SxF Theory based on ch. 93!!

This is purely based off the small interactions we have with this little old man right here and the relation he may or may not have with anya's past

i think that not only was he a part of the project that Anya was a part of, i think he CREATED the foundation of the technology used to create the chimera experiments with Bond and with Anya's ability to read minds.

It would make a lot of sense as he states that one of the subjects he specializes in is Neurology, the study of the brain.

Also, his character design is very obviously supposed to look like Albert Einstein. Which is super important because Einstein developed the atomic theory that led to the development of the nuclear bomb. Ltrly the most devastating technology created in mankind. And Einstein was recorded to say that he deeply regretted even developing that theory.

So what does that have to do with this guy?

I think that Sigmund Authen theorized and developed the concept of a way to gain a higher neurological prowess. He said that he "dabbled in cultural anthropology," and a specialty in neurology, he was probably touring the world to understand the concept of the brain in different environments and the developmental aspects.

It's shown in a lot of sci-fi media about "unlocking 100% of the brain" and I think Sigmund found a way to do that. He probably showed this research to higher ups with good intentions to develop the human body but of course, the people in power wanted to use this for damaging purposes. And the fact he was pretty much MIA during the war that his wife didnt even know wtf he was doing just supports the timeline. Also, him being at the *start* of the project would make it plausible on why Sigmund and Anya wouldnt recognize each other.

I think Sigmund saw or found out about the inhumane experiments done in order to fulfill his theory and wanted to put a stop to it.

BUT

the head of the project (or whatever) stopped him and used his own research against him by wiping his memory of the events. Im guessing a very sketchy lobotomy that left him in the state he is in now where he forgets a LOT of what is happening most of the time. Which kinda shows how Anya can only get fragmented thoughts and very old memories when she reads his mind.

I had this in the back burner but this ^^^ panel from the latest chapter pretty much solidified it for me. Especially with the parallels of regret with Einstein's atomic theory. Also him saying that makes me think he prbly remembers fragments of the project or the feeling of regret was too strong for him to regret from that moment.

Either way, I cant wait to see more chapters! It definitely looks like we're continuing this Anya-centered arc with the way things are developing!

I remember there was a headcanon about Luis attending a school that had secret connections with Umbrella. Now I can't help but think if Leon and Luis have a kid, they would do extensive background checks on schools their kid would attend, because they'll want to make sure none of those schools were associated with Umbrella/have ties to corrupt companies/organizations.

Thank you so much for sending in an ask!!!!!!! But yesyesyesyesyes I know the headcannon you’re talking about!!!!!! From memory I think either @geddy-leesbian or @hamartia-grander made some pretty extensive posts going into this idea??? Either way its really fascinating to think about!!!!

For those of you who don’t know, the headcannon/theory basically revolves around the fact that Luis was able to graduate school seemingly pretty quickly/was considered a ‘child prodigy’, and that in-universe theres a few characters who attended schools created specifically by Umbrella to essentially indoctrinate them; one of the most notable being the Umbrella Executive Training School that William and Wesker attended.

Umbrella has a few random facilities like this (like the Rockford Prison) And considering the fact that Europe seemed to be a relatively big hub for Umbrella, it DEFINITELY wouldn’t be much of a stretch to say that they’d have a similar school with the intent of training/indoctrinating ‘child prodigies’ to work for them in the future, and it’d be even less pf a stretch to assume that Luis, who came from a VERY sheltered religious background, would be a very easy subject to pick (cuz! yippee!! capitalist grooming am i right or am i right!!) It’d also absolutely lend a hand to why Luis grabbed as many items as he could and just BOOKED IT immediately after finding out what their plans for Nemesis REALLY were (I could talk about that part of his life/that realisation for HOURS oh my GOD)

EDIT I FORGOT TO ADD: Umbrella on some level does work quite like a cult. I’ll link a post that does a MUCH better job explaining it than I could in the replies of this post, but creating facilities for the sole purpose of indoctrinating already vulnerable young people into being on board with your project and isolating them from friends and family is like. Cult behaviour 101 BFNEHENDJDJ which is VERY painful to think about how Luis got roped into cults THREE times. Valdelobos before Saddler showed up wasn’t EXPLICITLY a cult, but considering it was isolated from modern society and heavily Catholic theres a strong argument to be made- then of course theres Umbrella- then of course he was blackmailed into working with Los Illuminados. I’ll make a post going deeper into that SOMEDAY, but like,,,, just the tragedy of his life being one big cycle he cant break is just. So devastating man are you KIDDING ME

I’m not like. SUUUUUPER knowledgeable on super obscure lore stuff like locations/facilities etc, so if you have a question about that specifically @highball66 would probably be a better person to ask!!!!

