Detective Conan began its serialization in Shonen Sunday 29 years ago, and it's still going strong!

I think this is the first Cone I ever drew, in December 2012. At the time, I had no idea that several years in the future, this series would become so dear to me—and would introduce me to so many wonderful people!

Like,,, for a few days being unable to leave the house because snow has literally covered everything and opening the door means being met with a wall of solid ice. But of course in Snezhnaya that's to be expected so the house is fully stocked in supplies – so there's no need to panic! It's just that you just can't leave. (Cue mental image of Legacy attempting to burrow out before giving up because it's too much trouble.)

But sir mothman? Sir mothman is delighted he can keep you all to himself for a few days, without having to wait for you to return home from work.

Yes this does mean cuddle time under lots of fluffy blankets. :3

you are so right about winter practically being here already because it has been FREEZING this past week!!! what on earth!!!

Snezhnaya was stuck in a particularly bad set of snowstorms at the moment, so it wasn't much of a surprise when you woke up one morning to the front door completely frozen. it's covered in a sheet of ice, and the windows are much the same- they won't budge no matter how hard you try- so you not-so-reluctantly put down your work bag and return to your bed, carefully sliding back under the covers. Foul Legacy, still asleep, stirs a little, letting out a drowsy, questioning trill, and you simply kiss his forehead and snuggle into his chest, happy to be under the warm covers again

Legacy is ecstatic when he fully wakes up a few hours later, nudging you gently and chirping happily- normally you'd be at work by now! but you're here with him! he glances out the window at the snow, falling without pause, and nuzzles his face against the crook of your neck with a purr. if snow means that you'll stay home with him, then he's more than happy to watch the snow fall for weeks on end. he only gets up when you get up, following you to the kitchen and plonking his chin on your shoulder as you make hot chocolate, rumbling in delight when you reach up to scratch behind his horns

oh and he DOES try to burrow out through the snow, less to actually get outside and more just to make you laugh- but he forgot how biting the cold can be, and hastily crawls back into the house covered in snow and ice crystals. Legacy whines, shivering as you attempt to brush the snow off his armor before wrapping him in a blanket and guiding him to the fireplace. he curls around you, his claws wrapped around your wrist as you bundle him in more quilts and covers until he's an Abyssal moth blanket burrito, toasty and sleepy and letting out soft snores

Legacy's a little sad when the snow finally melts and you can go to work, but he knows that it'll happen again- you're in Snezhnaya, and the next snowstorm is always just around the corner

Mike asks Larry for advice one day about dealing with sentient attractions, and Larry explains the checklist and getting along with the exhibits and making sure their needs are met, and Mike just stares at him. Like, "What do you mean they stopped trying to kill you?"

"What do you mean?"

And Mike explains more about what goes on and one night when Larry has the night off he goes with Mike to work and helps him figure things out with the animitronics.

He goes back to the museum the next night and the minis take one look at him and go, "You were with some other attractions last night, weren't ya?"

Now this is peak comedy.

Everyone at the museum just jealous that Larry spent a night with different attractions then them? Gold. Really, I honestly think that Larry could get through to the animatronics. Because Larry has something that Mike doesn’t. Social skills.

Are they limited? Yes, for sure. Still, they’re better than Mike’s. And since he know what it’s like to be around magical and dangerous things, I could imagine this could be a piece of cake! A challenge, for sure. It depends on which lore we’re going with. The movie or the games, but with time and care, I think the animatronics would like Larry.

I can just imagine him reading them all a bedtime story, under blankets and shit. And Mike is just— astounded.

“How the fuck did you do that.”

“What do you mean?”

“Wha— they listen to you!”

“Mike, they’re children. You gotta treat them as such. You can’t just expect a child to trust a big, scary stranger. You need to gain their trust. That’s how I did it.”

And Mike just stands there, stunned still.

About your lmk fandom hot take about MK and his fan-cast role of ‚group therapist‘

I feel like one of the parts I appreciate most about lmk is that generally everyone is supportive in their own way? It‘s usually pretty balanced.

The only notable thing in which I would say MK is more prominent in is talking to people who feel driven into a corner, but like- when their pushed to their limits?

The others notice earlier warning signs, someone being overly exhausted, broody or isolating themselves (this someone usually being MK who himself is blind to the small things most of the time)

But when someone has a huge outburst of emotion?

Like Mei when she was overwhelmed with the Samadhi fire (how quickly she managed to ground herself again was so sweet imo. And after she only pushed him away when realizing she couldn’t control it and was a danger to him still)

Or Monkey King in the season 4 special, overwhelmed and depressed when confronted with his past? MK finds just the rights words to give Wukong a sense of purpose again, and aspire to leave the world better than he found it.

Same with Azure. Who when despairing at the universe unraveling at the seams because of his own (well intentioned) ambitions managed to smile, fixing his mistakes after MK pushes him to do so. So I would say his strength lies more in giving people an immediate goal to focus on? A sense of purpose maybe. In which case we can add Macaque and ‚the be a warrior‘ to the list.

