Do you think this fandom can still improve despite everything? Is it Viv and Spindlehorse's fault that this fandom is problematic or there is deeper root cause? Despite the amount of negativity both hh and hb recieved, is it still possible to listen to fans who give constructive criticism and improve both shows? Many fans often say something like"The Spindlehorse's crew don't want to listen to critics because there are too many bad faith criticism and hate" or "Those critics don't have the vision of the creators so their advices are invalid." I think both sides of this fandom are overly aggressive to whatever happened. It must have something behind it.

I think the reason why the fandom reacts so poorly to criticism is a mix of several factors:

These shows are fairly popular, the more popular something is the bigger the fanbase will be. And, likewise, some fans would be very defensive when it comes to criticism.

The batshit insane twitter users and fake outrage being confused with the actual critiques people have of the shows. I'll admit, early critical videos were...not great to say the least (cough cough Pkrussel cough cough), and many of Viv's past controversies are admittedly dumb. However, there are real issues people have with these shows and Vivziepop, however, because of all the past controversies with Viv being over-blown, fans lump these real and valid critiques in with the fake Twitter outrage, causing this confusing mess.

Vivziepop's reaction to critiscm. She directly dismisses critiques people have of her shows and pretty clearly spends a bit too much time on online discourse about her shows. Viv IS aware of the critiques people have of her shows but she has this very immature response to criticism just looking at her twitter, and, this does translate to the fandom as well.

Drama channels such as AyyLmao and Iox constantly defending Viv and her shows. AyyLmao is a fairly big channel and a lot of his videos are about controversies surrounding Viv. Pretty much all of these tend to be heavily biased as AyyLmao instantly takes Viv's side, as in several of his videos he deliberately chooses to lump in the actual critiques of the shows with the deranged Twitter users online, which contributes to the second problem I mentioned above. This can be seen with his hatedom video where he says that most of the criticism at least on Twitter isn't "real criticism" and "just hate disguised on such". Notice how he says that at least on Twitter the criticism is just hate. He's deliberately making it look like the critical community is just a bunch of deranged Twitter users who just hate Viv cuz they are jealous or something, when looking at sites such as Reddit, Youtube, Tumblr, etc you'll see people with ACTUAL PROBLEMS with the shows, by AyyLmao's ignoring that in order paint the critical community as a toxic hell-hole. He pretends to be neutral in the video but he clearly is biased with how he paints the critics here, as he only focuses on this one site just to make it look like the critical community is just an annoying vocal minority on Twitter. and because of that, the fandom views the critical community as just that; just an annoying vocal minority of Twitter users who shouldn't be taken seriously.

The fandom just refusing to engage with people's critiques because they can't handle criticism of their favorite shows. That's pretty obvious.

I don't think the fandom will get better any time soon given these factors I just mentioned. Until Viv learns to accept criticism, until Viv drama channels stop defending her bullshit, and until the fandom actually engages with people's critiques rather than sending death threats...ya no this fandom is still going to be awful.

Good evening everyone! As I said in an answer to a previous ask, there wasn't a public call-in line to listen to the Show Cause Hearing in Mata v Avianca (the ChatGBT lawyer case) today.

However, while we are waiting for a transcript of the hearing (because there was a court reporter! yay!) and a written decision by the judge, we did get this absolutely anxiety-inducing live tweet of the hearing:

(Caveat: this thread was not an official transcript of the hearing and should not be taken as such. It is possible the actual events and statements made in the hearing differ significantly from this report - i.e., take this with a grain of salt and reserve final judgement for the actual transcript.)

I'll put the full thread with some (light) commentary below the cut.* But the overall impression I am left with is that the judge seems to feel this pair of attorneys are treating their duty of candor toward the tribunal with the same seriousness with which they are treating their duty of competence to their clients. (And in this case, that's a very bad thing.)

Normally I would overlook that "you, personally," but in this case, you really get the feeling that the judge is concerned that LoDuca might just start talking about what Schwartz did again.

Establishing LoDuca's base of knowledge - he should know how to look up cases and check if they are real; he should know what a real case looks like.

The March 1 submission was the plaintiff's opposition to the motion to dismiss, where they first cited the fake cases.

How bad this answer is depends, I think, on LoDuca's wording here. Best case scenario, his statement about Schwartz was a specific statement about what inquiry was reasonable for him to do under the circumstances (which - for that first filing - I think is actually a reasonable argument. You don't expect your colleague to just make up cases). Worst case, this reads like him trying to wiggle out of his obligations. I will withhold judgement until I see the official transcript.

Rule 11, by the way, refers to Rule 11 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Rule 11(b) states:

(Those were the orders, remember, where the Court said, "By April 18, 2022, Peter LoDuca, counsel of record for plaintiff, shall file an affidavit annexing copies of the following cases cited in his submission to this Court: as set forth herein. Failure to comply will result in dismissal of the action pursuant to Rule 41 (b), Fed. R. Civ. P.")

I would simply perish on the spot.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention in my original attempted summary of "Varghese" - the first paragraph states that it is a wrongful death suit by the widow of the passenger. Then the second paragraph states that the passenger was denied boarding on a flight due to overbooking and thus missed his connecting flight and therefore incurred additional expenses. The case was such nonsense that I legitimately forgot about that inconsistency by the time I got to the end.

(I believe the "different fonts" is in reference to the April 25 affidavit, in which the case names - and some of the surrounding text - are in a different font from most of the text in the affidavit. It seems like this is because they may have been copied straight from ChatGPT. See e.g., #3 below. It's hard to tell just based on this twitter thread, though.)

Oh man, I haven't gone over it here yet, but I think that "I looked up the judge" is a panicked attempt at bringing up a talking point the Professional Responsibility Lawyers raised in their memorandum of law. (Again, I'm giving this reading of his response with the caveat that it is based only on this thread, not the official transcript, which might read very differently and contain different/more info.) The Professional Responsibility attorneys noted in a footnote that two of the judges listed in the "opinion," including the "author," were actual 11th circuit judges, and the other is an actual 5th circuit judge. My read of this footnote was as an extra little detail tossed in by the Professional Responsibility attorneys to try to dress up their argument that the "opinions" had various "indicia of authenticity."

But here's the problem. If Schwartz is telling the truth - if he was reading carefully and critically enough that he bothered to look up the judge (why would you do that if you didn't think the case might be fake?!) there is no way he could have missed that the case was gibberish. Again, if this is really what he said at the hearing, he either lied in the hearing, or he must have know the "opinions" were bogus when he gave them to LoDuca to file.

What? A promotional article, focused on the actor's personality, CV and projects.

When? At a particular moment in time, just after the SAG-AFTRA strike and before shooting OL's eighth and last season.

Where? Crucial to place it in LHR (to imply he is 'just visiting') and God forbid it would be in GLA, which (for some curious reasons) seems to be off-limits.

Why? An actor with solid credentials hopes to keep agents and employers interested, after above OL project is done, which is rather sooner than later. Also addressing (as per the actor's PR agent specific requirements) three particular issues: the Palestine letter, the Bond project and his 'private life'.

