My Buddie Babies: Let's Talk (Post 9-1-1 S7E5 Commentary)💕
First of all, Hi Girlies! How are we doing on this fabulous, fabulous day? After all, another day where BiBuck is canon is another day in paradise. Am I right? Of course, I am! 🥰🥰🥰
Tumblr media
In all seriousness, I just wanted to reflect and comment on a few things I noticed on Tumblr after S7E5 aired. A few fellow Buddie Stans were a little iffy on this week's episode for a few reasons, but I wanted to touch on a couple. And I know no one really cares about my opinion, but as someone who's been ABSOLUTELY CHOMPING AT THE BIT for Buddie since Eddie joined the 118, I feel like this is warranted.
First things first: Marisol...
Now hear me out, I know Eddie's past relationships haven't been the best. (Hell, some might even say not entertaining)- but I really feel this season is more focused on Eddie's growth than the actual relationship between Marisol and Eddie itself. Does that make sense?
Like, as someone who loves to write, I see Marisol as a plot device- she's here to push Eddie in the right direction. (Now if that happens to be into Bucks arms, I sure won't be complaining.) But even if it doesn't, that's fine too. To me, it's clear Eddie's relationships have failed for a reason- and that reason being Eddie. This whole nun thing with Marisol, though funny as hell to me, was a realization for Eddie that he moves way too fucking fast. I mean, he asked her to move in, then wanted to shack up at Buck's place for a couple days to avoid seeing her at home! His conversation with Bobby proved that when he said it himself. He rushed things with Shannon, he rushed things with Anna and now he's doing the same thing with Marisol. Eddie needs time to get his shit together first, then we can make Buddie canon.
Now on to my second point: Buddie.
I know some people are disappointed Eddie hasn't expressed feelings for Buck yet, but I'm kind of happy he hasn't. I would HATE it if Eddie and Buck got into a relationship, only for Eddie to unintentionally rush things. We already know Buck has abandonment issues and I would be so floored if Eddie realizes he's moving too fast only to pull away. Our boys are precious and deserve the world- but only in due time...
Let's face it, Eddie and Buck are rather impulsive and with their job it makes sense- they have to be reactionary, quick thinking; but when it comes to this relationship shit, it hasn't benefited them in the slightest. The boys need time to figure things out.
Though I'd love to see it, we don't NEED Buddie this season. BuckTommy fulfills my 'Happy Buck' quota and any day Eddie is on screen is a good day indeed.
We've survived 6 seasons of the Great FOX Queerbait Slow Burn- so one more won't kill us. After all, 9-1-1 was just renewed for season 8! So, with Tim Minear as the show runner, I'm hopeful.
...So that's it. That's all the food for thought I've got for today. I just had to get that off my chest.
See you next time queers! Tootaloo 🤡

Harry Wells x Fem Reader Feat Oliver Queen
Tumblr media
Alright @yetanotherwells hopefully the tag works!
A/N: Ever since the Arrow episode of season 9 aired, this story has been in my head, not wanting to leave, and i wanted to share. That being said: SPOILERS FOR SEASON 9 READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! Also, this is my first story im sharing on here, and i would greatly appreciate any feedback!
Content Warning ⚠️: brief talk of grief, little bit of angst, and a whole lot of fluff
Summary: With the return of Oliver Queen, Y/N begins to think of all the other people who she lost at the hands of crisis. Oliver then gives her a precious gift before he has to leave.
The West-Allen household was set ablaze with chatter, laughter, and clinking of drinks to celebrate the return of Oliver Queen, even if it's a temporary return. Barry was out making sure that Ramsey got to Iron Heights with no problems. Y/N sat by the fireplace observing the joy and happiness of all her friends, especially Oliver.
She was elated to see her oldest friend. Though with every happy memory and joyous moment she had that night, a somber thought or memory would take its place. She began to fall deeper in her thoughts, spinning the diamond ring on her finger, her mind trailed to the Grumpy Scientist that put it on said finger.
"I know that look," Oliver's voice pulled her out of her thoughts as he took a seat next to her. "Where did you go?"
Y/N gave a small smile, "I'm happy to see you, Ollie, I've missed you."
Olivrr reciprocated the smile and nudged her shoulder with his, "I've been keeping an eye on you, so much so, I want to thank you." Y/N furrowed her brows, and his smile wavered only for a moment. "For keeping Felicity company and taking care of her. I miss you both often, but affection is not going to make me forget my question." He grabbed her hand, "Talk to me, Y/N."
She released a sigh, "Good to know you're still insufferable." They both laughed, "i am happy you're here. It's just when i see you that i can't help but think of all the other people i lost due to crisis." She glanced down to her wedding rings, tears pooling in her eyes.
Oliver followed her gaze and gave a nod of understanding, "Harry," she nodded as Oliver pulled her into an embrace. Tears began to streak Y/N's cheeks.
"Ollie, every day feels like my heart has a hole that keeps growing that might swallow me whole." She sniffled, "I never even got to say goodbye to him."
Oliver rubbed soothing circles with his thumb to comfort his grieving friend. Then, an idea struck him. He pulled away from the embrace as Y/N wiped her tears from her face. "I've interfered plenty with the multiverse tonight, but i have one more thing to do," he rose to his feet.
Y/N gave him a confused look, "What does that mean?"
Oliver held out his hand that she took cautiously. He pulled her close and whispered in her ear, causing her eyes to widen. He pulled away, still holding her hand, "That's all i can tell you, unfortunately, but maybe this could bring you some peace."
Excitement and nerves bubbled over as she gave the former vigilante a kiss on the cheek, "Thank you, Oliver, Im going to miss you!"
Oliver smiled as Y/N made her way toward the exit, "I'll miss you too, Y/N."
~2 hours later~
The breach opened, and Y/N stepped out onto the parking lot. Though the place was familiar, there were parts that were new to her. As she faced the building of the parking lot she was standing in, she gasped. Wasting no time, she ran into Earth 2's S.T.A.R Labs.
Walking in, she became overwhelmed with senses. The most potent being the familiar smell of him. A rush of memories hit her, the first time they met in the cortex at Earth 1, their first kiss, their first date. Before she drowned in the sea of memories, she pressed forward toward the elevator.
Y/N pulse began to beat rapidly as she approached the second level. She smoothed out her knee-length dress to remove some of the persperation on her hands. The doors opened, and the office was just how she left it. Everything looked in place and the same.
Cautiously, she walked up to his desk, papers with his handwriting cluttered the desk. She grabbed the frame that was on his desk. Fresh tears blurred her vision of her, and Jessie kissing both of his cheeks in front of a christmas tree from the West Christmas party. "I miss you so much, Harry," she put the picture back on the desk.
"I've missed you too, Princess." The familiar voice caused the young hero to straighten her spine. She turned around, and her eyes met Harry's crystal blue ones.
"Harrison," Y/N whispered under her breath, a rare moment where she called him by his full name. His hair was shorter, clean shaven at the sides with his curls up top, and he was in a suit with a full smile on his face. He was even more handsome than she remembered.
He rubbed his hands together nervously. "I know you may have a lot of-" he couldn't finish the sentence as she leaped into his arms, burying her face in his neck. Harry returned her embrace his hand held the back of her head.
"You're real," she whispered.
He chuckled, "I'm real, Princess," he pulled away to face her again and brushed a loose strand of hair from her face.
"I don't know how this is possible. I knew that the multiverse was being restored, but I didn't think that it would restore the people." She stepped out of his grasp and was speaking a million words per minute. "What about your intelligence did that come back? What about the council? Jessie?"
Harry stepped in front of his wife and cupped her face in his hands, "Y/N, can I kiss my wife now?"
Y/N smiled and nodded. Harry pressed his lips on hers. He tilted her head to deepen the kiss. After a few moments, they separated for air, and he grabbed her hand and led her to the balcony. "Tell me something, how did you know where to find me?" He wrapped his arms around her and pressed her back against his front as the sun began to set.
In the distance, Y/N saw a hooded figure in green, who gave her a nod before disappearing. "I had some help from an old friend." Harry kissed the top of her head as they watched the sunset on Earth-2.

I honestly don't want the s5 finale to air tomorrow. Adrien/Chat Noir is in exactly the horrible sacrificial lamb position I almost exactly envisioned like this because of fucking "Kuro Neko". Not to mention Marinette fate in all of this I also always knew but I didn't think they would take it THIS far! And same goes for Gabriel. Jesus fucking Christ. 6 years ago I started watching this show and now season 5 tells me over and over again I had it right all along, we just went the most frustrating way about it!
I should be happy but I'm fucking NOT!
This is what I was so angry about. Screw you, I already read it correctly back then that Adrien would end up locked up, isolated and in pain at the villains'mercy and having to sacrifice himself again because that's literally what the fuck "Kuro Neko" til the end of "Strike back" did to Ladynoir and they never ever recovered from that while Gabriel was always the miraculous holder who actually made the needed process and had the genuine victories. This shit was obvious!
I already knew it one season ago that this would happen. I want to cry, what the hell do you mean I was RIGHT?? This was the worst case scenario I was so incredibly angry about and ever since then I watched it unfold before my very eyes with each and every passing episode validated me in hindsight and now we are HERE.
Nothing changed, nothing was prevented. Neither Chat Blanc from season 3 who is now coming from Adrien's anger within for real since he NEVER got help!, not Éphémère where Gabriel won and one of our protagonists was pulled away by a villain to be given information while the other one has the team (hello? "Representation"? Ring a bell? It happened again just with Marinette and Félix this time) and most definitely not the Ladynoir consequences of fucking "Kuro Neko" which I hate with every inch of my heart and bitch, apparently I was RIGHT!
Couldn't have been reading the fucked up and inherently one-sided nature of the Ladynoir conflict settlement in that episode and the following very incorrectly if that ALONE was enough for me to figure out last season what Adrien's/Chat Noir’s horrible fate would NOW end up being, now could I?
I couldn't have envisioned it THIS correctly if I didn't actually read it somewhat right!
I knew it. I god damn knew it. I read all of this exactly RIGHT! I was insanely pissed about the worst case and most salty scenario and now Canon is telling me I was right all along! Everything is falling into pieces in the worst but most predictable ways I've kinda held myself back from fully acknowledging that way as s5 went on, but all taht did was causing that I'm now more pissed and frustrated than ever because I saw it unfolding right in front of my eyes but I didn't wanted to believe that my season 4 reading of Adrien's fate, Ladynoir's partnership and Marinette's fate as main character and Gabriel's as villain father (and overall ending to all of this for everyone) were correct, but I only ended up shooting myself in the knee!
Season 5 finale, I know exactly what you're gonna do because everything lead up to this, it's painfully obvious,
But I swear, don't execute it in the way I imagined all of this in season 4. I'll get over having been right but you don't need to validate me THIS much
Tumblr media
I will never shut up again if what I think is gonna happen happens tomorrow... I've hold my tongue for most of season 5, don't make me talk

The Sandman, Season 1, Episode 1, "Sleep of the Just," First Impressions!
How could I not?
