How did YOU get into 911ls rachel? 👀
if you could write one episode of season 5, what would it include? (back atcha)
what is your favorite cuisine and one food in that cuisine you hate; and what is your LEAST favorite cuisine and one food in that cuisine you LOVE
what's your favorite pastime/hobby outside of fandom? (back atcha)
what is your favorite season 👀 is it... winter... *shot*
more photos of cats please! 🥰
How did YOU get into 911ls rachel? 👀
okay so i started with OG 911, i watched from the very beginning when season one aired until season 5 and just became uninteresting (season 5 was... bad...) but rewatched spring 2023 because my sister wanted to watch it. and enjoyed it much more that time around. and then over the summer i was sick and couldnt leave my house for a week so i decided to watch lone star AND MY LIFE WAS FOREVER ALTERED. (i realize im a very late fan pls forgive me)
i was hesitant to watch lone star because some people in the OG 911 fandom are very mean towards this show and it's fans. (i've distanced myself from those people. i adore this show and have met the loveliest people on here because of this show.)
if you could write one episode of season 5, what would it include?
okay this is gonna be all over the place. marjan has a comphet realization and does some self discovery and we get some sapphic rep from her. not saying they have to make her have a girlfriend, but just some realization and being an openly queer, muslim, female firefighter in texas would be EVERYTHING to me.
nancy backstory. i've written a little about my thoughts on her backstory and want to write more. but i say she comes from a rich, influential family, but they're distant to her and put alot of pressure on her growing up and her sister is the only one she stays in contact with.
for tarlos. let them fuck nasty. (okay i realize we can't have that on network television).
realistics. carlos gets injured on the job or while trying to solve gabriel's murder and we get him in a coma in a hospital bed and tk is anxious and crying by his bedside (WE DESERVE IT. CARLOS HAS BEEN IN THAT SPOT TWICE. IT'S TK'S TURN)
what is your favorite cuisine and one food in that cuisine you hate; and what is your LEAST favorite cuisine and one food in that cuisine you LOVE
okay, so fair warning. white woman, who grew up in a small town, and still lives in that small town. and my mom was a terrible cook. im slowly trying to immerse myself in foods from other cultures now that im an adult. but there is not an option for restaurants of anything other than americanized chinese and theres no ethnic grocery options here either, so i try my best. and i feel like finding recipes is so hard. i never know what to look for as a beginner.
i really don't know if this counts as a cuisine, but my aunt always cooked Pennsylvania Dutch foods (which is kind of a derivative of german so that i guess?) but my least favorite of that would be scrapple or pickled beet eggs. both are 🤢
since that probably doesn't count, italian. i love chicken/eggplant parm or lemon risotto (im probably offending so many italians rn)
i can't say i have a least favorite cuisine? i'll say the one i've least delved into. i hope this doesn't upset you, but .... indian ... I KNOW IM SORRY. I REALLY WANT TO TRY MORE THO I NEED TO FIND SOME BEGINNER RECIPES TO TRY AND HOPE I CAN FIND THE INGREDIENTS HERE. but i do loveeeee chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. like the most basic answer. im so so sorry tessa. :(
what's your favorite pastime/hobby outside of fandom?
i love music and everything about it. i go with my sister to live events quite a bit. we love concerts but also going to sporting events. mostly football and baseball!
