Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down the top 5 moments from my grandfather's funeral!
Number 5 - The length of the ceremony
I got into that building, and I've never been to a funeral before, so I was ready to be there for about an hour. The pastor got up, read about 2 or 3 bible verses and just kind of... walked away. Whole thing was about 5 minutes. It was so short that the funeral director hadn't even come back inside yet after preparing the hearse. After the ceremony he was supposed to formally call the pallbearers (me and my cousins) to the front. Instead my dad just had to do it, and we all got up, very confused.
Number 4 - The carrying of the casket
As my cousins and I grabbed the casket to carry it out, we quickly realized that the aisle of seats that had been set up, was incredibly narrow. On my side, I had about 3 inches of space between the casket and seats, so I just kind of started to squeeze by. At this point, the funeral director came back in, saw us struggling, told us to step out of the way. The casket was essentially on a gurney, so most of us stepped out of the building, while my cousin pushed the casket out from the back.
Number 3 - The loud music next door
Prior to the service, my mom and I went to the hotel to set up for the reception, where there was an extremely loud event going on in the next room. They said it was supposed to end at 2pm (around the time of the reception), but that it had been going all morning. I'm not sure what the actual event was, but they just had a lot of very loud music. When we arrived, the event was still ongoing, although the hotel had asked them to keep it down a bit. After making conversation for a bit, my dad finally stood up and gave everybody a chance to tell stories about my grandad. Just as he was about to speak, the music SWELLED and we had to ask the staff if they could get them to turn it down.
Number 2 - Grammy meeting her great-grandson
My cousin just had his first child, and this was the first time that he'd been able to see our grandmother since the baby was born. It was really sweet to see my 87 year old Grammy with her 8-month old great-grandson.
Honorable Mentions
Blue Hair - About 2 months ago, I dyed my hair bright blue. I thought that it might be seen as inappropriate, so before I flew to my parents, I decided to get a haircut. What I didn't know was that my parents had been prepping everybody for my hair, and it turned out my family had actually been really excited to see it, including my grandmother, who said she would have loved it since blue was grandad's school color. Also apparently one of my aunt's got mad at my mom because she thought my parents made me get it cut.
Divorce - My other aunt apparently was telling people her husband couldn't come because he had work. They have in fact been divorced for almost 3 years, and he has since remarried and has step-kids. My aunt did not tell anybody in our family that she would be lying about this to people who didn't know. My mom mentioned it to my dad's cousin, and is now worried my aunt will blame her for spilling the beans on the divorce.
Number 1 - The visit with Grammy after
Me and my cousin went to stay with Grammy after the reception to spend the night with her, and help around the house a bit. We successfully managed to change the password for her Peacock account so she can watch her soap operas, and after Grandad's death, she's finally confronting her mild hoarding problem and let us throw out 2 trash bags full of junk. She also revealed that after Trump was elected, she switched parties and now votes Democrat, which I was surprised at. Despite her long, rambling stories, and terrifying habit of refusing to use her walker, it was a nice trip... right until we were about to leave and she looked at my cousin's nose stud, and then asked me, "Do you think she's r******d?"

Life of Lea Volume 1 Chapter 2: An Odd Dimension
Everyone looked at the new surroundings as they were cold as there was a sign in the distance saying 'Welcome to Ice Region, Fairy Dimension'. Lea shivers as the cold temperature starts to get to her immediately.
“My family's cabin and lab are nearby, we can warm up there,” Sergean said as he put his cloak around Lea then summoned snow clothes from them with his magic.
They all nod and follow Sergean to his family's cabin west of where they were. Lea stayed quiet as she wondered why Sergean was calling her princess and then put his cloak on her.
“Maybe he’s trying to be gentlemen-like?” Lea thought to herself. Once they got to the cabin, Sergean walks up the stairs and onto the porch as he unlocked the front door.
“Nice cabin your family has,” Lea said as she looked at the woodwork of the porch as they came in.
“Thanks, my grandad is great at woodwork” Sergean replies as he let the others inside as he held the door open for them.
Everyone went inside as it started to snow outside. Lea looks around as if she wasn't used to being in a new dimension, magic being real or animals turning into humans.
“So, do you have family nearby, Sergean?” Mom asked as she looked around hoping his parents knew they were staying there.
“Yea… I have a sister in the next region” Sergean replied as he adjusted the collar of his shirt.
"Is it alright for me to use the kitchen to make lunch?" Mom asks him.
"Sure, that's fine" Sergean replies as he points in the direction of the kitchen.
She nods as she goes toward the kitchen, so she could see what they have for her to make for lunch and dinner.
“Oh, so who is older?” Dad asked curiously.
“I am” Sergean replied as he puts wood into the fireplace.
“Ah ok,” Dad said as he got comfy in his seat on one of the couches.
Alyssa and Cloud lay beside the couches on the side with blankets over them to relax. Vanessa, Snowball, and Rocky look at the pictures on the mantel over the fireplace. Lea and Sergean get up and set up the table for lunch after mom finished making lunch. Mom then put the food on the table when they finished.
"Ham sandwiches look good," Dad said as he praised Mom.
“Indeed” Lea replied as she agreed with her dad.
Alyssa and Cloud sat at the table first as they kept their blankets around them.
“Huh…first time I won’t be told to go away when it’s time to eat, it’s nice,” Cloud says slightly nervous as he grins.
“Fair point, so enjoy the food even more,” Mom said with a smile as she finally could hear what he thought about her cooking.
Lea stayed quiet as she ate her sandwiches as she was lost in her thoughts about what has happened today.
Sergean looks at her as he noticed her facial expression and thinks “What a day she must have had … well all of them anyways”.
After everyone finished eating, Lea walked outside for fresh air and went for a stroll. She was completely lost in thought as she got to the railroad tracks while also not wearing layered clothing. She sat on the tracks as the snow fell on her and she was completely zoned out.
“Rough day?” Sergean asks as he had followed her immediately.
“Yea the roughest so far this year” Lea replied as she was coming back to her senses.
Lea turned to look at Sergean as she had forgotten she was surrounded by snow.
“So why did you follow me?” Lea asked a bit curious.
“It’s your first time in this dimension so going on a stroll while not being properly dressed for snow was a dumbass choice” Sergean replied.
“Ah oh…fair point,” Lea says before she flinches slightly when she realizes how cold she was again.
“Mhm…” Sergean replies as he uses his magic to add another layer to her clothing before sitting beside her.
“Thanks for lending me your cloak and the warm clothes,” she says as she hands him his cloak.
He shakes his head as he lets her keep wearing his cloak.
“Keep it until we go back to the cabin,” he said.
“Ok…thank you,” she replied softly as she stood up.
“We should head back,” he says as he stands up before summoning an umbrella so they wouldn't drag any snow when they return.
She nods and follows him back to the cabin as she stays under the umbrella with him. He ruffles her brown hair in a joking matter as he gets the snow off of her head. She sighs as she shakes herself to make sure the snow comes off of her. When they finally got back Mimi was showing everyone to their rooms.
“Nighttime already…?” Lea says as they had only been gone for two hours but then again, she did zone out for half of it.
“The noon comes a bit faster in this dimension” Sergean implies as he noticed her confusion.
“Odd but ok” Lea replied as she turned to look at him as gave him back his coat.
Sergean shows her to a room at the end of the hallway.
“You will be staying in here,” he says as puts away his umbrella and coat.
She nods and goes into the room, she takes off her shoes and moves her stuff beside the bed. Sergean leaves and goes to his room as he was exhausted as well. Lea sighs as she goes to her bed she then immediately lies under the covers.
“What a day I’ve had…but is it my fault like Alyssa said it was?” Lea thought to herself.
Lea slowly fell asleep as she stayed under the blanket it was a long day for everyone. Cloud later came into her room as he wasn't used to sleeping alone as a human. She wakes up to the sound of the door as she hadn't adjusted to sleeping in a new location let alone a new dimension.
“Lea? Are you awake?” Cloud whispers as he goes over to her.
“Yea I’m awake…” she replies as she stretches a bit.
“I can’t sleep…this place doesn’t smell like home…” Cloud replies as he sits beside her on the bed.
“Well, there’s nothing that I can do about it…sorry,” Lea says with a yawn.
"Oh, can I sleep with you, please?" Cloud asks as he looks at her with puppy eyes.
“Sure…” Lea mutters as she is ready to go to sleep now.
Cloud curls up against her and closes his eyes as he gets comfy. She sighs and closes her eyes as she falls asleep and faces the wall. The next morning was brutal since it was snowing all night. Lea groans as she sits up in bed as Cloud nuzzles against her.
“Cloud time to get up,” Lea says as she turns to look at him.
Cloud shifts in the bed as he is super comfy under the sheets.
“Cloud… get up now,” Lea says a bit annoyed.
He sighs and stretches before getting up.
“Oh, good you're up, breakfast is ready,” Dad said as he stood in the doorway.
Lea nods as she fixes her bedhead in the mirror, then Cloud yawns and leans against her as he mumbles something.
“You heard him; Cloud let’s go,” Lea said as she stood up.
Cloud groaned as he stood up and followed her to the kitchen table but then the smell of bacon and eggs filled the room.
“Mm… smells good,” Cloud said as he still has a love for bacon as a human.
“Indeed, it does,” Lea said as she took her seat.
The others then join her at the table.
“So, was everyone comfortable in their bed last night?” Mimi asked as she tied her hair back before eating.
“Yes…” everyone said in a tired tone.
Lea yawns before eating her food.
“Close your mouth princess,” Sergean said as he crinkles his nose.
“Sure, if you quit calling me princess, Serg” Lea snapped at him.
He rolled his eyes and went back to eating his breakfast as she also went back to eating her breakfast annoyed. After they ate there was a knock at the front door.
“Now who could that be?” Mom said as she went to the front door but when she opened the door see a long blonde girl in a blue dress, black leggings, and a pink winter coat with a white scarf.
“Elizabeth, what are you doing here?” Sergean asked as he stood up.
“Lady Molly sent me; she said the fairies need help in the Water region” she explained.
“Who’s Lady Molly?” Lea asked curiously before putting a piece of bacon into her mouth.
“Lady Molly is the guardian of Water; she has an assistant named Holly” Sergean exclaims.
“Well let’s go see what they need help with,” Mimi said as she was ready to go.
“Alright let us get ready first,” Mom said as she had everyone get ready after finishing their breakfast.
Lea sighs as she gets ready, when she is done, she comes out in a black shirt, a thick yellow hoodie, and jeans with matching black boots.
“Well everyone is ready so let’s head over to the Water region,” Elizabeth said with a smile.
Everyone followed Elizabeth to the Water region.
Vanessa goes to Lea and whispers,” Doesn’t she look like Sailor Moon?”
“Yea she does but is she fourteen like Usagi?” Lea whispered back.
“So how long will it take us to get to the Water region?” Alyssa asked.
“In an hour or so” Elizabeth replied.
“Will there be any mermaids over there?” Snowball asked as her eyes lit up with excitement.
“There might be seaweed and fish drop off so maybe” Sergean sighed slightly.
“Not very fun with splashing sirens?” Lea jokes.
“Shut it princess” Sergean replies unamused by her joke.
“Mhm,” Lea says as she giggles lightly.
“We should’ve brought lunch with us,” Dad said as he didn't notice any lunch boxes.
“True” Mom replied as she felt slightly guilty.
“They’ll have food there,” Elizabeth said with a bright smile as she reassured them.
“Bright smile and appetite like Usagi” Vanessa whispered to Lea.
Lea giggled and nodded as they walked beside each other.
“So how old are you, Elizabeth?” Dad asked curiously.
“Fourteen and Sergean, my big brother is four years older” She replied.
“So, he’s eighteen… alright,” Dad said skeptically as he glanced at Lea, who was also eighteen.
Lea looks the other way awkwardly as her Dad looks at her. Sergean just rolled his eyes as he had not been too interested in anyone at the moment.
“Anyways we are almost at the Water region,” Elizabeth said to make things less tense.
“Alright,” Lea says as she stays beside Vanessa and Cloud.
Dad kept his guard as he was being an overprotective father slightly as he was all bark but no bite. As they continued to walk, they soon reached a wide crescent beach shore.
“Welcome to the Water region,” Elizabeth said with a bright smile as she posed in a way to get their eyes on this beautiful location before she unsummoned her winter clothes into just a blue dress and pink boots.

Thinking about the influential old people in my life a lot recently. All but 1 of great grandparents were alive at some point in my life. One of my great grandads died when I was really young.
Otherwise I've been aware when they passed. I've always had 6 greatgrandparents. I was never close with the set on my dad's paternal side (cause that side kinda sucks) and they died about 4 yrs ago and last year respectively. It was a whole mess but not the point.
On my dad's side I've only had a good 'grandparent' relationship with my great gran who passed about 6 years ago. Both of my dad's parents being flaky toddlers. Gran is the reason I know so much about tea paries and for my love of the secret garden. I regret growing apart in her later years. I miss her dearly but she was a problematic women to say the least.
On my mom's side I've always had an ok relationship with my grandparents but I mean my youngers aunts on both sides of the family were only 8 when I was born. My great meemee was a incredibly silly woman who I only got closer with with age. She was hilarious. She always made sure you knew what food was in the house and made sure to offer it a million times. I'm so glad that I was able to have a day with her right before she passed.
I have one living set of great grandparents who are 100 and 101. My great grandad only stopped driving this past year and has given me his car. He's my favorite bc he gave me permission to name drop him at work when I have old customers being assholes about political opinion, military stuff, or covid. He's a vaccinated Democrat ww2 pow that compared trump to hitler if that tells you anything.
I'm lucky knowing so much of my family.
As we approach the anniversary of my meemees death, and with me currently pissed at my paternal grandmother, I'm just thinking about them all a lot.
I'm not one for painting portraits but I think im going to make paintings to honor my meemee and great gran once semester finishes.

