One in Fourteen Million
Word Count: ~4200 words
Ship: Tony Stark x Stark!Reader, Peter Parker x Stark!Reader (platonic)
Warnings: Language, of course. Death of a major character
Summary: Imagine if Tony Stark’s kid had sacrificed themselves instead of Tony.
A/N: This one is quite angsty! It follows the idea of Endgame, but I’ve changed it up a bit. A happy ending is linked at the bottom! Posting a bit early due to me being unwell so I’ve already edited and now I can rest :)

This wasn’t supposed to happen. In every plan that Tony had made, this was not the outcome. Stephen had said that there were fourteen million different ways this could play out and only one of those would end in victory. Tony had expected to be the one to die in the battle against Thanos. What he didn’t expect was for his kid to be the one in fourteen million.
You were on Titan with your dad whenever the snap happened. You looked around in horror as you saw Stephen and some of the guardians turn to dust in seconds.
———
“Mr. Stark? I, I don’t feel so good.” Peter fell into Tony’s arms, clutching at his suit. “I don’t wanna go, sir. Please, I don’t wanna go.” Tony felt his heart constrict as he dropped to his knees, careful as he laid Peter down.
“I’ve got you, kid. I’m here. You’re safe with me.” Tony’s voice shook as he spoke to Peter. He didn’t know who he was trying to convince more- Peter or himself.
“I’m sorry.” Peter turned to ash, dust settling in Tony’s hands. His heart stopped when he heard a familiar voice.
“Dad? Dad! Where are you?” Tony’s head snapped up when he heard your voice, quickly standing.
“Y/N!” Oh, thank the gods you were okay. He knew he couldn’t take it if he lost his child as well. You threw yourself into his arms, and Tony held you close, petrified that you’d disappear as well. “I thought you were...”
“I’m here, Dad. You’re never getting rid of me, sorry.” Tony choked out a tearful laugh and held you closer. You didn’t talk about everyone you had lost, you were just grateful you had each other.
———
It was three weeks later when you made it back to Earth, along with the remaining Guardians. It took some time for you and your dad to physically recover from the battle with Thanos, even longer for you to mentally recover. Six weeks after your return, you found out your step-mother Pepper was pregnant. Once your dad learned the news, you moved to the cabin where you lived for the next few years. Life was different, but it was calm. It was peaceful, and you were happy with your family.
But you couldn’t help but think about all those you had lost years ago. Peter frequented your mind most often, with him being the closest to you out of the team. Wherever he was, wherever they all were, you just hoped they were okay. It had been five years since the snap had occurred and you had accepted there was no way for everyone to come back. Until Steve, Natasha, and Scott Lang came to the cabin.
———
“Maguna...” You called out in a singsong voice, quietly walking through the backyard. “You can run but you can’t hide.” You heard the crinkle of leaves and a giggle, grinning as you walked towards the tree your sister was hiding behind. “Hmm, I wonder where she’s hiding. Maybe she’s invisible.” You gasped before jumping behind the tree, taking your sister in your arms. “Gotcha!” Morgan laughed, kicking her legs as you held her.
“Can we play again? I know a better hiding spot!” You gently brushed Morgan’s hair out of her face, pressing a kiss to the young girl’s forehead.
“After lunch, I promise. Dad’s got some yummy crickets and leaves for lunch.” You carried a giggling Morgan on your hip as you walked to the porch. You stopped when you saw a silver car in your driveway, three familiar people standing beside it. “Hey, princess. Can you send Daddy outside, please?” You set her down and ushered her inside, your stomach twisting at the sight in front of you.
“Kid? Is everything..?” Tony trailed off as he saw what you were looking at. There stood Natasha, Steve, and Scott- people you haven’t seen in years. Tony wrapped his arm around you and nodded at the group standing at the car.
~~
“So, your plan to save the universe follows the plot of Back to the Future?” Tony asked, you seated beside him on the porch swing. “That’s cute. But that’s not how quantum physics works.”
“Tony.” Natasha spoke. “We have to take a stand.”
“We did. Yet, here we are.” Tony’s hand made its way to your shoulder and you reached back, resting your hand on top of his.
“I know you have a lot on the line.” Scott leaned towards Tony. “You have a wife, two kids. But I lost someone very important to me. A lot of people did. And now that we have a chance to bring her, to bring everyone back, and you won’t even-“
“That’s right, Scott.” Your father’s voice cut him off. “I won’t even. I can’t.” The conversation ended as a door slammed and the sound of footsteps approached.
“Mommy told me to come and save you.” Morgan climbed into the swing, settling in her dad’s lap.
“Good job. I’m saved.” Tony kissed her head and stood up. “I wish you were asking me something else. I’m so happy to see you guys- Oh look, the table’s set for seven.”
“Tony.” Steve stopped Tony, his eyes meeting your dad’s. “This is a second chance.” Tony looked at you and Morgan before looking back at Steve.
“And this is my second chance, Cap. I can’t risk that. If you don’t talk shop, you can stay for lunch.” Tony walked in the cabin with Morgan, and you stood from the swing.
“I’ll... I’ll see what I can do.” You nodded at the three former team members before following your dad inside.
~~
“How on Earth did you create the Iron Man suits, but you struggle with washing dishes?” Your voice snapped Tony out of his trance, a picture frame in his hands. You walked to your father and your heart constricted at the picture. You were taking pictures for Peter’s ‘internship’ and the picture was your favorite from the photoshoot. Your dad was making a serious face, but was giving Peter bunny ears. Peter was grinning, doing the same gesture with your dad, and holding the internship certificate true Peter Parker style- upside down. You were behind the camera, laughing as Pepper tried to get the two men to take a serious photo.
“You’re such a brat.” Tony rolled his eyes, but there was no malice behind his words. You fell into silence as you looked at the picture until you spoke again.
