i think something people forget about pink diamond is that she had compassion for life long before she went to earth
the pebbles assume steven is pink not because of his gem or aura but just because he says ‘hello’ and ‘thank you’ to them, a basic common courtesy that nobody else has given them in thousands of years
in steven’s pink visions, blue is yelling at pink about the little bugs she let loose on homeworld. when one of them is found in her cell, she is quick to check it’s okay before helping it out of the room. even before encountering humans she valued organic life.
even the garden, the setting of pink’s cruellest moment, is proof of her care for organic life. Unlike every other part of homeworld, the garden is teeming with plant-life, which was kept healthy enough that it continued to grow even after pink abandoned it. the only other homeworld structure that tends to organic life is the human zoo. who’s to say the garden wasn’t another attempt by the other diamonds to placate pink after she expressed concern for the life on one of their colonies? or maybe pink picked the plants herself from the many different colonies she visited and grew them there.
pink wasn’t perfect. she had a bad habit of acting on her emotions and impulses without considering the consequences of her actions, and she hurt a lot of people because of it. but she considered all life precious and worth protecting, it just wasn’t until she had a colony of her own that she fully understood that the expansion of homeworld was intrinsically linked to the destruction of life, and the moment she realised that is the moment she stood against it.
#steven universe#su pink diamond#this post is almost 5 years too late lol#like padparadscha by the time my thoughts have found their way from my brain to my mouth the moment is long gone#but a hot take is a hot take even if it’s been in a slow cooker#i just think people are sleeping on the pebbles and the scene with the little rainbow catipillar#there always seemed to be a sentiment that pink was an inherently cruel person and that she didn’t care about anything before earth?#and that her care for life was either superficial or out of left field#but something my brain keeps rotating round is that she was always like this she always cared for other life forms but never took them#seriously. she always cared about them but never really paid close attention to how they were. and it was something she learnt off of the#other diamonds who treated her exactly the same as she treated everybody else. they loved her but they didn’t understand her and they#never made an effort to change that. and they never thought about how their actions made her feel or whether she was responding to their#own outbursts and emotions. and she never considered how her actions would make other people feel.#she didn’t think how her screaming would hurt volleyball until it happened. she didn’t consider how all-encompassing her orders to spinel#and pearl and potentially garnet were. she didn’t think about how spinel would be hurt by being left behind and quite frankly i do think#she completely forgot spinel existed once she became preoccupied with saving earth which is horrible but also makes total sense for her#character who from creation was taught that other gems were worth less than her and that they existed only to serve her or her fellow#diamonds; and as somebody who was used to the concept of being left behind and abandoned whenever the people she cared about got bored#or annoyed with her. it hurts but it’s a part of life to her. what she didn’t consider js that her words are law and she left spinel with#no free-will. she left pearl physically unable to share important information and solve the problems she left behind.#and she doesn’t consider how her death will make others feel - she doesn’t think the diamonds will care that she dies but they do and they#murder all of her friends except for two. she thinks the crystal gems will be fine without her if she says goodbye to become steven but#they aren’t and a good portion of the show is about the gems grief and how it creates an unstable environment for steven to grow up in#consistently pink diamond was taught her feelings didn’t matter and was made to feel nobody cared about her if they weren’t compelled to#and that compiled with the privileged position she was formed into made her an insecure spoiled brat who had no comprehension that her#choices could hurt people around her#did she ever even consider that the diamonds were grieving her? or did she think it was just another action of violence to exert control?#i don’t think i’ll ever be over pink diamond#funnily enough steven has a similar problem e.g. sadie’s talent show and when connie was upset he gave himself up to homeworld#but that’s a discussion for when i’m not at tag limit lol

I’m going to need someone to love me like the fictional lando i write abt 24/7
We Can Be Kids For Right Now (LN4)
Summary: When her week has tried to suffocate her, Lando turns up at her door and forces her to remember just how worthy she truly is.
Warnings: mentions of heavy anxiety attacks, anxiety in general, language
Note: a draft bc im wrecked rn from this trip im on im so tried lol… I hate that I have to start saying this but I do not condone the reposting of my work without proper crediting or permission. If you wish to post my works elsewhere, it needs to be ran by me first by messages over Tumblr. Y/n never truly realized she did it until Lando, but when the man started to get close to her, he brought it to her attention that she so easily isolated herself when she started struggling. Even the smallest inconvenience and she shut down, something that irritated the hell out of Lando. Nevertheless, he loved her and the way she dealt with her emotions was something he knew she just needed to work on.
However, the problem they couldn’t get past was her ability to tell him when she was struggling. There were only so many times when he could see it written all over her face.
His comments urging her to open up to him when she was having a hard time dealing with it on her own bounced around in her head as she clutched her phone in her hands, his contact picture brightening her screen. His smile beamed back at her, almost coaxing her into tapping the call button, but her thumb hesitated. It wasn’t that she was afraid of telling him, it was that she was uncomfortable with her own emotions. Uncomfortable of leaning into them. Growing up, she was never given that ability, her parents not having the full capacity to address them head on. She never thought it truly affected her until Lando. She started realizing that he never gave her a problem to be scared, but she still was.
Her thumb had a mind of its own, though. Thankfully. And the ringing tone met her ears before she could even know what was happening. His picking up happened before she could even begin to think about hanging up the phone.
“Baby!” His cheery voice rang through the quiet room and warmed her tender heart. “What’s up? Why are you up so late? Do you want a sweet treat again?” He giggled, his TV pausing in the background.
She was silent. Her mind raced as she tried to make the split second decision of telling him or not. Though, in her silence, he began formulating an answer.
“Y/n…” He whispered, blankets rustling as she imagined him sitting up on his couch.
“Lan,” She said brokenly, albeit with an effort of trying to sound strong.
Keys rustling and his rushed, “I’m on my way, baby,” were her response.
Lando knew where the spare key was. It was one of the first things he asked the location of after they first said I love you. Y/n would always laugh at that memory. What she was expecting after the three words were shared was a small kiss or a hug maybe, but no, he had asked her where her spare key was. When she showed him and he very clearly took a mental note of it, she asked him what was so important about it.
“I’m your boyfriend and we’re in love. I should know where the spare key is, baby.” He had said to her so nonchalantly, as if it was societally normal to have that thought process. She just shook her head at him and took the kiss she wanted for herself. He wasn’t going to do it anyway, too entranced in the image of her spare key under her doormat. He was shenanigans bundled into one person. She loved it.
His rapping on the door pulled her from her memories. She drudged over, taking a deep breath before opening the door. He stood there in his pajamas, puffer coat thrown over haphazardly, and stared at her sympathetically. He shuffled in, arm rounding around her shoulders as he kissed her head, “Hard day?”
She sighed, “Hard week.”
He led her to the couch. The layout of her apartment was memorized in his head. “What happened?”
“I just-” She picked at her fingernails and the anxiety she usually felt when Lando asked about her worries began bubbling up. Maybe it was growth, but she thought he’s already here, isn’t he? Might as well lean on him.
So, she did. Literally and figuratively.
Lando squeezed her body as her side laid on his and she started reliving the low moments of the past few days. “Everything has gone wrong this week. I just can’t seem to win and I can’t make anyone happy.”
Tears filled her eyes and a frown appeared on her face. She cried into his shoulder when he pushed her body further into it.
Lando sat with her for a moment, rubbing her back. “That’s not true, Y/n. You make a lot of people happy. You make me really happy.”
For some reason, his comment shot fear through her body and she pulled from him. Her eyes looked anywhere other than his and the irrational idea of an expectation Lando had set for her that she did not believe in herself to meet took control of whatever plan she had to open up to him.
Lando saw it in her eyes, how distant they got. He knew this was bound to happen. It had been too easy. She had opened up to him without that much restraint and he expected a moment to come where her walls rebuilt themselves.
He just wanted her to let him in.
His hands took her face, “You deserve me. You will not let me down. You could never let me down.” He said, knowing exactly what was running through her mind.
“Y/n, look at me.” He tilted his head to meet her eyes and forced her to keep his stare, “I love you. That will never change.”
She cried harder, “I can’t even open up to you, Lan. I’m not even a good employee at a job I’m overqualified for. Yesterday, I handed in that presentation to my boss that I had been working on for weeks and when I presented it to the board of all fucking people, there was a grammatical error on one of the slides. I had confused ‘your’ and ‘you are’, Lan. It was embarrassing. They laughed and joked about it after. I can’t even fucking do my job. And I upset my mum on Wednesday. I hung up on her during an argument and now she isn’t talking to me. I’m being condemned, Lan. I can’t fucking breathe. My dad’s texting me, telling me how disrespectful I had been, but nobody hears about the parts where she called me an irresponsible adult and ridiculed me for taking a job that didn’t make me that much. Nobody wants to hear my side of the story, the part where she was so grossly unsupportive. Then, I had to cancel on Cameron on Tuesday again because I’m so fucking tired and so fucking busy. She got mad at me and now we’re in this fight because I’ve neglected our friendship. I’m a shit friend, a shit daughter, a shit worker, and it’s so obvious I’m a shit girlfriend. I can’t fucking do anything right.”
By the end of her rant, she was breathless and Lando could see she was talking herself into an anxiety attack. Her hurtful words toward herself needed to be dealt with, but he needed to stop the panic seeping into her skin.
He took her hand and kissed her head, “Come with me, my love.”
She kept crying as he led her to his car, his arm wrapped around her body securely as he whispered words of reassurance in her ear. He reminded her of how strong she was, of how much he loved her and admired her for everything she was. How wrong she was about everything she had convinced herself of.
When he softly laid her in the passenger seat, he kneeled down and kissed her shoulder, brushing her hair off the skin lightly. He looked up at her with deep green eyes filled with safety, “Don’t listen to your mind right now, baby. It’s only telling you lies.”
He lightly closed the door, running around the car to slip into the driver’s seat. When he turned the engine on, his hand settled on her thigh and began rubbing softly. He backed down and drove down the road, toward a small park at the end of her street. It was quick, maybe a minute or two, and Y/n was still crying when they parked, but it subsided momentarily when she saw where they were.
“Why are we at the park?” Lando grabbed her hand and kissed the knuckles.
He laid his cheek down on the back of her palm, murmuring, “Because it’ll be fun to be kids for right now. Not have to think about what you’re going through. We can address that later.”
A sigh of relief left her chest. The moment he had given her an opportunity to run away from it all, even for a few minutes, she almost began to feel as though she would find peace.
He always knew exactly what to do.
She gathered herself, wiping away the tears and smoothing down her hair as Lando walked back to her door, opening it and offering his hand as help for her to get out of the car. She took it. She always would. The cold air hit her body and she shivered. Lando was immediate in offering her his coat.
She shook her head, “No, I’m okay for right now.” She was just now realizing how she hadn’t gone outside in days. The cold air made her feel alive again.
Lando’s hand continued to clutch hers as they took steps toward the large structure. When she let go of his, he tensed, but he relaxed when he saw her wandering over to the slides.
She climbed up the ladder, him following behind, and found herself sat in the entryway of the whirling slide.
“Wait, wait!” Lando yelped before she could push herself down. Her head whipped around to meet his eyes.
She smiled and her body warmed when his found a seat behind her, his body consuming her and his hands wrapping around the low point of her waist. His ear right beside her ear, he kissed the top of the skin, “Now, you can go. We can go down faster, no? Seeing as I go fast for a living.”
His questionable logic made her laugh before he was pushing them off and the two were turning fast around the corner of the yellow tube. Her giggling ensued with the way he jostled them around on purpose to make the slide more exhilarating for two twenty-four year olds. And in the heat of the moment, seeing her hair float in the air and a carefree smile on her face, Lando wished she could see herself the way he did. She was superb, unbelievable. She held the strength and courage of someone so commendable. She was kind even when she had seen things and experienced trauma so young that should’ve, understandably so, made her bitter. She was merciful even when she shouldn’t be and she loved Lando in a way he had only ever dreamed of. The way she treated him, the gentleness she approached him with, was something he knew he could never let go of. She was beautiful in so many other ways than just her appearance. She was deeply beautiful and he wished she could just understand that.
When they reached the end, their bodies stopping abruptly right at the edge, Y/n laid her head back against his shoulder. He kissed her temple, “Fun?”
She nodded with a smile, “Somehow, you did make it faster.”
He shot her a look, as if to question why she didn’t believe him in the first place. He pushed her off him, sprinting to the swings and screaming for her to follow him.
“Lando! Be quiet! You’ll wake up the entire neighborhood!” She whisper-yelled at him, laughing as she ran after him.
He threw himself in the seat and began swinging his legs, no doubt gaining momentum but beckoning her over for help nonetheless.
She stood behind him, bracing herself firmly on the ground as she pushed his heavy body up off the ground. When he would meet her back on the ground, he’d lean back so his back would almost come crashing into her front. It made her laugh.
“Lando!” He couldn’t see her, but he knew how radiant she must’ve been looking. Even in his head, he continued to fall in love with her.
She kept pushing him until her arms got tired and she flopped away from him, onto the ground, in a heap of heavy breaths. When he didn’t feel her small hands on his back anymore, he jumped off the swing and joined her on the ground.
It didn’t matter how cold it was or how dirty it inevitably was, they were together and Y/n’s smile lingered on her pretty face.
Lando’s hand laced with hers in between their bodies as he softly whispered, “You’re not a shit daughter, your parents don’t know what they have and they’re too emotionally immature to realize that. You’re not a shit friend, Cameron knows that, you’re just struggling and that’s okay. You’re not a shit worker, you’re actually heavily valuable to your boss and the people around you. They’ve all told you that. And Y/n, look at me,” She turned her head to meet his meaningful ones, “You are not a shit girlfriend. You are the complete opposite. You are everything I’ve ever wanted and could ever ask for. You have no idea how in love with you I am. It’s even hard for me to understand sometimes. There is no one I have ever loved, love, or will love more than you. You are the most important thing to me, so please stop talking about yourself in this way and believing in something that has never been true.”
Everything about the moment is gentle. From the way his thumb caressed her skin to the enunciation of every word that came from his mouth, he made it clear how much love prospers for her within him every day and every minute.
She turned on her side and took his cheek in her hand, “Thank you for helping me, Lan.”
His hand squeezed her waist, “Of course, my love. You’re my favorite.”
She felt her heart blush, if that’s even possible. Maybe her face was the one blushing? She didn’t know. The way Lando looked at her as if she started life itself made her mind feel fuzzy.
Fuzzy enough to realize he was right. She wasn’t a failure or a horrible person. She was a human who made mistakes and many people loved her in spite of it. Lando being one of them.
He loved her in a way she had always craved. She both needed and wanted him. So did he. They were the beginning and end of everything for the other. It showed well that night as they held each other on the concrete of that park. It showed well because, at one am on a random Saturday, Lando had dropped everything he has doing the moment he heard the anguish in her voice. It showed well because Lando’s clear words made Y/n realize he wanted her and no one else. There was no one else like her, no one to ever replace her. Not that he would ever want that anyway. She was completely unique in the most precious way and maybe… just maybe… she was beginning to realize that too.