JJ Maybank imagine:
Passion and wild regret
Tumblr media
Summary: The pogues think you’re a bad influence on JJ.
I’ve been away for a couple of days so I hope this is ok! 💙
All feedbacks welcome as long as it’s not rude or mean ❤️
Warnings: angst, drug use (kind of, they aren’t taken I also do NOT condone drug use, unless it’s for medical reasons).
And yeah, let’s get into to it...
——————————————————————————
You were a bit of a party girl, a wildcard, some would say. ‘Some’ being everyone except for you, who thought you were completely casual.
You were on the beach, at another summer kegger, where, to be fair, you may have a had a bit too much to drink, which of course, normally leads to JJ watching over you like a hawk. You had just downed your 15th (?) beer of the night, and decided to join in on truth or dare with the tourons, with a few pogues and kooks scattered about in the circle. “Y/n, truth or dare?” A random touron asked you. “Easy, dare” you responded, a grin on your face. The touron smirked, clearly having his dare planned out. “I dare you to take this” he said while holding up a clear baggie which looked to have a couple pills in it. “What is it?” You questioned, if you were going to take something you wanted to know what it was. “Only Molly” he said with a sly smirk on his face, looking you in the eye, testing you. The circle went silent, watching for your reaction, and looking at the touron to see if he was serious. “Ok, give it over” you replied, not ever being one to back down from a challenge, maintaining eye contact with him the whole time.
By now, JJ had heard of what you had been dared to do, as well as the rest of the pogues, and they were running to you right now, to stop you from making one of the biggest mistakes of your life. JJ caught you just in time, and slapped the pill out of your hand. “Jesus Christ you really are pissed, come on” J said, grabbing your arm and pulling you up, away from the rest of the group and into the chateau. Laying you down on his bed and waiting for you to fall asleep before going back to the beach to meet back with the pogues at the kegger.
JJs POV:
“What she do over there then JJ” Kie questioned me because they didn’t hear the whole story before we rushed over. “Just y/n being y/n I guess” I chuckled. The rest of the pogues frowned at me, leaving me confused “what” I asked, looking around until one of them spoke up. All three pogues looked at eachother, before John B started speaking “we just- we don’t think she’s a good influence on you man, I mean look at this, look at earlier, she shouldn’t be your responsibility bro, you’re not her parent why should you have to be stressed all evening just waiting for her to do something that you need to rescue her from, why do you have to look after her because she’s so stupid that she can’t control herself, I mean, fuck! Bro she almost took a class A drug today, the only reason she didn’t is because you stopped her. What happens when you’re not there bro? Or what if she somehow convinced you to do it? To join her? I don’t want that for you, none of us do, ok J. She ain’t good for you, it’s about time you realise.” John B ranted. “Shut up, John B, you don’t know what your talking about” I argued back, biting my tongue, not being in the mood for John Bs interference. “I- I don’t know what I’m talking about? Huh J, l-” JB started before Interrupted “NO! Ok you don’t know what your talking about! You’re mackin’ a kook, who’s had everything handed to her her whole life, she’s got everything she’d ever want at her finger tips. She wants a holiday? She gets a holiday. She wants a burger? She gets a burger. She’s not had to deal with the same struggle I have, or y/n has ok, so don’t you dare, stand there and compare you, and your fucking life with your perfect girlfriend and her perfect money, to me, and my girlfriend, who have to take any happiness they can get, so if she wants to get drunk, she’ll get drunk. Of course there’s a limit, I’m not gonna allow her to take that mdma shit, alright, but who can blame her? With the shit that’s happened to her who blames her?” I finally let out, absolutely fuming at John B, how dare he say that shit about her. “SHES A BURDEN JJ, Y/Ns A BURDEN! SHE ACTS LIKE A CHILD! You don’t have to look after her, you deserve more then that” Kiara then burst out, getting involved aswell. I looked between the two of them outraged at how they were acting. “I KNOW OK! I know I look after her, but did you ever once think that maybe I enjoy it? That I like the idea of looking after her? Maybe that’s what I want to do, do you guys EVER consider other peoples emotions? Jesus Christ, fuck you guys” I turned around and stormed off towards the chateau, completely mad at them for what they said. How dare they.
Y/ns POV:
I woke up 5 minutes ago, and immediately started walking to where I knew the pogues would be. As my feet touched the beach I could hear them shouting, so I stopped and listened in, curious, and not wanting to interrupt their seemingly important conversation. “She’s a burden JJ” Who? You were drawn in, who on earth where they talking about like that? “Y/ns a burden” kiara continued.... oh shit. That was great, you guess. Your own friends consider you a burden to your boyfriend, how... joyous. “I know ok” you heard jj shout back. Oh fuck, even better, your own boyfriend agrees. You turned around and ran back to the chateau and into JJs room immediately, not wanting to hear the other harsh words they supposedly say when you’re not around. Taking off the necklace he gave you on the day he asked you out (which you haven’t taken off since) and started writing a note. When you were done, you left them both on his bed side table, side by side so he wouldn’t miss them, and sprinted back home.
How dare he, you thought. How dare he act as if he enjoyed going out with you, and wanted to be with you, when apparently, all this time he, and all his friends thought you were a burden, what even is this? Who says that about the ones they love? Yeah, you might not have had the best upbringing and yeah, you may be a bit (quite a lot) rough around the edges, but so’s JJ, and you don’t judge him or love him any less for that. You don’t see him as a burden. What is is about you? That just, makes people want to leave you behind, I mean should it even be surprising anymore? Your mom took off a while ago and your dad.... well, he stayed but let’s not get into that but, why did she leave you? Along with your brother, and nan and grandad, they all seemed to disappear, forgetting you ever existed. What was it about you. You got home and raced upstairs, trying your hardest not to wake your dad up, and went to bed, tears flowing down your face and thoughts running wild in your mind. Goddamn JJ, why couldn’t he just tell you he didn’t want to be with you anymore? Why’s it always your heart getting broken? But oh well, right? He’s probably happier now he doesn’t have to deal with you and your problems.
JJs POV:
I slammed the door to my room open and just, screamed. Why do they think they can say that to me? Who do they think they are?
I look over to my left, wanting to just crawl into bed with y/n and forget the whole thing, but there’s one problem...I can’t. She’s not there. FUCK. Where did she go? There’s no way she could’ve heard. I look down and see a very familiar necklace, and a note next to it. I pick up the necklace, running my fingers over it, eyebrows furrowing, why’d she take it off? She never takes it off? My heart starts to race as I imagine every possibility, has she been kidnapped? Taken away? Has DCS finally got her? What happened. I then decided to open the note, eyes focusing on her neat handwriting, almost mocking me in a way, the pretty, pristine handwriting and the beautiful words almost making me forget the main message, that were done.

Tears where streaming down my face, she left me, all because she over heard kie and the pogues sprouting absolute bullshit about our relationship. She actually left, oh fuck, why does it hurt so much. I’ll go after her tomorrow, we can sort it out, we’ll talk it through tomorrow when she’s not drunk and the pogues will have no influence. I walked out to the hammock and layed down, looking out to the stars, hoping that she’d listen to my explanation and praying that hopefully, she’ll take me back. And that the pogues didn’t ruin everything for us. I’ll wait until I can have her in my arms again, whether she takes me back or not, I’ll wait for her, in life, and until death.
——————————————————————————
How was it? I feel like it was really bad but idk?
All feed backs welcome as long as it’s not rude or mean❤️

another kevison fanfic none of you asked for (also on ao3):
[Thread] Who's the nicest celeb you've met in real life?
-
Kevin Pearson. Was an extra for one of his movies and couldn’t be any nicer. Chatted with us even though technically you weren’t supposed to. He joked around a lot and showed us pics of his family. Real top bloke.
-
I met this guy once on vacation in Italy. We were at a table next to him and my newborn was screaming bloody murder, mom was in the bathroom. Couldn’t quite calm my son and I was getting real embarrassed with the loud noise. Some of the waiters came over to their table to ask if they wanted to move but Kevin shut them down immediately. Actually got a bit cross that they even suggested it. His wife suggested to rock my baby on the side to make him stop and he did! She knows a few tricks having twins and stuff. Also shared that joy/misery thing of being first time parents. Anyway, they left first (they got there earlier) and we learned after that they paid for our meals too. Couldn’t believe it.
replied: Wow. That’s the so fucking nice of them.
replied: Yeah made my wife cry haha
-
I’ve heard only good things about him too! My mom lives in Philly and his brother was running for city council a few years back and he was there and took photos with all the Korean mamas including my own and my grandma! apparently he smells really expensive :P
-
Didn’t know that I was fully chatting up his wife at Starbucks until I saw a pic of them at the premiere for one of his movies. I’d be embarrassed by my god she was fantastic! 10/10 would’ve gone for it if I wasnt such a potato
replied: And wasn’t married.
replied: That too

My daughter was an extra on one of his movies and says he’s the nicest guy and “such a dad” lol! And her dad’s a real “dad” dad so for her to say that about a famous actor is funny
-
I used to teach his kids in my kindergarten class. Daughter’s wicked smart. I can tell you all the mothers would have a fit every time he’d come by to pick them up and if it’s not his wife or them together, it’s him. Very hands on. I’d say that counts for nice.
-
Rocked out to a Lady Gaga show with him and his wife in Vegas. His wife and I are practically best friends now! We’re on first name basis ;)
replied: Sounds fun! What were they there for if you don’t mind me asking? Coz isn’t he like sober now?
replied to a reply: I think it was for a niece’s birthday or something? Couldn’t remember, was pretty wild night :P And I didn’t see any drinks.Even his wife wasn’t drinking I think? They were literally there to enjoy Gaga like the rest of us
-
I love hearing stories about him like this because it always looks like he’s such a pretentious pretty boy jerk especially back in the day
replied: Getting your life sorted can change a man
replied to a reply: Yeah he’s pretty mellowed out since getting sober. He’s had that DUI and rehab stint but now he’s a real family man and seems to love his wife very much. Good for him.
-
Doesn’t he remind you of George Clooney? Got married late and had boy girl twins and is loving life!
replied: True!!
-
Not sure if everybody knows but his wife Madison is pretty big in the interior design space especially coz she like pretty much runs their fam construction business. I follow her on Insta and I know everyone has a crush on Kevin but I’d pick her over him any day!
replied: OMG YES SAME! She puts together these amazing DIY palettes and I’m obsessed! I’d also pick her over him any day even just to pick her brain
replied to a reply: She also recommends the best books!!!
-
My mom’s in the planning side of construction and met his wife in West Chester. She did a presentation and afterwards her and my mom shared parenting tips like they’re in some mom club. Apparently she was the sweetest and her babies are adorable and also Kevin calls a lot lol
-
Met him at the airport, wife’s a huge fan of the manny so sucked my gut to ask for a pic. When he found out it’s for the missus, he recorded a special vid saying his iconic line. Missus was over the moon. Real good fella
replied: MANNY SAY WHAAATTTTT
replied: That’s so nice
replied: He did for my mom as well! All the moms love him!
-
Kevin Pearson helped re-build my grandparents’ burned down convenience store. Couldn’t thank him enough even if I tried
replied: Wow, that’s real generous. How are the grandparents?
replied to a reply: Thanks! They’re over the moon. They have a house near the area but gran said he’d come by with his kids from time to time. Even if gran didn’t want to, they always insisted to pay for whatever the kids wanted.
-
Delivered the cake for his uncle (grandpa’s?) wedding and he gave a seriously generous tip. Oh and his wife packed me pigs in the blanket.
replied: Pigs in the blanket?! What in the middle school
replied: Apparently it was the uncle/grandad’s favorite or something and they double ordered. But who cares free food!
replied to a reply: Did it come with ketchup?
replied to a reply: Hot, wrapped in foil and handful of ketchup packets. I felt like one of the kids
-
Not him but his brother who’s like a big shot in politics right now. Real top guy and had the best laugh
-
This doesn’t sound real but I’ve bumped into him literally five times over the past year he’ll probably think I’m some stalker. Rarely saw him without his family and once his kid threw a ball at me. He apologised but c’mon you either throw a ball or bounce it no big deal. Besides, that kid has David Beckham’s kids manners. Real like English folk polite it’s insane
replied: That’s always nice to hear that celebrity kids aren’t spoiled brats. We know a few good of them are
replied to a reply: Celebrity kids are different from kid celebrities though
replied to a reply: Didn’t say they were the same? Just saying that for a kid of someone so rich and famous you’d think they’d be a bit more spoiled but they weren’t at all and was beyond respectful and that’s a testament to the parents.
replied to a reply: Agree. I’ve met this particular celebrity’s kids and mind you they’re teens now but god they were just awful and pretentious. Even more than their famous parent which is saying something
-
Not him but I did meet that actress that was so embarrassingly flirty around him during the press conference of hat film he did a few years back. She’s a real bitch and so fake and I’m so glad she’s been dropped from the sequel
replied: Oh god yeah I remember her. She was so obnoxious laughing at everything he said like stfu it’s not that funny!!!! The secondhand embarrassment watching her and him being all polite about it *chills*
replied: She’s the worst. No talent
replied to a reply: I was an extra for some scenes in that movie and she was WAY worse and such a diva for someone unknown. Kevin’s a real nice guy though and just let her be. He talks about his wife and kids a lot but she would not take a hint!
replied to a reply: That is just embarrassing
-
Alright story time. Was working as a barista at a cafe and it was one of those really shitty days. He came in, ordered and waited and was all nice and took some pics with fans. Anyway, like I said shitty day so I mixed up his coffee order and got him two lattes instead of cappuccinos. Mind you, it was a busy asf day as well and I was the only one making coffees. He comes over and tells me and I apologise but by this time my manager’s already all up on my ass for serving Kevin Pearson incorrectly. He kept apologising to him and berating me till Kevin himself stepped in and told the manager off. But like calmly and stuff like it’s no big deal and people make mistakes whatever and I kid you fucking not he apologised to me too and said I was doing a good job. He probably won’t know how much that meant to me after an already shitty as day but it did. I made sure to make him the best fucking cappuccinos
replied: I’ve met him in irl too and he is this!
-
I saw him sitting at a cafe with his daughter. Super nice. Asked him if I could get an autograph for my mom who’s a huge fan. He asked me some questions about her and wrote a really nice autograph, for her. His daughter stuck one of her stickers on there too and my mom loved that even more. I told him where she works (at a grocers) and he went out of his way to shop there the next day and made a point to look for her and chat. Great, great dude
replied: That is so fucking cool man. And your mom must’ve been so happy!
replied to a reply: She was over the moon! She loves his wife too! Apparently she was even chattier than Kevin haha
-
Met him at the airport. I was an employee and he had some TSA questions. Genuinely nice and friendly, chatted for about 15min. After he was set, we shook hands, he had his kids say thank you individually with a high five. Adorable. His wife was super nice and friendly too. Very good social interaction, would participate again

Walker 1.08
Tumblr media
This was a really solid epi!
There is no case this week, the episode focuses on a tornado going through Austin in more ways than one.
Starting with Liam. Poor, poor Liam; he was left traumatized by what happened in Mexico, he is not sleeping, he is scared for his life and that of his loved ones, he is ignoring his fiancé and living in his office, the man is an absolute mess and it all culminates in his fiancé breaking up with him and kicking him out because Liam lies to him by telling him he had an affair, and the reason he lied is because in his mind the best way to keep Bret safe is to push him away. I guess he has never seen a movie or tv show in his life cause if movie and tv have thought me something it’s that this never works, telling the truth is more effective because then the person you are trying to protect is aware that people might try to get close to them to hurt you and you could come up with a plan together to keep them safe. I wouldn’t be surprised if something ended up happening to Bret anyways; Liam also decides to tell Cordell about the investigation and that now they have evidence that he was right and Emily’s killer is still out there, I’m actually surprised that he told him so soon cause I thought this was gonna keep being a secret for some more episodes but I’m not complaining cause it is moving the story forward.
But Cordell and Liam are not the only Walkers having a hard time, it was a rough night for the family along Liam pushing for the love of his life to leave him and Cordell finding out his wife’s murderer is still free right after he had started to start thinking about dating and had even flirted and gotten the cute science teacher’s phone number, papa and mama Walker were also having a shit night. Because Bonham went to the feed store of the dude that Abeline had the affair with! So we get to meet the dude but nothing happens it’s just Bonham staring him down but of course Abeline isn’t happy about it so they got this whole marriage drama going on and at the end Bonham acknowledges they gotta talk about things but for that night he just wants to dance with her which is cutes-y, he’s trying to save his marriage which is great but that’s just a temporary patch for some very serious issues in your marriage sir. They gotta talk about things and in the process give me the details about this scandalous affair.
Stella is also having some relationship troubles because she found out who Trevor’s dad is! I wish it had been a little more dramatic but fuck it I’m just glad she now knows, I hope she tells her dad but these kids are fucking stupid so she probably won’t tell him even though she really should. So, that story also moves forward in this episode.
Out of all of them, August had the best night, he is oblivious to what’s happening in his family, the girl he liked no longer has a boyfriend, and he ended up looking like a hero because he got the help needed to save the grandad of the girl he likes. Good for you August, you did something smart in this episode that is progress for you.
Anyways, the Walkers weren’t the only ones dealing with trouble so were Trey and Micki.
They were with Cordell when they all got the tornado warning and accompanied him to the kids school where they found out about the girls grandpa so they head out to find the man. Micki has yet to tell Trey about Adriana not being her bio mom cause that gives it a whole new level of real that she ain’t ready to deal with cause she is really struggling with this and even ends up having a panic attack in the middle of the storm- which Cordell helped her through ❤.
But Trey ends up finding out at a very inconvenient moment in a very inconvenient way and he was understandably not happy at the fact that not only had Micki been keeping this huge, life changing secret for a week but that Cordell knew about it before him! And if that’s not enough, a wall fell on the poor man! They had stopped to help more people that had been hurt by the tornado and after saving a woman a wall crumbled down on top of him. Thankfully, he was okay and ended up with just a concussion and things between him and Micki were resolved after they talked and he let her know he wanted to be there not just for the good but also the bad and the messy, which made me happy on both counts cause I love their relationship and I love him. My heart jumped to my throat though when that he got hurt, I legit screamed.
I also screamed when a tree fell on Cordell, because oh yeah a tree fell on Cordell! Thankfully he too was okay and Micki was able to help him out.
For me the highlight and the best parts of the episode were Trevor, Micki and Walker working together, this shocks absolutely no one 😂 But y’all know I love them, I could honestly just watch an episode that’s the three of them only they don’t even have to be doing something exciting it could be just the three of them having a game night; which I wish we had actually gotten to see them have a little bit of a game night in this episode.
I also wish we had gotten to see more of Liam and Bret before the break up, I thought they were gonna be stuck in the elevator for the whole ep and imo that would have been better because we could have gotten some really emotional scenes between them before Liam decides to lie to him which would make that decision have more impact because we just haven’t seen enough of these two as a couple.
And I wish we had gotten to see the tornado actually destroy something but that was probably out of their budget.
Anyways, overall, this was a really, really good episode it moved....I think pretty much all the storylines even the side stories forward and it did it well, I really liked a lot of the music they used, them in the storm was pretty intense, it was captivating, it was entertaining, it was a solid hour of tv. And I’m very excited to see what happens next week, the promo looks really good!

