WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?
Learning karate was a lot different then you expected it to be.
Mr. Larusso—Sensei Larusso—was nice and super patient with you for someone who barely knew what they were doing. He also seemed entirely too giddy at the thought of you being a new student and could barely contain his excitement the first day you walked into his dojo.
Robby and Sam had been off on their own training, which you guess made sense given that they were a lot more skilled and proficient in the art then you were. It still felt odd.
Because instead of actual training, you were doing chores. Well, they’d seemed like chores at first but it became clear pretty early on that it was a trick for the muscle memory aspect — the defence would pay off upon doing the movements repetitively.
Waxing the cars, sanding the deck, painting the house.
At first you’d been afraid it was some elaborate trick of Sam’s just to get you to do the chores she didn’t want you to do, or that Mr. Larusso needed help with—but you knew Sam and quickly deduced that that was as far fetched as it could get.
Besides, while it hurt your back and your arms were incredibly sore, doing the chores got your mind off of things. Provided a distraction. One you’d desperately needed, and in the scheme of things didn’t mind all that much.
Enough so that when you finished sanding the deck on your first day, a good two hours later, you’d all but skipped over to Mr. Larusso with a smile on your face. “Mr. Larusso,” you call out to him, eyes flickering briefly to Sam and Robby whose stood next to him. “I finished the deck.”
“Perfect timing, Y/N,” he grins, causing you to blink in response.
“What’s happening?” You ask, tilting your head in confusion.
Sam and Mr. Larusso eye each other briefly, before the latter turns to you; “we’re going on a trip.”
Turns out the trip meant heading to the beach house that Mr. Larusso and his family often frequented, the four of you piling into Mr. Larusso’s car—the ‘banana boat’ Sam dubbed it, which you were told was a gift from Mr. Miyagi, Mr. Larusso’s Sensei. Sam was sat up front with her father, while you and Robby were in the back.
You haven’t really gotten the chance to talk to Robby beyond your small, rather awkward chat at the Valley Festival. You weren’t really sure how to approach him given that he didn’t really seem to, well, like you all that much.
“I still don’t understand how going to the beach is gonna help us get students.”
“It’s not the students that I’m after,” Mr. Larusso answers Robby, briefly glancing over at the both of you. “It’s the parents.”
“So,” Sam speaks up, her brows furrowing in disbelief. “You’re counting on kids listening to their parents?”
You nod, “yeah. No offence, Mr. Larusso, but kids almost make it their goal not to listen to their parents.”
“No, no, I’m counting on parents doing whatever it takes to protect their kids.” He rebuttals, shaking his head. “Look, I’ve tried everything else to promote Miyagi-Do. If this doesn’t work… nothing will.”
Well, you can’t help but think, hopefully then it will.
-
Mr. Larusso told you to make yourself comfortable…
What did that even mean?
You’ve never been to a beach house, let alone such a fancy one and the bathing suit Sam had let you borrow was far beyond your level of comfort. You can’t remember the last time you’ve gone swimming or worn a swimsuit, especially in front of others.
Especially in front of a boy.
Even, really, a girl too.
Your outings with Eli and Demetri had consisted of the comic book shop, the arcade or a movie at one of your houses. This was different—far too different and you felt extremely out of your element.
You’d yet to meet up with Sam and Robby yet, it felt a lot more awkward when you were with the both of them. Sam and Robby were obviously friends, close ones at that, and yeah, you and Sam got along but it’s like every time you were within the vicinity of Robby, he looked like he’d rather be anywhere else.
At the very least, away from you.
How were you supposed to approach that? You’d been friends with only Eli and Demetri for as long as you had because you didn’t know how to talk to people.
But you also couldn’t hide forever.
Unfortunately.
So, steeling your nerves, you pull the sleeves of your shirt further down your arms, making your way over to where you saw Sam and Robby settle down. Only, as you make your way over, you only see Robby.
“Hey,” you call softly, ignoring the slight shake of your voice. Robby turns to you at the sound of your voice, faltering slightly when he realizes it’s you.
You ignore the look, taking a seat on the bench next to him. “Where’s Sam?”
“She went to talk with Aisha.”
Your lips form an ‘o’, nodding to yourself as you shuffle back on the bench, trying to get comfortable. You can’t help but briefly glance to your left, at Robby, and hope that he’ll say something else. Anything else.
He seems determined to ignore you.
“Why do you hate me?”
The words slip past your lips before you even realize you’re saying them, shocking you just as much as they shock Robby.
Robby jerks at your sudden question, head snapping back round to glance at you in confusion. “What?”
“I mean, you must,” you mumble, fumbling with the hem of your shirt. “You never talk to me and you look like you’d rather be anywhere else then here with me right now.”
Robby frowns, unable to deny, shrugging his shoulders, “I don’t hate you. I just don’t trust you.”
Brows furrowing, you shake your head; “why?”
“Because you’re friends with Miguel,” Robby huffs, “and he’s one of them.” He spits the last word with such disgust, an angry look crossing his features as he scoffs at you.
“Miguel’s my friend,” you nod, shrugging. “But that doesn’t mean I agree with what they’re doing.” Then, after a moment, you add; “besides, you’re not the only one whose suffered because of Cobra Kai.”
Robby’s brows furrow but his face softens at your words nonetheless, a mixture of surprise and confusion flooding his features as he stares back at you. He hadn’t been expecting an answer, especially such a calm one at that.
Really, with the way he’d been treating you, you’d have every right to get mad. Or, at the very least, a little upset.
Swallowing thickly, Robby shifts; “why did you decide to join Miyagi-Do.”
“I dunno,” you whisper. “At first I was determined to avoid all karate. Karate is what took away my best friend. But then, when I saw your guys’ performance at the festival, I knew then that Miyagi-Do was different. I couldn’t look away.”
Meeting Robby’s gaze, you smile softly. “Besides, I could use some friends too.”
He blinks at that, lips parting in bafflement.
He hadn’t expected that. Any of it. Least of all the sadness in your voice as you explained your reasoning.
Suddenly, Robby feels guilty for the way he’d treated you. He’d barely even given you a chance before he just decided that you weren’t in it for real and that you were just like the rest of them. That you didn’t really care about Miyagi-Do. When really, you’d been just as hurt by Cobra Kai and all of it like him and Sam.
Lips parting, Robby stammers for a response; “I-I…—”
You just shake your head, waving him off; “it’s okay, Robby. You don’t have to explain yourself. I just hope you’ll give me a chance.”
“Yeah,” he nods, perhaps slightly too quickly as you let out a light giggle at his eagerness. “Yeah, sure.”
Your smile beams all too quickly and it’s clear you’re desperate for him to like you; “great!”
-
“Hey, have any of you seen my wallet?”
Turning at the sound of Mrs. Larusso’s voice, you blink as you watch her search through her beach bag, a look of desperation and slight panic on her face. Robby and Sam are stood before you, glancing at each other briefly before back at Mrs. Larusso.
“Wait,” Robby frowns, “you’re missing your wallet?”
“It’s gotta be around here somewhere,” she shakes her head. “Can you just spread out? I’m sure it’ll turn up somewhere.”
You nod, moving to walk off in search until you notice the look on Robby’s face. He’s shuffling off quickly, something in his gaze as he makes his way past Mrs. Larusso. “I’ll check the beach,” he explains, setting his bag down. “Maybe someone turned it in to the lifeguard.”
Your brows furrow as you watch him, something felt strange about the way he rushed off. You turn to Sam to ask if she knew but she’s already got her sights set on something and your eyes flicker upwards only to find the back to Aisha and who you assume is the new friend Sam mentioned she was with.
For a moment, you pause, unsure who to follow or if you should just go looking on your own. But the truth was, Robby had seemed uncomfortable the entire time you’d been there—it was subtle, but you’d gotten good at noticing things other people didn’t.
It was the perks of being in background.
“I’m gonna go help Robby,” you explain to Mrs. Larusso who nods at you distractedly.
It’s easy enough to follow Robby but you’re a few steps behind him, by the time you reach him he’s perched behind the stairs leading down to the beach. Your brows furrow as you watch him for a moment, slowing down your pace.
“Robby, what are you—”
The next second a handful of wallets fall to the floor. Sure enough, Mrs. Larusso’s is there as well.
“I knew it,” Robby huffs.
“How did you—”
“Yo, but did you see the shorty in the green thong?”
You blink at the new voice, mildly disgusted by the boys words as you glance up. There’s two footsteps heading down the stairs directly above you, just as a second voice calls out; “oh, man, I ain’t thinking about that right now.”
In the next second, Robby’s turning on his phone, starting a recording through the camera before he grabs you by the wrist, yanking you back. You stumble over your feet blindly for a moment, before catching your footing, turning to him in confusion as he tucks you and himself under the stairs, obviously trying to hide himself.
“All right, let’s get the stuff. We gonna bolt.”
“Just like that.”
He places himself in front of you, hiding you slightly from sight as the two boys come to a stop in front of you. By the looks on their faces, they know Robby.
“This guy here, man,” the one with the ball cap scoffs, shaking his head.
Stepping out from beneath the stairs, Robby shrugs; “same shit, different summer.”
Just what the hell was happening right now?
“What are you doing here, Robby?”
“Found your stash,” Robby gestures behind him, just as you slowly step out yourself. “You’re gonna give it all back.”
The taller, skinnier one scoffs; “the hell we are.”
“You didn’t learn your lesson last time? That’s cool. We can give you a refresher course.”
Shaking your head, you step forward; “Robby, what the h*ll is going on? How do you know these guys?”
Turning to you, Robby frowns; “just step back, Y/N. These guys stole from Mrs. Larusso.”
“I figured that much out myself,” you deadpan, “why do you know them?”
“Because Robby used to do it with us, sweet cheeks,” the ball cap wearing one grins, stepping closer to you as he eyes you up and down. “Man, where’d you find yourself such a sweet piece of a**, Robby?”
Bewildered by what he said and disgusted by his treatment of you, you shake your head, scoffing.
Robby huffs, “just shut up and bring it—“
He steps forward in preparation but then a shadow falls behind the both of you and you notice the man stood behind Robby a second too late. He brings a paddle to the back of Robby’s head, knocking him off his feet and straight to the ground as you gasp in response, quickly jumping away from the guy.
The two others laugh, “what you forgot this was a three man job?”
Glaring at them, you spin to face them; “what is wrong with you?” Racing forward, you move to swing a hit, only to have it easily blocked. It’s the one wearing the ball cap that catches your fist and you freeze in realization—you’ve trained in Miyagi-Do for approximately one day.
And all you’d done was sand a deck.
Why exactly had you thought you’d be able to take these guys?
Spinning you around, he locks you in his grip, wrapping an arm around your neck to hold you firmly to his chest as you huff. You try to work your way out but all the guy does is squeeze tighter, making you groan out slightly in response.
A huff catches your attention however, and your eyes widen when you see Robby slowly crawling to his knees.
“Robby!”
“You know,” the boy holding you calls out, “for a smart kid, you sure do learn slow.”
The man who’d hit Robby makes his way over to him, picking him back up to his feet by his shoulders, all but yanking him to his feet before putting him in a headlock similar to you. Except the guy holding Robby is twice his size and by the reddening of Robby’s face, you figure he’s holding him a lot tighter.
“Maybe,” the skinny one laughs, “we need to leave him something to remember him us by.”
Your eyes widen when he pulls out a pocket knife.
“Wait, no,” you cry, fighting the boy who’s holding you grip. He just squeezes tighter, making your face feel hot as you gasp for breath.
“Just wait your turn—“
He doesn’t finish his words. In the next second the boy in front of you is knocked to the ground, knife falling out of his hands, by… “Mr. Larusso?”
“Let them go.” Mr. Larusso calls out, hands held out before him.
“Don’t listen to him,” the boy holding you orders, shuffling back as you get dragged with him. Then, he stops, and suddenly you’re being thrown to the ground, landing onto the sand with a loud huff, the wind knocked out of you.
“Alright grandpa, let’s do it.”
Bracing yourself, you turn your head over your shoulder, the frown on your lips turning to a smile as you watch Mr. Larusso kick their asses—not to mention with ease.
When the guy holding Robby is the only one left, he throws him to the ground similar to how you’d been, moving to attack Mr. Larusso. You rush to Robby’s side without hesitation, your hands falling to his shoulders as you gaze down at him in concern.
“You okay, Robby?”
Meeting your gaze, Robby nods before the both of you glance back over at Mr. Larusso.
You just manage to catch sight of him roundhouse kick the last guy.
“Your grandpa know how to move like that, huh?”
Helping Robby to his feet, you laugh; “that was incredible, Mr. Larusso!”
“Yeah, well,” glancing at the both of you, Mr. Larusso nods. “Let’s just get out of here.”
-
“Mr. Miyagi didn’t recruit me. He wasn’t looking for students.”
Sitting up from your spot next to Sam, you smile at Robby and Daniel as they make their way out.
“He took me in because I needed him,” Daniel continues to explain, “I came to him, not the other way around. It’s time we be patient. Let those who need us, find us. Right?”
Daniel smiles at the three of you, and when he’s eyes meet yours you offer him a smile and a thumbs up. To you, that sounded like a perfect plan.
“Excuse me?”
Straightening at the sound of a familiar voice, your eyes widen at who you see.
“Uh, it was unclear if the gate was the front door or if I was supposed to ring the door bell.”
“Demetri?” You call out, eyes wide with shock as you stand up. Everyone’s eyes fall on you, watching as you step forward, lips parting.
“Oh, hey, Y/N. I didn’t know you were here.” Smiling, Demetri’s eyes flicker past you, head tilting; “is that a koi pond? How much does it cost to maintain that—“
Shaking your head, you interrupt him; “what are you doing here?”
“Uh, yeah…” shuffling on his feet, Demetri’s hands fall to his sides. “I wanna learn karate.”
Eyes widening, your lips part. Demetri had always been so against karate, even more than you… then again, you haven’t really talked to him in a while.
Clearly things had changed.
Smiling brightly, Daniel nods; “you’ve come to the right place.”
-
Needless to say, Demetri was exactly how you expected him to be.
He’s been your friend for as long as you can remember, and although you haven’t talk to him in a while, you knew him well. His heart wasn’t in it, it showed in the way he reacted to Mr. Larusso’s teachings.
Given that the two of you just started learning, Mr. Larusso had decided to teach you both together. But it was clear what set the two of you apart when you completed each and every task with no complaints while Demetri seemed to try to get out of it in whatever way he possibly could.
The both of you had been training for a few days now while Robby and Sam continued on their own. The movements were becoming easier and were starting to feeling natural, a thought that easily brought a smile to your face. The hard work was finally starting to pay off.
It was the start of your training for the day, Robby and Sam had already gotten started given that most of their training happened on their own now. You were just doing some stretching and warming up when Demetri made his way in for training today.
“Uh, hey, are we doing shirts versus skins?”
Looking up at the sound of his voice, your brows furrow. You glance over at Robby and Sam, who Demetri was talking to, noticing that Robby had taken off his shirt under this heat.
“Cause I’d prefer to be a shirt. Not saying that you have to be a skin,” Demetri calls out to Sam directly, causing you to roll your eyes. “Unless you want to. I support your right to choose.”
Pushing yourself up to your feet, you make your way over to Mr. Larusso whose just walked in, shaking your head at Demetri’s words.
Mr. Larusso nods at you in greeting before turning back to Demetri; “Demetri! Over here.”
He listens without fault, making his way up the stairs, before coming to a stop before the both of you. “Hey, Mr. L, before we begin…” reaching in his pocket, you pause when he pulls out a slip of paper, handing it to Mr. Larusso.
Holding the paper out in confusion, Mr. Larusso shakes his head. “What’s…”
“It’s a note from my mom excusing me from any extensive arm and leg movements.”
Eyes falling shut, you press a hand to your forehead.
“So, uh, if there’s an alternative lesson I could do… Maybe a workbook.”
Mr. Larusso sighs at Demetri’s words, but instead of responding the way you expect him to, he turns to you. “Y/N, show me ‘sand the floor’.”
Pausing in thought for a moment, you nod, kicking your leg back just as he does, and in the next second he’s turning, kicking his leg out towards you. But instead of hitting you, you block it, your hand moving down towards your side. Your eyes widen as you do, surprised at the ease with which you did.
“Excellent job, Y/N.” He smiles at you, to which you return before he turns to Demetri. “Okay, Demetri your turn. Just like Y/N. Show me ‘sand the floor’.”
Mr. Larusso does the same movements as he did with you, only Demetri doesn’t block. He simply… let’s Mr. Larusso kick him.
“Ow! You kicked me!”
Huffing, Mr. Larusso shakes his head; “why didn’t you block, Demetri? You know this. This is the muscle memory!”
