its truly so fun to write the collector. like im not joking about him being my favorite owl house character despite his maybe twenty total minutes of screentime, so its been such a JOY to expand his role in this series!!

bc like. god. actually i think i wrote a whole like. bit of flash fiction/prose poetry type thing for them a while ago. probably in my files somewhere. but just. youre an immortal eight year old. you are in these years where you need to interact with other people for your own mental stability and health. to figure out the whole Being A Person thing. and you are trapped for like, centuries. trapped away from everyone and everything and DUST, which, in universe, in literally connection personified. you're cut off from all of this.

and you are, let me say again, eight years old.

truly the collector is just. hes had everyone he ever cares about leave him--his siblings the other archivists left him behind not out of any sense of cruelty, really, but because caring about people just isnt really a thing they do. quite frankly they live so long they didnt even notice. theyre far-away stars. not far because they're mean. just because thats what stars do.

and then king's dad (who um. doesnt have a name <3 this is why the collector calls him 'the big bully' its literally bc i never gave him a name--) was an adult the collector actually trusted and looked up to (he meshed REALLY WELL into titan society until the archivists started Doing A Murder since titans are the only beings that match them in power and they have very very different ideas about dust). like ive said before the collector is owlbeastkin but before that they never had a super stable sense of identity--in another world where they stayed w/ the titans they wouldve ended up a titan.

and then king's dad just. trapped him in a tablet forever.

and like, to be fair to king's dad he was reacting out of fear and the best knowledge he had (he assumed the collector led the archivists to the titans, and like, he did, but its not like he knew he was doing that, and, you know, poor guy had seen a huge chuck of his fellow titans killed including babies and eggs of which he had an egg to consider), but it still TRAPPED THEM. and then he died and so did all the rest of the titans so nobody could free the collector even if they wanted to.

and then BELOS, who manipulated and lied to the collector for so long and was also literally his only friend after being alone forever, so like, of course the collector just blindly went along with whatever he said. he was gonna free them!! he listened to them when they talked about stardust which nobody else ever did! he had no idea what the fuck a witch was! he just liked being able to see the stardust sometimes, and belos brought him to places with a lot of stardust. to destroy it, but like--you know. it was THERE.

but all these people were just USING them, and they never really understand that until king comes around. and king's also a scared eight year old!! but like. king's also not wrong. the collector did aid belos in destroying the entire isles. like no joke belos SUCCEEDS here. like not long-term obvi this has a happy ending but at the point we're in at for the future? it doesnt matter that the draining spell failed. all the palistrom trees are dead. witch society Cannot come back from that even if they did end up beating the collector. theyre doomed.

anyways what was i saying. collector. right.

so like, then they meet firefly/grr-click-growl/wings-across-night/the owl beast (king of having so many names i love her <3) and shes like, the first person who cares for them and ISNT using them. even king is using them!! but firefly has seen Some Shit. she sees the collector as a hatchling who was kicked out of his nest and is doing her best to be some sort of stable figure for him, but she doesnt Not see the stuff he's done.

the collector took over the world bc he's scared--all he's ever known is being used and trapped so he doesnt exactly trust most people easily. firefly would Love to not be in this world anymore. shes also got a loyalty to eda and king and luzmari. and, like, cool motive, still trapping an entire society of people.

but like. shes the one who is here right now and nobody else is trying to help this kid.

but the collector just. hes just an eight year old. a very, very old eight year old. but he doesnt understand things like "you can make the wrong choices and still choose to do better later" and "im mad at what you did but that doesnt mean i dont care about you."

he just sees someone upset with him. just sees another person who used him and doesnt care and is going to leave bc everyone leaves him and in a world where EVERY SINGLE PERSON comes in pairs, hes the only one who stands alone.

