I weep for the Retrospective YouTuber who got into TMNT Fast Forward first. He’s both my Junior and a similar critic. I just bought the whole TMNT character package and didn’t judge until Back to the Sewers.

Blind |Naruto Men X Uchiha!Reader| HC
Tumblr media
Characters: Kakashi Hatake, Shikamaru Nara, Sasuke Uchiha, Naruto Uzumaki, Madara Uchiha, Hashirama Senju
Summary: How they handle their partner losing their sight due to the effects of the Mangekyo Sharingan.
Warnings: Mentions of fem, but not very relevant. Mentions of war and loss of sight.
- - - - -
Kakashi Hatake
Tumblr media
He knew the day would come when the Sharingan would take your vision, but he didn't know it'd be so soon.
There were no other eyes available to you at the moment, so eternal was not an option.
Not that'd you do it anyway. It was highly against your beliefs to partake in the Uchiha nonsense that was eye swapping.
Something that drew Kakashi towards you in the first place.
You'd been preparing for this day since you first awakened your mangekyo.
You'd memorized the layout of your apartment, practiced roaming the village in a blind fold, and learned braille.
You'd been coping well, Kakashi... not so much.
He couldn't deal with the knowledge that you'd sacrificed your vision for the sake of the village.
You'd given up everything during your years as a shinobi, and this was the icing on top of the cake.
He'd watch you every day.
Watch you drag your hands across the walls of your apartment. Watch you walk a bit too far past the stall in the market. Watched you struggle to do simple things like grocery shopping.
Over time, you'd become worse and worse at eye contact, and that ate him alive.
There were no more longing looks or sneaky glances. Even your attempts to appear as if you could see were slowly declining, and it dampened his mood every time.
He felt as if he'd failed you. If only he'd been stronger, you wouldn't have had to overuse your doujutsu.
But he stayed quiet because you seemed happy. You were alive and safe and happy, and that's all he could ask for.
Shikamaru Nara
Tumblr media
After the war, your vision had completely vanished. There were no blurry shapes or deaf perception problems because there was simply no sight.
There was no time to prepare. You hadn't planned on having to use the mangekyo so much in battle, and the price was astronomical.
He tried to help where he could, but you were being stubborn, constantly rejecting any aid he tried to provide.
"Just let me-"
"I told you I can do it myself."
"No, you can't, just let me-"
And that's when he felt the sobs rack through your body. Tears quickly fell down your face and your hands couldn't keep up.
He sighed and forced everything out of your hands.
"I can't do anything anymore."
"That's not true."
You scoffed, a bitter laugh leaving your lips.
"I can't go grocery shopping or cut fruit or put dishes away without running into everything or breaking something or,"
"Give it time. It'll get better."
"Two weeks ago, I was a shinobi. Today, I'm just a blind girl who can barely feed herself."
Shikamaru wasn't sure what to do. Strategy was easy becausebit was all factual. Feelings, though? So many variables he didn't know where to start.
He confided in Kakashi at some point, but wasn't too pleased with the advice he got it.
"Let her figure it out. She's a smart girl."
Despite thinking it was a stupid suggestion, he listened.
Slowly, over time, you'd regained your confidence and became the capable person you had previously been.
Doesn't stop Shikamaru from uncharacteristically babying you sometimes, though.
Sasuke Uchiha
Tumblr media
He offered you his eyes, but you declined.
You weren't fond of Uchiha tradition despite being raised by it. Taking his eyes just felt like you'd be starting the new age Uchiha clan off on the wrong foot.
So you chose blindness.
It was difficult at first, but you quickly learned to get around and help yourself with little to no issue.
You'd gone from stumbling around the kitchen to making yourself breakfast within a few months.
Living with out sight wasn't too bad, and you'd grown accustomed to it. You felt like you'd made the right decision.
Until your first son was born.
It wasn't the parenting aspect that you found difficult, it was the emotional one.
When Sasuke told you your son looked just like Itachi, you knew you'd have to see for yourself.
So, you allowed Sakura to do the transplant.