The first time Kara Danvers touched Lena Luthor was seared on her memory. Lena had offered her hand in the usual way and Kara took it, but it was no ordinary handshake. Her grip was firm, but not controlling, and her flesh was warm, almost feverish. The handshake was like Kara herself- bold and brash at first, then softening, letting Lena take the lead almost with a sense of relief.
(Later, in a darkened room with an empty whisky bottle by her head and a broken picture frame clutched to her chest, Lena would realize that had *not* been the first time that Kara had touched her; the first time was to save her, rescue her, protect her, to bend steel one moment and reassure a terrified woman the next, and that first touch had set a tone for the others, a surpassing tenderness she didn’t deserve)
The next touch she remembered was Kara gently tapping her shoulder on a restaurant terrace. Lena had tensed at the brush of fingers on her shoulder, looking up sharply with a stabbing fear in her gut- it was the first time she’d dined out casually and publicly since her brother committed a literal crime against humanity. She wouldn’t dare do something so ordinary in Metropolis; she’d be lucky if there were only protesters with signs as she was leaving. Only when she arrived in National City did she let her guard down, both literally and figuratively. Kara’s impossibly soft fingers on her bare shoulder jolted her from her reading and she felt that spike of terror for just a moment before she met a pretty smile and those lovely, strangely haunted blue eyes greeting her.
Lena had built walls of steel and stone and pain and the woman who came from the sky took them apart touch by touch, not with fists but with back-pats and handshakes and hugs until there was nothing left but a bare soul, exposed and raw like a frayed nerve, with only Kara to protect it.
The next time it happened was at a gala. It wasn’t an important one and Kara was frankly bullshitting Lena by asking her to tag along to “report” on the goings-on. Lena knew it would be painfully boring for Kara because it was painfully boring for her.
That was what she thought, anyway, until Kara, bold sweet Kara, rested a guiding hand on the small of Lena’s back and lit up every nerve in ending in her body like a Christmas tree, as she defensively stood proud next to Lena, towering over her and the randy city councilman both. She wouldn’t know until later, much later, why Kara had seemed so much more herself, more true, in that moment.
After that was one of the most painful nights in her life. Lena had always known she was trash, that she was nothing but one of Lionel Luthor’s by-blows; sometimes she could hear Lilian at the funeral, snarling at her that she only existed because her father was a second too late to waste her on her mother’s thigh where she belonged. The world didn’t care about her hospital or her charity work or the effort she’d put into making her company a positive force in the world. Someone told them she poisoned the children and the goodwill was gone in a puff of smoke like the thin, gossamer thing it had been. Once a Luthor, always a Luthor.
Then Kara was there, a living, loving fortress of bone and muscle and love, wrapping Lena so tightly in a shield of pure compassion that she could have survived anything, that even as the tears fell she knew that she could live in a world that hated her so long as this one person could would love her so much. Kara carried her through that storm and more besides.
That was also the night that Lena began using her own touch as a substitute, a pale imitation of the one she wanted from Kara but knew she would never have.
But they did not always touch.
Later, after more hugs and more lingering hands and shared dances, they would sit next to each other for nights of games or movies, and their friends would begin to make innuendos and begin to stare and Lena let herself pretend that the touches were more than they were.
In the darkest hours of the night Lena would lie in an empty bed and pray for touches.
Then the worst thing happened, and she denied the touch. Kara reached out, meaning to console, to comfort, to protect, to make it all better with her maddening power, but there was no fixing it. In the frozen tomb that was Kara’s arctic fortress, Lena buried Kara alive in a green hell and wished never to be touched again.
But her anger did not last forever. It never does. They fought, they argued, Kara ruined her plans, called her a villain, resisted her at every turn… but never touched her. Those soft hands were never laid upon her in anger and there were times when Lena almost wanted it, just to feel them again.
Then one day Lena saw too much and learned too much and the enormity of what she had done came down upon her, rushing in on her all at once, and she was as raw and naked and pained as she had been that night long ago when she first realized what Kara’s touches meant.
When she rushed back to the rent controlled side of town, going on foot for fear her brother would learn of her destination if she took the car, she only had wanted to set things right. She knew she didn’t deserve what she’d already been given and would ask no more.
Kara was waiting for her. When she opened the door she stood tall, jaw set, hair down over a pastel cardigan. The effect of Supergirl’s stern, righteous conviction garbed in the soft, inviting form of Kara made her heart do a flip, almost made her run, but she held her ground, feeling like a child begging forgiveness from a hurricane.
Lena stood before the open door, trembling and shaking, tears cutting red lines down her cheeks as she explained herself.
She didn’t expect Kara to touch her, so when it happened she flinched, almost yelped. When those powerful arms wrapped around her, it was as if nothing had changed, but everything had changed, because for the first time, Lena touched her back.
Lena touched her back without fear or reservation. She touched her back without the nervousness that came with hugging her Straight Best Friend. She hugged her back without deceit. She hugged her back with absolute conviction, saying with her arms and hands what her ever broken heart could never speak in words.
Kara’s touch answered her. She cupped Lena’s chin with a softness, a gentle control that no human could ever have, even as she closed the apartment door with such intensity that it left a hand print in the metal. The touches changed; they were no longer announcements but conversations, exchanges, dances and music at the same time. The world became a blur, a dreamscape of hands lifting her from the floor and relieving her of her coat and laying her on a bed, each caress a declaration that Lena answered with her own.
When their lips met, Lena poured into them every thought, every desire, every pain, every longing. She would have swallowed Kara if she could, climbed inside her, and Kara’s hands and lips begged and adored and instructed and finally, after, in morning sunlight, Lena buried her face in a sleeping Kara’s shoulder and wept her joy and freedom, because at last she was home.
When Alex came and Kara told her that Lena would help them safe the world, they were holding hands.
They would be holding hands again much later, after much love and loss and hope and joy, when Kara closed a delicate bracelet around Lena’s wrist.

