I don’t think anybody knows about Eddie’s will. I really don’t think anyone in Eddie’s life really understands the important role Buck plays in the Diaz family. I think for us viewers and between the three of them, it’s very blatantly obvious. But I don’t think Eddie talks about how much he relies on Buck and how he’s basically raising his son with him with anyone else. Which is why everyone thinks he’s alone with just Christopher. And I think that needs to be vocalized to others so that Eddie can acknowledge it himself. It’s almost as if he keeps his life with Buck and Christopher separate from everyone else. So once he starts embracing it and letting it be known to others, I think it’ll help him realize what Buck really means to him. He’s keeping it so close to his heart, which is where his fear stems from. Until he’s ok with openly discussing it or even voicing it out loud, he won’t be able to make that choice that Buck is the one for him.

It's kind of funny (heartbreaking) that there were multiple Ravens who wanted a number, to the point where some tried to manipulate Jean into helping them one way or another, but none of them would have been next in line. No matter what they did, there was always someone ahead of them on the list. Someone who wasn't even on the team. That someone wasn't Neil. Neil was a surprise to everyone, including Riko. That someone was Andrew.
Kevin might have had to beg Riko to go visit Andrew, and Riko might have laughed at Kevin and dismissed Andrew when Andrew turned him down, but make no mistake, if Andrew had accepted and had become a Raven, he would have taken that #4 spot within his first year.
If we're being real, Andrew had more of a chance at becoming part of the perfect Court than any of those Ravens ever had. Even Jean thinks of Andrew as one of them.
The other Ravens never stood a chance.

I think the thing that, like, has me fully frothing at the mouth about the way the last of us transformed bill's story is how it flipped on its head what bill does in the narrative. in the game (at least in my interpretation), he is the epitome of the living vs. surviving dichotomy, an example on how you can do everything you can to survive as long as you can and be absofuckinglutely miserable and alone if you continue to shove down parts of yourself and keep everyone at arm's length. he's what joel could become if he's not careful.
and in the show, he's the opposite - he's the example of how you can change your ways in the worst circumstances, how letting someone in is actually the most powerful thing you can do, how surviving isn't enough, isn't worthwhile, if you don't have love, if you don't have something to live for. and where in the game he was a portent of joel's future if he continued down the path he was on, in the show he's a contrast of what joel already is. joel, who couldn't tell tess he loved her, joel who can be detached enough to dispose of the corpse of a child, joel who doesn't allow himself to mourn the death of his friends for more than a few seconds. bill of the game was that way, except he still helped joel and ellie out. joel of the tv show is where bill was, but he still gives ellie his jacket when its cold, his food when she's hungry.
and in doing all of that, and with knowing what's coming, the last of us has said "love will save you. it doesn't matter if its romantic love or familial love, no matter the people involved, love is the most natural thing we do, and if you try to push it away, it will be that that kills you."

I need a scene in s5 in which Mike and Will are doing something kind of romantic (like sharing a bed or tending each others wounds idk) so Lucas tells Dustin “why can’t we do that too?” And Dustin answer “cuz they’re Mike and Will and we’re Lucas and Dustin” and Lucas is like “oooohh yeah, that makes sense”

I think you all remember Legend’s original character traits:
Tumblr media
And I’d like to bring attention to “very mature for his age; however still young at heart.”
And I want to know exactly how old Legend is. He’s one of the older teens—so we can safely assume anywhere from 16-19. That being said, I’d like to assume he’s on the younger side of the scale, perhaps 17. At 19, with as many years of adventuring under his belt, his maturity/age ratio isn’t really surprising (unless I’m also mature for my age and don’t know what to expect from people who grew up normally) enough to make note of. To top that off, “still young at heart.” He’s ultimately still a kid. And we see that in this new update:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All the adults—Time, Warriors, Sky, and Twilight are unamused. Even Wild is smiling, but not laughing, Four also quite simply does not find anything funny.
This is interesting to note because according to Time’s character sheet, he has a young sense of humor, but he’s mature enough that it doesn’t show in this scene aside from the “I don’t recommend attempting to keep up with the post man, but go on.” It has undertones of humor—but his expression betrays that he is firmly on track with the conversation and will not delay it by laughing. Legend, being as mature as “very mature for his age” would indicate, should not be laughing, either. And yet:
Tumblr media
Thus: Time has a young sense of humor because that’s who he is, regardless of age.
Legend has a young sense of humor simply because he’s still that young.