what is your favorite season 👀 is it... winter... *shot*
hahahah. fall! i miss real fall, like when i was younger. now it just goes from being super hot to cold. not much fall anymore. :( as much as i hate living in a rural area, its beautiful here in the fall <3
more photos of cats please! 🥰
okay it’s mostly pepper because she’s attached at my hip and puffy is more independent lol

Aisha, A 27 year old girl from Kolkata with big aspirations who is new to Mumbai. Despite being the new girl in the city she was indeed a fearless woman, quashing all societal norms. Aisha was calm, composed and mature she has her goals and aims set in life which is quite opposite of Sid as shown in the movie. Aisha liked independence, The independence of having your own home, cooking your own meal, exploring a new city all alone soaking everything in her deep striking eyes but she didn't forget her roots Aisha liked harmony for her party was spending a good time and having a cup of tea, She even had the strength to reject her boss's proposal for jazz night and sticking to her Indian classics. As a kid it fascinated me how could a person want to be like that and not sid he is so fun! Yes sure being sid is very fun but as I am getting older I am finally getting What Aisha was trying to say, Being Alone gives you the joy of independence and freedom but not always Mumbai is a fast paced and someway or another you will feel lonely, sid was what connected Aisha to Mumbai, he was what made Aisha fall in love with Mumbai and her home even more. Sid made her experience her first time rain in Mumbai. Aisha taught him how to set an aim in his life and how to achieve it, how to not follow societal norms and do what he loves. Aisha being so independent she still needed sid in somewhat way in her life and sid needed her the same way. People no matter how different they are still need each other, aakhir kar din beet jaane ke baad koi ek toh balcony mei sath baithke chai peene wala chahiye hota hai, Chahe ya toh vo khud tum aur tumhare khyal ho ya phir koi tumhe khayalo mei rakhne wala ho. Now that I am older I find this fascinating.

well now i wanna know about nyoka and verin✅🛑🎁📢🔮🗺️
DANKE <3
✅Biggest turn ons? Something they'll always be into?
verin: making partner scream/be extremely vocal, edging/orgasm denial (for both himself and his partner), overstimulation (for both himself and his partner), and he’s got a bit of a breeding kink 👀
nyoka: monsterfucking (obviously), dirty talk (even if it somewhat embarrasses them), being a pillow princess (tho removed from the main wip they would definitely get into being more Active during sex, they’re just never gonna say no to verin holding them down and giving them what they need)
both: size kink (it’s one of the main things that is a big deal in this wip bc verin goes from 6feet to like 8-9 feet with 4 arms and a MONSTER cock and they’re both very into that)
🛑Biggest turn offs? What are their hard-nos?
verin: being tied down (though he doesn’t mind doing light bondage to his partner he just doesn’t like being restrained it triggers him)
nyoka: penetrating (or topping), knife/blood play
🎁They get a suggestive gift from a partner. What's inside?
verin: if nyoka ever bought him a present he’d be over the moon; even more so if it was a cock ring so he can test his limits of how long he can hold out 💛
nyoka: anal beads would make them beet red but they would absolutely give it a go
📢How private are they about their sex life and sexual preferences?
verin: as a immortal god, verin has Very Little qualms about being open about his sex life. if it exists, he’s probably done it—not that he’s a god of pleasure per se but he’s gotten around. very experienced lol.
nyoka: Is Literally A Virgin and all they’ve ever experienced about sex before verin was just it’s demonizaiton bc if they became a non-virgin they can’t be sacrificed to the gods! sex has always been kind of a mystical thing to them, but they don’t really know what they’re into,,, their personality makes them blunt even if they’re shy about things so while i don’t think they’re open on purpose if you asked they MAY answer.
🔮Are there any unique or fantastical aspects of sexuality in the world of your WIP that they engage in? Non-human characteristics, magic?
well main thing is verin’s god form—so, he has blue skin, 6 eyes, 4 arms, and his cock is like. bad dragon levels of ridiculously big. he can technically shift his form At Will, and i think he CAN split his cock into two (so they’re just slightly less girthy than when he has just one but still decently sized) so there’s a LOT of fun to be had with him. strength, stamina, and cum are all endless for him, so he only really takes a break for nyoka’s sake cuz he could Keep Going. though i’m sure there will be times in the future where he gently and lovingly feeds them more stamina via magic so they can keep going, but nyo absolutely passes out for like 3 days after and he apologizes so profusely even if they’re like, totally fine with it and completely blissed out lmao.
