i kinda like to think in a fanficky way that merlin told gwen about his magic considerably early. and she was decently chill about it. from "uh. okay. i won't tell but ah. what." to "you're still the same person and i care about you i'll help you in whatever way you need" to "this is so fucking funny use your magic to mess with arthur" over the course of about six hours. and so when morgana starts having her nightmares she's like "... SO I HAVE A FRIEND" and merlin's like "you mean you" and gwen goes "whatever you need to believe. i think she's got magic but she doesn't know i'm basing this purely on Vibes" and merlin's like "i'm not an expert just a user but yeah" and gwen supports morgana and tries to help her and through this deep personal time together they fall in love. and maybe morgana loses it a little but mainly attacks uther bc fuck him.