I mean, it's The Sandman. The freakin' Sandman. Easily one of the most influential pieces of fiction on yours truly, one I have read multiple times, one that I never expected to see any sort of adaptation, nor did I really want one, seeing how many horror stories we've heard of terrible scripts and projects through the years, some which Neil Gaiman himself had to step in and torpedo to keep them from unleashed upon the Earth.
But now it's here. An actual adaptation with Gaiman himself deeply involved, having learned from the successes of Good Omens and the failures of American Gods to bring us the long-awaited live-action adaptation of one of the most important graphic novel series of all time.
However, just a few notes before I begin. First, this is going to be different from episode-by-episode reviews I've done of other shows, as since I already know the story of The Sandman backward and forward, I can't really react to the story, as I largely already know everything that will happen. As such, I will instead review this as an adaptation, taking note of what's changed, what's the same, any neat tricks that the new medium provides, and the like. I will also do this assuming that anyone reading these not only has seen the series, but also is familiar with the story. This is going to be a spoiler-heavy discussion. You have been warned.
Also, one change I will not be remarking on is the thing that had everyone up in a silly tizzy earlier this year: some characters being portrayed by actors of different ethnicities and genders than was portrayed in the source material. Yeah, okay, I know that these are iconic characters, so seeing them look so different that what we're used to is a little jarring, but c'mon. The complaints just got absurd, and we all know where the bulk of them were coming from. So, here's the only acknowledgement of that business I'm going to make. Right here. Consider it acknowledged and summarily dismissed.
That having been said, let's go!
The original Sleep of the Just, while still being very cool, did demonstrate some growing pains that plagued the series until Gaiman found his voice around The Sound of her Wings. Back then, it was very much a horror series, with body horror and gore popping up quite a lot. Here, while the story is still very much the same, I can tell that Gaiman wanted to update the overall feel, going for something more mystical and surreal than outright unpleasant.
One major indication was the inspired, yet utterly obvious choice to cast Charles Dance as Roderick Burgess. Originally Burgess was a more smirk, neh-heh-heh type villain, one that would not look out of place in a Scooby Doo cartoon. Here, he's basically Twyin Lannister as an occultist, lending an air of regalness and authority largely missing from the original.
And since it's Charles Dance, how could they not shine a greater spotlight on his relationship with Alex? You really do feel sorry for the kid, growing up with such a bastard for a father. Having him be the one to kill Roderick was a bit dramatic (he just dies of old age originally, and his relationship with Alex is almost entirely glossed over), but completely understandable. So much so that I was wondering how they could get away with having Dream curse him?
Have him kill Jessamy. Good Lord, that'll do it.
Also, I heard people were really upset about all the gay people in the show, with Alex's relationship with Paul being mentioned, and I'm like, did you not read the comic? They were gay there too! Plainly!
I did note that Ruthven Sykes was still present, but despite Ethel Cripps having a larger role, the two do not run away together, perhaps to save time. It's not like she needed much encouragement in this version. I did note that the scene where the helmet is traded to Choronzon for the protection amulet was cut, so I wonder how they will explain how the helmet ended up in Hell.
One change I was very happy with was the greater emphasis on the Corinthian, who was a standout character in the comic. I get the feeling that he was one of those characters that was created when he was needed but ended up being so cool and so popular that Gaiman kind of wished that he had a bigger role, hence his later "resurrection." But now that Gaiman gets to have something of a do-over, we get the Corinthian having a more active role. I especially loved that interaction between him and Burgess, with Burgess, normally so contemptuous and cruel to those he deems lesser than himself (basically everybody), immediately sensing that there is something very dangerous about this charismatic stranger that just barged into his house and treating him with respectful deference.
The cinematography was absolutely on-point. I absolutely loved that fish-eyed lens effect they used a few times in the mansion to give it a more hazy, dreamlike feel. I popped hard when they reacted the panel where Dream escapes his prison and reenters the Dreaming. And the scene were Dream curses Alex? Spine-chilling. I do wish they could've gotten the Eternal Waking curse to work onscreen. I hear they tried, but it just didn't translate right for whatever reason. Bummer, that would've been awesome.
But those shots of the Dreaming? Fucking gorgeous. I smiled at the glances of the Houses of Mystery and Secrets, and enjoyed those early cameos of Dream's servants. Also, I see you, Martin Tenbones! Was that Barbie's ship or something?
And let me just say this? Thomas Sturridge as Dream?
Tumblr media
Yeah, that'll work. Here he perfectly nails Dream's majesty, mystery, and intimidation, but I also can easily see this guy demonstrating his drama queen tendencies, social cluelessness, and kind of pathetic dumbass moments we all know and love about the Dream King. That voice, yo.
So yeah, an excellent start. Netflix, I swear to God, if you cancel this, I will find you, and I will make you pay...by ranting about it loudly on the internet. See this one through, guys. I still haven't forgiven you for Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance!

Note
I've been meaning to send this to you for a while now but I've been having a depressive episode lately and everything, including sending messages, has been out of my reach.
I just wanted to say I love your comic! Waiting for a new update is something that gives me reason to look forward to a new week. I also appreciate how you've been making it for such a long time and still going all until the conclusion (so by that regard you're already doing a better job than Valve 😆 ... 7th issue "To be concluded". *sniff*) Seriously, this is why TF2 fandom is so great: even when the game is ancient by the industry standards, fans keep putting out new content.
SniperSpy (opposite teams) is such a fun ship because it's pretty much bound to be an enemies-turned-lovers story but every artist has their own way of doing it, so it's always interesting to see how each person handles it. The starting premise of your comic is one of the more unique ones I've seen 😆 And on a good way, mind you: TF2 is a game known for its sometimes very absurd humour ("When the patient woke up, his skeleton was missing"... Medic, HOW???), so the lifetime supply of Spy fits that tone just perfectly. So does the reason why Heavy the wish-fulfilling fairy is banned for good now, I laughed a good while at that.
I Finnish too but wrote this in English, so all your followers would be able to understand it. But feel free to message me in Finnish if you feel like it, I'm all for making new fandom friends. 👋
Oh fudge, depression is a bitch. I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with that, it can get incredibly exhausting at times. Or all the time... Have a SniperSpy hug
Tumblr media
Thank you for taking the time to write this message, even when you're having a hard time. It truly means the world to me to know I can bring some joy into people's lives with this little comic of mine.
Yeeaaaaaahhhh the official comic... The One Who Must Not Be Named and Probably Will Never Be Finished. If it makes you feel any better (I know it won't) I came up with an idiot-proof plot that would have ended the comic before we even got to the second part: Soldier beats Olivia (who has disappeared into thin air from the actual comic) because he has no sense of morality like Saxton does so he becomes the head of the company. Then Saxton beats him up immediately after and they chase Grey and Olivia away along with their robot army. The end!
Long story told in less than one full comic. You're welcome, Valve!
Tumblr media
Now where was I?
Oh yeah the point.
Enemy Sniper/Spy is so much fun in every possible way of how much potential it has when it comes to smut, drama, humor and well... EVERYTHING! You can do pretty much anything you want with it, depending on what you like. And I just happened to like senseless slapstick that later on turned into drama fest and now it's on fluff mode.
I seriously don't even know what I'm rambling on, this is one of those replies that just goes on and on because I don't know how to stop. Very much like my comic the more I think about it...
And since you are literally the first one who thought the FBI banning Medic from giving Kritzkrieg fumes to Heavy after sex (booyyy people didn't like that twist!), have a sneak peek of the next week's page
Tumblr media
Again, thank you so very much for your feedback, it's always a great pleasure to hear people's comments. And I know it's such a cliché to say this but I genuinely do hope you'll feel better soon. Even if just a little bit.

Bookend: “We are all damaged. We have all been hurt. We have all had to learn painful lessons. We are all recovering from some mistake, loss, betrayal, abuse, injustice or misfortune. All of life is a process of recovery that never ends. We each must find ways to accept and move through the pain and to pick ourselves back up....Each tragedy is an announcement that some good will indeed come in time. Be patient with yourself.” ― Bryant McGill
Another day, another murderer locked away. This case proved that sometimes, the so-called "good guys" can be just as selfish as the "bad guys." The special agent who recruited the BAU's help, Jill Morris, used this case to obtain personal fame and grow her career.
You sit next to Rossi aboard the plane. He had a more personal interaction with Morris throughout the case, and you can tell her actions have left him more than disappointed.
Looking out the window at the sun setting behind the clouds, you mumble to yourself, "What's the difference?"
"Did you say something?" Dave speaks up.
Looking to him, you brush it off, "Oh. Nothing. I was just talking to myself."
He crosses his legs and smiles a warm smile at you, "Penny, for your thoughts then."
"I guess...I just don't understand how Jill Morris's motives can be any different from Jeremy Andrus's. Of course, Jill didn't murder or rape anyone. But, she exploited this case for her own personal benefit. She didn't just use the unsub; she exploited the victims as well. How is that any different than Jeremy using women for his own gratification?"
David sighs, "Aristotle said, 'Every practical pursuit or undertaking seems to aim at some good.' Our brains are wired for love and solidarity. Greed forms to undermine that wiring and trick others into believing that their means to an end is done for "good." People believe that to maintain that myth, any and all costs to others are simply casualties in the long run."
"There is all the difference in the world between helping another soul and exploiting their hardship for your own gain and deceiving yourself that they are the same," he continues, "I tried to show Jill that. But, I think she's already determined that the reason she does this job is not for the same reasons that we do. The rush of catching a suspect comes second to the excitement she gets when being praised for her achievement."
"What happened to her empathy," you wonder, "Empathy is a natural foundation in each of our lives, and our society functions on it! How could that not overpower her desire for recognition? I mean, for Christ's sake, her friend just died!"
"Unfortunately," he solemnly says, "It is harder to understand the motives of our peers than it is to profile a serial killer."
+++++
You wake as if there is an emergency, like sleeping had become a deadly thing, your heart pounds, and thoughts jumble throughout your brain. Shooting up from your seat, you crawl over a sleeping Rossi and stumble your way to the bathroom.
Your knuckles turn white as you grip the edge of the sink. Looking cautiously into the mirror, as if you are uncertain of what you'll see, you take in your ghostly appearance. Sweat beads drip down your forehead. Unable to comprehend the blurry remnants of your dream, you turn on the faucet and splash your face with cold water.
Upon exiting the bathroom, you notice everyone is sound asleep. Thank goodness no one noticed your state of panic. You notice that one overhead reading light is on and look to see Hotch awake and blankly staring out the window.
"Can't sleep either?" You ask, sitting across from him.
"Are you alright?" He asks, trying to deflect your attention.
You squint at him, unwilling to back down, "Are you?"
He looks at you intently, taking the sight of you in inch-by-inch. No one has asked him that over the past few weeks. In fact, everyone has seemingly been avoiding him since he was served his divorce papers. Perhaps they are doing it because they are unsure how to support him or genuinely feel that what he needs right now is space.
However, you know that being alone is the last thing he needs right now. "Hotch, I know it isn't my place, and I--I'm sorry if this is overstepping. But that expression on your face that you've worn for the past few weeks isn't foreign to me. Perhaps to everyone else, it is. They don't know what to do or say. You're their unit chief, and they are used to you being strong and keeping it together for the sake of everyone else."
He straightens his posture, his attention centered on you.