“In case you haven’t noticed, I don’t have muscles.”
“Demetri,” you huff, shaking your head.
He turns to you; “what?”
“Just… do you… do you want to be here, Demetri?” Mr. Larusso asks, letting his hands fall to his sides as he turns to your friend, a frown on his lips.
“Not really.”
“Then why are you here?”
Eyes flickering to Demetri, you frown at the look on his face.
“My whole life I’ve been, let’s just say, less than popular. But at least I had a few friends.” You meet his gaze as he turns to you. “And then Cobra Kai comes to town, and next thing I know, my friends are taking karate and becoming alpha jerks.”
Shoulders falling, you glance at your feet.
“I’m literally be threatened by one of my best friends.”
Frowning, you shuffle on your feet, fiddling with your hands. You… you hadn’t know Demetri felt that way.
“I just wanted to show I could fight back.”
Stepping forward, you set your hand on Demetri’s shoulder, pulling his gaze on you. “I’m sorry,” you whisper, “I didn’t know you felt that way.”
Demetri just shakes his head; “it’s the same for you.”
Sighing, Mr. Larusso steps forward. “Look… I understand what you’re going through. I do. But Miyagi-Do isn’t about showing off. It’s about—“
“Self defenSe. I-I know. Problem is, my ‘self’ is too weak.”
Demetri walks off at that and you turn to him, eyes watching his back. You guess you’d been just as lousy of a friend to Demetri as Eli—you can’t remember the last time you’d hung out with him, just you and him.
No one else.
And while Eli had decided on just blatantly ignoring you, it seems like he’d been terrorizing Demetri. How? You didn’t know. But you’ve never seen Demetri act like that, not for as long as you’ve known him and certainly not ever when talking about Eli.
They were best friends, friends longer then with you. They’d been through everything together.
And now, Eli had just tossed him aside.
Turning to Mr. Larusso and seeing the defeated look on his face, you swallow thickly. “Don’t worry, Mr. Larusso. I’ll go talk to him.”
“You will?”
Meeting his eyes, you nod; “I’m one of his best friends.”
-
“Hey.”
Your voice is soft as you call out to Demetri, taking a seat next to him on the step as you gently bump your shoulder against his own.
He briefly glances up at you; “hey.” He offers blandly, a single nod.
Feeling the slight tension, you bring your knees up to your chest, hugging them tightly for moral support as you let your head rest on your knees. “I’m sorry about Eli, Demetri.”
Shrugging his shoulders, he waves you off. “It isn’t your fault.”
“Well, I’m also sorry I haven’t been a great friend.”
Blinking, Demetri turns to you in surprise.
“I haven’t been there for you and for that I’m sorry,” you say honestly, eyes flickering past him to stare in front of yourself. “I just couldn’t bare to be around him anymore, after… well, you know. It was too hard for me. But I should’ve still reached out to you.”
Demetri pauses a moment before slightly bumping his shoulder against yours. “If it’s any consolation, I think he misses you as much as you miss him.”
Raising a brow, you scoff at Demetri; “yeah sure. I’m sure he missed me so much while he was busy making out with Moon.”
“I’m serious. Whenever he was talking about something or when he did something impressive to show off, he’d get this look in his eyes and he’d search for you. Of course, you were never there…” Demetri explains, “he’d never admit to it of course. But, I know what I saw.”
Feeling your cheeks warm and an uncertainty on how to reply, you just pull your knees closer to yourself. “Well, doesn’t mean he’s any less of an a**hole.”
Demetri snorts, “I definitely agree with you there.”
Smiling at your success at getting him to smile, you turn to look at Demetri. “I did miss hanging out with you too, you know. Not just Eli.”
Meeting your gaze, Demetri can’t fight the smile from his lips. “Yeah, I missed you too. You unfortunately are sometimes the only sane person I know.”
Letting out a laugh, you shake your head; “thanks?”
“You’re welcome.”
Licking your lips, you hesitate on your next words. You don’t know if you should bring up Mr. Larusso or just leave it—ultimately, that was a decision Demetri needed to make for himself. You can’t force him either way.
You wanted him to take Miyagi-Do lessons because he wanted to. Not because he felt he had to.
So, choosing not to mention the elephant in the room, you grin over at him; “Robby, Sam and I were planning on heading to the mall later. Did you wanna come?”
-
“I’m more partial to his performance in ‘Donnie Darko’.”
Rolling your eyes with a smile on your face at Demetri’s words, you take a seat across from him, the both of you having just finished grabbing your food. You’d purposely delayed Demetri for the sake that it looked like Sam and Robby wanted some time alone—it was pretty obvious the two of each other had a massive crush on one another.
And with Demetri here now, you didn’t have to play the awkward third wheel.
“Interesting movie,” Demetri adds, nodding before he falters. “Time travel logic left a lot to be desired.”
Sam and Robby chuckle to one another as you grin; “I personally agree with Robby and Sam, ‘Dirty Dancing’ is the best. I used to watch it all the time as a little girl.”
Demetri pauses, “really? I would’ve—wait, is today Wednesday?”
Reeling back from Demetri’s sudden change in conversation, you watch as Robby and Sam answer his question.
“Yeah.”
“Mm-hmm.”
Demetri is suddenly snapping his fingers in your direction, “the new issue of Dungeon Lord came out,” he explains, moving to stand as your eyes widen in realization. It’s been so long since you’ve been able to hang with Demetri or even think about stuff like that you’d completely forgotten.
It was, however, good to know some things never changed.
“Um, do you guys want anything from the comic book store?”
Robby laughs, “uh, no thanks.” As Sam shakes her head.
“I’ll come with,” you shrug, pushing yourself to a stand. “It’s been a bit since I’ve gone.”
Demetri grins, “okay, we’ll be right back. Make sure no one throws away my chicken.”
He’s racing across the food court before you have another second to think, and letting out a laugh you offer a wave back at Sam and Robby before you move to follow after Demetri. The trip to the comic book store is easy enough and the second you catch up to Demetri, you shake your head at the fact that he’s slightly breathless.
“I’m gonna go look around, okay?” You turn to him, laughing. “Let me know when you find Dungeon Lord.”
Demetri nods and with that, the two of you head your separate ways, a smile on your face. This certain comic book store is quite large and you find yourself reminiscing as you look at all the comic books, surprised at all the new volumes you’d missed.
You’d have to get Demetri to catch you up on all of them.
You’re so lost in your thoughts, you barely hear the sound of something being knocked over. It sounds like a stand, the sound of books clattering along with it startles you from your thoughts the second you hear it, glancing up from the comic book in your hands with furrowed brows as you glance to your right.
You can’t really see anything, tucked away in a aisle.
But it did sound like it came from the direction Demetri had headed in.
Thinking better then to ignore it, you put the comic book back, making your way over.
“You think I’m afraid of you?” Eyes widening in concern at Demetri’s voice, you move to quicken your pace until you hear his next words. “I know who you really are… Eli.”
Eli? Eli was here?
Slowly making your way forward, you pause at the sight of him. He hasn’t noticed you, and neither has the other two with him—nor Demetri. You’ve tucked yourself behind a shelf purposely, because the mere sight of him makes everything in your body freeze. Eli looks a lot different then you remember, a red mohawk instead of a blue, and there’s this look in his eyes.
He almost seems unrecognizable. You know it’s him but there’s no trace left of the Eli you once knew. It isn’t just his hair or the clothes he wears, it’s the way he’s looking down at Demetri.
You’ve never seen him so mad. Let alone at his own best friend.
“So, why don’t you, Rocksteady and Bepop just leave me alone, okay?”
Just as Demetri moves to turn, two others come up behind him, effectively blocking his path. Your heart falls to the pit of your stomach at the sight, a sick feeling enveloping you as you shuffle back on your feet.
Something told you this wasn’t going to end well.
“Great. So this is what it’s come to,” Demetri scoffs, “gang assault.”
“Take it down, or we take you down.”
You haven’t heard his voice in a while. Not since at he All Valley tournament. You hadn’t realized avoiding him as much as you had been would make seeing him again so hard. Something as simple as just hearing his voice was making you feel stuck in your place.
“You’d actually hurt me?”
Eli doesn’t respond, and that scares you more than if he had.
“Well, guess what, you’re not the only one that knows karate.” Eyes widening at Demetri’s words, you freeze—he’d barely even learned wax on, wax off. “I just joined Miyagi-Do.”
He kicks his leg back, before pausing, switching his side in preparation.
Scoffing, Eli rolls his eyes; “all right, let’s see what you got.”
It happens in the blink of an eye, you barely have time to process what he’s doing. Eli delivers a nasty kick to Demetri’s stomach before ducking, sweeping Demetri off his feet and having him crashing to the ground.
The sight is almost unbelievable to you—obviously, you’d known Eli had changed but… but to attack Demetri like that?
Demetri really was being terrorized by him.
“Demetri!” You act on instinct, your worry over taking your apprehension as you rush out from where you’d been hiding. Your eyes meet Eli’s briefly, and it’s as if time slows as he falters at the sight of you, lips parting in bafflement at the sight of you there. You just glare at him, rushing to Demetri’s side as you fall to your knees next to him.
“What the h*ll is wrong with you?” You cry at Eli, helping to pull Demetri up by his shoulders as you stare back at Eli in disbelief.
Eli pauses, hesitant on what to say. His friends are looking at him in confusion, obviously not understanding what the problem was before he scoffs; “he was asking for it.”
You just roll your eyes, moving to say something else before you’re interrupted by the sound of the store clerk calling out; “hey, what’s going on back there?”
Demetri uses that split second of distraction to jump to his feet, pulling you with him by the wrist as he races past Eli’s two other friends, making his way out of the comic book store. The second you’re out he let’s go of your hand, a huff leaving your lips as you follow closely behind him.
“What are we doing!” You cry out, distressed.
“Do you wanna fight him?” He calls back.
And you both know the answer to that.
Demetri bumps into two people before knocking over a sunglasses stand. You shuffle back as he goes crashing to the ground once more, quickly moving to help him back up to his feet, calling out a quick apology to the owner of the sunglasses stand.
The second the two of you reach the food court, you both rush to where Robby and Sam had been.
Only, they’re not there.
“Of course they left.”
You shake your head, glancing around, “they wouldn’t have—”
But you don’t finish what you’re saying because you catch sight of Eli, making his way into the food court and as you turn, the rest of his friends are there with him. They’re circling around the two of you, leaving no room for escape as you stumble back on your feet.
“It didn’t have to be this way,” Eli calls out menacingly, eyes set directly on Demetri, “you could’ve joined Cobra Kai if you weren’t such a pussy.”
He’s gaining on the both of you, specifically Demetri, the latter backing up as he pants out; “well at least I’m not an a**hole!”
In the next second he’s grabbed, and you instantly turn to his defense. “Hey, let him—” however, before you can reach him, you feel two hands grab you by the arms, tugging you back.
“You’re dead meat.”
Turning to Eli at his words, you shake your head; “Eli, please stop! He’s your best friend!”
Eli meets your gaze, and for a moment he pauses, faltering, this look of apprehension washing over his gaze before he blinks, and it’s gone. He turns back to Demetri, and panic crawls up the back of your throat as you watch him gain on him.
Except he doesn’t make it far. In the next second Sam is rushing forward, kicking the guy who was holding Demetri back and away, just as you feel the hands holding you disappear. Robby is suddenly in front of you, hands falling on your shoulders.
“Are you okay?”
Nodding, breathless, you shuffle back as he pulls you behind him, Sam doing the same with Demetri.
“You guys need to back off.”
When you turn to Eli, his eyes are on you and Robby, a deep frown marring his lips before he turns to Sam. “I don’t wanna have to hit a girl.”
Robby jumps forward; “you wouldn’t stand a chance.”
Eli scoffs, “five against four?” Then, setting his glare on Demetri, he laughs; “more like three and a half.”
His jab causes a series of laughs from his friends to echo and then, with a single nod from him, everyone moves into action. It happens so quickly, you can barely even process what’s happening. Everybody is throwing hits at one another, Demetri huddled close to Sam as she blocks hits and takes just as many.
Before you know it Robby is suddenly no longer by your side and as you turn to find him, or get closer to Demetri, you pause at the sight of the boy from earlier who held you gaining on you.
He smirks at you, and then suddenly, without a thought, he jumps at you. It happens on instinct, your hand moving to block his punch before you stare back at yourself in amazement. It was the first time you’d been able to actually use any of what Mr. Larusso had taught you in action. The boy huffs at your block, not wasting another second as he moves to attack. He’s quicker this time, and before you know it you find yourself getting overwhelmed, unable to keep up.
It’s his third hit that nails you square in the stomach, the wind being knocked out of you as you fall to your back. A cry leaves your lips as you hit the ground, hands curling around your stomach.
“Hey! What the h*ll man!”
You don’t recognize the voice as Eli’s until he’s in front of you, pulling you up to your feet. He’s suddenly too close, hands falling on your arms as he guides you upwards. You blink up at him as he does, stunned silent at the concerned look in his eyes, a look that reminds you of the old Eli, until you remember just why you were here.
What he’d done. What he was trying to do.
“Don’t touch me!” You hiss out, breaking out of his touch. You slap his hands away, stumbling back all whilst trying to ignore the ache in your gut.
“Y/N—”
“What the h*ll is wrong with you?” You huff, turning distressed by this whole situation—a situation caused by him. “Attacking Demetri?”
Eli pauses, that look in his eyes washing away as his gaze hardens. “He deserves it. If you’d just listen to me, you’d understand—”
“Understand what?” You cut him off, your face hardening as you step towards him, still holding your stomach but putting on a brave face. “That you’re a bully?”
Lips parting, Eli falters.
“You’re just like Kyle and the rest of them!”
He doesn’t say anything, not at first. His lips have parted but no words leave his lips.
You don’t even realize that the rest of his friends have already been knocked down by Robby and Sam. And that now all the attention has turned to the both of you.
Eli steps towards you; “Y/N—”
“Get the h*ll away from her!”
It’s Robby who calls out, rushing towards you as he gently pushes you back, towards Sam and Demetri, the latter grabbing you and pulling you to his side. But your eyes instantly snap back over to Robby and Eli, watching as the latter knocks the former into one of the tables, shuffling back to race towards him in attack.
He jumps up, swinging his arm out for a hit, but Robby just shoots his leg out behind him, kicking Eli directly in the head and thus, knocking him to the ground.
Your lips part as you watch Eli roll on the ground, obviously in pain, feeling your hands shaking next to your side. The instinctive part of you wants to reach out for him, help him. But you don’t move.
Of course you don’t move.
“We saved your chicken,” Sam smiles at Demetri, handing him a to-go box.
“Thanks.”
-
After the four of you had gotten back to Sam’s house, you’d tucked yourself away.
You didn’t have the heart to listen to Robby and Sam go on about how proud they were of how they’d been able to fight together. It was amazing what they’d done, no doubt, but you couldn’t be there. And you couldn’t be there for Demetri, even if you should be.
The reality was you couldn’t believe what you’d seen.
Of course you’d known Eli had changed—it’s what started all of this in first place. It’s what had broken your heart. It’s why you’d had that fight that day. But… but to see him actually go after Demetri like that, with the full intent to hurt him… you never thought he’d actually stoop that low.
He’d even let you get hurt.
Sure, it wasn’t him who did it but it’d been his stupid friends. Who cared if he tried to help you up afterwards? What did that even matter? Is that who he hung out with nowadays?
Is that what he did now? Bully people?
Clearly the answer was yes.
You couldn’t stand it. It hurt too much. All of it. You wished Cobra Kai had never opened up, you wished Eli had never joined—where would you be now if he hadn’t?
Would he still be one of your best friends?
Would… would you be together?
You had no to talk to… Sam was too happy about her win, Demetri was dealing with his own stuff, Miguel was in Cobra Kai… and where was your mom? Not home, like she always was.
There was no one.
A soft knock pulls you from your thoughts, startling you as you blink away the tears that had begun to build. The sound of the door opening pulls your attention up and you falter at the sight of Mr. Larusso, embarrassed at how he’d caught you.
Wiping at your cheeks, you turn away. “I’ll be out in a minute, Mr. Larusso.”
“Y/N…” he calls out faintly, “are you okay?”
You feel a sob threaten to break past your lips at his words, swallowing thickly as you shake your head, still turned away. “I’m fine.”
“Did you get hurt? Are you injured—”
“I just got kicked in the stomach. I’m okay.” Managing to gather yourself enough to look at him, you shrug your shoulders. “Sam and Robby were good. I didn’t really have to lift a finger.”
Mr. Larusso shrugs, attempting to smile reassuringly; “I heard you blocked a couple of hits yourself, though, from Demetri.”
You just shrug; “I wasn’t able to do much else.”