“I really miss him.” Your voice cracked and you felt the tears forming in your eyes.
“I miss him too, kid.” Tony fought to hold back his own tears as he looked at you.
“I haven’t been able to stop thinking about him. And ever since Scott mentioned the time heist... I really wonder if it’s possible to bring him back. To bring everyone back.” Your eyes met Tony’s rich brown ones and no more words were needed.
You stood beside your dad, completely focused. “FRIDAY, let’s change this to the shape of a Möbius strip. Inverted.” You watched as the hologram shifted, gnawing at your bottom lip.
“And give me the eigenvalue of that particle, factoring in spectral decomp. That’ll take a minute.” Tony took a drink from his water bottle, eyes not leaving the hologram. “Don’t worry if it doesn’t work, we’re just trying...” FRIDAY’s automated voice interrupted.
“Model rendered.” Your eyes widened as you looked at the successful model. ‘99.987 percent successful’ the hologram read. You slowly sat back into your chair, the shocked expression on your face mirroring your father’s.
“Shit.” You managed to force out.
“Shit!” You turned around as you heard another voice behind you. There, on the stairs, sat Morgan.
“What are you doing up, little miss?” Your dad whispered.
“Shit.” Morgan repeated, a proud smile on her face.
“No, no. We don’t say that. Only Mommy says that word. She coined it, it’s hers.” You said.
“Why are you up?” Morgan asked.
“‘Cause we’ve got some important shit going on here!” Morgan tilted her head, giving your dad an incredulous look. “No, we’ve got something on our minds.”
“Like juice pops?” You smiled at your sister’s innocence, nodding.
“Sure was. Gosh, you’re so smart.” You stood up, walking to your sister and picking her up. “That’s extortion. That’s a word you can use. What kind do you want? Great minds think alike, you know. That’s exactly...” Your eyes trailed back to the hologram, then your father, and then your little sister. “what was on our minds.” You walked to the kitchen, grabbed three juice pops, and made your way up to your bedroom, your dad right behind you two.
~~
“Night, Y/N/N. Night, Maguna.” Your dad kissed both of your heads before walking to your bedroom door.
“Daddy?” Morgan’s sleepy voice stopped Tony in his spot. “You said you love us tons. I love you three thousand.” Tony’s heart swelled at his young daughter’s words, unable to hide the grin on his face.
“Three thousand? Wow. That’s crazy.” Tony opened your bedroom door, smiling as he walked out. “Now go to sleep, or I’ll sell all your toys.”
Tony walked to the living room, surprised to see Pepper on the couch. He walked over and took a seat beside his wife. “Not to brag, but Morgan loves me three thousand.”
“Really, now?” An amused smile made its way to Pepper’s lips.
“You were in the low six to nine hundred range.” Pepper laughed as she continued to read her book. “What are you reading?”
“Oh, just a bit about composting.” Pepper didn’t notice the slight change of tone, or how Tony’s eyes were glued to the hologram you and him were working on earlier. “It’s pretty interesting science-“
“Y/N and I figured it out, you know.” Pepper’s eyes flicked up to Tony’s, noticing all the emotions in them. “Time travel.”
“That’s... amazing. And terrifying.” Pepper shut her book, setting it aside. “We got really lucky. A lot of people didn’t.”
“You’re right. And we can’t help everyone.”
“It kind of seems like you can.” Pepper smiled sympathetically.
“Unless I stop. I can stop right now. Put a pin in it, it’s done.” Pepper’s hand took Tony’s, her thumb rubbing over his knuckles.
“Getting you to stop is one of the only failures in my life, Tony. And Y/N is just as stubborn as you.” Tony offered a weak smile to Pepper, squeezing her hand.
“Something tells me I should put it in a box, drop it in the lake, and go to bed.”
“But would you be able to rest? Would Y/N?” And Pepper’s words ran through his head for the rest of the night. The next morning, you and Tony said goodbye to your mother and sister before going to the compound.
———
Perfecting time travel and collecting the infinity stones was a challenge. You went with Thor to Asgard, and when you came back you noticed Clint knelt on the floor, without Natasha. You walked over to Clint and bent down to his level, draping your arm over his shoulder.
“I tried to stop her.” Clint’s voice was raspy, evident that he had been crying. “I wanted it to be me.” You swallowed the lump in your throat before speaking.
“We just have to make sure her sacrifice wasn’t for nothing. We’ll win this. For her.” You looked around the room, eyes locking with your father’s. “Whatever it takes.”
~~
You stood behind your father, the team circled around Bruce as he held the infinity gauntlet. Your mask formed to cover your face as Bruce slid the gauntlet on. The stones lit up and Bruce struggled to hold his arm up. “Bruce, are you okay?” You called out, the floor shaking as he fell to his knees. Burns formed up Bruce’s arm and the side of his face and you looked at your dad, panicked.
“Take it off, take it off!” Thor shouted, and Steve waved his hands.
“No, wait! Bruce, are you okay?”
“Talk to me, Banner.” Tony spoke, shifting his shield to make sure you were covered.
“I’m good.” Bruce strained out. “I’m good.” He raised his arm and snapped before falling to the ground with a loud thud.
“Bruce!” You ran over to him, Steve following. Steve pulled the gauntlet off and you kicked it away, kneeling by Bruce’s side as your dad’s suit blasted cold air on the burns. FRIDAY lifted the barriers and Scott walked to the window. The sounds of birds chirping were faint, but seemed to echo once the realization hit. The snap worked. Clint’s head snapped up as his phone vibrated on the table nearby. He picked up the phone with shaky hands, nearly dropping it when he saw his wife’s picture on the screen.
“Honey?” Clint’s voice shook, a wave of relief hitting him when he heard his wife’s voice.
