Hiiiii Robin aka Bird Boy!

Sorry I took a bit longer than usual to reply but dad suddenly decided he’d had enough of the forest and we went back home! I thought maybe it’d be fun to wait a bit longer and show you our house and stuff. I don’t really like moving around all the time but I guess it kinda gives you lots of new stuff to talk about so that’s something.

This is our house! It’s not as big as yours looks but there’s only two of us and we’re not always here so it makes sense that it’s not massive. Dad usually rents it out whilst we’re not here cos he says it’s better for the house that it’s looked after but I know he means it’s better for his bank too lol!! I guess it works out for me though cos he says I can put as many plants as I want in my room as long as I keep them alive so they’d die if we left it empty every time we left. He says it’s like I brought the jungle inside hahaaha, I like it though!

The last person who rented the house was one of dad’s old work friends and he left this cool telescope for me to play with since I’m “so keen about the stars and shit” HIS WORDS! I know you’re supposed to use it at night but it’s kinda fun to spy on people during the day too. Like I’m pretty sure our neighbours are getting a divorce cos I overheard the guy moaning about the lady to my dad once and sometimes you can hear them yelling and see them waving their arms at each other through the window or on the balcony (don’t tell anyone though hahaa!)

I think dad’s kinda happy to be back (look how bushy his eyebrows are though ahahhhahah) he spends a lot of time fishing but I know it’s only a matter of time until he gets itchy and runs out of money again. Half of me wishes he’d get a good job here so we wouldn’t have to move around all the time but the other half is glad to leave. I guess it’s kinda nice here AND I was born here but I don’t even like swimming and there’s water and beaches EVERYWHERE ugh..

I guess I don’t really think Sulani feels like home anymore, not since mom died. It’s pretty and it’s nice but something is always missing so it’s kinda lame too if that makes sense. Maybe that’s why dad likes to leave sometimes too, I’d ask him but he’d probably get upset so maybe not! I was gonna leave that part out cos it’s a bummer but we don’t really keep many secrets from each other so I said it…

Anyway, dad’s a pig and never cleans ANYTHING and I think he got bored of me complaining about how big and heavy the vacuum is cos he got me a cool mini one (it’s a “sorry we move around so much but here’s a present so shh” present but I’ll take it hahaa) he took it off me for a few days after I hoovered some crumbs out of his bed and sucked up his headphones by accident but that’s his fault for eating cookies in bed when he should be sleeping.

Oh and since there’s not many fun rocks to find or dig up here I decided to start up my shell collection again. I found a few nice ones I guess but I really want to find a conch! Dad said they’re pretty rare but you’d think with all the stupid sand and beaches around here that I’d be able to find at least ONE even if it was a tiny one but not yet! I’ll let you know if I do though!

Anyway, I’m kinda sad we left Granite Falls in the end cos it was so close to the holidays I hoped maybe your family would go camping again and we’d be able to explore together again. Hopefully next time we move we’ll move even closer to where you live so there’s more chance we’ll get to see each other! A bird pooped on me the other day though which dad said is supposed to be lucky so I decided to believe him and hope we get to hang out again one day SOON (after I had a shower anyway because EUGH!)

Hope you’re okay and glad to be done with school for the summer!

I believe that byler is an endgame

but why would they spend 3 seasons winding up with mileven?

People REALLY need to pay attention to the shows the Duffers cited as huge inspirations to them. Cheers,dawsons creek, freak &geeks did exactly what the Duffers are doing (and the Duffers said these shows inspired them)

. Cheers for over 5 seasons built up the pairing of sam and Dianne- had them break up in the s5 finale and then in the last 2 eps of the 11th season have them get back together and once again break up explaining for the 100th time they were wrong for each other and brought out the worst in eachother . Cheers would build up multiple pairings (Frasier /Lilith (s4-11/broke up in s11) , sam/Dianne (s 1-11, broke up in s11 permanently) , rebecca /sam (s8-10) Rebecca/robin (s8-9) -these pairings lasted for multiple seasons and they all broke up! They built pairings up for multiple seasons but showed throughout the show why those pairing in cheers could never work out in the long term. The same Thing happened with almost every pairing in Dawson’s creek (they’d build up multiple pairings up -sometimes for multiple seasons- sprinkle in good but also dysfunctional aspects of those relationships- and then break them apart for good ).