Pausing, Mr. Larusso steps forward, letting the door softly shut behind him. He makes his way towards you, pointing at the spot next to you; “may I?” Nodding, you shuffle over and he takes a seat. He pauses a moment, breathing in, before continuing. “Can I ask you why you decided to join Miyagi-Do?”
Turning to him, you hesitate; “I didn’t want to. At first. But then at the Valley festival I saw your performance and… well, I decided to.”
“That was all?”
“I felt guilty,” you explain further, “because of what Cobra Kai did.”
Mr. Larusso’s brows furrow; “guilty? Why?”
Tensing, you swallow thickly. “Well, um… you know how Demetri mentioned that he was being threatened by his best friend?” Mr. Larusso nod. “He’s mine too and he’s apart of Cobra Kai. He’s the one who attacked Robby illegally at the All Valley tournament.”
Mr. Larusso’s eyes widen. “The kid with the Mohawk?”
You nod.
“Was he there today?”
Your body instantly tenses, giving Mr. Larusso the answer he needs. Still, he waits for you to answer, watching as you slowly turn to meet his gaze. “He was the one who instigated it.” You explain, frowning. “I… I just never thought he’d actually try to hurt Demetri. He’s is best friend.”
“Cobra Kai manipulates kids, that’s what it does,” Mr. Larusso sighs. “It looks like that’s what it did to…”
“Eli.”
“Eli.” Mr. Larusso nods. “But it doesn’t mean he’s gone forever.”
“It feels like it,” you whisper, hugging yourself as you sniffle lightly. “It feels like I’ll never get him back and that it’ll never be the way it was. And it just… hurts so much. It hurts so much I can barely stand it.” The words are pouring past your lips before you can stop them, shocked by how much you’re confessing to Mr. Larusso. “I just want him back.”
Shaking his head, Mr. Larusso sets a hand on your shoulder, squeezing softly. “It’ll be okay, Y/N. I promise.”
Feeling the tears slip past your defences, you shake your head, “and if it never gets better?”
“It will.”
And he says the words with such certainty, no doubt in his voice that it’s enough to pull you from your own desperation. Turning to look at him, you blink at the look on Mr. Larusso’s face, the smile on his lips and can’t help but think it’s been so long since you’ve had a parent show you any care or attention, regardless that you barely know him, that the ache in your heart lessens just faintly at the mere thought.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” he smiles. “I’m positive.”
And it’s enough to bring the faintest of smiles to your lips, swallowing thickly as you wipe away your tears, nodding.
“Thank you, Mr. Larusso.”
“Of course,” he grins, “and you were amazing today. Standing up for your friend like that.”
Blushing faintly under his compliment, you shrug, letting out a soft laugh as he stands up. You follow him, allowing him to lead out of the room and back with with Robby, Sam and Demetri, feeling a lot better then you had seconds prior.
Then, the next day, the dojo is trashed.
-
“It was you, wasn’t it?”
Pausing at the sound of your voice, Eli turns. He’d just left the dojo for the night, having stayed a bit later then the rest—you’d texted Miguel beforehand, it was the only reason you knew. He thought you wanted to rekindle things with Eli, and honestly, you were willing to let him believe that.
It allowed you this opportunity.
“Y/N, what the h*ll are you doing here?”
“It doesn’t matter,” you scoff, shaking your head. “Tell me you didn’t actually do it.”
He just shakes his head, moving to walk past you. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Besides, you should go home. It’s late and what would your friends think if they say you here.”
You just huff at his jab, a humourless laugh leaving your lips as you step in front of him, effectively blocking his path. “Don’t try to turn this around. Someone destroyed Miyagi-Do, tore it apart. I… please tell me it wasn’t you.”
Tensing, Eli avoids your gaze. “You don’t know shit.”
“It was you,” you breathe, the truth revealed in the way he couldn’t meet your eyes properly. As his gaze snaps over to you, you shake your head, disbelief clear in your gaze. “You always avoid my eyes when you lie to me. You’ve done it since I first met you…”
Squaring his shoulders and knowing he’d been caught, Eli just brushes you off; “so what if I did? I was finishing the fight.”
“The fight you started!” You cry out, holding your hands out before you in exasperation. “How can you not realize what you’ve done is wrong? You attacked Demetri, trashed someone’s property and stole a veterans medal of honour!”
Eli’s cheeks warm in embarrassment, his eyes widening at your words. “Just… just f*ck off, Y/N. It has nothing to do with you.”
“It has everything to do with me. Demetri’s my best friend too. Miyagi-Do is my dojo. And Mr. Larusso is my Sensei.”
Eli’s lips part, but no words leave his lips.
“I barely even recognize you anymore. What happened to you?”
“I changed for the better. It’s about time you and Demetri changed too.”
Stunned by his words, you falter, your anger suddenly shifting as the hurt resurfaces. “I thought you cared about me,” you whisper, moving to hug yourself as you feel your voice shake, digging your nails into your arms. “I thought you cared about us.”
Never once had you thought Eli would want you to change—to be someone you weren’t. He’d always told you you were perfect the way you were. To know that now he… he didn’t feel that way anymore…
You don’t see it but Eli’s face softens, regret flooding his gaze as he pauses.
Then, with a whisper, he shakes his head; “I do.”
You meet his gaze. “If you did you wouldn’t have done any of this.”
Eli shakes his head again, stepping towards you as you move to walk away. He grabs you by the arm, pulling you close before you can break free and when you meet his eyes, you’re shocked by the desperation in his own. “No, Y/N. I do. I do care about you. A-About us. I still do.”
You watch his face, seeing the look in eyes eyes and feeling the way he holds you, hesitating before speaking. “You don’t regret it though.” You finally say, the words feeling like poison on your tongue as you frown up at him.
Lips parting, Eli’s brows furrow.
“Attacking Demetri, destroying our dojo… you don’t regret it.”
Swallowing thickly, Eli moves to speak before he pauses, as if thinking better. Then, his eyes narrow and gone is that look of desperation. “Of course I don’t.”
Smacking his hands away, you step back.
“I can’t believe you.”
And then you’re turning without another word, refusing to meet his eyes once more even as he calls after you, practically yelling your name.
You just ignore it.
You can’t bear to look at him anymore.

hey, i have a question about scavengers reign! could you elaborate a little bit about the animal death/suffering/gore shown in the series? i’m sensitive to that kind of thing but usually willing to push past it if i know what i’m going to see beforehand
i guess first thing if it helps, there are no real animals in the show. all the animals are fictional aliens and most do not resemble real animals in any way. theyre still treated like animals rather than monsters but the resemblance isnt really there
i wont go through every instance because theres a lot of them and it would take ages, but the impact of each depiction ranges from 'nature doing nature stuff' to 'horrific violence meant to show something deeply wrong taking place'
some of the depictions are very graphic, others less so, and as far as i can remember there isnt as much animal suffering as there is human suffering?? its mostly just animals being killed/eaten and imo they always seem very respectful of the animals involved. any instance of cruel or unnecessary violence towards the wildlife is very openly condemned, naturally since one of the major themes is harmony with the environment
spoilers under the cut for some of the worst stuff
i think the worst instances of violence towards animals i can think of off the top of my head are
at a certain point one of the humans starts killing animals with a rock, the scenes are short and most of the blows land off-screen but it is still pretty graphic
a large animal gets torn apart across the middle, also short-lived but graphic
several extended shots of rotting animal corpses
several depictions of animals being melted or torn apart by other animals

Grace, his saving grace.
When people say Grace made Tommy weak, I resent that. She made him stronger not weaker. But, I understand where they are getting it from and let me elaborate on it. Perfect example was the night Grace got shot. Just for a minute here, lets pretend the sapphire was cursed and if only Tommy got it out from her, maybe just maybe she wont get shot. Grace kissed Tommy after he said those iconic words "I need you, Grace, I need you".
The theory was if only Tommy was focused enough, he should have taken the necklace right away and not make her a target but nope, he didn't. What did he do? He held Grace tightly and towards him and kisses her few more times. Grace meant to kiss him just once. In that moment, Tommy was off guard, he was all in focused on Grace forgetting or not knowing really, there is a price tag on him and his family. Now, the bullet was made for him, but the theory was its also meant for the closest to him- his wife who is wearing a sapphire. She became a target as well, all the time. This, among other instances are part of the reasons why they say Grace made Tommy weak that for a man like him, he shouldn't be that way. Wrong. That is not true and that is not the case.
My 2 cents is Tommy has always been vulnerable, every calm demeanor was just a facade to hide his real self. His real self includes the ptsd, the anger and trust issues, the mobster, criminal but also the pre war Tommy, romantic, calm and good. Grace exposed it, the bad and good. It has always been there. The "perceived weakness" was always been there that's why he made bad choices. Nobody corrects him, he was surrounded by "yes people " and a family that is very unstable, too. Then came along, the one person who makes him think twice. Who made him guess, who got him confused, intrigued, who he cannot read her mind. She made him contemplate first on his actions that for once, someone can say No, someone can leave someone can reject him or disobey him. Grace did all that and for that, Grace made him stronger not weaker. She made him human, again. Being a monster is not a strength, its a curse, a burden. Tommy realized that's why he chose Grace despite all odds. What they had was not just any ordinary love or even love per'se, but unyielding, breathtaking love and loyalty towards each other, with the utmost respect and sincerity of two wounded souls colliding in different uniforms but basically one being. They were opposites but exactly the same. For me, its the most beautiful, freaking fictional love story written on a small screen perfectly portrayed by incomparable on on screen couple.
If tommy became weak, its not because of Grace its because despite being Tommy, he is a human being. Its entirely because of himself, circumstances and choices. Remember they were together for almost 3 years, they were just alright. Vulnerability shouldn't be perceived a weakness, it should be of strength. Grace made him stronger for she made him a better man. She took the goodness left in his heart and exposed it to the best of both of their abilities. She chose the goodness in him through and through. Just like Padme's last words about Anakin aka Darth Vader "There's still goodness in him, I know". She changed him. She made him a better person and he clearly wanted to on his accord for HER. That's how powerful Grace was and always will be. Haters are afraid of that, that's why they hate her and Tommy being flawed, imperfect and vulnerable is not ok with them, they excuse his bad doings and blame on Grace. Fact is Tommy with Grace has found a life, a real life. It may have been short that they were in paradise, high and low but boy it was real not some made up shit others points out with other love interests. Death will always follow tommy and those he love. If karma took Tommy's one great love in Grace, it is not because of Grace but because of himself. It sucks really for Grace for she deserves better but she made her choice, too. Weak or not, its his choices not hers that took the life of her. To end this, Tommy and Grace's love was the strongest of them all. People have to thank Grace for making him happy and for making their perfect in ther eyes no fault hero a monster, too. For better or worse, Tommy carried on living and I believe, Grace kept him alive until they would reunite in the afterlife. Grace is his savior after all.

wdym by the infantilisation of george? genuinely asking as I haven't rlly seen that myself ahah but could you elaborate/give some examples?
note: I edited this ask after posting bc i wasnt done and also didn't say stuff entirely the way I meant lmao. I probably got redundant but idek what I wrote anymore, also there's a tldr at the end.
oh hey !! yeah, something ive seen are karim's (specifically this version) autistic traits and how they were portrayed in his fanon. some people either reduce him to or focus his character heavily on his 'cute' or 'childish' autistic traits, and this kind of becomes his main identity. he's autistic, and his childishness is pounced on and multiplied by fandom, because they want him to be cute like autistics are. he's autistic, and therefore vulnerable and dependent. a baby, not as capable as Lucy and Lockwood, which is nowhere near true. see the problem? /gen not only is it an unrealistic depiction of autism, but it can make people uncomfortable and be harmful.
I will mention this is an unfortunately common thing both in general fandom and irl, not something I expect one post to change. I am just sharing thoughts here :] but anyways lol
yes we as autistics can be childish. yes it may even be cute to you. yes we may feel childish ourselves, comfortably so, and that's totally fine. but it's when our whole being is warped into that one stereotype it becomes a problem. it's when people forget the rest about us, and we're your fandom vessel for angst and fluff where cute tiktok autism is our whole personality and we're not really a person anymore but a little pet people coo over. objecitified. people want to embrace these 'dependant' characters and they mean well, but the treatment of autistic traits can be.... uncomfortable. because, I mean, where does that leave you if you share these same traits? you likely don't want to be treated in such a way; you know you aren't some child to be coddled. but these characters are, and it feels wrong.
in good portrayals of autism and its acceptance, we can have all our autistic traits-- yes even the cute ones you want to baby us over, and yes even the weird and negative ones youd rather ignore, and still be treated as an equal, like george is. we wont be coddled more than a neurotypical, not treated as lesser in maturity or awareness, or shoved in a box. lockwood and co is like that to George, which is wonderful. as is most of the fandom, which is even better.
however I have seen this in fics and hc posts most notably, and it's a glaring contrast compared to the most works, and I do wonder if others have noticed and it leaves them with a funny taste in their mouth too.
not to get all preachy on this fine Wednesday at 2 in the morning, though.
tl;dr: reducing an autistic person to vulnerability and a childish nature, with malevolent intentions or not, is harmful. george is capable and badass !!! and honestly? it makes me as an autistic uncomfortable, seeing people with my traits treated like that over them by fandom, even though they mean well. balance is key. not being a total freak over our cutie patootie autistic faces is also. <- /hj /silly
obligatory end message where I mention again this isn't something horribly common in this fandom around my side of tumblr, at least, but I have seen it and wanted to ask if 1) y'all noticed it with George too and 2) share thoughts lol
ty for the ask, always happy to clarify my posts for y'all !! :]

Mission part 8. [Fem!Reader x Hantengu clones.]
"Regenerations."
Tumblr media
Akaza stood up. Regenerating his eardrums at fast speeds.
"I didn't need a group of demons to pounce on me like that. Thanks to you, I got my favorite shorts all muddy now.."
Aizetsu was shocked to see not only how quickly Akaza healed his eardrums, but his ability in general.
— "Wow.. I can't believe you already healed your eardrums in such a short period of time. I knew that you'd be powerful, as you're Upper Moon Three, but I never imagined you being this powerful.."
He says as his tone shifts, sounding impressed and somewhat fascinated by Akaza.
— "But, if you let us explain, we have a reason for attacking you.."
Akaza rolled his eyes. Seemingly uninterested. But still he didn't mind
"Go on."
Y/N steps forward to explain her reasoning for attacking Akaza in the first place.
— "My daughter Reiko smelled the scent of an Upper Moon demon in this area. She was right, you're here now. What are you doing here, Akaza-san?"
She says in a curious tone, waiting for his response. She seems genuinely interested in why he was in the area in the first place, as that may mean that Doma or Muzan is nearby.
Aizetsu suddenly spoke up, seeming intrigued.
— "Hmm.. Akaza-san, you said you came here because you wanted to take a rest from 'Mister Upper Rank Two'? Could you elaborate more on what exactly you mean by that..~"
He says with a curious and questioning tone, looking directly at Akaza in a confused manner.
"If you wanna know how it feels for Doma to be close to me then welcome aboard. That creep has changed ever since your female friend had joined your group. And not to mention the child as well."
Karaku suddenly notices Akaza's words and seems to realize something important
— "Hold on.. did you say that something about 'Doma being close to you'?~ Can you elaborate some more on that..~?"
He says in a curious tone, wondering if he meant what he thought he meant.
"Doma sees me as his "friend" Alright. Don't know how. I never even liked the guy to begin with due to his taste in female flesh. And not to mention his wicked cult.. Like. Who wants to be apart of something that will always end badly for you.. And not to mention that he try to force feed me one of the dead carcasses.. Bleh.."
Sekido is surprised to hear Akaza talk so nonchalantly about Doma like that, though he does make a good point.
— "I agree with you, Doma's "taste" is not what you would normally expect for a demon of his rank. Not to mention his cult and their beliefs, which I feel like are more of a scam than anything to be honest. Doma should spend more time focusing on finding his Blue Spider Lily instead of being obsessed with having a female companion."
He says with a slight laugh as he puts air quotes around the word 'friend'.
Aizetsu nods in agreement with Sekido.
— "Doma is truly odd in that sense, he's obsessed with female flesh and having a female companion. He seems much more interested in his own pleasure and happiness instead of actually achieving his end goal of finding his blue spider lily to become an Upper Rank One."
He says in a serious tone, seeming disappointed at Doma's behavior.
"Your damn right. He's a strong guy but. He acts like a child at times. He doesn't believe in heaven or hell nor does he believe that male flesh would make him stronger.. He's a creepy guy. Something I dont want any of you to go near with in case you do see him."
Urogi suddenly steps forward and asks Akaza something he has on his mind.