ALSO
On the topic of cw shows now that it’s a good ways into the show I want to give my now opinion of Superman and Lois because I gave my opinion on the first episode and obviously a lot has changed so
Spoilers
Cw: Superman and Lois
I know I said I didn’t like Sarah. I changed my mind. I think she is adorable. I think she deserves the world. I think her character is well written and the actress is really talented so, I’m sorry I ever doubted you darling.
I love Tyler as Superman. I think he kills it. I love how happy and nerdy he is. I mean when his dad comes out it comes out hard. I mean (I watch this show with my family cause my dads a nerd as well and my just likes that I’m out of my room) when he did that little snap and point thing at the football game all three of us were like ‘yup that a dad’. He’s just so awkward as Clark it’s great. Also that stand down scene, with the solider and his glowing eyes, yes just yes. Now I’m not huge on Superman but the fact that they don’t sacrifice him being a happy and lovable and kind hero, that they keep him in character while also showing him in doubt and showing him angry and showing the hard parts is something I really love about this series.
Lois. I love Lois lane. I love that she was created as a love interest and through the years has become her own character. I love that she didn’t have to get powers, she didn’t to be a fighter or put on a mask to be seen as equal to Superman. I love that for years they have been married but it’s still always Lois Lane. I think this show really brings this out. I like that she makes mistakes, and she gets angry and loud and harsh, but she’s still seen as rational. I like that they let her be emotional it’s written as ‘this is a normal human response to this situation’ y’know. Idk that just seems rare for female characters. Also again the actress is amazing. And she’s an amazing mom (she has her moments) and her relationship with Jon is so cute
Speaking of Jon. I honest to god really love what they did with his character. I like how out of place he feels and how that comes out in anger. I love how they make him display emotion. I know that sounds weird but I don’t know how to describe it. I just think it’s real. Moving from a big city to a small town is really hard, if you just really aren’t made for small towns. Take from some one who lived and thrived in a big city then moved to a tiny town in Georgia. It’s hard. And they display that emotion and conflict really well. The actor is great. Obviously. The casting for this show was honestly really well done. I am kinda hoping however, that he does get powers. I want them to manifest in a different way than Jordan’s tho. I think the way their powers form depends on personality. For example Jordan’s powers seem to form as defense mechanisms which balance out his kinda shy attitude. Jon not having any friends and feeling lonely makes me really really really want Damian to make an appearance. I stand by the fact that their personalities would by incredibly entertaining side by side
Jordan. I could have killed him when he broke Jon’s hand. Like on the spot. I still like how they are doing his character. Is he my favorite? No. But it’s a really interesting dynamic against Jon. Also I think him and Sarah are adorable. I think the whole ‘they basically just flipped lives’ trope is actually kinda interesting. Putting them in each other’s shoes. I think Jordan’s trying to find himself, and that can be really distracting so while it bothers me that he doesn’t notice Jon really not fitting in, I can get why. Also losing yourself like Jon is doing can be isolating so what they are going through is pulling them in opposite directions. But I’m interested to see how he grows.
Okay now that I’ve gone over the characters let’s talk about random things
Lana is amazing. I love her character. I love the actress. She gives major mom vibes and I adore it. I love her friendship with Lois. I am however disappointed they didn’t turn her into superwoman but I digress
I don’t like the Morgan edge is clarks brother reveal. Point blank. I like the Superman being blackmailed into being bad, tho. I know the ‘good guy being forced to be bad’ this is a cliche but it’s one I like. I’m a sucker for the whole internal conflict thing. I like seeing (in tv shows and movies especially) how they portray that conflict. I still don’t like that Morgan edge was kryptonian. Did not like that plot twist.
You know what plot twist I did like. The freaking man of steel turn of events. Do know how long after the first episodes me and my dad sat there trying to figure if he was lex or was related to him? Trying to figure how he was a Luther? Like I honest to god did not see it coming that he was going to be Steel. Not one time was I like ‘you know I bet that’s John Henry irons’. Idk maybe I’m just stupid but they had me going. Now I knew he was going to end up a good guy. Me my mom and my dad are like he can’t pull of the bad guy. He just looks too nice. And he does. I mean the moment that man smiled I knew I could trust him with my life.
Okay jon and Jordan running over John Henry irons while screaming was fantastic. My favorite scene hands down.
Sarah singing? Yes absolutely. Amazing. Bonus points for Jordan making of her for being a theater kid.
Jon calling his grandad a coward? An icon. Truly. I was waiting for some one to say it. Also the absolute lengths he will go to defend his family is amazing
The bench dedicated to Martha kent was absolutely adorable.
Anytime one of them pulled out the device and Clark showed up in a millisecond all concerned was absolutely adorable.
I just love them. And I love this show. I know CW makes it habit of having really good first seasons and even some times second seasons then it all goes down hill quick, but I’m really really hoping that this shows stays like this.
OKAY
Things I want to happen later in the show then I’m going to shut up because I did not want this post to be this freaking long.
I want Bruce to buy out the daily planet because edge obviously will lose it.
Because of other shows we know that Clark and Bruce already know each other and are friends so, you know family cook out with the Wayne’s/Kent’s please
Like I said I really want Damian to be a regular in the show for Jons sake. He deserves a best friend who will kill for him.
Kon-el. I need Kon. Not only is it because he’s my favorite character but his personality is so different that I think it would be hilarious
I think it would also be an extremely interesting thing to have happen. To have Conner be introduced while Clark already has kids because that hasn’t happened
Lana to become superwoman. Thank you
That’s really it for now.

ANNA-JULIA “AJ” (JONES) JARLETT
IG bio/info: @/annajj9x_ | 20.1k followers| Athlete | hey peeps can you stop asking me to throw it back cuz the answer will always be no! K thx take it easy 🏳️‍🌈🌻🏒🐶
21 years old
From bath, England
Hockey player as her profession for the past three years
Her position is defense
Their team name is “rowdy alphas”...yeah some team names just didn’t make sense or they’re cringe for no reason at all
Was raised by her mom,(her mom was a teen mom & had her at 17) maternal grandmother, and her paternal aunt (dad’s younger sister, who’s more like a big sister to her at 28)
They’ve made her into the person she is, literally
Her grandmother has a bed and breakfast that they all live in
the house is Victorian style—almost as if they walked right out of charmed! Instead of a big pink house, think yellow AND purple. It was hideous but homey and charming on the inside
growing up in a house with multiple temporary strangers wasn’t odd to aj at all, in fact it felt like the norm. There was always someone around to socialize with so that was quite nice
Her father was a pro baseball player & passed away due to a automobile accident
she has his smile & freckles
aj was also involved in the accident at the age of 6 & miraculously survived with intense injuries
Has scars as a reminder
used to have night terrors because of the accident...it took awhile—years!!! for them to subside
they’re all vague memories now (but the pain is something she’ll always remember) but she preferred it that way
she’s named “Anna” after her mother’s old best friend/roommate and was supposed to be aj’s god mother but she went missing during their uni years
the name“Julia” came from her paternal grandmother who she gets her wide doe eyes from
her athleticism definitely came from her dad
Her mother luckily liked to document things so there’s a bunch of home videos of her dad in them & pictures/scrapbooks that her mom has for safe keeping
She’s more of a klutz, tiny, and wears huge prescription glasses
extremely close to the three most important ladies in her life, so she’s always been able to be open with them about anything!
when she first expressed her interest in liking both genders around 17-18 her paternal aunt was all smirks, “i knew Britney Spears was so your type, yeah?”
more like shakira but Brit was just as pretty
her mother was a “cry baby” so ofc she burst out into tears squeezing aj’s limbs and peppering her face with kisses. She didn’t view her child as anything different... as she shouldn’t & was glad that her daughter trusted them with this significant moment in her life and wanted to be as supportive as she could
got books, watched Ted talks and everything but knew she could come to the source even tho aj was still figuring it out herself
her grandma dipped her head at the new info sitting at the round kitchen table, “been there. had a few broads in my life after and during my marriage with your no good grandad. Thank goodness the bastard died before you even got to meet ‘em.” “Mum!”
what felt like the biggest weight on her chest was lifted. She knew they’d understand but a part of her had a little bit of doubt, she’s heard so many horror stories where those like her didn’t have the support she has and that made her extremely sad to think about
i see her as a person that has/had many friends in secondary. She’s always open to chat and her being on a few sports teams helped her out in her case
very competitive in anything that she does & will guarantee that she’ll beat you. (“ You wanna race to the car from here?”wins. “Who ever cleans the most dishes the fastest gets the last slice of pie.”) majority of the time she’s right but if she loses?? oh don’t let her lose to you, it’s a pity party for the rest of the time ur in her space. Such a sore loser omg
stays active, always working out + has a gym membership and makes sure she goes at least five times a week
she’s very strong, loves leg day & working on her core
she’s about 5’10
loves wearing “gf jeans” since they’re super comfy but doesn’t mind skinny Jeans with rips in the knees every now and then
trainers and chucks are her go-to sneakers
has no issue shopping in the men’s section ‘cause who’s gonna stop her? Nobody that’s who
owner of over a 100 graphic tees + vertical stripped shirts are also her favs, SWEATPANTS/joggers?! How many does she have? A lot. Snapbacks? Plenty. Will she wear them backwards? Obviously.
Physical touch is her love language. She’s comes from a family that has no issue showing their affection by touch. There is NO such thing as personal space and that still stands with aj when it comes to relationships, she sees no other way
It’s what she shows and what she wants in return, if you’re not touching her in some sort of way, then automatically she thinks there’s something wrong or that she did something
Is the jealous type. It has shown in relationships and ruined a relationship or two
Has cheated on a significant other out of pure jealousy & is not proud to admit that
Does have a wandering eye but feels now that she truly understands herself when it comes to relationships, she’ll never act on it again
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I get libra tendencies from her so that’s what I’m sticking with. She likes to keep the peace (unless she’s jealous) , idealistic — always looking on the bright side of things, outgoing, romantic, and professional— especially when it comes to her team; her true leadership comes out, yet she can be indecisive, hates confrontation, self pitying — if things don’t go perfectly how she imagined/planned it to, the world is ending and everyone is out to get her, and can be unreliable—never on time
September libra to be exact
if she’s really in love/taken a interest in you then she gets nervous: blushing, sweaty palms, cracking her knuckles, tongue tied—the whole 9
she’s already defined as a puppy by her coach but when she’s in love? She’s a lovesick puppy!
her fav holiday is Valentine’s Day
thought she was going to be a pro skateboarder growing up but it took one bad fall where she thought she was paralyzed for her to choose something else
she likes her weed on occasion
Obsessed with all types of cheese except cottage, “can I put cheese on this?”
more of a jumpsuit kinda girl or dressy top with jeans & hoops on a night out
has a solid group of mates outside of the hockey team, they’ve all met and hung out a couple of times, as they should since aj feels they’re going to be stuck with her for awhile so why not?
They’re a riot when they all go out, let’s just say that there’s never a dull moment
fav color is periwinkle
enjoys ASMR, mostly in the mornings when she’s waking up. You know how people love podcasts? (Sorry seb & Nicky, she still wants to be on the show soon!) ASMR is her thing
loves tangerines, you can count on it that she’ll have one on her, “where did you pull that from?” “I’ll never share my master plan.” “You’re such a tit.”
Definitely prefers “fresh squeezed” orange juice & will make her own, she has the tools & the strength 😏
Very rare for her to get sick ;) & if she does she’s a complete baby about it
Will fight that she’s sick before she admits it, trying all sorts of horrid remedies & vitamins
loves summer & all things that come with it, the number one thing is leaving bath for however long she can for a new place to enjoy
when she arrived to love island, she was thrilled for the weather. Yes she was looking for love but most importantly a nice get away & that it was (depending on your route that is lol)
closest with seb, vieve, elladine, and tai but don’t tell the others that! (She doesn’t care if you tell Yasmin, honestly)
just because her & seb “dated” and it didn’t work out doesn’t mean they can’t be friends right? It was almost automatic for them to be platonic after it was determined there would be no romance between them, almost like sibs! like those celebs like to say—except this time these two won’t turn around and actually find romance
vieve came with seb so...but no shade aj did like vieve. She gave great advice (while seb sometimes didn’t say the right things unintentionally or what aj needed to hear) when needed, especially from a medical view and is very sweet
elladine was the one who had all the tea & ideas to match, she’s quite organized and always down for DIY’s and could suggest almost anything. If you needed someone to help you get things tidy or match/find your Aesthetic, she’s the friend you call to help
tai was the one she could be a “bro” with, sure elladine has her competive side (or controlling, depends on how you view it) but tai was the one you can run to for much needed “bro hugs”, partying, going to the pubs, playing sports with or against, checking out/flirting with babes, etc...
it was not long after the villa that aj had a revelation with her sexuality & fully owned and labeled herself as a lesbian
She was happy being in relationship with someone else or with herself, life was short and she was young so there wasn’t time to dwell and stress over things so what the hell?! Live your truth the best way you know how ya know?
probably smells like sweet citrus, almond flower, and sea salt
on chest days, she’s a sweets snacker. Loves gummy bears (also with vodka) , swedish fish, sour patch kids, etc...basically shit that sticks to ur teeth
put all her chips into hockey, while it was advised by her Counselors & mum not to do so, aj went about it anyway. She thought about the pros and cons but knew there was nothing else for her. So there were more pros than cons. She was meant to play sports, its what felt right in her soul
Made her feel connected to her father, when she’s on the field she feels that he is with her
scrunches up her nose when she’s frustrated or confused about something
Doesn’t always grasp concepts right away, she’s a soft dummy but most of us are and that’s okay! We’re all smart in our own ways
Feels like sunflowers are always around her especially if she sees them wherever she is. They must symbolize SOMETHING, therefore she loves them
spf queen. All about it, get with it or let the sunrays ruin ur skin that’s on u
loves a good filet mignon medium-well & is probably the only good thing she knows how to make alongside a salad, baked potatoes, & her oj
sucker for romantic-comedies...it’s basically her life duh!
If she has a dog, it’s a Dalmatian or Great Dane. She needs a companion that’ll keep up with her
loves kissing, it’s her favorite form of intimacy
Quarantine life included the push up challenge for her. Gaining a few pounds in muscle and fat, bothering seb via ft, viewing old letters she wrote to her dad, spending time with her fav ladies since they were now restricted from having guests in their home, and letting boredom consume her + she hated the whole lockdown that came with it, she hated being indoors for long periods of time but she knew that’s what partly needed to be done
Posts a lot of beach, park, outings with her friends & team, moments with her fav ladies, workout videos, and guests at the b&b with their permission and if only she befriends them along the way. She’s just as active on the socials as she is in rl but she’s not obsessed with it, she knows how to live in the now. She’s all about balance!
I also feel like she never keeps her phone charged and it’s always dying on her! She had a car charger but...that’s a jungle. She needs to invest in a portable charger stat
crushing on/finds attractive: Jared Padalecki, Keanu Reeves, Barrett Doss, Camilla Luddington, Sandra Bullock, Adrian Kempe, Harry Kirton, Anya Taylor-Joy, Haley Lu Richardson, Naomi Osaka, Ming & Aoki Lee Simmons
who does she listen to? Shakira lol!! Bea Miller, Dua Lipa, Daya, XYLØ, Elley Duhé, Stela Cole, Aloe Blacc, Maroon 5, Lewis capaldi, Charlie Puth, girl in red, Hayley kiyoko, king princess, dodie, & tessa violet
Anthem: Icona Pop — we got the world