Also in Dawson’s creek 2 characters (a rich girl and poor guy with daddy issues) date and breakup- but both of their gay brothers get together and are endgame instead of them (cough jancy vs byler). One of the gay guys (the rich one with the book smart sis) even dated the main girl (Joey) for a while before admitting he was gay and that he was in denial (while dating the main girl for more than a season ). In D.C even the main guy(Dawson) / girl (Joey) don’t end up being endgame (despite teasing it for all 5 seasons) . They did this with a lot of couples in the show. Honestly, the Duffers pretty much borrowed this idea of showing pairings with issues and breaking them up -but toned down how long they’d bait them . Like 11seasons of showing dysfunctional couples date -ick. And Dawson’s creek ... my god it had a literal love octogon/ love webs (so many love squares/pentagons/ and on and off relationships). The 1 adult couple broke up and I’m not exaggeration 4 times, and Dawson got back with 2 of his girlfriends like so many times. And ugh I’d say each (of the 4-5) main characters dated at least 4 people -and each of those relationships lasted for like 20+ eps each... and then after all that build up -break up ). That’s not even including the people the main 5 or so characters would date for like 5-6 eps . Thank god it was toned down compared to Dawson’s creek or cheers. i can’t imagine the frustration watching those shows during its airing 😂

Freaks & geeks (set in the 80s)was also inspo.14 y old Sam who is bullied and called “homo” “queer” etc throughout the whole series - he also obsesses over a cheerleader girl for the whole series and in the second to last ep of the series- they finally start dating and he realizes they have nothing in common and says “it’s boring. all we ever do is makeout.She likes nothing i like. We can’t talk to eachother. We never have fun.” And he admits he only keeps dating her cause everyone would call him “crazy” to not date her. sam and her are also said to be “from different planets” and “different species” just like mileven in s3 lol. The gf of sam also says before they dated she saw him ‘like a sister’ (like El asking mike if he’d be her brother in s1, before they date). And after this sibling comment various characters -encouraged the couple and said they would be good together (before they dated-like what we’ve seen in st with mileven and other ships ).Sam eventually decides to not cave to peer pressure- and breaks up with her. Meanwhile sam’s sis (is a straight A student, who is initially into a popular guy and starts hanging with the cool kids). After getting over the first (popular) guy, she later dates another guy- a music-obsessed-stoner-guy with a cruddy dad...and she breaks up with him (like jancy?). That couple was even called ‘romeo & juliet’ before they broke up-similar to mileven being called “romeo & juliet’ before their breakup. plus r&j were never in love... just like mileven.

All 3 shows had the main guy/girl date but not end up with eachother in the end . And both shows -would build up several pairings that looked like endgame but would show faults in those relationships and would have them breakup (because those pairings were never that healthy together). Which I believe is what they’re doing with jancy, jopper, mileven and lumax (explained in my analysis here all the evidence for why I don’t think they don’t end up together). I mean there’s many reasons I listed in the analysis but you think it’s a coincidence - jancy, lumax, mileven , and Steve/rando girl who rejected him in s3-all incorportated spying on their love interest ? you think the duffers think that’s good to have all these romantic pairings spy on eachother? When in the show they canonically have the us gov (villains) spy via phone taps, and hidden recorders, and cameras? Brenner used El as a spy for his own gain ? they even call the mf a ‘spy’ (which the characters perceive as the main villain)... i don’t think the mf is actually villainous but that’s off topic).The point is narratively equating spying as something ‘wrong’ by characters our main cast of heroes is against. But having that same cast of heroes partaking in spying themselves … specifically on to their romantic partners- and not also showing it as a negative. But romanticizing it? Would be quite hypocritical. And a HUGE narrative oversight.

Also build up?

