D&D OC Intro
(inspired by @goldenwaves's post!!)
[transcript under the cut]
This is FAR from everyone, but it's the characters I've played for more than a oneshot, and the ones I actually talk about. (I would have added Asra, but I didn't have a pic of her with a black background. I'll probably update this later.)
TRANSCRIPT:
Zenara Raventhorn (aka Zen)
Tiefling Warlock (Pact of the Fiend)
The first D&D character I ever played.
Only got to play two sessions with them.
Unintentionally inspired by Critical Role Campaign 2
Backstory written between 1-3am on my phone.
Has an imp familiar who looks like a raven.
Occasionally gets possessed by their patron, and then gets given new powers as an "apology".
Fire theme.
Rook (Adrian Lockwood)
Half-elf Rogue (Swashbuckler)
First (and only) character to make it past 8 sessions. (So far.)
Disaster bisexual pirate boy with SO MUCH trauma.
Wields a magic rapier that was a gift from his captain + first mentor.
Enemies with a different pirate captain who wants to capture him.
Has decent charisma but relatively terrible social skills.
Bastard son of a nobleman. Has daddy issues.
Reckless and impulsive to a fault. Would die for his friends.
May or may not be cursed by a demon lord.
Asola Riava Ashmark
Aasimar Paladin (Oath of Vengeance)
Made it 8 sessions before we switched campaigns.
Doesn't know she's an aasimar. Her powers show up when she experiences extreme emotions and it's only ever happened twice in her life.
Got briefly possessed and then force-shut-down by a literal god.
Has a habit of picking up stray traumatized young people.
The party's moral compass. Tried to keep them somewhat in line.
Believes that laying down her life to save someone else's is worth it. Swears she doesn't have self-worth issues.
Morana Novak
Witch (Curse Patron)
Character for an eventual Pathfinder game.
Named after a Slavic goddess of death and winter.
Necromancer, got kicked out of her hometown for graverobbing and experimenting on corpses.
Her familiar is a raven named Miro, who she rescued and trained.
Autistic as hell, which will be fun for me to play.
Very creepy and unsettling person.
One of her future party members nicknamed her "Mortician".
Cyra
Fire Genasi Barbarian (Path of the Storm Herald)
Newest character on this powerpoint.
Fights with a magical flaming quarterstaff that she can summon from inside herself.
Has a stolen, magically powered vehicle.
Formerly part of a cult. Only stayed around for their toxic then-girlfriend.
Somehow basically the least traumatized member of the party. That was NOT the plan.