Enjoy!
It's been two days since I've heard from Rory while he was washing his car. I don't want to bother him, I know he's busy with work and Amy. So, I get dressed and take Winnie for a walk. It's a sunny winter's day, we spend an hour in the park playing fetch before I grab a hot chocolate from the food van in the park.
We are nearly home when I hear my phone, I pull it out of my bag and the screen lights up.
*Lovelink - Rory has sent you a message*
[Hi Laila, How are you? I was thinking about our last conversation and I have my answer, but I want to tell you in person.]
I reply once I get inside.
[Hey Rory, I'm fab thanks you? How is Amy? Oh ok, I'm glad you've have come to a conclusion.]
[I'm not great tbh. Amy is fine, she has an art show at school tomorrow night.]
[Oh no, what's wrong? Aww, bless her! Has she made an art piece?]
[I've missed you! I was thinking would you be up for coming? My mom and dad will be there too. So, I understand if it's too much too soon. Yeah, she's done a drawing of you.]
[I can't say I haven't missed you. Oh, are you sure you want me to be there if your parents are? Is this your way of getting me to the art show? Because it's working.]
[Yes, I want you there and so does Amy after you helped her at her dance recital she wanted to do something to say thank you. If it means you'll come then yes haha.]
[Fine, I'll come, but only because I'm curious about this drawing. Plus, I want to see you and Amy! What time does it start?]
[Thank you so much Amy will be so pleased about you coming! It starts at 6 pm but I can come and pick you up at about 5.30 pm?]
[Just Amy? Ok, 5.30 is great. Can't wait to see you both]
[I'm super excited to see you too! Great, I'll see you then.]
(He wants me to meet his parents? Does that mean he's ready to move on? I guess I'll find out tomorrow)
~*~*~*~
The next day I drop Winnie round to my neighbours house. I'm just finishing up. I decided on a blue blouse undone slightly and black jeans with knee-high boots.
Ding Dong!
He's here! I open the door, Rory smiles "Laila, you look beautiful!"
"Thank you! You look handsome yourself. Ready to go?" I ask.
"Aww, thanks. Yeah, Amy is in the car"
"Great, let's go!" We walk over to the car and Amy smiles brightly at me as we approached the car.
Rory opens the door for me "Such a gentleman"
He smiles "Only the best for you"
He seems different from the past two dates lighter and more confident. He closes the door.
"Hey, Amy how are you?"
"I'm ok thanks. Are you?"
Rory gets into the car.
"I'm great thanks Amy" Rory starts the engine. It's not long before we arrive at the school.
When we get inside, Rory waves at an elderly couple I'm guessing are his parents. They make their way over to us "Rory, Amy and who might this be" the elderly lady says.
"Mom, Dad this is Laila. She's my date, Laila and Laila this is my mother Philippa and my father, Albert"
"Hi, nice to meet you both!"
"Rory you didn't tell us you were dating again! I'm so happy for you" Philippa says.
"She's beautiful too," Albert says.
"She is," Rory gives me a look that sends butterfly's through my body.
I smile.
"Laila, come on I want to show you my drawing!"
Amy grabs my hand and leads me to her drawing "Amy, this is beautiful!"
"I added Dad on to it. The love heart is you two falling in love"
"Oh wow! What's the rainbow for?"
She smiles "Nothing, I just wanted to add a rainbow"
"Oh ok! Well, it's better than any rainbow I have ever drawn!" We laugh as Rory and his parents appear behind us.
"Do you like it, Daddy?"
"Amy it's amazing, but I thought you said it was a drawing of Laila?"
"It is! There is Laila and there is you and that is you falling in love!" Rory blushes.
We look round at all the other art pieces Rory comes up behind me as I'm looking at a paper mache volcano. I feel his breath on the back of my neck "Are you ok?"
I turn "Hey, Yeah I'm fine you?"
"Laila, I'm sorry about Amy's picture"
"It's cute," I smile at him.
"Well, we have 5 minutes to ourselves can we talk?" he asks.
"Sure"
"On our last date you said you didn't think I was ready to move on," he says.
"I did and I also said you needed to think about what you wanted"
"Yes, you did," he says.
"So, Rory have you figured it out?"
"I did...Laila, I've had a long hard think about it and I'm ready! My walls are coming down for you!" He gives me a cheeky grin.
"Are you sure? I don't want to push you into something you aren't ready for!"
"Laila, I'm one hundred percent positive" His arms wrap around me, and he pulls me in tight.
I giggle "Rory!" I wrap my arms around him "You're like a bear! Rory bear!"
He laughs "Is that my new pet name?"
"It will be!" I laugh.
We de-tangle ourselves from each other Amy runs over excited "Laila, Daddy come on they're announcing the winners" she drags us over to where her teacher is on stage.
"Evening, parents and students I am proud to announce the winners from Falcon class. Third place goes to Isla Johnson. Well done Isla!"
We clap little Isla as she steps on stage to accept her award.
"Second place goes to Amy O'Brien, Well done Amy!"
Amy's face lights up as she turns to us "Yes! I got second place!!"
"Well done Amy!" Rory beams at her.
"Go claim your award! Amy!" Albert tells her.
She runs on stage and accepts her award. She comes back off stage, and we don't even hear who wins first place.
"This calls for a celebration! Why don't Grandad and I take you out for dinner sweetpea?" Philippa asks.
"Yes, please!" she turns to Rory.
"Daddy, can I go? Please?" Amy asks.
"Aren't Laila and I invited?"
She laughs "Daddy, you and Laila should have some time together!"
"Yeah, we'll watch Amy for a few hours. You two go and enjoy yourselves" Albert offers.
Rory looks at me with a look I have never seen from him before "Are you sure?" he asks.
"Of course! We love any chance to spoil our grandchild" Philippa says.
"Ok, but make sure you behave for Nanna and Grandad. OK?"
Amy smiles "Deal! Bye, Daddy!"
"Bye, sweetheart!"
Amy takes her grandparents' hands and leads them toward the exit.
Rory turns to me "Do you want to come back to mine? I could cook us dinner?"
"Ok, sounds perfect!"
We make our way to his car, and he opens the door for me "Thank you!"
He winks, closes the door, and gets into the driver's seat "Amy likes you"
I smile at him "She's a lovely kid! You did a brilliant job!"
He blushes "Thank you, Laila. You know when her Mom died, I thought how am I going to do this by myself and get it right?"
I take his hand "Well, you smashed it!"
He lifts my hand to his lips and places a small kiss against my knuckles.
10 minutes later we pull up to his house, he comes round to my side of the car and opens the door "You know I will expect you to open every door I go to walk through now" I laugh.
"It would be my pleasure!" He winks. He takes my hand and entwines his fingers through mine as he leads me to the house.
He unlocks the door and I step inside with Rory close behind as soon as the door shuts, he presses me against the wall his lips claim mine.
His kiss is full of passion, want, and desire. I'm pressed against the hard wall and his muscular body. I wrap my arms around him, his hands come under my thighs, and he lifts me up.
He starts grinding against my core "Rory" I feel he's stiff against me.
He moves us away from the wall, his lips never leaving mine. He guides us upstairs, kicks open a door and we fall onto his bed. He pulls away a little "Laila, I want you! I'm ready"
I giggle, "I kinda figured that"
His eyes are alight with desire "If you don't want this..."
I cut him off, he gets the hint. He moves from my lips and down to my neck and back up to my ear, his lips brush against it "You're so beautiful!" his hands start to unbutton my blouse his lips feather kisses against my chest.
I push off his suit jacket, pull his sweater vest up over his head and I grab his tie and pull him down towards my lips. He groans as his hand dips into my jeans, he brushes against me and I can't help arch off the bed. I yank his tie off and begin to unbutton his shirt.
I become breathless at the sight of his toned body. I flip us, crash my lips to his and work my way down his breathing shudders as I pepper kiss over his chest down to his abs "Laila!" I unbuckle his belt and he shifts helping me get him out of them.
I trail kisses up his inner thigh I pull him free of his boxers. He's hard I take him in my hand and circle around the tip he bucks up "Ah, ah, ah! Rory bear!"
He hisses in frustration "Christ...Laila!"
I work my mouth against him. His hand tangles into my hair moving me to his rhythm.
"Laila, you have to stop," he pulls me up onto the bed next to him, he moves to hover over me. He pulls off my boots and jeans in one swift manner.
His tongue invades my mouth, his taste still lingering there. His lips kiss along my purse line, my collarbone to my breast he unclips my bra and tosses it to the floor.
His lips cover my nipple "Crap Rory!" He moves to my tummy nipping as he goes definitely hard enough to leave bite marks. His hands pull at the waistband of my underwear until they are gone. He pulls a silver packet out of the bedside cabinet draw.
"Laila, it's been a while so I might be a little rusty" he lifts my legs his mouth finds my centre.
He moves my folds apart with his tongue I cry out unable to hold back a moan "Rory bear, you definitely have......not forgot how to do that!" I clutch his hair and move my hips wanting more.
He works against my clit "Nice to know I haven't lost my touch!" He doubles his efforts I'm barely holding on!
I pull him up to my lips he pulls away enough our lips aren't touching, but his forehead is against mine "Laila, are you sure this is what you want? Me? Everything that comes with me?"
"Yes! I want all of you!" This is all he needs to hear.
He rips the foil packet open with his teeth and rolls the condom on. He brushes his stiffened member against me and pushes past my entrance filling me. His lips forcefully captures mine, he groans. Each thrust he draws out slowly then thrust back fast and hard, I can't get enough of him!
My nails dig into his back, he hisses "God Laila!" His lips move to my pulse line every nerve ending feels electrified with each thrust, touch, kiss I can barely hold back a moan. I flip us both to his surprise "Whoa!" He screams.
"I need a bit of control too!" I start to move my hips riding him.
"By all....means I'm.....willing to....let....you take ohh god....the reins!" He struggles to get his words out.
His hands grasp my hips, and he bucks to match my rhythm "Ooooh Rory bear!"
He smirks "You know I love....this neeew pet name!" He groans.
He sits up placing his hand on the back of my neck, pulling me to his lips. He catches my lip between his teeth as he pulls me tight against his bare chest, "I can't..."
His lips brush against my ear "Let go, Laila! I'm barely holding on myself!" This is all it takes to send me falling over the edge. Rory shudders as he finds his own climax.
We are both panting barely catching our breath. He smiles up at me "Laila, that was...wow just wow!"
I smile "It was amazing!"
He pulls me into a soft kiss we are interrupted by the sound of his phone.
I collapse onto the bed next to him while he reaches for it. He reads the message "Everything OK?" I ask.
He turns to me with a cheeky smile "Just my Mom, she's going to have Amy for the night!"
"Oh?"
He lay next to me "You know what that means?" He smirks.
I try to hide a smile (I know exactly what it means by the smile on his face) "What does it mean?"
"Round 2" he pulls me onto him.
"HEY! You promised to cook me dinner!"
He smirks "We'll order in...After!"
He starts laying kisses along my pulse line, and we get lost in each other embrace again.
I’m tagging you because I know your a Lovelink fan lovely @khoicesbyk