S1- mileven kiss right after el asks if he’ll be her “friend” or “brother”. Has others compare el to mike’s sibling /cousin. Hint Will is gay . Have hints mike is queer too/ and cares deeply about Will. Constantly mention how el physically resembles Will/a boy. Parallel mileven to ted/Karen who were “never in love”. Have Nancy and mike verbally compare the jancy/stancy love triangle to mileven/byler . And at the end of the season mike writes a story for Will that likens the 2 to han/leia. Flo says about jancy/Jon “ only love makes you that crazy and that damn stupid”. (Which flo wasn’t entirely right about since jon punched Steve for insulting his family- for Jon it was familial love -not romantic love. But put a pin in that phrase)

S2- was pretty much byler season (and mileven barely interact that season). Byler say they’d go “crazy together”. But el’s new catchphrase is she’s “not stupid.” They Compare mileven to luke/leia (siblings that kissed) . Ref ghostbusters and parallel byler to the romantic pairing of Dana /venkman (but have el just be a ghost and mike a ghost buster which isn’t romantic but the opposite) .parallel mileven to hopper/el. Have el spy on mike, el hurt a stranger cause of unhealthy jealousy, have mileven dance to a song about a possessive spying/Stalking ex gf . Throw in mileven burns like “they’re not in love they’re not even from the same planet.” (El being et ref) . Have mike say annoyed “a bond ?! (Scoff) cause you shared nougat?! “ (egos like s1 ) “. Mike saying after knowing max for a week “hate you? I don’t even know you?” (He knew el for a week too so no way he loves her -cause he doesn’t know el , just like max ) . mike even criticizes his friends’ instant attraction to max saying “you haven’t even spoken a word to her.”Dustin saying “ I don’t have to . I mean -look at her.” Which makes it even more suspicious that mike was into a girl who multiple characters said looked like a boy (specifically Will) in s1. Have El watch a soap opera (all my children) and mimic the scene of erica kane and her love interest michael. Which in the soap opera-isn’t endgame, and ended with some stalking after their breakup.

S3- mileven is finally dating : multiple characters (lucas, Will, Hopper, dustin,Max, etc) in the show dislike and verbally complain about them together . In cheers all of sam’s friends hated him dating Dianne and would vocally complain about it (similar to joyce they even clapped/cheered after 1 of their many breakups) . Mike is horrified by the spying(that mileven fans romanticized in s2) , el is happier single and neither is heartbroken over the breakup. They date for 2 eps and then breakup . Mileven being together inhibits El’s character arc from s2 (aka she went from wanting to explore the world and leave the cabin in s2 to see her friends, to ignoring her friends and cutting herself off from the world in order to stay in the cabin all day to make out with mike for 6 months - she would literally lie to her friends about curfew to return to the cabin and kiss mike -going against her ‘friends don’t lie’ mantra from the past 2 seasons too ). Mike canonically doesn’t trust her / doesn’t believe in her ability to make decisions and lies to her and never apologizes for lying. And el doesn’t apologize for spying . They throw in more gay hints of mike & Will. Mileven is called “bullshit” like s2 stancy . And Both pairings in the show kissed a bunch and said “I love you” (but they weren’t endgame). They also contrast s3 mileven scenes to s2 byler scenes and have byler win out. And once again parallel mileven to hopper/el and Karen/ted. As well as paralleling and likening Mileven to stancy in numerous other ways (besides the “bullshit “ line) . They also parallel mileven to stobin (both are straight baits) .They parallel the stobin confession to the mileven one -both confessions have them sitting on the floor, both girls have bandages on their legs, and both confessions are interrupted by dustin. Also both Steve/mike use the terms “crazy & stupid ” to confess to robin/el. But unlike Will who agrees to be “crazy “ with mike .El confused , asks “ what makes you crazy?” And robin says she didn’t have a crush on his “stupid hair”. el even says in reference to mike “there’s more to life than stupid boys.” Showing how el/robin don’t have romantic feelings for the boys-like the flo phrase of s1. Unlike Will who after fighting with mike calls himself “stupid” over and over and rips up the photo of him and mike where they promised to go “crazy together.” Even Steve says in s2 stancy should should “pretend to be stupid teenagers” in love. Emphasis on “pretend”. And when el says she loves mike “the first I love you” plays -the only other time that song plays in s3 is when robin rejects Steve (cause she’s gay.) cough cause mike is gay too.

