it’s also baffling to me that tumblr, home of the ‘why are white men Still being cast as the doctor’ for So many years now (For you know, like over a decade.) is somehow not appalled that they hired a white dude to be the next Doctor because look okay it’s okay if it’s This white man. 

I mean, I do not consent to acknowledge that they’ve shoved him in there under any circumstance, but my Only need for the casting of the next person was that it was Not a white man, otherwise i didn’t care who it was, so when they “announced” Gatwa I was satisfied (i am hesitant to say they announced it bc it was more like a tiny footnote than an announcement, oh the disrespect) and it took a whole seven days (it was literally seven days. Yes i counted. it was easy since it was only seven days) it was ‘actually sorry no it’s this white dude we’ve already had before did we forget to mention that???’ and it’s steadily gotten worse and worse. 

That This site of all places is not up in arms about both the situation and how it specifically played out is depressing, but also massively and darkly hilarious.  

Especially since i Also remember nobody on this site thought casting Whittaker was good enough but literally going backward to a previous white man is?? This is not even a metaphor about diversity getting worse, they literally looked backwards. 

But, yeah,  tenn/ant with the ‘what the future looks like’ headline is uh... Good???? Not super worrying and ominous? 

I feel like i’ve been dumped in some weird parallel universe by reactions to all of this on here like??? the whole way this was done was appalling, the situation is appalling, but i guess the bbc/disney should get a rousing round of applause for accurately judging that nobody would care about their poor actions if the specific white guy they cast was popular enough that next to nobody would care. 

( and to the ‘it’s an anniversary ep’ thing, they legit could have just set a couple of eps in the past. i don’t mean they travel to the past. i mean just say ‘hey this ep is set during s4!’ and nobody would care. this show does weirder stuff than this every second episode. and it would still be bad, but how they did it is so much Worse.)

How you'd rewrite Dishonored death of the outsider if it was fully fledged game with 10 missions? (like Dishonored or Dishonored 2)

Oooh!! Enrichment in my enclosure - thank you for asking! Thinking about a total rewrite was a great exercise. Fair disclaimer: I haven’t read the books & their canon-status can’t hurt me. To me, the Dishonored games stand out due to their immsim design philosophy, and thinking about some of the industry reasons for DotO’s departure from that, if I could make a standalone game with ~ten levels I would, but with the same budget I’d also happily make two DLCs made slowly over a longer timeframe with greater attention to detail.

Setting & Characters

Billie: What has Billie been doing since she’s returned to Serkonos? Knowing the Dreadful Wale will sink, she’s sold it for scrap & has set up an agency in Lower Aventa. She’s something of a detective/odd-jobs man (& assassin when it suits her). Business is booming, life is good. I think a long-running implication that she's becoming Daud in some ways would make for an interesting subplot.

Karnaca: a city that unfolds. In the first levels, Billie feels like a forgotten woman, a ghost slipped through the cracks, but as levels progress there are hints & references to how her past actions have affected others & shaped the city

Alignments: Witches, gangs, religion, industry; missions for clients who can’t necessarily pay their way. Missions that allow the player to explore/understand Karnaca in a deeper way.

Daud: Billie is unsure if Daud again will bring her any closure. She’s been thinking of him since her time with Emily, and his name keeps popping up.

Deirdre: the charm is a more functional heart, similar to Jessamine, as well as her own character design. Perhaps she doesn’t see Deirdre until she chooses the powers, or until she’s in the void (see next point)

First arc: Finding Daud // Billie’s past

Powers: the Outsider offers Billie powers even though her life is finally, actually good, so she’s pissed off. A choice - she can take them, or play no powers mode.

Breanna Ashworth is this arc’s villain - she wants Delilah back, and knows that Daud has banished her before, wants to know how he did it. Grief & desperation has changed her, and she no longer has her high society veneer. The remnants of the Karnaca coven, now powerless, have stolen from the Overseers to arm themselves to the teeth, and to neutralise Daud’s powers, in addition to black bonecharms.

Billie’s in a race against time against Breanna to find Daud, but by the last level it becomes clear that Breanna *has* found Daud, and has been torturing him for information about the void. Her dynamic with Billie is complicated by their past.

I think betrayal would be an interesting theme, so maybe one of the levels gives you the option to ally yourself with Breanna under false pretences.

Second arc: choosing the fate of the Outsider // Billie’s future

Delilah is the core villain, but she’s obsessed with killing the Outsider so she can take his place, having been violently ripped from her perfect world in her own painting by Breanna (who meant well), & knowing the Empire doesn’t hold her interest... but a perfectly mouldable void & infinite power does take her fancy.

As remorseful Daud is obsessing about preventing Delilah from taking power, Billie’s doing some detective work and learns more about the Outsider (he’s not showing up and monologuing - she’s finding this out herself. A level idea could be a raid on a ‘haunted’ houses where the void is thin)

Delilah succeeds in taking the Outsider's place, leaving the Outsider dead or mortal depending on if you are able to save him. Delilah has split her soul from herself before and she’s very much clever enough to learn the Outsider’s name to render him mortal.

Daud knows he’s dying, though, and it might be an ultimate sacrifice to save both Billie’s life, and the Outsider’s.

So during the final battle, there’s an option to make Daud the Outsider, because Daud wants Billie and the Outsider to have a shot at a normal life, and his life was forfeit in his own mind…

… or, reluctantly accepting the Outsider’s help, Billie finds a way to cut the void’s access to the world, rendering Delilah an all powerful god over a dead & silent world.