thinking abt linebeck’s coat. something very alluring about it for some reason. so im just gonna ramble about it here instead of in the tags for once

you can probably start a fight between the people who think it’s a coat and people who think it’s a jacket but i think it’s a coat moving on

the character designs are interesting to look at due to the proportions and art style so it is hard to imagine how long his coat would be but i think it would go down to a bit above ankles because i think that’s good. it’s a bit more dramatic a bit more impressive(?) that way and would probably lead to problems tbh

based on some of the official art i imagine that the stripe at the bottom might’ve been a late addition since it’s missing in the bit of official art most used to represent linebeck. tbh linebeck is inconsistent in very tiny ways in the official art but that’s mostly if you’re gonna be nit-picky or bored enough to notice

his coat is so good it’s simple but very recognizable and stands out among the other character designs in ph and its just. yknow good character design

its also surprisingly good for headcanons and stuff and because i mostly take a lot of canon as suggestion i have a good handful of headcanons tagged specifically onto his coat (one of which is the length of it ig)

i like to imagine that he made it himself. i’ve seen stuff where people write linebeck as being able to fix link’s tunic when it gets torn and i feel like the logical extreme of that is that he made his own coat. i think that adds a layer of. importance to it? it’s unique it’s solely linebeck’s it’s tied to him because he made it with his own hands and maybe it can represent something about him that way?

i like to imagine that in addition to the normal pockets one the outside he’s got a whole lot of little pockets on the inside of the coat, like so many pockets that he hides little trinkets or tools or things he steals in either to keep or to take back to his ship for whatever reason. some of the pockets have little flaps of whatever they’re called that can be secured in place with a small button to keep stuff in

he’s got like pencils and a compass and little notes and tiny figurines and cool rocks and feathers and all kinds of little things he thought was worth keeping around and due to that his coat is uncomfortable sometimes but if he knows for certain he’s going to be busy doing stuff he’ll empty out all of the pockets and only leave the important stuff so that it’s lighter and less uncomfortable. link finds his coat lying around at some point and is caught so badly off-guard by how surprisingly heavy it is with all of the bullshit he keeps in all of his pockets

i also imagine he values it a lot, maybe to the point of being really possessive and protective of it, not letting link touch it and if it gets torn or stained he shuts down and has to fix it before he can move on to anything else, and if he can’t fix it at the time it leave him kind of overwhelmed or upset until he can fix it. he has a lot stocked-up materials specifically for his coat to avoid a situation where he has to go for while with his coat damaged

backing away from headcanon territory, his coat is just a cool bit of character design and has just been lodged in my mind for a while. its cool and never brought up within the game (obviously) and i guess a last little closing thought is that in the cutscene where oshus teleports link above linebeck it kinda looks like his coat moves when he tries to catch link and i think that’s cool

Hi. I just wanted to drop this here after binge reading Broken. I'm in shambles. Literally.. The more I read on the more I was drawn in. It's really been quite a while since I got to read some good Ateez [series] fics. Often times there aren't many series/long fics... I'm also unfortunately a sorta, picky reader so that makes it harder for me to just read anything. But still I applaud all Authors for putting in the effort and writing regardless!! ♡ Do the four ever get jealous of one another?

considering that they decided to pursue a relationship with the reader, i don't think they get jealous of each other. they get jealous of other people, but not of each other. while at times there may be moments that one of them takes up more time than the others (which does happen, reader is one person being shared with four other people), then it's teasing and slight passive aggressiveness towards each other. their feelings are never malicious, though. trust is very important to them.

♡ How do they deal with jealousy?

haha they most definitely take it out on you afterwards. when the situation comes up (like in that drabble i wrote), they were most likely aggressive to whoever made them jealous. i mean they're all big guys so they strike fear into anyone who they see as a threat anyway so they don't need to physically harm anyone else to assert their dominance, but they'd imply that someone might not come out alive. this is where it's malicious and they need to take care of their jealousy or else it won't turn out good, for you and for the law.

♡ Is there a heirarchy between them?

i feel like it depends on the situation?? in social situations and speaking in general, oikawa is at the top bc he's the mf who talks the most and is the most outgoing/confident out of all of them (cocky bastard). so, he's more likely to lead the way when you're out and about. however, in your personal space, the heirarchy shifts where makki, mattsun, and iwa are more domineering and take control of the relationship. i think oikawa is just super playful with the reader so his treatment of her is different (less serious) than the other three. he's instantly at the bottom of the heirarchy. because of his confidence, you'd probably think that he's at the top but nahhh. iwa walks over him. makki and mattsun walk over both of them. mattsun walks over all of them (but he's kindest to makki).