There’s a lot more in each season (that illustrates mileven was built up -but not as a positive couple but a problematic one that was never was in love to begin with ). But I’m trying to keep this short . You can read this post here where I go in more depth about all of this .

S1-2 builds up the problematic ships (but showed good and bad aspects of their dynamic) . like the spying of jancy, lumax, and mileven or the jealousy. of Hopper in s2. In the s2 finalie they have them kiss or hug/exchange romantic glances. And in S3 we see the after math of this with all the couples officially dating - and they show all the couples issues at the forefront . I already talked about mileven. But, Lumax broke up 6 times (they dated for 6 months- and every month they dated max dumped him ). Jancy fight in the opening of ep 1 and don’t understand each others issues (sexism/poverty-and Jon’s issues with his dad) . And neither supports the other in their passions of journalism & photography.Nancy is also called “nancy drew” who in 1986 (year of s4) before going to college dumps her long term highschool bf (who helped her in many of her past mysteries/novels ). Their relationship was also shown as complex and somewhat dysfunctional because of both parties -before nancy drew dumps him. And (even if not dating like the other pairings) jopper almost go on a date in s3. Joyce was trying to hide the fact she was moving, Hopper was horribly jealous, and all they did was yell and argue.Murray says to joyce regarding hopper “he’s a brute... probably reminds you of a bad relationship” (aka lonnie/Joyce) . They even have Joyce watch a cheers ep- which directly compares jopper to (dianne/Frasier) who weren’t endgame in cheers but a rebound . Hopper /fraiser both drink chianti . Fraiser asks dianne to marry him/Hopper asks Joyce on a date-both women stand them up. Or when Joyce asks Hopper out she calls her self ‘detective byers ‘and Hopper name drops miami vice. Which had an on and off again relationship for several seasons- of the male /female detectives.The relationship faded out as Gina realized they mainly got together when one or both needed someone. Crockett was very protective of Gina, and had some jealousy when Gina was involved in relationships , but was the first one to be there for her when things went wrong. And they realized it was better to not be together romantically. Heck seems like all these couples have negative film/tv parallels... lucas in s2 mentions not liking winston in ghost busters cause he came ‘super late’ (like Max). in s1 disses michael myers (which Max dressed as). And at the end of s3- lumax dress identically to eric/donna from a ep of that 70s shows (in the ep eric/donna were broken up).

(s3 was marketed as the “summer of love” and “summer love” is a euphemism for flings that don’t last.) s4-5 Will probably show good healthy ships/break up the problematic ones from past seasons .

So first 2 seasons focus on the unhealthy ships / and the last 2 seasons focus on healthy ships. S3 the middle season would be considered the turning point -and why none of the popular ships (assumed to be endgame) came off looking that great (compared to how they were presented in s1-2) .

Snake! - Nightwing Imagine

The Reader is a new Young Justice team member and has been sent on a recon mission by Batman. You get hurt on the mission, in which a certain former Robin confesses to liking you when you’re recovering.

Your POV:

“Snake, are you in position?” Nightwing asked you through the mind link. “Affirmative. I see the computer with the research data. It’s protected by several unarmed guards,” you spoke back. Your codename was Snake, for your reptile like abilities. You were new to the team of Young Justice, but were a great addition. At the moment, you were on a mission with Nightwing, Superboy, Beast Boy, Kid Flash, and Miss Martian.

Batman gave you all a mission that involved stealth, in order to go a heavily armed secret lab by Stagg Enterprises and data on illegal genetic engineering. All thanks to an anonymous tip. Anyway, you were crawling through the air ducts and silently opened a vent cover near the ceiling. The others were secretly spying or taking out unsuspecting guards. You were wearing your crime fighting outfit (picture above) and wearing a mask, using your long claws to silently crawl across the ceiling. You observed your prey with yellow snake eyes and threw something to distract the men.

They immediately looked towards where you threw the tiny rock and you silently jumped on one of the men. He left out a grunt, which alerted the other guards. “Get her!” one of the men said when they saw you. You smiled under your mask and got ready to fight. One of the men threw a punch at you and you caught his arm throwing him onto the ground, stepped between collarbone and shoulder, then pulled on his arm. The man screamed as the bone cracked and dislocated. He fell unconscious from the pain as the rest of the men tried to hit you.