— "If I may ask, Akaza-san.. why would you take a break from Doma and the other Upper Moons when you know that there's a possibility that Doma and Muzan are nearby? Why come here if you knew this may happen?"
He says with a small smile and a puzzled expression, wondering if Akaza knows something about Doma and Muzan that might be useful for the others to know.
"Their not here. Their at the infinity castle. And I made sure that they wont leave. Don't know about Muzan though since he's busy blending in with civilizations and taking many forms to hide his demonic persona. So it's just me.. But I might guess that the child would have picked up my scent instead of their's"
Y/N thinks about Akaza's words for a moment.
— "Hmm.. So, Doma and the others aren't here? How do you know that they're at the Infinity Castle? Did someone else tell you about this or something like that..?"
She says with an inquisitive tone, wondering if Akaza himself had some kind of insider information on the other Upper Demons' whereabouts. She also nods at Akaza when he mentions the possibility of Reiko picking up his scent in place of the other Upper Demons' scents.
"Doesn't Nakime rings a bell to you guys?"
Aizetsu is taken aback by the name, his expression shifting to one of surprise and curiosity.
— "Nakime? What do you mean? Are you implying that she's with the other Upper Demons at the Infinity Castle right now..?"
He looks at Akaza with a questioning look, wanting to know more about this new information.
"Precisely. And besides, she did take me to the resort here in the first place."
Urogi nods in agreement with Akaza, smiling softly as he looks at him.
— "You're right, if Nakime takes you somewhere, she usually has a reason for it. If she's with the other Upper Demons, then there's a good chance that they're not too far from here. Thank you for that information, Akaza-san.."
He says with a cheerful tone as he bows his head respectfully, feeling relieved to have this information now.
Sekido stands up from his previous seated position and approaches Akaza, his eyes darting around to see if anyone else is nearby.
— "Akaza-san.. may I ask you a question..?"
He says in a calm and collected tone, not wanting to be too intrusive of Akaza's privacy, but still curious about the question he wants to ask him.
Urogi and Aizetsu both look at Akaza with curiosity.
— "What sort of relationship do you have with Nakime, exactly..~?"
Sekido asks in a curious manner, wondering if there's more to the two demons' relationship than meets the eye.
"Good friends. Due to her being a woman and i Respect that. Isn't it that hard. I never hurt any females. Especially your female friend and her child."
Karaku takes in the information that Akaza just gave him regarding the relationship between him and Nakime. He also nods in agreement of what Akaza said about respecting women, since he has never actually done any harm to any himself.
— "I respect you a lot because of that. You seem to have more of a brain than other Upper Demons do."
He says with a small smile, seeming to appreciate the other demon's values.
"Eugh.. Totally.. Welp. Best for me to find my Resort room and settle down. Fighting against that Flame Hashira taught me a few lessons or two.. And getting scolded by Muzan for that matters."
Akaza picked up his things.
Sekido nods in agreement with Akaza.
— "That would be for the best. It's always good to rest after a tough battle. We shall not disturb you further."
He says as he gestures for the others to let Akaza go and rest.
Karaku waves at Akaza as he walks away.
— "Goodbye for now, Akaza. It's been an interesting encounter."
He says in a cheerful voice as he continues to watch the Upper Rank Three demon walk away from them.
Reiko looked up at Y/N. She was getting very scared
"Mummy.. Is it true with what he said.. Is this "Doma" Person really after me...?"
Reiko had tears in her eyes.
Y/N walks over to Reiko and kneels down next to her, hugging her as she wipes away Reiko's tears.
— "It's true that Doma is looking for you, Reiko-chan~ But don't worry~ I'll make sure that nothing happens to you~ okay?~"
She says with a warm and reassuring tone, smiling at Reiko as she tries to comfort her.
Sekido slowly walks over to the both of them and joins in on the hug.
— "Yes, Reiko, Doma is after you. But, Y/N and I will protect you, no matter what."
He says in a serious tone as he tightens his grasp on Reiko, reassuring her that he will not let anything happen to her.
Urogi chuckles as he also joins in on the hug.
— "Yeah, don't worry! The three of us will protect you! Just stick close to us and you'll be totally safe, Reiko-chan~"
He says in a cheerful tone as he leans down to pick up Reiko, carrying her in his arms.
Karaku smiles at their heartwarming moment, but he eventually sighs.
— "It brings me a warm and fuzzy feeling to see such a precious and innocent girl as yourself be surrounded by so much warmth and love, Reiko-chan.. But, I can't help but worry about what might happen to you in the future..~"
He says in a worried tone as he crosses his arms beneath his chest, thinking of all of the horrible things that could happen to Reiko and how they might end up being unable to protect her forever..
Sekido looks at Karaku, his expression becoming worried.
— "Are you thinking of something, Karaku-san..?"
He says in a curious tone, wanting to know what was bothering the other demon.
Y/N looks back at Karaku and becomes worried as well.
— "Is something the matter..~? Are you predicting what may happen to Reiko in the future..~?"
She says in a concerned tone, noticing how worried and tense Karaku has become.
Karaku nods slowly in response to Sekido, still looking worried.
— "I can't believe that even you two can see through me.. Well, I won't deny it, as it is the truth.. Yes, I was just thinking of all the things that could happen to Reiko in the future."
He says in a defeated tone as he crosses his arms under his chest, still seeming worried. He seems to have lost a lot of his cheerfulness that he previously had when talking to Y/N, as his expression is now filled with worry.
Aizetsu slowly makes his way to the resort rooms and heads to his own room, wondering if he can get a bit of rest himself. He seems down and disappointed in himself after his earlier conversation with Akaza.
— "I see…"
He says quietly, sounding disappointed. He sighs as he turns and looks at the other demons.
— "I was hoping that all of this time, I could find a way to protect Reiko-chan, but now… I'm not so sure anymore..~"
Karaku nods at Aizetsu and continues speaking to the group
— "I know it's a hard thing to swallow..~ But we must face the facts..~ Unless we somehow discover a new ability stronger than what we already posses..~ I don't think we actually stand a chance against Doma and Muzan anymore..~"
He says in a depressing tone as he rubs the back of his head, looking down and seemingly depressed. He seems to have lost hope for the time being. Aizetsu's statement seemed to have really hit him hard..
hearing this. Reiko knew that she was in danger.. She let out a big cry
"I dont wanna die Mummy!!! I dont wanna die!!!!!!"
Urogi and Sekido are not only taken aback by Reiko's sudden reaction but they are saddened because of it.
— "Now now, Reiko-chan..~ Please do not say something like that..~"
Urogi says in a comforting tone as he brings Reiko closer to him.
— "Just try to calm down and understand..~ As Y/N said, we will do our best to keep you safe..~ You won't have to die, Reiko-chan…~"
Aizetsu sighs deeply as he hears Reiko's sudden cry. He looks up and watches as Urogi and Sekido attempt to comfort her.
— "Indeed..~ Just please, try to calm down..~"
Aizetsu says in a concerned manner, turning away from them and looking around with a bit of unease. He knows what they mean, but even he is unsure that they can protect Reiko forever… He looks down at the floor and sighs to himself.
Urogi pats Reiko's head as he hugs her and tries to calm her down.
— "Shhhhh…~ Now, now..~ There's no need to cry or be sad, Reiko-chan..~ Everything is going to be alright, we'll do whatever it takes to protect you~"
Urogi says reassuringly as he smiles at Reiko, wanting to ease her worries. He then turns to look at Aizetsu and Sekido, seeming hopeful.
Sekido smiles at Y/N as she kisses Reiko on the forehead.
— "Ah..~ How adorable~"
Urogi chuckles softly as he watches the mother and daughter interact with each other, which cheers him up a bit and makes him feel a bit better. He then looks at Sekido for a moment, smiling at him before looking at Y/N again.
— "It seems that Y/N has made her daughter very happy~"
Y/N softly smiles as she sees her daughter's happy expression.
— "Hehe..~ It's a mother's job to ensure the well-being and happiness of their child~"
She says in a sweet tone as she kisses Reiko on her forehead again.
— "And I will do everything in my power to protect and care for my daughter, no matter what it takes~"
Her voice becomes protective and serious as she thinks about what kind of world Reiko will have to face.
Karaku smiles softly at Y/N before turning to look at Reiko and then back at Y/N once again.
— "Aww…~ That's sweet. You're an amazing mother and she's a precious child of yours. I'm really happy for both of you, if anything, I hope everything goes well for Reiko-chan~"
He says in a cheerful tone, seeming genuinely happy and content at their mother-daughter dynamic. He seems to be very happy for the both of them.
Urogi looks around, fascinated by the tropical theme of the resort rooms. He can't help but take in how gorgeous and beautiful the interior of their rooms was.
— "Woah, look at this place! It's so beautiful and tropical in here, it makes me wish that I could spend the rest of my life here…"
Urogi says with a huge smile on his face, admiring the room's design and thinking of how peaceful it would be to rest here forever.
Y/N is also impressed by the design of the resort rooms, looking around with a smile as she gazes at the colorful decorations and tropical-themed interior.
— "This place is beautiful~ I could get used to staying here.."
She says in a cheerful tone as she puts Reiko down, walking over to a desk that seems to be in the corner of the room to check out what kind of amenities they had access to.
— "This place seems to have everything that we could possibly need..~"
Seeing Karaku laying down and relaxing on the bed, Urogi chuckles softly and walks over to the next bed, laying down and relaxing himself. He sighs happily and stretches out his body, feeling comfortable from the soft and supple mattress.
— "Ahh….~ So soft~ This is so comfy…"
Urogi says in an impressed tone as he relaxes on the bed, seemingly happy and appreciative of the design, as it was quite calming. He then closes his eyes, letting himself rest for a while.
Y/N takes the bed next to Karaku and puts Reiko down on her bed, making sure that both of them are comfortable before she goes to her bed as well. She then lays down on it, sighing in relief after taking a break from carrying Reiko. She then looks over to Reiko, smiling at her.
— "Are you comfortable, Reiko-chan..?"
Y/N asks in a soft and gentle tone, hoping that the girl will be comfortable on the bed she was laying on.
"Me comfortable, thank you mummy!"
Sekido was busy looking at the menu that was next to a telephone. It was use for calling in to order some foods from the kitchen.
Karaku turns his head to look at Sekido, curious about what he was doing now.
— "What are you doing, Sekido?~"
He asks in an upbeat and cheerful tone, still laying on his bed and looking at Sekido.
Aizetsu sits on a chair, resting and relaxing himself after the stressful day he had. He looks over at Sekido and listens to their conversation with a downcast expression, his gaze focused on the two demons.
— "Ah…~ Don't you think that we deserve a bit of a break after what we just went through..?~"
He says in a calm and collected tone, wanting to relax himself a bit after experiencing the stressful and depressing day he had. He then sighs, leaning back on the chair and closing his eyes.
— "I agree, Aizetsu-san.."
Sekido turns his attention back to the menu and thinks of what food he would order for himself. He then leans forward and picks up the telephone, calling the number on the menu.
— "Hello, we… er… would like to order some food, please."
He says in a calm and collected tone, not wanting to raise his voice in the slightest as there were many sleeping demons in the room. He then continues to look at the menu, eagerly waiting for a response.
Aizetsu is also thinking of what kind of food he wants to eat, thinking about the many dishes that are available.
— "Hmm…~ There are so many options…~"
He says in a quiet tone, still leaning back in his chair as he stares at the menu.
— "Maybe…~ I could have some udon…~ or some sushi…~"
He says in a calm and collected tone, sounding hesitant as to what he wanted to order for himself.
Sekido listens to Aizetsu's thoughts and chimes in.
— "Yeah, there are quite a few choices…~"
He replies in a gentle and calm tone, looking at Aizetsu and nodding as he agrees with him. He continues looking at the menu, deciding which dish he might order.
— "Ahh, I think I'll just have a bowl of udon as well!~ It seems pretty refreshing and easy to eat, and we need a break after the stressful day we had.~"
Aizetsu nods and gives a slight smile to Sekido as he agrees with him.
— "Exactly…~ Udon seems quite refreshing after all of this…"
He sighs deeply, his expression still downcast as he ponders about what to order for himself as well.
— "…and maybe some sushi too…~"
He adds with a bit of a hesitant expression, not sure if what he chose was the right decision or not.
Karaku perks up as he hears Sekido's comment.
— "Hmmm?~ Did you say udon and sushi?~"
He asks in a cheerful tone with a raised eyebrow, seeming interested in their meal choice.
— "I think that sounds perfect to go along with the relaxing atmosphere we have right now~"
He says with a slight smile as he sits up, seeming eager for the food to arrive already.
Seeing Karaku sit up, excited about the food that they will soon be eating, Aizetsu smiles at him. He seems happy that the demons are enjoying their break after everything they just went through.
— "Yes, udon and sushi seems perfect…~ And it seems that there are some side dishes we can eat as well~"
As he says this, the thought of food makes his stomach rumble, and he feels hungry again from just thinking about it.
Urogi's stomach also growls loudly as the thought of food suddenly pops up into his mind. It seems like the thought of food was contagious, as he sits up slowly, stretching his arms out to the side. He then looks over at Y/N and Karaku with a big smile as he waits for the food they ordered.
— "Yummy udon and sushi~ How nice~"
Urogi says in a cheerful and happy tone, eager to eat the udon and sushi that they just ordered.
"Yummmyyyyy~"
Karaku says excitedly, seeming very happy that they will soon be eating food. He leans back on the bed with a relaxed expression and sighs softly, seeming eager for the food to arrive already.
— "I just hope that we will not disturb anyone else in the rooms.~"
He says in a concerned tone as he looks around, wanting to make sure that nobody else is disturbed while they are eating.
Y/N smiles softly as she hears Karaku express his excitement and joy for the food that they had ordered. She then leans in closer to Karaku as he lays back on the bed, purring softly as well as Karaku's gentle words comfort her. It seems like Karaku's relaxing attitude is rubbing off onto her as well.
— "Aww~…~ Everything here is so peaceful and relaxing~"
Y/N says in a gentle and content tone, as she is feeling calm and content by simply being next to Karaku.
Urogi smiles at Y/N as she lays closer to Karaku, seeming happy that she is enjoying her time with everyone. He looks around and waits for the food to arrive, thinking that it has already been quite a while.
— "Agreed…~ Everything right now is peaceful and relaxing…~ It's a nice change of pace to enjoy peace rather than being constantly under stress all the time~"
Urogi says in a calm and collected tone, sighing lightly after. He then closes his eyes, patiently waiting for the food to arrive.
Y/N leans in and buries her head into Karaku's shoulder as he scratches her ears, purring softly as he does so.
— "Mmm..~…~ Karaku-san, your scratches are really nice..!~…~"
She says in a purring and content tone, seeming to enjoy the moment a lot. She then looks up at Karaku, smiling softly as she looks up at him.
— "Thank you, Karaku-san..~ You always know just how to comfort me..!~"
Karaku smiles gently, as he pets Y/N and continues to scratch her ears.
— "It's no problem, Y/N…~ I love making you feel happy and relaxed~"
He says in a gentle tone, leaning down a bit so that he is at the same height level as Y/N.
— "I'm glad to hear you like my scratches~"
He says jokingly, chuckling a bit as he says this.
Aizetsu is still sitting on the chair, looking at the other demons while waiting for the food to arrive. His mood slowly starts to shift to that of depression and sadness as he starts to get lost in his thoughts again.
— "O-Oh…~ Um…~ When is the food coming…~?"
He asks in a quiet and dejected tone, having remembered that they ordered food for everyone a while ago.
Sekido looks over to Aizetsu and chuckles softly.
— "Oh, right, the food we ordered!~ Um, the food should be here soon…"
He says in a calm and unbothered tone, sounding positive that the food will arrive quickly.
— "…I mean, they usually don't take this long to make meals for demons…~"
He then shrugs his shoulders with a smile, seeming unbothered by the wait for the food.
Urogi yawns and lays back on the bed, rolling onto his side and staring up at the ceiling.
— "Hmm…~ The wait is quite long, huh..?"
He says in a bored tone, as he waits for the food to arrive. He seems uninterested in the wait, wanting to hurry things up already.
— "… I wonder when the food is coming…~"
His eyes move around, as he looks around for any signs that the food may be there already.
— "I agree, it is strange how long the food is taking…~ um, I know this might sound dumb but, are we sure that we ordered it?~"
Sekido says in a curious and questioning tone, still laying down on the bed.
— "It's just that it has been quite a large amount of time since we placed the order…"
He says with a questioning expression, wanting some reassurance that the food is actually going to get there soon.
Karaku notices Reiko rolling off the bed and hurting herself, looking over at her.
— "Reiko-Chan!~ Are you alright?"
He asks with concern, sitting up and turning around to look at Reiko.
— "Did you hurt yourself while rolling off the bed?"
