Star Knight, Defender of Dreams

been wanting to design my own grown-up Kirby for a while. his mask was partly inspired by this one, originally designed by AriaKey, which is currently used by ksantiago12. 👍

A few headcanons:

All star warriors are born with the power to inhale and float, but as they age, they lose those abilities in favor of wings and greater physical strength. Star Knight has fuzzy moth wings!

Star Knight does not wield the original Star Rod that powers the Fountain of Dreams. That would be horrible for everyone. Instead, he has a replica that's not as powerful, but has the ability to shapeshift into the weapons of Star Knight's previous opponents.

In spite of his increased responsibilities as a star warrior, Star Knight remains playful and easygoing, and hasn't lost his appetite for simple pleasures. (Or food, for that matter.)

Inspired by @jojo-schmo and @malicovkathe with the whole Forgo Knight idea and I had to get this out

This is very quick and very scrappy, but I still had fun with it

This is what I was working on with the face in the corner there being a pain in the puff with making angry growling face ready to murder at an angle with only a small handful of refs for the mouth and angle with that mental image lmao

Here's what I wrote as notes for it, from left to right, cuz the quality of the pic kinda sucks lol:

-Claws! Held in place with tar, sharp

-We all agreed he birb lmao

-When mask breaks (facepaint to make bird hard T-T)

-Whacks sword away, uses claws to attack much like Clawroline

Additional notes I wanna add

-Uses wings to flap very strongly, increases speed by a lot. (You think Super Sonic or Morpho Knight fast?~)

-When he takes flight, the feathers on his wings can fall off like a molting process(kinda like how it looks with Galacta Knight when he flies off screen all dramatically)

-Instead of the birds carrying him off with his captor(Elfilin in this case), he instead growls at Dedede(who can act as a player 2 to Kirby) and zips off with the cage

-Kirby got hurt to prevent him from fighting in the first battle, so it was Dedede and Bandana Waddle Dee. After his first defeat, Meta aimed the cage to capture Bandana before Elfilin shoved the waddle dee out of the way last second. Meta didn't realize that happened as it was in a move seen as desperate.

It's funny that the Kirby fandom looked at Elfilin when they were revealed and were all "this bitch is sus as fuck"

Yep! To be fair, just about a good chunk of Kirby games up until Forgotten Worlds introduced a new character, then subsequently made them a bad guy either at the beginning, or near the end of the game. Most Kirby fans were right to be sussy about that baka.

Before I started pirating switch games I only played like 1 a year bc they’re expensive as fuck and the damn thing has very little storage.

anyways might go and genuinely buy a copy of Kirby and the Forgotten Lands bc this shit is delightful. Then again might not. The one I have works great. It’s exactly like the Kirby GBA game I had way back as a kid except in 3D graphics, even the abilities are the same! How cool! I have not seen any discussion of this game as much as the underoptimized glitch compilations of the recent Pokémon games. Y’all are sleeping on my pink man Kirby. unless this starts to suck in an hour this is just lovely. He’s a car teehee.

We pretty much knew Kirby and the Forgotten Land wasn't going to be properly post-apocalyptic, because while Kirby does routinely fight elder gods, they never actually get to succeed in eradicating all life, but I feel like Nintendo's workaround of "everything is deserted because a high-tech human civilisation captured an alien god, tortured its secrets from it, achieved some sort of post-human singularity and ascended en masse to a higher plane of existence, abandoning their uplifted animal servants to inherit the empty world they left behind" is kind of more fucked up than if everything had just gotten blown up.