“Hey, guys. I think it work-“ The room suddenly got dark and you looked up, noticing the spaceship hovering above the compound. A round of blasts followed, the compound crumbling into piles of rubble. You groaned as you shoved a beam off you, looking around at the destruction as your dad, Steve, and Thor stood beside you.
“Welcome to the endgame.”
~~
You groaned as you sat up, your body screaming from the abuse it had endured. “Dad, let’s consider adding better padding in my next suit upgrade.” You heard your father’s weak laughter through the comms, before you heard a crackling sound.
“Hey, Cap. Do you read me?” You, Tony, and Steve shared a look as you heard the familiar voice. “Cap, it’s Sam. Can you hear me?” Steve raised his hand to the comms, ready to speak as Sam spoke again. “On your left.” Steve looked to his left as an orange portal opened. You rose to your feet as you saw three people walk out of the portals, recognizing them as T’Challa, Okoye, and Shuri. Sam flew out before dozens more portals lit up the dreary sky. Your eyes quickly scanned the portals as the Avengers team from around the world joined you- everyone from the Guardians to the people of Wakanda (even your mother in the Rescue suit) had gathered together to fight.
“Avengers!” Steve called out, hand held out and Mjolnir flew to his hand. “Assemble.” You flew off with your father, blasting Thanos’s army as you flew through the sky.
“Dad!” You yelled as your father got knocked to the ground. You shot your repulsors at the creatures from Thanos’s army as you flew to the ground, quickly landing beside him. Right as you aimed your repulsors at the last standing creature, he had been pulled back with a “thwip” that brought tears to your eyes once you recognized the sound. You looked up as Scott in his giant form stepped on the monster before running off to continue fighting.
“Hey!” Peter jumped over to you and your dad, helping him off as his mask came off. “Holy cow. You will not believe what’s been going on. Do you remember when we were in space? And I got all dusty? And I must have passed out, because I woke up and you were gone. But Doctor Strange was there, right? And he was like,” Peter started making hand motions as he continued telling his story, your dad’s eyes filling with emotion. Tony stepped closer to Peter, his arms open.
“Hold me, kid. Hold me.” Tony wrapped his arms around Peter, holding the kid close to him.
“What are you doing?” Peter asked as he was enveloped in Tony’s arms, relaxing as he hugged back. “Oh, this is nice.” You cleared your throat as you stood to the side, laughing as your father flipped you the bird when he pulled back.
“I’m sorry to break this apart, but I think they need us out there.” Peter nodded at you as your dad flew off, spewing off instructions through the comms. You looked over at Peter, speaking up. “Peter. I’ve.. I’ve really missed you. I really hope we can catch up after this. You know, after saving the world.” You shot him a wink before your mask covered your face and you flew off, Peter swinging close behind you. The true weight of your words didn’t hit until later.
The battle was the most grueling one you’d ever been apart of. It looked hopeless. Thanos had the gauntlet, and much to your avail, no one was able to remove it. You pulled yourself off the floor as you looked at Stephen Strange. You remembered the battle from five years ago, where Stephen had said there was a one out of fourteen million chance you’d come out on top. And when he raised one finger, you knew what you had to do. You ran to Thanos, stopping in front of him with what little of your suit had not been destroyed in the fight. You wrapped your hands around the gauntlet, pulling as hard as you could. Thanos flung you to the side with one hit, sending you crashing into the dirt.
“I am inevitable.” Thanos raised his hand and snapped. “What?” He looked at his hand, seeing the stones were missing. No. Thanos looked at you, and in that moment, he knew he had lost.
You raised your arm, your suit whirring to life with the power from the infinity stones. The power coursed through your body and you could feel the effects immediately. With a determined look in your eyes, you spoke the four words that would never leave your dad’s mind.
“And I... am.... Ironheart.” Snap.
~~
Everyone knew something had happened whenever all of Thanos’s army had turned to dust on the spot. Just like that, Thanos’s army had disintegrated, leaving nothing but ashes and the destruction they had caused behind. Thanos was the last to fade into nothingness, getting to watch his work disappear. The Avengers looked around in confusion, trying to find who was the cause. Tony’s eyes flitted across the field, a feeling of panic in his stomach.
“FRIDAY, do a scan for Y/N.”
“Y/N has been detected fifty yards away. Navigating you there now.” Tony flew to where you were, landing in front of you. Tony’s world stopped when he saw you, leaning limply against the roots of a tree that had been ripped from the ground. Pepper was shortly behind Tony, and she took a deep breath.
“Hey, kid.” Pepper walked over to you first and knelt beside you. Your eyes followed her, but she could tell you were fighting to focus. Pepper brought her hand to your head, and you leaned into her touch. Your breathing was shallow and labored, one side of your body burned- including the suit. Peter swung over to you, kneeling beside your mom when he saw you.
“Y/N?” Peter took your hand. “Hey.” Peter’s voice shook as he held your hand. “Y/N, can you hear me?” Your eyes met Peter’s and Peter choked back a sob when he saw how lifeless your eyes looked. “It’s Peter. Hey. We won, Y/N.” Tears were streaming down Peter’s face by this point. “We won. You did it, Y/N, you did it.” A pause. “I’m sorry. Y/N/N.” Tony had to pull Peter off, rubbing his shoulder before taking his spot.
“Hey..” Tony whispered.
“Hey, Dad.” Your voice was faint, Tony barely could hear it over the sound of his own shaky breathing. Tony rested his hand over the heart shaped arc reactor lighting up your suit, your hand slowly moving to lay on top of his.
“FRIDAY?”
“Life functions critical.” Tony’s breath hitched as he looked at you, and you gave him a smile. Your head started to lean to the side and Tony spoke again.