Onwards to the three issues at stake, which probably prompted the article. In chronological order, this time. A - AFFECTION

He's a little bit distant at first. I've mentioned this quite a few times before, but he doesn't think he deserves affection, so he's a little reluctant to give it as well. Once he opens up, he mainly shows it through quality time - really enjoys when you're both in the same room, doing different things but still in each other's company.

B - BEST FRIEND

He's surprisingly considerate as a best friend, always hyper aware of your needs and doing his best to make sure you're comfortable. Just a gentle giant.

C - CUDDLES Normally the big spoon. He's super warm, almost like a "human" furnace, so he's great to cuddle with on colder days.

D - DOMESTIC

He's basically a malewife. Yes he does the cooking, yes he does the cleaning. Likes to keep his space tidy and is a super good cook (you don't wanna know where the meat came from, though).

E - ENDING

When breaking up with someone, he goes directly to the point - no beating around the bush. It's most likely because of something they did or his "villain complex", as I like to call it, where he believes he doesn't deserve love due to being a horrible person.

F - FIANCE(E)

He really wanted to get married before the cult sacrifice thing. His desire didn't change much after, but now he has some issues to work through before possibly making it happen.

G - GENTLE

Again, he's a big softie. Handles you like you're made out of porcelain, scared that the slightest of touches from him might hurt you. Emotionally, he's not too different - always thinks twice before talking, aware as to not hurt anyone's feelings.

H - HUGS

A little reluctant to give them at first, but once he does, he's gentle and warm. He's super tall, so normally your head is resting on his chest. Makes you want to not let go.

I - I LOVE YOU

My god, it takes him forever to say it. Once he does, it's barely above a whisper, almost like he's hoping you won't hear him as he doesn't want to be too forward or make you uncomfortable.

J - JEALOUSY

Doesn't get jealous easily. He trusts you, so he sees no reason for it. Even when he does, he normally keeps quiet about it, accidently giving you the silent treatment.

K - KISSES

Super gentle. He has fangs and tusks and such, so he knows he has to watch out as to not hurt you with them. Likes kissing your hand the most, especially if you're cupping his face, giving him easy access to your palm.

L - LITTLE ONES

Has a soft spot for kids. Sally absolutely adores him and it's mutual - he's just so caring with them in general. Wanted to have some of his own, but given his circumstances, he realizes it might not be the best idea.

M - MORNING

He wakes up early and ready to go. Definitely the type to bring you breakfast in bed, especially if you're not much of a morning bird.

N - NIGHT

Even though he doesn't actually need much sleep due to not being human, he goes to sleep pretty early. The type to cling to you in his sleep.

O - OPEN 

Takes a long, long while for him to open up about his past. One, because he doesn't like to talk about it, and two, because he doesn't see it as relevant to your relationship. Once you start growing closer, though, he realizes he can't exactly run from it for long.

P - PATIENCE

Absolutely the most patient out of all the creeps. You have to do something seriously fucked up to get him to be even slightly pissed off.

Q - QUIZZES

Remembers pretty much everything you tell him, almost like he wrote it down or something. You'll be chilling and he'll just bring you your favorite snack from your childhood cause he saw it and thought about you.

R - REMEMBER

His favorite moment is when he realized you loved him as well. Might be before you even started dating or months into the relationship - the moment you do something that makes it click for him that he's a actually, genuinely loved is his favorite.

S - SECURITY

Extremely protective, more so due to instinct than anything else. He's not possessive, he just worries about you.

T - TRY

Doesn't really do fancy dates or gifts - thinks that just getting to spend time together is enough.

U - UGLY

Unless you don't count the occasional cannibalism, he doesn't really have any bad habits.

V - VANITY

Doesn't exactly care about his appearance, per se, but refuses to take off his mask most of the time. Not because he thinks he's ugly, but because he doesn't look exactly human and is self conscious about it.

W - WHOLE

He never really felt complete before meeting you, there was always a void in his heart he couldn't quite fill until you came along.

I know you most likely already realized this, but I was just thinking about Aang as a father in LOK, and realized something. If Katara ended up with Zuko and eventually had children together, Zuko would likely end up being a better father than Aang. Aang never even met his parents, and only had instructors as parental figures. They're like parents but mostly just in the way that a school teacher would be. But Zuko understands what good parents and what bad parents look like because he knows what his own parents are like. His memories of Ursa and Iroh would be his guide to what you SHOULD do for a child, and Ozai is an example of what you should NOT do. Zuko doesn't have the pressure of repopulating firebenders because firebenders aren't virtually extinct, so there wouldn't be as much (if any) pressure to pay unfairly extra attention to one child over the other. Zuko knows what it's like to be neglected by a parent that's supposed to love because of something you can't control. Aang clearly doesn't, hence why he neglected Bumi and Kya II in the first place. Zuko also has experience with Azula, and would know to recognize any bad signs of sibling jealousy and/or hatred, and put an end to it because he knows what bad sibling dynamics look like.

I feel like he would also be a better husband to Katara. He's not as naive as Aang when it comes to marriage; Zuko has the experience of growing up with two married parents, and would know what not to do. Katara would relax better because the distribution over who watches the kids would be more fair, as Zuko would give them ALL attention. While Aang made Katara jealous from always being around the Air Acolytes (in the comics), I feel like Zuko would not give polite attention to women who are rude to Katara/flirting with him because in the show, Zuko knows exactly how hurtful it feels for a romantic partner to flirt with/give polite attention to people who are obviously pursuers. Imagine being in an alternate dimension where Zutara was the main endgame couple, and we get to see their parental dynamics in LoK. There would probably be a flashback of Katara getting worked up about one of their children, and Zuko would ease her into calming down because he sees a solution that she didn't.

Aang's issues are more than he doesn't know. He is selfish by nature. Selfish parents aren't good parents. I know this for a fact. It's an endless cycle of 'It's your fault' or 'what about how I feel' every time you try to say something. It's not fun, and it's damaging. I can totally see Aang using this behavior as a way to get what he wants. As far as him being naive... yes. He is very naive and doesn't take anything seriously.

Like the war, for instance. He was only there for the last year of it. He wasn't born into the war like Zuko, Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Suki. They aren't naive. They know what war is like. Toph is the same age as Aang, and she is much more mature than he is. He's got this idea that killing anyone is bad, but he is responsible for a lot of deaths. Honestly, he has a kill count from the Fire Nation attack on the NWT, and a lot of people overlook that for some reason. Actually, the show overlooks it because Aang is the Hero, and it's okay if he killed people. So, when all is said and done, all of the things that he does afterward is overlooked too. It's a huge writing flaw with the show. So how does this translate to him as a parent?

It makes him a hypocrite.

Plain and simple.

He's so focused on reviving the Air Nomads that he has little knowledge on what they actually believed. What we are given is a few Taoist, Hindu, and Buddhist proverbs to go off of. Then, it's completely disregarded (disrespected as well) for 'Love'. This 'Love' is actually deep infatuation fueled by jealousy and possessive behavior. Which is actually frowned upon by the three religions mentioned above. It is a 'poison' to the spirit. And disconnects you from being enlightened (I think that is what the proverbs/scriptures are eluding too, if I'm wrong, please do not hesitate to explain, I'm super interested in cultures and eastern religions) or granted a place in Heaven (or their version of it). Letting go of all earthly possessions is common place in most religions. Aang does not do this. But I digress.