But again we know like. NOTHING about the inbetween time between Luis running away from Valdelobos as a child and him popping up as one of Umbrella’s top scientists other than the fact that he was a child prodigy and he excelled in college- hell even the dates/ages get kinda wonky at times BHFNEHENEUDNSIS but also this is Resident Evil where things get wonky a lot of the time so!!! Eh!!!!!!!

I have my own personal theory on what he did during that time inbetween I would be SO MORE THAN HAPPY to ramble about HDNEHENDJDN

BUT TO THE POINT OF YOUR QUESTION!!! YES!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!! Plus just in general with Leon having a lot more enemies than friends, doing background checks on teachers or whatever would probably seem like paranoia to an outsider but to them?????? Nah you can NEVER be safe. Plus Leon’s like, a government agent- he obviously doesn’t have a TON of autonomy but I can imagine he at least has SOME power to dig up information on people. AND, the both of them literally went through hell and back to save Ashley, who was kidnapped right under the presidents nose- So like!! Hell yeah they’d be paranoid abt where their kids going man!!!!!!!! Rightfully so I think!!!

I've seen your post about Ron's positive/underrated traits, one of them being kindness and how if he was a girl, he would be characterised as a caretaker. However, that trait is overlooked by most of the fandom. Do you think the fact that Ron is a boy has something to do with it (since kindness and being caring are generally considered "feminine" virtues and men with "feminine" traits are either overlooked or looked down upon)? If he was a girl, would his love and devotion be appreciated more?

Its a mix. Mostly they are being ignored bcz people don't remember them. Why? Bcz they watch movies/read out of character fanfics more than they read books.

Ron helps Harry to put his pajama on in COS.

Ron wants to make Hagrid tea when Hagrid is upset bcz that's what his mom does.

Ron forces Hermione to eat a decent meal when she is ignoring her dinner for study.

Ron cuts bacons and puts them on Harry's plate when he is hurting from Umbridge's scar.

Now. People don't remember them. Partly bcz they don't read books. Partly bcz they DON'T want to like him. They focus on what they want to see and exaggerate those ten times. They only remember how much abusive he is to Hermione and how he 'betrayed' Harry.

It's same with Ron and Hermione. Its always 'oH hOw mUcH tHeY fIgHt' but never how many times Ron jumps into her defence, how much times she spends time with Ron without Harry, how Hermione apologises to him, him apologises to her, how Hermione stands up against twins for him, how she kisses on his cheek to distract him from the song Malfoy wrote, how she is absolutely devastated when he isn't with her in DH. (They do focus on that scene though. Very much. Just in a different way. They use it to say he 'abandoned' them) how much happy she is when He isn't with lavender anymore, how many times he consoles her effortlessly, how many times he calls her amazing and brillaint. Etc etc

People don't want to love Ron. Bcz

1. He is red head, poor, comes from a working class family, wears hand me down stuff. West romanticizes/sympathizes with the rich. Not with the poor. There's HEAVY classism in the Harry Potter fandom.

2. Most Men see themselves as Harry. Most Women see themselves as Hermione. And they don't exactly want friends of Harry. They want followers. Who would bindly worship and follow him. They want someone who would worship the ground Hermione walks on. Needless to say Ron doesn't do either of those two things. Lmao

3. Women want to bang whatever character they personally fancy and use Hermione as a SI blank slate. So they cant digest Ron as he 'comes in the way' of their fap material fanfics.

4. Ron doesn't have anyone defending him. Whenever Hermione messes up, Hagrid, Luna, the narrative are there to defend her. Heck even Harry defends her once in HBP. When Harry messes up he has the abused orphan card. Plus narrative support and Hermione. Whenever Ron messes up who is there to defend him? If anything narrative doubles down to bash him.

5. Ron's flaws hit home much harder than Harry or Hermione's. Each and everyone atleast once feels jealousy, envy, insecurities in their life. But if you are white, will you understand Malfoy's racism? Or if you aren't an orphan can you understand Harry being self centred? These are superficial flaws. Ron's are REAL flaws. Peoole don't want to be reminded of their flaws.