“Y/N. Hey, look at me.” Your eyes met your dad’s again. “You did it, kid. And now you can rest.” A soft puff of air left your lips, the last breath that you would ever breathe. Tony blinked back the tears as long as he could. When the light of your suit flickered out, the dam holding back his tears broke and sobs racked his body. Tony pressed a kiss to your cheek, the rest of the team kneeling down in honor. The rest of the universe was celebrating, being reunited with their loved ones. At the same time as all of the celebration, their little corner of the world was grieving the loss of Y/N Stark. A member of the Avengers family. The person who gave her life so the rest of the world could have theirs.
———
Your suit helmet was propped on the table, projecting a video you had recorded before the battle.
“So, I thought I should probably record a little greeting in case of an untimely death on my part. Is death ever timely though?” You were on your bed, wearing one of your dad’s MIT hoodies. “We’ve pulled off some pretty impressive things, and God, I really hope we can pull this one off.” Pepper sat on the couch beside Tony, Morgan curled in between her parents. Happy sat on the other side of Pepper, and Peter was in a chair beside the couch. Peter couldn’t look at the hologram that was too lifelike. Too you.
“We’re going to do the time heist tomorrow, and I’ve got to admit, I’m stumped with this one. Strange’s words haven’t left my head, one in fourteen million. Those odds really scare me, but that’s the whole hero gig, isn’t it? Part of the journey is the end.” You shifted as you twirled a strand of your hair, a nervous habit you had developed at a young age. “I really hope this isn’t the end, though. There’s been some battles where I thought there was no way I’d make it back from. And I was okay with that. Now I have a lot that I’m not ready to lose anymore.” You got off the bed, standing up. “But what am I worried for? Tomorrow’s going to play out exactly like it should.” You walked to the helmet, kneeling down. You were kneeled right in front of where Morgan sat, as if you knew where she’d be. “I love you three thousand.” You smiled before the video ended.
The funeral followed shortly after the video had been played. Morgan held her parents’ hands, your mother holding a wreath as they walked down to the lake. There in the middle of the wreath was your arc reactor, engraved to say “Y/N Stark- Proof That Starks Have a Heart”. Tony sat on the edge of the pier after the funeral, the rest of the team standing around the backyard and socializing. Peter sat on the porch swing with Morgan in his lap, speaking softly to her.
“How you doing, Mo?” Peter spoke, looking down at the youngest Stark. Morgan had quickly grown attached to Peter, and Peter had become just as protective over her as you had been. “You good?” Morgan nodded, playing with the hem of her dress. “Good. You hungry?”
“Mm-hmm.” Morgan looked up at Peter, and Peter’s heart ached. He saw so much of you in her.
“Yeah? What do you want?” Peter asked.
“Cheeseburgers?” Peter smiled at the suggestion and nodded after a few seconds.
“You know, Y/N loved cheeseburgers.” Morgan hummed in response and Peter gently brushed her hair back. “I’m gonna get you all the cheeseburgers you want.”
“Even three thousand?” Peter’s eyes watered as he saw the small smile on her lips.
“Even three thousand.”
~~
Tony didn’t look up as he heard footsteps behind him, his eyes gazing across the lake. He recognized the sound of their walk, and the metal hand awkwardly resting on his shoulder confirmed his suspicions as he sat beside Tony. “I wish there was a way I could let them know. That we won.” Bucky looked at the lake, eyes squinted from the reflection of the sun.
“They know.” Bucky spoke, looking up towards the sky. “They both know.” Tony nodded at the reference towards Natasha. Without Natasha’s sacrifice, Y/N never could have made their sacrifice. And Tony hoped they were both somewhere better, looking down on everyone.
“Thank you, by the way.” Tony looked over at Bucky. “You really saved my ass out there. You didn’t have to.”
“But I did-“
“You didn’t. I haven’t given you the easiest time since you’ve been with us. I’ve been a dick, and I’m sorry it took so long for me to acknowledge it.” Tony’s mind drifted off to the battle with Thanos, where Bucky had saved his life.
One of Thanos’s children was standing above him, weapon in hand.
“Oh, I’ve waited a long time for this.” The creature growled, a smirk on his face. Tony braces himself for the impact, right as a gunshot went off, but Tony felt no pain. The alien fell to the ground with a thud and Tony looked up. There stood Bucky, rifle in hand. Neither man said a word as Tony gave Bucky a slight nod, which Bucky returned before returning to battle.
“You’re a good man, James.”
“Please. Call me Bucky.”
✨ Happier ending ✨

this might seem very basic, but please do “i love you 3000” with dewey and his fam?
Alright.. um… ow my heart.. y’all arent ready for the feels in this. Or maybe you are. I don’t know.
Letsago! (Also spoilers for Endgame in a sense)
-
“Great minds think alike. Juice pops, they were exactly what was on my mind.” Dewey said as he finished off his grape pop while ruffling Skye’s hair.
Danny giggled as he struggled to hold his half-way finished stick and Dewey chuckled, “You done with that Dan?” His son chuckled and brought the pop stick towards Dewey who took it and finished Danny’s orange pop, “Now you are.”
The three year old giggled again as he crawled to Dewey on Skye’s bed and stood up, “Upsies!”
Dewey chuckled, picking Danny up, “Alright time for bed you three.” He looked over at Chase who was chewing on his empty stick, “C’mon Chase hop to your bed.” To which the young 5 year old did as Dewey put Danny in his mini bed and tucked Danny in.
“I hopped in Papa.” Chase said.
His father walked over, “I see. Now lets get you under your sheets yeah?” Dewey tucked his other son in tightly, “Ah snug as a rug in a bug.”
Chase cuddled into his pillow, “It’s snug as a bug in a rug, dad.” He laughed as he corrected his father.
Dewey playfully rolled his eyes and zooshed Chase’s hair, “Yeah yeah.” He turned around, heading towards the door.