So, while there is the Nature vs Nurture aspect of parenting... where Katara does most of the Nurturing because that is how her character is written post-war and LoK. Notice how is said Written. Written by two misogynistic men who stripped her of a lot of her characteristics from the original run of the show. This is the problem. And it's the same with Aang. I can't take him seriously because he doesn't take any of it seriously. Especially with his children. He's not a serious character. He acts like he's serious, but he never really left the 12 year old boy behind to mature. Probably because in his fictional relationship with Katara, she enables him to keep doing what he always does. Which is to not grow. Relationships grow sour when the two people in them do not grow. It's not really about who grew up with parents at that point because it's the current parents that are the ones that should be to blame.

Now on to Headcanon space...

Zutara is a Headcanon ship. Did it almost happen? Oh yes I believe it did because the writing supports it heavily and Bryke's actions post show also scream 'lairs'. Sorry, but I have a pretty good Bullshit metor and Bryke set it off big time by their immature behavior.

But I digress.

Zuko grew up with a Narcissistic Sociopath as a Father and a Mother who was caught in the middle of a choice she was essentially forced to make. Ursa was also forced to forget her own parents never existed after she married Ozai. This is all canon, by the way. Her life before her marriage was great, but then it was taken away so she had nothing left but her morals and beliefs. However, while she loved both of her children, her influence on Zuko is essentially what made him who he is. Ursa didn't get to influence Azula like she did Zuko. Why? Because of Ozai.

Ozai pit his children against each other. This was apparently a Fire Nation Royal Family tradition because it sounds like Azulon did this with Iroh and Ozai as well. This kind of parenting style is abusive to its core. What Ozai did to Zuko isn't neglect... it's straightforward abuse and control. How do you make a child do what you want? You hurt them, or you take something away from them. Ozai both hurt Zuko and took away his home by banishing him. If Zuko wants to go back home, he has to find and capture the Avatar. It's that simple, but at the same time, it's also near impossible.

Flash forward to Canon Zuko and we see he has one child and he is a very loving father. Actually, he's the best father in the show. His experiences with growing up as the not so favorite child has made his choice to have one child easy. Probably because he and his spouse had a less than perfect relationship. This also may have influenced him to be protective of Izumi (as we can see he's still protective over her even at 90 years old) because of the loveless relationship his parents had. It was enough to damage him deeply when it came to relationships. This is likely also why he had trouble with Mai as well.

Headcanon space now...

Zuko loving Katara is what makes the difference here. Love is giving your partner the freedom to make their own choices and support them. As long as there is good communication, trust, and honesty. Something Maiko does not have, by the way. So it stands to reason that even with Nature Vs Nurture in the way of parenting, both win here. I'll tell you why Zuko's relationship with his parents here have no effect on why he would choose to have more children with Katara.

Because if written well, it's a very good relationship between them. We already know they work well as a team. The show gives us this. We know that Zuko absolutely cares about Katara. The show also gives us that. We also know they become lifelong friends. So why do they make great parents?

Because they rely on each other.

It has nothing to do with how they were raised individually, but everything to do with how they support each other narritively. They trust each other to make good decisions together. They rely on being honest with each other. They also communicate with each other. This by itself is the building blocks for a healthy and stable relationship. With that in mind, parenting is easier. There is no need to be afraid of becoming a bad parent because they hold each other accountable. It's a deep relationship. Having multiple children is easier because it is a loving relationship. There's no conflict besides the silly little arguments over simple things that happen all the time. It's just an overall healthy dynamic.

And that is what appeals to Zutarians.

While it was almost canon, I'm glad it isn't because Bryke would definitely not get it right. They tried to make Korra and Mako happen out of spite because they believe Zutara is toxic. It's not. Their children would turn out absolutely fine because Zuko would not change a thing about Katara. It's in the show. He doesn't try to change her because that's not his job. His job in TSR is to let her find closure. He offers it to her because he cares about her. Bottom line.

Anyway, I probably forgot what you said at this point because I just tend to go on and on, but I tried my best to stay on topic... ADHD is both a blessing and a curse.

Villainous Headcanon: Miss Heed Unbearable Personality is like Kitten from Teen Titans

Out of all the cartoon characters, I imagine Miss Heed's personality to be like Kitten from Teen Titans from the "Date With Destiny" episode especially after Chapter 10 of The Risky Heist:

Both Miss Heed and Kitten have a spoilt and unbearable personality, their expressions are somewhat similar see images below), wear pink and have a pink esthetic (I kinda imagine Miss Heed having a pink limo like Kitten) and Miss Heed liking cats having a cat headband while the character's name is Kitten and sometimes pretentiously acts like one.

Her relationship with her father is also something like Kitten and Killer Moth! Mr Kelly. does love her daughter (why wouldn't he help clear her name and get out of rehab if he doesn't) however is an extremely busy with his work making him unable to give much attention to his daughter, causing him to overcompensate by giving her whatever she wants. (Like giving her a credit card without a limit at the age of seven)

This led her to become an extremely selfish, spoilt, and demanding brat, who wants to get everything that she wants without caring how others feel or how much it makes other people suffer to get it.

I kinda imagine her father caving into her unbearable requests as hero and her obsession of getting GoldHeart. (like the clip in the video below.

Miss Heed: If I'm going to be a popular heroine, I NEED a popular hero boyfriend too! AND YOUR GOING TO GET ONE FOR ME!

Mr. Kelly: Now, Cec-Heed, be reasonable! You don't seriously expect me to --

This is also why he hired an agent at the start for Miss Heed when she wanted to become a hero. So that he can focus even more on his work, have a more bearable medium to deal with his daughter's demanding requests, and is able to deal with his daughter's HORRIBLE TANTRUMS, and personally not deal with the monstrosity his daughter grew up to be as much as possible.

Flug mentions in his journal that she is quick to anger when things don't go her way and for as long as he knows her she wants to be the centre of attention and will do whatever it takes to get it. So I kinda imagine her to be like the scene in the video last 2 clips (above)

If that's the case she must be an utter unbearable NIGHTMARE of a friend and student for Flug and her schoolmates to deal with or just generally everyone around her.

No wonder she needs a perfume to make people like her ( 😂jk/)

This is why I theorised that GoldHeart has been avoiding Heed as much as possible and not interacting with her as much as possible, unless necessary. That's why you don't see him in any of Miss Heed's social media posts despite her crazy obsession. As he does not want to deal with her annoying and unbearable personality, despite the importance of Miss Heed's formula, that she stole from Flug, in his plan to end Villainy. 😂

And probably cringes every time he actually has to interact with her.

Also if he were to ever be forced to go on the date with Heed he would react the same way and have somewhat of the same facial expressions (below) like Robin being forced to go on a date with Kitten, having to deal with her, obsessive, pretentious, annoying and unbearable personality and also (shipper headanon) Flug would be Starfire, the one thst GoldHeart would rather go on a date with.