🗺️Does their culture have a strong impact on their sexuality? Which parts?
in the religious sects of their society they’re very puritan and modest/chaste, despite the actual world itself (in my mind) kind of being more adjacent to indian/latin american/island vibes. people don’t necessarily dress modestly but preserving the chastity (especially of sacrifices) is a Big Fucking Deal and sex before marriage isn’t really a THING. obviously red light districts exist but they’re seen sort of as lesser by the main religion even though they all in said red light do fervently worship the host of gods so it’s a bit mismatched every. nyoka doesn’t actually have many of these qualms though because technically they’re a “foreigner” — their parents were merchants and they traveled to this city when they were young, but unfortunately their parents contracted a disease and they passed. nyoka was then taken in by the religious sect as an orphan to be sacrifices BUT they’ve always been super discriminatory towards them. they actually don’t know much about their own culture like where they’re from originally but they know they Deffo don’t jive with the vibes here.

"Sakal Ban Phool Rahi Sarson" | Sara Raza | Sufi Song | Amir Khusro | Virsa Heritage Revived
From the youtube channel Gaana Shaane.
The beautiful and talented Sara Raza Khan is Pakistani singer.
Amir Khusrau (1253-1325) was major Indian Muslim mystic, poet and musician who lived in Delhi and wrote mostly in Persian, but also in Hindavi, the common language of the northern and central regions of the Indian Subcontinent in that period.
I found on the net the following transliteration and translation of this poem (which must be in Hindavi):
Sakal Bun
Sakal bun (or Saghan bhun) phool rahi sarson, Sakal bun phool rahi..... Umbva phutay, tesu phulay, koyal bolay daar daar, Aur gori karat singaar, Malaniyan gadhwa lay aayin karson, Sakal bun phool rahi..... Tarah tarah kay phool lagaaye, Lay gadhwa haathan mein aaye. Nijamudin kay darwazay par, Aawan keh gaye aashaq rung, Aur beet gaye barson. Sakal bun phool rahi sarson. Translation- The yellow mustard is blooming in every field, Mango buds are clicking open, other flowers too; The koyal chirps from branch to branch, And the maiden tries her make-up, The gardener-girls have brought bouquets. Colourful flowers of all kinds, In hands everyone’s bringing; But Aashiq-rung (the lover), who had promised to come To Nizamuddin’s house in spring, Hasn’t turned up - its been years. The yellow mustard is blooming in every field.
Source: https://allpoetry.com/Sakal-Bun
The Nizamudin of the poem is Hazrat Nizamudin Auliya (1238-1325), one of the greatest Sufi saints in the Indian Subcontinent and Khusrau’s spiritual master.

Henna: a hair-repair product?
What is Henna?
Henna is a little tree or shrub, specifically. Like beets or blueberries, the leaves contain a color that stains the skin. The dye molecule in henna is tiny enough to pass through multiple layers of skin. Because of this, the stains remain for a few weeks as opposed to a day for a blueberry stain to fade.
Could henna be your savior?
From the ancient Egyptians and Romans to countless "contemporary" Indians, humanity has relied on this natural hair dyeing technique from the dawn of time. The most obvious advantage of using henna to color your hair is that you avoid the hazards of harmful chemicals. NMP Udhyog, the most recognized Henna powder supplier in India, provides 100% natural henna combined with only the best and freshest henna powder. Natural henna is a beautiful, harmless type of body art with a long history in many cultures throughout the world.
Due to the presence of tannins (a kind of plant chemical) in henna, if used in its natural form, it can make your hair shinier, thicker, silkier, and stronger.
It even serves as a natural conditioner because of its capacity to lock in moisture and nutrients while bolstering your hair's protective layer. You are therefore protected from the heat, the harmful UV rays of the sun, and pollution.
FAQ
What is the advantage of Henna?
Chemicals found in henna may be used to treat various illnesses. Also, there is some evidence to suggest that henna may prevent or minimize spasms, diminish inflammation, and lessen discomfort.
How can you tell if henna is safe?
Something about the smell of fresh henna tells you it's healthy and safe. NMP Udhyog, a henna powder manufacturer in India offers an earthy aroma with a hint of essential oils. If you smell any underlying chemical or industrial odor, it is possible that there is anything else in the recipe that is harmful to your skin.
Is Henna good for hair growth?
Henna's natural qualities encourage hair growth. The powder may be used to make an essential oil that nourishes and promotes growth.