“Daddy?” Skye called, getting her father’s attention, “Tell us a bedtime story.”
“A story?” Dewey asked while kissing her forehead, “Alright. Once upon a time, a group of three children went to bed. The end.”
Chase scoffed, “That’s the same story you told us last time. I bet it’s not even a whole story.”
“C’mon that’s your favorite story.” Dewey chuckled “I love you three tons.”
“We love you, 3000.”
He was slightly taken aback. “Wow… 3000.. that’s crazy..” His heart accelerated. He loved his children incredibly and 3000.. that was a huge number. Dewey shook his head chuckling, “Now you three go to bed before I sell all your toys. Night kiddos.”
“Night Dad!” His kids said as he walked out and heard them giggling
Dewey walked into the living room and he saw Webby sitting on the couch reading one of her novels. He smirked walking behind her, and placed his hands on her shoulders, which startled her slightly but she looked up at him.
“Not that it’s a competition but… they love me 3000.” Dewey said looking down at Webby.
She smirked, “Oh really?”
“Yerp.” He smoothed down her hair, “You were somewhere in the low 6 to 900 range.”
Webby laughed, placing her book down and Dewey hopped over the couch and sat next to her. “What were you reading?”
She shrugged, “Just a book on composting…”
Dewey nodded and there became an awkward silence in the room. He anxiously rubbed his hands together debating how to tell Webby the news. He then decided to just go for it.
“I figured it out..”
Webby perked.
“Time travel… I figured it out..”
She was astounded. Her husband. Dewey Duck. Cracked Time Travel. “Wow.. that’s… amazing.. and.. terrifying all at the same time.”
Dewey nodded as he swallowed. His insides twisted, his nerves taking over. HE figured it out but.. that didn’t mean they could fix what happened.
Seeing her husbands stressed state, Webby placed a hand on his shoulder, “We got really lucky you know? I mean we’re married and have three beautiful children.”
A small smile made its way to Dewey’s beak, “Yeah… I know..”
“A lot of people didn’t get that lucky Dewey..”
He shook his head, “No…. but I can’t help everybody.”
Webby narrowed her eyes, “It sort of seems like you can. I mean you-”
“Not if I stop.” Dewey interrupted, looking Webby right in her eyes, “I can put a pin in it right now and stop.”
She cupped his cheek, “Dewey, trying to get you to stop has been one of the few failures in my entire life.”
He gently held her wrist, “Something tells me I should put it in a locked box and drop it at the bottom of a lake and go to bed.”
“But would you be able to rest?” Webby asked, “Knowing that you didn’t take this chance?”
He sighed.
“I..” He began before Webby shushed him
“Dewey.. look at me.” She spoke softly, “Just do what you gotta do. Like you’ve always done, and I’ll have your back.”
He smiled softly and nodded.
This whole thing had so many variables. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to pursue and help his brothers in their cause or just shove it all aside and continue his life with Webby and their kids. She did bring up a good point that made Dewey think.
Would he be able to rest?
-
Family and friends all gathered in the living room. All dressed in black, and stood close to each other. Many returned and other’s… well..
Mrs Beakley walked downstairs carrying his metal helmet and placed it down on the table, positioning it in the right direction. She clicked a button and the hologram message started.
Webby held her children close as the hologram of their father appeared. He was shuffling through cards before sighing and placing them down.
“What did I write these cards for..” Dewey’s hologram spoke, “I just gotta go with this.. as crazy as this all is… just go with it. Okay..” The hologram sat down and he faced the family.
“Hey everybody… If you’re playing this then.. we did it.. We actually pulled off Huey and Louie’s insane plan…” He went silent for a moment, took a deep breath, “But.. that also means something happened to me.. and.. I don’t really know.. I mean I’m in your past right now so.” He chuckled, “God this whole thing is confusing. I can’t even believe I even have to record this but… I figured I’d leave a proper goodbye for you all.. since I most likely won’t have time to say much..”
The whole room was silent. It was still an unbelievable circumstance and the fact Dewey recorded a whole message, knowing he wasn’t gonna make it out.. no one needed to say anything to express their heartbreak. The tears and small breaths said it all.
His hologram began to talk again, “Everyone want’s a happy ending right? It’s what we all expect. It’s what we’re all told. But something people don’t talk about is that there are a variety of happy endings, and ours is one of them. I’m hoping that if you guys play this, it’s in celebration, of your happy endings.” The hologram smirked and stood up, “And I hope there are some tears shed for ol’ Dewford here but you get what I’m saying.-
“That’s how I Dewey it.” Everyone said, along side Dewey’s hologram.
Light and heartful chuckles filled the room as everyone exchanged smiles. He brought them back together. If Dewey were here, he’d be smiling too. He always wanted to be the glue that held the family together, and he’s being just that, even if he’s not really present.
Dewey’s hologram began to walk around, “In all honesty guys, I hope families are reunited, ours included. I hope that we.. somehow, someway get a normal version of our planet restored.. if there ever was such thing.. I have no idea I’m not geologist.. I think that’s what it’s called.” He paused, “This world.. is strange man.. If you would’ve told me ten years ago that we weren’t alone.. especially to this extent.. Seriously I feel like we get a new member every week.. I wouldn’t  have been surprised. I mean, think about it. All the forces of darkness and light that have come into play the past decade? And for better or worse… that’s the reality Skye, Chase and Danny are gonna have to grow up in…”
He sighed and his hologram walked toward his brothers, “Like I said before, I found time to record this goodbye… in case of an untimely death on my part.. I mean not that death is untimely.. it happens to all of us eventually.. And this whole time travel thing that we’re gonna try to do tomorrow it’s.. It’s got me scratching my head about this.. But I want you all to understand that I’m going into this adventure and mission like it’s my last, because it might actually be. I don’t want any of you to blame yourselves for what happens to me, looking at you Webby.” The hologram pointed at his wife and she gave a sad smile, “This is the hero gig right? Part of the journey is the end. And I have this feeling that everything is gonna work out exactly the way it’s suppose to.”
