You're scrolling through Twitter on your phone while Sean and Lyla are joking around at the lunch table. Lyla looks at you from across the table and reaches over to poke your nose. "Hm... what's got our Y/N so occupied?" Lyla says, peaking at your phone.

"Hey!" You hold your phone against your chest defensively; however, Lyla has already seen your screen.

"Ooooo is that fanart of the character you keep texting me about~" Lyla teases you.

You playfully swat her away, blushing slightly. "Girl! Mind your business!"

Sean is now intrigued. "Why are you teasing her over a character? he asks.

Lyla grins devilishly. "Because, Sean, Y/N has a giant crush on him~"

You bury your head into your hands. "Oh my God," you groan, "Let me be in love with fictional men in peace."

Sean is now extremely curious. "Who's this character that you have a crush on?" he asks. '. . . and what could possibly be so great about him?' he thinks to himself, before mentally slapping himself in the face. 'Dude, this guy isn't even real. God, I'm stupid.'

Your face darkens quickly, a bright red blush on your face. "Oh! Uh. . . just someone from a game I've been playing. . ."

He doesn't let up. "Show me."

You blush. "What?"

"Show me. I'm curious about what your type is."

Your entire body is hot now. "Nope! I'm not showing you."

"Why?" he asks, mocking offense. "You trust Lyla but not me? Wowww I see what game you're playing."

"Oh nuh uh, Diaz. Don't you play the guilt-tripping game with me!"

Sean scoffs. "Why don't you wanna show me then?"

You blush. "Well. . . um. . . uh. . ." you stutter. 'How do I get out of this? Oh no.'

Lyla watches this unfold in front of her.

Sean pokes your side. "What are you so afraid of showing me?" he teases. He usually isn't so persistent on things like this, but, because it's you and who you like, he's extremely curious.

You finally give in -- you're afraid that if you continue hiding it and he figures out, he'll find you out. "Okay fine!" You pull up the character's page on Google. "Here, happy now?" You hand your phone to him.

Sean looks at the character page. He reads information about him and then notices one small thing-- the character is Mexican-American. He's Mexican-American. Does that mean. . . he's your type? 'No, that's just a stretch' he thinks, but that doesn't stop him from gaining a boost of confidence.

With this slight boost of confidence, he decides it would be very fun to tease you. "Ohhh okay. . . your type is Mexican boys?"

Lyla chokes back a laugh and you glare at her. You feel blood rush all over your face and to the tips of your ears.

"Oh my God, Sean. . ." you groan, burying your head in your hands.

Sean chuckles seeing your flustered state. His newfound confidence gives him the boldness to do this:

"Awww Y/N, I didn't mean to humiliate you~" he coos. He gets close to your ear and whispers, "Pero, puedo ser tu chico mexicano si me quieres. . ."

You squeak and lay your head down on the table, hiding from the entire world. While you're not a fluent Spanish speaker, 3 years in Spanish class helped you understand what he just offered.

Sean laughs at your reaction. 'She's so cute' he thinks.

You, however, find a sense of determination. You will NOT suffer a humiliation like this. You rise and look Sean straight in the eyes.

"Okay, I'll take you on your offer."

Sean looks at you inquisitively. "What?"

You smirk. "You just offered to be my personal Mexican boy? Yeah, I'll take you on that offer."

Lyla looks between the two of you, jaw on the ground.

It is now Sean's turn to blush. He was NOT expecting that response-- hell, he did not expect you to even understand what he just said. However, Sean does not want to lose this battle.

"Well, to accept the offer, you have to make me yours."

You sputter. "W-wha- how- What the fuck are you implying, you perv!"

Sean chuckles. "Well, if you want me to be yours, you have to have me. Drop by my house after school to accept my offer." Sean fucking, WINKS at you. "I'll be waiting for you, mi chica hermosa~"

You are at a complete loss for words. All you can do is stare at Sean because how the hell are you supposed to respond to that?

Lyla is damn near pissing herself laughing, but the two of you could care less about the entertainment the little gremlin is gaining from this debacle.

"Okay, bet. I'll meet you after school." You look at him, face red and eyes determined.

Sean is taken aback by your response but recovers. "I'll be waiting for you then~"

The bell rings. "See you after school, Hermosa."

"Yeah, and we'll see who chickens out first, asshole."

Sean chuckles to himself as you two part ways. Lyla walks with you to your next class to mercilessly tease you about the shameless flirting that just occurred.

You are mentally screaming at yourself, wondering what the hell to make out of the interaction.

Yeah, I think there is a lot of weird debate around "sexualization" of Astarion, and somehow ace people or ace headcanons are always dragged into it. There is a lot of defensiveness, I noticed.

Because there is a subsection of fans who are extremely quick to harrass, mainly. On twitter, in particular, there is a group of fans that usually goes around retweeting fanarts of artists to insult them, if the fanart is not "chaste" enough.

This is an example:

It is a type of fandom policing that goes against any kind of fandom etiquette. But also... I like to call it the Frollo from Notre Dame Effect. Because that particular piece of art does not sexualize anything, the character is naked, but the art focuses on how he is treated in game (treated as one of Cazador's treasures and objects to be stored away). It is almost haunting, as fanarts go. But somehow, this group of fans saw it and felt something (apparently they felt it was sexy), and instead of realizing it was their reaction, the uncomfortability of it made them lash out against the art itself.

I am just saying this to explain that sometimes I feel that the backlash against ace headcanons is set in this context. At least the one I got was set in this context, where this user decided that me trying to talk about canon events in the game = me trying to accuse them of being horrible people for sexualizing Astarion.

So in my case, the person immediately used my headcanon as "proof" that I was one of those people who did not want to sexualize Astarion.

The thing is that it kinda sucks (at least for me) that you cannot have an ace headcanon without somehow being labelled as someone who wants full on purity in fandoms.

