Really fucked up that, when they’re young, Patrick and Art are SO tactile with each other, so comfortable sharing the same space. Art lets Patrick touch him and move him and physically overwhelm him and easily acquiesces to it, if not outright enjoys it.
Then in the present, they’ve been so far out of each other’s orbit for so long, held such animosity that when they have their moment alone in the sauna, Art physically recoils from Patrick’s close proximity! It’s so painful to watch because even as Patrick’s goading him, it’s so obvious he wants to be able to get back into Art’s space. But Art has erected all these walls around himself, he refuses to give Patrick an inch or even admit to missing how close they used to be!
AND THEN we see Art and Tashi later and he wants her to hold him, to be gentle with him, and just TOUCH him. Like, he does miss that kind of close physical contact! He either doesn’t know how to ask for it or is uncomfortable being that openly vulnerable. Worth noting that he pretty much always defers to Tashi in regard to initiating physical intimacy (with their first kiss, though he does state his desire, SHE has to be the one to make the first move). And it seems pretty obvious that Tashi herself isn’t comfortable providing that intimacy, whereas Patrick actively seeks to provide it (the hug/forehead kiss after their win together in the early years, dragging the stool closer to him).
Art has tried very hard to act like he doesn’t need physical affection and even though his discipline and devotion to Tashi has made him a stronger tennis player, it’s made him a hollow person, which, in turn, has kept him from becoming a GREAT tennis player.
All of this, of course, is why the ending hits so damn hard.

Hello have you seen itzy solo stages? Any opinions on stage presence and overall performance there?
Hello! I hadn’t watched them until you sent this ask (I just got promoted and have had family visiting so I’ve been very busy lmao) Also I’m currently on the bus, heading to an event downtown so sorry if this is a little incomplete/lackluster, I might add more later. Also means i’m on mobile and can’t add a read more so im v sorry
SO! Overall… kinda disappointing. They’re all so charismatic on camera but stuff like this really goes to show that performing live is a whole different beast. They all just give off major rookie vibes throughout. (To be fair they have spent a chunk of their career during covid, but still…)
I appreciate that Lia performed without a vocal backing track (or it was rlly quiet i cant remember) I think the nerves were a lot and she was too concentrated on everything else to give a whole lot in the performance dept.
I was expecting a lot more dance from Yeji tbh, the choreo was lacking and her vocal track was too loud. Plus she relied too much on it, the choreo was simple, I would’ve liked her to sing more.
Ryujin had a lot of potential and parts showed through but fuck was she unnatural. She didn’t know what to do with herself. which like, fair, that shit is hard. I also didn’t like the coat.
Chaeryeong had probably my favorite stage? The outfit was nice. Same issue as yeji in terms of backing track
Im gonna be real with u, I hated Yena’s stage. The choreo was awkward, she rarely sang, and overall it was just a nothing of a stage.
Don’t get me wrong! all of them are good performers! this is their first live show (if I’m not wrong) they’re not used to performing solo nor performing in front of crowds like this one, they were all singing in English, and they’re used to relying on choreo to know what to do with their bodies. Also it’s easier for me to be harsh bc I know the songs theyre singing and can understand them. Stage presence for me is the ability to get the audience to believe what you’re saying, to act like you mean what you sing wholeheartedly. The ability to fill a stage. A great example is Billie Eilish. She has a huge fucking stage that’s, for the most part, empty except for her, but it never feels empty. She knows how captivate and fill a space with her performance.

So yes I have OF COURSE read @naffeclipse new fic Apex Polarity and yes, I AM OBSESSED!
So I decided to make a little comic of how I think their "first encounter" might have looked like from Eclipse's perspective.
I can't help but think about how alien and scary we most look to him (especially if there is a history of fasco hunting polar sirens in the past). With all that gear we look like emotionless beings, just observing and uncaring of this ice world.
But then when y/n shows up and probably exudes this joy and wonder for his world + shows respect for the creatures and the environment??? Mmh yeah, I can see Eclipse falling for y/n, especially considering how alone he might be...
So yes, that's what I have for today! If you want to read the fic I'll link it right here. I can't recommend it enough, but as always, read the tags so you know what you're getting into! And lastly I also want to @themeeplord beacuse Eclipse's design is basically their design in my style (god I love their design so much, their character/creature designs are the BEST) so all the credit goes to them! Polar!Y/N is my design thou! ;P
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go read the two latest chapters-
YIPPEE!!!