"I witnessed firsthand the ways that divorce can torment people. My parents got a sudden divorce when I was 14. It was unexpected to all of us. My father was unfaithful, and although my mom was willing to forgive him, he didn't want to put in the work anymore. He found a new outlet for his frustrations. I watched my mother and father waste away for years," you lament.
Hotch sits on the edge of his seat, his eyes trained keenly on you. It was odd for him to make a connection so quick, to give his trust so easily. In fact, he hardly trusts at all. Dave and Haley are the only ones who have really been given an insider's peek into the mind and heart of Aaron Hotchner. There was something in the way he listens so actively to what you are saying. You would be lying if you said you didn't notice his gaze aimed at your lips.
There is a sympathetic and heartfelt concern he shows for you, one second only to your own regard for him. He listens like he is absorbing your words. The longer you spend in each other's presence, the more you both realize that this is the kind of friendship you both have needed for far too long. Even if the words go unspoken, you share an empathetic understanding of one another, and you are sure it has been there since the day you met. Hotch has been fascinated by you since he watched your interview with Strauss over and over again, though he would never let it be known.
+++++
February 2008
Today is the day that you get to accompany Hotch and Reid on the Criminal Personality Research Project to interview Chester Hardwick before his execution. Hardwick's case is one you know inside and out. You wrote a research report on it that was awarded the Graduate Student Ethics Writing Competition winner for the American Psychological Association and was published in their Ethics and Behavior journal. Agent Hotchner suggested that you tag along, considering you know just as much about the case as Spencer does.
You and Spencer absentmindedly fiddle with the knickknacks that rest upon the desk as you wait to be escorted to see Chester Hardwick.
Hotch's phone begins to ring, and he answers it, "Yeah, J.J... Um, no, it's--It's a personal matter. Yes, thank you. I will take care of it when I get back."
"Everything okay?" You ask softly.
"Yeah, fine." He says abruptly.
"We can do this interview another time," Reid offers.
Aaron huffs, "Well, he is scheduled to be executed next week."
"I can take the lead on the interview if you w-" Reid unintentionally pushes.
You cut him off, "Reid."
Hotch shoots you an appreciative look.
Anytime sir.
"Agent Hotchner?" A relatively short man wearing freakishly petite glasses comes to the door.
The Unit Chief shakes the man's hand and introduces you and Spencer.
"You're here to see our infamous inmate Hardwick," the warden exclaims.
"Yes," you say, "He agreed to meet with us as part of our Criminal Personality Research Project before his execution."
The man smiles widely, "I've read your research on Hardwick many times. I must say, seeing your perspective on the mind of such a prolific killer was very enlightening."
You beam with pride at his commendation. Instinctively you look to Hotch, who appears to have the slight trace of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
You wonder, how can he go from scowling and frustrated one minute to fighting back the urge to smile at the mention of your achievements? You bite your lip to suppress any further needless excitement.
The warden continues to ramble, "Serial killers are kind of a hobby of mine. Chester is the only one I've ever met in person, though. I bet you've met quite a few."
"Sir," Hotch interjects, "We'd very much like to get started as soon as we can."
Time to put our serious pants back on.
You can visibly see your superior's annoyance, and you stifle a chuckle.
The warden quickly composes himself and apologizes for his enthusiasm, touching his hand to Hotch's shoulder in the process. Hotch's mouth falls agape, and his sights shoot to you. A small snort escapes you, and you cover your mouth, attempting to conceal it as a cough. He squints at you as if he is mentally murdering you. You crinkle your nose at him.
Don't mentally murder me when we are about to interview one of the most prolific killers of our time.
The warden leads you into the small cell that you will convert into a makeshift interrogation room. Soon enough, you hear the clanking of chains echoing in the hallway. Everyone's eyesight is fixed on the door.
A silver-haired man dressed in a yellow jumpsuit walks in with an air of arrogance and determination. He glares at Agent Hotchner, who mirrors the prisoner's actions exactly. Hotch states that keeping the prisoner chained will not be necessary, a call that both you and Spencer are unsure of.
Hardwick sits across from you and leans into the table, "I know you."
"And I know you. Too well, I think," you respond.
A menacing grin sweeps across his face, "Oh, I like you already. How about you send these two away so the grown-ups can talk."
You can hear your boss scoff from behind you.
"Chester, it's time to get serious."
"You were born April 4, 1950?" Spencer asks.
"Does my birthday really matter?"
"It's customary for us to start at the beginning. We want to know as much as we can about your childhood," Reid continues.
"There's nothing to know. It was average. I lived in a nice house on a quiet street. I ate cereal, went to school, watched cartoons."
"I don't have time for this," Hotch raises his voice, causing you to jump slightly, "You grew up in a series of projects, each one worse than the last. You spent your teenage years peeping into your female neighbors' windows and burglarizing their underwear drawers when you got the chance. You set 100 small fires for which you spent 2 years in juvenile detention."
You glance at Reid from the corner of your eye; you are both uncomfortable with the direction Hotch is taking this.
"We've done extensive research, Mr. Hardwick," you say, gently trying to soften the blow and appeal to the man's ego. If Hotch is taking the bad cop role, you need to be this psychopath's ally.
"We've talked to almost everyone you've ever known," you continue, "including your mother."
Chester swivels on the balls of his feet, "Good ol' Jean? I'll bet she was a real treat."
"At this point, lying to us isn't really possible or helpful," Spencer offers a slight smirk to the man.
"Y/N, right?" the prisoner turns his attention to you, "They're wrong. They're all wrong."
"About what, Chester?" You implore him.
"I started a lot more than one hundred fires," he peers out the window.
You look up at Hotch, and he sighs in surrender.
Chester antagonizes you three, stating that no one care's whether or not they hear the truth. In between his jabs, he strays to various different series of thoughts. Most are meaningless, but it is his way of trying to get under your skin. For you and Spencer, it is relatively easy to maintain your composure. For Hotch, however, Hardwick's digs do nothing but add fuel to the already lit flame under the special agent.
"Let's talk about the specifics of this case, Chester," you interrupt his rant, "Why did you choose Sheila O'Neal?"
He shakes his head, "You gotta show me a picture. I don't know their names."
As if you can feel Hotch's anger radiating off of his body, you brace yourself for the oncoming strike.
"Is that what this is all about," he says disgustedly, "Some chance for you to relive all of this?"
"I have an excellent memory," Chester brags.
You tune his impassionate speech out and focus your observance on your boss. His scalding stare at Hardwick can only translate one way, 'I have initiated my emotional indifference. I could kill you and not care one bit. So proceed with caution.'
"They were toys, a diversion," you hear Hardwick chant as you tune back into the present. Hotch looks anywhere but at the killer in front of him, his gaze eventually landing you. You are some kind of shelter to him that neither of you has yet acknowledged or come to understand.
Your stomach churns at Chester's descriptions of his victims. He describes them as useless objects that, once their purpose was served, were discarded like garbage.
"Why did you ask us here?" Hotch charges.
The wicked man looks at you, his eyes void of a soul and his stare sending a chill down your veins.
"I wanted to speak to her."
Your breath catches at the back of your throat.
With that, Hotch straightens up and fervently positions himself between Chester and you. "Reid, pack it up," he commands.
Reid looks to you, "Are you sure?"
"No, now." Your superior repeats himself with even more fervor. He presses the buzzer to signal the guards to release us and says, "Have a nice trip. You're going where you belong." Hotch makes sure to put as much distance between you and Hardwick as possible. He buzzes the ringer again. No response.
"It's 5:17," Hardwick chuckles.
You close your eyes, the reality of the situation finally sinking in. Reaching out for Hotch's arm, you lower his hand from the buzzer. "The evening yard begins at 5 o'clock. No one is going to come open that door for-"
"At least thirteen minutes," Chester disrupts. He waltzes over the table and takes one of the images of his victims into his hand. Holding it up as if to brag to us about it, he says, "And it took me less than five minutes to do this."
You push aside your worry. Instead, you choose to focus on all of the information you have accumulated over the years about Chester Hardwick. There has to be something you can use to your advantage to diffuse this situation.
"Perhaps in all of your research, you should have familiarized yourselves with the guard tones," Hardwick jeers.
"I heard the tones," Hotch counters in a monotone voice.
"So you planned to be locked inside with me, with no guns or weapons."
Hotch shakes his head, his voice more natural than before, "I won't need a gun."
Spencer places his hand on your arm and begins to guide you to the other side of the room.
"There's no way I am going to be executed next week," Chester taunts, kneading his hands together. "Not after I kill three FBI agents. You saved my life by coming here." His venomous words ring in your ears.
Hotch's tone deepens, "Unfortunately for you, I am not a five-foot-one-hundred-pound girl."
Your pulse quickens at Hotch's threat, and your attention is rapt by his display of dominance. He begins to shed his jacket. You feel yourself flushing; attraction suddenly entangles you as if it were an invisible rope.
Now is the worst possible time to be feeling this. Calm down.
"All of your life, you've gone after victims who couldn't fight back," he fiercely says, "and the rest of the time you spent looking over your shoulder." You understand the intensity in his tone and sense a great deal of emotion behind his words.
He rips his tie from his collar, and your breathing hitches in the back of your throat. Hopefully, Spencer doesn't notice, and if he does, he chalks it up to the deadly situation you find yourself in.
"You were always worried about the knock on the door," Hotch doesn't back down, "Scared that somebody like me would be on the other side waiting to put you away."
Well, if you keep ripping your tie off like th--no. Not gonna go there right now. Focus on the pyshco-killer threatening to kill you.
Now, Hotch intimidatingly points his finger directly at Hardwick.
If only I were on the receiving end of tha--no! Now. Is. Not. The. Time.
"At your core, you are a coward," Hotch fires.
You have to do something. Hardwick is enraged, and Hotch has nothing left to lose.
Without even giving it a second thought, you blurt out, "Chester, do you want to know why you killed those women?"
"What?" The prisoner hisses.
Spencer speaks up, "Earlier, you said you wished you were different. We can tell you why you are...what you are."
He begins moving towards you, and out of the corner of your eye, you notice your boss carefully making equal strides. You motion for him to stop.
"You can tell me why I did what I did?"
"I think so," you nod, "Don't you, Dr. Reid?"
"I do. Your mother is bipolar. And almost certainly an undifferentiated schizophrenic. Your father suffered severe shell shock in the war, what we now refer to as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. As far as I can tell, he remained clinically depressed the rest of his life."
"Exactly," you say, giving Spencer a chance to gather his thoughts after having thrown him under the bus.
"53% of all serial killers have some form of mental illness inherent to their families. Chester, in your case, both of your parents suffered from psychological disorders, which they essentially took out on each other as much as they beat you. So, violence sort of became a normal expression of love in your household," you say, eager to have some kind of breakthrough with him while subliminally directing Spencer's string of thoughts to follow yours.
Allowing Reid to pick up where you leave off, he takes charge of the conversation and explains how a portion of one's brain wants what it wants without conscience or judgment. A part of the brain that no doubt took over Hotch's reasoning powers moments ago, though you do not blame him.
"Earlier, you said your victims never had a chance. I think you know deep down that it was you that never really had a chance," he concludes. And with that victorious resolution, the guards unlock the door. Hotch storms out, and Reid follows behind.