This is what I think, in particular, regarding the sexualization of Astarion:

I am glad that in game he is not shown in full sex scenes. A part from ascended astarion (and for a reason), we never really see any sex scene with him. His spawn one is one of the least explicit in the whole game, and even his initial one is pretty much mainly focused on the seduction act (compare them with the Minthara one, or Halsin, or Gale or Karlach in act 3!).

Ascended Astarion having the more explicit sex scene is not by chance, given that choosing to let him ascend while in romance is directly connected with the vampire-fantasy the game wants to sell, and passionate sex is part of it.

On the other hand, I really don't care what people do in fandom with characters. That is outside the narrative, and does not change or influence the narrative of the game at all.

Twitter is the interesting mixed bunch. People coming out of everywhere, in this fandom or not, watching with VERY curious eyes as to whether this was actually gonna happen or not. Those people can have wild opinions from “this is never gonna happen it’s a shonen get over yourselves” and “omg are you guys gonna have your own yuri on ice moment?” I also happened to go into an mha discord server when 393’s leaks came out, and it was mostly people complaining that horikoshi is trying “so hard” to make toga sympathetic. People who just hate toga bc she’s toga pulling the dumbest claims out their asses. It’s interesting how, every time there’s a gay chapter, there seems to be a loud minority that likes to make fun of it, talk down on a certain character (toga or bakugou), make claims that it’s not gay before anyone even SAYS ITS GAY.

All of my friends who aren’t really into mha all that much were also celebratory with me when these leaks came out. (Except zay and lends so sillay we’ve been having a party)

I think it’s less about anything to do with her being into blood or whatever other bullshit they keep on trying to claim, and probably (most definitely) about the fact that a queer woman isn’t suffering. She isn’t “getting the consequences she deserves” or whatever. What they’re ACTUALLY mad about is that it’s not a queer tragedy. Imo at least.

There’s always exceptions but damn, the second a character is unconventionally relatable instead of so evil you can’t even comprehend it happening irl, you suddenly hate a characters flaws! Wow! It’s almost like they’re made to be flaws!

So, there's this blogger lady who used to be a pretty major voice in the Spanish SonAmy community for at least a decade, and yesterday she posted a new entry about Kishimoto's tweet on SonAmy and the fandom reaction it attracted.

Content warning: I'm gonna discuss some very archaic, homophobic things said in that article.

And so far so good but I started noticing she was getting a bit too aggressive with some tweets and taking Sonic Twitter's daily rancid takes way too seriously, as if it was her first interaction with that part of the fandom. She went out of her way to grab some tweets, debunk them and publicly shame haters. Ok, I guess.

And then, out of nowhere, she went into a tangent about Sonic's canon sexuality and... like... she starts saying a bunch of biphobic shit??? Like, of all things to get mad about Sonic Twitter, she decided to lash out against fans writing about Sonic being bisexual, and she gets very defensive saying "Sonic has been canonically straight since the beginning" and some wacky shit like "if you think Sonic and Knuckles were flirting in Frontiers you should go to therapy because that's a very toxic relationship, and if that's what homosexual love language looks like, then I'm happy to be straight". I'm not fucking kidding you.

And I'm sitting here legit confused because I didn't know where the fuck that came from? Or the fact it was very unnecessary and homophobic on her part to say all of that? Like, what the actual fuck?

The article ends with her writing about Western canon fucking everything up and SonAmy's current canonical status, which is fine but nothing we haven't discussed in the past in the SonAmy fandom. And the whole point of the article was to discuss SonAmy as a canon thing, not to go after bisexual Sonic headcanons! That tangent was fucking horrible.

Tbh I used to look up to that woman because back in the day her blog used to be a shining beacon of light in the Spanish fandom, but man, this was a very rude awakening. I stopped reading her years ago when I began writing my own articles and researching the dynamic on my own terms, and to see her not only repeat points we discussed 5 years ago, but to also fully display her bigotry in this way... damn, what a letdown.

I love SonAmy, it's been my OTP for almost 20 years. I love SonAmy in every way, regardless of canon, gender or sexuality they may be represented. Fuck bigots, homophobes and transphobes in our community. I won't tolerate this shit even if we share a common ship. It is not the way to discuss SonAmy, and that article will certainly not help us at all in the fandom.

Also, as a bisexual myself, the fact I'm the one being told to "go to therapy" for engaging in some fun lighthearted SonKnux shipping stuff instead of the adult woman making a whole scene out of people shipping whatever the fuck they want and rambling about how proud she is to be heterosexual is very amusing to me.

If the thing that triggered this fandom figure so much was people sharing bi!Sonic fanart and headcanons on Twitter, instead of the fact some fans weaponize other ships to constantly attack, harass and "debunk" SonAmy fans, I think the one who has a big problem here is her.

as a person on team green twt that surrounds herself with alys rivers enjoyers/alysmond shippers, i don't think they were the first to start things, though at the same time i don't believe them to be blameless. there were countless times when a completely unrelated alysmond tweet started getting traction and all of a sudden its author was under fire with helaemond shippers on the front lines. to this day no tweet about alys, even outside of romantic context - for example just talking about the potential of her character, can avoid gathering at least several negative and private quote retweets either from other shippers, team black stans or even jealous aemond fans.

im guessing because of that they're super defensive over her character and resolve to putting their anger and frustration onto the first visible target. which is probably the same reason behind always mentioning alys' status as aemond's canon lover. and as much as i can't stomach helaemond (while at the same time honestly believe it to be a better alternative to l*cemond, at least in this instance people aren't using the likeness of a real life minor in nsfw content) i do agree that everyone has the right to ship what they want if they're not harming anybody along the line. ig all i want to say is that bad apples exist on both sides of the conflict. ive found out that its better to just curate the content you want to engage with, ignore the rest and under any circumstances not bother oneself with snarky quote retweets.

the names i've been called, the way alys and alysmond shippers interacted with helaemond shippers who make fanart, the way i've had multiple people come into my mentions uninvited to argue on behalf of it, even trying to pose like they're not fans only to later admit it and resort to namecalling.