Unexpected

Pairing: Yandere bully Joseph x chubby reader

Trigger warnings: bullying (obviously), fat-shaming, sexism, abuse, misogyny.

Staring out the window, you watch as the autumn leaves part from the tree branches onto the ground. You tune out the monotone voice of your teacher, not seeing a need to listen to the lesson; It wouldn't be used later in life anyways. Your eyes drift away from the scenery outside the window to the medium-sized clock above the chalkboard. One-thirty, the period is nearly done.

Not wanting your time to be wasted by the teacher, you raise your hand. The teacher says your name, authorizing you to speak your mind, “Sir, class is almost over.”

The teacher looks surprised. He takes a peek at the clock, “ah, I guess you're right. Okay, class let's wrap up for today. I wouldn't want for us to be late for the assembly.”

You grimace at the mention of the assembly. Usually, you didn't mind assemblies, they lasted till the end of the day and you didn't have to do any work. However, this time was different. You weren't a fan of attending an assembly that idolized your tormentor.

Excpeallly when most of the school - if not all - knew about the bullying. Classmates encouraged the behavior and Teachers simply ignored the situation completely. Telling the principal wasn't going to solve anything due to the fact he was your bully’s uncle.

The bell rings, allowing the students to transition to their next class. “Class dismissed! Remember everyone; page thirty-four is due Monday. I will not accept it after Monday.” the class groans in unison.

The students already knew where to head. Most of the school had been excitedly waiting for this part of the day.

You sigh, following your classmates to exit the classroom. You walked through the halls, decorated head to toe with school pride.

It was no secret your high school thought highly of itself. Robert E. O. Speedwagon - also known for owning the Speedwagon foundation- built and maintained the high school since 1900. Hamon high school was the first school that didn't require money to attend, which is why so many students went to the school. The school also had the best food, teachers, and classes.

You loved Hamon high school at first, but now you felt dread every time you entered those school doors. Uncertain if Joseph was awaiting your arrival or not.

You never understood the reason randomly began to make your life a living hell. You had two theories; either Joseph decided to start for the fun of it or he still had a grudge against you because of your first interaction.

Twelve o'clock, lunchtime. You are your lunch on a bench underneath a large weeping willow. You read silently whilst enjoying the lunch you made yourself the night before. Out of the corner of your eye, you watched as the group of popular kids snicker and whisper to each other, glancing back at you. You could identify each one of them in the group.

The tall, built brunette was Joseph Joestar: a well-known obnoxious cheater Jock. The class clown that wastes everyone's time in class by goofing off to the point you're left with extra homework. The asshole that cheats on every woman he’s been in a relationship with. The guy who can't take anything seriously. The nephew of the owner of the school. Gym coach Lisa Lisa’s son. The boy every girl wants.

The tall, muscular sunflower blonde male Ceasar Zeppeli: a big-time playboy. The guy who has been in almost every girl’s pants. The man who has sex with you only to forget who you are the next day. The Italian foreign exchange student everyone in the school wants a taste of.

The most popular cheerleaders: Suzi Q, Alice, and Doris. You knew them well since Alice and Doris often made fun of you. Suzi Q on the other hand was nothing but an angel. You knew whatever they had planned, Suzi didn't agree with. Suzi would attempt to help you to her best ability so you didn't worry much.

You roll your eyes: You knew what they were planning. You watched as Joseph turned from the group and walked his way over to you.

Joseph stood in front of you, hands in his varsity jacket, a smirk present on his lip. “You’re y/n, right?” he takes one hand out of his jacket pocket to point at you.

“Yes, can I help you?” you ask, eyes not shifting from the page of the book.

“It's rather rude of you not to give me your full attention.” crossing his arms, Joseph pouts akin to a petulant child. “Don't you have any manners?”

Closing the book, you stared back into Joseph's eyes. “I could ask the same. I know you’re just here to mess with me.”

Joseph positions a hand on his chest in an offended manner, “What makes you think I'd do such a thing to you? You have no reason to believe I've come here to mess with you.”

You had numerous reasons actually.

“You’re right, I'm sorry. What did you come here to ask me?”

“Go on a date with me.” Joseph’s lips curled into a grin, a glint of mischief in his eyes. “My treat.”

You were never the type to lose your temper on a stranger, yet, you felt your patience wearing thin at a quick pace; to the point, that you could hit Joseph.

“You think I'm that dumb I'd fall for a dumb prank?” irritation caused shaking your voice. Joseph seemed amused by your anger, his smile never falling but instead growing. “You don't think I haven't heard you making fun of big-sized girls? Or I haven't seen you publicly humiliate girls my size and laugh in their faces after telling them it was all a joke. Well, you won't be laughing in my face or humiliating me.”

You stood up and grabbed your book. Glancing at the group behind Joseph, they seemed dumbfounded to see Joseph getting told off. You were positive they’ve never seen anyone talk to Joseph this way besides Caesar. Your gaze is back to the giant man towering over your form. Joseph isn't fazed by your anger one bit, staring at you with a blank, unreadable, expression.

Though you were absolutely terrified of the tall man in front of you, you swallowed your fear and proceeded with your rant. “I don't understand what girls see in you, your nothing but a dickhead.”

From what you remembered, you walked away leaving Joseph by himself. The rest of the day went on like normal and you had simply forgotten about the whole ordeal. Joseph would take it upon himself to remind you the next day.

Perhaps you wounded his pride. Joseph must have been embarrassed to be rejected by someone whom he considers to be unattractive. It was the only motive you could come up with. You became Joseph’s main target after the exchange, which confirmed your theory.

Your musing was interrupted by the sound of the intercom. “All Students report to the gymnasium. I repeat, all students report to the gymnasium.”

Students talked loudly throughout the hallways as they made their way to the gymnasium. You separated from the crowd, striding towards the women’s restroom. You quickly open the bathroom door and enter before anyone could identify you. The last thing you needed was someone ratting you out to Joseph.

You saunter over to the bathroom mirrors, listening to the students bickering slowly disappearing down the halls. All students and teachers should be at the gymnasium, leaving you by yourself. You gazed into the mirror, taking in your appearance. You huffed in annoyance, disgusted at the way you looked.

Today you decided to wear one of the ugliest red dresses you owned. You hated wearing these clothes, then again you didn't want another one of your favorite dresses being ruined by Joseph.

You remember the last time you wore one of your prettiest dresses to school. The dress was rose pink, with three black buttons on the front, white frills on the bottom, and a black bow wrapped around the midsection. You adored that dress. Unfortunately, Joseph didn't seem to like you being happy. On picture day -when you decide it would be a perfect idea to wear the dress-, Joseph dumped milk on your head, not only ruining your dress but your hair and makeup as well.

You had to wait a month and a half to retake your picture.

You wanted nothing more than to smack Joseph silly, but you stopped yourself from doing so. You weren't sure if Joseph would hit you back or not. And you weren't going to take that chance.