if it's alright can i rq a non-comic verse/au/w/e speedingbullet fic where sniper introduces scout to his parents? i've seen a lot of fics where scout introduces sniper to his family but not a lot for snipes' folks, and i think they have an interesting dynamic as well
galaxy brain takes my dude, galaxy brain takes. in summary i think it would go Terrible
(warning for very bad parents)
-
Sniper shifted the car into park and glared down at his steering wheel for a few long minutes. He took a deep inhale, a slow exhale. A second. A third.
“You’ve got this,” Scout said encouragingly, even as he found himself eyeing the little farmhouse out the driver’s side window. Sniper gave him a dubious glance. “No, seriously, you’ve got this!”
“Have I?”
“Snipes, it’s your mom and dad. It’s gonna be fine.”
Sniper took a few more deep breaths. Side-eyed the farmhouse.
“And I’m gonna be right here the whole time,” Scout reminded him, putting his hand over top of Sniper’s where it still rested on the gearshift.
Sniper looked at him, took one last deep breath, and nodded. He popped his door open, moving somewhat quickly, clearly trying to rip off the bandage as best he could.
Scout walked close as they approached the house, eyeing it further, gaze darting from the stretch of road on either side to the pasture off past the house. He squinted at the shapes out there, trying to distinguish and figure out how many sheep were over there. It was a lot.
It was a lucky thing he was looking that way, because that meant he could nudge Sniper and get his attention.
“Uh,” he said, looking back towards the flock, and Sniper followed his eye and saw the dogs there sitting at attention and staring at them.
One dog stood and barked, and that set them all off, and they bolted over towards the pair, barking furiously.
Sniper wrapped an arm around Scout’s waist and moved him half-behind him, pulling his sunglasses off and staring down the dogs. “Oi, none of that!” he called as they approached, and the dogs skidded to a stop when they got to him, still going absolutely bananas but significantly less aggressively than before, starting to nose at and lick his hands excitedly, practically bowling him over as they bumped happily at his legs. “Awright, awright, ‘llo to you too.”
They seemed pretty excited about Scout, too, sniffing and nosing at him, and Scout knelt to pat one of the dogs on the head. He was promptly knocked back, the dog starting to lick him all over the face.
“No, Luna!” Sniper said firmly, tugging on the dog’s collar to get her to ease off, rolling his eyes at how Scout was laughing, clearly very endeared. “Play nice.”
“Luna’s her name?” Scout asked for confirmation, petting all over her head. “Good dog!”
“Don’t spoil ‘er, she’s a lazy one,” Sniper warned, even as he also patted at her back before shifting focus back to the three other dogs who were still very much excited. “The two kelpies are Brandy and Dig, the brown koolie is Vince and the spotty one is Luna.”
“These are good dogs,” Scout seemed to decide, squawking as he was immediately whacked in the face by a furiously-wagging tail.
“Mickey?”
Both of their heads whipped around to look at the source of the voice. Scout was surprised to see the little old woman who was standing there, her glasses big and round and her eyes squinted slightly as if disbelieving. Sniper shifted. “Hi, mum,” he mumbled, just loud enough to be heard over the dogs barking, helping Scout to his feet.
“Mickey!” she exclaimed, bundling down the stairs and hurrying over to embrace him. He shifted to make the process easier. “Oh, you’re here so much earlier than I thought you’d be, dear! Thought you’d be another day, surely!”
“No, said—said it’d be today,” he murmured hesitantly.
“Oh, I’m sure you did, but it’s always so hard to travel during the holidays,” she tsk’d, patting his cheek good-naturedly. “I worry is all.”
“Well, everything was fine,” he shrugged awkwardly.
“Of course. Well, come in and see your father, dear, I’m sure he’ll be happy to see you!”
And just like that she was moving back up the steps of the porch and into the house.
Scout was too surprised to say anything, and blinked a few times. “Uh... Snipes, she’s not, like, blind or something, right?” he asked gently. “She didn’t even look at me.”
Sniper inhaled slowly, exhaled slowly. “Bugger,” he finally said.
Scout looked around the inside of the house with great interest, surprised by a few things. First of all, that it was so thoroughly an old person’s house—the various assorted knickknacks and decorations, the way it was laid out, everything felt very much like something he’d have seen in his grandad’s house, or other houses occupied by people of a similar age. And that made sense, because Sniper’s parents were indeed fairly old. And Sniper had brought that up before they got there, when Scout had found a picture of them, that they’d both been in their late thirties when they had him, and worked with sheep out in the sun for so much of their lives, so of course they’d aged all the more because of it.
“Shoes off!” was barked at the both of them before they could even step properly through the door. Scout had to take a knee to untie his shoes to get them off, while Sniper could toe out of his own pretty easily.
“...’llo, dad,” Sniper said after a second when the man at the armchair facing away from them—presumably Sniper’s dad—didn’t say anything else.
No response.
“Mickey dear,” his mother said, returning from a room down the hall holding a box. “You already knew we turned your room into a guest room ages back, but I’m afraid I’ll need a tick to put the bedding on—“
“It’s awright, mum,” Sniper was quick to assure.
“I can do that,” Scout offered helpfully.
“Oh, so he knows how to make a bed? I wouldn’t have expected” Sniper’s mum asked in a way that almost sounded like faux-surprised, not looking at him as she put the box on the table and shifted the tablecloth neatly. Scout shrank.
“I—no, I, I can... I know how to make a bed,” he confirmed carefully.
“Well, linens are in a basket by the bed then,” Sniper’s mom said, and disappeared from sight again.
“...Anything good on?” Sniper asked towards the still-silent armchair, glancing at the TV and back.
No response.
“Dear, any idea what you’d want for dinner?” Sniper’s mum asked, returning with a second box to also put on the table.
“I’m not picky,” he shrugged, looked over at Scout. “You?”
“I mean, I don’t care,” Scout also shrugged, hands stuffed into his back pockets. “I like pretty much everything.”
“I’m sure you do,” Sniper’s mum said neutrally, and Scout was still trying to figure out how exactly to respond to that when she spoke again. “Might just make some soup then, Mickey, unless you’ve got a suggestion.”
“Any suggestions, dad?” Sniper asked the armchair.
No response.
“I’ll need to go send the dogs back to work, then I’ll start cooking,” Sniper’s mum said, and gave him another pat on the shoulder as she passed by him, and Scout needed to dodge out of the way as she threatened to bowl right through him to go outside.
A pause, a hard exhale from Sniper. “Bloody hate it here,” Sniper mumbled.
“Free to leave any time you like,” Sniper’s dad snipped from the couch.
“Oh, you heard that one, then?” Sniper snapped right back. “Good to know.”
Scout tapped the back of Sniper’s hand to get his attention. “Uh, I’m gonna grab our bags and stuff, where are we sleeping?” he asked quietly, and Sniper exhaled again and tugged him along.
Sniper pulled him into a room and shut the door behind them, leaning on it heavily and sighing hard, pulling a hand down his face. “Bloody hate it here,” he repeated, all the more bitter with the additional volume he was allowed.
“Fuckin’ sheesh, Snipes, you talked about your dad and made it sound like he was just sort of an asshole, but wow! That’s—“ Words briefly escaped him. “Like, he’s your dad, why’s he acting like that?”
“He’s always like that,” Sniper muttered.
“And... wh—so your mom just, what, doesn’t... like me? I think?” he asked, visibly confused.
“Neither of them do,” Sniper replied. “Thought—I really thought mum would at least hold out until she met you, talked to you a bit, but... I’m sorry, I, it was a mistake coming out here—“
“No, no, it’s okay,” Scout assured quickly, stepping forward and putting hands on Sniper’s shoulders, squeezing comfortingly. “It’s—we’ll figure this out. Okay, what—what’s the problem? Why doesn’t your mom like me?”
“She doesn’t think I’m at all capable of taking care of myself and always wanted me to get a partner, ideally a wife, who would be able to take care of me because I can’t,” Sniper rattled off tonelessly. “And she doesn’t think you can take care of yourself, let alone me too. Among other things.”
Scout blinked. “...Okay. So we don’t have time to unpack all that.”
“Right.”
“...But, I, I just gotta... show your mom that I can take care of both of us!”
“Right?” Sniper repeated, eyebrow raised.
“Yeah! Look, I can make the bed, help with dinner, help clean up—whatever else needs doin’—and then she’ll see that I’ve totally got this and it’ll be great!”
“You never make my bed,” Sniper pointed out, tone tilting just a little bit to the left into joking territory.
“Yeah, because you’re a grown man and you don’t need help with that stuff, especially from me. I’m not your maid, I’m your boyfriend. I help you out in all kinds of other ways,” Scout shrugged.
“Like?” Sniper asked, intrigued.
“Like, talkin’ to you about stuff you like, telling you how much I like you and how great you are, hearing you out when you’re upset about stuff, being around to make you feel better when you’re doin’ stuff like this that you hate and that make you feel like garbage,” Scout listed off, and Sniper blinked, realizing how much of that was accurate. “But apparently your mom doesn’t care about any of that, like, mushy crap, so I’ll do things her way.”
“That’s a lot of work,” Sniper said hesitantly.
“Then I’ll do a lot of work,” Scout shrugged. “I wanna get along with your family, at least a little.”
“I don’t get along with yours,” Sniper pointed out.
“Eh, you’ll meet my Ma someday and she’ll fuckin’ love you, you’ve probably already got a spot at the dinner table,” Scout brushed off, turning and glancing around the room. “Okay. I’ll make the bed, you...”
“I’ll just,” Sniper said, and took a seat at the chair next to the dresser.
“Cool.”
-
Scout made the bed in the guest room and did the vast majority of the work making the soup that would be dinner. He then also cleaned, dried, and put back away the bowls, washed the utensils and pots, cleaned off the stove where there’d been a minor spill, and went to go get he and Sniper’s bags from the camper.
Sniper’s dad didn’t eat with them at the table, just remaining in front of the TV facing away and not talking to anyone except to occasionally snap at Sniper if he got anywhere near mentioning work or complaining about anything, even jokingly. Sniper’s mum, meanwhile, continued to make the occasional patronizing or passive-aggressive comment about how Scout did things. She described how he acted as “...interesting”, and made more overt comments on him and Sniper’s relationship when Sniper wasn’t in the room, and very clearly was watching him like a hawk.
“Never been on a farm before?” she asked at one point.
“Oh, nah, not really, no farms or nothin’ in Boston, big city and all,” Scout replied.
“Hmm,” she said, tone implying that she meant something by that, but she did not elaborate upon what.
“You awright?” Sniper asked him gently as Scout finally crawled into bed, feeling a little exhausted in more than a few ways.
“Yeah, it’ll be nice to sleep on a bigger bed like this,” Scout said cheerfully, managing to muster a smile.
“I meant about my mum,” Sniper clarified.
“It’s—I’ll be fine,” Scout said, and curled up against Sniper, and Sniper dropped it.
The next day, they spent a good chunk of the day out around the sheep, Sniper talking about some of the technical aspects of things that he needed to know growing up. Scout spent a good chunk of time playing fetch with the working dogs, who seemed absolutely elated at how far and fast he could pitch a baseball (completely demolished by the end of the day, but luckily Scout had others in his bag), and Sniper spent any time they weren’t playing trying to get the dogs to back off a bit and stop trying to jump and lick at his face and hands. They were clearly very happy to see him.
Sniper walked him around showed him some different places in a radius of the house, explaining assorted stories from his childhood. The place where he got that scar, the place where he would practice shooting a toy bow so he could be like Robin Hood, the rock he would climb all the time, the tree he spent a summer trying to secretly build a fort in only to have it knocked over by storms a few times. And there really was a youthfulness to Sniper’s face as he explained all the different things he would get up to in his downtime, the adventures he would try and take himself on.
He also showed Scout a fair share of different critters and bugs, whenever he spotted them on trees or branches or rocks, and seemed to enjoy Scout’s skiddishness and panic whenever he pointed out any that were particularly close. By the end of their little walk, Scout was constantly brushing at his arms and legs, and occasionally asking Sniper if there was something on his back or in his hair. In his defense, there was a fly at one point, and a gnat up above one ear that needed brushed away at a different point.
He informed Scout that he wouldn’t last a week out in the bush. Scout informed him that he wasn’t goddamn planning on it in the scary mutant fucked up bug country. Sniper asked him what it meant that he was dating the guy from scary mutant fucked up bug country. Scout informed him that actually Sniper was one of the mutant bugs. Sniper laughed.
Scout made both of them lunch—some sandwiches—since when they got back, Sniper’s mum was nowhere to be seen, and Sniper’s dad ignored him outright when he hesitantly asked if he wanted anything. And they spent a while longer with Sniper showing Scout some of the very few things his parents had kept as souvenirs from his childhood, in the little closet of his childhood-bedroom-turned-guest-room. And once it was in his memory, he kept talking for a while, explaining all sorts of different things, telling Scout story after story once he was on track. It was nice.
Sniper’s mum came back at some point, and peeked in the open door to the room to greet them and check in. Told Sniper she was so sorry, she just needed to do some shopping, and oh, didn’t Sniper’s dad tell them where she’d gone? And oh they probably hadn’t had lunch and were starving—
And Scout helped put away groceries, expressed enthusiasm and tried to ask questions about the farm. Good questions, real questions, about the things Sniper had said he didn’t know. About what they did with the extra land since they apparently didn’t keep as many sheep anymore, about whether that meant they didn’t need to hire on any hands, about whether they might consider hiring on more hands or just retiring outright at some point.
Sniper’s mum had said in the sweetest voice that she was sure a young man like him who’d grown up in a city wouldn’t understand even if she told him.
Sniper took him out to play with the dogs some more, let him work that particular hit out of his system by pitching the baseball as hard as he could towards the horizon line, and he’d calmed down a bit by the time dinner rolled around, and helped again, cleaned up again. And at some point he ended up sweeping the kitchen, although he couldn’t say how he’d gotten roped into doing so.
There was an argument at the table. Scout suspected it was because this time, Sniper’s dad joined them.
“Oh, Snipes, could you—“ Scout asked at one point, gesturing towards the salt shaker, which Sniper passed. “Thanks.”
“That what they call you out there?” Sniper’s dad asked, speaking for the first time all day as far as Scout knew.
Sniper took a breath. “Who is ‘they’ and where is ‘out there’?” he asked calmly.
“The murderers you work with in America,” his dad clarified.
Sniper’s hands tightened on the table. Scout’s eyes flicked between the two of them. “...No, I’m the only one who calls him that,” Scout said carefully.
“So you are one of those maniacs?” he asked next, and Scout frowned.
“Ignore him,” Sniper told Scout, no small amount of bitterness in his voice.
“Be nice, Mickey,” Sniper’s mum admonished.
“What, it’s not nice to ignore people? Clearly dad doesn’t agree, he’s been doing that ever since I got here,” Sniper said, a little bit snappish.
“Snipes, it’s fine,” Scout assured quietly, even as he visibly fought the urge to shrink a little in his seat.
“It’s not fine!” Sniper said, voice rising. “I come back for the first time in a year to introduce you to the bloody love of my life and this is how you’re treating him?!”
“I’m the love of your life?” Scout asked quietly, and was largely ignored.
“Oh, sure, you bring a murderer into our house and home on vacation from killing people, what on earth could be wrong with that?” Sniper’s dad asked sarcastically. “You bring home the second-skinniest bloke I’ve ever seen in my life and try and tell me you’re going anywhere, and you think I’m going to take any of this seriously.”
“Second-skinniest? Who was first?” Sniper snapped, confused.
“You,” Sniper’s dad snickered.
Sniper took four actions in response to that. He clenched his fists, he stood up from his chair, he marched away into the guest room, and he slammed the door behind him.
For a second, silence. “Isn’t that just like him,” Sniper’s dad scoffed after that second.
“Really shouldn’t slam the door,” Sniper’s mum said.
“Holy shit, fuck you guys,” Scout decided internally, and stood up and followed after him.
He made sure to shut the door behind himself, albiet much more gingerly than Sniper had. Sniper was facedown on the bed, face buried in a pillow.
Silence, for a long moment. Scout didn’t say anything. Sniper didn’t say anything.
“So I’m the love of your life?” Scout asked, semi-jokingly, hoping to break through the tension.
Nothing. Sniper didn’t respond.
He sat down on the bed next to him, and Sniper breathed a hard sigh. “I’m 30 years old, and still upset about fights with my mum and dad,” he said, laughing humorlessly. “This is all just... just so ridiculous.”
“Hey, in your defense, all that out there was total bullshit, they were being assholes,” Scout said.
A pause from Sniper before he spoke. “Thanks,” he seemed to decide. “Just, bugger, what am I meant to do?”
“Maybe... we do head out tomorrow,” Scout decided carefully. “Stay in the city until we gotta go back to work. You can show me a zoo or something, we can see more of your batshit crazy animals. Eat at a nice restaurant.”
“Please,” Sniper agreed, exhaling, relaxing bodily at the idea. “Please, bugger. Seen the dogs, seen the sheep, seen the parents, nothing left to do.”
“Yeah. We—we can head out tomorrow morning maybe. Breakfast then drive.”
“Brekkie then drive,” Sniper agreed. “Thank you.”
“No problem.” A pause. “Let’s circle back around to when you said I was the love of your life.”
Sniper shifted, propping his head up on his arms to look over at Scout. “What about it?” he asked.
Scout paused. “...I dunno, just... I dunno. Big words.”
“Yeah.”
Scout, for a minute, considered unpacking that further, but ended up just leaning in to kiss Sniper firmly on the lips to let him know exactly what he thought of that particular sentiment.
The next morning they packed their things back up. Scout was in the process of packing his own bag when he heard Sniper in the kitchen telling his mum they were leaving, and tried to keep up with what he was saying when he realized Sniper was telling a bit of a white lie.
“Change of plans, we’re needed back a bit sooner than we thought we’d be,” Sniper said. “Sorry, mum.”
“Oh, but dear! You’ve only just gotten here!” she said, sounding legitimately broken up about it.
“Boss’s orders, nothing I can do about it,” Sniper explained.
“Well, put me on the phone with that boss of yours!” she seemed to decide.
“Mum, I-I can’t do that.”
“Of course you can!”
By the time Scout had put his own bag in the camper, the argument had migrated to the porch and gained a participant.
“Oh, so what, you’re going back early? Can’t miss out on any heads to pop, then?” Sniper’s dad challenged.
“Look, I’d rather keep my job, awright?”
“Well that makes one of us!”
“Mickey,” his mum said, taking hold of his hands. “Really, it’s unreasonable. You should get more than just a few days off to be with family.”
“I—look, I’ve really got to go,” he insisted, trying to pull back.
Scout moved to stand with him, frowning a little. He was ignored. “Dear, at least stay for lunch,” his mum offered.
“That’ll be in a few hours, and I’d really like to be on the road by then,” Sniper replied.
“Did you even have breakfast?”
“He made some for me,” Sniper said, ticking his head towards Scout.
“Oh,” Sniper’s mum said, giving him a tight, plastic smile. “I’m sure he did.”
“Awright, you need to stop that,” Sniper all but snapped, voice kept carefully in control.
“What do you mean, dear?” she asked lightly.
“Don’t snap at your mother,” Sniper’s dad said firmly.
“Snipes, let’s just go,” Scout urges quietly, tugging on his sleeve.
“Yeah, go on, run back to the States to be with your murderer friends,” Sniper’s dad huffed, waving him off dismissively. “You can come back when you’ve figured things out and set your head back on straight. Tightened those loose screws back up again.”
“Shut up,” Scout snapped, and then suddenly all eyes were on him.
“Pardon?” Sniper’s dad asked, surprised and angry.
“...Yeah, shut up,” Scout decided, more firmly. “Don’t talk to him like that.”
“You have something to say about it?” Sniper’s dad challenged.
“Yeah, because you’re being an asshole,” Scout said decisively. “And you’re treating my boyfriend like garbage, and if you weren’t his dad I would have already punched your fuckin’ lights out for that kinda disrespect, old man. And that’s not because I’m a mercenary, it’s because I’m from Boston and I’ve got standards. I would lay you out if I was a goddamn kindergarten teacher.”
“Oh, Boston?” Sniper’s mum said in a vaguely disappointed tone.
“No, nah, you too! You can go ahead and shut up too! Just because you’re not worse than this guy that doesn’t mean you’re off the hook, lady!” Scout declared, pointing at her accusatorily. “I’ve done nothin’ but try and be polite and helpful to you people since I got here and all you’ve done is make these weird backhanded bullshit comments at me! If you’ve got a problem, say something. Don’t be a coward like this. What’s your issue?”
“Just that my little Mickey has decided to be with some American city-bred boy who couldn’t run a farm to save his life if—“ she started to defend.
“Yeah, I couldn’t! Which would suck if Snipes actually wanted that! And I wish I did, but no, I didn’t get to grow up on a farm, I got to grow up in a shitty apartment with seven brothers and no dad in the bad side of town! I always wanted to have a farm and a bunch of dogs and maybe some sheep or something and all kinds of places to play around and be a kid, but I couldn’t have that! And I’m really really jealous that Snipes got to have that! But I’m not jealous of the fact that he had to put up with the two of you!”
“Scout—“ Sniper tried, but Scout barreled through it.
“I mean, fuck! Now I’m a little glad I didn’t have a dad, maybe I skipped out on having to deal with an asshole like you!” Scout laughed, high and humorless. “And at least I had my brothers around and a Ma who actually cares about what I want and would at least pretend to be nice to anyone I brought home, because she loves me. Actively, on purpose, even if sometimes I do things she isn’t completely on board with! If I told her I was leaving the country to go do some job out somewhere and I wasn’t gonna live in Boston anymore, she’d wish me good luck and ask me to try and call or stop by one year for the holidays, not whatever this is!”
“Scout—“ Sniper tried again.
“And I tried, I tried so hard to be nice to you people! Because I love this guy right here so goddamn much and I wanted to at least get along with his family. But you’ve made it pretty fuckin’ clear that you aren’t gonna give me that same courtesy, so you can just go ahead and pack up a neat little suitcase of go fuck yourselves and stop being pieces of shit to my boyfriend. How’s that for a fuckin’ cityboy?”
A very, very long silence. Behind his glasses, Sniper’s eyes were shining with pride, even as he kept his face as calm as he could.
“Finally,” Sniper’s dad huffed.
“Dear,” Sniper’s mum chided.
“Look, I don’t like you, and I don’t plan on liking you any time soon,” Sniper’s dad started, and Scout’s fists clenched at his sides. “But I can respect someone who defends his partner like that.”
“He doesn’t need defending,” Scout snapped. “He’s a grown goddamn man.”
“I just worry,” Sniper’s mum said, picking up on the pointedness of that comment.
“Worry about your own fuckin’ self, lady, how about that?” Scout scoffed.
“Look,” Sniper’s dad said, still mad like a kicked cat. “I’m serious about not coming back. I won’t be having my boy weighed down by a criminal. You want any place with this family, you’re gonna need to quit being a mercenary.”
“I mean, eventually,” Scout said, shrugging. “But I wanna have some savings before then. Shitty apartment in the bad side of town. Lots of catching up to do.”
“...Oh,” Sniper’s dad said, seeming surprised by that reply.
“Let’s go, Snipes,” Scout finally said, taking Sniper’s hand and turning them, walking them towards the camper.
“Don’t forget to call, dear!” Sniper’s mum hollered before they could get too far away.
Scout flipped her off over his shoulder without looking as Sniper called back a real reply.
They drove for about five minutes before Sniper pulled the van over onto the side of the road, leaned over the gearshift, and kissed him full on the mouth.
“You’re absolutely bloody brilliant,” Sniper said first thing once he pulled back, eyes absolutely alight. “That was aces, you—bugger me, that was incredible!”
“I swore at your mom,” Scout groaned, face in his hands.
“You swore at my mum!” Sniper agreed, elated.
“Why are you so excited about this?!” Scout demanded.
“Because I couldn’t do it, I—I’m not any good with words, especially when I’m angry, but you were a bloody legend!” Sniper kissed him again, for a bit longer the second time, and he was still smiling when he pulled back. “Christ I love you.”
“Fuckin’—love you too,” Scout said, still confused but starting to smile a bit too. “...But like, drive. C’mon.”
“Oh, right,” Sniper murmured, putting the van into drive and pulling back onto the road.
They absolutely went to the zoo.