♡ Who initiated it? Was it a team effort?

i think the decision to pursue the reader was mutual among the four and they understand each other on an emotional level to be able to coexist in reader's life. they rely heavily on teamwork so it's no surprise that they would work towards their goal together. and since they work so well together, they don't have a problem sharing one person.

♡ Who fucks the best? Who's the worst?

me, trying not to let the oikawa stan inside me come out: 👁👄👁

IN ALL HONESTY THO, i think iwa would fuck the best. he just seems to know what he's doing and he shows the most selflessness!! oikawa or mattsun would be the worst, and not that i think they'd be absolutely terrible tho cs for sure all of them have your best interests in mind. oikawa would be the worst because he probably cums fastest or he's going too fast to where it's uncomfortable or he's very picky and wants it a certain way so it makes him seem a little selfish sometimes. mattsun? he'd be the worst cs he'd be the roughest and won't be able to control his strength and no i'm not taking any criticisim HAHAHA idk why i see him going apeshit. like you're trying breathe but he's like *growling noises* and forcing you take all of him. 

♡ Kindest? Meanest?

from kindest to meanest: iwa, makki, oikawa, mattsun

i think iwa would show the most care for your wellbeing and be king of aftercare (and he’s the boyfriend you'd be able to talk to the easiest), makki would watch over you to make sure you're okay and take care of your necessities, oikawa would constantly tease you and instigate conflicts or arguments if he feels like it and is the MOST patronizing, and mattsun would beat you into submission no cap. he's the one who decides the punishments and doesn't hesitate to teach you a lesson if he feels that you really need it. he's like the scary dad. but once again, they all have your best interests at heart and their personalities as yanderes are supposed to balance each other out to create an equilibrium in your relationship.

so tts was kind of a weird one in terms of how it was made. i’m a huge researcher when it comes to writing in general & i write a lot of historical aus, so diving in and researching a lot is often the first step for me when it comes to writing. but tts was a little different in that it was a combination of my research for a different project, my lifelong love of lighthouses, a prompt sent to me by an anon & my own experiences in/love of scotland. i lived there for two years, though not on any of the islands. 

so a few years back, as i was finishing uni and preparing to move to scotland, i signed up for this exchange where the concept was you received a quote as a prompt and had to write a fic based on that. i can’t remember the quote i had but it was something a oscar wilde one and i got really interested in writing a murder mystery/dark fantasy story set somewhere remote and isolated. i wanted to write a story where a series of shocking & slightly supernatural murders take place on a remote island with a very small population and a journalist comes to the island to write a series of articles about it. i got to busy with real life and had to drop out of the challenge, but i had found & thoroughly researched fair isle as the perfect setting for this story. harry was going to be the journalist coming in from london to investigate and louis was a sculptor who lived in the lighthouse at the tip of the isle; a recluse and an outcast; everyone’s favourite suspect. i made the choice of him living in a lighthouse because i love them and it’s been a dream of mine to own one and live in one for literally decades haha.

obviously, this story didn’t end up happening. but many months later, after i’d already moved to scotland, i received an anon essentially saying ‘ i wish you would write a story where recovering alcoholic/addict harry shows up to louis’ little b&b to recover’. now i rarely take other people’s prompts mostly because i’m very picky & fussy with ideas, but this one really inspired me and i basically said ‘okay, but it would HAVE to be set in scotland and the b&b HAS to be in a lighthouse’ and i just wrote a mini drabble outlining the main plot of the fic. people got really excited about the mini-outline/ficlet; i had lots of messages asking me to make it a full-length fic and big bang season was starting and tbh.... the idea wouldn’t leave me alone. so i signed up to write it and the rest is history i guess! 