Within seconds after the bandages were off and you had time to adjust to light, your sight was fully restored.
Sasuke brought in your baby, and wouldn't you know it? He looks exactly like Itachi.
The sharingan is based on strong emotions, yeah? Maybe you can base it on love in the new Era.
Naruto Uzumaki
Tumblr media
Unlike the others, Naruto finds the whole eye transplant thing horrendous.
"What do you mean by that, huh? You freaks just trade eyes like around? That's the worst thing I've ever heard."
Although he wasn't happy with your newfound loss of sight, he wasn't one to label anything as a downside.
A setback? Sure. Negative? Never.
Hes overall very patient about it, even if in the moment he gets a little ahead of himself.
He's always forgetting that you're blind, so he'll ask you to look at things all the time.
"Hey, what's this?"
You just shrug. He may or may not bring your hand to the object to get a feel, but he mostly just gets embarrassed and drops it.
It honestly hadn't really dawned on him until he asked you to go train with him and you'd refused.
Sure, you could overtime work yourself up to be a shinobi again, but at this point in your life, that just wasn't the dream anymore.
Madara Uchiha
Tumblr media
He thinks you're being stupid.
This world is all about power and you're choosing to be blind?
Idiotic.
You may be his wife, but he ignores you for quite some time after you make it clear there will be no eternal in your future.
It's an easy justification for him; he doesn't mingle with the weak.
Life gets pretty lonely after he decides to completely shut you out. Yeah, he sees Hashirama and makes his round through the compound, but it's not the same.
It isn't until he sees you in the village, going about life as you had months ago, that he starts to think maybe he was too hasty.
After all, he had married you for many reasons, and a big one was how skilled you were at adapting.
That night, when he finally returns home, he decides to sleep in your marital bed, not in the guest room.
The next day, he joins you for breakfast.
He came home early from his duties for the first time in a while.
He even started speaking to you once again.
You don't say anything right away. You know how he is about changing his mind, and you aren't willing to push your luck.
Things slowly get better over the span of a few weeks, and that's when you decide it's time to question him.
"I take it you've come to terms with my decision?"
"Of course not. I still think you're a fool."
Just the answer you'd expect.
"But I have missed you dearly."
You smile at him.
Hashirama Senju
Tumblr media
The eternal was never something either of you had considered, so when your vision eventually dulled, it was fully expected.
Times were peaceful at the moment, so he had no need to worry for your safety.
You were almost always near someone willing to lay their life down for you- himself, Tobirama (reluctantly), or Madara - so there truly was no need to stress.
He helped as much as he could while also attending to his duties as Hokage.
Unlike Naruto, he had true patience. He happily held your hand every step of the way.
It wasn't long before your life was back on track, no longer burdened by the anxiety that came with cluelessness.
While Hashirama had preferred it never come to this in the first place, he was happy that things had worked out as best as they possibly could.

Toss A Coin To Your Writer <3
Iruka had spent the last few weeks laboriously preparing to take over as the Acadamy’s new principal. From going over the lesson plans, ordering new textbooks, and working alongside his precursor learning the ropes, he barely had a moment to himself. What little time he didn’t spend working himself into exhaustion, he would use to hang out with Naruto or allow himself a few precious moments to relax.
The time that was reserved for Kakashi after all of that was fleeting and far too rare for the Rokudaime’s liking. The two of them shared a home and a bed, yet it felt like forever since Kakashi had sat down and properly enjoyed Iruka’s company. When he had imagined his life as a married man, barely seeing his own husband was not a problem he had foreseen in his future.
“He’ll be surprised, that’s for sure,” after a morning of paperwork and listening to rotten old corpses who continued to haunt his life, otherwise known as Homura and Koharu, Kakashi needed a break. Not even Shizune had attempted to stop his escape from the Hokage’s residence, possibly out of pity for the two-hour lecture about ‘destroying Konoha’ he had just sat through.
There was only one way to bring just a sliver of happiness into his day and that was Umino Iruka.