Overall,
Henna is the ideal for your hair and may truly bring out your beauty. Get the finest for your hair by nourishing it with NMP Udhyog, India's most famous manufacturer of henna powder.

<3 hi! Good morning!
I am so intrigued by these pickled mangoes! Are there other fruits that you pickle? My family eats a lot of pickled beets and saurekraut and just like. regular pickled cucumbers. but i don't think we pickle anything else.
I hope you're able to make chili sometime- there are so many different versions and I bet you could adjust spices to be more similar to Indian food. Everyone in my family has a different preference so if we're having chili at a family gathering we usually make several kinds. I usually just cook for myself though, so I will be eating chili all week lol.
It can be really difficult to balance taking chances and making responsible choices. I definitely tend toward not taking chances because it's easier.
You write though! That's still an art! I really struggle with coming up with ideas for conceptual art or even just like. making up poses for characters. I don't have any idea how people should be posed. like what's a natural way to stand or sit? or expressive? idk. I don't know how anyone does that. I usually find stock photos if I'm drawing characters. And I always use a reference for portraits. I think I mentioned I paint flowers but i also use references for those.
and now i'm off to sleep <3 hope you have a lovely day
<3 gold(ish)
hey!! <333
hope you had a good night!
i hadn't realized how tired and worn out I'd been all week, but the moment i clocked out of work on Friday i conked out and did not wake up until like. 4pm today ahsgdjs so that's been fun! i think i really need to get some supplements or sth because my energy levels are tanking beyond what's manageable and it sucks especially because i wanna write some stuff and have some me-time but bc i work full time I just end up. like. falling asleep. sorry I'm ranting it's just. ANNOYING OUGH. i had this stupid fatigue flare up kinda thing last year and it sucked SO BAD AND SHGDHDJDKD
ANYWAY
okay so. actually! the pickle looks a lot like chili!
Tumblr media
ignore the stupid label, but yeah. it's mostly spices and oil. the dehydrated mangoes marinate in it for like a month or so before the whole thing starts tasting amazing! I'm usually impatient so i eat it right away if we make it at home! this one's store bought tho. it really is The Best Pickle In The World and you can quote me on that <3
what are your plans for the weekend? <33 hope you're having a good one!

Chef’s Table restaurant review - Edison NJ
Chef's Table Indian/Pan Asian Restaurant Edison, NJ https://www.ourchefstable.com/
We walked into Chef's Table in Edison on a Saturday evening in October 2022 at 7PM with no dinner reservations. Frankly, with the profusion of excellent Indian cuisine in north Edison, NJ, my expectations were set fairly low. Also, based on the online reviews, I was prepared for spotty service and uneven food, given the normal Saturday night rush.
However, my personal takeaway: Everything was excellent and we'll definitely be going back hoping for a similar experience! Here are the details:
The restaurant was busy but we were seated promptly. Interior atmosphere was warm and inviting, although there was a definite draft from the door every time it was opened (perhaps the vestibule needs to be heated?). (No trace remained of the brick-oven pizzeria that used to occupy this building.)
Tumblr media
Our server brought out chutneys (mint and tamarind), and tiny little cracker-shaped "papadum". I wasn't a fan of the crackers, tbh. They had neither the flavor or the texture of traditional lentil-based papad, but my partner did enjoy them. *shrug* from me. I liked both chutneys, however. (I later learned that the traditional papadum were on the menu and will explicitly order them next time.)
For appetizers, we ordered Cauliflower in Sweet chili sauce (Chilli Garlic Gobhi Dry), Tandoori Chicken thighs (Nawabi Tandoori Murgh), and Samosas. Both the chicken and cauliflower came out quickly, but the samosas required a bit of a wait.
Tumblr media
The cauliflower was coated in a delightfully crispy coating in a sticky sweet sauce with really good flavor all around. Good balance of acid and sweet, with a hint of chili. They could have used a pinch of additional salt and heat, but that might just be personal preference. That didn’t stop us from scraping the dish clean after the cauliflower was gone.
Tumblr media
The tandoori chicken was a double portion of the chicken thigh and the first wing section (drumettes) both on the bone. They were cooked well, and the traditional yogurt coating was flavorful. Meat was falling off the bone but still had a good resilience to it.
