The Greenfoot Tooth (Hydnellum scabrosum)
This is a potential confusion for Hedgehog fungus (Hydnum repandum) which is a popular edible, and generally very safe for beginners to identify and forage.
This look-a-like can be recognised by its darker, rather than buff cap, smaller spines on the underside, and green tinge to the base of the stipe. Some consider this mushroom poisonous, but it is eaten as a condiment in a dried, powdered form in some countries.

HORROR WEEK- FOTD #150 - red-juice tooth! (hydnellum peckii)
the red-juice tooth (also strawberries & cream, bleeding hydnellum, bleeding tooth fungus, & devil's tooth) is a hydnoid fungus in the family bankeraceae :-) it is mycorrhizal & forms associations with conifers across north america.
the big question : will it kill me?? not at all !! it's edible. however, the blood-red guttation is extremely bitter. ^^"

h. peckii description :
"the fruit bodies typically have a funnel-shaped cap with a white edge, although the shape can be highly variable. young, moist fruit bodies can "bleed" bright red guttation droplets."

There is a hypothesis that a Toad's Mushroom cap is based on the Hydnellum Peckii. It is claimed they start off as white white red spots which turn brown with age using Toadsworth as an example. This comparison falls flat on it's face from the start. The Hydnellum Peckii is light pinkish with red translucent spots. Meanwhile Toad has a white cap with red spots only in his super form, these colors being inverted when they are small. Also, this only applies to some Toads, not all Toads are white with red spots so it can't be universal. Also, Toadsworth has always had brown spots. We actually see a younger Toadsworth in Superstar Saga and he still has his brown spots.

Funguary Feb 14 - Demonic Bleeding Tooth Fungus - Hydnellum peckii
The demonic bleeding tooth fungus exudes red guttation droplets that contain a chemical similar to heparin known to have anticoagulant properties. This ensures that it spreads swiftly through any open wound. Considered related to rabies, instead of producing hydrophobia and anxiety, it creates extreme hemophilia and aggression, turning its now-immortal victims into constantly bleeding infectious nightmares.
