Taylor’s 2008 LGBTQ video

When @empsmd-blog reblogged her CDAN podcast recap about Tay, one line caught my eye: “2009 Taylor taped a PSA for LGBTQ.”

WAIT, WHAT?!?!? [record scratch]

So I found the video. The story is heartbreaking: a 15-year-old trans person of color, Latisha King, was murdered by a white male classmate. (More info here.)

In response, LOGO and GLSEN created a PSA with celebs including Taylor, Janet Jackson, and Portia de Rossi to prevent LGBTQ hate crimes, discrimination, and bullying.
