there were many a valid criticism back in the day about non-latinos making lance say stuff like "¡dios mío!' in their vld fanfictions bc that is typically something only older people say. and most people who did this were not willing to put in more research than that into cuban or even just generally latino culture. however. and hear me out. i think it can work. if we are on purpose making him talk like an old person. i am saying if you're gonna have him go "¡dios mío!" or whatever you should also have him go "oh my word" "oh my stars" "what the devil" "dagnabbit" and other such phrases. it can work. with intention.