steph catley x child (sunshine)
plot: Steph takes you home
warnings: mention of deaths
series master list: here
Tumblr media
When Lara passed you cried, cried like hell.
To you Lara was the world, your only world, she was what brightened your day whenever you visited and you were let out of the orphanage, even if it was only for about two hours or so.
But near the end of Lara’s fight, you started to share your world
With Steph.
You knew your sister liked her so you decided to like her, even if she didn’t play for her favorite team.
But now you were packing your bags with the help of one of the older kids.
Steph stood out the front of the door with Jen Beattie, one of her closest friends “Steph stop shaking you’ll be fine” Jen reassured the Australian “I know it’s just-“
“I just want her to have somebody, I promised Lara”
Jen squeezed her friend's shoulder “You still haven’t cried yet?” she asked and she crossed her head “I don’t know why”.
The doors opened to who Jen assumed to be the director of the Orphanage who welcomed them in, Steph was familiar with the woman as she greeted her with a laugh and a smile.
“How is she?” Steph asked the director as they sat down and waited for you to come down with your bags.
“She’s still upset, it’s the worst at six because that’s usually when she would go see her but it’s getting better, she is excited to see you” The woman smiled and Steph nodded “Did we finish all the files, and papers?” she asked and Steph nodded eagerly and Jen pulled them out of her bag for her.
“Now we just have a month trial and we get child services to come and ask her about you and the house life, especially since you have such an important job,” The director told Steph as she nodded, already knowing this information.
Jen watched her friend with a smile, she had seen Steph determined before but right now she looked so determined to give you a good life.
“Stephy” A sniff was heard behind the two Arsenal players as they both turned around quickly to reveal you, your brunette hair curled by one of the older orphans as you chose one of your prettiest dresses, one that Steph bought you when Lara was still alive.
She was out and about with Mini shopping for Harper when she saw the little yellow sundress and thought of you naturally as you always put a smile on everyone's face, like a little ray of sunshine.
But it was slightly cold so you paired it with a white cardigan.
“Hey, Sunshine!” Steph smiled before you waddled over to her, your dress flapping around before lifting you “You look pretty” she gushed and you looked down at her outfit “You look cool too!” you bashfully yelled, truly excited to see her after she finally told you that she was going to adopt you.
Steph had put effort into her outfit, wanting to look sophisticated when she picked you up, she had straightened her hair and wore a suit jacket with matching pants with a white singlet underneath.
Jen had teased her a little but she didn’t care, she was seeing her sunshine.
“Now I have to ask for protocol but Sunshine, do you want to stay with Stephanie?”
You jumped on Stephs knee’s nodding dramatically “Use your words Sunshine” Steph told you and you looked back to the director “Yes please”.
“Okay” the Director smiled, happy you were getting your happy ending with your circumstances “Let’s get you two out then” she laughed and Steph felt the butterflies in her stomach jump around like crazy, Jen got up to grab your bags, there were only two.
With her free hand, she took photos of you two that you both would grow to cherish.
The drive to Stephs was something you will never forget, both your smiles were huge as you asked questions about little things, Sometimes asking Jen about little things, especially asking her how it felt accidentally slamming Alexandra Popp which she was shocked to know but smiled when you told her that Lara was a huge arsenal fan.
“Who was her favorite player?” Jen asked and you put your finger to your chin thinking “Kimmy!” you yelled after remembering “But it was Jill before she moved” You nodded and Steph smiled “You have an amazing memory Sunshine” She complimented you and you nodded.
“It’s my superpower, now I get to remember Lara even more!”
Jen looked to Steph to see if any tears had fallen but no, she just nodded solemnly as she finally drove to her house.
When you got out of the kiddy chair that Steph had set up weeks ago, Steph held you in her arms and gave her keys to Jen to open the door when she opened the door Steph let you down, free to adventure which you did.
“Have you told her about Calvin?” Jen asked as she heard a squeal from you “I thought I put him outside” Steph's eyes popped.
“You have a doggy door”.
“Steph quickly followed your squeal but let out a laugh when she saw you and a still puppy Calvin playing with each other, you on your knees as he licked your face.
“Thankfully she likes dogs” Jen smiled as she turned the corner.
“Do you want to see your room?” Steph asked you and you looked at her with a grin “Do I have to share?” you asked and Steph crossed her head “Nope, you get it all to yourself and it’s a big girl bed”
“I’m a big girl” you smiled and Steph nodded “Exactly”.
You ran to your room with a smile on your face and jumped on your bed with a big yelp as Steph helped you up “Do you like it?” Steph asked as you looked around to see the room.
It had white walls and your draws were wooden but you had little yellow decorations as you told Steph your favorite colour was yellow “I love it!” you yelled, you kept on yelling, your excitement taking over you.
It was later in the day, after Jen went home at six o’clock you ran from the TV room into the kitchen where Steph was cooking pasta in your new pyjamas she bought you.
“Can we see Lara now?”
Steph dropped the wooden spoon in the pot at your words and quickly turned off the gas as she turned to you.
You had been so excited and happy all day that you had forgotten your troubles “We can’t do that Sunshine” Steph told you, bending down to be level with you “Why-“ you stopped your sentence as your memory finally caught up with you “oh yeah” you frowned, a tear escaping your eye which Steph wiped away quickly “I forgot” you cried a bit more.
“that’s okay” Steph eased you as she felt her eyes starting to water from your mistake “I forgot” you repeated and buried yourself into Steph's neck “It’s okay Sunshine” she squeezed your tights as tears began to flow down her cheeks.
Lara was truly gone.
Steph was all you had left.

what it would be like meeting mikey berzatto as the most important person in carmy's life:
a/n: ok so it is in fact canon in my 'make my heart surrender' series that the main character never got to meet mikey. however, i've been thinking a lot about what it would be like if she had met him when she and carmy were working together in new york so i wrote a lil somethin' about it. it can absolutely be read as a standalone piece with a pastry!chef reader.
takes place october 2021; reader x carmy are best friends and colleagues but it has not gone further than that.
trigger warnings: drug usage, high mikey b, swearing, family drama, depression
Tumblr media
how you end up meeting mikey:
halloween weekend of 2021. mikey ends up in new york city for the weekend because he followed a weekend fling for a party. they got into a huge fight over who knows what, and he finds himself in new york city, figuring he might as well go see his brother.
it's a busy night at the new-york-city-fine-dining-establishment-that-shall-not-be-named, carmy is knee deep in expediting while the pastry side just happens to be overstaffed.
your general manager, kate, comes in, letting them know that there's a man outside who's asking for carmy. "he says he's your brother." "my brother?" while carmy doesn't think he can step away, in one shared look, you decide to go since you're his best friend -- the only one he trusts to handle it anyways.
you head out to the front of the restaurant to address the situation finding michael standing outside of the restaurant, pacing on the sidewalk. you recognize him from photos, but he looks different, and it's not hard to figure out that he's kind of strung out -- high on something, though you're uncertain of what.
"you're not carm." "no, i'm not. sorry, but carmy couldn't come out. so he sent me." "shit... the guy can't even make time to see his big brother?" "i don't think he was expecting you." you watch as michael's eyebrows rise in reaction to your comment. "he would if he could. it's just... we're doing 400 covers tonight and uh... well, he runs the kitchen so." disappointedly, as if he's accepted that he's not going to see carmy after all, he says, "yeah yeah okay... i didn't know i'd be here either. i just, i -- i gotta catch a flight anyways. will you let him know that mikey stopped by?" "of course."
by the time you get back in the kitchen, you want to protect carmy from the state michael was in so you don't mention the fact that he was high. "what did he want?" "just wanted to stop by. i think he uh... found himself in the city. surprise trip or something." but carmy doesn't completely buy it, instead, focuses, head down on finishing dinner service.
at the end of the night, carmy offers to walk you home, so the two of you head out of the restaurant, eager to unwind from a long night. as you're leaving, michael's still waiting outside of the restaurant and he doesn't look great -- looks like he's coming down from whatever you assume he took.
"michael, what're you doing here?" carmy asks, in shock that he's even here in the first place. "thought i'd come surprise you." "i mean, what're you doing here? in new york?" mikey sighs, a smirk on his face as he answers with: "never trust chicks on motorcycles, carm. they'll leave you high and dry in a brooklyn loft for a few good lines of coke. he chuckles. and while he doesn't exactly find it funny, carmy makes his best effort to try and laugh too, it coming out more like a dry exhale. mikey pivots, as if he's putting on a well-practiced happy face, though there's a sadness in your eyes that you think may haunt you for the rest of your life.
"i'm sorry. where the fuck are my manners? i'm mikey. mikey berzatto. i'm this jagoff's brother." you introduce yourself, and mikey's enthusiastically corralling you to grab a drink with him. carmy keeps looking over at you as if he's checking in, trying to get a read on you as he hesitates to answer. cautiously, you agree, wanting carmy to spend time with his brother. "one drink," he warns mikey.
the three of you make your way to a bar across the street that's open late, and as soon as michael has his first drink, it's like he's a completely different person. he's charming, larger than life, quite the storyteller and you see a side of carmy that you've never seen before. as you watch him listen to his brother, you can see just how much he admires his older brother. while you know carmy is hurt that michael barely calls or makes an effort to keep in touch, sitting here with him now, you can see the way that carmy looks at him -- like he put the stars, the moon, and the sun in the sky. there's a deep admiration and he's almost childlike in the way that he looks up to him.
after the first round, you head to bathroom, wanting to give him and mikey the time. carmy had promised one drink, but you're open to staying if he wants more time with his brother.
"this your girl, carm" "mikey, stop it." "then please tell me you're hittin' that." "michael!" carmy hushes his brother, a warning and protectiveness in his voice as he does. "are you fuckin' serious right now? what, you're teling me you're not?" "she's.... my friend." "shit. wish i had a friend like that. ya friends or are ya... you know... friends?" carmy just shakes his head, jaw clenched, glaring at michael, wishing he'd stop. "shit, i thought i taught you better than that, bear." "just friends. i'm serious, mike. cut it out." "oh come on! the chick's smokin' fuckin' hot. and i can tell that you like her. i'm not blind, bear. i see the way you-."
it's that sentence that pushes carmy in a way that he doesn't like at all. "don't talk to me like you know what's going on in my life." "carm-." "can't even pick up the damn phone and then you just... waltz into town acting like everything is okay?" "well, if you ever bothered to come home. you know mom's been askin' about you. never fuckin' call her-." "oh don't bring mom into this!"
when you return from the bathroom, there is a palpable tension between the two of them that you're not sure how to navigate the thick silence stewing with things left unsaid.
"everything okay?" you ask.
"i think we should go," carmy grits out, clearly upset over the conversation that just transpired between them. "uh... yeah, okay." "it was nice meetin' you sweetheart," mikey grunts, an empty shot glass that wasn't there previously on the bar top. carmy noticeably rolls his eyes at mikey's comment as you grab your things and close out your tab.
on the walk home, you ask: "you wanna talk about it?" "not really," carmy answers. he's quiet on the way home and you can tell whatever was said between the two of them really hurt him. as you finally get to your place, carmy sighs, as if he's ready to get something off his chest. "thank you. for doing that." "for what?" "for comin' along. even though it like... colossally blew up." "you ever gonna tell me what happened?" he shrugs, "i don't know." "okay... well, while i wait for you to burst like a pressure cooker, then inevitably spill the beans," you begin, and he smiles, because you know him too well. "wanna come up for a movie or something? get your mind off of it? it's halloween. maybe i'll even let you talk me into a scary movie this time." you finish asking him. and it's the moment that carmy realizes that you're such a breath of fresh air, especially in contrast with his earlier encounter with mikey. "uh.. yeah. think i'd like that."
the two of you go up to your place, put on a movie, and end up falling asleep on the couch together, only to pretend the next morning that it's not that big of a deal (it is, in fact, a HUGE deal).

Radio Waves - Part 2
Summary - Nobody believes Vox when he tells them about his encounter with Alastor. He wonders why the Radio Demon allowed him to attack, yet, unbeknownst to Vox, Alastor intends on teaching him why.
Word count - 1000
-
Vox, Velvette and Valentino were in the shared lounge of the V Tower. Velvette and Valentino were sitting on the couches, scrolling through their phones, while Vox was standing, desperately trying to convince them of his story.
“I’m telling you! I completely destroyed him!” Vox pleaded to the other Vees, who were only half-listening to him.
“Pics or it didn’t happen.” Velvette remarked, her eyes not leaving her phone.
“I already told you,” Vox said, clearly annoyed, “when I reached for my phone, he combined with the shadows and disappeared!”
“If he could have gotten away that easily, there’s no way he would have let you get any further than pinning him down.” Valentino said flatly, also not looking away from his screen.
“That’s why it’s so strange! He LET me tickle him to bits!” Vox began stomping the floor with his foot. “He did, he DID, HE DID!”
Valentino and Velvette shared a look.
“We have important things to do, Vox. We can’t sit around listening to whatever stories you plan on making up next.” Velvette said, as she and Valentino stood. “Why don’t you take a nap or something. Try to get over whatever... this whole thing is.”
Vox watched as Velvette and Valentino left the room.
What’s the point of dominating your rival if nobody else saw, and the people you tell don’t believe you? Vox thought to himself.
Suddenly, Vox felt an error pop up on his head, just for a moment.
“Huh? That’s strange. I usually only get errors when…”
Oh no.
“Greetings, old pal!” Alastor said enthusiastically, manifesting from the shadows in the corner of the room.
Vox whipped around. “Alastor! How did you get in here? How long have you been here for?!”
“All in due time, my good fellow. What’s important now is that I have heard you trying to spread rumours around, involving myself. I can’t have that.”
Alastor began making his way towards Vox, who took a few steps back.
“You know as well as I do that they’re not rumours. It seems that you have nothing to worry about, though. No one believes me.”
“Be that as it may,” Alastor said as he continued to move towards Vox, “I’d prefer nobody get any… ideas, from your ramblings. I intend on shutting them down.”
“Oh yeah? And how do you plan on doing so?”
With that, Vox felt his wrists be grasped by two black tendrils. They were securely wrapped around before pulling Vox to the floor, with his arms raised above his head. Alastor waltzed over and placed himself atop Vox’s waist.
“Like this.” The Radio Demon’s grin grew, with Vox desperately pulling at his restraints.
“Don’t you dare! Get off right now! I will kill you, I will burn your hotel to the ground, I will-”
Vox’s empty threats halted when Alastor began swirling a single finger in his underarm.
“Go on~” Alastor purred.
Vox didn’t want to give Alastor what he was looking for. He kept the giggles bubbling up inside of him suppressed as he continued. “S-saw off your antlers, I- snrk!”
A sound involuntarily left Vox’s mouth as Alastor switched from swirling to light scratching.
Alastor chuckled. “Do you really think it’s wise to threaten the person already intent on reducing you to a laughing mess?” He then began using his other hand to scratch beneath Vox’s other arm.
Vox could no longer keep silent. He began giggling madly.
“Nohohoho! Alastohohohor!” Vox pleaded.
“Ah, there it is! There’s nothing like watching someone try their best to avoid something, only for it to occur despite their best efforts.”
Vox attempted to kick Alastor from behind, but a tendril quickly swooped in and caught his leg before it could make impact.
“Ah, ah, ah~ that wasn’t very nice now, was it?” Alastor chimed. “You’ve earned what’s coming to you.”
Alastor moved his hands to Vox’s ribs, digging his fingers in and raking them across with no mercy.
Vox was moved to complete, full-fledged laughter.
“NAHAHAHA! AHAHAHAL, STAHAHAP!”
“Oh dear, I think that this television is broken. The volume appears to be stuck at the highest setting, and there’s nothing that can be done to fix it.”
Vox simply continued laughing, unable to further protest while such a sensitive area was being attacked. Things got worse, however, when one of Alastor’s little minions appeared, surrounded by a green glow.
The creature hurried over to Vox’s head, removing his hat and beginning to play with his antennae.
Vox, in hysterics, shook his head from side-to-side in an effort to remove the creature, but it clung tightly and didn’t let up.
This continued for a few more minutes, until a voice could be heard within the tower, heading for the lounge.
“Vox! Where in the world are you?! Our meeting started 10 minutes ago and I’m sick of waiting!”
It was Velvette. Vox had completely forgotten about their meeting that afternoon, not that it mattered due to his current situation.
Alastor slowed his hands to a stop, removing them from Vox’s figure. His minion disappeared and Alastor picked up Vox’s hat, replacing it on his head.
Vox was regaining his breath as Alastor leaned down to his head and spoke in a low tone, saying, “Now you know why I made the choices that I did.”
With that, Alastor got off of Vox, removed the tendrils from his wrists and stepped back, fading into the shadows.
Velvette burst into the room and was greeted by a flushed, winded Vox on the ground.
“Vox! Are you coming or not?” She questioned angrily.
“I will be right there, my dear!” Vox responded with a smile, Velvette then leaving in a huff.
Alastor was right. Vox now understood why Alastor had allowed the events of the other day to transpire.
That was amazing.