just last week someone said "don't share the movie where ewan is a r*pist without proper warning, but what can i expect from a helaemond shipper?" implying somehow that we're all really morally bad people

and as evidence about how i argue about every other topic on my blog, i'm not likely to let go of my resentment because it's been a bad experience and i am resentful of it.

as a last note, it's a bit backhanded to say the only thing that makes helaemond better than lucemond is because it's not ped*philia.

i find the whole tifa "SHOULD" be buff on twitter really sad. Some people are really taking the white Knighting complex and missing out why some are saying factual stuff about her. I am a little disappointed. But actually, overwhelming fan support for Season 2 episode 1 was why I made that video in the first place. Because I felt so confused why everyone is worshipping it when it is not a good episode. You can delete it entirely, and the show would move on without issue. It wasn't necessary. The comment section is a mess, so I'm not gonna really look at it anymore. Some people have tried to defend this episode, and some defenses are fine! I can kinda see where people are coming from, but will still humbly disagree.

Other people though are defending this episode with "hetero cis people are so mad, ahaha!" "Wow, you're homophobic lol" and "Who cares, it's LGBTQ+ representation! We're not allowed to critique it, you should just be grateful we HAVE media representing us!" or "It's not a retcon, you're just mad your headcanon isn't true" and "Stella is abusive, are you defending an abuser?!" and those people have completely and utterly missed the mark.

Some defenses for this episode are people giving Viviziepop a MAJOR benefit of the doubt, like "the show isn't over yet! things can be explained to us!" or "this episode was shown from Stolas's POV so of course its different!" or "there's probably a gap in the timeline you missed!" and "who cares that Stolas and Stella are flat characters, they don't need to be anything else!" or just blatant "it doesn't ruin the show, what are you talking about" as though they didn't listen to anything I explained asdfghjkll;

Stolas's character is gonna go nowhere. It's just Stolas following Blitzo around like a lovesick puppy for the next season or two. I don't want to see that. He's just gonna get kicked around by Blitzo! The point was balance! They were both jerks, but now they're not. There's no chemistry here.

A lot of people will try and point out "no Blitzo does love him!" and whatnot, but that's another issue, because the writing is inconsistent, and the timeline has been messed up. You can't defend things like this without bringing up scenes that, unfortunately, make no sense now because of this episode.

So again, disappointed that people are defensive about it. Helluva Boss is allowed to be criticized. It's expected to have poor writing or mess up sometimes, almost every show does, especially one made by inexperienced people that are still growing with their project. A bigger thing: people are allowed to like the episode! But you can also like an episode but also critique it. You can like it emotionally but understand logically it doesn't make any sense. I absolutely LOVED the song in that episode, even though my friends pointed out to me the song is completely useless! We already know that Stolas is a lonely, depressed prince; and unfortunately, the song also regards Stolas's changed backstory which I have relentlessly critiqued and claim is unnecessary. But I still like the song regardless! It's possible to like something but also dislike it at the same time.

Someone on twitter screenshot my video and made fun of it, and it got 300+ likes and retweets and whatnot. It's unfortunate because there's a chunk of people that said "I don't even need to watch this and know this video is bad!" Which, again, I'm disappointed in you people! You should know better. But twitter tends to be a cesspool of fighting, so I didn't reply to any of it. I just don't understand why people are so defensive about a Helluva Boss episode. I think the "uwu so cute babies!" have kinda blinded people to the overall picture and made people lose sight of the original point of the show: complexity.

2. Of course! I'm happy to accept fan art! I love featuring it too, though sometimes I can forget to feature them or misplace the art across the platforms I receive them on, ahaha.. Sometimes I don't find fan art for like... 6 entire months after someone posted it, even though it looks like they tagged me! But I go searching for it every now and then and typically find it!

3. OOOOOHHHH, I'm happy to answer this one! This is a tough one. I think the Cherub episode is my least favorite, which to my understanding is the general consensus amongst the fanbase. The Cherubs had potential, but the episode plot is lackluster. It did establish that life can be beautiful but also horrifying which is good commentary on existentialism, especially in the context of religion which is a jab at the concept of God and Heaven. There are a lot of religious people out there that completely ignore all the messed-up things God did, or even his followers did, and worship him out of fear or misplaced admiration. This episode brushes over that, claiming you make one mistake, that perhaps wasn't even really your fault, and you will be banned from eternal peace with no chance to repent. It's told in a silly way, when realistically speaking it's horrifying, especially for the Cherubs, and even ties into potential lore and conflict in Hazbin Hotel since it surrounds a similar premise. I want to see them grow more unhinged and be a legitimate threat to IMP in the future, to make them more interesting. Otherwise we just kinda see them as goody-two-shoed babies that don't pose a threat.

My favorite Helluva Boss episode would probably be... maybe a tie between Truth Seekers and Ozzie's.

Truth Seekers was a big development episode. It's unfortunate that it appears it came way too soon in this series. It would have been better if it was released perhaps a few more episodes down the line, because despite the "development" of them working better as a team, that development seems to be forgotten or lost as we get more episodes in the season. They just revert right back to their original ways.

But Blitzo respects Moxxie more, Millie and Loona disregard Blitzo's orders to rescue them, Blitzo supports Millie and tells Loona how proud he is of her; and in the end, Stolas of all people shows up, showing he is an extremely dangerous, powerful, manipulative jerk (with that 'plaything' comment), but ALSO showing genuine concern and care for Blitzo, ending with a passionate kiss??? Holy shit dude no one was prepared for that episode. Packed full of development, much-needed interactions, badass fight scenes, and even anxiety-inducing hype with their plot set up at the end.