Tumblr media
Despite the wait for the three samosas, we were really happy with what we eventually received. The Samosa pastry and filling were definitely house-made, not frozen. Filling was finely ground, with fresh herbs and peas mixed into the potato mash, and the pastry was light and tender.
Tumblr media
After our apps were cleared, we received a tray of fresh veggies with plastic wrap still on it. While we appreciated the COVID precautions with uncooked food that was obviously prepared and stored in a chiller, the plastic wrap served at the table was a little unclassy for my taste. Despite the fact that this was obviously prepared well in advance (the beets had stained the red onion, for example) everything still tasted fresh and crispy, so only a minor complaint here, and a reasonable accommodation to keep the food moving along with limited staff.
As this was our first time visiting, Mrs. Heat and I ordered four entreés, with full intent to take quite a bit home and share with the Embers.
Tumblr media
Vegetable Manchurian - good texture and flavor, generous portion. Really liked the texture of the "veggie balls", and the sauce was really deep and intense.
Tumblr media
Butter chicken - very tender meat with a mild sauce, could have used a bit more protein, as you may be able to tell from the photo. Chicken is the least expensive protein commercially available today – there's no excuse to skimp on this. Other than that, a good dish overall. Would order again, especially with more chicken!
Tumblr media
Stuffed paneer (Khumani Bhare Kofte) - exactly as described and very tasty. This was a new dish for us, and we were surprised that there was literally dried fruits and plums stuffed inside the paneer. No idea how they did that, but it made for an extremely flavorful bite. A winner indeed!
Tumblr media
Lamb (Gosht Rismisa) - falling apart boneless meat. Good gravy - one of the dishes you want to soak up in naan or rice well after the protein was gone. And the protein in this dish was plentiful, in contrast to the scant butter chicken protein (and inexplicable, given their relative wholesale prices!)
We were so pleased with the meal that we stayed for dessert - ditching our plans to bug off to Mithaas and its panoply of indian desserts.
We saw other patrons order the Kulfi, served in a smoking ceramic bowl and couldn't help but order it, along with traditional Rasmalai.
Tumblr media
The Rasmalai had a delicious strong flavor, and was both creamy and  tasty. I literally licked the bowl - hopefully when no one was looking.
The Kulfi Falooda (served with noodles), although somewhat bland, was served in a unique ceramic vessel with smoking dry ice. Worth the experience, once.
As we were waiting for the check, we saw a number of other dishes served to other patrons that looked spectacular. Looking on their website, (https://www.ourchefstable.com/online-ordering/) I've identified possible items to order next time, based mainly on how dramatic they appear! :
Gol Gappe
Mini Veg Spring Rolls
Shrimp Tempura
Chadni Seekh
Great photos and presentations on the site, btw. You should look at this page even if you're going to eat so you know in advance what to expect.
The service was – while not exceptional – fairly typical of Indian restaurants not in Manhattan, and really quite good for post-COVID staffing challenges. Obviously, they're suffering from the same foodservice shortages that we're seeing industry-wide, but Chef's Table is handling it gracefully. Our server was cordial and helpful throughout, and responded from across the floor to eye contact and a smile. We saw additional servers and bussers as necessary, mostly to deliver food and take away dirties. Timing could have been tighter, but again, at primetime on a Saturday night, I was happy with how well they kept up with the rush. I would suggest at least one more main server and one more busser for the Friday/Saturday night 5-9 shift.
My summary here was that this was a very good experience for an Indian/PanAsian restaurant, and a standout even in North Edison, NJ. Several dishes were surprising, and all were at least "very good" in my opinion. My few tweaks could easily be incorporated by an attentive manager and head chef; I hope they take them to heart.
I'm excited to visit again, and may add Chef's Table into our regular Indian food rotation. Incidentally, almost none of the food made it home to the little Heatlings. We returned home with two small takeaway containers and very full belles. Next time, they'll have to come along. 🙂
Remember to check out my HiHeat blog on Tumblr for more Restaurant Reviews and home recipes.
Thanks for reading and Happy Eating!