the father you never were
title: the father you never were fandom: Tiger and Bunny pairing: Barnaby/Kotetsu word count: 2398 summary: After Kotetsu reveals how his father treated him after his NEXT abilities manifested, Barnaby reassures him about what sort of parent he’s been to Kaede
For the March Flash fiction thirteenth prompt: Inheritance and fourteenth prompt: "Take my hand”
His beer bottle clinked softly as he set it down on the bar’s marble countertop next to his hat and Kotetsu sighed.  Antonio had just left, and while he’d mustered up a smile as he’d said goodnight to his friend, Antonio paused as he’d turned to leave, frowning slightly.
“You’re okay?” he’d asked, but Kotetsu waved him off, saying he was fine. The other hero finally turned to go, shaking his head slightly, calling over his shoulder for Kotetsu to call if he needed anything.
Antonio probably knew what was up, truth be told. He’d been around Kotetsu a significant portion of his life, and had seen those times, even when they were still teenagers, where he’d get quiet and subdued. And he’d definitely been like that today, distant, a bit lost in his own head, a bit serious and occasionally short with the others. Kotetsu had to apologize more than once for being a downer, shrugging it off when the others tried to pry that he just had a lot on his mind—and no, it was nothing to do with Barnaby, they were totally fine.
And speaking of…. A hand grasped his shoulder as Barnaby slid onto the chair next to Kotetsu. “Heavy thoughts?” he asked. Signaling the bartender for his preferred glass of wine, his partner looked him up and down. “Or a bad day?”
“How was the photoshoot?” Kotetsu asked, not even subtle about avoiding the question, but Barnaby didn’t take the hint—or more likely, wasn’t going put up with Kotetsu’s usual routine of bottling things up.
“Antonio said you were unusually solemn tonight,” He sipped at his wine and gave Kotetsu a pointed look. “And he said you’ve been off all day. Just like you were this morning before we left the apartment.”
Kotetsu raised his beer to his lips, then swirled the bottle, watching the lights above reflect off the dark glass onto the countertop below. Finally he gave it up as a lost cause. Now that they were together, Barnaby was even less inclined to let him hide instead of talking about his emotions. With a short, sharp sigh, he muttered, “It’s my dad’s birthday today. And tomorrow is the date when Mom divorced him.”
The wine glass made a delicate clink as Barnaby set it down, tilting his head to peer at Kotetsu thoughtfully. “You’ve never spoken about your father before. Was he…were, or are you not close?”
Kotetsu was going to need more beer for this. He finished off the dregs from his bottle, then nodded at the bartender for another. “Long story short,” he finally said, “I don’t know whether he’s even alive anymore. But Dad was an asshole. When I told that one kid, what was his name, Tony? The one who moved the giant statues? When I told him about being called creepy and stuff when I first got my powers?” Kotetsu’s lips gave a bitter twist. “The kids at school weren’t the first ones who did that.”
That got Barnaby’s full attention, and he turned on his chair to fully face him. “Kotetsu….”
But now that Kotetsu had started, he didn’t feel inclined to stop. “He told me I was a freak. Called me a lot of names, yelled at me whenever I’d use my powers. He never hit me, but he made me feel like shit. Sent me to my room whenever he caught me powered up, and he was livid if I ever used them when I was near Muramasa or other kids. He made me swear to never touch people when they were active. Ever. Said that all my powers were good for was hurting people.” Taking a long drink from the bottle, Kotetsu scowled at the coaster on the bar top in front of him. “Screamed at at home, bullied at school, it was great.”
Barnaby’s hand settled on his wrist and gently squeezed it. “No wonder Mr. Legend became such an inspiration to you.”
The younger man’s hand was warm against his skin, and Kotetsu took a deep breath, letting it out in a gust. “Yeah. I mean, Mom always supported me, always told me I was good, but to have someone out and out say that I could save people, not hurt them, that was…everything.” He gave a rough bark of laughter and rubbed a hand over his face. “So when Dad yelled at me I started yelling back. I’d scream at him that I was gonna be a hero and prove him wrong.”
Kotetsu shrugged, rolling his neck and leaning against the back of the chair, staring up at the ceiling. “Mom finally had enough. They’d already argued a lot when Dad first started saying those things to me, then one night their yelling got so loud you could hear it outside. Mom gave him an ultimatum, he said no, so she kicked him out. After the divorce, we never saw him again.” The chair creaked as Kotetsu sagged back against the seat. “He must’ve had to send money or something, I think Mom got some sort of support. But he never came back, not even to visit my brother. Muramasa did nothing wrong—and he was a normal human. But dad didn’t want anything to do with him any more than he did me.”
Barnaby rubbed a comforting hand carefully across Kotetsu’s shoulders. “I’m so sorry, That’s terrible, I had no idea.” He’d always been so stand-offish when they first met, but after their years as partners and as more, he’d picked up some of Kotetsu’s tendency to be more tactile, especially when offering support.
Kotetsu shrugged sharply, but he still sank into the feel of Barnaby’s touch, eventually leaning back far enough the front chair legs raised slightly. “We just eventually stopped talking about him. But sometimes I remember, and things like his birthday and stuff get me dwelling on it. It just pisses me off that like, not only does Kaede not get one of her grandfathers but I didn’t even have good stories I could tell her about him. Sorry honey, your grandad was a massive bag of crap of a person, that’s all I’ve got.”
Abruptly he tilted forward, the chairs legs thumping hollowly against the brick floor, and Kotetsu smacked the bar top with one hand. “Okay, but this is what really pisses me off. Bad enough that he treated me like shit when I was a kid, but you know what?” At Barnaby’s look, he leaned in. “Do you know how many nights I couldn’t sleep, even when Tomoe was only still pregnant and Kaede hadn’t even been born yet, how many nights I was awake all night worrying, what if I turned out like him?”
“There’s no way,” Barnaby interrupted, “absolutely no way. Kotetsu, I don’t know your father, but I know you, and you’re an amazing person and an amazing father.”
“But what if i wasn’t!” Kotetsu threw his arms into the air, nearly swatting the bar patron sitting to his left. At their cross look, he pulled into himself, slouching forward with his elbows on the bar, arms held tightly against his sides. He began peeling the label from the bottle of beer. “And anyway, whatever good I’m doing as a father, it’s only because I try to do the opposite of whatever my dad did. It’s always on my mind, how he treated me, the stuff he’d say, and I’m always thinking, don’t do that. Ever. It’s always in the back of my head, don’t be like Dad.”
He let go of the bottle, stretched out his hands, spreading his fingers wide, then turning them over. “It’s just…you don’t know what you inherit from your parents, right? You’ve got their genetics. What did you inherit from them? And what did you learn from them when they’re raising you?” Kotetsu went quiet, rested his hands on the marble, stared down at them. “Let’s be real, though. We both know I haven’t been the best dad. I’ve screwed up a lot. I’ve broken promises, I haven’t been there for her when I should have.”
“You were doing the best you could.” Barnaby’s hand was once more a solid warmth against Kotetsu’s back, and he shifted closer to him, his knees pressing against Kotetsu’s leg. “You did what you could for her, to make sure she was safe and taken care of when you couldn’t be there. She understands now, why you made the decisions you did, and why you had to be away.”
“Just because she knows my reasons now doesn’t mean it didn’t still hurt her,” Kotetsu sighed. “And doesn’t keep her from getting upset when I overcompensate and act too over the top. She called me a try-hard once.”
Barnaby rested his elbow on the bar, setting his chin in his hand and regarding Kotetsu. He smoothed his other hand up Kotetsu’s spine, stroking the back of his neck gently with his thumb. “If you’re trying too hard or going overboard, that definitely means you’re not being your father. Whatever you inherited him through nature or learned from nurture, you’re always choosing to not be like him. Kotetsu,” Barnaby shook him gently, “you’re a good father.”
“But I’ve fucked up, Bunny. So often.”
“You’ve made mistakes. And you’ve learned from them, and you try to do better.” Barnaby’s gaze at him was level and resolute. “I’ve seen you.”
“And what if i slip?” Kotetsu swallowed. “Even just once? What if I’m not careful enough and I do or say something like him?”
“You won’t. I know you,” Barnaby’s belief and faith in him was as massive and unmovable as mountains, and Kotetsu felt his throat go tight as the younger man continued, “You care for Kaede, intensely. You love her, and you constantly put her before yourself. Every. Single. Day. You’re a good dad, because of you. Not because you needed a good father to make you be that way—but because you chose to be one. Because you choose to be a good father every moment of your life.”
Barnaby straightened in his seat suddenly, blond curls bouncing with the motion, and he reached out to Kotetsu. “Take my hand.”
“Eh?”
“Come on.” He waited, palm outstretched, until Kotetsu finally placed his hand on Barnaby’s. He grasped Kotetsu’s hand firmly. “Now repeat after me: I, Kaburagi T. Kotetsu, am a good father.”
“Bunny—“
“Say it,” Barnaby demanded.
Kotetsu sighed. “I, Kaburagi T. Kotetsu, am a good father.”
“Now repeat it.”
“I, Kaburagi T. Kotetsu, am a good father.”
“Again. Say it like you really believe it. Because it’s true,” Barnaby was a force of nature, unyielding, and his eyes practically blazed.
“I, Kaburagi T. Kotetsu, am a good father.”
“Again.” Each syllable was sharp, deliberate, emphatic.
Kotetsu’s breath had gone ragged, and it felt like he was being swept away by a giant wave, only keeping his feet because of Barnaby’s tight grip on his hand. “I, Kaburagi T. Kotetsu,” his voice cracked, “am a good father.” He covered his mouth with his left hand, took a shuddering inhale.
Barnaby’s voice came softer this time, gentle. “Say it once more. Please.”
“I’m. I’m a good dad,” Kotetsu finally managed. He mumbled a curse below his breath, scrubbing at his eyes. “Bunny…”
Barnaby ran his fingers through Kotetsu’s thick hair, still holding Kotetsu’s other hand, steadying him in more ways than just the physical.  “Do you know why I’m so sure you’re a good father?” he asked, quietly. Then, at Kotetsu’s glance, “Because of what Kaede’s inherited from you. Your big heart. Your goodness, your kindness. Your drive to help others and to protect them.”  Leaning in, he kissed Kotetsu’s temple. “You hate the thought of being like your father, but she wants to be like you.”
Curling his arm over Kotetsu’s shoulders, Barnaby pulled him into a hug, and Kotetsu let him, allowed himself to be held until he calmed, the emotional upheaval subsiding. “Thanks,” he said when they eventually pulled apart, though he could feel Barnaby’s arm still tucked behind him.
“You’ve been holding that in for awhile.”
“I guess so. I didn’t realize it still bothered me that much.” Kotetsu reached for his beer, but then only ended up toying with the bottle again. He didn’t really feel like drinking more. “There’ll probably still be times I’ll worry about it though.”
“I understand.” And of anyone, he knew Barnaby did. “But talk to Kaede or to me about it. Let us support you and remind you of what you’re doing things right.  And remember,” he continued, catching Kotetsu’s eye, “Love, any type of love, happens even if we don’t think we deserve it. Even if we don’t think we want it or feel we’re good enough for it. Even if we do screw up.” His lips curved up just slightly into that small, almost hidden smile Kotetsu prized because it felt like it was just meant for the two of them. “I wonder who I learned that from?”
Kotetsu ducked and laughed quietly, feeling just a touch sheepish.
After Barnaby finished the last of his wine, he gave Kotetsu a questioning look, but Kotetsu shook his head. “Nah, i’m ready to be home.” And Barnaby did that smile again, and for the first time that day, Kotetsu found his own coming easily to his face. With a salute to the bartender, he slid from his chair and Barnaby followed suit, Kotetsu’s arm slipping into place around Barnaby’s waist and Barnaby’s settling over Kotetsu’s shoulders once more.
Maybe, HeroTV willing, he’d call Kaede tomorrow. Or even HeroTV unwilling. He’d make time.