Everything became a blur as you dodged, jumped, counter, kicked, and punch the multiple foes. One guy, who happened to be the last, pulled down your mask. You took short work of him, opening your jaw wide like a snake, fangs glistening, and bit his neck. The man’s eyes rolled to the back of his head and his body went limp. You let go of him and he fell into a huddled heap. “Snake, come in. Do you read me?” Nightwing contacted you.

“I read you, Nightwing.” “Were you able to get the data?” “Just put the flash drive in. I had a run in with several guards. I had to break a couple bones and bite one to get through.” “Thank goodness your venom only knocks people out. I’d hate to have to drag you in for murder,” Nightwing joked.

“Haha, real funny, Gray,” you said sarcastically as you typed away on the computer. “And done. I got all the files.” “Good job, Snake. Now meet Miss Martian and me outside before-” Your conversation was interrupted by a loud bang. The doors into the room slammed open and several men, armed with guns, purred into the room.

You quickly climbed up the walls and onto the ceiling before any of the men could see you. You quietly climbed through the air ducts and away from the room. An alarm sounded, along with red lights, as you crawled through the air vents. “(Y/n)!” Dick called through the mind link. “I’m here. A couple of guys with guns stormed in and set off the alarm,” you responded. “Meet the others at the rondevu point,” Dick said.

“On my way,” you said. “(Y/n), please be careful. For me,” Dick said, his tone worried and sounding like he was begging you. “Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine. Go help the others,” you said. “Ok. See you in a little bit, (y/n).”

The mind link between you two was disconnected. You shock your head, trying to focus on the task at hand. This was not the time to worry about whether Dick felt anything for you! Anyway, you found a way out of the air vents, which led to outside the building. The vent was at least a dozen feet above ground. You kicked the vent grate off and jumped out, effortlessly landing on your feet. As soon as your feet touched the ground, you immediately sprinted towards the forest next to the building.

The tall, thick trees hid you from prying eyes from the building as you ran deeper into the forest. With your abnormal speed, you soon reached the clearing where the Bio Ship was landed. You slowed down as you stepped foot into the clearing, seeing all your teammates were safe and sound. Nightwing was standing by the entrance of the Bio Ship, a worried frown on his face. His expression brightened when he saw you arrive. But his happiness was short lived, as a gunshot sounded off and something hit you in the right shoulder. Pain spread through your body and you screamed in pain, the shear force and surprise of the bullet making you fall to the ground.

You weren’t able to catch your fall and hit your head on a rock on your way down. The world went black.

~Several hours later~

You woke up with bright lights shining in your face. You blinked your eyes, not used to the bright light. When your eyes were used to the light, you looked around to figure out your surroundings. You were in the medical bay of the Mount Justice, the headquarters of the Young Justice League. You were in a hospital bed, IV tubes in your arm and a heart monitor keeping your heart in check. You felt a weight on your legs and looked down at them. Dick was asleep on your legs, his head laying on his arms as he hunched over you.

His peaceful sleeping face was facing you and he didn’t have his mask on. Your arm, the one without all the needles and tubes, reached out and gently brushed his hair out of his eyes. Dick groaned and shifted, his eyes slowly opening. “(Y/n)?” he mumbled sleepily. “Hey, Dickybird,” you said, calling him by the nickname you gave him, with a smile. He shot up and almost tackled you to the bed. Your arms were hovering over him as he hugged you tightly, causing a pain to go through your shoulder.

“OW!” you shouted. Dick immediately pulled away from you, apologizing. “I’m so sorry, (y/n)! I just was so happy to see you okay and awake,” he said. “It’s okay. Um, I don’t remember anything after walking into the clearing, so what happened?” you said, slightly confused. “Well, you were shot in the shoulder by a guard following you through the forest. The bullet went straight through your shoulder, tearing muscle and breaking your collarbone. You hit your head when you fell. The team fought off the gunman and the other guards that followed you, while I carried you onto the Bio Ship and trying to stop the bleeding. When we got back, some of the mentors had to do some surgery on you. You’ve been out for almost 12 hours,” Dick explained.