Ron gets very much injustice from this fandom. People don't value him. Forget about treating him as 1/3rd of the main characters, they don't even give him the minimum respect. Ron's EVERY positive thing is underrated. Each and every. Not only kindness. His flaws are exaggerated, he is bashed, ridiculed, maligned, annihilated. Fandom Ron is an OC. just like fandom Malfoy is an OC.

If he was a girl he would have got Ginny treatment. Ginny gets maligned for coming in the way of Harry ships. Ron would have been treated the same way.

ok more of a debate but I think that the scene where the spy girls find out Lou is a prototype is some what significant.

So from rough memory I'm gonna just briefly explain what happened. Tuesday is still kinda ditsy about the whole thing, her main focus is on whether that's a bad thing. Lydia doesn't seem very fazed but still shocked to an extent. BUT (to me at least) Kitty seems kind of uncomfortable. She's clearly seen kind of backing away.

I think Kitty felt uncomfortable because she felt lied and betrayed to. Well I mean yea obviously all of them would have felt like that but she seemed to be the most loyal to him in a way. Yes, Tuesday and Lydia were too, but Tuesday was mostly distracted by Lou's charms and good looks, Lydia seemed to be kind of meh about it. But Kitty seemed the most dedicated to him? Like this guy she works for turns out to be a fake? everyone's shocked yea, but based on her body language she seemed extremely uncomfortable and disturbed.

Maybe it just clicked in her head faster that Lou literally manipulated all of them to think that the uglydolls were bad. Probably most heavy on the spy girls because they did Lou's dirty work in sabotaging them and all that. Also another piece of evidence I have to support the fact that Kitty was the most loyal to Lou is that she was not easily distracted. Like when they first say Ox, Lydia was about to start talking about how she loved bunnies while Kitty was focused on the main goal.

There's so much other things I have to say but I CANT REMEMBER

stuff under the cut, i feel like i'm going to ramble A LOT (we gotta love digging in too deep into some silly kids film WEEEEE)

i just rewatched the scene, and yeah i totally see that. i first thought that kitty was uncomfortable cause lou said he was a prototype (which seems like the dolls consider it a bad thing) and called them all "sycophants", but even before that she's got her eyebrows furrowed and her body language is closed in and kinda on the defensive.

i personally feel like the girls have been working for lou for years, as that would make sense as to why they would feel so betrayed by lou. if they were new dolls, they wouldn't care as much, just like the other prettydolls.

i was thinking that perhaps lou wanted a message man (or rather spy) of sorts. sure, he has the robots, but they were there to assist in training only. he wanted a doll to do more dirty work, like spying and receiving information (e.g. learning about gossip etc) so he could gain more power and influence over the other dolls. so, he hired kitty (perhaps since he noticed how strategic and calculated kitty is through her training etc). and since kitty was friends with lydia and tuesday, and was probably inseparable from them, lou hired the three of them. that would make more sense if lydia and tuesday just tagged along for their friend since, and as you said, kitty normally is the one to take action whilst tuesday and lydia are normally distracted.

...but whilst on this topic, i'd like to bring up another thing. i suppose that, yeah, the moments after the gauntlet do show a turning point in the spy girls' (and especially kitty's) trust towards lou, as well as when lou says something along the lines of "and if you think that you're going to take that away from me, you're just as empty-headed as the rest of them".

but there's another moment when you see kitty's trust waver. when lou breaks mandy's glasses.

mandy is obviously devastated, but look at kitty! the other spy girls seem unbothered, but kitty seems upset. and i don't think it's because of lou breaking mandy's glasses, as she was still smugly grinning as lou took them off and smashed them, but she's rather upset over mandy's devastated expression. it seems like kitty genuinely cares about mandy, and seeing her upset makes kitty upset too.

so i think that lou, kitty and mandy all had a close bond. and in this moment, kitty is probably internally debating which side she's on, because she seems to care about both lou and mandy.

on a side note, another moment where kitty seems to care about mandy is trying to get her to join in with the girls' conversation when they first appear.

it's a small gesture, but it seems like mandy is the outsider of the group, and kitty is trying to get her to be more involved. how sweet <3

back to the recycling scene, kitty expresses regret in this shot too. tuesday is like "uhh what just happened", lydia is like "HE DID NOT JUST DO THAT" and kitty is genuinely rethinking EVERYTHING. it looks like she's almost reaching out, thinking about holding lou back to stop him. i doubt the spy girls have seen lou go to such lengths before, as recycling was only recently opened up again. so seeing this must be such a shock to kitty, and probably made her uncomfortable of lou after that point.