For sure, as I (believe) mentioned before music is Luke’s way of showing that he cares (Julie with bright ect) so it would make the most sense for him to be the only one who sings it to Alex.
Oh no, I was thinking that however I’m just now picturing it in my head like the last verse is just Luke because the other boys are crying so hard and Luke is as well but he needs to finish the song because Alex has to know.
Precisely, although the band wouldn’t be the same without one of them (they literally changed band names when they added Julie) it’s hard for any of them to think that they matter as much as they do.
Yes, I think that as well although Luke never intends for it to happen he is usually either the reason why fight starts are involved in them. Mostly due to the fact that as you said he is headstrong, and while I do think that he open minded sometimes with his opinions it takes longer for him to consider the other side (Him telling Julie that she needs to get back into the music program ect).
Although with Willie for Alex we see him sometimes being able to stand up for himself I feel like when it comes to his bandmates he sometimes may not have that back bone mostly because in the back of his head he’s afraid that they will kick him out. (Not that they really did anything that Alex needs to call them out for however just in general)
Depending on which fic you’re talking about I might have read it as well, but I’ve seen theories/stories about that as well.
Honestly I keep thinking that the boys met each other rather young however I completely agree, for a few years Bobby just didn’t have a lot of friends
Sadness, I’ve also saw a comment somewhere in which someone mentioned that for the boys stuff to be in the garage it was Bobby who probably put it there and that’s upsetting. (Poor Bobby)
Just randomly he sees one of Alex’s jigsaws and their random hobbies and he burst into more tears (could possibly be were he thinks that using the songs would be a good thing)
I can just see Reggie trying to lure Alex into a wild goose case just because he’s trying to get him confused (Alex is more so concerned but just moves on) Yes, that exactly how Bobby and Luke react. Also they can’t really lie to Alex so they won’t make eye contact with him, which is how Alex is able to tell that Bobby isn’t truthful.
Exactly, that’s what I was thinking as well! Bobby looks calm however he’s able to deck someone if needed, honestly after a while people just know not to mess with him however Luke still comes as a surprise because he acts like a puppy.
Wait yes!! Reggie learned art from his grandad (also partly where his love of country music comes from but none of the boys know why he started writing country music) (Luke always tries to get him to stop writing them however whenever Reggie is feeling sad they tend to play his grandads favorite country song which is the only one that Luke will accept)
Wait yes!! I was thinking the exact same thing, I could just see him taking a picture and then painting it. Reggie just makes paintings of all of them but as Luke is the most photogenic a majority of them is of him.
Yes, comfort music and poetry (also comfort baking especially for Reggie because Alex can’t say no to Reggie even though he once requested a Han Solo cake)
Precisely! For a bit of time the boys would be concerned just because they associated Alex baking with him being stressed (even if Alex says it’s nothing if they wake up and the garage smells like someone has been baking they know). I actually remember reading this fic that basically had Alex make cookies and then give them to a random stranger (Willie) and your idea kind of reminded me of that. But yes, and Alex is such a god baker that although the boys need him to go to sleep immediately they don’t protest to the immense amount of baked goods.
Completely, Reggie doesn’t seem tired however he is so active that the boys just know. (Possibly could’ve been when he thought that fixing his amp in the rain was a good idea).
Oh wait yes, and there’s no in between either just those two and Alex is always prepared.
If Trevor and Mitch were close then it definitely would’ve been easier for Trevor to help him make the charity. (It took Emily and Mitch a bit of time to recognize where they knew Trevor from because unlike the boys they weren’t able to pinpoint him immediately)
They definitely saw the boys as their sons, (depending on the time line) when Alex ran away he went to them first and Emily was one of the first adults (soon after Bobby) who Alex came out to.
Honestly I was thinking that for a bit of time Trevor wouldn’t announce who he was however I think your theory makes a lot more sense and I prefer it. Also I do feel like they could’ve been neglectful but Sunset Curve found a family within each other so it wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been that they didn’t have the best parents.
It’s the only logical explanation that she’s Julie’s mom and if she isn’t then there has to be a reason for her character outside of a worker you know. (I’ve seen some theories where they say that Caleb is behind their murder so if that’s the direction that they take and if she’s supposed to be like a spy for his club I will rage)
Yes, basically everyone thanks Rose because she is amazing.
Honestly I have quite a bit that I expect from season two but I just really hope that they touch upon those story lines also developed and spend more time on their characters (Flynn and Willie deserved better). I’d love flashbacks like that as well, and going along with your theory kind of like in unsaid Emily as the song is continuing and all the sudden we get like a flashback scene (how they did it) that’s what they should do, if the boys sit down and tell Julie about their past.
He is such a family man, honestly if anything I just don’t really feel like they developed Trevor enough to tell what he is like as a parent however I just don’t see him as someone who doesn’t care because he had quite a few examples of not so great parents growing up, (not being supportive, neglectful, not accepting their kid and fighting in front of them jus to name a few) that he never wanted to be like them.
So I’ve been thinking about this for a bit so I’ll bring it out now, in stand tall when Carrie makes a comment before the show we see his face kind of scrunch up and I feel like season two could have a scene where he talks to her about her behavior and could possibly be how they do her redemption arc (?). Because he loves her so much, and although he may not be the best at showing it (now that he lost the boys it’s been hard for him to get close to people even his own daughter due to the fact that he’s afraid of losing them)
Exactly, it feels like they don’t care about the fact that they died. For some people it does take longer to react to things end it could just be that they’re still processing it however we get no insight to the fact that they’re even mildly thinking about it. I do think part of it is that although even has changed they still have each other and therefore they can try to get through everything that they possibly could.
Alex is such a sweetheart, and that’s exactly what he would do because he genuinely enjoyed helping people also the fact that Bobby means so much to him just made him feel like he was on cloud nine.
That’s exactly the song, The boys are so concerned and Alex and Luke at one point turns to Julie and is like that’s why I didn’t want him to know about Jar-Jar, I can’t believe he’s done this again (occasionally Reggie brings out heavy metal and no one knows why)
(So I’ve never seen Star Wars either, honestly I just said that character because he is adorable)
Tumblr media
Julie is just concerned about them in general however during this moment she’s just so confused (I feel like Carlos is a huge Star Wars fan, part of why Reggie likes him so much so due to that fact she’s also a fan) however they spend the next 20 ish minutes talking about how much the franchise has changed ect.
It would totally be their thing, and although Alex isn’t into photography as much as Reggie is, they both just love the experience and spending time together. Also they loved having Luke and Bobby there as well, surprisingly Bobby knows a lot about photography as well or at least the developing stages so if the boys are there then Reggie and Bobby usually take over doing the developing and Luke and Alex just watch.
Yes, this is how Reggie gets into lots of scrapbooking conversations (also randomly gets stickers from people) for the fact that he’s so well known for how much he loves scrapbooking.
That’s exactly how the shoot for the deme photo went. One of the photos has Reggie out of place and the boys in movement and since Reggie thought it was the last one he almost burst out into tears (they quickly discovered that there was another picture which became the cover).
Yes, Reggie just keeps giving Julie scrapbooks of Luke. (Reggie is the embarrassing mom friend that would pull out baby pictures just to spite someone)
Instagram account- yes, and his followers are sometimes confused as to how he could possibly get those pictures without being seen but they just accept it as Reggie being Reggie. For sure, Flynn and Reggie would be the best friendship duo and the photos are insane. (Luke is photogenic but Flynn is a whole level because she will gladly do a 2 hour photo shoot)
Luke would definitely let Reggie have the wrappers, and that’s precisely what Alex‘s reaction would be.
That’s what I was thinking as well, he’s just so shaky and the writing is so blurry to him because he has so many tears in his eyes and eventually he just can’t look at it anymore (that’s why the photos are not in the scrapbook but just placed inside because although he knew how much it would mean to Reggie, Bobby didn’t have the strength to make a new page)
Yes Luke would definitely wrap the gifts in tinfoil (‘I have more class than that Luke’ ‘Reggie, you wrap your gifts with newspaper’)
Everyone just takes Alex’s hoodies, even Julie.
You described that beautifully that is exactly what their relationship is.
The hoodies are essential during movie nights because Luke and Reggie have enough room to pull the hoodies over their face so they don’t have to see what’s on screen. Over time Alex isn’t scared by them however (despite seeing the film like four times) Luke let out a gigantic scream once at a film and it terrified Alex. Ah I love that you included Willie (who is the king of stealing hoodies much to Alex’s sadness) and that is exactly what would happen.
Yes, and Alex takes his job as a choreographer very seriously (honestly it’s just for entertainment because Alex is very amused) The picture that Owen posted somewhere buried in the scrapbooks there is a similar one of sunset curve in similar costumes that Luke has tried to get Reggie to burn. Also although Luke is not interested he is the best dancer and it’s very normal thing to walk into the garage and see them waltzing with each other.
I love the way that you said this and I completely agree, it’s one way that Alex and Julie bond (also she finds that picture of Luke and Alex waltzing and she forces him to teach her how to waltz)
Honestly at one point I was going to say I love how all of this started because of a jigsaw.
I’m sorry this took me so long to get to but as I predicted I’ve been writing my response for a whole hour and I’m hoping it’s worth it 😂 oh god I loved literally all of this, more under keep reading :)))
Ok so originally I started bullet pointing everything and I planned to put it all into a big thing like I did before, then I accidentally started putting more detail into the bullet points and just stuck with it 😂 the first few aren’t as detailed but it gets better the longer it goes on. That’s also why they’re all numbered lmao
1. Luke’s voice breaking as he holds the last note at the end of the song and him desperately trying to make it all the way without crying so Alex can see how much he cares
2. All of them knowing they’re like family but also constantly feeling like they’re stepping on eggshells because they’re so used to making mistakes within their own homes that they think it’ll be just as easy with all their friends
3. Interesting that you mentioned the music program - implies he always thinks that his ideas aren’t necessarily the best but they’re for the best and he struggled to change his mind to see other sides of the argument which is where the fighting started
4. Alex was usually the mediator because whenever there was a problem he would lay the facts out in his mind and sort through all outcomes to the best possible solution that would hopefully please everyone - generally everyone agreed after Alex intervened and it was rare he was involved in arguments himself
5. Totally right about Alex not standing up for himself (see “And you can’t make us either! ...Sir” to Caleb) and that’s why he was hardly ever involved; when he did argue he could actually get kind of nasty which made him feel awful
6. Yeah same I think he just seemed like a bit of a loner and let’s be real kind of intimidating despite his chill personality and the guys were the first to break down his walls
7. I’ve seen stuff like that - like it was probably him who had to identify the bodies and take their stuff back and that’s a horrible weight for a 17-y-o to bare and it makes me wonder how people can dislike Bobby based on actions and choices he made when he was grieving for his family
8. Omg he goes through each of their bags after he’s taken them back to the studio that night (not Luke’s bc Mitch and Emily have it) and he finds the tiny easy jigsaw Alex uses before shows and a half completed crossword book in Reggie’s stuff
9. Also!! Reggie does sudokus too! I kept forgetting what they were called and wanting to add them in, but sudokus!! He loves them
10. Yes lmao Reggie starts off with a really confusing lie that makes Alex asks more questions - it once ended up with the completely false story that Reggie was planning to climb Mount Everest and they weren’t telling Alex because he was afraid of heights
11. I love thinking that the boys just can’t lie to each other because we see in the show they can’t lie (high-pitched ummmm and “we were looking for the kitchen...?”) so tiny things like that are perfect I’m so in agreement
12. Exactly yes!!!! Luke is friends with everyone he speaks to until they say something that rubs him the wrong way and he just kind of explodes (unless it’s someone he’s close to)
13. YES OMG I didn’t even think of that being where Reggie’s love of country music came from but YES omg totally
14. Because I love Johnny Cash I’m claiming Reggie’s favourite country song as Ring of Fire because it’s quite upbeat and I can see him and his grandad jamming out to it in the old days - other favourites were I Walk The Line and A Boy Named Sue
15. I feel like Reggie’s art style would swing between very realistic like when he paints the boys and also kind of similar to Booboo Stewart’s art
16. Alex tried his hardest to deliver with the Han Solo cake and it definitely could have turned out worse! Reggie helped decorate because he couldn’t wait until it was finished to see the result
17. Yes omg like the boys trying to say like “you good buddy?” through huge mouthfuls of cake and the whole effect of concern being lost - Alex eventually starts baking even when he’s fine so it’s harder to tell when he’s stressed, but baking always cheers him up so they don’t mind
18. That fic sounds really sweet omg 🥺
19. Absolutely omg! It’s like the middle of the night, full-on storm outside, and Reggie just thinks “oh yeah I gotta fix my amp, no time like the present” and it didn’t go well obviously
20. Yes and now you’ve said that I kinda feel like Emily was the second person he told who took it well? Like Bobby was first, then his parents reacted badly, and then he went to Luke’s house - Emily asked if he wanted to see Luke but he kind of broke down and asked if he could talk to her instead
21. He told her everything and she was incredibly supportive - because for a while Alex wanted to keep things on the down-low Luke didn’t even know he stayed at his house that night
22. Yeah I just need more found-family 90s Sunset Curve moments along with the found-family present day Julie and the Phantoms moments 🥺
23. idk if you saw but the book confirmed that Rose is her mother!!!! It’s officially canon!!! So no worries about her being a spy for Caleb, I think Rose is way too nice for that (oops sorry if you’re avoiding book spoilers 😬)
24. Omg louder for the people in the back Flynn and Willie deserved better!!! They deserved so much more screen time, Flynn deserves her own storyline (personally I’m rooting for her to be the first to reconnect with Carrie and I’m a hardcore Flarrie shipper so that would be cool, but I’d settle for them just being friends again) and I’d love to see Willie dealing with the emotional baggage and realisations that come after Caleb’s stamp gets lifted
25. Exactly!! This!! He loves his family so much, probably blames himself a little for the boys’ death (for not going with them, even though there was nothing he could have done, or for encouraging them to go) and he doesn’t want to lose his family!
26. Omg I’ve never considered that but I love it! I want more Trevor and Carrie moments in general and him showing some good parenting by helping her be better would be totally perfect yesssss
27. Yeah I get that, like the main thing is that they have each other and as long as they have that they’ll be fine - although like you said because it takes some people longer to process it I’d love to see either Luke or Reggie start thinking about it when they realise that Julie and the others are growing up but they’ll be 17 forever
28. Ajakkffjsl YES Reggie just randomly writing heavy metal songs, either about something he hates or just. Totally for no reason other than he likes the freedom of screaming (but he doesn’t like listening to it as he doesn’t like shouting)
29. That’s Gizmo??? Omg yes oh my Lord idk what that thing is but I would die for it and so would Reggie
30. Carlos and Reggie having lightsaber fights. That’s it. All Carlos can see is a floating lightsaber but they both have the time of their lives/afterlives
31. Omg what if Bobby learnt about the developing thing bc as we’ve established Reggie is not that careful but Bobby is very gentle and it’s something you need to be gentle for so he learns it just to help Reggie
32. For most famous bands or whatever they get asked for autographs or whatever but not Reggie - he gets given stickers and people ask to take photos, then make him keep the photos and ask them to put them in his scrapbook; even though Sunset Curve were still relatively small he had a whole album dedicated to photos with fans
33. Lmao yeah they just couldn’t time it right and thankfully got the photo on the very last try - Reggie literally cried with happiness
34. Yes!! This!! Oh my god!! Whenever Luke is being particularly annoying Reggie just calls Julie over and sits her down with a photo album - the best ones are the photos of Luke stuck in weird places (idk I feel like he’d do stupid things and get stuck a lot. He once got his head stuck in a train door and instead of helping the boys just laughed at him. That happened to me one time which is why I thought of it)
35. Hell yeah Reggie’s photography account blows up, especially when Flynn starts managing it. And those two hour shoots are almost always her idea - she’ll just show up at the studio with a bunch of outfits and shout to the air “Reggie get your camera ready!”
36. Omg don’t do that to meeeee 😭 he couldn’t make himself flip through the pages and stick the photos in because he didn’t want to relive all the memories that had suddenly turned painful 😭 so he just carefully slips the photos inside and never looks at them again
37. Julie in Alex’s hoodie is possibly the greatest mental image I’ve ever had - he can’t find it, and usually it’s Luke or Reggie, and nowadays Willie tends to take it too, so Alex marches into the studio and asks which one of them has it, at which point he sees Julie huddled up in it for warmth and he just melts because she’s freaking adorable and he can’t believe how lucky he is to have her as a best friend
38. Lmaooo Reggie and Luke hiding under the hoodies is PERFECT and yes Luke is such a scaredy-cat no matter how tough he tries to act
39. Alex looks forwards to their dance sessions every time lmao and YES he got them all matching costumes and Luke despises the photos
40. Sunset Curve (and later Julie and the Phantoms) dancing with each other was not something I knew I needed in my life but I’m so glad you said it because YES
41. Kinda considering buying a custom JatP jigsaw from somewhere because now I feel like I deserve one