but because i had done all this research on fair isle already, it was the only place that made sense for me as a setting. i’ll be honest though, not all of it is accurate; i used inspiration from other scottish islands and my own imagination to create this fictional version of fair isle. and some info in the fic is no longer up to date; like the whole no power at night thing! that changed while i was writing it :) 

so yeah, i def. found the info about the place first and no i don’t live there. from what i know, it’s a very tiny very closed community. and unfortunately, even though i lived in scotland, i never had the chance to visit. it’s not thaaaat easily accessible haha 

and yeah i def def plot first before writing. i rarely have a fully detailed outline before i start writing, but i’ll normally have the ending (or the Big Emotional Catharsis moment) planned as well as all the big beats. i research, make decisions on vibe, atmosphere, aesthetic, first, then i outline and then i write. though i guess with historical stuff, the research lasts the entire time you’re writing more often than not haha.

getting (back) into trading

another way to learn is just through practise. what are people willing to accept and what are they declining? this one can be a bit tricky because some people are very picky with what they accept but overall? still pretty solid

btw the learning process can take about a week or so!! but also im slow.. at things. so hopefully itll be quicker for u!

this shit is HARD. most jammers just go into aldan or wootmoos den. specific places in aldan are coral canyons, temple of zios, bradys lab (big boys only). ofc these places r only sometimes full of people. places which for sure have ppl is about any jamma township. trading parties are also popular!!

if u wanna be a cool kid u can post ur offers ~online~ main place id go to are the aj worth wikis and comment on either the item you are offering or that youre offering for ;w; makes sense right. you can also post your offers on instagram (tagged with animaljam) or the animal jam amino. i unno theyre both p good options.

if youre a member, like every other person will say, i recommend the forgotten desert!! just host it or find sm1 else hosting it. it doesnt usually take very long for it to fill up. another thing- finding a group of people who will do it over and over again w you so you dont have to find new people every time.

if youre doing tfd (the forgotten desert) you wanna avoid doing the purple crystals. they waste time and u still get shit prizes from them. there were like. myths that youd get a headdress if you did them.. not true. jus do not bother w them. have your map open when you play tfd so you can see where youve already been n stuff, playing with audio helps cos youll hear a sound effect when youre able to collect a shard (useful for yellow 1z). its possible but unlikely that youll get a spike but i mean hey! i got my first spike from tfd!!! it was a yellow long! also be sure to pick up ground chests. there was a rumour that opening those would worsen your prizes which again. isnt true lol.

if youre a nm then i think people tend to recommend replaying the first adventure over and over again. i dont rlly have a lot to say abt this. its pretty simple.

THE ALBUM YES. so ive been looking forward to it for literally months, this is actually my first skz album release as a stay (since the last on was 9 months ago) i was sitting there hitting refresh on my spotify the second 6pm kst came around. (speaking of which, how did you do the release? i couldnt decide whether to watch or listen first but i ended up on listening cos there would be more material) okay: so cheese was super cool, very skz ya know? tho i almost wish theyd made domino the title track, tho obv it was a more experimental track and would have been a bit controversial (much like whistle for bp) i looooved domino and thunderous was absolutely impeccable. all the songs were amazing but standouts were- secrets, secrets which lowkey made me tear up idk why, red lights which almost killed me (it did not have to go that hard, but it did) and OT8 WOLFGANG omgggg i wasnt sure if hyunjin was going to be included in it but i was hoping and, ya know people had said hed be in there, but the further i got in, the less i was sure and then BAM hyunjin started what had been jisung's part and i just sat there grinning for about 5 minutes. surfin was absolutely adorable and gone away almost made me cry AGAIN. star lost was so touching, almost a nod to hyunjins little star? silent cry was relatable beyond anything. SSICK was funny? for some reason I was laughing while it was playing, idk the combination of added cheering and minhos aggressiveness and the totall seriousness they sung it. but i rlly enjoyed it. sorry i love you showcased their vocals like nothing else. the view is THE BOP of 2021, absolutely going to be stuck in my head for the next decade, that hook is genius. what did you think?

also did you watch their grow up performance? with all the stays and ALL THE TEARS? ;n; i feel like this is the end of an era of skz and tbh im kinda happy but also sad. super excited for their promotions but super bummed they wont get to tour. ah well

oh yeah, abt quarantine having an effect. my friend and i talked about this earlier actually. i didn't realize the world was moving so fast until the pandemic happened. being in quarantine gave me time to think and i got to know myself more. it's just the sole good thing i got out of the isolation lmao. and abt my strict parents, ironically i got to go out today so i got to hang out with a few of my bestfriends. i had fun but my legs are a bit sore from walking. but they're a different set of friends. i'll get to hang out with the others when my getaway driver comes home in december.

hmm music recommendations for writing? depends on the plot you're writing. care to share what story you're working on and i'll try to rake my brain for a song that might match the vibe. i listen to classical / lo-fi if i don't have song inspo for a fic because lyrics sometimes distract me.

