Chapter 18: “When Albus passed the same diner that he, Easton and Polly had eaten at last night, the sight of the lone customer waiting for the place to open did not soothe him whatsoever.

Albus turned around quickly as the customer sprung from his casual stance where he leaned against the wall.

“Al!” he exclaimed, and Albus squeezed his eyes shut, hoping his expended mind was just casting him nightmarish figments from his exhausted imagination. “I see you! Don’t try to run away from me!”

Albus cringed and turned around, staring at his brother, who wore that annoyingly arrogant and completely in-character grin. James always looked like he had won some sort of competition. Especially around Albus.

“Hey James,” he grumbled, not bothering to hide his grouchiness.”

Chapter 19: “In a flash of yellow, Albus was brought to the scene of a panting woman, letting her newborn son wrap his chubby, red hands around her thumb. Her brown hair was splayed out on the hospital pillow, and she was gasping from the remnants of her exertion, though her expression was cleared of any pain. Her hospital gown rumpled, face flushed, eyes impressed with shadows and weary lines etched into the sharp corners of her collarbone and the ridge beside her mouth, yet Albus had never seen someone so happy. Her kind brown eyes were trained on the baby in her arms, like if she blinked she’d lose him forever, or he’d lose her. A wild, possessive treasuring of this moment, a burning desire for things to simply stop, a plea for the rest of the world to let her be with her baby, if only for this moment.

“Scorpius,” she smiled, murmuring the name like a prayer. Like all he had to do was exist and she would never ask for anything ever again.”

writing sirius’s speech in ootp and beyond-era fic is so confusing, because in fanon fic sirius speaks deliberately casually with phrases rolling into one another and under-enunciated. whereas in the books he speaks more deliberately, if still quite rough and sometimes thoughtless, but also a lot more aggressively. then in the movies he speaks very deliberately, where his words are carefully chosen and he has tiny pauses as if he’s thinking about exactly the right way to say something, especially with harry. everything is carefully annunciated and there’s this air to it that’s sometimes almost soft

so i’ll be writing a conversation between him and remus where he’ll be the one saying ‘yeah’ and cutting off halfway through his phrases and easily slipping into slang - then i’ll move to a conversation between him and harry and it’s slower and more considered and full of ‘yes’ and ‘harry...’ and all these words which deliberately slow the pace. and i have no idea how to stick with one. it’s all so inconsistent

the best i can come up with is sirius’s speech when he feels he needs to perform in some way (in front of the order, when taking care of harry, any situation that needs strength or competence basically), and then a different way of speaking when he’s alone and can be more vulnerable and casual. but still. i don’t know

Guess who finally got a decent hydro damage goblet!

#now these #these are crunchy stats #i went to try him out and i can get 80k on his ranged burst and 100k on his melee one if i can vaporize crit it #those poor treasure hoarders and their like 40k hp #it was absolutely unnecessary #but i needed easy prey #i'm glad i took my chances rolling the goblet everything went into crit damage and atk%#i wish the substats were better but i'll get a better one eventually #for now this is very good #he's so spoiled #signature weapon. triple crowned. my only level 90 so far.#he may be c0 but he's obliterating everything i throw him at #i am very happy #genshin #elemental mastery isn't fantastic but I don't vape his damage often enough to prioritize it #i pretty much only vape his bursts #not worth sacrificing attack but i'll take em substats if they come to me #i like er on him spam that burst babygirl #ray's records

I've changed Zhongli's artifacts so many times since version 1.5 I hate the whole artifact thing so much, I've tried to get a decent burst dps-shield Zhongli but the artifact drop rates are shit and the sub stats are horrendous.

Been grinding since april 2021 and Zhongli's stats are still not there yet nor balanced. It's been so long since then that I have a lot more characters now and need to get artifacts for them too, the whole experience is traumatic tbh.

How's your Zhongli build?

ngl,,,, back in april 2021,,,, i used to be a phys dmg zhongli main (take note, i was a noob at artifacts and everything) but then i changed my ways and decided to understand better on what artifacts do so i went from phys dmg to burst-shield

thankfully i had a lot of hp and good noblesse artifacts and i was somehow lucky to get a decent tenacity set, but i wouldnt say hes insane w the dmg since he usually deals 20k-50kwith his ult and if im lucky, he can deal 70k+ (his stats aren’t balanced). tho what dmg he deals doesnt matter to me since his shield is amazing, so in conclusion, my zhongli build right now isnt bad but not super great either in terms of dmg — but hes still useful :DDD

if u want, i can help you grind artifacts for zhongli and other characters u need unless youre not in asia server :DDD

WAIT NOOO IF THE GAMEPLAY FOR FRAGILE!READER INVOLVES BUFFS WHEN THEY GET HURT THEIR META WOULD BE SO MEAN (ToT)

Realistically, the best artifact set for fragile!reader (and by extension Dottore) would be a set that maximises HP cause, imagine that everytime fragile!reader gets hurt, Dottore gets a buff that stacks for his turn on the field

So the Abyss gameplay would be: No shielder since you want them to take damage, and a buffer like Benny or ult buffer like Mona maybe?

Then it would play with fragile!reader running around the field, dropping their supports, basically setting up the field for Dottore and farming energy recharge and stacks as they get damaged

And the recommended style for the best DPS would be: do not switch reader out until Dottore does so himself, since the moment reader hits red bar or gets a heavy hit, he comes in

Then you just go ham with him! And imagine the cool particles he'd have— idk what they're called, effects?? He has neat effects surrounding him indicating the buff stacks he has and imagine him switching in with a furious voiceline that he snarls, and the longer he stays in the field he slowly regains HP (and by extension healing his beloved)

The showcases would be edit worthy ngl I see them vividly, so the usual Bennet -> Mona -> then Reader = really pissed off Zandik that hits 100K per tick if you build him correctly and an ult that would hit almost 1M

Pretty sure Zandik would kill the player if he could since they're using his beloved like this, but alas (；∀； ) the showcase must go on

AHHH YESSS PUTS THIS IN MY MOUTH AND EATS IT... I love this interpretation sm... I like the idea of fragile reader getting hurt to buff Dottore because that's so in line for their character... they know they can't exactly fight much anymore but they can't help but hold onto the memories of protecting him from everything during the Akademiya, so they just want to be of some use. Even if it means being on life support for the majority of the time, you'll do anything to make it bit easier for him (although it should be the other way around.)

Reader's whole kit is definitely HP-based!! HP artifacts, HP weapon, HP scaling, they are greedy and they want all the health they can possibly get!! Although one would think you want to keep all this health to yourself, considering all you've been through, you're more than willing to take all these hits and damage yourself for Zandik's sake. It's probably quite easy for you to get hit too, you have low resistance and get interrupted by heavy attacks easily. Though that doesn't stop you! Foxttore and Puffttores away!!

When your HP finally drops below a certain amount Dottore automatically switches in!! Ahh the buff visuals,, imagine instead of the yellow thingies around him the special effect is little images of Foxttore or Puffttores hehe to differentiate your buff from others ❤️ (im delusional)

YOU'RE SO RIGHT, THE SHOWCASE EDITS ON DAY ONE OF RELEASE WOULD GO SO HARD 😭 people casually hitting huge numbers at the expense of fragile reader, wondering how far they can push their buffs 💥 (this just makes me more excited for playable Dottore, i want him so bad 😭)