There are many things that frustrate me with the writing of Annabeth in the PJO TV Show, but I think one thing that I haven’t seen people talk much about is the mini-arc of Percy needing to help Annabeth with her sense of fun/humanity.
Just so we’re clear, I absolutely hate this arc.
Prior to the show’s premiere, I believe there was a quote from Rick discussing new-ish things that we’d see in the show, and one of those things was Percy helping Annabeth “tap into her humanity”. I can’t find the exact quote, but it should be on the series update Twitter account if you search it.
When I first read this quote, I wasn’t exactly sure what it meant, but I thought maybe we’d get an expansion of the theme of forgiveness that we got in the original books, or maybe we’d get an arc about Annabeth’s pride and how that gets in the way of her relationships with others. Or maybe they’d try and break down the ways in which Annabeth helps to uphold the gods’ ways of doing things, and align her more with the mortal point of view (which they essentially did, but not the overall point).
What I certainly wasn’t expecting was for them to strip Annabeth of most, if not, all of her smaller/softer traits, and give her this unusually stoic and stiff personality, where she suddenly has no familiarity with casual aspects of the mortal world (movies, Disney world, common idioms), and needs Percy to introduce these concepts to her in an effort to “unlock” her humanity.
What.
The.
Fuck.
Words cannot emphasize enough how much I despise this arc. Not only is it entirely nonsensical for Annabeth not to be familiar with these things (she was with her dad at least until the age of 7 and she goes to a camp full of other children who are regularly in contact with the mortal world; do you seriously expect me to believe that at no point in her 12 years of life, she never saw a single film, heard of Disneyworld, or heard common idioms and slang terms from her camp-mates? Seriously???)
But ALSO!
Book!Annabeth had PLENTY of humanity to go around! Even with her pride and initial coldness towards Percy, she plays hackeysack with him and Grover on the first day of their quest! She has a cute silly crush/admiration/infatuation on Luke. She nerds out big time over the St. Louis Arch! She’s the first to steal clothing from Waterland! She screams and cries when she encounters the mechanical spiders! She has an expression of sadness when she shares her backstory about Thalia and Luke! She gets lost in her little construction game at the Lotus, so much so that Percy has to use her phobia to pull her out of the trance! She grabs Percy’s hand when they first enter the Underworld because she’s scared! She tears up when it’s time to leave Cerberus!
And you stripped her of all these things, because you’re so desperate to overemphasize the Percabeth romance, and you felt that it was absolutely necessary to have Percy educate Annabeth on “unlocking humanity”??? Why!!!!
Not only did Book!Percy help Annabeth discuss things about bad parents and approaching forgiveness, but Book!Percy already had something important to offer Annabeth: loyalty, trustworthiness, and reliability. You didn’t need to take away her already-present traits and wits to convince us that Percy was the type of person she needed in her life, because we can already see what he offers her in the books. So why oh why did you feel the need to give us the silly “tap into your humanity” arc? Why did you turn her personality into something that it wasn’t? Why did you take away her depth just so her character could better serve Percabeth?
I don’t even necessarily agree with the criticism that this version of Annabeth feels like it prioritizes Percabeth more, but I can see why people made that complaint. Y’all took away so much of what made this character endearing, because you felt like it was a much bigger priority to have Percy help her unlock humanity than to let her be human prior to meeting him and outside of him. Not only does her personality get shafted, but her relationships with other people get shafted too! Her interactions with Luke are affection-less, she sent Grover off on his own in the Lotus so she could go off with Percy, and I don’t even think that she and Chiron interacted once this season; I don’t even think she mentioned the part about her calling him to come pick her up after she attempted living at home again!
But don’t worry; we’ll get plenty of scenes doubling down and tripling down on how Percy is the center of her world now! Yay!

Jamie had a pretty hard season, with him moving to Philadelphia unexpectedly and him being injured had really gotten to him. He's spent the last two weeks at home recovering and trying to get better as soon as he could, he wanted to be back on the ice as soon as possible. His injury added another layer of frustration. The pain, both physical and emotional, weighed heavily on him. Hockey had always been his sanctuary, and the forced break on top of the trade felt like the whole universe was against him.
You entered the condo, sighing with exhaustion. The last couple months had been frustrating for you as well, but it didn't even come close to how Jamie was feeling. As you entered the small condo, you heard the shower running and assumed it was Jamie.
You put down everything and began starting on dinner, Jamie probably hadn't eaten anything except breakfast. You were worried for him, more than you could ever express. You'd always had faith in him even in the lowest of the lows but he had never been this low in his entire career. He'd always been a determined person but right now, it really did feel like the odds were stacked up against him.
You wanted to do everything in your power to make him happy again, even if it was for a fleeting moment before the world closing on him again. The smell of a home-cooked meal began to fill the air as you moved around the kitchen, chopping vegetables and preparing a comforting dish.
As you worked, your thoughts lingered on Jamie's struggles - the trade, the injury, and the emotional toll it all took on him. You understood the importance of hockey in his life, how it served as a source of purpose. Tonight, you wanted to provide not just a meal but a reminder that he wasn't alone in this struggle, no matter what happens.
As your timer beeped, indicating that dinner was ready, you set the table, adorned with comforting dishes. The shower turned off, and soon Jamie emerged, his weariness evident in his movements. You gave him a warm smile, opening up your arms for a hug.
"I made your favorite,"
He slumped down to your height and embraced you tightly, sighing. You let him hug you before he slipped away from the embrace, and you could feel the tension in his shoulders as he did. The weariness in his pretty eyes spoke volumes, but so did the gratitude for the effort you put into making the evening a little brighter.
"Thank you," Jamie murmured, his voice a mixture of fatigue and appreciation. He walked over to the table and sat down as you brought waters from the fridge before sitting with him.
"How was your day?" You asked gently as you settled into the seat, glancing up to watch him.
"It was fine." He responded shortly as he began eating the food, avoiding your gaze. You knew he didn't want to come off bitter but it stung, you tried your best to not to take it personal. "You?"
"Oh, you know, the usual," you replied with a light chuckle, trying to maintain a casual tone. "Work had its moments, but nothing too exciting. I did manage to catch up with Maya over the phone today, she said she missed us back in California."
You knew you had messed up as you heard Jamie's fork hit the plate, the sound echoing throughout the apartment. Shit, I shouldn't have mentioned California. You looked up and caught his tired gaze as he sighed.
"I'm sorry," you offered softly, regret lacing your words. "I didn't mean to bring up anything that might upset you. It's just habit to share little updates about people we know, you know?"
Jamie took a deep breath, and you could see the effort it took for him to compose himself. "It's okay," he finally replied, though the strain in his voice betrayed the words. "I just... miss the way things used to be."
His vulnerability hung in the air, and you felt a pang of empathy. The unexpected move to Philadelphia had disrupted not only his career but also the familiar life you both had in California. You reached across the table, gently placing your hand over his. "I miss it too, Jamie. But we'll make new memories here. It just takes time."
He sighed and pulled his hand away from yours, your chest squeezing in hurt. He took the fork and continued to eat, choosing to stay silent. You didn't know why he was being so distant, so cold. You hated it but you couldn't resent him for it, you knew it wasn't his fault. That still didn't mean it didn't hurt, though.
The room seemed to shrink with the silence, the only sound was the clinking of cutlery against the plate. The unspoken tension between you and Jamie hung heavy in the air and despite your attempt to offer comfort, he withdrew further into his thoughts. As he continued to eat in silence, you couldn't shake the ache in your chest. The distance, both physical and emotional, left you feeling like a spectator in Jamie's struggle, unable to bridge the gap that seemed to widen with each passing moment.
You had never had this problem with Jamie before, he communicated everything he felt so that it was easier for the both of you so this was new territory. What had changed? Why was he retreating into this new, silent version of himself? The questions lingered, unanswered, amplifying the sense of helplessness.
With a heavy sigh, you set your fork down, the clatter against the plate echoing the unease in the room. "Jamie," you began tentatively, your voice soft but carrying the weight of your concern. "I hate seeing you like this, I just want to help."
Jamie had finally slammed the fork down, looking up at you with agitated playing on his face. "You can't fucking help me, Y/N. Do you get that, is that simple enough for you? I can't breathe around you without you looking at me and trying to analyze it and help me. You look at me like I'm some kind of burden you need to carry, and I'm sick of it."
His words hit you like a punch to the gut, the raw emotion behind them stinging more than any physical blow. It was a side of Jamie you hadn't encountered before, and the harshness in his tone took you aback. There was silence as you both stared at each other and you saw the regret slowly seep into Jamie's expression.
You took a moment to collect yourself, swallowing the lump in your throat before finally speaking. "I never meant to make you feel like a burden. I just care about you, and seeing you struggle hurts. I thought we could face it together, like we always have."
He lowered his gaze, a visible conflict playing out in his eyes. The regret painted across his face was palpable, and for a moment, it seemed like he was grappling with the weight of his words. "I know I messed up," Jamie finally admitted, his voice softer now, remorse evident. "It's just... everything feels like too much right now, and I took it out on you. I'm sorry, baby."
The pet name rolled off his tongue like honey as he spoke and you could see the old Jamie come back slowly as you gazed at him. You nodded, acknowledging the complexity of the emotions that had fueled his outburst.
"Everything will be easier if you just talk to me, Jamie." You paused, choosing your words carefully. "I want to understand, Jamie. I want to be there for you," you continued, your voice gentle but firm. "We can face whatever it is together. Just talk to me. Please."
He sighed, the conflict in his eyes softening. "I know, Y/N. I just... I'm not used to all of this. The move, the injury, it's like my whole world got turned upside down, and I don't know how to understand it."
You reached across the table, your hand finding his. "We'll figure it out together. You don't have to carry it all on your own. I hate seeing you hurt like this, baby."
He squeezed your hand, the warmth of the gesture was filled with gratitude. "I don't want to push you away, Y/N. I just... I've always been the one who had it all figured out, you know? But this, it's different. It's overwhelming."
"You don't have to have it all figured out, Jamie. We'll navigate through this together. It's okay not to be okay, you don't have to play the part because at the end of the day, you're just human."
He nodded, a mixture of emotions flickering in his eyes. "I'm just scared of losing everything, of losing myself in all of this mess."
The weight of his fears hung in the air, and you leaned in, your thumb gently caressing his hand. "You won't lose yourself, Jamie. I'm here to help you find your way back. We'll take it one step at a time."
For a moment, he hesitated, the weight of vulnerability hanging in the air. Then, slowly, he began to open up. The words spilled out, frustration, fear, and the overwhelming pressure he felt. As he spoke, you listened, offering support.
After the conversation, you laid next to him in the bed, his head laying on your chest. The silence was comfortable as you both began to seep into sleep, enveloped in one another. Your fingers gently traced soothing patterns on his back as you held him close, your presence a reassurance that he wasn't alone ever.
The soft rhythm of his breathing matched the steady beat of your heart, as Jamie shifted slightly, his fingers finding yours in the darkness.