I like that there are some humans that actually believe in demons and are actually trying to fight back against them and investigate them; the sheer amount of potential they have, especially if IMP and Stolas are the ones who accidentally break the statue of secrecy and reveal the existence of demons and Hell to the ENTIRE human world? There are so many consequences on both sides of that equation, like holy shit- this plot is GREAT

When it comes to Ozzies; I have some friends that didn't like Ozzie's for a couple reasons: the song goes on too long, Blitzo is still being a weird stalker to Millie and Moxxie despite what happened in Truth Seekers, and Stolas and Blitzo kinda rush into a date and it goes terribly; it feels really one-sided because of Blitzo's behavior, especially at the end. You're the one who used Stolas, like why are you getting all weird about it if you didn't actually care for him? (again, inconsistency issue in writing)

I understand all of that, but .... god I still love that episode. The colors are beautiful, I love Ozzie's song, I love real Fizz's appearance, I like that Ozzie and Fizz might be hypocrites in regards to Blitzo and Stolas's relationship, I love that Blitzo and Stolas finally realized their relationship is kinda fucked up and they don't have a ton in common and they're unsure how to move forward from it, I love that Blitzo's ex Verosika made a second appearance and revealed further that she actually was deeply in love with Blitzo and reveals more about how awful he was to her in her relationship, I love that we get several pieces of lore at the end of the episode, where Blitzo still cherishes his memories and potentially even the people in those photos; including his childhood friend Fizz, his ex Verosika, his coworkers Moxxie & Millie, his daughter Loona, his mother and sister, and even potentially Stolas himself.

There was just a lot of lore and backstory context given in this episode. It was such a great setup to me, and season 2 episode 1 just kinda... tore it all down... 'tis sad.

But yeah Truth Seekers and Ozzies? Love them episodes. Love 'em dearly!!!

Loki was screaming. Not in pain, not in sadness but in absolute rage.

He had been thrown into a dark room bare of anything, not even a window. He couldn't see three steps in front of him and he was beyond livid. How dare he be imprisoned like this!

He shouldn't truly be so mad to be imprisoned as he had been imprisoned before, more times than he could count really and he wouldn't have been if he hadn't been so violated and used beforehand by some sick Variant of himself.

Loki had tried and failed to use his magic to blast the locked door off its hinges only to find his powers had abandoned him which he could admit if only to himself, made him very scared. His magic was one of his most important weapons and now it was just...gone.

It made Loki all the more angrier. He had been used and violated and now after all that, he was trapped in a locked room without his magic to defend himself.

Eventually, Loki came to the conclusion that he was going to have to wait and see exactly what it was this Variant wanted from him. Though what he wanted he had already taken it seemed.

Loki sat on the far wall, glaring at the locked door across the room as he shivered in the dark since the Variant hadn't bothered giving back his clothes after violating him.

Tears threatened to rise up that he stubbornly ignored, squeezing his eyes shut tight as he tried to simply breathe.

He must have fallen asleep at some point because he woke to the sound of the cell door opening. Loki blinked his eyes open, looking up at the Variant, and mustered up an impressive glare.

President Loki only smirked as if amused by Loki's little show of control. Control they both knew he didn't have. "Enjoying your little nap?"

Loki gritted his teeth as he pushed himself to his feet, taking up a defensive stance. "What did you do to my seiðr?"

President Loki grinned sharply. "Well, I couldn't simply let you keep it when you insist on being so disobedient. Naughty Pet's don't get to have their toys to play with."

Loki internally seethed, glaring daggers at the other god. "I am not a Pet."

President Loki's smirk widened to show his perfectly white teeth. "No, you're not a Pet. Not at all."

Loki didn't even see him move until President Loki had him pressed hard against the wall, hands pinned above his head with only one of President Loki's hands wrapped tight around his wrists, squeezing hard enough to make the bones grind together.

President Loki gripped Loki's chin, forcing the disadvantaged god to look at him in the eyes. "You're my Pet. Mine and only mine."

Loki growled low in his throat, a dangerous noise that would usually make anyone else think twice about touching him. But President Loki didn't seem to notice or simply didn't care. "Let me go."

President Loki tilted his head to the side, an amused smile on his face. "Is adorable that you believe you can command me."

Loki tried tugging his head away but President Loki had a grip of steel. "Then you should know I will refuse to listen to what you tell me to do. I will not be your...your slave."

"Oh, I have no intention of making you my slave," President Loki told him with a disarming smile. "No, you're simply...entertainment. You wouldn't believe how boring it can be at the end of time. All Loki's here are the same but you...you are different."

Loki twisted his wrists, hoping to break the grip on them but it was just as tight as the one on his chin. "I don't care if I'm different. I demand you release me!"

"You'll learn your place soon enough," President Loki murmured, ignoring Loki as he gripped his chin tighter so much that Loki knew there would be bruises there later. "But until then, you'll stay here, until you learn where your place is."

"And where exactly would my place be?" Loki asked, venom dripping from every syllable.

President Loki's eyes darkened, his grip on Loki's chin easing up on the pressure, instead running down to Loki's neck, wrapping around it and squeezing tight. "At my feet."

Loki choked as he tried to draw air into his lungs but the Variant's grip was too tight and Loki's hands were still pinned, unable to use them to pull the hand away from his throat.

"Soon enough, I'll have you kneeling at my feet like a good, obedient Pet should," President Loki told him, his tone making it sound like a promise, making Loki shudder. "And you'll enjoy it."

Loki coughed when President Loki's hand released his throat, sucking much needed air back into his lungs. His voice was rough when he spoke. "I'll n-never kneel to y-you again. I will never want to kneel to y-you. Not ever."

President Loki's smile was cold and cruel. "We'll see, Darling."

Loki didn't see the dagger in President Loki's free hand until it was driven through both of his own, ripping through flesh like it was paper and pinning them to the wall.

And this time, Loki was screaming in pain. It tore from his throat, his brain only just able to process the agonizing pain that spiked from his hands and all the way down his wrists and arms to his shoulders. It made him wish he couldn't feel anything. He wished he could go numb.

President Loki released Loki's wrists as blood dripped down them, staining the wall Loki was now pinned again in red.

"Stay."

