I have come to a realization that the reason ice prince / the winter king says "oh the dead one" about Betty is a huge chain of events.. It seems like he did more than just divert the insanity to bubblegum. starting with the fact that he clearly abandoned (or worse) and replaced marceline with an ice version, showing his true self centered essence. (nothing like real world simon) Because of his lack of insanity and silliness he never attended wizard meeting or anything related to that. Therefore never waking up Bella noche the event that causes him to became simon again in the original show. Even if he did so happen to became Simon again he never got to give Marceline Hambo which he used to open the portal to see Betty, (which she jumped into resulting in that time loop)

And thats why betty doesnt exist in that universe anymore because she never went into the portal and shes died from the mushroom war :(
