The Kent Twins

This is a reference post for when I refer to or play the twins as side muses. Please do not reblog. I do take a few minor liberties from S&L canon here and there. If you play one or both of the twins, by all means disregard this -- I will go with your headcanons over mine.

The basics! Jonathan and Jordan Kent are the twin sons of Clark Kent and Lois Lane -- born August 3, 2007. They are the first (and usually only) known pair of Human/Kryptonian hybrids. They initially grow up in Metropolis, but the family moves to Smallville when they are fourteen, shortly after they learn that Clark is Superman.

Face Claim: Jordan Elsass *

Jonathan is the older of the twins, born about an hour before Jordan. Initially he’s the much more laid-back of the twins, with a very easygoing attitude and natural charm. But after moving to Smallville that begins to switch as Jon struggles socially and begins to feel less important than his incredible family. He’s still a good kid, of course, but he begins to lash out more and make some poor decisions out of both a desire to prove himself and to feel safe.

Jon is very athletically gifted, especially when it comes to football. He also a sharp eye and a knack for reading people, much like his mom. His overall personality is very similar to his dad’s, and people in Smallville also say that he reminds them of Clark’s dad -- but since they’ve never met and aren’t biologically related, this is mostly coincidence.

Despite initial suspicions, Jonathan has not inherited any Kryptonian abilities from Clark. While there are some minor biological differences, he’s essentially a standard human. On the flipside, he does not share Clark’s weakness to kryptonite or red sunlight.

Jonathan is named for his two human grandfathers -- Clark’s dad, Jonathan, and Lois’s dad, Sam. He responds to both Jonathan and Jon, with no real preference for either. His looks largely come from Sam, though he has Clark’s blue eyes.

Jon has had a couple serious girlfriends, including Eliza Humphrey in Metropolis and Candice Pergande in Smallville. Neither of them knows the truth about his family.

* Elsass no longer plays Jonathan, but for the time being I am sticking with him simply because I prefer his appearance for the character. There is absolutely no shade towards Michael Bishop here.

Jordan is the younger of the twins, born about an hour after Jonathan. His childhood has more obvious struggle than his brother’s, as he’s prone to meltdowns and panic attacks. Things don’t come quite as easily to him -- he’s academically gifted, but struggles to make friends. At age thirteen, he’s diagnosed with social anxiety disorder. His life turns around somewhat after moving to Smallville -- turns out he’s much more suited to small-town life, and he thrives in the tighter-knit environment.

Jordan is generally quieter and more introverted than his brother, needing more time to get comfortable in a new setting. His personality is closer to his mother’s, though he’s also a lot more like Clark as a teenager than he probably realizes.

At age fourteen, Jordan begins exhibiting his Kryptonian abilities, which begin to develop very quickly. He has the same assortment of powers as his dad, but with less intensity -- where Clark could take a bullet with no physical damage, Jordan would be lightly bruised. This still makes him considerably stronger and faster than a standard human. Jordan also shares Clark’s weaknesses, including kryptonite and red sunlight.

Jordan is subtly named for his Kryptonian grandfather, Jor-El. His looks are almost entirely from his dad, with people in Smallville often commenting that he’s just a shorter Clark with more hair. But he does have Lois’s eyes.

Jordan is head-over-heels in love with Sarah Cortez, the daughter of Lana Lang. Their relationship is mostly steady, but does have some rough patches, mostly when Sarah learns the truth about Jordan’s family.

It has been a lovely weekend away with the family in Meopham at this wonderful house. It made my weekend not only to spend time with the family but also to catch up with @littley1974 , @emmakatiefrost and @truzzimusic . Thank you very much for popping by all of you 😊, I really miss you all and the Medway family 💜. Hopefully it won’t be long till I see you all again 😊. The lockdown has given me a chance to reflect on my time at university. 4 years of university life is finally coming to an end. Now all that is left is to complete my MSc dissertation. I am so grateful for all the opportunities, people, knowledge and networks I have gained from 4 years at the University of Kent. 4 years: Two degrees - BA and MSc, employment, leadership opportunities, university awards, friends and developing my own personal brand and career pathway. I am thankful at this time to have work opportunities leaving university. I am proud of what I have learnt and achieved in the past 4 years and grateful for the support of family and friends. It has been a busy week of lectures and university commitments, although it was lovely to celebrate two birthdays this week and see some of the good old musical bunch from last year! The last few days have been busy with many ups and downs with heading to @cargo_bar_medway to close up and sort out my equipment that was there, including seeing the cellar being shutdown for the final time 😭. We also spent time altogether with the Kent Hospitality staff in Medway before we loose our beloved manager of Kent Hospitality in Medway @samrid78 😭💜. We also had a great comedy night @thedeepend_medway which was very well attended. I went along with my new postgraduate friends from @kentbusinessschool to an international students mixer to chat to everyone, which was lovely 😊.