Tears streaked Loki's cheeks as President Loki turned away dismissively as if Loki was no longer worth his attention and walked to the door, leaving the room but not before throwing one last smirk over his shoulder.

Then the door shut and Loki was plunged back into darkness.

He sobbed pitifully in the dark, blood making the blade of the dagger pinning Loki's hands glitter a deep red that looked nearly black.

Tbh I don't remember my very first OC because that was when I was in my teenage years, but the first newer one that I actually drew is Honey! I drew her when I was getting back into art after I said fuck it because my high school art teacher was a pompous dickhead creep that yelled at me in front of everyone for starting to paint on accident instead of doing another step. I was supposed to have her be my Among Us OC with her last name being Pot and how she's frenemies with Pink Crewmate (and she knows who she is 💀). I should redraw her sometime!

My Mortal Kombat OC Dji'Vanah! Long story short, she's an Outworld assassin that out-classes Kitana, Jade, and Skarlet combined. She goes on a quest for vengance after the Brotherhood of Sin pilaged her home and killed her loved ones. She meets Hanzo and teams up with him on multiple missions before they fall in love! Dji'Vanah's important to me because even though Mortal Kombat and its characters and settings are already established, I really expanded my mind in worldbuilding. What are other regions of Outworld? Do they exist? Who are the citizens? What powers do they have? Did they get taken over by Shao Kahn? What of other factions? What about their cultures? There's so many questions that won't get answered unless you make them. And she's so well-designed that every single artist made her BEAUTIFUL and her hair is versitile! Not gonna lie, I'd wanna meet my Resident Evil OC Christie Belle Silverheart. Girl's a bad bitch but she's really just a softie that just wants to be protected. My Resident Evil OC Christie Belle Silverheart. At first, she was an un-named OC that was just a mere museum tour guide getting a bite to eat after work. She ends up meeting Carlos Oliveira after he saved her life. She's scared shitless but sticks with him and survives using his advice of survival tactics before they end up separating. The OC was on a train to leave before Carlos and Jill meet until shit popped off due to Nemesis fucking around. The OC then comes across a little girl (like how Sherry and Claire meet) and protects her from her parents that got infected from saving their child. The OC takes the girl with her and they survive by hot wiring a nice car and dipping about twenty minutes before the nuke is launched. The OC pretty much adopts the girl and they go back to living at her parents for the time being after having to travel almost across the country to get there. Then like two years later, after Carlos pinky-promised he wouldn't leave the OC in a cold, cruel, Carlos-less world, he coincidentally meets the OC and the kid after trying to lay low from what happened in Raccoon City. Then they really can delve in their feelings for each other. And all that got scrapped for what I got with Christie 💀

Lmao, hi, I know this is random but I was just thinking about Darling in the Franxx and Iron Widow and needed to share something.

So first off, I watched Darling in the Fraxx when I was maybe 14 or 15 and it deeply traumatized. As in, I wanted absolutely nothing with anime, no way, nothing. And I have gotten over that and have watched anime but I am still not touching that.

And then yesterday I was wasting time in Twitter and saw a publishing announced the english translation of the DitF manga and sjahdhahshaja the caption was literally "Horned up and ready to ride" and maybe it's my mind in the gutter but i think I have being traumatized again.

It look around five google searches of Iron Widow fanart, memes, incorrect quotes and reading the author's tweets for my soul to recover and i can't stop laughing. For me, Iron Widow is literally what I was always dream of doing when I see something I don't like and think "i could have done better, writing this and that instead".

(Spoiler warning, seeing PotC trending again and seeing all the people bitter at Elizabeth and Will's ending, I am already writing my own sapphic pirate ideas, definitely with magic and lots of swords)

(Second spoiler warning: I blame Xiran Jay Zhao for now making me curious about writing a polyamory relationship, but it's instead enemies to lovers, friends to lovers and childhood friends to lovers, where, so far, the main focus would eb around this girl who wants to protect her asexual childhood best friend from another heartbreaker when this new guy wants to strike friendship. She won't trust him at all and will always defend her friend while the guy literally only wants friendship and it's much later that he starts catching feelings for the friend. But before that happens, the guy and the best friend form a reluctant Proctection Squad for the girl after he realizes why her friend is always at the defensive and then later two fall in love.

I am well aware this is all crude and needs work, it's a draft, I only came up with the idea when I was thinking how I would had develop Yizhi and Shimin's relationship more [we were robbed!], and i like it. Obviously, I need to flesh out the friend beyong asexual and cool, i don't want flat bread, but so far I am too caugh up in the idea of the guy and best friend bickering non-stop. I have this scene in my head where he goes to the bookstore to buy her a present but isn't sure what she likes, so he calls her friend and after bickering back and forth, the end calls with the guy buying three books and the best friends begrudgingly acknowledging his dedication and liking having discovered his own taste in books)

why you should check out future smp!

future smp is a small minecraft server started by mysticat, frostbyte freeman, and animagician. the server's whitelist now has a roster of 23 very cool creators, including people like pixelcraftian, zyphon, and firebreathman!

every player is genuinely such a sweet person. like i cannot tell you enough how great they are. theyre thoughtful and they try to learn, and listen if theyve been corrected. they're all so nice to be around. a rly great bunch.

they have lore! it's not super intense, just every few streams or so they do in character stuff. and they let us know beforehand and usually will have lore in the title. and if you're behind on lore, they have a lore document summarizing events so far for people who've missed things! in addition, the events of the christmas arc are on youtube :)

frostbyte freeman's monologues are legitimately a reason you should watch this, mans improvises dramatic ass speeches and heartfelt, real, and raw character arcs and THEN goes on twitter and posts screenshots of a build hes made as part of a character beat and leaves us an emotional playlist with a title in italian

they're all pretty young! the streamers range in age from 13 year old apden to 23 year old mysticat. it's honestly really cool to be watching creators who are younger than me (and who are peers in age with many of my friends) because it feels kind of like I am supporting a younger sibling sometimes. makes me proud. and especially with that in mind, their maturity is astonishing - apden in particular was one of the creators at the forefront of calling out a creator who was scamming and sexually harassing people.