something im really enjoying about the events happening in the latest chapters is that because Twilight isnt able to get involved because he isnt being informed and hes a full city away. is that in the aftermath hes going to be confronted with his two ideologies clashing. because yes, hes a spy that prioritizes getting the mission done for the greater good, his greater good being creating a world were kids wont have to cry alone like he did. in this stance his and WISE goals align. however he also cares about children on the micro level. he cares about the safety and well being of each kid he comes across. and this comes into direct conflict with WISE, who are willing to disregard the safety of kids if it doesnt help aide them in their greater plans of peace

Here WISE not caring about a busload of kids. saying that the police can handle this. and this is something Twilight himself tried (and ultimately failed to do) to prioritize his mission over the safety of one child when Anya was kidnapped in the beginning of the story.

Had it not been for the fact that Anya and Damian were on that bus, which jeopardized Operation Strix, WISE would have left it to the police. which isnt a bad thing its just where WISE and Twilight's desires dont always agree.

So when Twilight finally does learn about what happened with the bus and Anya hes going to be DEVASTATED. because as Twilight he was useless, being on a different mission, and a Wise agent he was useless, by not having a buss full of kids be on WISE radar. Hes Westalias GREATEST spy and he couldnt protect his little girl when she needs him most. thats going to HURT him, especially a man who tries to control and account for every possible outcome and blames himself for every failing.

however where hes going to fail as a Spy i feel like hes going to be reminded that being a spy isnt the only way to protect and make Anya feel safe.

Twilights mother wasnt a soldier or combat vet or spy or anyone of note. she wasnt someone who could physically protect twilight from the bombs raining down on them every night. yet as a child he felt SAFE with his mother because he inspired that feeling in him just by being there for him. sure it was a false sense of security, but as a child thats all he needed. and its still true to him years later as an adult when he cant even remember his mothers face, he still remembers how safe she made him feel in those scary moments.

and i think post this arc Twilight is going to be reminded how important this kind of strength will be for Anya. because while he couldnt protect her from the terrorists, or the bombs or the SSS police, he can hold her and comfort her and tell her “everything is going to be ok” as she falls alseep.

honestly i wouldnt be surprised if this arc ended with Anya asking if she can sleep is Papa’s bed with him because she doesnt want to sleep alone. and Twilight letting her, remembering how it made him feel as a child, and allowing Anya into his room, being another metaphor for slowly letting his walls.down.

because sure he failed to protect Anya as the spy Twilght, but he will succeed to protect her as her father Loid. because “Thats the sort of strength that will finish the job”

How will the reunion between Akari and Juliana go? Or Carmine?

So this is like, two years post Indigo Disk at this point. Carmine is about 19 here, and Juliana/Florian as being 17 and Kieran as 16 here.

Carmine travels for her job, she works with researchers as a sort if body guard against wild pokemon in dangerous areas they're studying. Pretty much what she did with Briar as a student. So she is out of the region when Akari gets reverse eebied back. They're staying with Drayden in Opelucid City, since Ingo is staying there too (and Emmet he's not going anywhere). After Carmine finally finds out what's up from Drayton she demands to facetime immediately to see Kieran.

Akari vaguely remembers her, their memories are sort of coming back. They just feel kind of seperared from them. Staring at the face of god kind of scrambles your brain.

So they initially reunite over facetime but it's not exactly a coherant conversation on Carmine's end. She's too busy bawling so Drayton winds up having to have a private conversation with her about the situation. After that she drops everything calls her grandparents to tell them whats up and then THAT'S it's own situation becauase poor grandma thought she was having a stroke when they heard the news.

When she gets back to Unova and finally sees Kieran in person she's bawling again and appologizing to them like Drayton did so Akari is finally like why does everyone keep apologizing to me? I dont get it. So then she's even more upset lol. But Akari really matured in Hisui and does kind of remember a big sister so there super happy someone they're related to actually wants them. (Akari went through a phase where their memories of indigo disk era had them thinking they were a terrible person and everyone back home was better off without them)

She also has a few of Kieran's pokemon on her like Furret and Hydrapple and they are very emotional seeing Kieran again. It takes her a few days because she's so overwhelmed but she eventually reaches out to Briar and the Protagonist to let them know Kieran's alive.

