Hello, everybodyyy!!! This is my side blog (I'll consider putting my main blog here in the future), which is going to be for roleplaying, and a bit of art then and there!

I'm an [age regressed!] adult with ADHD/who is Neurodivergent! I consider myself a hikikomori, asocial fella who suffers from social anxiety T0T also a bit touch starved hehe 👉👈

My regressed age is about 7-10! But my true age is 19 ^^

I'm genderfluid, and use any prns (She/He/They)! I'm also Greyromantic, Demisexual, Polyromantic and Bicurious!

I'm in a constant state of sleepiness, and a bit of a softie, who likes plushies, fresh/flowery/soapy/baby scents, soft blankets, feeling clean and warm, and comforting pampering ^^

I love to draw, read and listen to music in my free time! Oh, and play with my favorite plushie lol XD

My favorite animal is raven! My favorite color is red, white and black! My favorite food/drink is pasta, chocolate and coffee! My favroite music genres are classical/dubstep/breakcore/vocaloid/electronic (im srs yall i like everything💀)

Some of my icks/dislikes: feeling cold, being in public, talking when I'm sad/angry, bugs, feeling tired, (which is always😒), little children, people touching my plushie, feeling lonely, loud noises/yelling, people being inconsiderate/non-understanding/judgemental, feeling dirty

Last movie: The latest Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan. I quite quite liked it, finally a Porthos that's not a caricature!

Last show: ... Supernatural... (My mom is living her SuperWhoLock phase and I'm an unwilling victim, I'm there for Castiel.)

Craving: Ice cream. Lots of ice cream. But I overdid it with lactose the last days, so it's a forbidden craving for now T_T

What are you wearing right now: Green leggings, rainbow socks, a blue shirt and an oversize dark blue sweater.

How tall are you: Around 166cm? I can't do imperial measurements, sorry!

Piercings: Three in my ears, but I never wear earrings so most people think I don't have any, LOL.

Tattoos: I have at least three projects for tattoos, but I still haven't found the parlour nor the guts, and money always gets into something more urgent.

Glasses? Contacts? Glasses. I tried contacts but I find them incredibly uncomfortable, I always get a headache when I try to read with them on so what's the point.

Last drink: Tap water.

Last thing you ate: A plain tortilla because again, lactose intolerance brings for very, very sad snacks. :(

Favorite color: Purple! The dark Perywinkle that's the background of the picture on my pinned post. Also the deep emerald green in my profile picture. Any phthalo colour. ... I love jewel colours and hate pastels.

Current obsession: As if anyone hasn't noticed. I'll go for something non-fandom and non-Dragon Age, but food. covid medication fucked me up with intolerances, so I'm cooking a lot of indian vegan food following the recipes of a blog (thank you ms Manali!). I'm obsessed with Baingan Bharta served on top of some Jeera Pulao.

Any pets: Sadly none, at the moment. :(

Favorite fictional character: Only one? Oh damn.

Zuko from ATLA. Boromir from LOTR (and Sam of course). Beatrice from Much Ado About Nothing. SIR GAWAIN. Javert and Enjolras from Les Mis (musical. I'll read the book, eventually). Margarita from Master and Margarita.

3. 3 films you could watch for the rest of your life and not get bored of?

Ok, Im not all that great on films, but the only one I can think of are the The LOTR movies. They are 3. do they count? :D

10. would you say you’re an emotional person?

Hah, what a question... I will be honest with you: I am terribly emotional, that's why I am very, very reluctant in terms of being 'emotional' in front other people , other than those Im very close with :)

On the outside, if you ask people who know me, they will say Im a person who is very calm under stress, taking the lead in difficult situations, proposing solutions instead of freaking out, not prone to anger.

On the inside, I'm a total mess :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) but nobody has to know. :) :)

29. what do you do when you’re sad?

Usually, I get creative. I draw, l listen to music, I just go outside and take a walk at the park. I go to my comfort zone, with is either artistic creation or my favourite headcanons :)

33.any hobbies?