they are Queer !! that I know of there are 4 members who use any pronouns, two gay people, and two bisexuals!

they are funny! frost's weird ass dynamics with literally everyone else make me laugh out loud, mysty has such great comedic timing, deadhawk and longjaws have a really cozy and fun dynamic that fills me with joy, they're all so much fun. wolfeei showing up to a presidential campaign debate wearing a shirtless buff skin. keegan deciding that his detective uniform is a maid dress. bigman walking up to the mic and saying "free my mans he ain't do nothing wrong" in response to wrongfully incarcerated animagician asking which candidates would free him. jack notsouls being a flower loving catboy who thinks that giving flowers to the ominous void rift in the sky is a good idea

the community is really great! we're mostly based on twitter where the creators tend to hang out but its really great being able to easily interact with them and each other, like we have a groupchat there and a discord server! it's a lot of fun and just about everyone in the community is wonderful. it's an interesting mishmash of people from the creators' stream chats/fanbases pre-smp, irl friends, online friends, and people who came because they saw frost's "how the blue bats won mcc 9" video and liked his content and found future that way

they appreciate artists SO much. a bunch of them have fanart reels with credits on their streams, they reply to just about everything, they get so happy to see art you have no idea. they have the custom pictures in item frames plugin on the server so they can hang fanart! they have art by me and by many of my friends on the walls of the government building! hell j even wrote a fic and linked it on twitter and the guy I wrote it about read and approved it! and to top it all off they Commissioned Me to make them their official group picture, like! that's supporting artists baby!!!

you want interesting character designs? they have two frogs, a cat, a penguin, a bird, a tedsattic, an ironstarr, and a literal cookie. rinnly wears a box on their head. dec is a goth. pixelcraftian is a funny little man. john needs a life is a jojo cosplayer. bigman is a snowman. bigman is also the president. the penguin is his secretary of defense.

a handful of them are current or former MCC testers, many of whom met or became testers because they were runner-up mcc 10 applicants, and dec is a noxcrew artist! theyve also participated in smaller events in the community, or even bigger ones, like minecraft ultimate! the upcoming retro rivals event has 4 future smp members on team space invaders (the fact that they didnt put pixelcraftian, the man whose brand is Loving Mario, on the mario team is a crime).

Yeah I'm genuinely just. Not having much fun in the DSMP fandom anymore

My hyperfixation is keeping me here and the fact that I enjoy posting on this blog n interacting w followers

I barely even watch lore streams anymore n I focus on recaps. I'm no longer the person who would sit n watch every single POV of every event bc I'm just so Burned Out

Different opinions of different characters with different POVs is such a cool idea and I love the DSMP for it but,,, when my hyperfixation is centred around L'Manberg and c!Tommy lore,,,, and the fandom has grown so large there's apologist discourse around every corner,,,,, its impossible to escape the constant hate on the characters I enjoy. Like I've watched every single OG L'Manberg stream from Wilbur Tommy Tubbo Niki Fundy n Jack and I've watched every Tommy DSMP stream all live and while I do watch other streamers These are what would bring me the most joy

I do participate in apologist discourse a lot and I Would like to tone it down but I genuinely just. Dont know why I engage myself with such negativity. It's not like I Want To? I would love for this blog to be filled with non negative analysis and opinions and just clips and fanart and positive things

I see hate on the things I enjoy and I just feel the need to refute it bc I cant get rid of it. I have been Blocking everything that makes me even slightly uncomfortable on Twitter and even Then I cant get rid of everything

I say this as someone who has been here for like 9 months and has been watching the DSMP since Tommy had like 2k viewers. This fandom has gotten so large and overwhelming and negative it's just Not the same anymore

Whenever anyone insults something I have a hyperfixation on it's like I take it personally when I shouldn't. It's not just the DSMP its with other hyperfixations as well, like with cats its me getting defensive if someone says something as simple as "dogs are better than cats" or "cats suck / cats are evil"

Its ultimately a Me problem n me being so painfully neurodivergent and never learning how to deal with it bc I was diagnosed so late and learned all my info off the internet

Seeing people complaining about the lack of anniversary rewards is getting so tiring. The game's ratings dropped to like 2 on Google play, all comment sections of official accounts are full of complaints. I know and understand that people are upset but it's just so so tiring to the point where I unfollowed most accounts that aren't related to fanart or fanfiction because of all that negativity

I personally spent (a little) money on the game so I get where p2w players come from but idk. I saw that we didn't get anything and moved on pretty quickly. Maybe that's just me, idk

Read if you like, don't if you don't--this is just my opinions and stuff based off my experience knowing Eastern gatcha games as well as talking about using a 5* vs 4* of the same build + slot

My turn for a Hot Take (tm)

Yeah I understand this--I've been feeling so drained and my enjoyment of the game and writing has diminished immensely because all I see everywhere is just that.

I understand that the event rewards suck but at the same time? I realize how gacha aren't really popular here in the West--and I have seen a lot of comparison between Genshin and Cookie Run but they're also two entirely different genres despite both being gacha. Not to mention that Cookie Run is fast at first until you get to around uhh Kingdom lvl 37~~ and you're stuck and can't go forward because things cost too many materials or your cookies aren't strong enough even though you have several stars on your team consisting of epics built as optimally as possible-

So the maintenance rewards for Cookie Run have been the only significant amount of gems I've been getting for a few weeks now compared to when I first started and could do 10 roll after 10 roll.

Also also, Cookie Run is PvP (arena, guilds, etc). Being able to get more rolls is absolutely a gamechanger. If you can't get a good defense cookie or healer cookie, you're fucked.

So!! That's why Cookie Run is more generous with rolls. You're not going to want to keep fighting other people in the Arena or doing Guild stuff if they don't add in those generous rewards.

