys." Mike.
Eddie freezes against Richie's lips and he can immediately feel his face burning up. Getting caught making out in the kitchen like a pair of horny teenagers hadn't really been something on Eddie's bucket list.
"They're sleeping, my ass, Richie."
Richie only throws his head back with a groan. "Mike, go away and let me enjoy my birthday morning."
Of course that's when Stan walks in. "You assholes can fool around once we're gone, like normal people."
"Boring." Richie presses one last quick kiss to Eddie's lips before helping him back off the counter and flipping Stan off while walking over to his friends.
Eddie's still too embarresed to do much of anything, when Bev walks up to him with a smile, helping herself to a fresh cup of coffee. "It's nice to see you both so happy. It's cute." It's reassuring, at least a little bit, and when Eddie turns around, he finds his friends laughing as Richie throws on his new shirt.
It looks as ridiculous as he had expected and when Richie looks over to him with a wink, Eddie thinks that he wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
@richiezvoid look what I did!

Reddie Fanfic Masterlist
the amazing works that have changed my life (also using this to organize myself)
tear it with your teeth by belby | 32.1k
"We could leave this place, Eddie," Richie says. "God, imagine that? Not having to live in this trash dump anymore. We could go wherever we wanted. A different place every night."
notes: reddie from ages 15-18. this one hurts (but it’s incredibly beautiful)
It's Not My Fault! by shanisafan | 92.7k
“I want to be there for you when things get hard just as I know you will be there for me. Ben wrote his poem by me talking about how much I think I’m not good enough for you.”
“Richie -“ Eddie squeezed the other boy’s hands.
“I’m serious Eddie. I’m not. I’m selfish to take someone off the market who is as great as you. So I want to thank you for everything. Here’s to you and whatever happens next.”
notes: read this for the characterization wow! perfect amount of fluff and angst
Lovesong Series by WaxAgent | 164.9k
They're all connected, sure, but nothing comes close to the iron bonds between Richie Tozier and Eddie Kaspbrak; they have their ups and their downs, but they always have each other. A look at their lives from leaving Derry to being dragged back by a promise than both of them had long forgotten.
notes: this work has not been updated since 2018 but it is incredibly amazing, mind blowing and i just wanna cry and talk about it with someone, please suffer with me
the years go by like days by georgiestauffenberg |121.9k
It’s Eddie he wants to get a hold of, though, and he does, tucking him under his arm, and ruffling his hair, making him laugh. He’s startled when Eddie looks at him with such happy, shining eyes. And, for a split-second, he’s tempted to kiss him right then, right there in front of everyone.
He wants to. Badly. He doesn’t.
He leans in, instead, and he smacks a loud, wet kiss to Eddie’s cheek, punctuating it with a “mwah!” He does it again and again. “I’m so proud of my little Eds Spagheds!”
“Get off me!” Eddie says, laughing and shoving him away, swatting at his hands.
AU. in the 27 years in-between, Richie and Eddie forget a lot, but they don't forget each other.
notes: THE reddie fic
in the heat of the summer (you're so different from the rest) by kaboomslang | 109.5k
There’s a heatwave in L.A., the first time Richie sees Eddie naked.
or
One very hot year in the life of two idiots in love, working shit out.
notes: the author’s Meticulous with a capital M. one of my favorite characterizations of richie! and the love confessions are lovely!!
not exactly where i need to be (and yet it seems so close) by varnes | 49.3k
Richie runs all the way to Eddie’s. He has a bike but he can’t remember, just now, where he put it. Everything feels real, feels — the gravel hurt his shoeless feet, his lungs burn when he gets tired, there’s a cut on his chin that aches a little. It feels real but things always felt real, with It.
You can’t trust how you feel or what you see. That’s the core of the terror of It. That everything is real and nothing is real and all of it can kill you.
Richie clambers up the drainage pipe and shoves open Eddie’s window. He’s afraid to look. He’s afraid of what It has prepared for him.
But it’s nothing. It’s just Eddie, small, young, cast still on his arm. He’s curled up on his side and is using the cast as the world’s worst pillow.
“Holy shitballs what the fucking shit,” breathes Richie, lunging forward to fling himself on top of Eddie’s sleeping form. “Don’t scream, don’t scream, hey — Eddie! Eddie, shut the fuck up, you’re going to wake your mom, it’s me! It’s me.”
---
OR: Richard Tozier goes to sleep on a plane in 2016, and wakes up in 1989.
notes: time travel AU, i’d sell my soul to the devil if it meant getting to read this for the first time again ahhhhh
as the ghost begins to bleed by ShowMeAHero | 208.3k
Richie refuses to let Eddie stay dead. When he says he'll do anything to get Eddie back, he means anything.
notes: THE canon fix-it au
maybe i’m breaking up with myself by Anonymous | 59.3k
Underneath Derry, Richie Tozier is caught in the Deadlights. At that moment, across the country in the thick summer heat of Los Angeles, Henley Tozier passes out cold.
Three minutes pass, and Eddie Kaspbrak is impaled through the chest. At that exact same time, Atticus Kaspbrak clutches at his stomach, where a knife-sharp inexplicable pain is blooming.
notes: eddie has a son and richie has a daughter. a fix-it & everyone lives au, with the CUTEST children the losers could have. love love love
Skeleton Key to My Heart by Amuly | 31.2k
After they kill that fucking clown, Richie is left with a broken arm, a list of bad baseball comedy jokes, and one beautiful, dedicated nurse by the name of Eddie Kaspbrak. But then Richie's manager Steve rushes to his side, and Richie's seeing double as the two most important men in Richie's life square off to see who can Handle Richie Tozier's Shit the best. Which isn't a bad problem to have, in Richie's book--he just wishes they could figure out how to get along.
notes: i love the reddie dynamic in this. i enjoyed reading this so much!!!!

Baby, I'm Counting On You by PuddingTown | 109.7k
When Richie Tozier breezes back into his hometown of Derry, Maine, he’s expecting to see familiar faces. Of course, he’s not expecting to see an old flame chasing around a baby. With a million questions, nowhere to go, and a help wanted ad for a nannying job, he finds himself at the doorstep of Eddie Kaspbrak.
notes: i’ve loved domestic reddie but it’s also angsty. this is (re)self-discovery by richie tozier
ribs by mikeshanlon | 93.9k
Almost every time the lights turn off and they cram in the shitty twin bed, Richie seems to become a different person. Maybe not different, per say, but the stupid jokes and teasing die down, the guard of nonchalance dropping. Eddie feels lucky to see this side of Richie, soft and caring-- vulnerable. It’s not like he hates the other side of Richie, he secretly enjoys their constant banter and his dumb jokes. No, it’s that this side is rare, and it’s something beautiful. Here, safe in the soft flannel sheets, it feels like they are the only two souls for miles, and they can be themselves, and that is terrifying and reassuring all at once.
“I’m gonna miss this. When we go off to college,” Richie admits, the weight behind his words telling Eddie he felt the same about their shared nights.
“Yeah,” Eddie agrees softly, “Me too.”
notes: the losers’ senior year. this has made me laugh pretty hard and cry just as much. makes me nostalgic but in the best way. go give it the love it deserves
Running up that hill by speakslow | 59.6k
When Eddie Kaspbrak's mother gets remarried, she sends him off to Catholic boarding school. Will it be exactly what he pictures: same old prison, new location? Or will it be something else entirely?
my oh my god they were roommates story, loosely inspired by Dead Poets Society (but it's set in the fall of 1992)
notes: the last update was this past week so i read the entire thing again and oh my god let me hug everyone. all the losers are pretty prominent in this and i love that. lowkey enemies to friends to lovers?