The abrupt sound of heavy footfalls inching closer to the bathroom door startles you. Your eyes dart to the door. A shadow grows bigger and bigger as it comes closer to the bathroom door. You feel your heart beating in your throat, palms coming to be sweaty in a matter of minutes. If the staff found out you skipped the assembly, they’d punish you terribly. You just prayed it wasn't Coach Lisa Lisa. She was the worst when it came to punishments.

Instinctively, you rushed to the last bathroom stall. Once inside you locked the door, then quickly hopped onto the closed toilet lid with your knees to your chest.

You close your eyes idly. You heard the door click open, whining as it opened. You hold two hands against your lips and nose, silencing your anxiety. You feel your heart hammering In your chest when the door shuts close.

The hefty footsteps moving into the bathroom sounded too heavy to be a female’s.

“Oh, piggy! I know you’re in here. Why not come out, I want to see you,” A boyish male voice calls out. Your eyes widen, and the feeling of overwhelming dread grows in the pit of your stomach.

You stayed in place, other than hugging yourself tighter you did not move one muscle.

Joseph is amused by your disobedience. You can tell he knows where you’re hiding, he only wants to play with you. “I see what you’re trying to do, Y/n. Playing hide and seek, are we? Well, I guess I'll play along.”

Joseph approaches the door to the first stall and slams it open with a loud whack. You flinch. The force of impact is strong enough to send vibrations to the other stalls.

“Here!? No.”

He repeats with the second door, getting closer.

“What about here?! Not here either.”

Again, he repeats his last action on the third stall door.

“I feel like I'm getting closer!”Joseph announces in amusement.”

Joseph stands in front of your stall, his sneakers facing you. Before he tries to slam the door open, you weakly announce your presence, voice shaking with trepidation, “I'm here. If you back away I promise I'll come out.” Joseph takes his sweet time backing away, creating enough space where you felt comfortable stepping out.

You unhurriedly stand on your feet, the toilet lid speaking beneath you. Before you get any closer to the door, you peer through the crack of the stall door. Joseph is staring at you, waiting for you to open the door.

You deliberately unlock the door, sliding the lock ever so slowly. You take a shaky breath, pondering what Joseph planned to do with you. Pushing the door open, you exit the stal. Joseph watches you like a lion watching its prey. Joseph’s eyes are unmoving, a smirk appearing on his lips. ”I was worried you didn't come to school today. It's always so boring when I can't have my fun with you.”

You grit your teeth. “Why do you have to be such a dick all the time, Joseph?” you snap.

“Because your reactions always amuse me. Fat girls like you are always so easy to messy with; one negative comment on your weight and you're crying me a river. Its pathetic really.”

You’ve never cried in front of Joseph. Once or twice you went to the bathroom to cry if what he had said was that hurtful.

You scoff, “You have never heard me cry because of your dumb words.”

Joseph’s left eyebrow raises, “Oh really?” he chuckles, “You’re lying. I've followed you numerous times and I've eavesdropped on you balling your eyes out in the bathroom. Try again, sweetheart.”

Feed up with Joseph, you attempted to run past him in an endeavor to escape. Joseph simply grabbed you by the waist and pulled you back, laughing as you squirmed in his hold. When all attempts of leaving his grasp turned futile, you began to sob tears of anger. “What the fuck do you want from me, Joseph? So what I hurt your pride by rejecting you, that doesn't mean you abuse me for it!”

“It's so much more than that.”

“I don't care what the other reason is! I can't wait until next month so I won't have to deal with your bullshit anymore!”

Joseph grabs your body and positions it to where you can see each other. His face is full of confusion, “what are talking about? Joseph asked incredulously.

You smile wickedly, for once Joseph hasn't guessed your next line. “I’ll be moving next month. I can finally start over again. I’ll have a new reputation, new friends, and hell maybe ill even score a boyfriend.”

Joseph’s puzzled expression unexpectedly shifts into one of fury. Joseph’s eyebrows scrunch, his lip forms into a scowl, and you can hear his breathing become unsteady. Joseph shoves you into the bathroom wall. Full-on sobbing in pain from the result of hitting the wall; you held your head in your hands, the intolerable pain could only be described as a headache but ten times worse. You leaned against the wall for support, eyeing Joseph with bleary eyes as he started to walk towards you.

Joseph pointed his index finger at you as he spoke, “You better learn to love me back. you know why? Because nobody else will ever love you- so you’re stuck with me.” Joseph fumed. Joseph crouches to your level, glaring down at you.

“What?” you whimpered in puzzlement.

“You want to know the reason I target you so much, Y/n? It’s because I want you all to myself and it irritates me. Truth is, I find girls like you sexy. Of course, I'd never say it out loud.” He let out a short-lived laugh before continuing.

“I enjoy your curves, your chubby cheeks, and God don't even get me started on your thighs. But most importantly, Y/n, I've always been interested in you. Ever since eighth grade. I would be damned if I allowed you to date a man who isn't myself.”

Joseph dips his head down to where he can whisper in your ear. “No matter where you run off to, I will always find you. I won't stop until you are mine, Y/n L/n”

No joke, I think dungeon meshi has seriously impacted my desire to be healthy for the better. A very long and heartfelt (but spoiler free) essay is under the cut.

I have Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. Because of my OCD, some foods are safe and some are not and I would literally rather starve than eat an unsafe food (i know because it happened once on a trip to Switzerland). This means I mostly eat chicken nuggets, buttered noodles, donuts, soda, the like. The only vegetable I can eat is cooked broccoli and the only fruit I can eat is apples (smoothies not withstanding).

I'm also physically disabled in a way that makes it hard for me to exercise or do physical activity, not to mention how my ADHD and Depression fuck with that as well. I'm 'lucky'* in that I have a genetic disposition towards being very thin and probably will stay that way until I'm in my 40s (my dad was exactly the same at my age).

So I eat mostly junk food and I sit at my computer all day every day and for a long time, I've been happy with that. When I tell people about my Eating Disorder, they usually say "oh, is there a way to fix it?" and my answer is always "why would I want to?" Its not like an allergy or a medical dietary restriction. I don't LIKE any of the foods I can't eat. I don't have any reason to want to learn how to eat them.

Besides health reasons of course. I know in my head that not eating any vegetables isn't good for me but I also know that I don't really want to eat them and, for most of my adulthood, I've lived with the mindset that I think a lot of people my age have where they hear so many people say 'just eat well and exercise!' as a solution to every problem and so they tend to hate the idea of doing that. The health industry is full of too many people who are fatphobic assholes or who think a green smoothie can cure your depression for good or who just want your money or whatever and I hate that. And so I've kind of felt above exercise and nutrition.

But then I read Dungeon Meshi.

Even in the beginning, the manga was super inspiring. The way Senshi talks about taking care of your body so you can go on adventures makes it sound like something I might want to do. So much of today's health advice is shame based and, as someone who grew up in and left a high demand control group, I work hard not to tolerate shame in my life. But Dungeon Meshi posits a new view of health and nutrition, one that is centered in love for the self, love for your friends, and love for your food. It resonated with me in a way that I really wasn't expecting it to.

Over the last few years, I've been working really hard to become a compassionate person. This year, my new goal is learning to turn that compassion inward and I've been trying to do that in several different ways. When I finished reading Dungeon Meshi I knew that one of those ways was going to have to be improving my diet and exercise.