He asks this with a worried tone, wanting to make sure that Reiko is alright.
Sekido rushes over and kneels down next to Reiko when he hears her crying.
— "Reiko-chan!~ Don't cry!~ Are you hurt?~"
He asks with concern, sounding a little worried when he sees Reiko crying.
— "Did you bump your head?~ Come, let us take a look and see what happened~"
He says in a gentle tone, trying to calm Reiko down and check if she is injured at all.
Karaku also stands up next to Sekido and kneels down next to Reiko as well.
— "Aw, Reiko-Chan…~ Don't cry…~ You should be happy!~"
He says in a gentle tone just like Sekido's, sounding concerned when he sees Reiko crying as well.
— "Please, calm down…~ Let's check if you're injured and make you feel better, alright?~"
He says this with a soft and soothing tone, trying to comfort and cheer up Reiko from her crying.
Y/N immediately stands up from the bed after she seeing Reiko pointing to the boo boo on her head.
— "Oh my!~ Reiko-chan~"
She says in a worried tone as she approaches Reiko, checking where the boo boo is.
— "Here, lemme see, Reiko-chan~."
Y/N says this in a concerned and caring tone, wanting to make sure that Reiko is okay. She then kneels down next to the child and carefully examines the boo boo on her head.
Aizetsu looks over and sees Y/N tending to Reiko's boo boo, purring as she does so.
— "Aw~ She's so cute~!"
Aizetsu says with a soft smile as he watches Y/N kiss Reiko's boo boo.
— "I see…~ She got a little boo boo on her head…~"
He says in a concerned and slightly worried tone, as he looks between Y/N and Reiko with his head slightly tilted.
Aizetsu looks over and sees Reiko with a look of love for Y/N, seeming happy and content.
— "Reiko-Chan loves her mother~"
Aizetsu says in a soft and cute tone, smiling gently as he watches the two.
— "And it seems like her mother loves Reiko-Chan very much~"
He says this while pointing to Y/N, smiling happily as he points out the love between the two of them.
Y/N smiles softly at Reiko, caressing the child's hair and gently kissing her forehead as she continues to coo at her.
— "Of course~…~ I love you very much, Reiko-chan~…"
She says this to Reiko in a comforting and calming tone, wanting her to know how much she loves her.
— "And you are so adorable~…~!"
She adds in a cheerful and happy tone, thinking about how cute Reiko is and how much she loves the little girl.
Karaku chuckles softly as he sees Sekido looking out of the room in confusion.
— "I wonder what's taking the food so long to get here…~ Why would it be taking so long…~"
He says in a lighthearted tone, but he still sounds a bit puzzled by the long wait for the food.
— "But I'm not complaining, the longer it takes, the more we get to enjoy our relax time together~"
He says with a lighthearted smile, looking over at the other two demons.
Sekido rolls his eyes and groans softly as he hears Karaku's lighthearted tone.
— "Relax time?~ It's almost been an hour since we've ordered!~ I'm getting impatient with this wait, I need my food ASAP!~"
He says with a frustrated tone, sounding a bit impatient and wanting to eat already. He then puts his head down on his folded arms.
— "When is the food ever going to get here…~"
Y/N looks over at Sekido and chuckles softly, finding it amusing that he is still being impatient and frustrated over the wait for the food.
— "It will come soon~…~ I am sure of it!…~ Just be patient~…"
She says this in a calming tone for Sekido to hear, as she also seems relaxed and content with the long wait for the food.
— "Besides, it makes the food taste sweeter when you wait for it…"
She adds in a playful tone, wanting to cheer up Sekido.
Karaku chuckles and tilts his head to side.
— "Hmm…~…~ I wonder why Sekido cares so much about the food that much~"
He says as he leans back on the bed, his expression becoming slightly playful as he starts to joke around.
— "Is it because the food is so delicious?~ Or is it because he's an impatient person~?"
He says in a joking tone, still looking over to Sekido but facing backwards and having his arm behind his head while looking at the ceiling.
Sekido groans softly when he hears his colleagues' comments and questions, seeming annoyed at their joking around. He then looks up from his arms.
— "It's because I'm impatient!~ It's been so long since we ordered, the wait is killing me…~"
He says this in a frustrated tone, looking around for any signs that the food may be arriving soon.
— "…And also, it's because I'm hungry!~"
He adds in a cheerful and happy tone, smiling at the thought of eating the food.
Aizetsu looks over to Sekido and sees him talking in a frustrated tone, seemingly annoyed at the waiting time for the food.
— "Oh, come on now, Sekido~..~ It's nothing to get upset over, we already ordered the food~..~ why don't you relax and try to forget about the food for now~?"
He says this in a gentle tone, hoping to calm down Sekido a little bit.
— "The food will get here eventually, so there's no need to feel so impatient~."
— "Hmm…~ But that's the issue, Aizetsu, my good friend~"
Karaku says with his usual smug expression, seeming to want to make a clever comeback here.
— "What's one gonna do to get rid of their boredom~ when they are waiting for the food to arrive~?~?"
He asks this with a lighthearted and playful tone, seeming to be having fun teasing Aizetsu and Sekido about their impatience.
Sekido looks over at a briefcase, noticing that it is out of place in here.
— "Huh?~ This wasn't here before."
He says in a puzzled tone as he stares at the briefcase in this newly appeared spot. He then turns to look at the other demons as well.
— "Did anyone put this here?~ Did one of you put this briefcase here?"
He asks this with a concerned and surprised look on his face, waiting for one of the other demons to reply.
Urogi was the first to stand up, going over to the briefcase and kneeling down so he could get a closer look at it.
— "This is pretty strange…~ How would this have gotten here?"
He says with a curious and slightly confused tone, looking at the other demons as he tries to figure out how the briefcase got itself in this room and why.
Sekido stares at the briefcase with interest as well, trying to look over it to figure out what it is.
— "It really is strange isn't it…~"
He asks this in a curious tone as he kneels down next to Urogi and looks over the briefcase as well.
— "Huh, maybe the food was supposed to be inside of this?~"
He says this as an idea to figure out why the briefcase magically appeared here.
Aizetsu's curiosity is piqued when Y/N goes over to the briefcase and opens it to see a note inside.
— "Oh?~"
He says while looking over at Y/N.
— "What does it say?"
He asks this with a curious tone, wanting to know what the note says inside of it.
Karaku walks over to the briefcase as well, kneels down and looks inside, seeming interested on seeing what the note says.
— "Ah, what do we have here ~?"
He says, sounding a little intrigued and a little happy to see that there is something new going on to make things interesting.
Urogi crouches down, peering over at Y/N's shoulder to see what the note says as well, still sounding as curious and interested as Karaku is.
— "What does it say~?"
He asks this with a slightly excited tone, wanting to know what the note says.
— "This case is so strange…~"
He says this, looking at the briefcase with a puzzled and curious expression.
Karaku looks over at Y/N and sees her tears on her eyes, immediately being concerned and worried.
— "Huh?~ Y/N?~ Are you alright~?"
He says this with a worried tone, looking at her as he tilts his head to the side.
— "Y/N?~ What's wrong~?"
He continues, sounding more concerned and worried as he steps closer to her, wanting to comfort her and understand what is troubling her.
Sekido sees Y/N's tears and is noticeably concerned.
— "Y/N…~ Is something troubling you?~"
He says this with a slightly worried tone, sounding concerned as he kneels next to Y/N and looks at her.
— "Or is it…~ Is that…"
He stops talking when he sees the note, recognizing that it is from Y/N's father and not wanting to bring up a sad topic for her.
Reiko looked up at Y/N. She was concerned as well
"Mummy, what happened?"
Aizetsu sees Reiko and looks at Y/N, realizing what happened to her and why she's crying.
— "Reiko-chan, there's nothing for you to worry about, mommy just got a letter from her papa."
He says this with a soft and gentle tone, trying to comfort both Reiko and Y/N as he sits on the bed next to Reiko and pats Reiko's head with one hand. He then looks at Y/N.
— "Y/N, you don't have to cry. It's okay, really.."
Karaku looks over to Reiko, seeing her in a state of concern as well. He walks over to Reiko and kneels to be closer to her height while looking at her.
— "Hey, Reiko-Chan. It's alright, Y/N is just a little teary eyed because of a note from her father, it doesn't mean there's anything bad."
He says this with a gentle tone and a smile on his face as he looks at Reiko in an attempt to reassure her.
Y/N looks up from the letter at the other demons, and she still has tears in her eyes and a sad expression on her face. She seems overwhelmed as she keeps crying and tries to hide the letter.
— "N-No one read this letter please…."
She says this in a broken and sniffling voice, wanting everyone to keep quiet as she continues to sob and hides the letter with her hands.
Urogi gets up, and walks over to Y/N.
— "Hey now, don't cry~…"
He says this with a soft and calming tone, sitting next to Y/N with his wing draped over her shoulder and his arm around her in an attempt to comfort her.
— "What is it?~ Why are you crying?"
He asks this gently, looking over at the letter with a worried expression and trying to not make her feel pressured to tell anyone what the note says.
Aizetsu notices Y/N get a little nervous at the other demons getting closer to her, wanting to keep quiet about the note.
— "Y/N, don't worry~…~ We won't read the note~..~ We can comfort you by just sitting here with you~…"
He reassures her, sounding gentle and caring. He also sits with Urogi, being right next to Y/N, and he wraps his wing around her as well, hugging her tightly and holding her close to comfort her.
Urogi looks over at Aizetsu and smiles, agreeing with his statement and showing his support for Y/N.
— "Exactly, we just want to support you and comfort you.~…"
He says this with a gentle tone, keeping his arm wrapped around Y/N's shoulder as he wraps his wing around her as well, gently rocking her back and forth and stroking her hair as if he were comforting a child.
Sekido notices the nichirin blade that was inside the briefcase, which was clearly meant for Y/N.
— "A new nichirin blade~"
He says this with a hint of surprise in his tone, looking at the brand new nichirin blade inside the briefcase.
— "Y/N, I believe this nichirin blade is for you, isn't it?"
He asks this in a calm and polite tone as he gently takes the nichirin blade out of the briefcase and gets up, approaching Y/N to give it to her.
Y/N looks up at Sekido in surprise.
— "What?~ No way, it's for me~!"
She says with a wide and happy smile as if it was a gift she had gotten for her birthday or something special.
— "But…~ How did this get in the briefcase?~"
She asks with a slightly confused tone, looking at the briefcase as she wonders who put that there and who would've thought that she needed a new nichirin blade as well.
Reiko sat on her mother's lap. Looking at the blade.
"Its so shiny and pretty!!"
— "Yes..~ It looks like a perfect sword to use~!"
Karaku says this with a smile, looking at both Reiko and the new nichirin blade from the briefcase. His tone sounds enthusiastic as he says this, as if he is interested in seeing what kind of great abilities this new sword will have for Y/N to use.
Y/N nods softly and sits up, looking at the new nichirin blade while still in a sad and emotional state.
— "Yes…~ It looks like a truly powerful and well-made sword…"
She says this with a serious and confident tone now, still sounding sad but seeming to look at the new sword with a bit of interest.
— "It might even be better than the sword I lost and make up for it…"
She adds this with a hopeful tone, her voice sounding much less sad now when talking about the new sword.
Urogi continues comforting Y/N by holding his wing over her shoulder, gently caressing her hair and head with his free hand.
— "Yes, a perfect sword to use by a powerful Human slayer like yourself~…"
He says this with a cheerful tone as he pats her head.
— "With this new sword, you will surpass what you've accomplished before~…~"
He adds this with a slightly confident and proud tone, believing that Y/N will be even better than before thanks to this new nichirin blade.
"He's right."
A voice was heard from behind.
Everyone looks over and is surprised to see someone or something behind them.
— "Huh?~ Who's there?"
Aizetsu says this while looking directly behind him, sounding somewhat perplexed by this unexpected voice.
"Don't worry. It's only me."
Kokushibo walked inside of the room.
Urogi looks behind him and his eyes widen in surprise as he sees Kokushibo.
— "Kokushibo-sama~?"
He says with a surprised tone, glancing at the other demons.
— "Is..~ Is everything fine~?"
He asks this while still looking at Kokushibo in confusion, wanting to know why he has suddenly decided to appear.
"Lord Kokushibo!"
Y/N stands up from the bed and quickly goes over to Kokushibo, looking up at him while bowing down to him in respect.
— "It's been so long, sir."
She says this in a calm and respectful tone, still showing the same respect that she did to Kokushibo during her time in the aftermath of the mugen train.
"Oh please. That was only a few days. I just came over just to see on how you were all doing.."
Kokushibo glanced over at the nichirin sword.
"I see that you have found your father's most valuable treasure, Y.N."
Urogi looks to the side at Y/N as he sees her bow down to Kokushibo and call him 'Lord Kokushibo' with respect. He then looks over to Kokushibo and listens intently to what he has to say.
— "Yes, Kokushibo-sama~…"
He says this with a smile, seemingly pleased to see Kokushibo again.
— "The sword looks absolutely stunning~!"
He adds this with a happy tone, looking to both Kokushibo and the newly acquired nichirin blade.
Kokushibo gently sat himself down on bed
"Your father was one of the most greatest Swordsmiths. He crafted the sword with some of the most rarest materials he could find.. Not only was it to be use as a weapon.. But it was a gift for his future generations to be pass down onto.. That person is you.. Y/N. Ever since your father died, He made sure that his own creation will be in perfect hands."
Karaku walks up next to Kokushibo and looks over at the newly acquired nichirin blade, having been intrigued ever since its mention. His face looks impressed and pleased by the idea that it came from a world-renowned swordsmith as well as it being an irreplaceable family treasure.
— "Your father truly was a legendary swordsmith, then. That sword is truly something remarkable~"
He says this with a proud and happy tone, seeming to look in awe of the sword's beauty and craftsmanship, along with its preciousness and sentimental value.
Y/N's sad expression is slowly wiped away by Kokushibo's words, being filled with gratitude and happiness as she smiles softly and nods.
— "Thank you so much, Kokushibo-sama.."
She says this as she is still bowing to him.
— "If my father trusted me with it, then I'll do my best to keep being worthy of it from now on…~"
Her voice sounds somewhat saddened by the thought of her father not being around anymore, but she tries her best to not be too emotional for the moment.
Kokushibo looked over at Reiko. He thought about how something. He pulled out a much more secured carriable box
"Here. Use it to keep the young one safe. it is much more secured and protected than the last box you used."
Y/N looks at the new and improved box, seeming impressed and pleased by it. She then looks back to Kokushibo with a slightly grateful look and nods again.
— "Yes, thank you so much, Kokushibo-sama.."
She says this as she continues to look at the much improved box, seeming to think that it is really something impressive. Her voice sounds a little thankful to Kokushibo for giving her this new and better box to protect Reiko.
Urogi was impressed by the safer box that Kokushibo pulled out, seeming quite pleased by it. He looks back up at Kokushibo and nods back at him with a smile.
— "Yes, this is an impressive and protective looking box, Kokushibo-sama~!"
The smile on his face widens, as he seems genuinely happy to finally have another box for Reiko that is actually safer than the last one. His tone sounds appreciative and grateful to Kokushibo.
Sekido notices that Y/N is happy about the new box Kokushibo pulled out for Reiko. He looks over at it to see what looks to be a very protective and protective box and his expression quickly changes.
— "I've never seen a more secure box to protect Reiko before…~ It is quite impressive~"
He says this with a slight tone of jealousy and amazement in his voice, looking straight at Kokushibo and glaring at him slightly. His tone sounds slightly annoyed as he comments on the box.
— "I'm sure, Reiko will be happy and safe in this much better box~…"
Karaku says this with a slightly smug look, smiling and looking at the new box that looks so much better than the last one.
— "No other box could even compare to this one~"
His tone sounds quite smug at this point, seeming to look down just a little bit at Sekido’s annoyance for this new and improved box.
Urogi watches as Y/N gently puts Reiko inside of the new box, seeming slightly concerned and anxious as she does this. His expression softens as they he notices this.
— "Does she fit inside it alright?~"
He asks this with a hint of worry in his voice, wanting to make sure that Reiko is safe in the new box.
"She's safe, Urogi. No need to worry."
Y/N says this while looking back at them and closing the box, seeming to try to reassure them. Her tone sounds hopeful and confident that her daughter is safe and comfortable inside of the new box.
Kokushibo then stood up. He was ready to tell them the news
"You all have a mission soon."
Y/N looks at Kokushibo and stops rocking Reiko in the box, seeming a bit surprised to hear that they're about to be sent to a new mission.
— "A mission?~ Well, thank you. I am sure me and my demon friends are more than ready for it.."
She says this with a grateful tone, seeming ready to learn more about the mission that they will be participating in soon.
