okay I watched the movie and read like 2 fanfics so far on ao3. but what's worse is that this happened while I was on my periods and I was going feral and I think I imprinted on Arthur and Eames??? ? but mostly Arthur for some reason cuz I had this weird dream of the actor before watching the film. like I have only seen him once in this random movie as background noise while I was on holidays but I still managed to dream abt him and it's terrifying.

Hi All,

I’m the one looking for a fic this time. It should have been easy to find because there are a few very specific and particular references that should have narrowed my search but, alas, I cannot locate it.

It starts off with A and E drunk and stumbling into a hotel room, it’s funny and light, Eames rips his jacket pocket on the door knob, Arthur finds it hilarious, Eames does a chaotic strip tease then zerberts Arthur’s tummy. (The word ZERBERT is used and that should have led me directly to this fic!)

Then they travel together a bit. There’s the Christ statue in Rio and a sunset (I think). Eames mentions another enormous statue of Jesus called Christ of the Cabbages or something along those lines. The whole premise of the fic, as I recall, is how easily and beautifully they “fell into bed together” and the bit of angst comes when Arthur feels like getting back to dreamshare when maybe Eames was hoping for more down time together.

I feel like it could be related to the fic where Eames loves sugary breakfast cereals, cartoons and drawing elaborate detailed illustrations and that ease and sweetness surprises Arthur. I can sometimes confuse two fics in my head or remember one fic as two different ones.

Anyone know these?

You're telling me Arthur and Eames aren't even the MAIN CHARACTERS? I had no idea Leonardo DiCaprio was in this movie, let alone the goddamn protagonist. I thought it was a full two hours of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy staring soulfully into each other's eyes as they tried to figure out what was and was not real, but these motherfuckers barely have five minutes of screen-time together in the whole film?? In 2010, X-Men (Movieverse) was used as a catch-all tag for all X-Men movies. It was replaced with the tag X-Men (Movies) in 2011-2012, and then brought back to the Movies category list again in 2013. I’ve decided to use X-Men (Movies)’s 2011-2012 data for X-Men (Movieverse) since they’re tags for the same purpose and so X-Men (Movieverse)‘s 2010 data would be reflected in the bar chart.

The X-Men (Movies) tag dropped down to half its number of fanworks in 2013 after  X-Men (Movieverse) was brought back. It still remained in the Movies category until 2015, after which it was removed & replaced with X-Men (Original Timeline Movies) instead.

If you don't see a movie franchise on the chart, it may be because the franchise only has a multicategory tag and no Movies category only tag. (E.g. Thor (Movies), HP, variations of Star Trek)

Fandom tags that are no longer in the Movies category tag as of posting this are left out of the bar chart race. These tags are usually either miscategorized or already have other tags referring to the same fandom.

Have been rereading some of my favorite old wangxian fics and its actually fucking insane the extent to which the wangxian writers of this beautiful fandom INVENTED chemistry. I think part of the reason why fandom doesn't last like it used to is because it's much harder for new people to join. Large chunks of fandom activity are in invite-only discord servers now. Engagement with fic and art has dried up A LOT compared to how it used to be, so unless you post during the initial fandom boom, it's much more likely to be overlooked. People will talk about their favorite works where the creators can't see/engage with it, which can be super discouraging. People will treat everything like tiktok and only leave likes/kudos, and can't seem to find anything on their own without an algorithm. There's not really much fandom culture or community anymore. So why WOULD new people even want to join, when the barriers are so much higher?