I want to be able to go on adventures (as tame and simple as they may be). I want to live as long as possible to spend time with my loved ones. I want to be able to walk around and exist without pain for as much of that time as I can. I want to love my body and act accordingly, making sure it is well fed and cared for. Hell, I've always loved the idea of cooking but haven't had the energy to really learn, especially since I can't eat most foods, but now the idea of taking the time to cultivate a skill like that, one that I can be proud of and that can be used to care for my friends, fills me with a sense of hope and excitement.

So thank you Dungeon Meshi, and thank you Ryoko Kui. If you haven't read the manga, I highly recommend that you do.

*by lucky I mean that my diet hasn't forced me to deal with the stigma that comes with being fat. I have no idea what kinds of problems it's been causing that I just can't see. I am not saying that it would be bad if I were fat, just that not being thin would mean I faced a lot more stigma and discrimination in my life, which is bad.

headcanons about peculiar habits formed out of love

characters: jade, jax briggs, shang tsung, skarlet, tanya

Jade will gossip with you. She takes her job extremely seriously and tends to distance herself from unprofessional things, so even the way she interacts in casual settings can feel uptight. Though she claims she has no vested interest in gossip, she always seems to know the juiciest things. Being in touch with court intrigue is just another duty of protecting Kitana, so she always has an ear to the floor. Technically, since they're palace secrets, telling them to an outsider is unthinkable and borderline treasonous... But if you press her, it's rather easy. She has her own opinions, even if she pretends to be above it all, so once you break the dam, you'll get the entire flood. Being able to confide in someone without courtly pretences is a treat to her, so she actually looks forward to you asking her about it.

Jax won't smoke around you if you aren't a smoker. He doesn't quit smoking, but the only time you will see his lighter is during camping trips. His clothes still smell of smoke, but if you spend the entire day with him, you're more likely to learn what kind of laundry detergent he uses. He doesn't want you to be stuck inhaling his secondhand smoke because he knows that it is objectively bad for people, so even if you say it's alright, he will probably abstain. If you are a smoker, he may have casual banter with you over your respective brand picks. Still, he won't knock it until he tries it, so you may end up swapping cigs one day. Though it's his biggest vice, he will unquestionably kick it if you ask him to. And if you're both smokers, he will try to keep both of you accountable and responsible with intake.

Shang Tsung will never treat you like a glass doll, but he will micromanage your health. Unless he takes care of things with his own hands, he won't feel satisfied that everything is in order. In some ways, it's a blessing. But depending on your tolerance for unconventional treatment, it can be a bit of a curse. The good news is that you could be sliced down the middle and thrown into a pool of acid and still live to see the next day. The bad news is that, if he cannot prevent your death, he will rouse you from your eternal slumber. The words "favourite person" may not seem to mean much from him, but the key term is "person," as opposed to "subject" or "pawn." A person may be physically cloned, but Shang Tsung knows better than anybody that clones are not the same person.

Skarlet will take the blood from your wounds like a keepsake. Though it might make you uneasy, she doesn't have any ill will. In her mind, it is the same as keeping a photo of you in a locket. No matter the severity of the injury, Skarlet can keep you from bleeding out, so you could joke with her that she's taking a blood tax for her services. Depending on the situation, she might even crack a smile! It is hard for her to explain why she takes your blood when she doesn't really need it for anything, but just be assured that she could distinguish your blood from anybody else's. Even if yours was a single drop in a bloody ocean. That attachment is, in its own morbid way, the red string that she's tied between the both of you.

Tanya will just lie on your behalf. You don't want to go to a meeting? You can't because your ceiling caved and you had to stay home all day to deal with the issue. Someone is giving you unwanted attention? Better luck next time because Tanya will make up a list of reasons about why that person shouldn't try to approach you anymore long enough to be a legal document. It would be nice if she let you know ahead of time, but she will set a wedge between you and your petty inconveniences as soon as she hears about them. You can fight your own battles, but if she doesn't think it's worth your time, she will swiftly sweep and smother them under a rug. If it is something that has been causing you a lot of duress, she might go the extra mile of stomping on that spot as you walk along your merry way.

the post about the characters' in universe attractiveness got me curious about something kind of similar; what about the characters' in universe physical strength? the only character that i can think of to have their physical strength actually stated is honami, due to her having muscles from drumming. i believe akito is also stated to be pretty strong? though i can't really remember. and emu has always read to me to be one of the more physically strong characters due to her various stunts where she Jumps From High Places And Is Perfectly Fine. toya, meanwhile, is stated to be one of the weaker characters i believe.

these are the only few that come to mind for me right now but there are probably more that i can't remember right now

You'd be right about Akito. In fact, he is depicted as unnaturally strong, though I'll give a free pass for the fact it's meant to be part of a funny scene.

He's carrying Tsukasa while running a reasonable distance at a high speed. Akito is very athletic and plays a lot of sports, but Tsukasa also has dance training and does stunts so presumably has a reasonable amount of muscle mass on top of being around average weight (he is a big eater as well but he seems to burn a lot of it on excercise so how much his appetite adds to his weight is debatable). I won't bother you with all the physics and sports science to keep this concise but there is a lot of force being exerted onto Akito's knees in this card, and this would genuinely be impossible to accomplish in real life.

Rui is pretty strong. He carries heavy machinery around constantly, and carries a shitload of stuff with him camping in Exciting Picnic, including a weighted training device that Nene struggles to use but he carries about with a whole backpack full of other things no problem. In Island Panic, he carries Tsukasa who already has Emu on his shoulders and Nene on hers, in order to reach some bananas. He ended up taking most of the weight since Tsukasa started to sneeze. In his card story from Pandemonium he also packs way to much stuff in his bag but says that it wouldn't be a struggle to carry. He's probably where Wonderland SEKAI MEIKO gets her strength from.

Adding to that, Emu is pretty strong. She carries Nene on her shoulders in Island Panic as I just mentioned, and she does loads of sports clubs such as gymnastics and swimming, so her overall strength is probably pretty good.

As I mentioned, Tsukasa is probably pretty strong, since he does a lot of training and stunts and was able to lift both Emu and Nene in Island Panic. That said, there is this area conversation:

hopefully this is readable, I just screenshot it out my drafts because it's been sitting there in case it ever came in handy. So he might not be that strong? The Island Panic scene is more played for comedy so it may be exaggerating how strong he actually is. At the very least it seems like he has weaker core strength. Though as mentioned, he does do a lot of stunts and already had dance and stage training prior to WxS, so he's probably still above average.

also I want to point out what Rui says in the 5th panel is like. kinda bullshit. not entirely but. kinda. bodybuilding is more for aesthetics and while building muscle = building strength it only works to a certain extent with bodybuilding and if you want to work on strength actual strength training is far more practical. it's a joke i know it's a joke and i shouldn't take it this seriously.

we can assume mafuyu is pretty strong because she's good at everything and is stated to be pretty athletic. not the most reliable claim but the game does like to bring up the fact that she's good at everything. she also does archery which requires a lot of upper body strength.

kanade is not strong at all but that should be self-explanatory.

toya isn't that strong either i don't think. more specifically he's not very athletic but these two things tend to cross over a bit (Kamiyama Sports Fes shows he's terrible at throwing things). he probably has pretty good stamina though.

haruka does weight training you can spot some weights in her room. you can also spot some smaller weights in airi and shizuku's rooms. Makes sense because you need to have good fitness for idol work. Shizuku also does archery with Mafuyu so her upper body strength is pretty good.