Im just gonna use Juliana in this to make it easier, but Juliana is shook. Like she's moved on with her life, mourned Kieran, still has nightmares about the incident. Kieran is the ghost that haunts her. So she's beside herself too and Carmine gives her time. She tells her friends who like, all vaguely know Kieran through osmosis since the whole thing kind of broke her, and they help her work through what she's feeling. Same with her mom, her mom keeps a picture of Kieran in their house even though she never knew them. But like the fact that this kid died and her own kid almost did too is pretty devastating to think about.

So Juliana facetimes Carmine and Carmine shows her Kieran (they don't talk yet, the whole situation is a lot for these two) and she starts crying too lol. She's like "do you think he'd want to talk to me?" And carmine is like "well, they've changed a lot but its more like. Theyre back to their old self just, more sure seeming? Also i honestly dont know if they remember you"

So its a whole shitshow essentially. Just a bunch of people navigating a difficult situation. Akari is kind of facinated by Juliana like "wowzers i was friends with someone so cool? I cant believe i was so mean to her i should appologize" and theyre like kieran i think sort of dying kind of negates that you're fine.

Then comes the big bomb that Akari has a SMART PHONE. That is the biggest change of all. Cannot believe you went to the past and came back with knowledge of memes.

Eventually the two talk and they're like pen pals for a while (through texting) while Kieran is healing and doing rehab for some injuries in Opelucid. Carmine is staying in an air bnb there to help out. Eventually Juliana gets the courage to come visit and when they meet she's half crying in joy half having a bi panic because Akari is very pretty.

bit of a weird ask but I saw a twitter post saying they were 'devastated' over what frank said in an interview about performing/writing in ls dunes compared to some other bands (theyre assuming that the 'other bands' means mcr because they cant think of the 20+ other bands that hes been in) and after reading it a second time it doesn't even seem that negative?? it just talks about different processes and his excitement for dunes, but I still feel down anyway now because of that reaction, and it really makes me doubt that part of the fandom's faith in the band and its members im kinda close to quitting the fandom because of this and idk how the tumblr/twitter gang here survives it y'all are troopers, im unsure how to avoid that kind of doomposting

sorry i totally forgot to answer this the other day, i hope you see this!

but yeah, i see the same thing and it is. pretty irritating haha. it speaks to the unrealistic traits and behaviours fandom has applied to these ppl over the years/decades - which are harmless enough on the surface, but left unchecked you end up with doomposting or disproportionate levels of discourse when one of them doesn't behave the way their textpostified personalities would have you believe hahaha. if frank isn't anything but reverential towards mcr then he must hate it. if gerard puts time and work into his artistic and career pursuits that aren't related to mcr he must be giving up on the band like he supposedly did in 2012. if ray, who hasn't done a single interview since 2016, isn't on stage showing frank public affection or admiring him on twitter, he must be bossy and arrogantly taking all the glory for mcr's guitar parts and musicality. if mikey does anything it's gotta have something to do with gerard or mcr because obvs he doesn't exist outside the band etc etc. again none of these things are like. problematic or bad**, just kind of. annoying to engage with as an adult in the space i go to enjoy myself hahaha.

but this specific discussion abt frank implicitly dissing mcr also cropped up after that podcast frank did with travis, where he discussed writing music with ls dunes vs every other band/project he's been involved in. which, let's remember, is a fucking lot. how many albums has frank made or been part of? too many to easily count. only about four or five of those were with my chemical romance. ls dunes is only set apart from the rest because they're currently active after mcr's huge reunion, and they're a supergroup so they're getting a lot of press attention. people have never batted an eye in the past when frank has discussed how great it is to be working with this or that musician on this or that album - it's just the timing of ls dunes and our own high hopes for new mcr music that make people take this one in particular so personally.

on top of that... we've always known mcr has a fraught and stressful writing process??? that is like. a major part of the lore? we're all compelled by the insane amount of unlikely success mcr achieved in their careers, and by the fact that they were always controversial. we reblog quotes about gerard saying mcr's purpose was always to be against something, to undermine expectations, to infiltrate, contaminate etc. i thought this was something we were all drawn to about mcr? so i'll never understand the shock and disappointment when frank makes the simple statement that writing with ls dunes is easier, less stressful, and more lighthearted than writing with mcr. like...duh it is? mcr have always been open about how much they put into writing albums - and also about how they're proud of what they created, and that they consider each other cherished family.