It's currently storming and here's a little fun fact about me, I'm terrified of thunder. So here's a little hurt comfort Drabble with a reader who's spooked during thunderstorms. Please enjoy! Ps. The next part of "The Radio Host and The Reporter" is in my drafts ∩^ω^∩
Rain Rain go Away
Paring: Alastor x Fem!reader
Warnings: possible ooc Alastor
Tumblr media
You've never been a fan of thunderstorms. Quite unfortunate considering that when you were alive you lived in an area that tended to get hit hard by thunderstorms when they did happen. Back then Alastor didn't know this till he found you burrowed under blankets like a small mammal.
This night was no different. It was a rare night in hell and a thunderstorm was raging on outside. As soon as your doe like ears picked up on the first sign of rain, you tensed.
"Hey (y/n) you good toots?"
Angel dust asked, snapping you out if your train of thoughts. Your ears were pinned back as you managed a smile and stood up.
"Yeah Angel. I'm okay"
And with that you left. You took a very shaky breath as you walked up the stairs. Of course Alastor had left to go see Rosie a few hours ago, none of you known it would rain. You just hoped it wouldn't end up a thunderstorm.
*****
Alastor was mid sip when his ear flicked, moments before rain started pouring down. He put his tea cup back down on its saucer. His ear closest to the window kept facing it, listening for signs of thunder while he kept facing Rosie. His smile was still casual as he listened at the latest gossip Rosie had been talking about.
"Oh and Suzan came by. Still brutish as ever, came to me because she ended up eating her husband, can you bealive that?"
"Well it is Suzan Rosie, that woman even has me at the end of my rope"
Alastor's ear flicked and his grip tightened on the handle of his teacup. Moments later a blinding flash of light struck a tall tower, and a rumbling crack echoed down the streets.
His ears flicked downward and to the side for a moment before returning to their normal position. It was enough to tip off Rosie however,
"Oh go on Alastor. If you need to leave I'm sure it's important"
Rosie flashed him her usual smile, waving her hands in a shooing motion.
Alastor's eyes softened for a moment.
"Thank you Rosie. We'll have to catch up some other time. Thank you for the tea"
With that, Alastor shadow warped out of Rosie's emporium and into the lobby of the hotel. His ears flicked, the wind seemed to be stronger here and the rain pounded against the walls. A second crack of thunder seemed to shake the building.
"Oh wow this is a rough storm. I should go check on (y/n) she left a little while ago-"
"No need Charlie, I'll do it myself"
Vaggie looks up at Alastor for a moment raising an eyebrow before nodding and placing a hand on Charlie's shoulder.
"Let's go check on Angel dust instead. Does that sound good sweetheart?"
Charlie nods her head and the two of them walk down the hall, husk makes brief eye contact with Alastor before taking a bottle of cheep booze back to his room. Thunder shakes the hotel again and Alastor makes his way up the stairs. No one is around so he makes no effort in trying to conceal the urgency in his steps.
Alastor pushes open the door to your shared room, his eyes looking around for you. His ears flick as it thunders again, drawing out a whimper from within the bayou that he had materialized in his room.
Taking a blanket off the bed he walks through the bayou, going in a bit deep, following the hoof prints you had left behind. He finds you, sitting on a log, hands over your ears.
****
Shaking, you hear someone approaching. Alastor was making his movements known to you. Raising your head you look up at him, taking your hands off your ears and placing them in your lap. His eyes a softness reserved for only when the two of you were alone.
As if ok que, the crack of thunder shook the hotel, although it seemed a bit softer out in the bayou. You squeaked, curling up into a ball. Alastor sat next to you on the log. Since you've died and gained your doe like appearance, you've found that your hearing has gotten better. Your ears are pinned back in fear.
Your body uncurls itself as Alastor drapes a blanket he had gotten from the bed over your shoulders and pulled you into his lap.
"Oh my doe, my sweet doe. Come here. The thunder shouldn't last much longer"
You nod your head. The two of you spending the rest of the night in eachother's embrace while Alastor talked on and on about his day, taking your mind off the rain pounding in the only window in his room.
Soon enough you were starting to drift off to sleep in his embrace. Picking you up, he stood up with a hum. The last thing you saw before you fell into a peaceful slumber was him, smiling softly with gentle eyes,
"See my doe? I told you it would pass"

Hey! I was wondering if you could maybe do a Gwen x female (or gender neutral) reader’s first kiss? They’re not officially dating but they both have rather clear feelings for each other. Gwen maybe saves reader from a petty street crime and they share the iconic Spiderman kiss. The reader doesn’t blatantly know that Gwen is Spiderwoman, but they have a gut feeling, as Gwen also has a gut feeling they may already know.
˚‧⁺.-"Kiss me again - he says, drunk and foolish - Kiss me until I am sick of it"
↳ summary: basically, spiderman iconic kiss with Gwen
↳ characters: Gwen Stacy
↳ Gn! Reader
↳ notes: I would with fem reader, but nothing in that work would make that fact explicit, so I titled it gn (which can also be seen as fem), hope you don't mind.
Tumblr media
Gwen's heart fluttered when she saw you being mugged. No way was she going to let you get hurt. You were too important to her.
You were paralyzed. Being mugged in a desert street in the big city was not something you used to do, of course you would be scared. The gun was pointed at your face while the thug stared at you with a scary look while another man, presumably his henchman, looked you up and down with a smirk you thought could swallow you whole. And a third man watching the surroundings, ready to warn the others at any sign of the police. The man who had the gun pointed at you looked like some kind of bodyguard for some rich rapper who performs in bars every Friday: gold teeth, tattoos, piercings and such.
Gwen was having a snack until she saw you being mugged in a nearby deserted street. She didn't let herself think long before quickly stepping in and jumping next to the bandits. When she realized that she didn't even bother to put the mask on before jumping in front of you, it was too late to go back and get it, she would have to do it quickly so that no one saw her face.
She was grateful for the darkness of the street when got into a quick melee and threw the thugs away in a dumpster in front of a building, knocking them unconscious. Before you could even process it properly and go after her to thank her, she'd ducked into a nearby alley as quickly as she'd appeared to save you.
You wasted no time in following her, but were disappointed when you couldn't find her. A little frustrated, you turned to resume your walk home, to find the spiderwoman hanging upside down in front of you.
She cleared her throat before speaking in an unnaturally deep voice. "Are you all right, dear citizen?"
You jumped a little in surprise when you saw her before speaking. You really didn't expect her to come back to check on you after saving you. After recovering from the surprise, you started talking. "Uh...-? Of course, I'm fine thanks to you. We've been seeing each other a lot these past few days, you made a point of helping me just across the street this weekend. Do I have a superhero stalker?"
Unknown to you, Gwen smiled beneath her mask and replied in a confident tone. "I was in the neighborhood."
You smiled and took a moment to sigh and admire the figure hanging in front of you. "You're amazing."
"Some people don't think so." She just shook her head and spoke, again using her unnatural low voice.
You didn't say anything, just held your hands out until they hovered over the top of the mask around her neck. "...What?" She asked with a tone of doubt, but without making the slightest effort to stop you.
You withdrew your hands a little, until it took you a while to resume your action. You slowly extended your hands until they hovered over the top of her mask around her neck again upon seeing the, as yet unknown to you, blonde's non-existent attempts to stop you. Still slowly, you pulled your mask up to her nose, to see a strangely familiar gap between the teeth in the superheroine's half opened mouth, and rested your hands on her cheeks.
Without much delay, you kissed her.
She felt herself magically melting into your kiss. Her heart was beating too fast, and her cheeks were burning. At this point, she was thanking whatever god there was that part of her cheeks was still covered, so you wouldn't see the blushing mess you made of her. If the kiss wasn't enough, she was now all too aware of your soft hands resting on her cheeks. She found herself having to resist the urge to relax against your touch right there. She felt in heaven, kissing her crush did wonders for her. The looks exchanged, and the laughter shared during the common lessons at school seemed a distant delusion in her mind now. All that mattered was that she was kissing her crush at this very moment.
The poor girl wanted this moment to last forever, but the need to breathe soon came and you had to part ways. As soon as you pulled away, she saw your breathless appearance and flushed cheeks, and smiled when you adjusted her mask correctly.
"So, my favorite citizen, wants me to walk you home?"

We have exactly one Christmas tradition in my house, and it feels very important to share it. I've been a cat person basically forever and for most of my adult life, my house has had more cats than people in it. They've all liked sleeping under the Christmas tree and all that, but other than that, they always just sort of ignored it.
But in 2018, we got Natasha.
Tumblr media
There are about a dozen pictures like that, but I always adopt adult cats, so we figured this just came with having a kitten in the house. She was just this tiny little fluff who still fit in my cupped hands despite being about six months old, so we put away the ornaments, shrugged it off, and took advantage of the opportunity to have a really cute Christmas card the next year.
Then, 2019 came around.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Natasha escalated to sleeping in the tree in between trying to eat all the branches, and honestly, it was too funny to make more than a cursory effort to stop her. My partner and I assumed that since she was still pretty tiny, she had more growing to do and would surely get to a point where her own body weight would keep her from doing this. In the meantime, we left the tree without ornaments that year and just called it good.
Tumblr media
But then 2020 came around, forcing us to acknowledge that:
Natasha was not going to get too big to do this. At this point it had become clear that she wasn't developing slowly. She was just a really tiny cat. She's less than half the size of any other cat I've ever had.
Natasha was also not going to chill out enough to stop doing this.
But hey. Who needs ornaments with a face like that poking out of the branches at you all the time?
Tumblr media
Sure enough, 2021 Natasha also had zero chill about the tree, but at this point it would have been weirder if she did leave it alone.
I thought I had seen everything, but this year I'd been kind of down and my partner decided to surprise me by setting up the tree and stuff while I was at work. It was an incredibly sweet gesture considering they don't actually even like Christmas decorations. It also meant I got to come home to this.
Tumblr media
I kept expecting her to fall out, but she just chilled there, surveying the room until she got bored. And yes, that is absolutely a big, fancy cat tree she's ignoring in favor of scaling the Christmas tree.
Two days before Christmas, she has finally gotten bored enough that I'm making my first attempt in ages to actually put up ornaments. At this point, I'm not sure if I'll be more disappointed if they have to come down or if they don't.