It's been about 6 months since Dream went into a coma. Karl visited him three or four times a week, since he missed him very much and was very worried about him.

One of those days, Dream finally woke up from his coma, which pleased Karl and clearly Sapnap and Quackity. They were really relieved that he was able to wake up from the coma.

Due to health and safety reasons, Dream had to be hospitalized for another two months, which was fine with Karl as he was quite concerned about his roommate's condition.

During that time, Dream slowly began to be able to speak normally. It took him quite a while to do so, but with the effort, he was able to speak again without stuttering. In the end, he was allowed to leave the hospital, back home with Karl.

Dream walked out the door, heading towards the port. “Dream! Where are you going??" Karl asked as he quickly approached his friend. Dream let out a long breath, looking at him with a pout.

"Come on... I'm just going for a walk, you don't have to worry so much about me..." "Dream... You've been in a coma for six months, almost seven, plus two months of rehabilitation" He replied seriously while crossing his arms.

Dream let out another slightly annoyed sigh. “Karl, come on, I can't be locked up all the time. I'm just going to take a walk for three hours and come back, okay? Nothing bad will happen to me…”

Karl looked at Dream for a few seconds before sighing in defeat. "Okay, but if you haven't come back in three hours, I'm going to ask Sapnap and Quackity to find you and you won't come out for two weeks."

Dream thought about it for a moment before nodding. “Okay, deal. See you in three hours." he said before turning around and continuing on his way towards the port. Once there, he got on a small boat and headed out for a few miles into the ocean.

An hour passed and it seemed to Dream that he had gone far enough, so he stopped the boat. Not even five minutes passed when the sea began to move a little more violently.

‘Okay, maybe I should have listened to Karl…’ Dream stumbled backwards as a wave crashed into the boat. The sea was getting even more dangerous by seconds.

Much larger waves began to appear and crash against the boat. Dream tried to hold on to something but then, an unbelievably huge wave hit the boat, causing him to slip, hit his head on the ground and knock him unconscious.

Although before falling unconscious he could kinda see something light blue and gold, his sight eventually turning completely black.

Punz had only thought of taking a long swim by the sea, what he did not expect was to find a small boat being hit and pushed by the waves. With a sigh he approached the surface, sticking his head above the waves, watching the boat for a moment.

He narrowed his eyes, leaning a little closer, wanting to take a closer look. His eyes widened as they took in the only person in it.

The person was unconscious, which worried him a lot since the boy could die because of the state the sea was in.

Letting out another sigh, he picked up the boy in his hands and slowly introduced him into his mouth,swallowing him slowly and gently, since he didn't want to hurt him, or at least, less than what would have happened to him before he arrived.

Once he was sure the human was in his storage, he dove back in, swimming for the nearest shoreline.

Before he could move too far, a blue shark hybrid and a killer whale hybrid stopped him off, the shark grabbing him by the neck. “Where the fuck is Dream?! What the hell have you done to him!?” he said in a furious voice, baring his sharp teeth at her in a snarl.

Punz got nervous, who was Dream? Was he talking about the human he had found a few seconds ago? The shark grew impatient at his lack of response, tightening its grip on his neck a little more.

"Well?! Are you going to answer me!?" The other mer stepped in, trying to calm him down. "Sapnap please, calm down, you won't get anything like this..." Sapnap looked at his partner for a moment before letting out a sigh and letting go of Punz's neck. "Okay... Now, talk"

Punz looked at him a little bit nervous. “Uh.. That Dream.., has dirty blond hair and is wearing a green shirt...? Uh, if it's him... I found him unconscious so I decided to store him to keep him safe...”

Sapnap sighed at that. "Okay... I can tell you're not lying, but I don't trust you, understand?" he told him in a serious tone.

Punz nodded, flinching as a hand landed on his shoulder. “Calm down kid, he's just a little upset, it's alright, okay? Spend some time with us and you will see that he gets used to you.” Punz nodded again. "And what about you..?"

The orca gave a small giggle. "Me? don't worry about me, I do trust you, usually whale shark hybrids are really honest, besides you looked too nervous to lie, I think you're not good at that." "I guess..." The orca pulled him a little closer while drawing Sapnap's attention.

“Why don't we talk a bit on the way and get to know each other a bit?” He commented looking at both of them. Sapnap just shrugged, not really caring for the idea.

"Okay then, my name is Quackity and this is my fiancé, Sapnap." He says pointing at the shark. “My name is Punz…”

Hi! I saw your post about due South and gender, and I'm so interested in what you had to say, and it definitely got me thinking, and I'm so sorry for the wall of text.

I'm most interested in Fraser's experience of gender, because imo he's a character archetype that female characters aren't often portrayed as (knight errant, duty and responsibility as a mask for real feelings and decisions, etc). Like, Fraser's loneliness and sense of alienation even from other RCMP- Were there many other women in her trainee class? Did male colleagues feel threatened by a stubborn, intelligent, and near-supernaturally talented woman, and if so, how was that expressed? How would Thatcher and Fraser's relationship change? Would Bob Fraser have been supportive of his daughter being a Mountie, or would there always be a sense of comparing her to a son that didn't even exist, however unintentionally?

Even things like Fraser's apartment in seasons 1 and 2. How would Ray V (of any gender really), react to a single woman in a strange city (even a single woman with a half-wolf and enormous capacity to take care of herself) insisting on living in a terrible apartment in a bad part of town? Fraser would have bewildered, infuriated, and endeared herself to Ray V from day 1, and it could be interesting to see how Ray V's notions about women change when he's presented with Fraser's complete inability to be anyone but herself.

I already love the "Victoria's" secret arc, and I think it could be just as compelling with a queer element entangled with Fraser's loneliness,not to mention potentially having to hide the real nature of her relationship with Victoria for a number of reasons.

Again, I apologize for the rambling, and I would love to hear any other thoughts you have on the Rays and Fraser and gender.

I always pictured Fraser as a woman trying desperately to even be acknowledged by her father or her peers. You know, it's always brought up by Bob and everyone who knows him how she's just like her father - except she's a woman. Like her being a woman downplays all of her achievements (I recall Thatcher mentioning this in the show). Marginalized groups so often get thrust into a position where they can't be anything less than perfect, and I think in Fraser's case that would be taken to the max. Like, you want your dad to notice you because even if you did everything right he still won't take you camping since you're a girl. You go above and beyond expectations in your class, and no one takes you seriously because most people are objectifying you. (Oh, and don't get me started on how Fraser still faces sexual harassment but now it'd be from men. Oof.) I can see Fraser really upsetting the men at the police station/RCMP because of her solve-rate. Like, can you imagine a bunch of male cops, in the 90s, getting out shined by a lady? They'd have a fit over that. Dewey specifically comes to mind when he said he could beat Lady Shoes in poker because she's a woman. But I also think Fraser would keep that 'innocent mountie' shtick to protect herself, though she's not above using sexism to her advantage (I'm thinking Ms Fraser going 'you wouldn't hit a woman would you'). At the end of the day, Fraser is still very much JUSTICE and the COMMON GOOD above all else, even ignoring her inner yearning to have recognition for her achievements (and yes, love, Fraser would still be incredibly lonely). I think that gives the conversation in the Vault a different weight. And Fraser would absolutely do hair flips.