“Today he’s getting his new office, so I might find him there.” With that thought, Kakashi turned down the Acadamy hallway towards the principal's office. A place he knew the path to even with his eyes closed.
His own time at the academy had been short, but with Gai and Obito as his classmates, he had spent his fair share of time in that office. The look of resigned disappointment on his Father's face still haunted him to this day. Every time he would have to pick him up, there would be a lecture waiting for him from his mother when they returned home. One he probably should have paid attention to, but never did.
“One day, Hatake Kakashi,” his mother shook her head when the lecture was complete and tapped two fingers against his temple. “You will learn how to make friends like a normal person.”
He never had, though he’s certain his mother had come to enjoy that fact over the years. Making friends like a normal person meant having normal friends, and not one of his friends could be considered anything close to normal.
In fact, they might be insulted if someone were to suggest that they were. Even Iruka was the furthest thing from ‘Normal’ he could think of, and he was the most balanced and well-rounded person in Kakashi’s life other than his mother.
“Where the heck am I supposed to put this!?” His husband's voice echoed through the hallway. Sensing an incoming crisis, he quickened his pace. It wasn’t uncommon for Iruka to stress too much over little things but judging by the anguished groan that followed his complaint this wasn’t a simple issue of paperwork or organization.
A wrench had been chucked into the office layout Iruka spent the last three days agonizing over and Kakashi needed to make sure that his husband didn’t dwell too much on it. Otherwise, this surprise visit would turn into a de-escalation session. Not the way he had imagined spending his break.
Coming to a stop in front of the office door he raised a hand, ready to knock like a regular person when Iruka let out a shrill scream. Dismissing any thoughts of being normal for five seconds, Kakashi slipped into attack mode. With a firm shoulder check, the door slammed open, wood splintering into the air when the wall broke under the pressure of the door lock crashing into it.
Flipping open his weapon’s pouch, he grabbed the kunai he kept inside and twirled it around his finger, only stopping it when his hand was at face level.
Ready to attack whoever or whatever had caused Iruka to scream, he scanned his eyes over the room. What he found waiting for him, was absolutely nothing. Other than a few boxes, some stray textbooks, and a very irate Iruka glaring kunai at him, there was nothing of note in the office.
Well, there was one thing of note, but he found it unlikely that it was what had caused Iruka to scream.
“So,” relaxing his posture, he stared at the enormous Dolphin stuffy taking up the whole surface of Iruka's new desk. It has his husband's name sewn on the side of its body and a little scar above its  smiling mouth to match the scar over Iruka’s nose“, the new furniture looks nice.”
If he didn’t know any better, he’d say he had gotten the gift. It matched his dumb humour perfectly, but he would never get a stuffy that looked like it could be used as a couch. That was a little extreme.
“New fu- Hatake Kakashi don’t you dare give me that innocent act!” Storming towards him, Iruka jabbed a finger into his chest. “First you get me a stuffy so big that it takes up the whole office-”
“Wait, I didn’t get this!”
Iruka ignored his protest, shoving his finger into his chest a little harder. “And then you break my new office door trying to play hero,” cringing, he glanced back at the door in question. ‘Break’ was a mild way of putting it. The lock jamb had been torn right out of the wall, leaving nothing remaining for the lock to click into. “And what were you going to do with that Kunai, Lord sixth?" Another poke forced him to take a step back. “Were you going to stab the big scary stuffy?”
“Well,” he spared the dolphin a glance, twirling his kunai a bit for show. “I could.”
Iruka’s eyes buldged out. “D-don’t you dare!” his hand surged towards the blade, snatching it from Kakashi’s hand and chucking it into the wall behind his pretty new desk. An impressive throw for a man who was so flustered he was stuttering. “You can’t- I won’t- Why would you…”
Placing both hands on Iruka’s shoulders he offered a playful closed eyes smile. “Iruka, I promise it was a joke.”
His husband muttered something under his breath, but he didn’t quite catch the words. While he had a sense of smell comparable to an Inuzuka, his hearing was more human. Possibly even worse than most humans after years of using his Chidori. The sound of a thousand chirping birds was rather painful when it was right there beside his ear, after all.