On the other hand, Genshin Impact is an open world rpg w/ co-op (note, co-op doesn't count as pvp because you're collaborating) where you can build pretty much any of the characters to be viable (dps/vampire Barbara is one major example, Noelle is a guarantee roll character for that beginner's banner and she can easily be built to be a tank/healer/dps to fill whatever slot you desire)

So they're not going to be incredibly generous w/ rewards because the characters you have--meta or not--don't really effect your ability to play the game (unless we're talking spiral abyss which really is considered endgame anyway) when you're able to get at least one character of each element for free I mean, you start out with traveler who can be anemo, geo, or electro once you get to the respective places, Amber, Kaeya, Lisa, Barbara (iirc, you need to get to rank 20?), Xiangling (complete spiral abyss floor 3), and Noelle (reduced cost 10roll w/ guaranteed Noelle).

Which would be one of each element and a variety of one of the 5 weapon types nodnod.

Time to talk about builds and why it's not necessary to have a 5* unlike in other gatcha games like Cookie Run (again, a kingdoms builder) before going back to the anniversary stuff

But continuing, like Eula is considered a fantastic 5* character who features a kit that is based around her being a physical damage character. My sibling, C, has her built and she does some insane damage.

On the other hand, I have Xinyan built as a physical dps and if you were to compare their damage?

With crit, C's Eula deals 9k to 14k with Skyward Pride (5* claymore w/ energy recharge substat). With crit, my Xinyan deals 8k to 13k with Song of Broken Pines (5* claymore w/ phys substat) OR 7k to 10k with Prototype Archaic (4* craftable claymore w/ attack substat).

Both C and I agree that they're pretty evenly-matched in the sense of damage output.

We have similar builds focusing on physical damage, however, C's Eula uses 4pc Pale Flame and my Xinyan uses 2pc Bloodstained, 2pc Pale Flame (both have the 25% phys damage bonus for the 2pc). It's also good to note that both their Eula and my Xinyan have a physical dmg % cup.

So just by stacking up more phys on Xinyan, you get a physical dps (with some elemental support capabilities due to her E and Q) you can easily make her deal consistent, reliable damage that is comparable to a fully built Eula. Ofc, I'm sacrificing Xinyan's shield, but since she's built to be a physical dps, it doesn't matter anyway.

Another thing is Zhongli is an incredible shield support. His shield?? Absolutely insane because it's based off his hps. Guess who else has a hp-based shield and heals??? Diona. Another incredibly good support 4* with a shield and healing would be Noelle!

But with Diona, specifically since I did kinda cover over Noelle already, she can easily be built along with her shield having over 100% uptime (like how Zhongli has over 100% uptime). The fact that Diona is also a healer definitely is a perk too.

Ofc the difference with this is that Zhongli can be built as a burst support/dps while Diona is not. But the point isn't that--the point is that you don't need a 5* shield support to have a good, reliable shield support.

But regardless of 4* or 5*, to get a viable character, you need to build them well. So if your character isn't doing satisfactory damage, you just have to take a quick peek at what artifacts they're running and fix as needed!

Another thing--

Talking about the rewards and stuff for the anniversary-

Generally, gatcha games aren't really that generous with rewards and instead usually have some sort of event. In this case, I'm pretty sure that Moonchase is considered a part of the anniversary which is why it's giving so many rewards- just the primos from the first day alone with the chests and quest was enough for two rolls (40 chests * 5 primos each + 60 from the quest and a few that I forgot where they come from but are from the event) as well as the 4* Luxurious Sea Lord claymore.

Before you say that it's shitty for them to make a festival into the anniversary event, I'm certain that people would complain if the anniversary rewards were just a little more than the 10x fates and stuff and that's it because it'd feel like they're skipping over the anniversary entirely. (keep in mind, festivals don't normally give this much stuff in terms of primogems from what we've experienced so far--they're mainly focused on the free event weapon you can get and build like with Festering Desire, Windborne Ode, Dodoco Tales)

Also companies love taking advantage of festivals to make an event bigger + more fleshed out. It'd be otherwise kinda boring to have to just log in every day for a week (not to mention, not everyone does that) and encourages players to play to get rewards.

yeah, that's supposed to work in their favor because they want to keep interest.

So the fact that there's a lot of backlash on everything going on is tiring and also?? I want to make the point that they'll only listen to so much. Getting heard is important, but there will be a point where Mihoyo will just stop listening to the players entirely because all they're getting is a constant barrage of "this event is the worst" "no one likes that character" "(insert character) when???" "okay but where's (blank) rerun?" pasted over the forums, discord, twitter, facebook, instagram--

You can't keep demanding more while also talking shit constantly about the new stuff added because then they'll just not add those new stuff because we (general) seem to never be satisfied.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up just cutting Genshin Impact as a loss entirely if this continues as it has and gets even worse.

But I digress.

Anyway, I agree that it sucks that the daily login rewards for the anniversary are just cut and pasted from the Lantern Rite, but as someone who's played a lot of gatcha games, it's pretty much the standard.

Have a daily sign in for rewards and a big event featuring a ton of stuff you can get instead of having an 'official' anniversary event.

I'm sure there's a lot I'm missing because it's not coming to mind, but yeah. These are my general thoughts on what's happening with the discourse.