Hello!
If its cool, may I request a fic with Caelus, Dang Heng, March and Gepard all hanging out and Sampo starts to flirt with intoverted!reader after they take off their usually oversized jacket to reveal themselves wearing a formfitting turtlekneck. After a bit, reader sighs and looks at them, amused and exasperated, and says "listen, I have the sex appeal of a croissant. If your looking cake, your better off going to the bakery over there" reffering a bakery just across the street from where the group is standing in Belabog. I'd think their reactions would be funny.
Thank you!
Hi Anon! Thank you for your request! Sorry it took so long. I'm so bad at writing flirting so hopefully this isn't too bad; it is a bit short but I hope you like the fanfic!
Fandom: Honkai Star Rail
Characters: Caelus, Dan Heng, March 7th, Gepard Landau, Sampo Koski x introvert! gn! Reader (platonic)
Word Count: 0.4k (467 words)
Tumblr media
“Woah…looking good there.”
You paused in folding up your jacket as you turned to face Sampo. “Sorry?”
You were hanging out with Sampo, Gepard, and the three from the Astral Express; Caelus, Den Heng, and March. It was a warm day in Belabog and it was too hot to be wearing your usual oversized jacket. You had removed it in favour of your fitting turtleneck which would be much cooler. Apparently that had garnered the attention of one of your companions.
Sampo leaned forward from where he was sitting on the edge of the fountain. A sly smile stretched across his lips. “I said, you’re looking good. Not often one gets a glimpse of someone so beautiful.”
Gepard rolled his eyes. “Really, Sampo? It’s not like you haven’t seen your fair share of people you’d deem attractive.”
“Yeah but that turtleneck?” Sampo gestured to your form fitting top, “Pretty hot if you ask me.”
You turned away, unsure of how to react.
“Aw, come on. Don’t hide your beauty.” Sampo was insistent.
“Don’t make them uncomfortable.” You looked up at Caelus gratefully. Out of everyone there, he seemed to be the one who best understood your introverted tendencies.
“Certainly not my intent.” You looked across at Sampo who was leaning back with his hands raised. When he saw you looking at him, he smirked. “Looks like I’m not the only one who can’t help but stare.”
You sighed. Enough was enough. “Sampo, listen. I have the sex appeal of a croissant. If you’re looking for cake, you’re better off going to the bakery-” You waved a hand in the direction of the bakery, “-over there.”
Immediately, chaos erupted around you. The milkshake March had been drinking sprayed across the ground in front of her as she choked on however much of it had gone down the wrong pipe. Caelus was laughing, tears in his eyes as he rubbed March’s back. Gepard was attempting to smother a laugh. Even Dan Heng was fighting back a smile and he attempted to pass off his amusement as exasperation.
Perhaps the best expression was Sampo who was looking back at you with an expression halfway between dumbfounded and abashed.
March had recovered from her coughing fit. “That was amazing! Oh my goodness.”
“I certainly wasn’t expecting that.” Caelus was wiping the tears from his eyes, trying to compose himself.
Dan Heng was still trying to smother his smile but every time his eyes met yours, his efforts would fail and he would be forced to quickly compose his face again.
Gepard leant across to place a shoulder on Sampo’s shoulder. “She got you there.”
Sampo was still staring at you. Then, suddenly, he smiled, teasing mirth glimmering behind his eyes. “And just when I thought I couldn’t like you any more…”

What would you say are the top 3 (or 5) strongest clues that say Elucien/Gwynriel are gonna happen? The ones that really feel so solid to you.
Ooooh, this is a good question.
For Gwynriel:
That Gwyn is the only character to treat Az's shadows as being separate from himself. It' like a guy who begins dating a girl who has children but he never pays attention to them versus the guy who goes out of his way to get to know the children, proving that he understands the girl and her children are a packaged deal.
That Az is not looking as Gwyn as someone in need of his protection. I'm sure there will be some of that in their book, mates always look out for one another, but there is a big difference between "we can do this together" versus, "I'll do it for you so you don't get hurt".
That Gwyn seems to have a bloodthirsty side to her personality, just as Az does. He can torture in a symphony of pain which means he has chosen to finesse his craft. He's not "let's get this over as quick as possible because I don't like it," it's, "I'm going to draw this out nice and slow and make it hurt in ways you never dreamed." I think he feels guilty about his enjoyment of it afterward because he thinks it makes him a bad person but I think he gets satisfaction from the actual act. Someone like Gwyn who was excited over the thought of the Valkyries cracking skulls and skewering their enemies is well matched for his brutality.
That Gwyn and Az seem to prefer a smaller group of friends over being extremely social, the life of the party. Neither seems to mind their alone time.
For Elucien, there are so many:
That Elain and Lucien share important core values. They are quick to apologize for failing others, they both prefer to avoid violence, they both enjoy being social and engaging with others. There will never be a time where they have to check up on one another, "I'm sorry, is this too overwhelming for you? We can head home if you need".
That Lucien has been loyal to Elain and only Elain ever since he found out who she was to him. No, he did not instantly love her but he chose to respect their bond while he took the time to learn about her whereas he could have easily continued his rakish ways especially after learning she was engaged to someone else. Loyalty to the FMC is sexy.
That Lucien was the one to meet Elain's father and live in the human lands. These are two enormous parts of Elain's past, things that mattered a great deal to her and it will only ever be Lucien who has insider knowledge of who her father was and what being human is about.
That SJM retconned Lucien's father so he'd have the power of the sun in his veins and had Elain constantly by the sunniest windows, as if any bit of darkness was abhorrent, claiming that she needs Sunshine.
That Elain has not yet touched or truly gotten to know Lucien. If the author wanted us to see why they were poorly matched, she would have shown them interacting. She would have shown that despite their best efforts to acknowledge their bond, they were just not fitting. Instead, she has Elain keeping Lucien at a distance book after book and I will never believe the answer to that puzzle is because "she doesn't like him," "she's clearly not interested." An author would more likely prevent two mates from interacting in a major way because she knows there is something there. She knows characters like Elain and Lucien need to remain apart because their chemistry will be obvious the second they start really talking.
Because Elain can hear Lucien's heart and because she is the most beautiful female he'd ever seen. Because he knew she needed fresh air when every single other person in the IC just accepted her being cooped up in her room for weeks. There is a connection between Elucien that is never going away and it would ruin any other romance for either character. No matter what Elain might share with someone else, Lucien is always going to hold a piece of her that the other cannot touch.