Karaku's eyes light up in anticipation and excitement at hearing the good news of possible action, as he was getting bored from the down time they were having.
— "Ooh!~ That is great news!~ I was getting so bored in here, that I was already about to ask you all about our next mission~!"
His tone sounds excited and happy as he speaks, waiting for Kokushibo to tell them more about the mission.
Aizetsu continues to rock Reiko back and forth in the box, seeming to be listening to Kokushibo.
— "A mission?~ That is wonderful to hear, Kokushibo-sama~! I am certain that me and the other three manifestations will do our best to help on it~.."
His tone sounds optimistic and calm as he says this, seemingly looking forward to the mission already and being ready for it.
"Dont get your hopes to high. This mission is unlike any others that you dealt with."
Kokushibo said sternly.
Y/N is the first one in the group so far to show a slight bit of uneasiness about this mission.
— "Oh…~"
The expression on her face changes to one of slight worry and uneasiness.
— "Does the mission involve something much more difficult than the usual ones?"
She says this with a concerned tone, as if she is not confident about the outcome and survival of this mission since it seems to be a much more serious one based on Kokushibo's wording.
Aizetsu looks at her, his usually calm expression changing to one of worry as well. He rocks Reiko back and forth in the box.
— "It might be dangerous, Y/N..~"
He says this with a bit of concern, sounding serious and stern as well, possibly implying that the incoming mission will be a lot worse than normal. He then looks at Kokushibo, awaiting further explanation on how dangerous it actually is and what can be expected of it, if anything at all.
— "A very dangerous mission. ~ A mission that we may not make it back from~.."
Karaku said this with a tone that sounds serious and concerning, as if this mission might not be worth doing.
— "As this is a mission from our lord himself, we must abide."
He says this in a way that shows clear loyalty to Kokushibo, seemingly not having a choice in the matter if their lord commands them to go on a dangerous mission.
— "Hmm..~ Very well, then. If this is what our Lord Kokushibo commands, then it's what we'll do.."
Sekido said this with a slight sigh, looking slightly worried about the mission but still holding to his loyalty and being ready to follow their lord's orders.
— "Is there anything else we need to know about this mission, Kokushibo-sama?"
He says this with a slightly concerned tone, wanting to know more about the mission and how dangerous it will really be.
"Yes. This mission consists of two Hashiras. One which uses Poison breathing, The other uses Koi breathing. Both powerful. Both dangerous to us, Demons.. Especially the poison one..."
— "Ah.. I see..~"
Aizetsu looks down slightly, possibly worried about this mission as well considering that it involves two powerful Hashiras.
— "Poison and Koi, eh..~?"
Aizetsu speaks again to Kokushibo with a calm tone, seeming to know of these two specific breathings and their users.
Y/N seems quite worried herself after hearing all of this. As she heard about the two Hashiras that they will be going up against, her worry seems to increase.
— "Two powerful Hashiras…~ This doesn't sound good, especially when I've heard about them before…~"
She says this as her tone changes to one of worry while she continues to watch Reiko inside of the box carefully.
"Yes. It's a matter of fact that their info's are connected to you Y/N. Supposedly.. You met them before you turned into a demon... They were your friends.. Weren't they?"
Karaku's eyes widen a bit in response to this information.
— "Friends?~ They were her friends, before she became a demon~?"
He asks this with a slightly surprised and shocked look, seeming to look at Y/N with a small degree of curiosity now.
— "This is certainly a turn of events!"
He says this with a small smile, looking at her curiously now. He seems to be wondering if she remembers her time as a human or if all her past memories are forgotten now.
Sekido suddenly speaks up and looks at Y/N with intense curiosity in his eyes, even leaning forward towards her a bit.
— "What?~ You were once a human?~ And these two Hashira people were your friends?~ How interesting…~"
He says this with a serious tone and an intrigued smile on his face. He doesn't seem to believe that Y/N once used to be a human as he is looking at her with doubt and curiosity, seeming interested in knowing more about her past self.
There is a small flashback in Y/N's eyes, as she seems to be remembering something. She looks back up at them and nods.
— "Yes..they were once my friends…~"
Her tone sounds a bit sad as she says this, remembering her past when she could still feel happy and had not turned into a demon.
— "However, all of my memories as a human have been locked away deep inside of my consciousness…"
She says this sadly, sounding a bit saddened by never being able to remember those memories again.
"It is hard to remember... As a demon, we were force to forget everything.. Until a spark of light reaches us.. The two were your "friends".. But due to who you are now.. There is no possibility that they will ever spare you.. No one spare us demons..."
She looks down, seeming sad about this reality she is now in.
— "It is a sad fate, but it's true… No one gives us demons a second chance at life…"
She says this with a bit of sorrow in her voice, seeming to think about her position as demon now and the reality of her situation.
— "…Do you think they remember me still?~"
Y/N looks up at the group and asks this sounding hopeful and wanting to know if they still remember her.
"It is a chance that they will. But they would likely kill you in the end..."
Aizetsu sighs a little and nods at this reality.
— "Yes, you're right about that. Even if they remember you, it doesn't mean they'll spare you. Even demons have no chance of redemption in the eyes of the demon slayers."
He says this with a calm tone, keeping it real and showing how reality is for demons and demon slayers, even if their past selves were friends.
Karaku nods at this, agreeing with Aizetsu's thoughts
— "That is true. Once you're a demon, all hope of redemption is already lost. It doesn't matter if you knew each other or not. Demon slayers kill all demons no exceptions."
He says with a slight amount of regret, sounding slightly sad that there was no chance for redemption even if they were once friends.
Y/N nods her head again at this.
— "Yes..~ That is true..~ Even if we once knew each other in the past, it would still be their duty to kill me…~"
She speaks this with a slight bit of regret, still not fully comprehending having to kill her past friends due to the situation she is now in as a demon.
Sekido gets slightly frustrated by this.
— "Damn it, demon slayers always ruin things for us……"
He seems to hate them even more now, speaking with irritation in his voice.
— "Just because they think demons are all evil, doesn't mean they all are!"
He says this in a angry and upset tone, sounding like a child that didn't get their way due to demon slayers not allowing anything to go their way as demons, even if they have potential for redemption.
Karaku looks up with a disappointed face, it seems he shares Sekido's opinion about demon slayers
— "It's a shame, they don't consider the possibility that some demons are not all evil and evil at heart…~"
He says with some slight irritation and frustration in his voice. He is not a fan of demon slayers in the slightest.
— "There is always a chance for redemption!~ Even if it's only small, it's still a chance! Yet, because of this, demon slayers believe that every demon is evil without a doubt.."
Y/N follows Urogi's gaze and checks on Reiko inside the box.
— "Reiko's fine. ~"
Her voice sounds relieved and pleased as she speaks this, making sure that her daughter is safe and comfortable in the improved box that Kokushibo just gave them.
Urogi smiles down at Y/N and Reiko.
— "You did a good job, Y/N. Reiko looks happy and at peace…"
He says this with a small smile, happy that Reiko seems to be enjoying herself in the new box and is safe.
— "…Let us prepare ourselves…~ It is time we go."
He says this with a serious tone, seemingly getting ready for the mission, as everyone else around the group starts to prepare for it as well.
Kokushibo stood up.
"As always. This mission is only for you guys, I would not take part. But I will return to see if everything's okay. Got it?"
Sekido nods at this.
— "Yes, understood, Kokushibo-sama…~ This mission is for us only, and you shall go back and wait for us to return."
His voice sounds serious and respectful as he answers Kokushibo's question, seeming to be completely ready for this mission now.
Karaku turns back to Y/N and sees her worried face. He looks down at her with a small smile and speaks to her gently.
— "Hey, there, Y/N..~ Don't be worried, alright..?~ We can do this..~ We are demons after all~!"
He says this in a soft tone, smiling at her and seeming to want to cheer her up even just a bit before they leave to start the mission.
Aizetsu looks at Karaku and smiles slightly. He still seems worried, but he keeps a calm demeanor.
— "Yes. We can do this. We are demons.~ We can easily take out those two, especially since they are only human."
He says this with a slight degree of confidence and optimism, despite the danger and risk of the mission that they are about to go on.
Karaku smiles a bit back and seems to enjoy the company of his fellow demons, sounding a bit more optimistic about the situation as well.
— "That's the spirit!~ That's why we are the Upper Moons, right~?~ There's no way we'll mess anything up~!!"
He says this while sounding like he's trying to put up a confidence and courageous mask to hide his worries and fears. He was quite worried about this mission, as if he had already known what was to come and how dangerous it could possibly be.
Urogi was also a little worried for the mission ahead, but he still seemed to have slightly more confidence than Sekido and Karaku.
— "Exactly!~ As demons, we should have no problem with some mere humans!~ We will finish this mission, and the other two shall be none the wiser~! After all, we have the blood of demons…~"
He says this with a smirk, sounding a little cocky as he talks about the task ahead. He was confident and believed that they would be able to complete the mission no problem.
Y/N was a little nervous about facing her past friends, but she wanted to hold onto hope that they would at least recognize her and spare her life.
Y/N looks back at everyone else and nods as she keeps Reiko in the box, ready to go on the mission that is coming up.
— "Yes. Let us head out, we shouldn't waste anymore time…~"
She says this with seriousness and determination in her voice, sounding like she is ready to take on the challenge coming up ahead.
— "…I..~ Just hope that my past friends recognize me…~"
She says this with a bit of concern and uncertainty in her voice, seeming to not know what would happen if they do or do not recognize her.
— "Even if they don't recognize you at first…~ I'm sure that they'll understand and spare your life once they know that you are no longer one of them..~ Your memories of your past human self may still be sealed away,~ but they'll likely spare you out of pity regardless.."
Aizetsu looks over at Y/N and smiles gently at her. He was confident that even if they don't recognize Y/N at first, once they know that she's a demon, they will spare her life due to pity.
Urogi nods, a bit nervous for the mission, but still believing that they would complete it successfully. He smiles at Y/N.
— "Yes, Y/N, even if they don't recognize you at first, they'll most likely spare you once they know the truth…~ That's just how it is, even with demon slayers.."
He says this as he looks over at her, seeming slightly worried but still trying to remain calm as they prepare to leave.
Karaku nods as well.
— "We will see how this mission works out…~ Hopefully, there will be no trouble at all and we can complete this mission safely and quickly…"
He says this in a calm and collected tone, sounding like he's just waiting for the mission to be over so he can go back to having fun and relaxing, as a demon should do.
Reiko was asleep in the improved box, looking peaceful and comfortable in it. Y/N was a bit worried about her daughter's safety, but she also hoped that her friends would at least spare them due to her now being a demon.
— "Please…~" Y/N says this quietly and slowly, looking down at the box where Reiko was currently sleeping in.
— "Please, be safe…" Y/N seems quite worried about her daughter's well-being considering the situation that they were in now.
Sekido sees Y/N looking worried about her daughter Reiko and speaks to her in a calm voice to try to comfort and reassure her.
— "Please don't worry, Y/N. Reiko is safe, and she'll stay safe throughout this mission."
He says this in a calm tone, looking over at the box where Reiko was sleeping peacefully. He looks back at Y/N with a reassuring smile.
Urogi smiles reassuringly at Y/N as he looks at the box where Reiko was still asleep peacefully.
— "I'm sure that Reiko will be alright!~ She's safe in the box and we will protect her."
He says this with a tone of confidence and optimism, trying to reassure Y/N that they would be able to keep Reiko safe and protect her throughout this mission.

Heyy!!
I'm new to your blog and wanted to request some headcanons for Ace, Marco and Shanks with a gn! so who is asexual? Like just how they would react and deal with it.
Thank you if you accept!! <3
Welcome!! I’m pretty new to this too so bare with me. I’m starting to understand headcanons more and I enjoy writing them so thanks! I didn’t know much about asexual orientation so I had to do a little bit of research, but I’m glad I learned something new today :)
Tumblr media
Ace
•Ace will be confused at first, and ask you to elaborate. He had heard of it before but did not completely understand what it meant to be asexual.
•Once you explain it to him, he’ll nod his head and think for a moment. He’ll assure you that he has no problem with it and he still loves you no matter what.
•He’ll probably be more encouraged to make you feel loved, and won’t initiate sexual activity in order to respect your boundaries/wishes.
“I’m glad you told me Y/n. I’ll always love you!”
•It’ll also probably raise his confidence a little, that you’d still love him without sexual desire.
Overall, fireboy is still learning but he’s trying his best to understand and make sure you’re comfortable. <33
Tumblr media
Marco
•Marco immediately understands what you mean, he’s much more aware of these things than Ace is. (lmao)
•Non-chalante about it.
•Marco will be happy that you felt comfortable enough to open up and tell him about your orientation. If he had any worry about your comfort with him before, it’s all out the window now. (He won’t say that though, will keep it to himself.)
•He’ll spend more time planning dates and romantic gestures. From a nice dinner to a calm night under the stars, gazing.
•He’ll kiss your forehead as a way to assure you that he doesn’t think any different of you.
Tumblr media
Shanks
•Shanks, much like Ace, will also be confused. But while Ace has some kind of idea of sexual orientation, Shanks is clueless. He’s more of a ‘do whatever you want’ like the pirate free spirit. That includes love and attraction.
•You’ll have to explain the whole thing to him, why you told him. Some of the reasons being that you just wanted him to know, another being that sometimes people just don’t respect the idea of asexuality.
•Shanks of course is completely understanding and tells you that you don’t have to worry about that with him. He wants his lover to feel free doing what ever they wish.
•Shanks wont make any sexual advances, and will go with the flow if you initiate anything.
•Will cuddle you a lot more, like, ALOT.
“I love you, y/n.” He said as he softly kissed your forehead
“About those people.. if anyone bothers you about it just tell me, alright darlin’?”
I tried my best, I’ll admit I didn’t do as good as I’d hoped but I’ll get better the more I write :)
Hope you enjoyed these! <33

Chapter Ten/Epilogue
The ending, and the resolutions that are wont to accompany
Our Treasure - Jim Hawkins x fem!Reader
Chapter Nine, masterpost
Word count: 923
Summary: after having wrapped up your lose threads, you meet Jim’s mother.
Notes: literally just the ending resolutions, short n sweet (I hope). Thanks to everyone who stuck with this the whole way, I hope you had as much fun reading as I did writing! If you did, please leave feedback, comments, likes, etc and whatever, your support means a lot to me. This is also on my AO3 if anyone wants to check it out there or help me out on that platform, again, it’s hugely appreciated.
Jim was the first off the ship when you finally docked, dragging you through the crowds by the hand. You had talked to him, between kissing him a great deal and being kissed an equally great deal, and around said kisses you had explained everything. How John had gotten wind of the Map years back in some seedy tavern, how you’d tracked and followed Billy Bones halfway across the Galaxy, how you really hadn’t meant to burn down his mom’s inn, and how you’d gotten on the crew for the RSL Legacy through some of the most elaborate string-pulling you’d ever witnessed John perform.
“But how did you know?” Jim asked here.
“String-pulling,” you shrugged. You were slouched against the wall of the galley, your side pressed against his and his arm around your shoulders. He simply shook his head in wonder, allowing you to continue your tale.
Now, having laid out the whole sordid ordeal, you found that a great weight had been lifted from your shoulders. Jim knew you cared, you knew he cared, all was in the clear now. It was a wonderful feeling. Silently, you promised that you would never lie to him again. But your future honesty was not the only thing on your mind as you were lead through the bustling space port by the boy currently holding your hand and glancing back at you every few seconds. You didn’t know how you were ever going to find Mrs Hawkins in the crowd.
But, somehow, after only a few minutes, Jim pointed to a woman wearing a yellow bonnet with blue ribbons and a white shawl. “That’s her,” he said, leading you towards her. He reached out a hand and laid it gently on her shoulder, smiling as she turned.
“Jim,” she gasped, then hugged him tightly.
You stepped back, suddenly incredibly awkward. You fiddled with the hem of your shirt, scuffing one foot on the ground while you waited. What you’d said to Jim the night he’d saved your life (the first time, that was) was true, mothers were a strange concept to you. Many times you’d seen young travellers disembarking at various locations across the galaxy to be met with warm embraces and smiles from older women who looked like them, but you’d never had one of your own. The closest you’d ever gotten was John, and you’d never have even considered placing him in a mother’s spot in your mind.
“Mom, there’s someone I want you to meet,” Jim said when they separated, looking over his shoulder at you. You were acutely aware of how dirty you were, how unkempt.
“Hi, Mrs Hawkins.” You smiled, trying your hardest not to let your nerves turn it into a grimace as you extended a hand. “I’m (Y/N).”
“Please, call me Sarah.” She took your hand, shaking it firmly and smiling. “It’s lovely to meet you.”