“Now about,” his eyes flickered over to Iruka’s new ‘friend’. “Your little gift. It’s not something you think I actually got for you, right?”
His question is greeted with a look he knows all too well. The ‘Lie to me and you’ll be sleeping at your mother's Look.
“Iruka, I swear. I have no idea what wonderful, beautiful mind came up with-” one more glance at the stuffy and something finally clicked in his mind. A memory he had all but forgotten until now.
Flopping back against his mother’s couch, Kakashi stared up at the ceiling as if it held the answers to all of the questions dancing around in his mind. If only that were true. Then he could stop stressing over trivial things and focus on his job.
“You look pathetic,” his mother's face appeared above him, a sympathetic smile appearing on her lips when the only response he offered was a groan. “Are you and Iruka fighting?”
“No.”
“Good,” she disappeared, a pillow colliding with his face just seconds later. “You always look like a wounded puppy when you two fight.”
“Mother…”
“I’m just pointing out the obvious,” she defended herself, taking a seat in the armchair across from him. “So, if you two aren’t fighting then what is it that has you so glum today?”
“I’m not glum, I just-” there was a list of words running through his mind, but none of them matched his current mood quite right, so instead of trying to correct her he decided to just tell her what was going on. “I need to get Iruka a gift.”
“A…gift?” she repeated, confusion evident in her voice. “If I recall correctly Iruka’s birthday Isn’t until May twenty-sixth. Three months from today,” Too exhausted to speak after a full day of meetings, Kakashi gave an affirmative hum. “And your anniversary is not for sixth months,” another hum, this time a little softer. “Then, why exactly do you need to give him a gift?”
“It’s standard procedure,” he answered as if that did anything to actually answer her question. “Iruka is being promoted to the principal of the Acadamy. When a Shinobi receives a promotion of any kind it is customary to give them a gift to celebrate.”
Not necessary, but any friend who failed to offer even a small gift would be scolded by everyone else. A husband though?
If he didn’t get Iruka a gift their friends would never let him hear the end of it. He would be the worst husband in Konoha’s history. He was already going to be the worst Hokage, since Danzo died before officially taking the title, he couldn’t be the worst husband as well.
“Well, I’m sure we could think of something,” his mother offered her aid without hesitation. “Perhaps something to decorate his new office with?”
A decoration. Something to bring a little colour into Iruka’s new workspace. It wasn’t a bad idea, Kakashi just couldn’t think of something that would work. A p[icture would be nice, but coming from Kakashi it was a rather basic gift. Something he had given Iruka plenty of over the years. There was already a selection of pictures around their house, and he had no doubt Iruka would be snatching one or two for his office.
Perhaps a cute statue, but then the decision of what type of statue to get was endless. From elegant and meaningful to silly and downright ridiculous.
“Maybe I’ll just get him a stuffy,” he was half-joking. Iruka had an army of stuffed animals thanks to all of the festival games Kakashi had played and won over the years, all in the name of a challenge with Gai. “A couch-sized Dolphin with a scar over its giant mouth.”
His mother chuckled. “That would certainly be an eye-catching gift.”
“Mmm,” turning onto his side so that he was facing the couch back, he dared to close his eyes. “Maybe a nap will help me clear my head.”
“If you say so,” a blanket dropped over him a second later, as if his mother had predicted this exact outcome. “I’ll have tea ready when you wake up.”
Oh.
“So, I might have lied,” the look Iruka gave him would kill a weaker soul. “Not on purpose!”
“How do you lie, but ‘not on purpose’?” Iruka asked with doubt in his voice. “Did you or did you not get me a couch-sized dolphin stuffy?”
“I did,” Iruka narrowed his eyes. “I mean, physically I did not pay for it or deliver it to your office.”
“Kakashi…”
“But I might have made a joke-”
“A joke?” a slight twitch in Iruka’s left eye told Kakashi to run for it. To save himself and get out of there as fast as he could, but he refused. Whatever few working survival instincts he had going off in his head at this moment were ignored in favour of hopefully saving his marriage. “Does that-” Iruka jabbed his finger towards the giant stuffy behind him. “Look like a joke to you!?”