WELL. i have a list so you won't have to go search for them! in class (minho), in the rain (seungmin), gladius maximus (chan) and you've read five star already. and i just realized that most, if not all, of my upcoming fics are fluffs and i'm fond of all of them :D i used to focus a lot on angst because fluff disgusted the living shit out of me. i think things changed when i wrote champagne problems and hurt myself so bad i wanted to drop angst entirely. i didn't, of course, but i allowed myself to be self-indulgent now.

for the release of the album, i was on twt and watched the vid at 12 views (if i remember correctly, i watched back door at 14 so HASJH) i’m gonna talk by track so it wont be too confusing? bc i wrote this in paragraph format and it just ???? beware im very picky with tracks even if they’re my ults. so no offense if we have opposing opinions and i’m not fond of reading lyrics so these are all music wise.

headcanon questions ♦ status: accepting!✿: what is your muses favourite scent?     a lot of various art-related scents bring him comfort. in particular, the scent of oil paints, inks and acrylics tend to ground him and get him into a very methodical mindset. otherwise, he really likes delicate scents. if he had to pick a scented candle, he’d be drawn to one of the plainer ones like coffee, vanilla, etc. nothing too sweet or overpowering.

💕: does your muse have any crushes?     LOOK AT YOU BEING SLY… AS IF YOU’RE NOT WRITING 1000 YUSUKE BOYFRIENDS RN… I’M ON TO YOU BREE AND ALSO IM LAUGHINGKFDLG ok this is super verse/thread dependent obviously so i won’t get too specific with it (tho i’m willing to wax poetic abt literally all of my ships on command so uh if you want meta for one in particular hmu) but… generally speaking, yusuke doesn’t develop crushes all that easily. in addition to that, he’s also the type of person who starts crushing on someone and flat-out doesn’t realize it until he looks down and sees that his sketchbook is filled up with drawings of the same dude. while him being gay absolutely plays a role in his approach to defining romantic relationships (which is more evident in verses wherein he’s a teenager), it’s also something that’s just… part of his general personality - in the sense of his sheltered upbringing/experience with abuse andddd you know… his temperament. 

    anyways, while crushes may be somewhat rare, they’re also very, very sincere when they do happen. after his awakening, yusuke becomes extremely intense and honest when it comes to his own emotions. tbh if he realizes he’s crushing on someone, he’d become willing to openly confess his romantic feelings almost instantly. again tho, that realization might take a while so it’s more likely that, if the feelings are mutual, he’ll be confessed to, first. 

🍕: what’s your muse’s favourite food?     everything brings him endless joy. dgkdg ok but seriously: he’s super fond of snacks that he can carry around and still enjoy (shoutout to the iconique jagariko potato sticks) but he’s not a picky eater at all. he develops a particular fondness for curry as a comfort food sort of thing, but his fav type of food is usually just like… interesting dishes presented in an aesthetically pleasing way. on the flip side, he also likes dishes that taste good, but can be prepared in a cost-effective sort of way. 

🎲: does your muse like to gamble?     not at all. yusuke has a complex view regarding money as a whole and doesn’t like to risk losing things he has, even in the name of like, potentially getting a profit based on luck. that doesn’t change much in terms of gambling for stuff other than money - despite how eccentric he can be, he’s also very pragmatic and wouldn’t willingly risk things he’s worked to acquire on something as fickle as fortune. if he was forced into it and the gamble ended up having an unfavorable outcome he’d get extremely depressed… so, yeah, no gambling for him.

as stated in a previous ask, the only things i won’t read are vh*pe, jih*pe, y**nseok. (only blanking them out so they don’t bother people in the tags!) unless it’s vminh*pe or y**nminseok, idk why lol. i can read those ot3s but not the otps that make them up. 