“Huey and Louie.. who I hope are standing here when this plays or else I’m gonna look stupid.” His brothers laughed, and lucky enough they were right in front of his hologram. “My dear brothers… what a ride this has been huh? I mean who would’ve thought the world and.. the whole universe would lay on our shoulders.. I sure didn’t. It’s a honor, really, and being able to go through this whole adventure with you two.. has been the greatest honor of all. Thank you both for being by my side, and helping me learn what it’s like to be a true hero. You have been fantastic brothers. Huey, I hope you have been reunited with Shelly and the two of you have great future, just know I will be there on your wedding night. Keep an eye on the cake.” He winked, “Thanks for being my voice of reason when Louie and I couldn’t exactly see eye to eye.”
Dewey’s hologram turned to Louie, “Oh Louie. We have had an… interesting past few years. Conflicting views, secrets, lies, betrayals. Yeah.. it hasn’t been easy between us but… I want you to know that.. when all this is over.. we’re okay. Everything we’ve been through has brought us to this point and.. you deserve a fantastic future. I love both of you.”
The hologram hugged the two of them, but because it was a hologram, they couldn’t exactly hug back but that didn’t stop the tears that formed in their eyes and fell down their cheeks. Dewey’s hologram pulled away sniffling, “Now.. here’s the harder part…” They all watched as he walked in front of Webby.
Her throat tighten and she held Skye close against her chest while Danny held her arm with Chase holding him. “Webby, Webby, Webby..” He paused and chuckled, “Barely even started and I’m already crying… that’s what’s making this whole thing hard.. is knowing that.. I’m leaving you.. and I don’t want to do that.. this part..” He gestured between them, “This is what sucks about all this because.. I still want more time to be your husband.. I want to continue to be a father.. I want to be the role model our children deserve… but it seems it’s not gonna work out the way we planned.. when does it ever? God Webby.. I… I just.. ugh! This goodbye is harder than I ever thought..” He rubbed his face, “Okay okay..” He knelt down and looked at Webby, “Again I hope you’re in front of me.. Webbigail Vanderquack Duck… man… words cannot even begin to describe how much I love you and how much this pains me.. I wouldn’t be where I am without you.. all these years together.. as friends, as daters, lovers, husband and wife and as parents… you’ve brought out the best in me.. and I wouldn’t change a thing from what we have been through. All the dark times, all the tears, laughs and smiles, it made us who we are.” He blinked and his tears continued to fall, “I truly do wish there was another ending for us… but it’s like you said.. not everyone is that lucky.. Webby, I’m so sorry.. for the pain and confusion you’re going through.. I know this is gonna hurt you.. but I’m always with you, whether it’s our rings, your necklace, or even our kids.. I’m right here.. I’ll always be here when you need me.. Those three are our legacy and I know you are going to continue to be a fantastic mother, and I know you’re gonna be there to guide Nathan as well. Never stop being the strong, independent women you are, Webby. And one last thing.” His hologram leaned forward, “I’ll always love you. Know, that I lived and walked on this Earth loving you and that I will die, still loving you.” His holographic hand held her cheek and he kissed her forehead.
Webby bit her beak, holding back her sob that had been building up throughout Dewey’s entire speech. Tears poured our of her eyes and she sniffed. She didn’t expect this to happen so soon.. but his message gave her comfort, and she was sure he had more recordings, this is Dewey after all, duck likes to talk.
He turned to his children, smiling at them. The trio stared at their father’s hologram both in confusion and awe. “Kids… I know right now you might not know what’s going on.. but I can assure you, one day you will. Thank you for being my three little blessings on this planet. I couldn’t have asked for better children to call my own. When you guys are older, there are some messages I left to help you guys in case of an emergency or you just wanna talk. Until then, Skye. Chase. Danny-.”
“I love you 3000.”
With that, the hologram shut off and the room was filled once again with silence and sniffles. Webby looked down at her wedding ring and smiled sadly,
“We love you 3000 too Dewey, always.”

Sitting on the bus back to Auckland trying to gather my thoughts and feelings of the last four weeks I spent at Pupu Rangi Nature Sanctuary. Time is a strange concept because it feels like I just spent a year at this very special place.
Pupu Rangi is a Forest and Kiwi Bird conservation project started about 5 years ago by a very special person, named Octavian.
I had no real expectations of what I was about to embark on except that I wanted to be in nature as much as possible and learn about the native trees and spend time „off the grid“, aka no phone or internet, no electricity and fancy things like flushing toilets and hot water whenever you wanted it. The sanctuary Octavian has basically built with his hands from the ground up was above and beyond anything I could imagine... we were high up on a mountain surrounded by his privately owned 100 acre native New Zealand forest, Home to the endangered Kiwi bird and many other amazing birds. Octavian spends 6 months out of the year with his volunteers doing conservation work in his and other neighboring forests, including the DOC owned Traunson and Mataroa forest.
Our accommodation were old Shipping containers with all recycled and second hand furniture, composting toilets and a „living tree room“ made out of the native Panga tree. We had generator powered showers with collected rainwater and solar panels which was our only source of power for charging a phone or two during the day. The weather was extreme, we had everything from strong chilling winds with heavy rainfall to hot days in the sun. When the moon was out you didn’t need a head torch to find your way to bed, when it was gone I could barely see where I was stepping without falling into cow poo.