Morph found that moment an appropriate time to float up in front of her face, giggling at her shocked expression.
“Morph!” You and Jim exclaimed in unison.
Rebuilding the Benbow Inn was one of the weirdest experiences of your life. Firstly, there was the fact that Sarah still didn’t know – and would hopefully never find out – that you were instrumental in burning it down in the first place. There was the very cherry-picked version of the story about how you got the treasure and why there wasn’t more of it which managed to change every time it was told, as well as the subject of why you were so at home in the ceiling rafters and on the roof, as well as the few times you accidentally threw tools with perfect accuracy to other people when you were helping out. Although it took over a year, you got it done.
You were leaning against the wall, out of the way but with a good view of the room – apparently it would have been impolite to sit in the ceiling – on the night of the opening when the door opened to reveal two robo-cops. The room went silent for a second, then they parted to allow Jim through and everyone cheered.
Your boyfriend smiled, looking resplendent in his space cadet’s uniform. He shook the hands of the two officers, laughing as Morph transformed himself into a badge and took up a place on his shoulder. His eyes scanned the room, and you waved awkwardly from your position. To your horror, he made a B-line straight towards you, drawing everyone’s attention with him, and lightly kissed your cheek.
“Really?” You asked, crossing your arms, “right here?”
“Yeah, where else?” he grinned, and you felt your face heating up. “You’re so cute when you’re embarrassed,” he laughed.
“Shut up,” you muttered, but you were smiling.
The night passed quickly. You found it more fun to watch other people than actually dance or join in with anything yourself, but Jim still managed to spin you around to the music a few times. And maybe, though you’d never admit it, you liked it.
You leaned back against Jim’s chest, his head bent so that his chin rested on your shoulder and his arms folded across your stomach. You decided that nobody was paying attention to you and that you were safe from people’s eyes, so you turned your head and brushed his lips lightly with your own.
“I adore you,” you whispered, smiling.
“Right back at you,” he grinned, then kissed you.
You were glad that Treasure Planet had lead the two of you together.

Pelleas has never been particularly gifted at hiding his emotions, teeming to the brim as they are wont to be. The entire time he's invited himself over to Micaiah's dorm to spend the night, it is clear he is on edge, a bit distracted. He mistakes the feeling at first for fear, nerves on edge as the minutes while away.
Micaiah's going to go to sleep. She likes to meet the dawn. Will he have enough time? It feels like such a doomed prospect; he feels stupid for even trying. She can probably feel all this nervous energy from him, and that could hardly be fun to deal with, he imagines.
Settled into bed with her but completely unsettled, it's when the clock strikes midnight that he at last can let it out.
“ Happy birthday, Micaiah! ”
A beat passes until realization sets in.
“ ...Ah, that came out a bit louder than I anticipated. Sorry, ”  he quickly apologizes, lowering his voice back to a whisper.  “ I was just so nervous, waiting all this time to make sure I didn't mess up the timing of it... I wanted to be the very first one to tell you that this year, worried if I didn't say it then, you'd wake up before me and go out and then somebody else would beat me to it. But now that I think of it, I guess it was a little silly. I'm glad I did it, but... There was a better way to go about it, probably. ”
He sighs but it turns into an awkward laugh.
“ I'm sorry, really ”  Pelleas repeats.  “ I'll let you sleep soon, I promise, but can you hold still for me for a little bit? ”
He climbs out of her bed and reaches for his bag that he had brought his spare change of clothes in, fishing out a hair pin. It is black save for the sight of a tourmaline spider lily decorating it, and when he returns to her, he fumbles as he fixes it into place at the side of her fringe, letting the moonlight catch the gemstones in it.
“ There. My birthday gift to you. I remember you in Midsommar looking at something like this. You said it was cute. ”  He knows it had been in reference to her trying to find an accessory that looked good on him rather than her, but looking at her with it on now, he can't imagine himself comparing at all to her with it.
His expression melts as he does his usual spiel.  “ The spider lily... it's a flower with bad omens. I know I shouldn't have given it to you, knowing that, but most people fear it because it blooms where death does. But do you know why it does that?
“ The spider lily is given to protect someone in death. It's supposed to save you from curses and bad spirits, and it carries with it a hope that when you are reborn, you shall be safe and sound. ”  Death is inevitable, this flower cries, but it still tries valiantly in the face of that.
He rejoins her, sitting down on the edge of her bed.  “ There's a story with it too. I won't tell you all that now, but... I suppose the way you can think of it is that it also is meant to tell your lover, 'I want to run away with you.' ”
He lets that meaning sit with her, worried anything that he said would ruin it. Instead of elaborating on it further, he merely smiles warmly at her, not wishing to wish for too much from her.
“ It really is pretty on you... But anyway, happy birthday again, Micaiah. I'm glad I got to tell you again... ”
For who knows when the last time he'll be able to do so shall be?
Birthdays are a truly unique part of her Garreg Mach experience, as are the many trinkets she has collected in relation: the handmade rose-embroidered cloth and gloves from Elincia, Soren’s bracelet of interlocking birds, as well as Pelleas’s pouch inside of which is the matching ribbon and a few pressed flowers: all are kept inside a wood box Micaiah had bought for herself still only half-believing the need for it. It sits on a shelf beside the journal from Lachesis, near filled now, next to the mysterious “fountain pen” and her favored quill.
Sometimes she gets distracted just looking at them all – she never did know what to think of others’ admiration of material possessions outside of what was immediately useful but looking at each, memories rising up warm as ever, she finds she is now much closer to some understanding.
Tonight she is finishing a paper she has been persistently editing for her class on Neo-Politics in the Leicester Alliance – a topic she finds fascinating, but is apparently quite controversial with some of those native to Fodlan, and so she feels near cross-eyed from fact checking each source though she will get it done.
Pelleas had helped her a great deal in the days leading up to the final submission, but now she wants to look at the flaws on her own; which is to say, she is perfectly happy to have him in her room wrapped in her bedsheets but she will be doing this final check alone.
He doesn’t seem to mind, at least not unduly – the nervous energy coming off of him is just that, frenetic rather than hurt and as Micaiah makes herself one more cup of strong tea she really cannot quite tell who’s nerves she is picking up on.
“Alright,” she says finally, when she feels a headache non-caffeine related coming on, “I’ve done all I can. If any of the old guard from the Kingdom or Alliance, or goddess forbid my own house leader, wish to debate me I will simply take it in stride.”
Saying this she finally begins to get ready for bed as she has announced she would at least an hour ago, falling into it a bit dramatically knowing Pelleas will be there to catch her – and this too, is dangerous, falling without looking; with nothing to catch her but that trust but just like the transient warmth she feels every time she looks at reminders of her “birth” it feels too good to give up.
She’d like to take this moment back too alongside her gifts to the palace. To know the same moonlight there might blanket their embrace, though the stars might change; she thinks to bring it up actually, drifting in her thoughts, when Pelleas speaks first.
(Or shouts?  He’s certainly excited, but just as Pelleas’s emotion ebb and flow in such a unique way so too does his tone of voice. It’s never bothered her so authentic as it is).
“I told you I’m always happy to hear it, didn’t I?” She chuckles, rising to a seated position as he does the same.
She lets Pelleas’ words come into being, one rolling over the next with the same burble as a river and finds herself smiling wider – so that’s what he had been thinking! She never would have guessed. (Perhaps forgetting your own birthday was another birthday tradition, she will have to ask when she finds someone who might be knowledgeable regarding such a thing).
Micaiah holds still, and doesn’t mention he needn’t have worried about being the first to greet her – because as used to walking in the morning as she was, she hadn’t planned on leaving him, the sun being as good a blanket as the moon in her opinion. She sees the gem only for a moment before he pins it to her hair but the shape of the flower is familiar from her reading and finds herself nodding along.
“Mm… you know it’s rather fitting being the Priestess of Yune and a Branded myself that I should be given something called ominous, I think. It’s no less beautiful for it.”
Rebirth, he mentions; and as gladdened as she is by the rest of his speech the hope in her eyes dwindles only a bit - is that what will happen to you, she thinks? Will your soul have enough to go on? Or would her own desires and the spirits tie him down… she wonders, placing the guardian flower in his own hair for a moment just to see how it looks.
“I thought I had been doing my own research, but you always know so much! I like that, a flower meant to protect from death despite what an insurmountable object that is; I’ve read too you can plant spider lilies around rice paddies and other vegetables to keep them safe from mice or other pests. I suppose they’re always protecting us in some way then…”
She takes the pin from him again, and reaches over him to place it on the desk before pulling him back down with her; “I’m confused about one thing though, Pelleas,” she chortles, “shall we run away together now or shall we go to sleep?”
Daein was too cold a climate for spider lilies to flourish, but she wants to see them with her own eyes, hand in hand with Pelleas if she can. And she tells him this – uncaring for this one moment, that she has tied him to her once again with another promise, as for now she can feel his warmth. She cannot put that in a box, but she will remember.

Also about ferrari culture. I agree with you on how the internal structures are not gonna change fast enough (if they change at all), but also it will be interesting to see how the tifosi react to lewis and his political campaigns.
A team culture that is based on traditions, fans are not gonna be happy about the team pushing political messeges that are the exact opposite of their own political opinions. Yes, younger fans are generally more liberal but a huge part of their fans are still men in their 40-50s. That agegroup of italian men are not gonna be open to lewis’s campaigns. I think even if ferrari does as promised the fan reception wont be good. It could really hurt the brand.
I am not Italian. Maybe Italian friends here can answer and elaborate more on how Italians view race/cultural diversity, feminism, LGBTQ+, etc. Like how the fan culture works there? How do Italian fans respond to it? Do Italians view those issues as something political or something more of a human rights issue? Those are the questions I cannot answer because I am not Italian therefore I am unable to speak on behalf of the tifosi you meant here (which I presume the ones you meant here are Italians Tifosi)
But in my opinion, I wouldn't label those issues as political but more of human rights but the labelling on those issues are relative/subjective depends on which country you're in. I don't know much about Italy so I can't comment on the Italian stance here but let's talk about how F1 fans in general is homophobic towards LH wearing LGBTQ+ supporting helmets several times and how if you look on tiktok, there are still dudebros using his old clip of him yelling at his nephew abt "boys don't wear dresses" despite him changing his stance and educating himself already. F1 fans are just homophobic in general and misogynistic towards female inclusivity in F1. The drivers themselves, like GR, even became the target of homophobia or people trying to assume his sexuality 24/7.
Talking about the demographics, again I can't say much about the older Italian demographics on whether they're conservative or accepting of those issues or not. But if the fans aren't satisfied because they saw LH trying to bring awareness to those human rights issues as 'political' then it might be troublesome. Ferrari seems to cater to their tifosi a lot? Fan cultures there are strong as fuck. Again, what to expect for the fandom who said "no one is bigger than Ferrari"? So if that happens uhhh maybe they'll try talking to him? Which definitely is not going to end well ig 😭 But it's an issue of "what ifs" because I don't know Italian cultures!
The organizational culture of Ferrari might be traditionally fixed but the fan culture and the italian culture as a whole is of a different topic which I cannot put my hands on (not Italian nor am I a tifosi, far from being one). But at the end of the day, every brand/company/organization will always prioritize brand image>individual. No matter how famous or influential they are. An individual can walk away if the company is in trouble, but the company can't walk away from trouble. If shits get messy, i feel like there won't be much to what Ferrari would compromise on.
This is why i'm pretty surprised by his move to Ferrari because Mercedes has accommodated everything to his wants then suddenly a move to a traditional "national institution-like" company? Just a big WOW.

Another question about the timeline, where do you see Baku's visit to Eba's building and where does he learn the truth about Hal fit in (chapters 534-535)? I say this because during chapter 324, in a flashback that takes place after the bet against President Sakai (which happens before Baku goes to the Eba building) Baku thinks that Kyara will be a real ally when he stops being a referee, giving us the idea that Baku did plan from the beginning to lose the first Surpassing the Leader, which provokes another question, if at that time Baku didn't know that Hal would be the next leader, how could he predict that he would survive in the face of such a bet?
Sorry for English, it's not my first language.
dont worry about your english its good ^-^ its also not my first language so if u need me to rephrase something u can just ask :]
so i dont really know when baku visits eba's building exactly because its kept vague... but i agree it makes the most sense if its after the gamble vs sakai, i dont think we have a date for this? & it also has to be after nov 20th because thats when eba records the message, but before nov 23rd because thats when hal has the game vs fukurou so maybe its like this?
nov 20th (eba records the message intended for souichi)
nov 21st the gamble vs Sakai in the restaurant?
nov 22nd baku enters eba's building and finds out the truth about hal?
nov 23rd hal goes to bakus gamble in his place
i need to reread the 1998 flashbacks i might be missing some cues. the Sakai gambles (vs the son and the next day vs the father at the restaurant) could happen before nov 20th? but not too much before because i doubt eba would only record the message for souichi like 4 days after souichi got the book??? what would happen if he got here too quick and there was no message? after making the book, recording the message would probably be the first thing he does i think. im also biased towards putting baku's discovery of hal's secret as close as possible to the gamble vs fukurou cause thats the most dramatic and heartbreaking timing for things lol
for the foreshadowing about kyara becoming a real ally, the manga loves to make us question how much baku has stuff planned in advance- like, is he really SO GOOD he knew all along it would turn out like this? i think he genuinely loves risking his life and happens to have fate on his side. he DOES have plans but can he forsee things 2 years into the future? could he really know kyara would leave kakerou if baku lost surpassing the leader? i think this bit about kyara is probably one of these cases, like a stray thought he kept in his head for later, maybe he thought kyara might leave kakerou before?
and whether baku KNEW hed survive surpassing the leader or not is also one of those big questions. i think its yakou that first makes the theory, right? that baku lost on purpose and planned it all along? i think its true he did lose on purpose but only once he got there on april 9th. but that last part is my own speculation so with that in mind heres my theory for april 9th
i think after hal took his place for the nov 23rd gamble and never came back, baku was smart enough to know it meant hal died. i dont think he had any reason to think he couldve survived, somehow, so when challenging STL in 2001 when he has THIS LOOK
Tumblr media
i think its because hes shocked to see hal (/souichi) alive. he truly believed he was dead and now hes realizing hes going to play STL with hal. and in that instant i think he makes the decision to lose on purpose because he thinks, if its hal, i will survive, he wont kill me. i think he had a more elaborate plan for the gamble but he didnt use it because he didnt expect hal being there and so instead he seizes THIS opportunity to be the funniest gambler in the history of kakerou and lose STL on purpose and still live LOL + kick in the mangas whole story (or he didnt have the heart to win against hal and kill him "again", you can choose your reading of this scene)
so baku finds out hal is a liar & a kiruma -> the next day hal takes his place in the gamble and dies -> 1.5 years later it turns out hal is alive & the leader of kakerou now??? AND HE HAS TO KILL HIM??? -> insane little plan to lose & survive and re-challenge souichi later. this is sooo messy and heartbreaking and i love it which is why its my interpretation of the events i just really love the tragedy between baku & souichi 🐝

"Beloved should put him to the test and he'll do whatever. Literally whatever, to prove them wrong. If they don't list him with a task, he'll come up with one personally. And it won't at all be a pleasant one, so they might as ask something of him themselves, lest they become responsible for him doing something off the rails on his own accord."
What kind of tasks would Terry come up with for himself to prove his devotion to beloved if they didn't give him any?
I mean, John Kreese felt that Terry has lost his touch after they re-united and without being given a clear incentive and set of ways to showcase that he has not in fact lost his touch and that he's still devoted to Cobra Kai and their old ways, Terry went and ambushed Johnny Lawrence in the old Cobra Kai dojo and beat him up in an almost ritualistic hazing code meant to impress his Captain, and would've have gone god knows how far if John hadn't stopped him, which led to Terry's betrayal and slippery slope down the path of aggression and volatile tendencies, in short. Basically, if left to his own devices and without being outright directed, Terry will choose violence and deeds most foul. After all, how would you prove you're an effective soldier in war and in combat? You'd kill. So, if Terry has this mentality, it really isn't surprising to see where he picked it up from.
Terry will harm someone for beloved.
Physically assault them.
Assault them in any other way too.
Ruin their business, livelihood, finances.
Torture them. Frame them.
Hurt their children, hurt their marriage, hurt their reputation.
Have them hurting themselves for his pleasure.
Ruin their sanity bit by bit --- isolate them from everyone.
Pick apart their safety network until nothing remains.