hi !! I was wondering if you have any dnd characters you wanna talk about :) (in response to ur tags on my post)
ARE YOU KIDDING ME, OF COURSE I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is going under the cut because I talk too much!
So, the love of my fucking life is my swashbuckler rogue, Rook. (art of him here and here.) He has a very, very fucked up backstory, which I talked about here. (mind the tws on that post.)
I posted several snippets of the prose version I did of my favorite session I've ever played with him here. (again, mind the tws.) (I will gladly share the link to that entire doc if anyone wants to read it, as I'm very proud of it.)
But to be brief, he's the bastard son of a nobleman who's father hated him. He ran away from home as a teen, booked it to the nearest port town, and joined the crew of a pirate ship, captained by a woman named Zara. She was his mentor for YEARS and taught him everything. She also gifted him his magic rapier.
He got named first mate, which some people took issue with since he was one of the youngest crew members. They betrayed him and kidnapped him, giving him to rival pirate captain Kora Wolf, who kept him prisoner for two years before he was able to escape.
He ran away and entered the Feywild and was hiding there for several months before he was recruited by the party.
Currently, my poor man is having a terrible time. Two of the his party members are close with Captain Wolf, and one of them bought her lies about Rook, and now doesn't trust him. On top of this, he's been cursed by a demon lord, which is currently affecting him by not letting him sleep, partly due to terrible nightmares.
He's a super interesting character because on one hand he's very paranoid and mistrusting (especially now with his lack of sleep), but he also has never been shown much kindness in life, and it doesn't take all that much for him to be willing to die for you. He's incredibly reckless and will dive into dangerous situations without a second's thought, especially to save his friends. He joined a pirate crew because he was terrified of getting stuck in one boring place, and that says a lot about him. He idolizes Zara, and I have NO IDEA how he'll react when he meets her again, since he never got to say goodbye and has changed so much in the nearly 3 years since he saw her. Our party's gunslinger lowkey adopted him, and after the scene I linked above, he told someone "I missed having someone to take care of." which almost broke me.
As you can tell, I'm obsessed with this man, and I love making his life miserable. But don't worry, he'll get his happy ending. I have plans for an Inigo Montoya-style revenge duel between him and Wolf, and it's gonna be great.
My other current character is Cyra (she/they), a fire genasi barbarian/fighter. She was raised by a cult-like warband following the destruction of her hometown as a child. Later, she ended up falling in "love" with the daughter of the leader, and having a very toxic, fucked-up relationship with her. She eventually realized how bad her situation was, and realized there was no saving her gf or changing her mind, so she ran off, stealing a sand skiff as she left. They're currently becoming buddies with our party rogue, which was completely unexpected to all of us, players and characters. Last session we left off mid-combat with undead pirates in attempts to get some cursed treasure. Oh, and they have a flaming metal quarterstaff that they can summon by pulling it out of their chest. Which a major villain (who happens to be the rogue's ex-wife) wants so badly she tried to rip it out of Cyra's chest...
As for other characters, I have some very, very fun concepts for a few, including:
Zenara (they/them): tiefling warlock who was an accidental mix of a bunch of character from Critical Role Campaign 2. Occasionally gets possessed by their patron and wakes up with no memories of the shit they've done.
Avra: shadar-kai/reborn assassin who should be dead, but woke up somehow "alive" again after a mission gone wrong.
Morana: character for a future pathfinder game that will happen someday. Autistic necromancer witch with a raven familiar. Creepy as hell and very morbid. No empathy and very practical, to a degree that other people occasionally find disconcerting. Exiled from her hometown for graverobbing and necromancy. Apprenticed under a guy who turned himself into a lich.
I have literally over 30 other character concepts, but most of them are not well-developed, and this post is already WAY too long.
Now, PLEASE, TELL ME EVERYTHING. I wanna hear about your characters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how long have you been playing? what's your favorite class? Tell me all about your fucked up little guys!!!

ooo what inspired your tav design? like did you go in with a specific character in mind, or did it come from playing around with the character maker?
Oh boy ok. You’re about to find out just how insane I get over RPG character creation. “marty you don’t have to disclose it” I can’t believe you guys are forcing me to do this.
SO, I actually started bg3 with another character entirely, a ghityanki bard, which I thought would be fun and for a bit it was! But I wasn’t feeling crazy about her and when I play an RPG I love to turn my PC into a proper OC I can be obsessed with, so I restarted the game and before I went to character creation I literally sat down with a sketchbook and started brainstorming.
I wanted my pc to have an aesthetic of her own separate from the main companions but I also wanted her to blend in with the rest of the cast, I went for dark urge bc I heard that it gives you a personal quest and I landed for half drow and wild magic sorcerer, which is another class no major companion has (and also, I’ve always wanted to play wild magic even in regular dnd and this was a nice excuse to!)
Her aesthetic pretty much came up as I was sketching her and thinking about all the info above, what could set her apart but still feel like she could blend in? And most importantly, what would be fun for ME to draw? And so I went for witchy goth woman and luckily the design I sketched was very easy to reproduce in the character creator - and the rest came up organically as I drew more of her.
(I also named her after my very first dnd character Brigha, a half orc warlock, and it’s only after I finalized her design that I realized I’d borrowed some elements from hers eheh)
Tumblr media
Witch goth was especially fun to play with bc I feel like most companions have a goth vibe about them but we’re missing the mean, spooky, feminine witch archetype (yes, morrigan from dao was part of the inspiration I love my wife <3). You could argue that Gale sort of fills the witch role already but I feel like they stand very nicely at opposite ends of the witch spectrum which is also fun considering their wizard-sorcerer one sided animosity.