Since he is definitely some sort of inspiration for the cast.

MK very much looks for a way out. If there's something he thinks is going to have a chance at working for his desired outcome, he's going to take it—which includes looking for help from unlikely sources (Red Son in ROTSQ, Spider Queen in 2x09, Macaque in 3x13, he's willing to immediately trust Azure in 4x02 for the sake of his friends), but it also includes talking to people when backed into a corner (The guardians in 2x01, again trying to convince Spider Queen to help in 2x09, getting through to Mei in 3x10, getting Macaque's help in 3x13, telling Azure he's "The only one who can [fix the world]" in 4x14). MK is very goal oriented and breaks the problem down into steps, and I think that helps when he has to comfort someone who is having a huge meltdown like Mei or Wukong or Azure. In ROTSQ MK learned to focus on what he can do, but when forced into situations where he feels he can't do anything he falters.

And yeah, the main group is especially balanced! Everyone coming together to comfort MK at the beginning of ROTSQ is a great example ("We will figure this out together" should be on my gravestone at this point) and everyone comforting Tang in 4x07 is another good example. I think that's part of what allows MK to go so low at the end of s4—he was separated from his support group.

how close and brotherly do you think Jon Kent and Conner would be if DC ever let them meet and interact?

*cracks knuckles* alright let’s get into this

while they have ‘technically’ met in canon, these interactions have never been anything of substance, and never really one-on-one. like clark’s always there and talking and they just kinda look at each other. (feel free to correct me my comic recall isn’t great). the most i’ve seen them interact was in clips from yjtv, and that was very much the ‘uncle kon and nephew jon’ dynamic (and jon was like 5).

pre-jon age up, there was definitely opportunity for some brotherly bonding. my personal favorite scenario is even with clark not adopting kon, jon takes one look at him and is like ‘yeah this is my older brother now’ and involves kon in various shenanigans. jon thinks kon is the absolute coolest and kon is fiercely protective of jon (ex. luthor tries to pull some shit with jon and kon just pummels him). they go on adventures throughout the galaxy and spend time together at the kent farm. kon helps jon navigate his kryptonian abilities and is a safe space he can come to when he doesn’t want to talk to his parents or just needs to chill out. jon gives kon a sense of purpose and identity. he’s no longer just superboy- the clone of superman and lex luthor, but jon’s big brother as well.

even with jon aged up, i do think dc has a great opportunity to create a bond between them. the main reason i’ve kept up with son of kal el was hoping that jon and kon would interact (i hoped in vain). they’ve both had very similar experiences in having a lost childhood (kon just didn’t get one and jon spent the majority of his imprisoned in another dimension) and feeling like outsiders. kon will truly never fit in with humans being kryptonian and never truly be trusted by the el’s as a half clone of luthor. jon’s civilian identity has been ripped away from him and his connection to his kryptonian side is gone. he was deprived of his heritage growing up because clark and lois kept it from him. they both share a unique situation as half-human half-kryptonian and some of the last of an endangered alien race. with clark ‘dead’ this is a great place for them to come together and bond as brothers to face the uncertain future.

so to answer your question, i think they could be the closest, most kickass, and most iconic siblings. but hey, that’s just my two cents

I have a fic about it 👀 but I don't think much happened. At least, nothing too significant that the viewers would have needed to see.

Shortly after Vi gazed lovingly at Caitlyn, I think Caitlyn may have smiled. In my mind, they held hands with their eyes closed for a bit and then fell asleep. It was early in the morning at that point, and I think they would have woken up in the afternoon. They definitely took a shower and washed their clothes because Vi's outfit looked incredibly fresh and clean at the Council, compared to when she brought Caitlyn home:

It may be easy to overlook how important this period of time was for Caitlyn and Vi because it happened off-screen, but I think it allowed for Caitlyn to ask “what about us?” and for Vi to answer with “wasn’t meant to be”. Not because something crucial happened off-screen, but because it gave them a moment together in private where they were both getting comfortable being in each other’s presence - away from any threat and safe in Caitlyn’s big ass mansion.

Vi could have gotten used to this Kiramman comfort after years locked up in Stillwater, and I think Vi lashing out at the Council members afterwards was her snapping out of that fantasy. It isn’t meant for people like her, she’s not welcome in Caitlyn’s world (”back where I came from (...) that’s what everyone up here wants”) - that sort of deal. 

Their time spent together between the bed scene and the Council meeting was necessary for them to be more comfortable with each other. Think about how Vi casually laid on Caitlyn’s bed like she belonged there, but she later stormed out of the Council, feeling like nobody wanted her in Piltover. Caitlyn was the one making her feel this comfortable being herself, in a Councilor’s house no less.

Ive been a follower for a while but we've never talked, but i wanted to say i think i understand how you feel when the excitement isnt requited about f/o stuff. It makes you feel SO horribly empty that it makes you scared to even talk about your f/o's again, at least for me.