the most annoying part for me is when people take quotes about frank working with travis and twist them into some kind of dig at/criticism of ray. i can only assume these people aren't used to working with others in a creative capacity, especially long term, because i just totally can't understand where it comes from lol. as someone who's read/watched every guitar-related mcr interview i've ever been able to get my hands on: ray and frank have literally never been anything other than fully complimentary of, respectful to, and affectionate with one another. ray was far from the first guitarist frank ever worked with and leagues from the only one. also, creative partnerships are extremely complex and every one is completely unique, with it's own strengths and difficulties. if ray and frank didn't love playing with each other they wouldn't have done it for years and years. that doesn't mean frank can't vocally love playing with other guitarists??? these things are not contradictory and appreciating aspects of one creative partnership is not equivalent to bad-mouthing a different one? like that is just not how it works skdkdjd

anyway i think a lot of it comes down to the fact that, for us, we see these people as parts of my chemical romance. naturally, because that's the reason we know they exist! but all of these people live rich and full and complex lives like any other person. the only parts of those lives that we generally see much of are the my chemical romance parts. we look for mcr in everything they say, which is understandable but unrealistic. all we need to do it keep that in mind imo

**(tho ppl's tendency to pit ray and frank against each other for some reason, which used to be a way common but is unfortunately a sentiment i'm starting to see crop up again in some places, definitely can get. suspicious and uncomfortable. especially considering that frank is the fan favourite so these pointless comparisons tend to err in his favour, and in either direction they tend to be very shallow and uninformed anyway. but that's a separate conversation)

wow i literally did not intend to turn this into a giant essay im so sorry. kudos if you made it this far lol. and i feel you anon, it's discouraging and puts a bad taste in my mouth when i come to this fandom for fun and fulfillment. i wish i had better advice because im feeling a little similar but just try to remind yourself that other people's opinions are just that. i find it helps if you can curate your own dash/feed or make friends in more discussion-friendly spaces like dms or gcs or discord servers. or even a priv twitter account with a few like-minded mutuals where you can vent ur shared frustrations over things without making it a whole big deal HAHAHA. the less time you spend scrolling thru ppl's public posts and the more time you spend diving into interviews, podcasts, videos, the web archive etc to detach yourself a little from group fandom-think the better you'll probably feel about mcr tbh! also long as you have friends or close mutuals that's all that matters imo <3

Grief: Kai and Jay

I chose to focus on those two because of one sole reason: the IMMENSE contrast between the ways Jay and Kai handle grief. Complete opposites.

before i Start i wanna say I don’t have anything against jay, I love him too guys

Jay, time and time again, shows self centeredness in times of grief (again, not saying it’s his fault that’s just how he copes) He leads himself to believe that only he ever loved this person, and that no on else feels the same way. jay is also very expressive- he cries, he mourns, he is verbal throughout his grief. for example, he talks to water in order to feel some grasp of nya close to him- it shows how expressive he his with his longing for her. furthermore, two more examples:

the widely known one: Kai and Jays fight. JAY is the one who suggested they shouldn’t be a team anymore, he is the one who started the fight, and he’s the one who said no one loved/missed nya BUT him.

now, one might say

“But Kai was inconsiderate! He knocked down Jay’s water glass!”

lemme tell you buddy. jay shouldn’t be talking to water glasses in the FIRST place. secondly, this was kai’s way of showing concern, and allow me to remind you that kai still bothered to show concern for jay, when even before the fight jay was saying things like “only I miss nya” “I love her” “we are nothing without her”

secondly, did u guys notice the immense regret and sadness when kai knocked his glass over?

LOOK AT KAI’S EXPRESSION. he is DEVASTATED. he didn’t MEAN to. and on top of that, he is closing his eyes. if you’re a total kai observer, like I am, you’ve noticed that he looks away or dissociates if situations are too emotionally overbearing for him (nyas death, both times, when chen tells him about the fact that his parents might be evil and left them on purpose, etc etc). kai even said sorry, in a heartbreaking tone. he UNDOUBTEDLY would have apologized more profusely if jay didn’t attack immediately.

the other example is Season four, episode two. The ninja were in chens place discussing Zane’s death. jay says “I moved on. I feel guilt. These are not good feelings!” again, kai feels like he is being indirectly attacked, due to jay subtly suggesting that only he feels guilt. kai then says, “You think you feel bad? Imagine how I feel!”

and you might think oh but Kai is being self centered now. no. He’s not. Because remember what Lloyd told him before? Lloyd said Kai was selfish, for wanting to die instead of Zane. Kai felt suppressed and used jays words as a chance in desperation to vocalize some of his pain because he had no other chance to. And every time kai stated ANYTHING related to Grief, it’s automatically considered selfish whereas when jay does it it’s totally fine. kai’s feelings are ALWAYS being dismissed.