so let’s say hypothetically i wanna read fic, these are the ships i start with: jinmin , taejin , jinkook , minjoon

if i can’t find anything i like there , i go on to : vmon , namkook , namseok , junghope , vmin , sugamon

if i somehow am still struggling (it happens) , i move on to : 2seok , jikook , yoonmin , taegi

i’ll only read if i come across it in a rec post or a friend sends it to me : taek**k , sugakookie , yoonjin

lets talk about drama cds (DONT READ)

long and rambly and probably makes no sense don’t read

its really weird cause im tempted to compare drama cds to audiobooks but theyre not really that.  they can be sort of like ovas, as in they adapt certain chapters of a manga but this particular variety can’t really stand on its own. usually theyre just something extra for the source material

but then there’s drama cds that adapt the full source material and thus they can stand alone. they might add some things, cut some things, switch some things around, as any adaptation, but a lot of the time you can listen to them without the context of the source material (provided you understand the language lmfao)

and then there’s blcds which as far as i’m aware usually fit into the second category. and they’re a lot less like audiobooks, and a lot more like listening to the audio of an anime. as in there’s a full cast and sound effects and music and it really feels acted. audiobooks can have that too but i haven’t found an audiobook that feels as real as one of these.

also they tend to be shorter? audiobooks are like anywhere from 5 to 27 hours depending on the length of the source material, whereas these ones usually adapt manga or light novels and so they’re usually 1-5 hours long. 

i’m the kind of person who usually prefers the source material to any sort of adaptation and yet in this case i’d sort of like to keep them separate because if i read the source material first i’d have already imagined voices to the characters and there’s a higher chance of me disliking the voices in the drama, also i’d be hella nitpicky about possible changes

but if i listen to the drama first i’d have already imagined everything while doing the listening so when i read the source material there’s a higher chance of me disliking it. this might make no sense but that’s how my brain works so i’d rather take no risks

AND WHEN IT COMES TO BLCDS SPECIFICALLY the voices are incredibly important bc i am very picky abt that but it’s great bc they allow me to experience the same story twice or to experience the story of a manga whose art i might not like

and its so interesting bc i hate audiobooks with a full cast or music but here it doesn’t bother me at all. neither does the fact that i don’t understand 100% of it, it’s very great for language-learning purposes or for background noise-purposes or for.......... other purposes

and it’s so weird when a seiyuu i know pops up in one of these (that’s usually the case actually lmfao) bc they often feature some kind of h-scene OR SOMETIMES ARE ALMOST PWP and i wouldn’t have expected respectable seiyuus to take part in smth like this but i hear they use it to kind of get their voices out there and sometimes retire from it after they establish themselves in the industry. which is fine i mean this is a job as any other so like

BUT THEN IT’S REALLY WEIRD when a lot of their voices i’ve already heard in  very great very beloved anime roles and that definitely changes the experience of listening to such a drama

bc while they’re very good at portraying different characters in different situations in general, there’s just some roles that are too influential and might make me not want to listen to a particular drama if it features a particular seiyuu (has happened before)

and then there’s the h-scenes themselves which sure are interesting. i mean i am well-versed in audio p0rn but it feels completely different when it’s acted and with voices i know and might even have a story around it like wow

it took some getting used to. like at first i was just like O_O and i felt so embarassed??? now they just make me grin like an idiot because they’re great and also seiyuus are really fucking talented literally wtf

i swear i will develop a pokerface one day

they’re really great tho bc i can totally use them as background noise. i tried putting on some anime episodes as bg noise at some point but it didnt really work bc i always had the urge to just watch them. but there’s no such thing with these dramas so they’re great while doing chores or writing this post or possibly even doing homework???? lmfao that’s probably not the reason they were made but who cares

also most of them have really fucking amazing background music WHICH I TOTALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND ESPECIALLY ??? SAD PIANO MUSIC DURING H-SCENES ??? i’d sure like to download the osts to some of them tho wtf

i do guess that some people get off to them which i 1000% support but i just keep wondering what ............. certain people............... would say if they knew these existed and what purposes they were used for

OR PEOPLE WHO KNOW JAPANESE FOR THAT FACT AHGJNDGDNJ.