The forest and the kiwi are mostly endangered by possums, rats and feral cats who were all once brought in by European settlers. Our job together with Octavian was maintaining the tracks he cleared with past volunteers; maintaining means walking through the forest with loppers and a saw, cutting any dead trees that had fallen, removing supplejack or also called „bush asparagus“ (super yummy), removing fern leaves and other things that may harm you when walking through this rainforest without destroying any part of the forest. It was physically exhausting, the tracks were only 2 to 3 km long but there were many deep valleys which we had to climb and somehow go down on, all while carrying tools and hanging on to tree roots hoping they wouldn’t give out or that you accidentally hit a muddy spot. My legs are covered in bruises and my arms toned up. We started out in bigger groups and as the weeks went by we would go in teams of two and eventually I did some tracks on my own. We did Rat monitoring, set up possum and cat traps but luckily I didn’t have to remove anything the next day, if you get my drift.
We spent 4 hours climbing over trees, jumping creeks and walking through spiderwebs. Lunch was usually had in the forest, the evenings were spent cooking and watching movies around the fire. We had sunsets overlooking the beautiful rolling hills and ocean, Milky Way star nights and many, many bursts of laughter. Once a week we went on a day trip to a coast beach or lake. We had a few days in town where one could go online and buy much needed chocolate, but for the most part it was just the 7 of us on top of that mountain or in the forest. Our group was appearantly very lucky because on our second day we were called by a DOC ranger that there was a chance for us to see a kiwi bird he had to check on, after 4 hours in the forest we basically ran for another 2 because this is such a rare and special thing. He found the male kiwi and after checking his weight and beak we got to give the little guy a pet before he released him back into the woods. Other special events were night walks in the forest looking for kiwi and glow worms by a waterfall, witnessing the magnificent Kauri trees and sitting for 2 hours by myself in the late evening by the forest listening for kiwi calls and keeping track of them.
I’m sure there are so many things I’m already forgetting but overall I’m a very happy camper right now. I have new wonderful friends and my mind and body feel incredibly refreshed, I feel like I’m finally in the mindset I need to be in for my further travels. I’m practicing guitar nearly every day, drawing, writing and sleeping like I’ve never slept before. I hope I was able to transport some of this amazing energy I’ve been blessed with through my words and pictures that all of you think just a little more about what we we can do keep our beautiful planet alive and well. Much love to you!

NSFW Warning!
What would Ouma, Kiibo and Amami do if they were asked to try some dirty talk?
Sure thing, coming right up! This should be a fun one, actually. NSFW below the cut!
Kokichi Ouma
He’s super ready when you ask.
He doesn’t do it right away though. He starts with some pretty impressive foreplay, running his fingertips across you, heightening your senses, preparing you.
He looks you right in the eyes, smirking seductively and leaning into your ear, letting out a small chuckle.
It sends tingles up your spine.
He parts his lips and whispers.
“You wanna hear something really bad?”
You nod, practically trembling in anticipation.
He whispers softly, his voice gravelly-
“According to all known laws of aviation,   there is no way a bee should be able to fly.   Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground.   The bee, of course, flies anyway   because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.   Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black.   Ooh, black and yellow! Let's shake it up a little.   Barry! Breakfast is ready!   Ooming!   Hang on a second.   Hello?   - Barry? - Adam?   - Oan you believe this is happening? - I can't. I'll pick you up.   Looking sharp.   Use the stairs. Your father paid good money for those.   Sorry. I'm excited.   Here's the graduate. We're very proud of you, son.   A perfect report card, all B's.   Very proud.   Ma! I got a thing going here.   - You got lint on your fuzz. - Ow! That's me!   - Wave to us! We'll be in row 118,000. - Bye!   Barry, I told you, stop flying in the house!   - Hey, Adam. - Hey, Barry.   - Is that fuzz gel? - A little. Special day, graduation.   Never thought I'd make it.   Three days grade school, three days high school.   Those were awkward.   Three days college. I'm glad I took a day and hitchhiked around the hive.   You did come back different.   - Hi, Barry. - Artie, growing a mustache? Looks good.   - Hear about Frankie? - Yeah.   - You going to the funeral? - No, I'm not going.   Everybody knows, sting someone, you die.   Don't waste it on a squirrel. Such a hothead.   I guess he could have just gotten out of the way.   I love this incorporating an amusement park into our day.   That's why we don't need vacations.   Boy, quite a bit of pomp... under the circumstances.   - Well, Adam, today we are men. - We are!   - Bee-men. - Amen!   Hallelujah!   Students, faculty, distinguished bees,   please welcome Dean Buzzwell.   Welcome, New Hive Oity graduating class of...   ...9:15.   That concludes our ceremonies.   And begins your career at Honex Industries!   Will we pick ourjob today?   I heard it's just orientation.   Heads up! Here we go.   Keep your hands and antennas inside the tram at all times.   - Wonder what it'll be like? - A little scary.   Welcome to Honex, a division of Honesco   and a part of the Hexagon Group.   This is it!   Wow.   Wow.   We know that you, as a bee, have worked your whole life   to get to the point where you can work for your whole life.   Honey begins when our valiant Pollen Jocks bring the nectar to the hive.   Our top-secret formula   is automatically color-corrected, scent-adjusted and bubble-contoured   into this soothing sweet syrup   with its distinctive golden glow you know as...   Honey!   - That girl was hot. - She's my cousin!   - She is? - Yes, we're all cousins.   - Right. You're right. - At Honex, we constantly strive   to improve every aspect of bee existence.   These bees are stress-testing a new helmet technology.   - What do you think he makes? - Not enough.   Here we have our latest advancement, the Krelman.   - What does that do? - Oatches that little strand of honey   that hangs after you pour it. Saves us millions.   Oan anyone work on the Krelman?   Of course. Most bee jobs are small ones. But bees know   that every small job, if it's done well, means a lot.   But choose carefully   because you'll stay in the job you pick for the rest of your life.   The same job the rest of your life? I didn't know that.   What's the difference?   You'll be happy to know that bees, as a species, haven't had one day off   in 27 million years.   So you'll just work us to death?   We'll sure try.   Wow! That blew my mind!   "What's the difference?" How can you say that?   One job forever? That's an insane choice to have to make.   I'm relieved. Now we only have to make one decision in life.   But, Adam, how could they never have told us that?   Why would you question anything? We're bees.   We're the most perfectly functioning society on Earth.   You ever think maybe things work a little too well here?   Like what? Give me one example.   I don't know. But you know what I'm talking about.   Please clear the gate. Royal Nectar Force on approach.   Wait a second. Oheck it out.   - Hey, those are Pollen Jocks! - Wow.   I've never seen them this close.   They know what it's like outside the hive.   Yeah, but some don't come back.   - Hey, Jocks! - Hi, Jocks!   You guys did great!   You're monsters! You're sky freaks! I love it! I love it!   - I wonder where they were. - I don't know.   Their day's not planned.   Outside the hive, flying who knows where, doing who knows what.   You can'tjust decide to be a Pollen Jock. You have to be bred for that.   Right.   Look. That's more pollen than you and I will see in a lifetime.   It's just a status symbol. Bees make too much of it.   Perhaps. Unless you're wearing it and the ladies see you wearing it.   Those ladies? Aren't they our cousins too?   Distant. Distant.   Look at these two.   - Oouple of Hive Harrys. - Let's have fun with them.   It must be dangerous being a Pollen Jock.   Yeah. Once a bear pinned me against a mushroom!   He had a paw on my throat, and with the other, he was slapping me!   - Oh, my! - I never thought I'd knock him out.   What were you doing during this?   Trying to alert the authorities.   I can autograph that.   A little gusty out there today, wasn't it, comrades?   Yeah. Gusty.   We're hitting a sunflower patch six miles from here tomorrow.   - Six miles, huh? - Barry!   A puddle jump for us, but maybe you're not up for it.   - Maybe I am. - You are not!   We're going 0900 at J-Gate.   What do you think, buzzy-boy? Are you bee enough?   I might be. It all depends on what 0900 means.   Hey, Honex!   Dad, you surprised me.   You decide what you're interested in?   - Well, there's a lot of choices. - But you only get one.   Do you ever get bored doing the same job every day?   Son, let me tell you about stirring.   You grab that stick, and you just move it around, and you stir it around.   You get yourself into a rhythm. It's a beautiful thing.   You know, Dad, the more I think about it,   maybe the honey field just isn't right for me.   You were thinking of what, making balloon animals?   That's a bad job for a guy with a stinger.   Janet, your son's not sure he wants to go into honey!   - Barry, you are so funny sometimes. - I'm not trying to be funny.   You're not funny! You're going into honey. Our son, the stirrer!   - You're gonna be a stirrer? - No one's listening to me!   Wait till you see the sticks I have.   I could say anything right now. I'm gonna get an ant tattoo!   Let's open some honey and celebrate!   Maybe I'll pierce my thorax. Shave my antennae.   Shack up with a grasshopper. Get a gold tooth and call everybody "dawg"!   I'm so proud.   - We're starting work today! - Today's the day.   Oome on! All the good jobs will be gone.   Yeah, right.   Pollen counting, stunt bee, pouring, stirrer, front desk, hair removal...   - Is it still available? - Hang on. Two left!   One of them's yours! Oongratulations! Step to the side.   - What'd you get? - Picking crud out. Stellar!   Wow!   Oouple of newbies?   Yes, sir! Our first day! We are ready!   Make your choice.   - You want to go first? - No, you go.   Oh, my. What's available?   Restroom attendant's open, not for the reason you think.   - Any chance of getting the Krelman? - Sure, you're on.   I'm sorry, the Krelman just closed out.   Wax monkey's always open.   The Krelman opened up again.   What happened?   A bee died. Makes an opening. See? He's dead. Another dead one.   Deady. Deadified. Two more dead.   Dead from the neck up. Dead from the neck down. That's life!   Oh, this is so hard!   Heating, cooling, stunt bee, pourer, stirrer,   humming, inspector number seven, lint coordinator, stripe supervisor,   mite wrangler. Barry, what do you think I should... Barry?   Barry!   All right, we've got the sunflower patch in quadrant nine...   What happened to you? Where are you?   - I'm going out. - Out? Out where?   - Out there. - Oh, no!   I have to, before I go to work for the rest of my life.   You're gonna die! You're crazy! Hello?   Another call coming in.   If anyone's feeling brave, there's a Korean deli on 83rd   that gets their roses today.   Hey, guys.   - Look at that. - Isn't that the kid we saw yesterday?   Hold it, son, flight deck's restricted.   It's OK, Lou. We're gonna take him up.   Really? Feeling lucky, are you?   Sign here, here. Just initial that.   - Thank you. - OK.   You got a rain advisory today,   and as you all know, bees cannot fly in rain.   So be careful. As always, watch your brooms,   hockey sticks, dogs, birds, bears and bats.   Also, I got a couple of reports of root beer being poured on us.”
You leave before he can go any further.
How the fuck did he have it memorized.
Rantarou Amami
He’s actually quite talented.
He’s also very willing to do whatever you’d like to try in bed, but he likes to have some notice beforehand.
And you do give him some, so he practices some dirty talk, and he’s a natural!
When he actually gets in bed with you, you’re amazed.
Everything he says has you on the edge, and his words mixed with his teasing touch are euphoric.
He keeps it up for as long as he can, and the way his voice gets huskier and more breathy as he gets more aroused just makes it that much more incredible.
You can’t keep your hands and mouth off him, which he loves.
He just keeps fueling the fire, right up until you both climax.
You’re definitely making him do this again.
Kiibo
You...want him to say something dirty?
...