Okay, so I think if we go with Vecchio being a woman rather than a man, their relationship would have this envy about it. Since Fraser literally acts like she gives zero fucks about doing anything (she lives in an apartment in a sketchy place by herself, ignores the jabs of male coworkers, etc.), I feel like Vecchio would want what she has and be even more annoyed when Fraser gets all the attention in Red, White, or Blue since she'd be undermined and harassed as a female cop in Chicago. God, we all know that Vecchio isn't the best at his job, but instead of being seen as a buffoon can you imagine how they'd berate her as a woman? How she'd have to represent her entire gender, especially coming from a traditional Italian family? Not to mention if we switch it so she's the sole/eldest daughter in the Vecchio family, the societal pressure of that is immaculate. Though, I do imagine her to keep Vecchio being the most emotionally mature (or at least expressive) out of the three leads. She'd be wanting to talk about stuff and Fraser'd be throwing herself out windows more than ever.

Now, Kowalski, oh boy. In the my head she's not changing anything about her style - this woman is 100% butch. Personally, I read canon Kowalski as someone who got bullied in school (I mean, in the 70s he had glasses, had a best friend that was a girl, small, had less money than his peers, and has shit self-esteem. I can't see that he wasn't bullied) and he created this super tough 'loose cannon' persona to fight back (I also read Fraser and Kowalski as definitely queer, with Vecchio being a more grey area but anyways that would make sense for Kowalski's overly butch persona as well). Kowalski as a woman is no different, but now you got an extra layer to that because women aren't taken seriously in law enforcement. A guy calls her 'sweetheart', dude you better fucking run. Guys probably tell her to smile and she punches their teeth out. She's still a whirlwind of emotions but now she isn't seen as 'scary' because she's a woman. And as a butch woman, she's probably seen as a 'freak' and bullied at her job. Probably also a factor to why she goes undercover so much, at least she can get away from the people at the precinct more. And I would switch her name to Stella Rachel Kawolski and her husband Stanley Kowalski (because I think that'd be even weirder for a dad to name his daughter that???).

Now a f/f Victoria/Fraser has some terrible implications into stereotypes of lesbian relationships. You know, the 'Mean Lesbian' as it were, and maybe that would reinforce Fraser's not only fear of love, but her fear of queerness. So, I think Kowalski coming along and being openly gender nonconforming and developing a friendship/relationship with her would be incredibly healing for Fraser. I also feel like Fraser would still be drawn to Kowalski's vulnerability since she was taught never to show emotion other than happiness as a woman. And she's be drawn to Vecchio for not being afraid to complain constantly. When that woman is mildly inconvenienced, she'll let you know. And I think both Rays would really be enamoured by Fraser by all the same qualities in canon, but even more so as she demonstrates you can be badass and a kind person (something hollywood really needs to learn with their female characters already).

I see Fraser and Thatcher at first having a competitive relationship but one sided on Thatcher's part (internalized misogyny) but then in We are the Eggmen she realizes how stupid that is and they have a healthy working relationship :)

Usually you see Zoro being pictured as either a sex machine or as aromantic/ace, and literally never anything in between, and I personally believe that either of these takes is true. It's a manga of the shonen genre and follows the respective, genre-based rules. My interpretation of the character is that he undoubtedly puts his goal(s) on top of everything else. Luffy gets to become the pirate king. Zoro himself is going to be the world's strongest swordsman. Period. BUT. These ambitions go hand in hand with a sacrifice, at least to Zoro. This is going to be a long read and I have to digress a bit so please be patient lol.

Zoro has lost the person most important to him and there was nothing he could do to prevent it. He couldn't protect Kuina. Now, we don't know his own knowledge of his parents, but I always assumed that his desire to become stronger and stronger is a direct result of the loss of his parents, something he witnessed, but couldn't do anything about it either. So he chose to follow his father's footsteps and became a swordsman, trained in Koushiro's dojo, driven by anxiety. He made friends with Kuina who died too. And then he swore to himself that never again he would anyone ever become close to him. He traveled alone and at first and kept his distance to Luffy, Nami and the others.

But there's no way to fight human nature. Slowly, he allowed himself and them to get closer and he found it comfortable to be around them, but accepting that they're his friends also multiplies his anxiety and ultimate weakness: losing someone again. He not only wants to become stronger to be the WGS, he also thinks it's the only way to protect his loved ones. When he struggles with an opponent, he can be seen training even harder afterwards. He takes the night's watch. He guards the ship. He only sleeps when someone else is awake. He tells the others to escape when it's dangerous. He tries to take incoming damage alone. He refuses that anyone sacrifices themselves and knocks them out should they try (Sanji @ Thriller Bark). He keeps things a secret. He holds back emotions to remain collected and supportive. The further along they travel, the more of his humanity he has to lose in order to keep them all safe.

Back to the original intention of this post. Zoro has kind of a soft spot for women who need help with something. They just trigger his protective instinct. But he also tries to keep away from any woman because they'd weaken him. And he can't afford to be weak. A woman by his side would mean he'd have to look after her, provide for her, protect her, make sure she's alright, take better care of himself in order to be there for her, all things he simply can't afford and which distract him from his goal (he would think that way, being a bit traditional). Maybe he doesn't trust himself to remain as determined as he was once he's in a relationship. Maybe he's afraid that his partner would try to talk him out of his goal and stand in his way. Which leads me to think how a woman has to be in order to be a good match for him?

We've covered that a woman often triggers his protective sense, I'm not sure though if that is what he finds an important trait. I like to imagine that a woman he'd be interested in has to be similar to himself - independent, strong, able to defend herself, not afraid to put him in his place, self-confident and courageous and most importantly be supportive and understand how he rolls. He wouldn't have to worry about her as much then (he'd still be worried though of course lol). So yeah, ZoTash all the way!

However, even if they'd fall in love during the series, he'd not give in to his feelings before he would have reached his goals, due to the above mentioned reasons. He'd ask her to wait or he wouldn't open up to her until he's the WGS, and then reunite with her and be like "Hey sorry you had to wait" and you know how loyal he is, he'd stay with her until the end of his days. And I think that's another reason why he's not dating a woman - he wants to make sure that she's THE ONE. He's not interested in an affair or something not serious. He's there for the long run. He doesn't give away his heart so easy. He could even play hard to get, to check if his love interest really means it. He wants to protect himself from heartbreak and loss, afraid to experience it ever again.

He wouldn't be a perfect lover, but try hard to be the best version of himself.