Moments When I Feel The Presence Of My Deities
I got this idea from @persephonesfoxway, who in turn got this idea from @caduceussky! Please give both of them a follow! ^^
☀️Apollo:
When I'm working on freelance work (I'm a video editor)
When I sing solo karaoke in my room
When I take morning walks
When I do tarot card readings
When I smell something citrus-y
When I play DnD (he loves to listen in)
🌖 Cerridwen:
When I listen to Celtic Woman
When I research something I'm interested in
When I think about my Celtic heritage (she's the one that pushed for me to delve further into it)
When I look at the moon
When I read poetry
When I write in my Book of Shadows (She's really big about me gaining knowledge and learning more about my craft and the path that suits me best. I can feel her pride with every new spell I take the time to learn and write down)
🦋 Oonagh:
When I see butterflies (like I said before, she LOVES butterflies)
When I think about my childhood
When I watch dance videos (she's been adamant about me taking it up myself)
When I think of Spring
When I practice self care
When I put a gift together for my partner (she always seems so excited to listen whenever I gush about him and I can feel her smile whenever I take the time to put together something to show him I'm thinking of him)
💀 Hades:
When I walk by the graveyard near my workplace (was the place that truly had me start feeling his presence)
When I spend time with my younger sibling (they're a Hades devotee and I can always feel him right there with us whenever we're together)
When I see a dog
When I brew peppermint tea
When I watch a horror movie or video series
When I wear all black
⚔️The Morrigan:
When I feel that burning rage in the face of injustice (the landscape of current Twitter certainly made that feeling well known)
When I'm playing a difficult video game
When I see the color red
When I show support to my friends and loved ones
When I go through with doing something that initially made me feel scared or anxious (despite her being new to my space, I'm starting to realize that her presence has been here for a long time; ever since I started on this journey figuring out who I am)
When I take the time to move my body and exercise

anybody want a discord to join?
so. wei created a huge multifandom rp focused discord, especially with lesser known fandoms in mind! it has all kinds of fun stuff and you can really choose your own experience! (ignore the name of the server, it was the only thing we could think of to call it)
you might want to join if:
. you want a server that is dedicated to being the best it can be!
. you want a server that respects all headcanons and interpretations while appreciating literary analysis
. you like one or more small fandoms, want to meet other people who like those same fandoms, and maybe even rp as well
. you like dnd
. you want to have the option to create and post things for rps or to not have anything created/posted for rps if you want!
. you like servers where non-mods get to have a lot of say in everything basically on the level of mods
you might not want to join if:
. you don't like the idea of there not being a limit to the amount of people who can rp as a character or how many characters someone can rp as
. you don't like the idea of anyone being able to submit any fandom to either be able to be RPed as or to be banned from rp.
. anything else in the rules and info channels doesn't sound good to you
. you would be uncomfortable with the fact that the only time when wei would consider adding a limit to people joining would be when there are multiple active people for every character in every fandom
. you would want to have stuff created and posted for every rp, even if someone in said rp wouldn't be comfortable with that
. you don't like that the mod team, including us, the server owners, aren't going to be an authority thing but rather a group to carry out server tasks
. you aren't comfortable with the fact that the media here is going to be imperfect and that there will probably be Cwed discussions of said imperfection
mentioning + tagging some of the smaller fandoms and characters that are added in here (as well as mentioning who wei play for transparency)(nowhere near an exhaustive list of every fandom but mostly tagging the smallest ones so that wei can find more people, also wei only tagged some but typed and tagged other fandoms so yeah):

our life now and forever
(wei play tamarack and our olnf oc)
beyblade, beyblade burst, beyblade metal fury, etc.
(wei play free de la hoya and gingka hagane)
ayakashi romance reborn
(wei play yura and kuro)
emily the strange
(wei play emily lestrange, based off of the novels mostly)
dear dumb diary
(wei play jamie kelly)

