I don't ship Phoenix and Maya and never have, but I think it's crazy for anyone to suggest they aren't each other's best friend in the world. Like there are so many different forms of love, none more important than the other, and the love that Phoenix and Maya have as each other's best friend and confidant is very, very real. They are not lovers, they are not siblings, but they ARE best friends and I think that should be appreciated for the gem it is.

When Slade tries to threaten him? Well, sure. Okay, he can play along. He’s got his gimmick with the titans right now and Bruce isn’t here to lecture him on morals. So, bring it, old man! And Slade? Totally convinced he scared the kid into submission? He’s in for a nasty surprise, because he was expecting an angry, terrified kid who was gonna fight him every step of the way. Someone he’d have fun breaking and molding into his version of a good soldier.

He’s not prepared for Dick “several rows of teeth” Grayson, for Robin “you should really work on leaving so many loopholes in your instructions” sidekick to Batman, for Richard “I am about to make you regret the day your mom and dad had their first kiss” Grayson-Wayne.

And Slade does. He regrets it so, so much. By day seven he’s ready to throw in the towel when he once again wakes up in the middle of a swamp with Robin splashing through the murky waters like it’s a day at the beach, animatedly talking to a something that looks like an alligator but has way too many eyes and feathers to be one.

Kratos was as stoic as ever to the untrained eye, but if you looked closer, you could barely see the tightening of his jaw, the small twitch of his eye, or the way his muscles hardly tensed. His cold eyes held the smallest amount of helplessness like Mimir’s as he dragged the screaming boy behind him.

Atreus though is the one who stole the show. Fat tears ran down his face, snot dripped from his nose and his face was a bright cherry red as he uselessly kicked his legs behind him. He clawed at his father’s tight hold on his wrist and let out a scream like sob as he struggled behind the man.

“NO! Nooohhooh. I-I don’t want one! Please” Atreus screamed, his shrill shriek making Mimir wince. Kratos refused to acknowledge the boy as he approached Brok and Sindri, leaving Atreus to bawl his little soul out behind the men.

I I fucking aggressively love this fic it is just so funny and so beautiful at the end I can’t stop re reading it.

I have a wip on the ending bc I love it, my only issue is I’m losing motivation on it, but at the same time, I could post like a very rushed/sketchy version of it, but idk, a any thoughts anyone????? Idk 🤷

thanks for your kind words about those of us coming out later in life - I'm in my mid-50s, had one of those pandemic solitude trans awakenings, and hope to be starting T this month. In my case I had *not* always known, but once the shoe dropped it just felt right. I still have doubts and worries and struggles changing my own labels for myself especially after so many years, but it really does feel good to move forward in this new direction.

People like you are so inspirational. Older people who come out, or transition, or live as themselves, I think, truly show us young'uns that there isn't a "right" age to live life by. It's really beautiful to see people who are discovering who they are at every age - young and old!

And if I'm honest? I think it takes us all time to get used to how it feels changing our language for ourselves - like I, arguably, got used to how disassociated I felt with the language I was expected to use for myself, and once I discovered what I liked, it was weird. Sometimes it's weird to feel happy or even not bad about this sort of stuff. You definitely are not the only one, I promise! So proud of you, and so proud to share a community with you!