"Is that true that I never had the chance?" Hardwick calls out after you both.
You stop in your tracks, "I don't know."
"Maybe," Spencer nudges you out the door.
++++
In the car, Hotch looks at you in the rearview mirror, "That was smart to get Hardwick to focus on himself long enough for the guards to come back."
You pat Spencer's shoulder, "I give all the credit to boy wonder and his beautiful statistic-filled brain. I'm sorry for all of the times I said you were running out of storage with all of that useless data."
"I find that I do some of my best work under intense terror," he declares, "Wait. Useless data? When did you say that?"
You pinch him softly and chuckle, "I'm kidding."
"I'm sorry," Hotch sighs.
You meet his gaze in the mirror once again, "For what?"
His chestnut eyes reveal pangs of remorse and guilt, but something tells you there's more to those feelings than what occurred at the prison.
"I antagonized the situation."
"No, you didn't," Spencer states.
"I certainly didn't help."
"Well, I can't argue with you there," you kid.
His piercing eyes suddenly twinkle, causing you to blush slightly. You quickly look down at your feet until your cheeks cool down.
Hotch sighs in defeat, "So Haley wants me to sign the divorce papers uncontested so that nobody wastes money on lawyers."
That statement is all too familiar to you. Yet again, your heart shatters for the Hotchners.
"You don't want to?" Spencer asks innocently.
He means well, but you know from experience that such a question only unleashes a tidal wave of painful emotions for the one fighting for his family.
"What I want, I'm not going to get," Hotch laments.
His eyes, once filled with depth, now distant and empty.
++++
Glancing up from your paperwork and into your supervisor's office, you take note of his gravity-drawn shoulders that carry the weight of the world on them. He repeatedly picks up a stack of papers and then drops them back down atop his desk, covering his face with his hands.
"What do you think is going on up there?" Derek asks, pointing his pen in the direction of the office.
"I might have an idea. I'm going to go take my report; anyone else's done?" They all hand you their paperwork for you to deliver to the boss.
You hesitate to knock on his door but apprehensively do so anyways.
He invites you in. Your heart sinks as you approach his desk, able to get a closer look at his beaten expression. You always knew he was hiding pain behind his tough exterior, but now he wears it on the surface, most likely unintentionally.
Placing the paperwork on his desk, you notice the heading on the papers he was gripping tightly.
SUPREME COURT STATE OF VIRGINIA: MARITAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT
Hotch's eyes move slowly, laboriously, to look at you as if it takes a concentrated effort to do so.
"Heartache is a real thing," you sympathize with him, "In fact, Reid even told me that a broken heart can show up on medical scans. When a heart breaks, your body and brain need time to recuperate. There's no set amount of time or remedy that will heal you. Don't set your expectations of yourself too high, and surround yourself with the people who love you."
His chin trembles, and his eyes flutter as he blinks back tears.
You turn to leave the room but look over your shoulder one last time, "We are all here for you, Hotch."
Just as you are about to shut the door, you hear him call out to you, "Y/L/N!"
His stare reveals a vulnerability you have had yet to see in him.
"Call me Aaron."

How do u think the negan/Maggie spin off will affect Beth’s return?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, so I got about 20 of these. Just posting a few of them here, but let's talk about this. This may be semi-lenthy.
First off guys, this really isn't a bad thing. It's actually very exciting. We finally have a concrete explanation for why they decided to end the flagship show and transfer the story into spinoff (s). And I'll admit the reason is a little different than I thought.
Tumblr media
The What and Why:
I've always said I thought it had to do with Kirkman ending the comics and legal issues surrounding that. Nothing bad. Just AMC needing to completely kosher for legal and business reasons as they move away from Kirkman's source material and into completely new material coming from it's own writers.
And I'm sure that still plays a part in the whole thing, though it may be more of a byproduct than a cause.
For those who don't know, the information that was released is that the decision has a lot more to do with streaming rights. AMC has an agreement with Netflix that says Netflix gets TWD episodes X amount of time after it airs for the life of the show.
Now, that was probably a super awesome agreement for AMC 10 years ago when Netflix was really the only streaming giant around. But obviously the world has changed a lot since then, especially in terms of technology. AMC has it's own streaming app now (as do most entertainment companies) and they want the streaming right to revert back to them.
Yes, it's definitely a money thing, but it's also a prudence thing as the TWDU expands.
The only way to legally and ethically accomplish this (i.e. without breaking the contract with Netflix which would probably result in legal action on Netflix's part, and rightly so) is to end the flagship series, which is part of that agreement, and move the show to new series which wouldn't be included in the Netflix contract.
Also, after the show ends, the clock starts ticking for Netflix and after a few years (not sure how many) the streaming rights to old seasons will revert to AMC anyway. So, that's why they're doing this. There's nothing illegal or immoral about it. They're just making business decisions for the future of TWDU.
So, that's what's going on. Now let's talk about the repercussions to the series.
What It Means for the Story:
First of all, this just backs up everything I've said since we first heard about the so-called "Daryl-Carol" spinoff. I've always said that was just the way they billed it, and that really, the ambiance of the show wouldn't change at all. It's the exact same show; it will just be moved to a new vehicle (spinoff series).
Tumblr media
All the same characters (barring any that are killed in S11) will still be part of the TWDU in one of the series.
So, we don't know how it will all play out, but it could be that they'll do many small, short-run series moving forward (much like The World Beyond) for different parts of the story. A season or two for Maggie and Negan. A season or two for Carol and Daryl (which for the record is, I think, the most likely one to include Beth stuff). Of course we know this Tales of the Walking Dead is in the works, which many of have speculated might include Beth's backstory. Of course there's still FTWD, and then wherever Rick and Michonne end up.
@galadrieljones even made the observation that maybe the Rick Grimes films were originally part of this Netflix agreement, and AMC is trying to change that, which might be part of the delays around those films.
I'm wondering if maybe they want to change the format all together. Films would have been super fun, but hardly anyone is going to the movies these days. Maybe they want to change them to short form series instead. Just speculation on my part. Maybe we'll still get movies. We simply don't know.
Why Is This a Good Thing?
Think about all the stories I just listed above. That's a lot of narrative to go through. If they tried to do that with only one series, it would take a LONG time. I mean, they could spend an entire half-season, and in many cases, an entire season, on each of these. And that always means each story moving more slowly as they try to tell them all at the same time.
But by breaking them out into individual spinoffs, we can get several stories, moving faster, and told at the same time. We can feasibly have new TWD content year-round.
Does that enable our TWD addiction? Of course! But you won't hear me complaining.
As I keep saying, this show isn't going anywhere for a long time.
Maggie/Negan Spinoff
So, this is actually REALLY interesting. My peeps and I have batted a lot of ideas around about it.
First off, several of my fellow theorists, especially @frangipanilove, has talked a lot about New York and how she's thought maybe the storyline, especially as concerns the CRM, might go to New York eventually. We also had Ithaca, NY mentioned in TWB. So, we're seeing that NY has something to do with the CRM. We just don't know exactly what.
The main connection is through the apple symbolism. New York is often referred to as "The Big Apple."
And now, what do you know? One of the spinoffs is headed to New York. Isn't TD symbolism great?
Tumblr media
The real question is why they would end up going to New York together. I have one theory on what might spur Maggie to head to New York, but I'm not sure how Negan will factor in yet.
We've long theorized that the kids (i.e. Judith, RJ, Gracie, Hershel) might be kidnapped at some point. And over the past few years, I've come to believe it will specifically be by the CRM.
So, our basic theory right now is that Hershel will be taken and Maggie is going to New York to look for him. Again, not sure why Negan would go, but I'm sure that will become clear as we near the end of S11. (And of course, that's assuming this theory pans out; we just can't think of any reason would leave Hershel and go so far away without him, especially in Negan's company. But if she's going TOWARD Hershel, that's a different thing entirely.)
Now, I think I have two distinct pieces of evidence that make this scenario with Hershel very likely.
The first is the plot of 10x17, Home Sweet Home. I'm pretty sure I said this at the time, but what happened in that episode felt like a foreshadow of a bigger arc to me. So, we had a disaster and Hershel went missing. Maggie and Daryl went and looked for him, and found him at the end of the episode.
Tumblr media
But my contention was that, sometime in the future, Hershel would go missing in much bigger way, and Maggie would have to search for him. Only the bigger arc would span many episodes, not just one. So, I'm wondering if that's what the Maggie/Negan spinoff will be based around.
The other thing is a very minor spoiler from 11x12. It's not a plot spoiler, just a symbolism one.
At one point, Daryl hands Hershel a small crate of apples. Not only do apples represent separation and later reunion, but as I said above, apples might also represent New York.
So, here's the thing, guys. I've been thinking about this for a day or two, now. Everyone wants to know where I think these spinoffs are going. This is my best theory/guess for now, based on past symbolism we've seen.
Just understand my theories will probably evolve as we learn more.
So, here goes. We never actually saw apples around Beth, that I recall. The symbolism of the apple most definitely applies to her, but we never saw her, for example, bite into an apple while at Grady or anything.
Who DID we see bite into an apple, though?
Tumblr media
Rick and Michonne. Back in 6x15 (I think?) there was a bedroom scene where they woke up together. There was an apple on the table and they both took a bite of it. I didn't know what it meant at the time, but for several seasons now (since we knew about Rick's death fake out, really) I've realized that foreshadowed their coming separation, followed by reunion.
If you think about it, we had a series of hints of this since S6. We had the apple, then a few episodes later, in S7, we met Jadis for the first time, who eventually would take Rick into the CRM. And of course in 7x12 we had a much more obvious foreshadow of Rick's death fake out at the carnival.
Another apple reference? When Michonne is with Virgil on the ship and finds Rick's boots, she also finds a phone with what looks like a sketch of her and Judith scratched into it. There isn't any branding on the phone (probably for legal/trademark purposes) but it looks an awful lot like an iphone. Which is also called Apple.
Tumblr media
So, my theory at this juncture is that the Maggie/Negan/NY spinoff will lead to Rick and Michonne. The Daryl/Carol spinoff will lead to Beth.
And honestly, this is why there's so much symbolism that sometimes seems to contradict. It gets really jumbled because some of it probably points to Rick and other stuff points to Beth. All of it revolves around the CRM, so it's nearly impossible to disentangle the two.
We've also discussed that maybe the kids are taken, but taken to different places by the CRM. So, maybe Judith is taken West (think New Mexico symbolism, which we've heard heavily around Daryl and Carol; when they were out in the woods together; on Daryl's bike; talking about leaving) while Hershel is taken North to New York. So it might be a matter of the two groups splitting up to go get each kid, you know?
(And of course this is pure conjecture. We have no idea if it will play out this way. Just some ideas we've batted around. But again, based on templates we've observed in the past, especially templates from Find Me and Diverged, it makes a lot of sense.)
Heck, I’ll even point to the fact that the “Don’t Dead Open Inside” doors are on the Maggie/Negan spinoff poster. That’s always been a Rick thing. And there’s a sign for the “Lincoln” tunnel. Just saying.
