Having failed to reach an understanding with Gawain or with the king and forced to flee for his life, Lancelot finds himself stumbling through the woods lost, injured and left completely alone for the first time since he can recall. As he prays for whatever deity or spirit that may be watching to come to his aid and help him save his friend, his pleas reach ears of someone entirely different and whose help does not come without a price.

(A Kniroun IV bad ending where Merlin takes Lancelot more seriously both as a threat and as an asset and adjusts his plans accordingly).

i don’t think the similarities are perfect ie merlin didn’t raise king arthur & cain isnt as unmatched as lancelot but i do think there’s something there in regards to arthurs backstory more or less. someday i will read every story and then you’ll see