(wei play finis)
nevermoor
(wei play morrigan crow)
return of the blossoming blade/return of the mount hua sect

OC Height Tag
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was tagged by @hauntedtrait. Thank you fangs!!!
I'll tag @goldenwaves (I wanna see Clem next to Asa, aksdjasds.), @potionio @salemssimblr @panicsimss and @warwickroyals
OOPS, SORRY, I FORGOT THE LINK. HERE YOU GO
Commentary under the cut.
Here's the main cast of RTQ/ATQH (I really wanted to add the side characters too, but it was already getting to be so many...). Technically Fallon is the only one of those sims that I made, but I have custody of all of them. (Order is just the order they're in on the character page, cause that's where I had to check all their heights, lmao.) I try my best to include height differences in my poses, but they're usually more subtle than the actual ones, partly because posing two drastically different height characters is a pain in the ass.
The second group is some of my favorite D&D characters I've come up with. Cyra and Rook I'm currently playing, Zen was the first character I ever played and I played them for two sessions, Laverna was made for a tumblr thing well before I ever played dnd, but I'd love to play her someday, and Morana is for a pathfinder game that I will be in someday. I could have done more, but I didn't know who else to choose, these were most of my named characters anyways, ajdakjds.
As you can probably tell, I have a very skewed perception of normal heights, lmao. I'm 5'10, and Fallon is my shortest OC that I can name off the top of my head, at 5'6". And I rarely make any taller than 6'1" or so. Most of them clock in at either 5'10" or 5'11" because those are the ideal heights in my mind, lmao.

So my university's table top club had a "monster mash" where people could submit their homebrew monsters, and then people would vote. And I submitted a redone version of my Bloodsucker Rose Garden. I literally never win anything so I wasn't expecting much. But today I get a message from the leader of the club saying I was the only submission. So I guess I win, but only because I was the only option. I don't know whether to laugh or cry about this, but hey, at least I get a free dice set out of it????

For ask game! bound: Has your OC ever been imprisoned or captured? What happened? How did they get out? Did the experience leave any scars?
Hello! Thanks for the ask!
bound: Has your OC ever been imprisoned or captured? What happened? How did they get out? Did the experience leave any scars?
I was going to avoid talking about D&D characters on my writing blog, but in this case, there's no other option than to talk about my boy Rook. (He's my half-elf pirate swashbuckler who I love more than life itself.)
MAJOR TW for torture/imprisonment/etc. under the cut!!
He was betrayed by some of his former crewmates, and ended up being sold into the hands of a vicious pirate captain named Kora Wolf. He went out for a few drinks with some of the crew, and woke up chained to the wall of a cell in the hold of her ship, the Sea Snake, miles out to sea. He was kept in her hold for a little over 2 years before he finally was able to escape. He seized his chance when most of the crew (including the captain) was on shore, picking the locks on his chains and his cell and making his escape. On the way out, he set the deck of the ship on fire by knocking over a barrel of lamp oil and throwing a lantern on it. He then jumped overboard and swam under the docks to hide, crawling onto shore several hours later. He certainly has many, many, many scars from that experience, both physical and mental. Captain Wolf tortured him, sometimes personally, sometimes preferring just to watch. He has a number of scars on his back from being whipped, along with various others, including a notable scar just below his left collarbone from a stab-based wound that got infected. Spending two years in almost complete isolation aside from those sessions was certainly damaging to him in many ways, not only physical. He also has frequent nightmares about his time on the ship, as well as some degree of paranoia. He also is often touch-averse, especially without warning and/or by people he doesn't trust. Unfortunately for him, Captain Wolf has been searching for him in the months since his escape, and she just recently found him... (We're actually going to see her again next session, which is bad news for my boy, but excellent news for me. I love roleplaying Rook when it comes to his backstory.)