For those who are still worried about Beth showing up at all:
I get it, but consider this. If Rick is alive, but Beth isn't, why would they send Daryl and Carol somewhere else? Narratively, it doesn't make any sense. Why not have all four main characters go to the place where they'll happen to run into Rick?
There must be something specific that pulls Daryl elsewhere. Something that keeps him from going with Maggie. I wonder what THAT could be. *sarcasm*
I'll even take it a step further: he helped Maggie find Hershel in HSH, so it would make sense that he would go with her in the bigger arc. But from what we know of the two spinoffs, that doesn't see to be the case. So, why would they have put him in that episode with her?
Well, again, if he's looking for Judith, or one of the other kids, it makes sense. He'll still be searching for someone, just not Hershel.
I'll point one other thing out as well. During Home Sweet Home, when Maggie are searching for a missing child together, whose name was mentioned for the first time in 5+ seasons? That would be Beth. 👀
Tumblr media
One last thing to address about this spinoff: I'm seeing that a lot of people are upset because we now know that these four main characters (Daryl, Carol, Maggie, Negan) will survive season 11.
I mean, I get it, but because I've never thought the spinoffs were quite what they pretended they would be, I never thought any of these characters would die before the end of S11 anyway. They all still have too much story to tell.
From a marketing perspective, they also have to create hype about the spinoffs. As someone who does fiction marketing, let me just tell you how difficult it can be to get the audience to jump series. If the stories are well told, you can be very successful, but you have to get your marketing ducks in a row and that means creating hype. So, I'm not surprised they're announcing it now.
And if we want these series to do well and the TWDU to continue, we kinda need to support that.
Daryl and Carol Spinoff
I don't have tons more to say about this right now. People are asking why we already have a title and graphic for the Maggie/Negan spinoff, but we don't have one for the Daryl/Carol spinoff.
Obviously, I don't know. But my guess would be that it's because it's not quite what they've told us it will be, and when we get the title and graphic for it, that will be obvious.
So, we keep joking that, if it's really going to be the Daryl/Carol Honeymoon Roadshow (what the Carylers want) then why don't they just title that and give us a romantic Daryl/Carol graphic for it?
Because that's NOT what it's going to be. Otherwise they would have done that already. Whatever the title ends up being might make it obvious that this is just an extension of the flagship show and not what many shippers believe it will be. So, they're holding off.
It also could be that putting out stuff about it might suggest some spoilers for how S11 will end, and they don't want to reveal too much. It was just safer to put out info about the Maggie/Negan one without giving much away.
I want to mention that I've theorized about what would make Daryl and Carol take off together for a long time. One thing I considered was him hearing Rick's voice on a radio or finding out about Rick in some way. But I also considered him going after the kids. And it's something I considered long before we know what we know now.
What made me think that? Because of the template set forth in TWB. You'd have to go back and read my analysis from S1 of that show, but Felix and Huck are clearly proxies for Carol and Daryl. And the reason they set out at the beginning of that series is because two kids (teenagers in that case, so older than Judith and Hershel, but still) who were in their charge, left, and they went after them.
Tumblr media
I mean, it fits exactly. Because in TWB, Hope and Iris aren't Felix and Huck's children. They are just kids who were left in their charge while their father is in NEW YORK (or so they think.) That lines up perfectly with Daryl taking care of Rick and Michonne's kids, and Rick possibly being in New York. I'm just mentioning.
Another question I have is, what will be the "main" series moving forward. What I mean is, will they do multiple small series, as I talked about above, and then eventually bring them all back into one, main series? Or will the Daryl/Carol spinoff be the main series, and all the other characters will eventually rejoin it?
I kind of think the latter is most likely, and that may be the reason that 1) it was the first one announced and 2) they aren't giving us the name of it yet. It's going to be the main, flagship series moving forward. But, we can't know for sure, and we'll just have to wait and see.
Either way, I think they'll do all these little series for a while, but eventually I think TF (and maybe even Fear and TWB characters) will converge into one series which will be the bulk of the CRM war.
Okay, so I've rambled WAY too much about this for one day. Overall, I'm excited by this revelation. It's confirming things we've theorized for a while. I still firmly believe Beth is involved in the CRM storyline, and the Carol/Daryl spinoff will most likely lead to him finding her. So, this is all just leading to the ultimate CRM war and all the storylines around it that will play out.
So, I'm on board. Thoughts?

"Not My Yacht" *Chapter 1?*
Tumblr media
So this is interesting:
So "Not My Yacht" was my very first fic. Like, I'm talking VERY VERY first.
So when I started asking around about ideas for a new series, a few of my lovelies went through my one shots and this story and "Doodling" got some good votes.
So, I decided to include the one shot and just added to it for a POTENTIAL new series. We'll see how this chapter goes over.
Also I'll be including Rita Calhoun in this for the FIRST time ever, so I may need assistance from @storiesofsvu to get her voice right. I did my best here. I'll be honest I've never really watched her, just that one where that guy blackmailed her or something.
Also Also, if it wasn't obvious enough this is obviously the beginning of the SVU episode "Her Negations".
I don't want to give anything away because I haven't even really thought that far, but I'm 95% sure this is going to turn in a William Lewis situation fic. So...pretty dark. I'm just warning you NOW.

And yes, the results are in. There is a part 2!
You breathed in the salty air of the sea of the sunny South Hampton shore; It was a beautiful day for a yacht party.
You walked along the pier as you got closer to your boss’s boat: The Crime Wave. Her husband’s idea of a funny name she claimed as she had invited people from the office to this soiree. You were lucky to even get an invite, just being the assistant to the owner of the law firm. “Who else is going to help me dodge boring conversations with men who just wanted a "free ride” on the bosses boat?“ She had teased you; or at least you hoped she was kidding.
You really wanted to just relax and mingle among the elite lawyers of NYC, seeing as you wanted to be one of them someday.
You saw your boss, Rita Calhoun waving you down as you reached the dock space.
"Ah! There you are, for a minute I thought I’d have to mix my own drinks!” She laughed with a wink. You laugh nervously, unable to discern if she was kidding.
“Calm down sweetie, I’m a big girl. Besides, I like to make them myself, strong,” she laughed again, patting your shoulder. Crap had your face looked that panicked? Keep it cool!
“Go ahead, enjoy yourself. I’ll be here, making sure none of those damn punks tries to sneak on here for free booze,” she scoffed, nodding to a group of highly dressed teens playing chicken on the shoreline.
You nodded with a half laugh, stepping onto the yacht. It was a decent size, a second level deck and a very spacious main level. Not a lot of people had arrived yet, so you decided to pick a spot on the yachts back bench area before all the seating was taken. You began removing your over clothes revealing your swimming wear when you hear Rita greet someone else.
“Ah, Barba. You know we have flare guns on board,”
You turn to see the ADA of New York, Rafael Barba. He’s dressed in a windbreaker and what could be either a dark red or salmon polo. You realize Mrs. Calhoun is referring to the almost neon yellow color of the windbreaker, and you can’t help but giggle. It must have been way too loud because they both turn to you which caused you to immediately shut up and go back to undressing and laying out your towel, but ever so slightly still honed in on the conversation.
“You can never be too careful Rita, who knows how many enemies I’ve made in this town; someone might throw me over,” he smirked.
“And anyone here could make it look like a very convincing accident….even my aspiring protege over there,” Rita nods over to you, knowing full well what you were doing.
Barba turned and looked at you, your body frozen in mid towel thrust. You didn’t know whether to throw it over yourself or just run off the boat right there.
“I know it’s an awful jacket dear, you don’t have to keep staring at him.” She called over to you. God why did she have to be so….her.
“Jesus Rita give the girl a break, or did you invite her just to torture her on unbillable hours?” Barba scoffed with a half smile, walking over to you.
“Is it really worth the minimum wage to put up with her?” He asked.
“Mmm…it’s more for the experience, honestly.” You replied surprisingly smoothly.
“Oh….well I mean I could give you the experience without–” He started but was interrupted by your boss’s loud exclaiming.
“Yeah I’ll BET you’d give her experience Barba! Stop hitting on my intern and mingle with the adults.”
If you could dig a hole straight through the boat into the ocean you would do it right then and there.
“…..Without THAT.” He rolled his eyes, lightly flipping her the bird behind his back. You see her respond with a laugh then turns her attention back to the guests boarding.
“She’s probably been drinking since she got on the boat, yeah?” He asked you.
“I…I don’t know I just got here….” You managed to squeak out as your towel strayed from your hands. Barba grabbed it and helped you reposition it on the bench.
“Kinda windy for a yacht party, but Rita will take any chance to celebrate anything remotely resembling a boost to her ego. Am I right?” He chuckled, before sitting down on your towel.
“Just to keep it from blowing away, do you mind?” He asked, gesturing for you to join him. You nodded a boisterous “NO”, plopping next to him on the bench.
“I’m Rafael Barba,” he extended his hand to you, which you took and shook gently, praying to God he didn’t notice you were literally shaking. You had probably had the biggest crush on him since you started working with Mrs. Calhoun, he was constantly in her office challenging her with warrants and favors.
“Oh yeah I know,” you blurted out, mentally facepalming immediately.
“I see….” He raised an eyebrow. “And you are….?”
You were about to answer when his phone went off. He answered it putting one finger up and mouthing the words “one second.”
“Barba. Yeah….what? Seriously, Olivia? On a Sunday?!” He groaned into his phone with an exaggerated eye roll. He raised his hand and ran it over his face begrudgingly as he talked.
“Yeah….alright, fine. Yeah I’ll be there, give me an hour. I’m in the Hamptons. Because it’s my day off, Liv! Do you think I lock myself in my office over the weekends like a vampire in a coffin? Yeah…I’m sorry, I just…” He glanced at you.
“I was enjoying my Sunday.” He gave you a small sad smile.
“Yeah. Ok. See you soon.” He hung up the phone with an exasperated sigh.
“I’m sorry, I gotta go back to the city. Don’t let Rita push you around too much, okay?” He chuckled, rubbing the top of your head like a puppy. You felt your face scrunch up in annoyance, seriously? He thought of you as a kid?!
He obviously noticed, and quickly held out his hand again very sternly.
“Sorry, future counselor.” He said in an overly serious tone, and you couldn’t stop yourself from giggling. Again. Like an idiot.
Relieved he had fixed his faux paux, he gave you one last beautiful Barba grin as he jogged over to Rita and told her something before nodding to you once again, then walked off the boat and disappearing down the pier.
Your boss sauntered over to you, a shit eating grin across her face.
“Well Cinderella, you sure kept that cool.” She gestured for your phone beside you.
“Be sure to tell him your name this time,” she winked, handing it back to you. You glanced down at it as she walked away; she had added a number to your contacts.
“BHole Barba.” You laughed out loud. Nice. Maybe she wasn’t such a horrible boss after all….
--------------
By Monday you still hadn’t had the balls to text Rafael Barba. You had just stared at the number in your phone, imagining all the possibilities contacting him would lead to. You may have gotten so far as planning your summer wedding in the Hamptons, but nobody needed to know that.
But you had chickened out and left it alone, and now you were sitting at your desk typing up a memo for Rita when you saw him come waltzing through the door.
“Ah, Cinderella!” He smiled at you.
“Hey…” Your mind went blank, you couldn’t think of words. Wait, had he already given you a nickname?