Actually, I'm gonna ramble about Pac and Ramón for a bit:
Pac knows how it feels to be abandoned– after all, he was abandoned in the orphanage after his parents' divorce. He knows the trauma of waiting for that person to come back, but ultimately never coming back, and feeling like maybe it was his fault for that, and the need to prove you deserve to be loved.
They both had to grow up quickly, albeit for different yet similar reasons. Pac had to grow up quickly because he had to take care and protect his best friend, Mike, and at the same time fight for their survival after the orphanage shut down. Ramón had to grow up because his other father, Spreen, didn't like how childish he was (the moment with the boucy ball comes to mind**) and then he lost his 1st life, which meant he had to be extra careful.
They both also only have had one other person for most of their lives, someone they can trust 100%. It has always been Fit and Ramón & Pac and Mike for the longest time. Of course, other people have come and gone, but in the end, it has always been the two of them.
I think the reason Pac is so affectionate and caring of Ramón is because he knows, he understands him. He wants Ramón to get to experience all the things he couldn’t. Have a big adoption party? Yes, of course. Have two lovable parents who cherish him? Done and dusted. Have domestic and relaxing activities with close family? That can be be arranged, just say a day.
All in all, I think them being in each others lives heals them respectively. Pac being able to love and take care of Ramón helps him heal his inner child. Ramón being able to get the second parent he always wanted (while also making sure Fit is not alone) helps him get to feel like a silly kid once again.
I think that's beautiful.
(** If you dont know, Ramón once had a slime ball he used to play catch with. One time, he gave the ball to Spreen in hopes of playing with him, but Spreen scolded him for being childish and that he had to grow up. After that, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Ramón with the ball again [i could be wrong, though!])

ok still thinking about episode 6 and i just can’t get over that Mhok was CRYING during this interaction
there were so many other moments when it would have make sense to see Mhok cry; being told to leave the birthday party, realizing he liked Day at the bridge, seeing August kiss Day, but he didn’t because those moments all revolve around his own feelings
no, what made Mhok cry was that August hurt Day. It’s Day’s feelings that make Mhok cry, knowing that August was pitying Day and saying those hurtful things while Day was standing right there. He’s frustrated and hurt and he’s hurt for Day too.
Mhok is just so incredibly empathetic and it kills me that he thinks he’s not soft or tender because he is, he is so full of love that he cries for the boy he loves when the boy’s crush hurts him even though he was willing to step aside for him (initially at least., Mhok is only human and i’m glad he was ready to fight back for Day with the sunflower at the end bc i am an August hater first)

thinking about how, when ava pushes through the 20 feet of stone for the first time, it’s because she tapped into her deepest fear, which is being alone, and then pushed through it when beatrice reassured her that she could be “quadriplegic, festooned with boils, or a talking head in a bag” and she’d still have the sister warriors; she’d still have beatrice. and how the first time she used a halo pulse, it was in shannon’s room at cat’s cradle, stopping sister crimson from killing beatrice. beatrice, who let her sit down next to her at meal times and gave her a chance. beatrice, who held her as she cried in mother superion’s office and believed her when she said she didn’t want to die. beatrice, who was only in danger because she had decided that she loved the sister warriors, loved ava, more than the church hierarchy, and came back to cat’s cradle, risking excommunication and death. ava learns to tap into the halo’s power when she looks loneliness in the eyes and sees her sisters and beatrice instead, promising that “we will never leave you.”

This may be a big silly and lame, but… I miss the magical feeling of being in middle school and discovering g/t for the first time. Spending entire nights sneaking my computer, grabbing a zevia and some cereal and reading g/t fics the whole eight hours. The pure joy it brought to finally find like-minded people and CONTENT for my special interest that I never really talked about before. I guess it was kind of like a honeymoon phase where it was so new and exciting.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love love love making and seeing g/t content now, I’m just missing that special feeling when it was all new yknow?

käärijä’s body positivity has really impacted me i’ve struggled with my body and ED ever since i was 13 and i’ve come a long way since then (i still have a way to go) but seeing his performance and his interviews where he talks about his body and how freeing the song is supposed to be it makes me feel so confident i might have gender envy but i feel comfortable in my skin when i see him and listen to the song💚

criticisms of cape comics fall back on ideas of 'bad characterization' so often, either implicitly or explicitly delineating eras of 'legitimate' characterization from eras of 'illegitimate' characterization. and while i think that can have merit in some extremely specific cases i think a lot of the time its not a very specific or even like. personally helpful critique.
which is not me saying that like. you can't dislike characterization. you absolutely can and i do sometimes but i am starting to think that the more valuable critiques are about what is accomplished by shifts in characterization, what these changes can communicate or what themes or messages they serve, rather than if the characterization can be traced back to some comic. bc if a character has been around for a couple of decades and is at all prominent it probably can! even if its a comic you (read: i) would rather not address when talking about the character's continuity.

Do you think Izzy admired Edward when Edward shot him? Do you think he found him beautiful? Do you think his life, a life consumed by Edward, flashed before his eyes? Did he regret any of it? How could he when almost every second of it was spent alongside the man he admired most? Do you think he appreciated Edward's smudged makeup and wide eyes? Do you think he wanted to kiss him? Do you think that even when Edward was at his worst, Izzy loved him?