Okay, so I guess I'll stick to the ones I've never gave up:

Reading fantasy novels. I've been reading, like, since... a kid. All the time? My parents were teachers, so I was encouraged to pick up literature at a very early age. Sooo I guess I've read a lot of non fiction and fiction over the years, but my strong preference during most of my adult life are fantasy novels. ( and a bit of romantasy, as of late, as I am a sucker for a good written romance). I love Steven Erikson, Anthony Ryan Jany Wurts, Lois McMaster Bujold, C.S. Friedman, well I could go on and on and on. Actually, please someone tag me on a books ask, I can talk books for hours :D

Playing the piano! Its one of the things that I turn to from time to time, and even though I never managed to be a great player, I still play quite often for fun. I love the Russian School ( rachmaninoff, tchaikovsky), I love the modern composers like Nyman and Einaudi , and I really also enjoy adaptations of quite a lot Anime/ JRPGs ( Japanese composers, you are a gift on this world)

Painting/ Drawing :) I guess this is how I would identify first as an artist, although to be fair I always struggled with techniques. I havent drawn anything in a while, because I felt kinda...demotivated with my art :)

I've recently picked up writing. On a whim. Who knows where this would lead. :)

Hmmmmmm… I don’t typically ship canon stuff. Let me think… a little nsft lol but anyone who looks me dead in the eyes and says Vegeta fucked more than once if he even has are wrong. That man is so virigincore before Bulma. It’s ok they work it out though.

🌿 ⇢ give some advice on writer's block and low creativity

I try to take small breaks, though I do want to try writing once a day at some point when my mental health is better. I know it’s like “why not start now” and it’s just I’m in a lull right now of creativity lol. I’ll get there eventually! I do have two db fics in the works (as well as my lotr wip already published, though I don’t know when I’ll update it heh……)

Anyway, I say def listen to a lot of music. Read books, honestly do anything that’s creative with a story involved. It’s never a bad thing to draw inspiration from things :) Right now I’m taking a short break to hang it with a friend, but I plan to write again sometime this weekend. Just let your imagination run wild!

Fun fact about me it’s REALLY hard for me to actually hate characters. Like truly genuinely. Unless they did something truly irredeemable I usually at least tolerate them. Even db rn I haven’t truly hated a character, I find them all charming in some way.

But if I HAD to say, I’ll go for db since yknow.

Master Roshi. We all know why he’s here lol. I’ve become desensitized to the old man pervert trope long before seeing him, but still. He’d be such a catch otherwise, cause

-He is a good teacher. He gave Tien the reigns to become a better person, he made sure Goku n Krillin stayed humble, he had them do good things for people as their training. It’s admirable.

-While sometimes he does lament the fact that he used to be the strongest, he also desperately still wants to help even when things are hopeless and out of his power range. The way he wants to help with Z threats is so sad, you can tell he feels awful about not being able to do anything.

-He has cool drip. Goku is right to take his sunglasses all the time I would too

Tagged by @aeide like....29 days ago. Cool. A lot of stuff happened lately and also I had to think about this and remake the list at least 7 (now 9) times. So. This is probably not true but it has old favorites and current bias and I’ve put far too much thought into this. Under cut because of gifs causing loading/flashing. Uhhhhh. I feel weird about tagging this, since it’s been so long. I can’t remember who has done it and who hasn’t. Gonna tag folks who I don’t remember seeing. If you’ve done it, or you don’t want to, that’s cool! Sorry I took forever with it. @blue-mono, @cataliinaa, @whereforartthoumisthios, @fikali, anyone else who wants?

1) The Hours

It has music by Philip Glass! Meryl Streep plays a queer woman and that was important to me as a teenager. It’s very sad but it is always there for me when I feel bleak. It’s just a part of my psyche and I can’t really explain it at this point.

2) Lord of the Rings 2: The Two Towers (Extended Version)

Every Thursday for about 8 years the closest group of cousins and I would watch a movie while we had our piano lessons and most of those years we just watched LOTR 2 and 3 extended versions. Every Thursday. For about 8 years. 2/4 people (including me) are most likely autistic, yes. 2/4 (not including me) can play the piano. We are very annoying about LOTR. Anyways, look! It’s Haldir! The first man I loved to die of a weapon through the head. Yeah. I love that guy. Also, this film has great french horn!