Kai handles grief destructively. He drinks, blames himself, mentally tortures himself. He literally has never cried in front of the others and silences his grief because he is criticized for it, especially by jay. It’s not that he isn’t vocal, it’s the fact that he CANT be. He’s SCARED to be.

both were in immense pain, but, and I literally don’t even know how many times I’ve said this, but the show needs to properly address this problem. kai being portrayed as selfish during grief is UNFAIR, and does not make sense AT ALL, when everything he says or does contrasts ‘selfishness’.

my thoughts and feelings about jedi survivor (spoilers ahead)

ok so i've finished the storyline of jedi survivor and i thought i would express my many feelings about this amazing game (in case i wasn't obvious lol, i LOVED it.)

so the game takes place 5 years after jedi fallen order, and of course lots of things have happened between JFO and JS, one of which is the crew went their separate ways and it becomes clear that cal wasnt happy with that. eventually they all reunite and everything is nice and there is hope and then you remember this is star wars and it's set during the empire and so that hope turns to dust real quick and it's AGONIZING.

GOD i can't stop thinking about bode and his betrayal i dont remember the last time i was so fucking shocked over a character's betrayal, i was never shocked with anakin because uhhh yeah he was always meant to be darth vader lol, but with bode??? i did NOT see it coming. it especially sucks because i really liked him. and the fact that he used to be a JEDI???? THAT FUCKING SHOOK ME TO THE CORE. i feel so bad for his daughter OH my god :( she lost her parents at such a young age i want to cry (I LOVE that merrin especially tries to help and comfort her because she can relate im going to sob)

cere junda.....oh man. oh god. my love for cere is endless and im still processing her death (YES I KNOW SHES A FICTIONAL CHARACTER I CANT HELP HOW I FEEL LOL) i actually already kinda knew she was going to die because i saw gifs but i feel like i would have been even MORE upset if i didnt know because OH my god.........the darth vader and cere fight scene was SO cool though like tragedy aside i loved being able to do that omg you cant really properly fight darth in JFO and i loved that you could this time while playing as cere

god cal crying while holding her body wrecked me.....i wont be forgetting that anytime soon, if ever.

CAL AND MERRIN ARE ROMANTICALLY INVOLVED OH MY GOD I LOVE THEM SO MUCH im gonna admit and say i never called myself a cal/merrin shipper but i HAVE loved their dynamic and i love romance so im definitely shipping them now lol (MERRIN BEING THE FIRST TO INSTIGATE THEIR KISS.....WE LOVE TO SEE IT)

greez........i love greez :) i DO want to know what happened to his arm because OH my god wtf anyway i love that he has a saloon, good for him. this game made me love him even more. he just loves his found family :((( AND OH MY GOD HE WAS SO HEARTBROKEN AFTER CERE I WANT TO THROW UP

this is getting absurdly song omg sorry lol im sure im forgetting some things but these are the most significant moments that happened and i wont be forgetting anytime soon lol

also btw i straight up cried during the funeral scene which is the last scene that plays before the credits. the force theme played which probably contributed to my tears lol

anyway the ending was perfect, this game is perfect, the emotional devastation is perfect, the gameplay is perfect, i cannot recommend this game ENOUGH. if you like star wars and souls-like games. if you've read this far please feel free to reblog and say "so true op" in the tags lol

Lilith- the fact that she's a trans woman obvi but she is trans and queer and all that shit as Lea so that's a cop out. Hers is how she has never truly processed things. ever since she got bit the years have blurred and she doesn't know 78 from 09 well because Am had the same haircut or whatever and she thinks she's been going crazy for so long she's horrified about how bad it is

Marr - Ever since she got cursed to be unable to do the things she loves ( makeup, hair, acting, singing ) she has acted really chill about it and she knows that she hasn't done them in so long so she's fallen out of love but god when things get bad she will cry for hours after trying to sing a song. it devastates her even if parts of that curse have become regular parts of her life, like her makeup being messed up is part of her brand, some days she wants to just look classically pretty and she wants to feel like the woman she used to be and it breaks her.