“Cinderella?” You blinked in confusion.
“Well I never caught your name-- But I guess I shouldn’t even push it, you’ve clearly moved on and I must seem like a creep,” His train of thought proceeded out loud as he realized you hadn’t taken his number and here he was still flirting with you. Rita had given it to you, he had seen her type it in your phone. Obviously you weren’t interested, why was he pushing this?
“What? NO!” You said a little louder than you intended, actually a lot louder than you intended. You slapped your hand over your mouth after your little outburst, but to you relief he was still smiling.
“Oh? Well I suppose that’s good…” He was obviously fishing for your excuse as to why you had waited until he popped back in your face to talk to him.
“No, I um--” You racked your brain for an excuse that wasn’t “I was busy planning our lives together”.
“I….couldn’t think of something interesting to say,” You finally admitted with a pitiful sigh. You were not a good liar, and under pressure, forget about it.
Again, he still smiled-- but this time he laughed along with it.
“I mean, ‘Hello’ is always an option,” He chuckled. “Or...your name?”
“Oh!” Idiot. You hadn’t even given him your name, how was he supposed to fall madly in love with you without a name?
“Y/N,” You stuck your hand out awkwardly, Was this a ‘shake hands’ moment? Hadn’t you already met before? You stared at your hand as you moved it slightly back and forth, arguing with yourself whether or not this was necessary. Luckily, Rafael settled the argument by taking your hand and shaking it firmly.
His hands were so soft, his long fingers enveloped yours in them. You lost yourself in the moment, and before you knew it he was making an uncomfortable cough, snapping you back to reality. You dropped his hand and snapped yours back into your body like a zip cord, your face in a horrified stare.
“Oh God, I’m so sorry, that was so weird. I’m weird. I’m--”
“Well I don’t know what you were so worried about Cinderella, you’re clearly a chatterbox,” He gave you a tongued smile, referring to the word vomit you just couldn’t help spill all over him.
“Oh yeah, I’m a total word machine,” You laughed nervously. A word machine? What the fuck was that?
“...Word machine. Right,” He nodded in amusement. “Well word machine, would you mind shooting some words to my phone, or do you just enjoy this face to face thing?”
“With that face? Definitely the latter. But you can have my number anyway,” You typed a quick message and sent it to his number. Damn that was smooth! How did you do that?
Rafael made an impressed face with your line, but when he opened his phone his brows furrowed.
“Hit?” He gave you a curious look as he read the text out loud.
“Fuck it was supposed to be ‘hi’-- stupid autocorrect,” You muttered angrily. Yeah, that was more like you.
“Oh yes, the dreaded autocorrect,” He nodded while saving your number. “Turning fucks into ducks since 2011,”
“Oh I didn’t have a phone in 7th grade but I’ll take your word for it,” You laughed, but stopped when his face twisted into a mix of horror and discomfort when he realized how young you actually were.
Dammit. Why...why would you do this?
“....Right, is Rita in?” He quickly shoved his phone back in his pocket and headed into Rita’s office before you could answer.
“...Idiot!” You yelled at yourself as your hands went over your face and your face planted into your desk.
Well, that was nice while it lasted. All 2.5 seconds of it.
-----------------
“Well Barba, about time,” Rita smirked as Rafael abruptly burst into her office trying to get away from you. “Done flirting with the intern are we?”
“Shut up,” He rolled his eyes, though his face was a deep shade of red.
“Oh no, what happened? Did your dentures fall out in front of her?” She smirked.
“I’m younger than you!!” He scoffed.
“Yeah but I’m not the one trying to boff a 25 year old,” She smirked harder, making Rafael angrier.
“Can I just get the warrant I came here for, Rita?” He huffed.
“Oooh, struck a nerve there, did I?” Rita chuckled as she grabbed some papers from her desk and started to hand them to him. “Barba, for the record I’m really not judging you. If I were 20 years younger, I’d hit it too,”
“Excuse me?”
“I had a lot of ‘cats’ in college,” She winked.
“Wow,” Rafael held up his hands. “Rita, we really don’t need to be that personal.”
“Fine, but all I’m saying is if you like the girl, don’t let a stupid thing like age deter you. Don’t tell her I said this, but she’s actually very competent and organized. I would almost prefer her not to graduate, unless she'd come work for me. She’s going to be a hell of a lawyer,” She gestured outside to your desk.
Rafael looked at the ground as he mulled over what she was saying, a small smile crawled across his lips as she complimented your potential.
“I’ll take that under advisement, Mrs. Calhoun,” He nodded as he walked towards the door with the papers in his hand, a huge smile across his face now.
He walked out to find you cursing at yourself and whimpering in embarrassment at your desk. When you heard the door shut you snapped to attention and stared at him, shocked he hadn't sprinted out of the office like Usain Bolt. Even more shocking was that Cheshire cat grin now upon his face.
“I-I’m sorry, I totally meant I was--” You tried doing math trying to make yourself reasonably older.
“It’s fine,” He chuckled as he put a hand over your counting fingers. You blushed at the touch of his skin on yours again, but quickly shoved your hands under the desk nervously as you tried not to look him square in the eye. His eyes were so gorgeous you were positive staring straight into them would actually get you pregnant.
“So does Rita ever unchain you from this desk?” He smirked as he was now very aware and very amused at how nervous he made you. He may be old, but clearly he’s still got it.
“Oh yeah, if I ask very nicely she let’s me--” You tried to think of something witty, but it wasn’t coming with him staring at you with those eyes. “....Yes,” You wanted to put your hands over your face but you didn’t want it to be a ‘thing’.
“Well, maybe if you’re an extra good girl she’ll let you off your leash early tonight,” He winked.
“....Am I a dog or a toddler in that situation?” You were genuinely asking, but Rafael clearly realized how insulting that must have seemed.
“Oh no no no, I just, shit,” He tried to backtrack but if he was being totally honest, you made him nervous. Maybe he didn’t have ‘it’ as much as he thought.
You noticed he was the one blushing now, oh my god were you making him nervous? QUICK, BE SMOOTH. BE SMOOTHER THAN YOU’VE EVER BEEN IN YOUR LIFE.
“Are you asking me out, counselor?” You did your best “sultry “voice with a bat of your eyes. Were you batting them too much? What was too much? Oh god you’ve done it for too long now. STOP BATTING.
“...I don’t know, guess you’ll have to wait for me to text you, future counselor,” He was impressed by the line, and decided to bow out before either of you made idiots of yourselves again. He gave you a wink and sauntered out of the office.
Great. Now he’ll probably make you wait two days for a--
*BEEP*
Your phone went off in your desk. You pulled it out to see a text message:
BHOLE BARBA: Dinner? Tonight?
You really needed to change his contact name. But that wasn’t the point right now. He just asked you out. Rafael Barba just asked you out. You stared at in your hands, unsure of what to do. Then you realized you couldn’t do this again, you couldn’t just sit there and imagine things, this required an immediate response.
You nervously typed a reply and hit SEND:
Sire ;)
“DAMMIT!!!” You cursed your autocorrect. You instantly sent another text.
Sure***
Before you could lecture yourself again, your phone beeped again:
BHOLE BARBA: Play
Play? What did that--
BHOLE: Okay** ;)
You typed the word ‘okay’ into your text reply bubble, ‘play’ came up in the autocorrect word list.
He was joking with you. He was flirting with you. RAFAEL BARBA WAS FLIRTING WITH YOU.
This work day could not end fast enough.

2x11 The Witch's Quickening
Hey Arthur, remember last time you were on a manhunt in Camelot and it led you to Morgana's chambers, and she talked you out of searching them and later admitted that she'd been hiding a fugitive in there? Have you learned NOTHING
And Merlin too, he doesn't like, double back and confront Morgana or suggest Arthur do that?
Why is Arthur yelling at Merlin so much in this? Who wrote this episode.
::Coin watch the show instead of playing on her phone challenge::
Morgana being manipulated by a nine year old
Why is Arthur insulting the food as if Merlin cooked it himself? Every other meal he brings up is from the palace kitchens but on this occasion Merlin cooked himself? Ok.
Even the fkin dragon is OOC in this ep
Morgana is so much more intelligent than this.
Gaius needs to bring this to Uther in the throne room like a member of the public? He couldn't get a private audience with the king? Ok.
I really don't remember this episode being so terrible, maybe I'm in a bad mood.
You know, not for nothing, but from Mordred's perspective Merlin is being an absolute dick, not only siding with the oppressor but actively working to sabotage their plans and hurt their people. As we, the audience, are privy to the reasons behind this, WE don't necessarily questions Merlin's actions, WE know he's after the crystal because he's trying to prevent Mordred and Morgana from teaming up and bringing harm to Arthur - that's all good and well but like... Merlin could never bring himself to kill Mordred because he's just a boy, but yet he's allowed the boy to go off and become somewhat radicalized (I say 'somewhat' because honestly, it's not all that radical to plot to overthrow the king that has been waging a genocidal war against your people for twenty fucking years) without ever trying to bring him into the fold. If Merlin had explained his and Arthur's destinies to the boy, made an argument for waiting out Uther's reign in the hope that Arthur's reign will bring peace and magic back to Camelot, but which may not happen if he sees his father killed by sorcerers, and explained his reasons for hiding who he is from Morgana, regardless of Mordred's ultimate destiny to be Arthur's doom, Merlin would've at least had a shot at cultivating an alliance or at very least an understanding between them. Instead, all Mordred sees is this supremely powerful sorcerer who isn't even a druid, serving the very people that would bring an end to their entire race if they could. Although, it seems as tho Mordred has forgotten who exactly snuck him out of the castle and back to the druid camp in three first place. Makes you wonder if Morgana never explained to him that she was believed to have been kidnapped when they found her with the druids last time, and that she went along with that lie for her own safety.
Tl;dr: communication is important kids!
Do I even need to point out how much sense Morgana's little tiff with Uther did not make? Or her sudden distrust of Gwen? If anything she should think Gwen would be an ally considering a) her father was killed by Uther, as an innocent victim of Uther's war on magic, b) Gwen was party to Morgana's previous involvement in aiding and abetting a druid fugitive, c) Gwen L-I-T-E-R-A-L-L-Y sacrificed herself to save Morgana from Hengist's men, the is zero reason to question Guinevere's loyalty to Morgana, and d) Gwen has never said a WORD against sorcery or hinted at any kind of prejudice against druids or anyone with magic.
I looked up the writing credit for this, it's Jake Michie who is also credited with some fantastic episodes like Lancelot, Beauty and the beast, and the Lamia to name a few. It was directed by Alice Troughton who has also done some good eps, including other eps written by Jake Michie, so like I really don't understand what went wrong here.
Oh God there's a commentary track on this episode. I don't wannnnnaaaaaa but maybe I'll learn something, like why it turned out the way it did.
Commentary by Julian Murphy, Alice Troughton, and Katie. I do not have high hopes.