oh god, yearly round-up.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
side note: this is my TENTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! year of doing this!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have been on this website for OVER 10 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!! jesus christ.
ok. on a completely personal level, last year was so fucking dreadful that i remember falling asleep at my friends house on new years eve and thinking: “well, at least this year can’t be any worse”. HMMMM. in all seriousness though, despite everything, i have had a mostly decent year. i’m very lucky in lots and lots of ways. i’m lucky none of my closest family or loved ones have been effected too deeply by covid. just mild inconvenience, at most. i am lucky that i live in a house with such a large garden, so i could enjoy fresh air and family-free time if i needed to. i am lucky the weather has been mostly nice this year so i could go for plenty of walks. i’m lucky that i’m naturally a very quiet, anti-social person anyway so i haven’t felt the strain of isolation as severely as others.
most of all, this year has been boring, if anything. but there’s still been things that have made it nice. january - birthday!!! i don’t usually go hard or anything for my birthday but it stands out to me as a really lovely day. i went for a walk to one of my favourite hills with my dad & dogs during the day. in the evening, i had badminton with my friends as i used to most thursdays (INDOOR SPORTS?!?!?!!? REMEMBER INDOORS SPORTS?!?!!?!?!) and then, as per our tradition, i went back to their flat for take-away chips and halloumi burgers. because they are so unbelievably generous and lovely, my friends bought me a new badminton racket for my birthday. i feel like i’ve barely got a chance to use this year, for obvious reasons, but i can’t wait to use it so much more as soon as possible. the following day, i went to work as normal but then went out to a really nice italian place with my family for a meal and we did birthday cake & candles when we got home. feeling stupidly grateful for so many thoughtful people in my life. february - again, this year has been so dry that a trip to the cinema could be considered a high point. but it was my only cinema trip of the year and just a really nice day. me & my friend saw jojo rabbit (which was great, if you haven’t seen it already) and afterwards we ambled around town looking at things in shops. it sounds so simple but i haven’t done any of that stuff since really, so it feels so exciting and exotic when i think back on it.
february - stayed at my grandma’s house for the weekend. we do that as often as we can, usually, and it’s always nice. but - obviously - we haven’t been able to see my grandma much at all this year. it was nice to sit in front of the fire with her and watch tv and be given access to all sorts of baked goods and walk up the hills around by her. on the sunday, we managed to pop-in on my nana & grandad too and eat many baked goods there too.
march - meal out for my brother’s birthday. i feel like a lot of my “special days” this year revolved around someone’s birthday this year. but i think this was our last day of ‘normalcy’ before things went a bit crazy here. my family went to a caribbean pub with my brother and his gf and we had lovely tasty food and a nice night out. i think that was the last day i wore anything other than pyjamas or leggings for a long time.
april - no joke, i remember going to the vets during the peak of lockdown when the whole country was essentially shut down and it felt like THE most exciting day of my life. my cat was fine (she’d been bitten and needed painkillers for an infection but she was absolutely fine!) but i remember being near giddy in the car. my sister came with us too even though she didn’t need to because of how exciting it felt.
may - my brother’s birthday. the other one. the first of our lockdown birthdays. we popped in to drop a card off at a friend’s who shares the same birthday as him. then we drove (DROVE! IN A CAR!) to a stretch of really lovely canal that my brother likes to walk on and had a great walk. in the evening, we ordered in an indian take-away and my sister had made a FAT four-tiered chocolate cake to celebrate.
may - ok this is very dumb but i finished breaking bad this year and i set aside a special date to watch el camino. i made a very sickly millionaire’s cheesecake and my whole family gathered round the tv to eat and re/watch el camino. it’s so dumb and silly but i was so excited, it felt like a special cinematic event. i cried.
june - my dad’s birthday. my dad, my brother & me (plus dogs) drove out of the county (rogue fugitives!!!!!!) to meet my grandad for a socially distanced chat and picnic. it was a bit weird not being able to hug him and sitting on separate benches but it was still great to see him. we had a takeaway chinese for dinner and a chocolate cake for dessert.
july - my sister’s birthday. we technically celebrated it 4 days earlier because she had to move into her new flat but we had a nice indian take-away and another bloody chocolate birthday cake.
july - my mom’s birthday. i honestly cannot remember what we ate - i think we had homemade pizzas in the garden??? it’s weird when food dictates the differences between days. anyway, i definitely made another birthday cake.
july - went for a socially distanced walk with a friend i haven’t seen in ages. it was lovely and the weather was very kind to us and it was great to go walking across fields and to a reservoir i hadn’t been to in years and years.
august - my brother got his GCSE results and we ate pizza in the garden to celebrate. after the monumental government fuck-up with results, we were a bit nervous about how badly they’d ruin his chances but he did very well.
september - went to visit my grandma. she had been living by herself for the entirity of the pandemic (she doesn’t mind, she’s loves to garden and she does online latin and pilates classes, she’s a very busy lady) but i think she enjoyed seeing us. we were plied full of food once again. we went for a lovely evening ramble on the hills right by her house. on the sunday, my dad went for a walk with a friend he hasn’t seen in ages while me, my brother and my grandma went for another hill walk elsewhere. i think my grandma really enjoyed that because she hasn’t been able to go walking much because she was so anxious about tripping and being completely alone, or being rescued by someone carrying The Virus. so it was nice to accompany her. after that, we had a nice socially distanced meeting with my grandparents in their garden. it felt very risky to me because i am insanely anxious but my grandma, my grandad and my nana are all very safe and healthy.
october - halloween!!! i never celebrate halloween BUT this year, i was so sick of being the house every single day i decided to organise something different. so in the evening, me, my dad & my brother went for a halloween walk in the countryside through a graveyard, then through a field where there used to be an old abonnonded saxon village, and then finally through hagley wood where bella of wych elm was found. my dad & my brother were completely uneffected but i was absolutely shitting myself at every tiny little thing. my dogs had their little flashing colours on and we all had torches but i was still so pathetically spooked by everything. after the walk, we met my mom in the car (i had to get changed in the car from my walking stuff to vaguely presentable clothes) then we went to a goddamn PUB!!!!!!!!! to eat a meal!!!!!!!!!!! i went a bit overboard making my family santise their hands every 5 minutes but we definitely had a lovely meal.
november - did a bonfire in the garden for bonfire night. ate homemade vegan chilli and then apple crumble. it was freezing cold and we tried to stay out there for as long as we could. i even managed to find some sparklers and me & my brother waltzed around the garden with them, likesay we’re not an adult and a child-grown. the others melted marshmallows on the fire and i just enjoyed watching the fireworks i could see and throwing balls for the dogs.
november - we’re brits lmao but when joe biden’s presidency was finally confirmed, we celebrated with an indonesian take-away because fuck it!!!!!!!! gotta celebrate where we could this year!!!!!!!!!!
december - christmas!!!!!!!!!!!! we usually have christmas every year at my grandma’s house with my aunt and her boyfriend. it’s a fairly decent sized house out in the countryside and she has a wood-burning fire and it just Feels more christmassy there, especially as i’ve literally only ever spent one single christmas at home before. but we still managed to make it very special this year i think. my sister came on the 13th and we got quickly into a routine of watching christmas films in the evening. on christmas eve, i made vegan gingerbread biscuits and vegan mince pies and my sister made a chocolate yule log cake and then we watched a film. on christmas morning, we all opened our presents in our own living room which felt weird but was still lovely. afterwards, we went for a family walk. my mom pretty much single-handedly (me & my sister helped) cooked a whole christmas dinner for the 6 of us with all the trimmings. usually it’s my grandma, my aunt and my mom but the fact my mom managed to cook such a goddamn feast with our shitty oven where the grill doesn’t work and you have to slam the oven door at least 5 times before it shuts.......... i’m convinced she Might be superwoman?!?!!?!? and it was SO good. in the evening, we had cheese & crackers and my sister’s tasty yule log and we watched many a film. boxing day was much the same but still nice. this whole stretch between christmas and new years day is usually painfully boring but this year has been good, i think. i have consumed an entire army’s worth of cheese and chocolate and i have definitely enjoyed the snow we’ve had here recently.
so. yeah. this is very basic and boring. none of these things would usually end up in my write-up of the year. but i haven’t been to a single concert or theatre trip or even really left the midlands at all. in my round-up last year, i wrote some stupid sentimental bullshit about romanticising “the most basic and boring aspects of life” and never has that been so apt. on the face of it, this year has been SO boring. but i’ve managed to make it enjoyable in the tiniest ways.
for example, i enjoyed every single sunny day. i would jump on the trampoline and listen to podcasts. i would go running and listen to podcasts. i would go walking and listen to podcasts. i owe a lot to podcasts, i think. but i definitively owe a LOTTTTT to walking. i walk for a living (i’m a dog-walker lmao) but i would still go out for walks with my own dogs in the evening or go out for walks with my dad in the morning where i could. if we thought we made good use of the pizza oven last year, this year has been insane. i have made and cooked SO! MANY! pizzas this year and they were all excellent. i feel like food has been really important this year. like i said, it helps distinguish the days, especially “special” or “treat” foods. like everyone i have done a lottt of baking this year. especially when it’s been such a great year for fruit!!! there’s a field near me and there’s just simply shit loads of blackberries and raspberries that grow there. i remember one evening sat in the garden eating some mango sorbet my sister made with some raspberries i picked from the field and thinking that life simply does not get better than that. idk. it’s nice to take pleasure in the smallest things i think.
but, like i said, i have been so lucky this year. i was only off work temporarily and none of my immediate circle have been directly impacted by the effects of covid. as annoying as they are, i’m very lucky to have spent so much time with my family - as opposed to be being by myself - because it’s nice when we make food for each other and watch tv and films together or go for walks together.
god. this is long and waffley. if you read all this: what the fuck is wrong with you? but also: thank you! i know 2021 is definitely going to start off rocky but i strongly believe - and i’m a massive pessimist - that things are going to get better.  love and strength to everyone. wishing you peace and comfort x
(again: i cannot believe i have been writing up this silly little incoherent things for a decade!!! sometimes i like to go back and read the earlier ones and remind myself of old fun times and cringe at teenage me. here’s to... 10 more years??? hahahahaha. anyway:here’s the other 9 years of nonsense: 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, and, finally, 2011.)

Preferred Exerpts: DREAMS - CH.5  - STRANGE
Tumblr media
Have I ever mentioned how much  love Wong and Steven’s relationship?
Chapter Five was actually my first time reaching for Wong at all past a brief mention, but I enjoyed it tons, and that section in particular; with the bonus chapters to preceding chapters filing in after. I knew Strange would have a pretty important role in Mixology early on. And why wouldn’t he, when the first time the multiverse and alternate realities and dimensions was thrown unashamedly in our faces with his appearance?
Doctor Strange is by far one of my favorite films out of the MCU, as well as the one I feared most for before it finally hit theaters and I got to see it, because I -was- a comics fan familiar with the crazy content they would or at the time could be touching: and was earnestly scared for them just being aware of the fact that if the formula had been the slightest bit off it would have been a terrible failure.
I kept away from teasers and trailers for that reason; but couldn’t keep from the art and promo pics.. which kept my hope up especially seeing an actor I was familiar with and excited to see (Cumberbatch) in the main role.
Don’t think I have to say it did way better than not disappointing. Enough that when it was available for purchase, I bought it instantly and regardless of the fact that it (irresponsible me) put me short on my phone bill due that same week to watch it about a half dozen times in just the first few days that followed.
Anyways! I ended that bit happy with the whole section? But I think out of it all this portion is probably my favorite for a lot of reasons; some of which touch on examples of Wong’s statement just after he reveals the Time stone for what it was..
“ You might have a gift for the mystic arts, but you still have much to learn. “
Enjoy!
                ~----LK aka blind
-------------------------------=================
“ The Ancient One. It was a common, oft repeated lecture.. Why are you looking at me like that? “  Was it, now.
“ Because I never heard it from  her . “ Pulled a very confused look from Wong as he picked up the Eye of Agamotto and opened it, examining the inside. “ I heard it from  Loki . It was a part of yesterday’s courtesy broadcast. The one they were listening to during the call, to ask them why he was in rural Missouri, instead of being kept under watch at the Crater. “ He turned it around, after looking through the inside. “ ..where the  hell,  is this stick. “
   “ What? “
“ The macula; is the portion of the human eye at the center of the retina that processes sharp, clear, straight-ahead vision. A little indention at the inner back side of your eyeb-- “  What was that?  Wong opened his mouth, and Strange held up a finger; before tapping it at the back side. He flipped it over again, trying the same tap at the inside from the other direction. “ Has anyone ever taken this thing apart? “
“  Stephen.  The Eye of Agamotto is  thousands  of years  old. It belonged to the Master who created our order, and the Sanctums; making it much more than a  pretty box  for a cosmic  glow-rock.  No.  We did not, and hopefully  will not ever  take it apart. “
“ Sorry but uh; did you just look at me, and basically say ... never?  “ Hand raised.  Crack, and:  ping-ping .
Wong closed his eyes at the ceiling with the expected look of agitation and intense exasperation, for all of maybe a second or two; when he finally realized there had been two tones to that back shiny panel coming off. Not one.  Yeah , he had just broken open a thousands of years old rock-locket and symbol belonging to the Masters of the Mystic Arts for  ages  and  generations  before even his great great grandad had been a sparkle in  his  daddy’s eyes. But  hey  , and “ Oh  gee , look. “ He held up the weird looking little polished flat stick with metal bits on either end: one a strange molded square hook thing, the other a loop on the end. “  There’s  the stick in our eye. See? “ was met with a sigh, before he turned it over. And over. “ O~kay. The hell kind of stick is this, Wong? Some kind of mini-wand, or funky faery poker.. What am I looking at here? “
It was Wong’s turn to rub his eyes, apparently. Doing a good job of it too. Steady fingers, dug right in there under his eyebrows.  Show off.  “ That isn’t a stick. It’s a key. “
   “ A  key?  Doesn’t look like a key.. “
“ Maybe not to a westerner. But here in the  east? This what old keys look like. “  Wow. He totally could not help the look of disbelief on that one.
“ O kay.  Note to self;  never  hire an ancient asian locksmith, Stephen.  What?  It’s a stick Wong. With a  hook  on it. “ Nasty look. Temptation to screw with him a little, rising. “  Okay, okay; two hooks. This could be stuck in the right end of a tiny  popsicle, and no one would  ever know  . My mom? Had a bag  full  of these in tupperware, stuffed into the side of her silver drawer next to the fridge when I was a kid. “
That was true though. “ Used to fill them with kool-aid, and just; plunk ‘em right in. Freezer for a few hours.. done deal. “ He couldn’t think of a damned thing off hand that this fit though. “ ..any ideas? “
“ Besides that it’s  a key, and not something you should be putting in your mouth unless it works some form of  silencing magic?  No. “
“ That one wasn’t bad. “ as he tapped the back in place as best he could and put the Eye back into its mount. And, we’re ignoring the fact that panel fell off as soon as he was around the pedestal.  Will fix later. Maybe. Probably, if I don’t want Wong hovering over me for the next ever giving me the stink eye.  “ Right. So.. ‘Beyonce never moves; always stays in the same place.’ Think we got that one but, we’ll see. ‘A stick in the macula.’ “ he hopped the boozy-pop handle between his knuckles as he thought mostly out loud. “  All that’s left is ‘Say hello to Mister Carroll.’ “
“ You’re forgetting the horse. “ made him shake his head. He knew exactly what that was. Who, that was. “ Nope. I know that one. Don’t know that it’s great advice I’m giving me, but we’ll just have to find out. “
“ Care to share? “
“ Soon enough. Do we have any Carrolls, among the new recruits? “
   “ No, definitely not. “
   “ ..that was fast. “
“ Stephen.  Mystic Arts. Not, a  pottery  class. There are  seven. None of them are named Caroll. “