Because of the past/present focus of this you could even have levels set in the past - missions with Billie & Daud. Perhaps Billie as POV character, and Daud dropping by the way that Billie did in Knife of Dunwall. That’d be neat.

the crazy thing about ap testing is that they would give you essay questions like “was slavery good or bad” but we would be taught not to answer what you believe, but answer what you can best support from the documents you’re given. so you look at the documents and 9/10 of them are pro-slavery documents from the 1700s so millions of high schoolers have to write entire essays on why slavery was good

Eddie and you doing the whole “you hang up, no you hang up” thing except it’s just him sitting in silence because he’s so goddamn high that he straight up forgot he was on the phone with you. Okay, so thanks to the last poll I decided to start selling outfits for nui plushies. I wanted to have an array of different styles before I start adding them to my shop. Here are some of the test outfits I have prepared. There's still a lot more I need to finish though...

The two Ace and Floyd are wearing are my take on a more street style fashion look. I wanted a mock turtleneck and checkered pattern.

The one Riddle is wearing is what I like to call sickly Victorian child, aka what Akutagawa would wear.

Deuce and Cater are wearing something simple and cute, perfect for everyday wear.

I've got something for you to brain about: What would be the ideal vacation/holiday for Buck, Davey and Minne (Either each's preference or as a group)? What would they end up *actually* doing?

Also has answering these asks been helping you with your homework and exams and stuff? Not in a position where I'm doing lots of those but always looking for stuff to help with that.

this is an extremely funny thing to think about because now that I think about it, I'm not sure if any of the three have been on a vacation in their entire lives. (Davey grew up kinda poor and if Buck/Minnie ever got a "vacation", it was really more of a PR tour with their superhero families, so not exactly. vacation-y.) I think Davey might like to see Puerto Rico at least once (he's Afro-Puerto Rican but he's never actually been), and I think all three of them would enjoy going to some kind of amusement park, especially something with roller coasters - though half the fun for Buck (and Davey, to a lesser extent) might be eyeballing and criticizing the structure and engineering of the rides. Minnie'd also probably like going to museums, especially science museums. I think Buck would probably be happiest going to somewhere with good food, especially if it's kind of quiet - he's not great with crowds and conversation.

(and it really has!! adhd brain needs Big Seratonin Hits to get tasks done and knowing i get to talk about my funny guys definitely hits that. I managed to get my whole backlog done with between answering asks (: )

Sometimes when I’m bored I make high-level dnd characters and use them to test random homebrew enemies or just play around with abilities or enemies I’m never going to get to use in a campaign. Today’s experiment was a level 20 group that consisted of:

- my swashbuckler/bladesinger/hexblade multi class abomination

- a Goliath berserker barb / champion fighter multi class (also an abomination)

- a changeling Lunar sorcerer

- a dhampir Death cleric

- a scourge aasimar Vengeance paladin

They took on a Red Greatwyrm. I forgot a lot of abilities so it wasn’t as accurate of a test as I wanted to do. But it was still fun to just fuck around. (My favorite part is making the high-level sheets with magic items and spells and stuff.)

Some highlights of my Horrible (or Excellent) Decision Making (character creation edition):

- Sorcerer had a 25 spell save DC, and focus on psychic magic. So lots of INT saves. Greatwyrm only has +5 to INT checks, so that burned through its Legendary Resistances SUPER fast. (Also Psychic Lance incapacitates a target on a failure and Mind Whip forces them to choose between action, bonus action, or move, so once the Greatwyrm burned through its legendaries, it was fucked.)

- Swash-hex-singer has a base AC of 29 with (boots of) Haste and Bladesong, plus the ability to Shield and bring it up to 34. Can also cast Silvery Barbs and Mirror Image for added impossibility to hit them. Even a dragon only has a little more than a 50% chance of hitting them at base. 2 attacks per action plus boots of haste for 4 attacks per turn. Plus 6d6 sneak attack once per turn. Also Evasion and Uncanny Dodge for reduced damage from AoEs like dragon breath. Oh, and Hexblade’s Curse. :)

- Berseker Champion crits on 19 or 20, has 4 rages, reckless attacks, 3 attacks per action, action surge, indomitable, 2 fighting styles, Stone’s Endurance. Plus Slasher and Great Weapon Master feats for bonus crit stuff. This thing is a damage-making, damage-taking machine. (Well over 200 HP and AC 20 with bracers of defense plus barb rage resistances.)

- Aasimar Paladin has Avenging Angel plus Radiant Consumption, which is an excellent combo. Not to mention the Vow of Enmity. Sentinel and Slasher feats for extra fun. (Also had a huge bunch of hit points.)

- Dhampir Cleric has spell save DC 23, plus focus on Necrotic damage and healing. 9th level Mass Heal was a very good use of a 9th level. And necrotic damage is just badass. Can also Misty Step from Dhampir.

Basically I enjoy making fucked up multiclasses that are too powerful for their own good and would probably not be allowed in most campaigns. And these little experiments are a fun way to test them out.

i should get more method by smoking more weed + remembering the million times i got too fucked up and thought i was going to die or just very but not too fucked up and how it felt in the moment. the confusion, weird fixations, wack visuals, nausea, dissassociation, shame, real and vivid fear of death.

i can tell y'all i have had someone make active attempts on my life but there is no death as frightening as the idea of dying in a puddle of puke and other bodily fluids feeling so disoriented and so much physical pain and discomfort that you'd pay a million dollars to crawl directly out of your body. there's easier OD concepts to stomach like one depressants but the concept of dying on a psychedelic or an upper or even a stimulating dissociative is terrifying. or dying from contaminants which injure you a lot more than whatever you were meaning to take ever could.

i want to write angel having a seizure the way i did. i want to write him compulsively adding different substances because just the one isn't enough. i want to torture this lil guy as he tries and fails to save himself :3