If they were from a certain country he'd be entirely capable of guiding Dynatox expansionist policies in such a way where toxic materials and residue is literally dumped in their relative homeland, skyrocketing local pollution to about 200% above average, and much, much more. Basically, there's very few limits, or really, no limits what Terry Silver would do to showcase his loyalty to those who matter and he wont stop until he deems he's done just that. There's no reasoning with him on this issue, even when it seems like he's level headed...he just isn't. So, really, for beloved it is simply better to just give him something to do. A goal to avoid having him run amok. A 'I want this, Terry. Give it to me' so Terry wouldn't go haywire and go to absolute human extremes, using his own imagination to prove himself.
Beloved could (very sweetly) use this to their advantage.
Ask for something elaborately positive Terry can do.
Maybe be a bit of an oddly wholesome manipulator themselves.
There Terry is, feverishly instructing his workers and entire staff to re-plant the mansion's garden and turn it East so beloved can watch the sun set every evening. The endeavor costs half a million dollars, but after the project, Terry got this burning hypertension out of his system and is at ease because he sees beloved is happy with his act of service, even though no changes were necessary. Maybe beloved merely asks for quality time spent as their 'proof', knowing exactly what they're doing, and there Terry is, meticulously and entirely obsessively scheduling every date like finely tuned clockwork and somehow always arriving by the minute. I feel Terry would notice that...beloved had every possible opening to work through his weakness and take advantage of him and his need innate need to 'prove himself' but merely chose to be a devoted, understanding partner themselves.
😌🖤

things i need to unpack
-the gender thing
I remember bringing up the possibility of talking T to a sister in university to which she immediately dissauded me saying i didn't need it and shouldn't do that, no idea what her intentions were or if she was trying to be supportive but i guilted that idea out of me by doing research and convincing myself its not worth the effort, i still dont know if i think its worth the effort or not, but i do need to sort through this
i also remember discovering the term androgynous and running with it only for a group of well meaning friends to further prod me on the definition as if that weren't enough (this was during the time where a bunch of lgbt terms were being brought back into the normal language while others where being created) so I don't blame them but it did kinda make me hate labels if mentioning one meant id be asked to constantly elaborate
-the sexuality thing
I floated between a lot of labels as i was learning them, the first one being bisexual since in highschool there was only gay straight or bi, and a lot of queer online discussion changed between me graduating high school and me leaving university
did latch onto the term "demisexual" when it dropped because it felt like me, but was questioned again when trying to explain it and was told "isnt that just what everyone does?" didn't take this response as maybe they were on the same wavelength and proceeded to have the most uncomfortable and irritated relationship with the concept of asexuality ever since, resorted to sorting myself into simply having a low sex drive and maybe not having met the right person yet, didn't help that the people i was dating or interested in at the time were all some level of shitty or uncommunicative sometimes with the bonus of expectations on me I couldn't meet
realizing now that ive guilted myself out of the idea and it just mixed in with my weird and fluctuating relationship with my body making me feel justified for being a dick
-other thoughts
Also realizing now my people pleasing habits, desire to not be a burden on anyone, and letting my own feelings be ignored or bottled up for the sake of other people's comforts did just as much hindrance for my personal journey as learning all the new information helped said journey
i lashed out at people i shouldn't have, over stepped boundaries i didn't comprehend, and came off all wrong when i was learning to set my own boundaries and trying to hate myself less, there were a lot of pivots trying to curb that self hatred, some better than others, others that resulted in me having to navigate around these coping methods i no longer need and no longer help me
I think i do have a lot of unspoken anxiety about whether im allowed to be angry or sad or upset about myself and my relationships because there have been many times where i try to voice those feelings and I'm told I shouldn't respond that way, and ive unfortunately done the same to others, and i think i do need to let myself sit in my bad moods so i can actually process them instead of trying to constantly shove it to the back of my mind and pretend it isnt there
and i can recognize ive said things that have hurt people or made them upset because of all of this shit ive listed and i cant go back and fix most of it because my running into those people are very slim and thats just the nature of life
But, i think to really sort of heal I'll need to start saying whats for me and that what i say is enough
So I think i am demisexual and androgynous nonbinary and I think if i ever want to start taking T that'll be my decision and no one elses and i still have to unpack the baggage and the guilt but i can keep moving forward, and if those labels change than thats good too and it wont be because someone else made me feel bad directly or by accident for making a decision

sideblog of @the-skrunkle so feel free to apply this there too c: stuff abt me!! i use she/her pronouns, they/them is okay too as long as its not used exclusively or for the majority because then it feels like its purposefully avoiding the alternative, obviously for ppl who dont know though that doesnt rly apply c:
im demi aro+ace! i also find relationships very cute in like shows and books and stuff (well um as long as they're done well..) despite finding them kinda gross and weird when they involve irl people (including actors...) sorry,,
um. i would talk about my interests but i feel like they're a bit random sometimes. ill like basically anything if i enjoy their vibes which is so vague that i dont think i can elaborate. i guess i like any creative works, in particular music and art!! (generic i know...) my favourite book series atm is skulduggery pleasant, my favourite show recently is saiki k and my favourite visual novel is starry flowers :3 i dont have any favourite artists though (musicians included). erm . . i like celeste!! i dont play it that often anymore but thats just because ive kind of been losing interest in games in general,, i still play it sometimes though. same with genshin but the main reason i like that is cus i like the characters a lot
idk what else im meant to say tbh- ill block people who's vibe i just dont really like, or sometimes if its just something i dont really wanna see and tumblr keeps showing me for some reason
oh yeah. since this is my blog for like. more personal stuff, there will be vents sometimes. sorry. ill tag them with #vent (or #mini vent if its something less serious!) so feel free to block that tag if you dont want to see them, thats totally ok!! ill also end up deleting them after i feel better so hopefully they wont randomly pop up too much - i might also use #not a vent sometimes for things that might be kinda negative but not actually venting!!
yeah thats kinda it i think-

Leaves That Before The Wild Hurricane Fly, A Destiel Advent Calendar, December 10
Tumblr media
Masterpost
Read it on AO3
“Sorry about all of that“ Dean said as soon as they were alone (comparatively at least – he could still hear the group, or gang as Dean had referred to them, talking) “They are… I know they can be a handful.”
“I don’t mind” he replied automatically, although whether he truly meant it or whether he was just overwhelmed by it all.
“Let me get you something to drink.”
“Water, please.”
When they had met up with Ishim’s friends, they had usually laughed at his request, but Dean simply nodded. “Alright, water it is.”
He took a few sips of his water and watched Dean happily move around the kitchen. “They’ve all offered to help, of course” he told him grinning, “But tis is one thing I like to do alone,.”
Yet had had no problem that Castiel was in the kitchen with him… although he hadn’t exactly offered to help, had he. Instead he was simply standing there, drinking in the sight of Dean.
“Anyway, so that’s everyone important you need to know at the moment. Sam’s a Fae like me of course, just like Gilda, Eileen’s human, Charlie’s a witch, Benny and Andrea are vampires – he just turned her a few months ago at her insistence – and Crowley’s a demon. I imagine he mentioned it?”
“Yes he did.”
“Loves doing that. Sam is always on his case to perhaps be a bit less…” he searched for a diplomatic way of putting things then said, “Well, Sam doesn’t like Crowley’s way of doing things. Let’s leave it at that. They play nice when I’m around, though.”
He couldn’t help but wonder what that meant, exactly, but Dean didn’t elaborate. “Just a warning, Charlie’s a nosy one, and so can Sammy be”.
He must have looked as alarmed as he felt because Dean laughed. “Don’t worry they know when to back off… or at least notice when they shouldn’t. Crowley will probably figure things out on his own, so… And you’re sure you’re fine with him just showing up?”
“If our situations had been reversed, I would probably have done the same” he admitted. After all, they were a tightly-knit group, and Castiel was an outsider, an outsider without magic to boot; why should anyone trust him without checking first? He certainly knew the virtues of fact-checking, even if his bosses didn’t.
“No hard feelings, then?”
He shook his head.
Dean winked. “Fine, you can go back to the dining room then. Don’t let them string you into helping out.”
Since he found the group already setting the table, and there were more than enough hands to go around, he was happy to stand in the corner and watch, as was his wont.
For five entire seconds before Crowley approached him. “Hello again.”
“Hello.”
“So what do you think? If you want to insinuate yourself with anyone, I can give you a few tips.”
“Dean told me you yourself don’t get along with Sam.”
“Nonsense. Me and Moose are great.”
Castiel would believe Dean on that. “Dean said it’s the usual Sunday lunch. So you do this often?”
“Every week. Dean’s a bit of a mother hen – show up often enough and you get adopted.”
Which was probably how he ended up with a demon as a friend.
“But I bet you know that, the way Dean looks at you…”
He didn’t know what to say.
“Ah, fine, fine, you’re a shy one, forgot. Anyway, better get sued to it because you are here now, so you get an invitation very week too. That’s how it works.”
Again, he couldn’t say anything.
“Plus, his cooking is delicious even if I technically wouldn’t need to eat.”
“Dean cooks very well” he agreed. That at least was something easy to reply to.
“Heya!” Charlie now all but skipped up to them, “Trying to scare him away, Crowley?”
“Haven’t succeeded so far.”
“Good sign” she told him before grabbing Castiel. “Come on, you two are missing all the fun!”
As it turned out, setting the table – even if he didn’t help since “the first time” it was Dean’s rule that he shouldn’t, as Sam explained – was part of their ritual, and they were already in the middle of telling each other everything about the last week, what they had gotten up to, the people they had met.
While Castiel had several siblings, he had never been close to any of them, and their family dinners certainly had never felt like this.
They included him too, asking about his job and hobbies – it might just have been an attempt to understand who they were about to trust with their life stories, but it didn’t seem like it at all.
He was busy discussing the latest Gaiman novel with Eileen when Dean called out, “Alright, lunch’s ready!”

hiHI your timing was great my brain just fell down the moc brainrot rabbithole again now that i realised i missed an interim chapter SDFHDFJ
honestly my fave bits are seeing people go back and be hit with that ‘oh!’ realization of all the pieces falling into place and making sense it’s so so rewarding as a writer and im so glad to see it every time 🤧
ok WORM i prolly wont reread it right away bc its still very fresh, i wanna let it simmer a little 😌😌 but when i do. does this mean i have permission to come yelling in your ask box as i do SJDFHSDFJ or would you rather i just reblog it again and freak out in the tags/additions as per usual??
ofc i don’t mind indulging you, i always always ADORE answering questions and talking about the worldbuilding bc worldbuilding is my most favorite part about creating fics!!!
OK WORM [2] i will probably pop in w random questions from time to time when moc is on the mind then. which is... fairly often. im gonna start building a little hut in your ask box, i have a feeling im gonna be here a while 🤭 might as well get cozy!
there aren’t really ‘cellphones’ or smartphones like we would have but the wristbands go in place of that.
so its not even a matter of the crew just not having them, but they just arent a thing? thats interesting :0 i guess they had their priorities on intergalactic space travel rather than a little light brick of addiction and brainwashing. yknow, maybe they had the right idea. or maybe they just didn't need the internet when you already can brainwash people with a serum 🥴🥴🥴🥴
what a lot of the scenery and environment is meant to emulate is a sort of call back to past history and things of the past, or a clinging to this old tradition even if it’s not the more forward-thinking type of technology.
could you elaborate more on this? :0 like, you mentioned kebos reminiscent of ancient rome - is it like, Actually recreating the past that exists in-universe, like Was there an ancient rome equivalent that they are paying homage to, or is it just happening to become something similar to what we as readers know as ancient rome? does this mean the people of this universe are really big on tradition? was it more like the need for fancier newer n more novel tech just fizzled out when people realised they already had the fundamentals and thats all they needed to work on improving, as a society, or was it just never invented because (??)? or is this actually really early in this universe's timeline, where the origins of technology was more focused on travel and military than entertainment, and theyve just yet to cross that bridge yet? sorry if this is a lot of questions sDFJHSKDFHKsdf im still tryna wrap my head around this in particular. i didnt think abt the whole them being criminals and therefore downgrading their digital footprint for safety though, thats pretty smart. so does that imply that the internet does exist but criminals simply know better than to use it? ik you just said its something you dont feel like going into a heap of detail abt but KhGJKSKDFG
the idea of there being things like video games or vr headsets doesn’t feel like it necessarily fits with the idea and tone of the setting that’s already been constructed, and that was never something i thought i wanted to include from the very beginning of the idea. and that was a conscious decision just because from the start, i’ve wanted the story to be set in this fantastical universe of course but the plot and the characters are meant to be the focal point
you're right, it doesn't really fit with the vibe at all - it really does just feel like a typical pirate au, but in space. having san be a gamer and seonghwa being a film nerd would probably take away from that a little SJFKSKDF its not that i feel the story Should have more advanced tech elements, but more just me being curious abt all the in-universe Why's ykno. and tryna figure out what is and isnt possible with the realm of tech available. but it makes sense that you want to prioritise the characters themselves rather than the environment, which at first seemed less of the case w the amounts of planets in the profiles but i get it now that they just serve as catalysts for character growth with their pasts and such rather than an in-depth sinkhole of planetary lore just for the sake of immersion. (youve got plenty of immersion going on already with just the Rawness of all the characters, anyway.)
in the scope of the main characters we have in our crew - i want the crew to feel like a safe space for not only the main character and the other crew members but also to the reader. they are a safe place and they offer understanding and warmth and comfort that’s completely separate from the parts of the universe that aren’t that accepting or understanding.
yeah, this i totally get an expected as much. ateez are canonically For The Gays™ and a safe space so theres no reason why theyd be any different here 😌
it’s been addressed in the plot before with yeosang and wooyoung in particular, that they could never have been together even if wooyoung weren’t a slave because of gender and because of yeosang’s position as a prince.
okay THIS i totally missed bc i had just figured it was because of the whole slave/prince thing. makes sense that a traditional system such as a monarchy would be where you find more traditional thinking like bigotry. but yeah that all makes sense
i will say that we will see a lot more characters come into play, and we will see journeys with the characters we already know, and as it’s a story that’s very character based, those are aspects i love to focus on and so we’ll be getting into more of that and seeing things unfold and manifest over the course of the story as we’ve barely scratched the surface regarding the entirety of the universe and what it holds!
this is so ominous how do you manage to say so much without saying anything at the same time. i read this and translate it to "stay tuned, im aboutta absolutely rock your shit" and honestly... so true. i am vibrating with excitement to see where this goes! tho this seems like its hinting at more diversity/queerness based on the topic at hand so would it be too spoilery to ask if moc will eventually see any trans characters 👀 s'fine if you cant answer that tho for spoilers sake lmfAOoo i just figured i might as well ask for my crumbs. LOL.
i hope this all makes sense and is more than just my ramblings bc my god did i ramble!
i did quite literally invite you to ramble so i am positively Thrilled you delivered, you could write a wholeass thesis on moc as a whole and i would read every damn word of it 😤😤😤😤 thank you for taking the time to do so!
whewie whewie i have to apologize i didn't realize this was sitting in my inbox all this time TT dumblr told me i had cleared it pretty much all the way out so i never saw this until i came in and refreshed earlier today?! wack. but i'm here now better late than never ahahha </3 haertbreaking im SO SORRY 😭😭
you can as always do whichever you feel most comfy with! if its sometihng you really want me to respond to then i'd say inbox is best bet (if tumblr lets me see it that is </3)
build your hut and build it strong it's very cozy and comfy in here indeed 😮‍💨
i would say i compare kebos to ancient rome because that's what we would know and understand it best to be. i've never envisioned this universe ever having what we consider 'earth' like i dont consider the moc universe to just be a distant future form of our current universe irl, so they aren't necessarily paying homage to an ancient roman civilazation or anything like that but rather creating on their own.
as far as their views on tradition, i wouldn't put too much thought into that tbh. in the grand scheme of things it's definitely not the most pressing matter but i suppose you could call the technology rather primitive on certain planets, but we also have to think about how large this universe is and how many planets there are and how different each one is. there are different laws for each system and each planet, i would say that aurum is the most unified and so far we've seen that they are the most advanced in terms of technology as well. some of that technology has bled to other places as well but each planet is going to be at a different point in terms of advancement just based on resources and needs are them
and definitely yes the planets and those profiles are meant to serve as a visual helper for the readers and a  somewhere i can look back on and understand what each setting provides. there are some planets where the planetary lore will come into play so that is not for no reason at all by any means, it's just that so far in the story these planets act as the stage for the actors to come alive on! but also keep in mind that this story has been going on for over 2 years at this point! the direction and minute details have definitely gone under a lot of changes so it's hard to say where my mind was at two years ago versus where it's at now!
DFAHDSKJF i fULLY plan to rock everyone's shit absoluteLY, while we aren't going to really get much in the way of main characters coming forward (it is still an ateez fic after all) but we will get some side characters who fall on different spots on the spectrum, i can't say that i have anyone right now who is trans but there might be one further down the line if i feel its important for the story telling!!!