Katie right off the bat explaining shit that's important to note, God I love her on these tracks. Apparently, this was one of the last things to be shot (Merlin films everything out of order and films several episodes concurrently, depending on filming location.) and it was being shot while three other episodes were being wrapped up - so they had FOUR episodes filming concurrently and a lot of THIS episode was directed by Julian Murphy, and Jeremy shot some of it as well. This COULD explain a lot of the inconsistency, but I question how much since Julian seems to be involved in filming lots of scenes in lots of episodes. But I guess it's possible that just that on top of the rush to finish and the pressure of so many spinning plates in the air right at the end. They've just said that for this episode they had the least amount of days to shoot it out of all the episodes they've done, which is partly why they had so much going at once. It's as good a reason as any to explain it being so off, but I don't really see that explaining the wildly off characterization.
Katie going on the whole thing about Alvarr-as-revolutionary and Alice picks up on Morgana's sort of desire to be in that position and they're having a quite meaningful discussion then Julian:I think she just thinks he's hot 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
Katie says the script changed a lot even as it was filming, and that things were being changed as it was filmed so I'm kind of thinking for whatever reason this entire thing was a mess and that's why it came across looking so disjointed to me.
At least Julian realize the soup scene was terrible.
Idk why they're ganging up on Katie over the chemistry between her and Alvarr. She says she wasn't playing it that way and that she wasn't feeling it and they're just like "yea uh huh sure."
They're talking about having two units filming like a few feet away from each other in the forest, while there is another two units going in France.
Julian says they had added Alvarr's girlfriend in because they wanted to dramatize his charisma and calculation... but it's not manipulation - ?????????? Someone get the man a dictionary. 'We added a random blonde in four him to kiss so that the audience knows he's got a girl already, who sees him working his charm on Morgana and comments on it 'you played her well', but Alvarr isn't actually manipulative' ??????????
Tumblr media
They've just pointed out two entire significant beats within a sequence that was constructed on set and off script. Arthur's confrontation with Alvarr in the forest and Merlin's slow motion tracking the crystal to show its got a powerful draw. The more they describe the specifics of filming the more it sounds like an utter disaster which kind of makes me feel bad for being so harsh on the episode.
I keep having to rewind to focus on what they're saying and I feel like I've been watching this episode for about 4 hours.
Tumblr media
Awkward bit of prop-exposure there. Trying to work out what LK could even stand for.
Idk everyone's really happy with this scene between Morgana and Uther and I'm still sitting here thinking the dialogue was utterly ridiculous.
They talked about changing that final scene, where Uther clearly knows/suspects it was Morgana who helped Alvarr escape, so that it doesn't prematurely push the story too far ahead. They cut a look Morgana gives Merlin which, rightfully so, because it would've been too much too soon. The ending to this episode still feels wholly unsatisfying to me. I understand the little tag with the dragon yelling for Merlin to release him, I don't mean that, but the ending to the main story where Alvarr just escapes and Uther not only accepts that but also accepts that Morgana must've helped him. Overall Uther's been entirely sort of neutered throughout this episode, which I understand that partially has to do with it being Morgana, but like, in previous episodes when she's been so defiant against him, he's had her by the throat and locked her in a dungeon overnight. So I just doubt understand him being so subdued here, especially since he directly threatened her when he found pr Mordred escaped, and now another druid's escaped and he essentially knows she was involved given how she spoke to him, yet he doesn't do anything? Just wildly inconsistent behavior.
Anyway apologies for overanalyzing this episode, I realize I tore it apart pretty thoroughly during the commentary and the post became quite long. I wish there was a way to add a cut on mobile but there isn't. I'll have the S2 finale post up in a few hours - I might hold off on posting until I've watched the extras, I didn't do that for S1 but then I felt the extras didn't quite warrant a whole post on their own, so I might just tack on any thoughts I have to the 2x12 post. We'll see.

In defense of Finn
Alright so I've been seeing many posts about Finn "using" and "manipulating" Sean.
But I'd like to clarify a few things.
Let's start back at the very beginning, let's go over a few things.
Warning: This is fucking long. Grab a snack.
Tumblr media
Sean first meets Finn when he encountered Cassidy playing her guitar for money. Curious Finn decides to introduce himself to Sean and Daniel.
As Cassidy and Sean have a side conversation, Finn is just starring longingly at Sean the whole time, like a love-at-first-sight type of thing. Or at least he seemed a bit infatuated with Sean. He hardly takes his eyes off him the whole time until they decide to leave. When this first aired I've seen speculation that Finn seen Sean as some sort of rival for Cassidy which could have been a reason he was checking him out the whole time or sizing him up but after seeing episode 3, I believe he had a look of adoration for him.
Episode 3:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Right off the bat Finn is expressing his obvious attraction towards Sean, and the wink, don't even get me started on the wink.
After work Sean is feeling a little beat up, takes a moment before he gets out of the truck.
Tumblr media
Finn was the only one to stay behind to check up on Sean, seeing how down he was after their long day of work.
Tumblr media
"Aww, you'll get scars, but, you'll get it. Part of the fun, and...sexier."
Ah there he goes, commenting how he finds Sean's scarred up, calloused hands sexy.
It seems like every time he shoots his shot, such as risky compliments, he quickly changes the subject. As if he's afraid of Sean's reaction or response.
He opens up to Sean about his past with his father, which couldn't have been easy but it seemed like Sean had deemed himself trustworthy enough for Finn to tell him about who he was before he got to where he is. It's not a subject one easily talks about.
Finn doesn't sugar-coat anything either, he tells it like it was. He was being vulnerable, and you could tell he had trouble talking about it.
Later that night, sitting around the campfire, they talk about their worst memory. Both Sean and Finn choose not to comment but it's worth noting Finn already kinda told Sean one of his worst memories, his own dad narced, giving Finn and his brothers jail time.
The player is giving the option to either go to bed early with Daniel or get a haircut and hang a bit more with the gang.
Tumblr media
"Hans and I aren't together, sweetheart."
When Sean asks Finn and Hans how long they've been together or asks why they don't sleep in the same tent, they both laugh and Finn tells him they're just fuck-buddies. Then places his hand on his thigh as if he's reassuring Sean that there's nothing between him and Hans.
Finn then expressed his sexuality, showing Sean he likes both guys and girls.
If Sean tells the group he finds boys cute, Finn is quick to ask what his type is.
Cassidy tells Finn to slow his roll, and Finn confidently says, "He knows I'm cute."
Now If Sean tells the group he finds boys attractive, Finn won't take Hans up on her offer for a one-night stand, claiming he's too tired.
Tumblr media
Then turns to Sean to give him a small smile.
He sees he has a chance with Sean and it's not just all in his head, so he turns her down because he actually wants to pursue Sean in a romantic sense and doesn't want to mess up his chance with him.
The next day they go collect their pay but Daniel is being a lil shit like always and fucks that up. Big Jo pins Daniel to the ground and Daniel makes an ashtray fly at Jo's head, Big Jo gets furious and asks the group who was responsible for the act. If Sean says nothing, Finn takes the blame.
Tumblr media
He puts his arm out in front of Sean as if to protect him and keep big Jo's attention on Finn.
Finn is a true ride or die, willing to take the blame if it means protecting the ones he loves.
Afterwards it seems like he holds no hard feelings about taking a punch for the two, Daniel shows the group his power and they think it's pretty awesome and promise not to tell anyone.
This is where Finn comments how the place is loaded with cash, suspicious Cassidy asks Finn how he plans on getting into the safe, he looks at Daniel as if to suggest they could use his power. Cassidy gets furious and tells Finn his idea was stupid and would only lead to them in jail.
When Cassidy asks Finn how he could be so selfish, he automatically snaps back, "Sean and Daniel are out of work, they deserve this!"
That was his first thought, meaning he only had Sean and Daniel's best interest in mind when he thought of the idea, I doubt he would have even considered the idea if the events of earlier such as the brothers getting fired didn't happen.
Seeing as this was their last night together Finn wanted to make sure they left with money, so they'd be able to take care of themselves.
But Cassidy yells at him, demanding he can't involve the kid into his bullshit, Sean adds in that he wouldn't have let Daniel do it in the first place.
Finn, seeing as he's outnumbered in this, decides to leave while telling Sean they should have a beer and forget about his lil brain fart.
As he leaves Cassidy warns him again, Finn looking like a kicked puppy, walked away with his head down.
As Sean joins him, sitting down on the log, Finn opens up a bit more. Reminiscing about the time he first got out of jail and his ultimate decision to say fuck everything and everyone and took off into the sunset.
Finn tells Sean about how he's been in search for "A new daddy'' or "new bros" to sum it up, he's been in search of a new family.
A family you could say in which he's found within the group.
But he wants more security, he's tired of always being on the move and just wants his beach house where he could raise his little rugrats someday.
I feel like Finn is extremely homesick, maybe not for his old home but rather he's homesick for a home he's yet to make.
Finn has expressed his Interest to settle down on multiple occasions, not wanting to he constantly moving from place to place. And as a result he gets teased by the others.
So I don't see how people can think Finn's love confession to Sean was forced or sudden, when in reality he's been flirting with him the entire time.
Which brings us to the big choice.
Finn tells Sean he deserves more than he's been given for the shit they've been through, he proposes his plan to Sean once again.
As he explains his plan, it was always about getting the money for the boys in order for them to get to Mexico with cash. I believe Finn really was thinking about Sean and Daniel's best interest and not so much himself, wanting to make sure they were set with cash for food and a roof over their heads. That they'd be able to support themselves out there.
"I wouldn't let you in on this if I had any doubt."
That right there shows he wouldn't have even brought up the idea if he knew it wouldn't be successful. So I believe Finn 100% seen this whole money grab scheme going off without a hitch because in his head, with Daniel's powers they'd be in and out like ninjas. Completely unnoticed.
If the player chooses to go along with the plan Sean expresses his worry, asking Finn to reassure him they could do this without getting busted. Finn confidently says it'll be as easy as taking candy from a baby.
Sean says fuck it and tells him that he and Daniel are in.
Finn excitedly tells him that he knew Sean would understand because they're the same, that he felt it from the start. Finn takes the opportunity to bring up him wanting the brothers to stay with the group after everything is done.
Finn's desire for a family-home life could be Implied, over time they have spent together he grew to deeply care about the brothers. I'm sure Finn has met plenty of people on his travels, people he knows he'll probably never see again.
But when he met Sean and Daniel he knew he couldn't let them go that easily.
Finn confides in Sean, stating he felt the two had a strong connection, laughing nervously.
Tumblr media
It's safe to say Finn has had a thing for Sean since they first met, whether it started as 'Hey he's kinda cute' and grew into something much stronger or maybe he's been completely obsessed from the moment they locked eyes. Who knows but the point is Finn has always been very upfront about his feelings for Sean throughout the entire episode.
If Sean tells him that he feels the same way, Finn asks him what he's afraid of, placing his hand on Sean's lap.
I like this little detail because I've noticed whenever Finn expresses his deep interest in Sean, he has always put his hand on his lap.
But sadly this is where everyone freaked out because some believe Finn's kiss was to manipulate Sean, as a 'seal-the-deal' type of thing.
Which I find complete bullshit and here's why.
When I first seen this particular scene that thought never crossed my mind and you know why? Because that wasn't the point of it at all.
You've got to think, Finn has been completely obsessed over Sean since the beginning of the episode, calling him multiple pet names and basically flirting with him every chance he gets.