Am- Context is in my world vampires acquire parts of their greatest fear and desire. for this you gotta know Am's biggest fear is dying alone and without true love. she has taken refuge in platonic bonds but oh my god the day she found out Wes was her soulmate she broke down. She was incapable of having the love of her life ever. she said she would never meet her soulmate and if she did she would kill them, but you can't kill another vampire as a vampire. it's an act only witches or humans can do. And then shit, they are best fucking friends. the worst part is Wes is bound to her until the world ends. he will never experience love that is true, and because Am is always around he's constantly subconsciously comparing his romance to how he feels for her, which is impossible to beat. she can't tell him.

Wes- he's my least fledged out little guy but oh my god he is so incapable of anything past first base and like that wasn't a part of his curse! he doesn't know what's up he just can't feel a lot of things for people man. only time he remembers being good at sex was with Am but she's probably a sex god or something. he can't figure out love and it's pissinf him off

It's a fact that Inosuke gets a name 7 times wrong first before getting it right. Did Sen ever felt bothered by this as his name is one of the solid thing about his identity that's shaky enough as it is, and does he ever confront Inosuke about it? Did Shin believed the boys, especially Kyo at first, blamed him for what happened to Sen, and did the boys ever dispelled the idea? How did they do so? Who were the servants hired by Kyojuro to look after his father, and how did they react to Senjuro's return? It's canon that Mitsuri is close to the Rengoku boys. Did she ever visit the Butterfly Manor to see Sen? Did she accompanied Kyojuro during his attempts to see Sen? How did they both react when it seemed like Sen is avoiding Kyo and refusing to see him? What did they felt and think? What were each of the Hashiras thinking and feeling when they saw Senjuro emerged with Nezuko out of the box and during the trial where they kept each other grounded from being tempted by the marechi, especially Sanemi, who initiated the trial?

Slightly but Senjuro believes Inosuke gets names wrong for similar reasons he cant remember his past (As in, Inosuke had something happen to him that caused him to struggle with remembering names) so sticks to just correcting him and lets it slide. If it was only his name Inosuke got wrong, he'd be more offended but given Inosuke gets everyone's name wrong, it isn't something he lets get beneath his skin.

Shinjuro prolly did believe they blamed him since its not like thats unreasonable to believe. He did pressure Senjuro to give up training and spent those years he thought Senjuro was dead wondering if he had Senjuro keep training he could've defended himself and left that attack scarred but alive.

Kyojuro and Senjuro dismiss this because Senjuro stopped training not because of Shinjuro's pressure but because it just wasn't his thing. He wasn't able to get a nichirin blade to change color and his heart wasn't devoted to the demon slaying cause.

Of course Mitsuri visited. She visits when she can and chats with him about events that are ongoing or mundane stuff like how does he manage his hair, blah blah blah

She did not see Senjuro avoiding Kyojuro. She didn't think it was appropriate to try and have a reunion with Senjuro while Kyojuro was having his with Senjuro so didn't go until she saw them chatting and on good terms.

I believe I already said before the pillars were shocked and some were devastated given they consider becoming a demon a fate worse than death which it is if you fail to control the burning need for flesh.

Sanemi wondered if Kyojuro would hate him for getting Senjuro killed but decided its his duty as a pillar and colleague of Kyojuro to slay his brother, who has turned into a demon, if Kyojuro is too weak from grief to do it.

hello i am the anon who left the ask a couple days ago about the hand that feeds (i was on chapter 38 at the time i think) and i’ve just finished chapter 47 and i am Devastated. i’m not even mad that i’m devastated tho because the angst was so beautiful and heart wrenching that it hurt in the best kind of way if that makes any sense at all.

the regulus and dorcas friendship ending was so unbelievably upsetting and then the fact that sirius had no idea that regulus still cared and he still doesn’t know now </3

also remus and sirius are breaking my heart i am so sad for them, although screaming at each other in the street after drinking does seem very on brand for them.

and don’t even get me started on dorcas and marlene i will sob. marlene throwing the plates at dorcas and then mary telling dorcas to leave :( also the paragraph where dorcas is questioning what love is and whether or not she is feeling what she is supposed to feel is so beautifully written