“Well, it was a lot funnier in my head,” there was an entire conversation he was going to have to have with his mother about jokes and other people’s inability to understand their terrible sense of humour. If he made it out of this office alive. “See, I told my mother I’d get you a couch-sized Dolphin stuffy to celebrate your promotion. I…I don’t think she understood I was joking.” That or she was being a troll at his expense. A very likely possibility.
After all, he hadn’t gotten his more chaotic nature from his father.
“Yua-San,” all hints of anger dropped from Iruka’s face at the mention of Kakashi’s mother, otherwise known as Iruka’s favourite person, right after Naruto of course. “She got me-” his eyes shot back to the giant stuffy. “That?”
“Ma, I’m sure she’ll understand when we send it back though.”
Iruka rounded back to him, panic in his eyes. “N-no! We can’t!”
Tilting his head, Kakashi studied his husband's face. Searching for any hint of the anger he had been directing Kakashi’s way just moments ago.
There was nothing. All the irritation had washed away, all because Kakashi’s mother was the gifter of the most ridiculous-sized stuffy in existence, instead of Kakashi himself.
“Figures,” he sighed, dropping his head forward with an air of defeat looming over him. “You always liked my mom more than me.”
Perhaps because they could tease Kakashi together or maybe she just had a personality Iruka liked more. (Even though Ninety-nine percent of Kakashi’s personality came from her according to anyone who had ever met both of them.)
“That’s not true!” he narrowly avoided taking a fist to the top of the head by stepping around Iruka at the perfect moment. “Kakashi!”
“It can’t be helped,” making his way to the stuffy, he leaned forward to examine its face a bit closer. “Don’t worry, Iruka. I won’t hold it against you for too long.”
Just for the rest of their lives, or until Iruka made it all up to him with a nice date and all of the cuddles he could ask for.

Book two of the mock Icha Icha collection as Hatake Kakashi x Umino Iruka anthologies; Icha Icha Violence. This one was actually 20k longer than the first one, so she's a bit heftier. I'm trying to arrange specific fics to match the titles at least vaguely; so for violence, I decided to go for jutsu mishap/chakra related fics since they're often the result of violent interactions? That totally works, yup. 100%.
I'm actually inordinately pleased with this book since I found I had close to zero mishaps while working on it and the bookboard is basically perfectly spaced from the textblock like a normal book. It's always great to start to be able to streamline what works the best for you in any hobby and this book really helped in cementing some techniques.
If you want to see the post about the Icha Icha Paradise book, go here.
Update Oct 18 2022: designs painted on and photos replaced to show that, except the layout got fucked up and tumblr refuses to let me fix it.
And as always, here's the list of fics from the icha icha violence anthology:
The Odd Couple (12k, M)
Iruka and Kakashi are forced to share a body.
Touch you, that is all (13k, E)
He held out a hand in front of him and realized with a disconnected sort of wonder that he could see straight through his palm. That could not be good.
Or, Iruka gets hit by a jutsu that knocks him out of his body, and Kakashi is one of the few people who can still see him.
A kind of idiot (19k, M)
Iruka can't remember anything and Kakashi gets the job of looking after him until he does. Why did Tsunade choose Kakashi? What happened to Iruka in the first place? Why shouldn't men in green bodysuits spoon? The answers lie within.
Resonance (21k, M)
After being hit by a missing-nin's jutsu, Kakashi's chakra is never the same again.
Pilgrim Soul (26k, E)
Shizune looks between them, eyes wide. “Tsunade-sama… Their chakra-”
Tsunade’s eye twitches. “Explain. Now.”
Second Life (28k, T)
Iruka had been having the dreams for as long as he could remember. After his parents’ death they had gone away for a time; then they’d come back with a vengeance, and he had spent the whole year he was fifteen in a haze, not sure whether he was re ally Iruka or whether he was another, younger boy who skipped stones and laughed and still had a living father.