He's been so upfront with Sean about his feelings for him not beating around the bush to the point where it could cause a certain fear for Finn to think, "I've been obviously flirting with this guy, either he's oblivious or he's not into me that way."
But hearing Sean has the same feelings for him, obviously made lovesick Finn fall even harder. Realizing they both had feelings for one another, they take the moment to have their first kiss.
Wow Finn decides to kiss Sean after he confesses he feels the same?? sounds pretty normal to me.
So let's talk about the alternative route.
If Sean refuses to do Finn's plan, he'll try and convince him once more but after Sean shuts him down fast, he gives up. Finn's obviously hurt, but says he respects his decision. His voice is very sad from here on out, and he goes back to his kicked puppy state.
Looking for a way out of this conversation Finn tells Sean he should go enjoy his last party but that Finn's stoned so he'll just "zen out" on the log.
I think that was just Finn's way of wanting to be left alone, he's saddened and hurt by Sean not believing in his plan.
In Finn's eyes, both his best friend (Cassidy) and the guy he has the biggest crush on said his plan was dumb and had zero faith in his idea.
I could imagine how heart broken he must feel.
As previously stated before, if you agree to his idea he gets excited because he knew if anyone would understand him, it'd be Sean. They just get each other like that.
But in this sense it's "I thought you'd at least understand, but you're just like Cassidy."
So yes, I think it's appropriate he didn't kiss/ get to confess to Sean if you don't agree to his plan because at that moment in time he's discouraged and heart broken, believing everyone is against him.
Not the best mood atmosphere for a confession not to mention a kiss.
It's not about "oh I guess he didn't really like Sean at all if he doesn't confess to him if you refuse his proposal."
It's more of "oh Finn doesn't confess to him because he believes that Sean thinks he's a bad person for wanting to use Daniel's power and had hurt his feelings when Sean basically said it was stupid."
Considering the fact the only reason this idea came to Finn's head is when Sean and Daniel were leaving camp, and Finn was worried about them financially.
Sure there would be enough money to go around in the group but Finn's priorities were always about Sean and Daniel.
Introducing the lake scene with Cassidy:

If you choose to go to the lake with Cassidy after the kiss on Finn's route, there's an option where you could choose to show an interest in Finn.
Cassidy will comment that he likes Sean. Which goes to show Finn either talks about Sean to Cassidy, or she just picks up on all the flirting he does... Maybe both?
Both.
Both is good.
She goes on to ask Sean if he's blind, and adds "You seriously can't tell?"
Sean sheepishly admits he likes Finn as well and mentions they've even kissed.
So it's safe to say even outside of agreeing or disagreeing with Finn on his plan, everyone knows he has a thing for Sean.
It's all just a matter of time and place, Finn has a crush on Sean whether you agree or disagree with his plan, if they continue to have Cassidy and Finn in future episodes (low-key doubt) I'm sure there would be a better opportunity for Finn to confess to Sean if Sean had said no to the plan and didn't romance Cassidy in this episode.... Or ya know... Finn doesn't die.
Finn's heart and Intentions were in the right place, it just wasn't a well thoughtout plan.
I don't agree with Finn's idea of putting a kid in danger, he's not thinking about the consequences of their actions. It was a spur of the moment. But I don't think Finn deserves as much hate as he's getting for this.

SHE'S MY NOONA
Chapter 17
The show was already starting and we were asked alot of questions. Jungkook and IU looked happy, i kept looking at how Jungkook treated her nicely.
I never thought he'd look this happy with IU his dream girl. Perhaps this is what he wanted why would a noona like me even stick around him? Or have i been fooled by his words that i found myself almost falling in love with him.
Tumblr media
" you have to eat." Eun woo who was beside me tried to feed me " arasso." I smiled at him as i opened my mouth to eat. " woow, my Min ah is very cute when eating." He cried as he adorably pinched my cheeks making me nervous as he continued watching me.
I managed to hear form aside as people complemented us " wow those two make a cute couple...but Jungkook seems to be off mood but he's keeping up." The staff cried.
It was true i could sense Jungkook was not himself today even though i kept seeing that smile it wasn't the true one.
During break i wanted to go see him while he was with IU talking " Jungkook can i talk to you?" I stood there as hisreaction changed after seeing me. " IU and i are tal-" " aniyo don't mind me maybe she's a fan you have to talk to her." IU stood up and left me and him.
There was a moment of silence " what do you want?" " hey why are you always behaving like that towards me, like yesterday you got mad without any reason." I said as my feelings got hurt "you...you i hate the clueless you..you'll never understand cause you only think of yourself." He cried
Tumblr media
" now you are dating that bastard, i thought you...ani..goodluck." " why do you hate me that much...even your answers are not clear for me." I cried as he was about to leave.
"You...i don't want you to be my noona...i just hate how we are cause it's funny i just keep on laughing at myself it's uncomfortable ." He said as i just realised that my feelings were just nothing but a lie. I could only remain in tears standing there infront of him making fun of myself.
" arasso i hope this is our last show but kumaoh for everything." I said when somebody came and held my arm "Min ah....what are you doing?...yah who do you think you are to make her cry!" Eun woo cried at him trying to control his temper.
" lets go Min ah" he grabbed my hand as we left for the set.
End of p.o.v
IU' s p.o.v
I managed to overheard their conversation. It was a heart to heart conversation and from what i saw Jungkook seems to be inlove with her who also does not understand him.
We went back at the set and Jungkook was just right next to me sad and in deep thoughts. I wanted to do something for him. " yah Jungkook, i hate this show actually." I said to him as he faced me. " wae? Ooh am i making you uncomfortable?" He asked with tears in his eyes.
Tumblr media
He then realised how stupid of him to cry " ooh mianhaeyo, my eyes hurt." He rubbed his eyes but i stopped him " are you sure it's not the heart." I asked " actually i overheard your conversation with her." I cried realising he was panicking " actually she's our photographer." He tried to defend her " you don't have to hide i know you like her...don't ask how but i've been watching you guys since we arrived...you couldn't stop staring at her." IU cried as she smiled.
" ooh i didn't mean to hurt your feelings." He apologized nervously " aniyo..you didn't have to...i also loved someone..he's just normal but he made me smile all the time." I narratted " so did you two be together?" He asked curiously "i never told him but the time i decided to do that it was too late, he got someone else so i had to give up." I sadly ended the story.
Tumblr media
" Mianhaeyo." " aniyo i'm just atleast happy that person gave me something i lost a long time that is why you shouldn't be like me because the time you think you have is running out." I cried as i pat his head.
End of p.o.v
Jungkook's p.o.v
She warned me. I began to wonder does she have the same feelings for me just like the way i do? " what if -" " you should have courage to face it, it's better to confess than not to try."
She was right, all this time i have been behaving like a child also not considering her feelings. I looked upto her, i must have hurt her feelings again. I hated myself for making her cry while i promised myself not to make her cry.
2day of show
I woke up from my tent seeing the staff prepare everything till i saw her Min ah who also just woke up. She was yawning cutely till she stopped when she saw me but this time she didn't smile at me and just left.
Tumblr media
I was about to go after her when Eun woo had already taken the chance " yah were you planning to go after her now?" IU appeared out of nowhere "aagh?!" I had nothing to answer " you have to be careful many eyes are watching you, you don't have to forget you are a public figure any move you make may affect your career and mostly her." She said as she left
" IU kumaoh i wish to repay you." I thanked her " you can repay me....we can be friends." She smiled. " IU can you help me?" I cried
Meanwhile
" i don't want to ask you how you knew him but do you like him?" " yah Eun woo what are you saying?" " andwe, you don't have to answer even if you like him or don't please look at me first." He held her hands warmly " Min ah don't delude yourself stars will always be like that." He rubbed her salty tears which were strimming down her rosey cheeks. "Kumaoh."
Tumblr media
Meanwhile
Min ah was so happy that the first episode of the show had been aired and they have been getting alot of response.
" today's episode we will play different games but today for this game we are going to exchange partners." The mc cried as he laughed " exchange?" Min ah muttered when she realised she had to be with Jungkook
"Min ah-" " uhm excuse me i have a question." Everytime Jungkook would want to apologize and talk to her it always get interfierd.
Later
Shin min ah's p.o.v
Why would he want to talk to me even after what he said. The mountains area was really amaizing i needed fresh air not long till i heard the staff " yah who the heck is she? Every man in our area says she's so pretty." I smiled at myself they might be jealous. " i don't like her what did our boss even see in her? She's not rich or something." " Eun woo looks much better with Im yoona even their parents arranged for them to meet." " i really hate her she's just going to use every guy in our area especially our innocent Jungkook, i guess she's targeting him."
These words were just hurting me and i just stayed there as usual not doing anything " didn't you also hear Eun woo and Im yoona used to date till she made them break up, she was the reason for their breakup." Mwo why would it be me, what wrong did i do to deserve this.
I was about to leave when i saw Jungkook looking at us. I felt very embarrassed and wanted to run away from there cause i was so tired and it seems no one cared for me.
End of p.o.v
Jungkook's p.o.v
I watched her do nothing just like that time still i didn't do anything was i a coward to accept things since i always get scared of loosing that is why i always tried hard in doing everything and that is why i ended up being Mr perfect.
Tumblr media
"Yah!" " oppa!?" The girls cried " oppa? what you were just saying now i heard it all." "Mianhaeyo you heard?" They replied " but it's true she's the evil one." One cried " yah are you really my fans cause if you are you don't talk bad about people unless you know them?" " Mianhaeyo." " don't talk like that again about her cause she's not the things you described you should understand them first." I cried at them and left.
What was that i did? I was able to fight for her but i needed to find herI was able to see IU and ask if she's seen Min ah but she didn't. " why don't you go to ask Eun woo?" " yah are you sick how can i ask...i'm really worried about her." I sighed " well you should worry since we are close to the woods.
" and the shooting is about to start." IU cried " lets just go and ask manager " aniyo he'll worry too." I then stood and decided to go find her since this was all my fault. " yah! where to? the shooting." She cried " to me she's more important than my career." I ran inside the woods hoping to find her.
Tumblr media
I was inside the woods finding and calling out for her name " Min ahsshi ×15" i kept calling as i looked around. " Min ah sshi Mianhaeyo please come out!" I cried
I then heard sound from far " Min ah is that you!" There was a moment of silence till " go away don't come here!!!" I heard her cry a little bit further i wanted to know where she was if she spoke "Min ah mianhaeyo, about what i said those all came out because of anger,ne?" I cried " can you come out...so we can talk." I said knowing that she was somewhere hiding " yah im good at hide and seek." I cried "ne your good at every thing." She spoke as i realised she was behind a tree.
Tumblr media
" ne i'm mr perfect but there is only one thing i realised that i wasn't perfect to achieve." I cried she was silent for a while " don't you wanna know what is it?" I asked as i sat on the other side of the tree.
" what is it?" She asked as a smile formed on my lips " my...bracelet." i cried as i could sense confusion in her head " what bracelet...do you mean your grandpa's..you could have just asked for it." She said "...how could i ask back for my heart while i gave it to you?"
Tumblr media
" your...heart?" I heard her soft mutter that made me confess indirectly to this clueless girl.