S’all good, kinda figured you weren’t being, and a lot of people have asked me this lol. There are so many reasons, and I’ve said this so many times already, but I’ll try to go over some of the main things I can remember:

1) Arrogance: kinda put me off how he’s always responded to criticism. Always kinda had an air of superiority about shit, and it never really bothered me on its own because I think lots of CCs are arrogant & I’m arrogant myself, but combined with all of the following, it became a reason for me to dislike him lol

2) Manipulation of his audience: look, I kinda always knew that CCs with huge fanbases, especially CCs who grow this quickly, have some kind of grasp of how to treat and foster their audience to their greatest advantage. I’ve always been wary of CCs that put on soft or nice personalities, especially since the whole Shane Dawson debacle. But with Dream, it’s been a whole other thing ever since his cheating response video, and I’ve never been able to see him in a good light in regard to how he responds to his fans, ever since. I went into it in a lot more detail back when I first watched the video, the day it dropped, but I’m too exhausted to scrounge that post up, so I’ll summarize: that video had a very specific strategy that he used to victimize himself and appeal to his fans’ compassion for him, and after rewatching the video for the third time that day, it felt gross and calculated to me. The way that he focuses very little on the actual mathematical part of his argument. The way he frames the issue of the mods having favoritism or bias. It was already proven on Reddit and throughout Twitter that the numbers the mods looked at were for good reason, and not because they just wanted to pick the numbers that made Dream look the worst, but that’s how he framed the argument. When I logged onto Twitter and Tumblr that day, there were thousands of fans who had latched onto what he said in the latter half of that video and coming to Dream’s defense, and that’s kinda when it hit me: this guy fucking knows what he’s doing, and he’s doing it well, and I really really dislike it. There’s about a hundred other ways he manipulates his audience, including not coming to people’s defenses when huge chunks of his audience attack them (even though the people had respectful and correct criticisms of him), defending stans so adamantly in the face of antis, and posting periodic alt tweets that help garner the illusion that he super cares about his fans; but, that cheating response video was the major red flag, for me.

3) Cheating & lying: as is likely no surprise to y’all, I think Dream cheated lmao. At first, I was ecstatic that he had actually made a detailed response video and put out a report with the help of an actual professional, but as I read up on his supposed statistical argument and dissected the parts of his argument that felt off to me, I realized maybe he had cheated. Talking to some STEM major friends of mine, who weren’t into MCYT but had obviously heard about the whole debacle because they like Twitter and Minecraft, kinda put the nail in the coffin for me. I’m not nearly smart enough or have a good enough memory to detail exactly why I think he cheated on this blog, right now, in April, but essentially: his main argument relied upon claiming mod bias, instead of a sound mathematical or statistical argument; there’s no way of proving that the world files he provided to the mods and in the open source weren’t altered; the statistical problems he points out (i.e., stopping effect) don’t actually skew the original mods’ model nearly as much as his supposed PhD guy would say; and the odds he comes up with might not be nearly as impossible as 1 in 7 trillion, but they still come up to around 1 in 100 million, which is still fucking ridiculous, considering that there are only, like, 120 million people in the world who play Minecraft.  Not impossible, but laughable that he expects people to believe that. But... I guess they did, lmao. The thing that peeved me the most about the whole thing was the adamant lying lmao. When you look at the situation from the perspective of “dream cheated,” you realize just how fucked up all his Twitter responses, his adamance in streams and that video, and the general mood among his friends is... idk man, it’s just highly fucked.

4) Relationship with stans: look, there are significant numbers of  his fans that take part in Twitter cancelling vendettas, who spread around information about other CCs and their fellow fans that is false and meant to villify them, etc., and he never fucking says anything. It really, really bothers me. There are too many instances to enumerate, but a few that have caught my eye were when Dream stans would attack Techno, prior to their battle and when a Native American woman politely explained why he shouldn’t use Native music, he responded and said he wouldn’t, but tons of stans continued to attack her in her replies for “being so harsh/mean.” Like, he knows that just one word from him will make his fandom follow his beck and call. All it would’ve taken was one fucking word. There are so many fucking people that have been harrassed off of social media platforms because of the hivemind that is dttwt, for christ’s sake.

5) Reddit posts: All of the above were reasons for me to mildly dislike the guy prior to the Reddit posts, but they weren’t really enough to make me stop posting about c!Dream or reblogging fanart or reading DNF fics or watching Manhunts. I kinda just clowned on the guy, answered the occasional ask about the cheating thing or something related, and left it at that. The Reddit posts not only pissed me off for their content, but for the lying, as well. Do you think I fucking cared about him cheating at speedrunning Minecraft, of all games? Fuck no. What I cared about was the adamant lying that went into the whole debacle. Kinda the same with the Reddit posts. I’m one to usually forgive creators who acknowledge past errors, obviously. It is creators who try to brush stuff off, or even worse, create an elaborate lie to cover up allegations, that put me off a fuck ton. This is the reason I could never be comfortable with watching Pewdipie after I realized all the shit he had brushed off, and it’s now the reason I can’t go back to watching Dream. There is so much evidence that points to guilt, including but not limited to: his first move when the slideshow dropped (before posting to Twitter) being deleting as many old Discord messages as he could, the contradiction between him at first denying the account was his at all then changing the story to say he shared it with a friend, the wording and phrasing in the political posts being almost identical to the non-political posts that were clearly him (i.e., the one that explains his demographics perfectly), and the timing of the political posts (some of them being posted mere minutes after posts that were verifiably him, like the picture of Patches to the cats subreddit). People can claim that he’s likely changed, and what this it matter, as long as politics don’t affect his work now, but I can’t believe this fundamental misunderstanding of why bigotry in entertainment matters. I’ve always had a problem with the adoration this fandom has for cishet white men, and the constant criticism of non-cishet, non-white, non-men, but this really feels like the final slap in the fucking face. It’s like everyone truly believes that it doesn’t matter, that his beliefs couldn’t have possibly affected the way he’s treated fellow CCs in his circles or any of the number of people that depend upon Dream, directly and indirectly, for employment/CC clout. It’s like everyone truly believes that political ideology has no effect on the way we perceive, treat, and behave around other people in literally any field, not just politics. I, just... Christ. I don’t really wanna unpack my emotions about this whole thing right now, so I won’t. I’ll just say: I dislike Trump supporters and ex-Trump supporters alike, I dislike conservatives who claim they’re centrists (every fucking guy my age does this, it’s infuriating and makes me want to bash my head into the nearest wall), I dislike people who levy their fans against criticism - even when it’s righteous - and I dislike people who lie about their past actions; Dream fits all those categories, so I dislike him.