The Christmas Mission
Kim Chaewon x F!Reader
Warnings: fluff
Word Count: 4k
A/n: 👩‍👩‍👧🎄📝
*. ੈ✩‧₊˚
From the moment I took my first breath, my mom and mama cocooned me in an infinite embrace of love. Life with them was a kaleidoscope of joy—I lived in a world where everything was perfect. Our family might have been small, but in my eyes, it was an entire universe of happiness.
However, that world crumbled when they decided to part ways. I remember the day they sat me down, their voices laced with reassurance, explaining that they wouldn’t share the same home anymore. I was just a five-year-old then, and although they might've thought I didn't grasp the depth of their decision, I knew our lives were about to change irreversibly.
Their separation during those holiday seasons felt like a hurricane ripping through our traditions. Choosing between spending Thanksgiving or Christmas with mommy or mama was an impossible choice. It felt unfair because all I wanted was to see us together, laughing, and sharing those special moments.
So, I devised a plan, a beacon of hope I called The Christmas Mission. I knew deep in my seven-year-old heart that if I could bring them together again, our family could be whole once more. With determination blazing in my eyes, I reached out to Auntie Yunjin, using mama's phone for secrecy. She chuckled softly at my boldness but agreed to help. Auntie Yunjin and I both sensed an unspoken truth—deep within Mama's heart, there lingered a love that hadn't faded for Mommy. And so, The Christmas Mission was a go.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚
Throughout the entire year, I mulled over a meticulous plan, carefully orchestrating it with Auntie Yunjin's invaluable guidance. We decided to set the wheels in motion come September, giving us a precious three-month window to reunite Mommy and Mama.
My strategy was simple yet profound—I wanted Mommy and Mama to reminisce about their past together. Each night, just before bedtime, I would implore Mommy to share stories of their shared history, the moments that stitched their lives together. It was a chance for her to reflect on their beautiful past.
And when I was at Mama's house, I followed the same routine, coaxing her to delve into their cherished memories. Those stories were like fragments of a once-perfect puzzle, scattered but holding the promise of reunification.
"Mommy, can you tell me the story of how you knew you loved mama?" I asked, my voice tinged with a mixture of anticipation and earnestness.
"Alina, I've recounted this tale to you countless times," Mommy replied, a soft chuckle escaping her lips.
"I know, but I love it so much," I insisted, pouting slightly, hoping to nudge her into sharing the cherished memory once more.
"Alright, alright," Mommy relented with a smile, knowing she couldn't resist my plea. "It was during winter," she began, a nostalgic glimmer dancing in her eyes.
It was a whirlwind of activity during winter for idols like Chaewon, schedules packed to the brim with performances and practices. Despite the bustling chaos, Chaewon made a conscious effort to carve out time for us. Our relationship had blossomed over the past three months, the connection growing stronger with each passing day, yet neither of us had mustered the courage to vocalize those three important words.
Before each performance or practice, like clockwork, Chaewon would drop a message, a reassuring beacon in the midst of her hectic schedule. Whether she was en route to work or headed back home, she made sure to keep me in the loop, a constant stream of updates that helped bridge the distance between us.
But amidst her gestures, I sensed her guilt. She knew I often waited for her at the dorm, eager to be by her side. The longing for her presence was palpable, and it seemed mirrored in her own desire to break free from her commitments and just be with me. Her concern for my waiting was a testament to her genuine affection, a silent testament to the emotions yet unspoken between us.
As the holidays drew nearer, a gift arrived in the form of a lighter schedule for Chaewon. Suddenly, she had pockets of time, and those moments became our sanctuary. Nights were no longer dictated by tight rehearsals or packed calendars; instead, they were ours to relish. We'd stay awake, wrapped in the glow of movie screens, concocting treats not just for us but for her fellow group members as well. We immersed ourselves in all those quintessential couple activities, indulging in the sweetness of shared moments.
Then came that overdue date—a special occasion Chaewon orchestrated. It was her chance to lavish me with affection, to express her gratitude for my unwavering support and presence. How could I have possibly said no to her thoughtful gesture? After all, my love for her was steadfast and unwavering.
Our date unfolded like a cherished fairytale. We delved into the vibrant tapestry of Seoul, relishing delicious street food, diving into spontaneous activities, and capturing our laughter in photographs. It was a day painted with hues of perfection, but the canvas of our happiness expanded when she bared her heart.
Amidst the pulsating energy of the city, she turned to me, her eyes brimming with an affection that needed no words to convey its depth. And then, in a moment that echoed amidst the bustling streets, she whispered those three words that altered the rhythm of our universe: "I love you." Those words, so simple yet carrying the weight of an entire galaxy of emotions, wrapped around me like a warm embrace. Feeling the intensity of that moment, I leaned in, closing the gap between us, and our lips met in a tender, affirming kiss. It was a moment suspended in time, a testament to the love we shared, marking one of the top three moments etched in our hearts.
As I sat there, wrapped in the warmth of Mommy's story, my laughter danced in the air while my feet playfully kicked beneath me. In the midst of her storytelling, I caught glimpses of both nostalgia and a hint of sadness lingering in her eyes. Yet, amidst those emotions, there was something more profound—a glimmer of an enduring love she still held for Mama.
The realization that my plan was gaining traction filled me with an indescribable joy. It was working! The threads of their shared past, spun through Mommy's tales, were weaving a tapestry that rekindled something beautiful between them. That glimmer of love, buried beneath the layers of time and change, now danced vibrantly before my eyes.
In that moment, I felt like a silent architect, subtly nudging their hearts to remember what they once had. It was a fragile yet powerful realization, fueling my determination to see my Christmas mission through to its heartwarming conclusion.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚
"Mama, can you pleaseeeee tell me the story of when you proposed to mommy? Pleaseeeeee," I pleaded, my hands clasped together in an emphatic display.
"Of course, baby. Just so you know, it was one of my favorite days," Mama replied with a wink, a gentle smile playing on her lips as she settled into the memory, ready to weave the tale for me.
With bated breath, I listened as Mama began, her voice laced with a nostalgic tenderness that painted vivid images in my mind. Her words carried me to a moment frozen in time, a snapshot of their love story, as she recounted the beautiful chapter of when she proposed to Mommy.
The air crackled with nervous anticipation as Chaewon prepared for the pivotal moment of her life—proposal day. Three years had woven an unbreakable bond between us, and for her, it was the perfect juncture to pledge eternity by your side. You were her world, the axis around which her universe spun, and she couldn't fathom a life without you.
Her meticulous plan had been meticulously crafted, with the assistance of her fellow members, especially Yunjin, who shared a special bond with you. Yunjin's role in the plan was crucial—to distract you throughout the day, giving Chaewon and the rest of the girls the space and time needed to prepare every intricate detail. Everything had to be flawless, just like the love you shared.
As the designated hour drew near, with Yunjin leading me back, all the preparations were set in motion. The stage was meticulously arranged, every element carefully placed to create an atmosphere of magic and love, a space where Chaewon would bare her heart and soul. The energy hummed with anticipation, every detail polished to perfection, all for that one unforgettable moment.
The room seemed to hold its breath, cocooned in an atmosphere pregnant with emotion. Chaewon stood in the center, her heart an orchestra of nerves and unwavering love. The ambiance, carefully crafted with twinkling candles and delicate touches, paled in comparison to the radiance emanating from her.
As Yunjin guided me into the transformed space, my breath hitched in wonder. It was as though the room itself was a canvas painted with the hues of Chaewon's adoration—a breathtaking masterpiece dedicated to our love.
But amidst the beauty, it was Chaewon who commanded attention, her eyes, shimmering with anticipation and vulnerability, locking onto mine. In that charged moment, her voice, soft yet resolute, began to weave a narrative of our shared journey.
"Y/n," she uttered, her voice quivering with unspoken passion. "These years beside you have been my universe, a symphony of laughter, comfort, and an unyielding anchor. You are my everything."
Step by step, she closed the distance between us, reaching for my trembling hand, our souls connected in an unspoken embrace. "Today, amid the echoes of our love, I stand here with a question burning in my heart," she continued, her voice an ethereal whisper carrying the weight of a thousand emotions. "Will you walk this path with me? Will you choose to share your tomorrows with me, painting our story in the canvas of time? Will you marry me?"
Tears shimmered in our eyes, mirroring the overwhelming surge of emotions coursing through us. "Yes," You managed to choke out, your voice trembling with raw emotion, but every syllable dripping with love and certainty.
In that hallowed moment, surrounded by the tender flicker of candles and the symphony of our hearts beating as one, Chaewon slid a ring onto your finger—a circle representing an unbroken promise, a vow to weather every storm together. It was a moment when time stood still, a crescendo of emotions intertwining, marking the genesis of our forever.
The weight of Mama's story settled like a heavy mist, veiling the room in bittersweet nostalgia. Her words carried the weight of regret and longing, painting a picture of a love that had weathered storms but succumbed to the relentless demands of her schedule.
Tears blurred my vision as I wrapped my arms around Mama, her vulnerability tugging at my heartstrings. "You know, Mommy still loves you, right?" I whispered, trying to offer solace amidst the sea of emotions.
Mama's response carried the weight of resignation, a silent acceptance veiled in her words. "No, she doesn't, not anymore. And I'm okay with that. I just want her to be happy," she murmured, the ache in her voice echoing the depth of her love.
But I couldn't bear to see Mama resigned to a love lost. With a newfound determination, I revealed my secret plan, the clandestine scheme that had been brewing in my young heart for the past few months. The confession hung in the air, a revelation poised to reshape their world.
Chaewon's confusion pierced the moment. "What do you mean, a plan?" she queried, her eyes searching mine for answers.
I gazed at her, my cheeks flushing with the weight of my revelation. "For the past three months, I've been coaxing both of you to share stories of your past," I admitted, my voice quivering with a mix of anxiety and hope. "I wanted to rekindle the feelings you have for each other."
Mama's initial shock dissolved into a burst of laughter, the sound filling the room with unexpected warmth. "You, my clever baby, are quite the little schemer," she teased, tickling me playfully, coaxing joyous laughter from deep within me.
In that moment, amidst shared laughter and gentle teasing, I glimpsed a spark of hope flickering in Mama's eyes, a glimmer of possibilities woven by the innocence and determination of a child's heart.
*ੈ✩‧₊˚
It was the moment of truth—I had Mama fully on board with our secret mission. Now, the final act of our plan was set in motion, and I was the lead actress in this grand performance.
With a mischievous glint in my eye, I switched on the blow dryer and directed its warm air to my forehead, feigning the onset of a fake sickness. I knew one thing for sure—Mommy was a whirlwind of concern when it came to taking care of her sick daughter.
"Mommy," I croaked out, playing my part with as much conviction as I could muster.
"Oh, Alina, sweetheart, what's wrong?" Mommy's worry was palpable, her pacing back and forth a testament to her genuine concern for me.
Pretending to be in distress, I murmured, "Call Mama, I want Mama," sniffling to add authenticity to my performance.
As expected, Mommy's concern deepened, and she dialed Mama without hesitation. Mama arrived swiftly, true to the script, while I sat upstairs, ready to play my next part.
"Okay, Mama, I'll pretend to sleep while you have a heart-to-heart with Mommy," I instructed eagerly, feeling like a clandestine agent about to execute a crucial plan.
Mama chuckled at my enthusiasm. "Sure thing, stinker," she said affectionately, ruffling my hair before slipping downstairs to engage Mommy in a conversation that I hoped would rekindle their feelings.
As I lay there, pretending to be asleep, my heart raced with anticipation. This was the moment where the threads of our plan would intertwine, where Mama's words would work their magic in Mommy's heart. It was a scene straight out of a movie, and I was the director behind the curtains, waiting for the climax to unfold.
Quiet as a mouse, I crept to the top of the stairs, my heart pounding with both excitement and nervousness. Peering through the banister's gaps, I listened intently, the hushed tones of Mama and Mommy's conversation drifting up to where I stood.
Their voices, a blend of familiarity and a hint of something deeper, carried a weight of emotions. Mama's gentle words mingled with Mommy's tentative responses, and it was like listening to a symphony, each note resonating with the cadence of their shared history.
Mama's voice, soft yet filled with a wellspring of emotions, carried stories of their past, moments cherished and remembered. She painted a canvas with her words, a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and shared experiences that seemed to transcend time.
As I eavesdropped, I couldn't help but feel a surge of hope. Mama's tales were like tendrils reaching out to rekindle the spark that had once blazed between them. Mommy's responses, though cautious, held a touch of nostalgia and perhaps a flicker of the love that had never truly faded.
It was a delicate dance of emotions, unfolding like a carefully scripted scene. In that quiet space, I was witness to a silent dialogue, a conversation between two hearts seeking to bridge the distance that had grown between them.
Every word spoken was a thread weaving back the tapestry of their shared love, and as I listened, I dared to hope that our plan was working, that the fragments of their past were reawakening something beautiful between Mama and Mommy.
Alina observed from her hidden vantage point, a silent witness to the delicate exchange between Mama and Mommy downstairs. Meanwhile, in another corner of the house, Y/n and Chaewon found themselves in an intimate moment, the air thick with unspoken sentiments.
Chaewon stood by the window, her eyes tracing the contours of the room but her thoughts elsewhere, entangled in a tapestry of memories and unsaid words. You approached your feelings, feeling the weight of years of separation and longing.
"Chaewon," You began, your voice laced with vulnerability and a torrent of emotions.
She turned towards me, and in that moment, the unspoken love that had lingered for so long seemed to spill from our eyes. "Y/n," she responded, her voice a whisper laden with hope and yearning.
Each word carried the weight of our unexpressed feelings. "Despite the passage of time, my love for you has never wavered," You confessed, your voice trembling with the depth of your emotions.
Chaewon's gaze softened, a shimmer of unshed tears reflecting the depth of her feelings. "The love I have for you remains unchanged, a constant amidst the changing tides of life," she admitted, her voice a tender echo of our shared affection.
In that vulnerable exchange, our hearts beat in unison, a symphony of love and longing. With trembling hands, we reached out to each other, fingers intertwining in a silent promise, a silent vow to explore the resurgence of a love that had endured the test of time.
Embraced in each other's arms, our connection felt like a melody, harmonizing with the quiet transformation taking place downstairs between us. It was a moment of tender revelation, a shared confession that spoke volumes of the love rekindled, echoing the quiet whispers of reconciliation weaving through the house.
In that vulnerable exchange, as our emotions swirled like an unstoppable tide, a silent understanding passed between us. Without words, but with a depth of feeling that words could never capture, we leaned closer.
Chaewon's breath mingled with mine, our hearts racing in unison as our lips met in a tender, long-awaited kiss. It was a moment suspended in time, a communion of souls reconnecting after a prolonged separation.
The touch of her lips against mine held the weight of unspoken confessions, the echo of years of longing, and the promise of a future rekindled. It was a kiss that spoke of unspoken vows and a renewed commitment, sealing the unbreakable bond we shared.
As we drew apart, the room seemed to hold its breath, the air charged with the unspoken promises hanging between us. The soft brush of our fingers lingered, a silent reassurance that our hearts had found their way back to each other.
In that tender moment, amidst the quiet intimacy, our embrace conveyed a story of rediscovery and a love reignited. It echoed the hushed whispers of reconciliation downstairs, a parallel journey of two hearts finding solace and hope in the embrace of love rediscovered.
“YES!” The joyous exclamation escaped me before I could contain it, echoing through the house. Quickly realizing my outburst, I covered my mouth, eyes wide with a mix of excitement and surprise. Mama's chuckle washed over me, her voice calming despite my momentary panic.
"Alina, sweetheart, come down here," Mama beckoned, her tone gentle and reassuring. Sheepishly, I descended the stairs, finding them wrapped in a warm embrace, the sight filling my heart with boundless happiness.
"Are you two together again?" I blurted out, unable to contain my curiosity and excitement.
Their laughter filled the room, a harmonious blend of emotions. "Yes and no," Mommy replied with a playful smile. "Your mama here has to take me on a date first."
My eyes lit up with excitement. "Can I plan it like I've planned to get you two back together?" I pleaded eagerly, the prospect of being the architect of their reconciliation sparking a newfound enthusiasm within me.
The sudden realization flickered across Mommy's face, a mix of surprise and intrigue. Her raised eyebrows prompted a moment of shared trepidation between Mama and me, unsure of her reaction.
"What do you mean?" Mommy's voice held a note of curiosity, urging me to explain.
Gathering my courage, I confessed, "Yes, I've had everyone in on the plan, even Mama. I orchestrated everything—the stories, the reminiscing about your past together—to rekindle your feelings for each other." There was a brief pause as I awaited Mommy's response.
She gazed at both of us, a mixture of astonishment and amusement crossing her features. "Chaewon, our daughter is remarkably smart," Mommy exclaimed, her tone a blend of surprise and pride.
"That's what I've been saying! When she told me her plan, I was shocked myself because it was actually working," Mama chimed in, her laughter blending with Mommy's, the tension dissipating into shared amusement.
The confession, once met with apprehension, now became a moment of shared laughter and revelation. It was a testament to the power of a child's earnest desire to see her parents rediscover their love, and it seemed our efforts hadn't gone unnoticed.
The air buzzed with joy as Mommy and Mama enveloped me in a warm embrace, their arms a cocoon of love and gratitude. They peppered me with kisses, their laughter mingling with mine in a symphony of happiness.
Giggles escaped me uncontrollably, a chorus of joy that echoed the newfound harmony in our family. In that tender moment, encircled by their love, I felt a profound sense of contentment knowing that our journey had brought us back together.
Their affectionate gestures spoke volumes, a silent testament to the rekindled love that now flourished between them. It was a scene painted with warmth, laughter, and the reassurance that our bond was stronger than ever.
With hearts brimming with love, we stood united—a family reunited by the unwavering devotion of a daughter and the enduring love between two souls finding their way back to each other.