You sighed in exhaustion and went limp against the mountain pillows behind your back. “Even with my healing abilities, I will still take at least a month to be fully healed,” you said, tired. You then realized something and pointed it out. “Wait, did you stay with the whole time I was asleep?” you asked, shocked. Dick’s cheeks got unnaturally red and he chuckled nervously. “Yeah, I did,” he admitted. “But why? I’m just a friend and a teammate of yours. I’m nothing special.”

Dick grabbed your left hand and held it in his larger one. “Are you kidding? You’re the most special thing to me. When I saw you get shot, my heart almost stopped. I even almost killed the guy who shot you, if it weren’t for Superboy holding me back,” he said. Dick looked at you with his beautiful bright blue eyes, showing he was telling the truth. “I thought you died and I felt so angry & sad that I didn’t get to tell you…” He trailed off, not wanting you to hear what he was about to say.

“Tell me what, Grayson? Please, just tell me, I promise I won’t get mad or tell anyone,” you coaxed him. He hesitated, then took a breath and blowing it out. “Okay, I’ll tell you. I love you, (y/n). Ever since I first meet you all those years ago. I never told you because I was scared you won’t like me back. Now, I feel like I don’t say it anytime soon, I never will be able to, for you might be gone forever,” he explained.

You were shocked; your crush likes you back! “Dick, I feel the same way. I thought you didn’t feel the same,” you replied. “Really?” You nodded your head, making Dick smile. You noticed he was leaning over the side of the bed, his face closer to you. You both closed the distance, sealing it in a sweet kiss.

Dick’s lips were soft and warm, making you smile in the kiss. One of Dick’s hands came up to cup your cheek, the other steading himself on the bed. One of your hands snaked up, no pun intended, to his hair. Your fingers swept through his hair, pulling slightly. Dick moaned into the kiss and licke dyour bottom lip, askign permission to continue. You gladly allowed him entry, the pink muscle to roaming the new territory. Oh God, I think I’m going to melt! you thought as you moaned in pleasure.

You had to unfortunately break away for well needed air, a string of saliva between you two. You both huffed, both your eyes filled with love and half lidded. “I love you, Dick,” you said when you regained your breath. “I love you more, (y/n),” he said with a smile. “Oh really, prove it.” Dick smirked and whispered in your ear, “Oh babe, if you weren’t injured, you would be in so much pleasure and begging for me not to stop.” You gasped and playfully hit him on the arm.

“Dick!” you exclaimed. He chuckled and said, “I’m sorry, I was too dirty. I’m okay with just kissing you.” “I forgive you, Dick. Now, come here, I want some cuddles,” you said and pulled him onto the bed. Dick just chuckled and happily snuggled your uninjured side to his chest. You guys would have fallen asleep like this, if it weren’t for a hyper speedster. “Hey, Dick! Is (y/n) awake? Did you tell her you have the hots for her yet?” Wally yells as he bursts into the room. “Wally!” you both groan.

AU!Robin Hood (Part V)

Prompt/Summary: This story is for @hunters-from-stark-tower’s movie!AU challenge. The story is set in the world of Robin Hood (Disney) but only loosely follows the plot. It is a modern-ish take. The reader will be a new character in the movie and not a spin-off of one of the characters.

As (Y/N) tried to stand on her feet, a cry tore out of her body, as her legs buckled from beneath her. The adrenaline had receded and she could no longer ignore the immense pain that she was suffering from. Coupled with the excessive blood loss and the incident that she had not fully recovered from last night, (Y/N) passed out on the garden floor.

When (Y/N) woke up, they were back at headquarters, their shack in the forest. Her side had been properly cleaned and dressed. Groaning, she opened her eyes and attempted to sit up.

“Guys, she’s awake,” commented Sam. “How you feeling heart?” Ah, heart. Sam’s nickname for (Y/N) was one that got on Clint’s nerves. But he never commented on it as it appeared to him as though no one else cared.

“Like I got stabbed. What happened?” An endearing smile graced Sam’s face.

“When you passed out, Clint carried you and we ran back. We encountered some more guards along the way and had to shake them loose but we got back.”