hellooooooooooooo i realized i have never done like a full list of my ocs. so here it is
amma theylin: dark elf rogue, chaotic neutral (leans evil), dual-wielding swords and ranged bow, proficient in being sneaky and being hot. tragic backstory is she became infatuated with a guy who was trying really hard to be lawful good and when he dropped the ball on their coup d'état plot she killed him and ran. will do literally anything if it pays well enough. played her in dnd, bg3 and elder scrolls.
lady gwendolyn viridience morrigan, druidess, esq.: half-elf druid, usually chaotic good, majored in botany, minored in ethically questionable usage of charm spells. tends a greenhouse that holds a portal to the feywild, the stewardship of which she was bequeathed by a very powerful archwizard and mentor and good friend, on his deathbed. she never wanted it but the choice was between her and her evil sister/s so the archwizard gave it gwen. now she uses it to (1) be the best damn florist in neverwinter (2) howl's moving castle her way away from bad fantasy tinder dates because she's a hopeless romantic and terrified of commitment. played her in dnd and bg3.
samson o'dare: human/aasimar paladin, true good, big sword and bigger shield, great with animals, has wings like a mourning dove. he worshiped chauntea as a child and then one day lathander appeared to him in the middle of a field and told him it was his holy holy duty to be a paladin of light. samson was like hell yeah i want a sword. and began adventuring. adventuring quickly proved to be far more unpleasant than he had expected and he prays to chauntea every day like "mom i'm scared come pick me up". played him in dnd and bg3.
nol barrow-bound: undead death cleric, ??? (she is extremely impressionable), sickle and staff/half-caster, uses a human skull as an arcane focus and has 1 million holy symbols on her person. used to be a hag's apprentice and then she woke up on the side of the road one day and was just like, "guess i'm an entrepreneur now". gifted alchemist, even more gifted necromancer, makes her living as an herbalist and medium, lowkey cheats on the medium part because she just tells people what they want to hear (or at least what she thinks they want to hear) but she doesn't see it as cheating because she IS contacting the dead she just isn't letting them be RUDE. collects roadkill. also kind of looks like roadkill. one time i thought "haha what if nol and samson were in an adventuring party together" and now they're tragedy-to-romance endgame lovers. played her in dnd and skyrim. she's usually my go-to for dnd oneshots :')
sigg solveig/sigourney gevaudan: human (? she's huge, there's no way she's fully human)/werewolf barbarian, will change her entire ethos if a hot girl says so, sword/axe/hammer so big it is physically impossible for people other than her to wield. tragic backstory is she contracted lycanthropy at a young age and wound up killing her familar. she went into hiding and became a fighter, a laborer, a soldier, whatever put food on her table, but eventually her lycanthropic bloodlust got hard to control and she became a hermit rather than risk killing her loved ones again. she is not smart or wise or especially clever but why would she need to be when she can crush someone's head with one hand. womanizer but her deepest wish is to get married and be a stay-at-home mom baking for her wife every day. played her in pathfinder and skyrim.
princess daisychain frances van pancypants iii: goblin, class variable but generally support/healing, true good. looks like an albino bat. raised by halflings. the sweetest, nicest, tiniest magical girl you will ever meet. completely filled with love. knows one (1) swear word. played her in dnd.
arkhemites "miette" du bäl: tiefling warlock, something evil but might go on a hero's journey idk, worships whatever tentacled space monster is native to the setting. wants to plunge the world into entropy so it can be born anew. she's noble or royal but has like 16 sisters and most of them are older. played her in starfinder.

Lies told, truths shown, a changeling is many things because a person has many parts of them.
Trust Wanderlust/Ink/Mary/Icarus: the changeling ranger/bard with an updo, who is by default overly formal for the occasion, and chaotic neutral and fab with painted nails and a prominant facial scar.
So @morrigan-sims has a DnD CAS Challenge and as my nerdy self already had my changeling and some of their forms done up, and I rolled a near exact match (seriously all I had to do was paint his nails and ok slightly more chaotic good than chaotic neutral but he's ~flexible~), so YES SPOTLIGHT TIME.
IF you want VIBES I literally have a whole ass spotify play list for this dude.