The anticipation of Christmas filled the air with an infectious excitement, and in the midst of this joyous occasion, I shared a heartfelt wish with Mommy and Mama—a desire for a little sibling. Their surprise at my request was evident, gently explaining that it might be a bit too soon since they had only reunited a month ago. However, they promised to consider it.
On that magical Christmas day, amidst a sea of gifts from everyone, a particular box from Mommy and Mama caught my eye. With bated breath, I opened it, revealing a shirt with the words "Big Sister" printed on it. I couldn't contain my excitement—I jumped and squealed with unbridled joy. "I'm going to be a big sister!" I exclaimed, elation coursing through me.
Mommy and Mama chuckled at my exuberance, but as I rushed to them, tears began to well up in my eyes. Mama gently wiped away my tears, concern etched on her face. "What's wrong, baby? I thought you were happy?" she inquired, while Mommy held me close, offering comfort.
Amidst my sobs, I tried to explain. "I'm just so happy... our family is back together. It's all I've ever wanted for the past two years," I sobbed out, my emotions a whirlwind of overwhelming joy and gratitude.
Their arms around me felt like a fortress of love, a sanctuary where all my hopes and dreams had finally converged. In that poignant moment, the gift of their love and our reunited family outweighed any present under the Christmas tree. It was a moment etched in the tapestry of our lives, one of heartfelt emotions and the joy of a wish fulfilled.
In that moment, held tight within the embrace of Mommy and Mama, amidst the glow of Christmas lights, my heart felt like it could burst with overwhelming emotions. Their love enveloped me, a cocoon of warmth and acceptance that healed every fracture within me. It wasn't just about the joy of soon becoming a big sister; it was the depth of love that had mended the pieces of our fractured family.
Tears of sheer happiness streamed down my face, each drop a testament to the overwhelming gratitude and love I held for them. This Christmas, painted in hues of reconciliation and hope, etched an indelible mark on my soul. It was a chapter of our lives wrapped in the embrace of forgiveness, renewal, and the promise of new beginnings. As we stood there, united and filled with unspoken promises, I knew that this Christmas would forever linger in the tender corners of my heart as a testament to the healing power of love.

with everything you’ve already said about the prototype, I’m kinda wondering how you see him and his motivations for doing what he did. I understand if it’s too spoiler-y, but is there anything you’d like to share about him?
idk how to explain the prototype in the Au, and how much spoiler would it be to talk about it, so 'm going to give some details of my writting in him.
-He wasn't created with a children or even a full person. They took the neurological system of a full formed fetus (brain and spine mostly) and tried to make it grown in a artificial body using the Poppy serum... and they successed.
-Alba suspect this is the method they used with Poppy, but she's not sure (she could find the prototype's file, but Poppy's is still missing).
-The prototype doesn't need to eat or sleep, but the human part in him still need poppy serum to prevent descomposition.
-He never saw himself as human, or even related to them. Since he was ''born'' as what he is, he had no emotional attachment to humans or those that are with them, due the treatment he recieved.
-The original body of the prototype have around the same size of Poppy, after all, he was a prototype of her. Is actual body is... really different.
-hide and go around the factory so easily, he was actually really tiny before.
-''then what about the hand?'' It wasn't part of his original body, he actually made it himself. The doctor and the rest of the scientists were shocked to see it the first time, and after been able to take it out (with some injuries in the scientists) it took him some days to get a new one, its happens like 5 more times before they give up, just deciding to keep him in place were it was less easily to get ''upgrades''.
-the metalic hand is actually the internal part of a grabpack with some alterations, that why it was so easily for him to make a new one each time.
-After see that the prototype was much more advanced that he originally thought, the doctor started to be more insistent in his efforts to discover what was in this creature's mind. But the prototype wasn't been cooperative, so he started to inflict him pain (in form of electroshocks, the only way to hurt a creature that only have a human neurological system)
-His original voice what a artificial one, but after get him caged again after one of his hoodini moment, they discover he was using others toys voices instead of his original one. The Doctor thought this was like when children mimic the grown ups around them.
-But in reality, The prototype was looking to communicate with the others, to make them trust him, to be see him like one of them.
-He have a BIG resentment against Poppy, not really to share this part, but they have more in common that the own poppy wants to admit.
-He's not looking to ''kill'' the other toys actually, only those that insist in believe their past life was more important that their actual life, aka, those that keep their human part with them. Mommy and Huggy were colateral damage from player, but he wasn't going to leave their bodies to root.
-He see Catnap and all the other toys in his side as barbarians, 'cause for him, none of them know how to supress the ''human side'' of them (aka the need of eat, something he doesn't feel).
-That's why Catnap is so slender, he had been trying to follow the prototype's way by starving himself and only drinking the poppy serum (that why he doesn't eat the player when confront him, at least in my au), this doesn't help his already fragile mental state.
-All the bodies from the Hour of joy? Well, when his followers couldn't eat more, the rest was thrown to the main poppy serum pit to prevent descomposition, so the poppy serum that we see all around the game is mixed with human blood, creepy.
-What the fuck did he did with the children?!? Well, that would be spoiler, but let say; there's nothing for player to save here.

May I request an Ominis x reader amoretentia piece? I’ve seen sooo many for Sebastian, and while they’re all amazing, I would love to see some fluffy, maybe flustered Ominis!
warnings: none!
Tumblr media
Y/N carefully stirred the potion in front of her, following the instructions of Professor Sharp to a tee. His voice rang in her head anytime she stood over the cauldron, a shortcut always leads to shortcomings. Y/N adored Potions class, with all its intricacies and challenges. Amortentia. The most powerful love potion in existence–crafted by a bunch of students, Y/N couldn’t see what would go wrong. Students whispered about how the room became fragrant as steam rose from each cauldron, pearl sheen liquid, in characteristic spirals.
Y/N stood beside Ominis, her eyes flickering over to his cauldron every few moments. Professor Sharp suggested to Ominis that studying with Y/N would improve his skills vastly–so one day after class, he approached her. Y/N sweetly replied, willing to help him out. He never noticed how her voice sounded before, he never paid much attention to her throughout his years at Hogwarts.
Just another student.
As the two began meeting to help study for Potions, it turned into hanging out. They ditched the library and would go on walks to collect supplies for next class ingredients. Ominis always stood cautiously at the edge of water as Y/N would collect leeches and tongues from dead toads. Yet, he always ended up running away when she began to chase him with it, autumn leaves crunching beneath their shoes.
Moments spent in the Undercroft, lighting candles to give Y/N more light to read her book. She read the book aloud to Ominis, who began to admire her voice.
In class, Y/N would make sure he gathered the proper ingredients and measurements before crafting. Maybe it was an excuse to feel her hands brush over his or to feel her warmth beside him, as she reached over for a bottle. Last week, Ominis almost created the most putrid odor from adding too many troll bogeys.
Ominis began to appreciate Y/N, more than just a tutor.
“Now, it appears no one has crafted the potion correctly; however, I brewed my own for this very reason.” Professor Sharp announced, his eyes scanning over each cauldron. Y/N sighed at the cauldron in front of her, her cauldron lacking the spiral steam.
“I assure you, Y/N, you most definitely brewed the closest potion to Amorentina in this class.” Ominis leaned over, whispering to her. She smiled, nodding her head.
“Thanks, Ominis.” He knew how much effort she applied towards this class.
“Y/N, let’s begin with you since you seem to have something important to say.” Professor Sharp eyes landed on her.
Ominis wondered what she would smell. The two developed a friendship, but not enough to talk about feelings. He knew some fond childhood memories, while she listened to him ramble about his friendship with Sebastian and Anne.
Whoever she would smell would be deemed lucky.
He heard her footsteps walk towards the professor’s cauldron. “And what do you smell?”
She leaned over, sniffing the potion. It took several wafts before any scent struck her. “I believe I smell…Blown out candles,” She thought for several more moments, “Perhaps autumn leaves and…like a lake.” Y/N pulled away.
Ominis felt his cheeks heat as she spoke. It did not take much of him to put together that they spent moments like those together. He tugged at the collar of his shirt, a sudden rush of warmth washing over him.
Other students shared what they smelt, parchment, rain–he wondered what he would actually smell. The professor called Ominis forward, wafting the smell of the potion towards him.
“I smell dark chocolate,” He announced, his mind flickering to her sharing chocolates with him any time they sat down in the library. “Plums,” The smell of her shampoo, the rich sweet aroma that instantly made him aware she was coming near him. “And…pumpkin.” All she would drink is pumpkin juice. He could hear her lick her lips after several sips.
Poppy nudged Y/N as Ominis spoke, her cheeks red.
Something about admiring Y/N felt like opening a window, letting light into his life. Everything felt better, each day. The warmth, getting kissed by the sunlight he never once felt before her. Ominis sucked in his breath–after class, this would be it.
As they walked out of class together and to the Undercroft, Ominis decided to take a chance. His heart beating rapidly, afraid it might pump out of his chest, his hands grew sweaty. She had her arm linked with his, something they began doing shortly after tutoring. He loved the warmth.
His mind raked with ideas of how to ask her for a date. Too early for Yule ball, there’s always Hogsmeade, even take her to Feldcroft with Sebastian and they can bask in the meadow. Anne always mentioned how beautiful the flowers get. Perhaps Sirona would have an idea of what romance meant, but how would Ominis even convey how he felt about Y/N?
"Y/N, there's something I need to tell you," he said, his voice trembling slightly.
Y/N turned to look at him, her eyes filled with curiosity. "What is it?"
"I know we've been spending a lot of time together, and I just–” “Ominis, did you smell me in the potion?” She interrupted.
“Perhaps–yes,” His voice was shaky. He wished he could see her face, wondering if she was looking at him. Wondering if she wanted to kiss him as much as he was itching to kiss her. He dreamt of what it’d feel like to feel her hands cupping his cheeks, feel her breath against his face, or be in close proximity because of her laugh–be the reason she laughed. He can picture the feeling of her grabbing his hand with every laugh, more gasps of excitement and clamping her hand over his shoulder, playing with the tips of her hair.
“Ominis,” she started, “I like you, a lot.” The infliction in her voice, pure genuine emotions. Her voice filled him with warmth. He felt her hand let go of his arm, running down to intertwine her hand with his.
Relief flooded through Ominis, and he felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. "Really?" he asked, his heart racing with excitement.
"Yes, really," She squeezed his hand. “I just don’t tutor anyone.” She hummed. The sentence made Ominis feel special, wanted,--one of a kind. She held him through the Undercroft, both of their hearts racing.
“Y/N–”
“Can you kiss me?” She whispered. Ominis felt his throat tighten. Nodding his head, he moved his hand to her face. His thumbs caressed her skin before tracing the outline of each of her features. He imagined she was blushing with how warm to the touch she felt. His thumb brushed against her lips before leaning downwards. Her lips tasted of pumpkin juice, just how he imagined.
“Ominis, would you be interested in–”
“Yes.”
She laughed, “You didn’t let me finish.”
“I was hoping it’d be to kiss you again.”