“So. They’re here still then.” A frown marred the pretty features of (Y/N)’s face. She didn’t trust Wanda and Maria, no matter who they were or what their status was. She needed time to figure out the two women, but at the moment, she was too mentally and physically exhausted. “Why?”

A deep sigh escaped Clint’s body, as though he was frustrated with (Y/N).

“What? It’s a valid question! I want to know why they’re still here! Who the hell are they? What is their motive? What do they want from us? How do we know they aren’t here to spy for Pierce and his goons? We know nothing about them and you just expect me to accept them without good reason?”

“I already explained –”

“You didn’t explain crap Clint! And if you did, you certainly did not think to fill me in. You know, even though I was stabbed trying to get you out of whatever situation you got yourself into again! I don’t understand why none of you will fill me in on anything despite knowing that I am fully –” A coughing fit racked her body then, stopping her mid-sentence. Her hand flew up to cover her mouth, and came away wet with blood.

“Shit, heart are you ok?” Sam quickly manoeuvered himself to squat next to (Y/N), who was doubled over on the couch. “Clint stop harping on her! You don’t even know what she went through when you two were down there getting tortured. You of all people know the strength of your connection with her! And Nat’s connection with her is strong as well! Coupled together, the pain of both of your injuries caused her to black out during an argument with Steve when she was trying to get him to rescue you! Why are you always so rude to her? You’re so inconsiderate Clint! You never consider the extent of the pain that she goes through daily because of her connections with people!”

(Y/N) placed a hand on his arm, effectively getting him to turn his attention to her immediately. “Stop giving him shit. It’s not worth wasting your breath over daily, Sam.”

Sam huffed loudly, guffawing in a sarcastic manner. “Even now! After all that you put her through, she’s still protecting you!”

“You’re just jealous that our bond is stronger than yours!”

“Jealousy has nothing to do with this! She’s like my baby sister and all you’ve done is put her through the wringer! It’s a wonder that she still feels like she has to come to your rescue time and time again!”

“Well she doesn’t! I don’t need her!” A loud gasp quieted the whole room. “Shit, that’s not – that’s not what I meant to -.”

“Save it Clint,” (Y/N) ran out of the room, a hand covering her quivering lip, another clutching her wounded side, tears streaming down her face. She was hurt. Terribly so. She didn’t think that he would be so heartless. Maybe he knew that she liked him and this was his way of letting her know that her feelings were not reciprocated. Or maybe, well she didn’t know but no reason she came up with could ease the pain in her heart. Sobs wracked her body as she pushed her body as much as she dared, running to the outskirts of town, where the forest began to clear. She had a bad feeling about doing so, but her intense emotions blocked out everything else.

Back at the Shack

“Sam, you gotta tell her I didn’t mean it. I –, it just slipped out. I was angry! I just –, oh God, she’s going to hate me forever!” Clint buried his face in his hands. He didn’t understand the burst of anger. Well, he understood it but he didn’t understand why his brain let his mouth spew garbage that he didn’t mean.

His feelings were exactly the opposite of what his mouth had said. He needed her more than he needed air. Not that anyone else knew besides Nat, who had, time and time again, encouraged him to confess to (Y/N) about his feelings. And yet, he never did. And now, he might have entirely botched any potential for a romantic relationship between them.

Just thinking about that made Clint simultaneously have a migraine and a strong urge to cry.

Just then, Maria came rushing into the room from the kitchen, where they had been resting while the team deliberated. Her hectic state alarmed everyone in the room, a feeling of unease oozed like black slime into the hearts of everybody.

“What? What’s wrong Maria? Where’s the forest fire?” Steve questioned.

“It’s (Y/N), she’s in trouble.” This caused Clint to shoot to his feet.

“How do you know? Where is she?”

“It’s Maid Wanda. They have similar abilities. My lady can’t feel connections but is able to sense flashes of trouble. That’s how she knew to meet you and Natasha when she did. That’s how she knew to lead you to the garden path instead of the kitchen path which would have been faster. But (Y/N) is in danger. That’s all I know. My lady passed out before she could relay more information. And if her past incidents are anything like this, it’ll be another hour before she awakes.”