3) Pride and Prejudice (2005)

I cannot express how much I love this movie. I cannot explain all the things about it I love. I cannot. Music is by Dario Marianelli (I can play to the second page of the score to “Living Sculptures of Pemberly” on piano. It only took 5 years), Directed by Joe Wright, Kiera Knightley stars as Elizabeth Bennett. I adore the dresses, the hair, the casting, the music, the fact that Simon Wood’s hair continued growing red after filming, the statues in Pemberly, the tiling on the floors in Pemberly, the way Mary plays the piano, Georgiana, Darcy’s sideburns, the HAND FLEX, the weird pig scene, The flower Tom Hollander holds, the nod to Henry Purcell, ect. 4) Anna Karenina (2012)

Dario, Joe, Kiera, and a train walk into a movie. Do not get me started.

5) The Parent Trap (1998)

I saw this as a kid and made my mom watch it with me over and over and over again. She didn’t mind. She thinks she’s like Chessy, but she’s not. She doesn’t cook, for one. And she doesn’t wear a denim shirt. I do though. We still quote this to each other. Formative.

6) A Place Promised in Our Early Days

An earlier Makoto Shinkai movie. The plot is confusing and boring if I’m honest. The background animations are breathtaking. If you like anime but also like realism in art, I’d highly recommend any Makoto Shinkai movie for visuals.

7) The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015)

Do you ever just want to eat a sandwich and listen to old italian music and watch your enemy best friend and lover drown? No? huh. Amazing soundtrack! Spy drama! COSTUMING. It makes me laugh! Henry Cavill! Solo/Kuryakin/Teller should be canon. I was pretty upset about the whole Armie Hammer thing, tbh, because I really wanted a sequel to this. But I’m ok with that not happening.

8) Fly Away Home

The first media I wallowed in. Would rewind to the scene with Mary Chapin Carpenter’s “10,000′s miles” and sit way too close to the screen. When we got it on dvd my life changed. I could just press the button!? I didn’t care about the geese, really. I cared about the deep grief this kid was having. Someone probably should have questioned why I was watching it on repeat and gotten me into therapy a lot earlier. All in all, it’s a pretty movie.

9) A Single Man

I love this movie but I gotta admit I skip around watching it. It’s so depressing, I can’t watch it all at the same time. I like the music a lot, good cello. I love watching Colin Firth be miserable. I like crying with George. I don’t give a shit about Charley (except for her house and dress. Sorry Julianne Moore.) I hate Kenny. I want to live in George’s house. I want to live there. It is the J.W. Schaffer House. It’s a modernist house built in 1949 by John Lautner. I want to lick touch that woodwork. UGH. The glass. UGH. I love it. UGH. It’s such an impractical house. UGH. It’s so dumb. UGh. I want to go lay down on the floor, surrounded by books, in that house. uGH.

10) Underworld

What a dumb movie. Somewhere in my mom’s house is a Windows XP with a folder of photos of Selene that I thought were really cool, for some reason that I couldn’t figure out. That computer also has viruses from badly pirating the movie in 2008. I thought it was the coolest thing I’d ever seen and probably the first R rated movie I snuck. On this list because of the family computer destruction. And the ‘armor’, if you can call it that.

This got really long, so it's going under a read more. It's about the potential death of an ex-family member (after finding out about a recent heart attack) and briefly mentions suspected abusive behavior.

My not-uncle-anymore R (ex-husband of my aunt J) is in the hospital. He had a heart attack two days ago. I found out yesterday. I was told he hadn't woken up yet.

He has a pacemaker, so they can't do scans*. They were supposed to do a test yesterday (something about wires on his head) and we were supposed to get the results in the evening. Apparently there is an increase in heart rate when music is played or people are speaking.

I haven't heard anything since yesterday afternoon outside of J's fb post (posted shortly after they were supposed to get the results) that said "(my cousin's) dad had a heart attack yesterday afternoon. He was taken by ambulance to the ICU. He hasn't woken up, his brain activity is almost nothing, he is on a ventilator and has developed some other complications."

My feelings on all of this are... very complicated.

J and R got married when I was about 13. They both already had many other children (nearly all boys) before getting married, and had one boy (the cousin previously mentioned) together during their marriage. Then they got divorced when I was about 21. It's been a little over 10 years since then.

I first met R at the reception. He found out I liked LOTR and showed me his Sting letter opener. He was into heavy metal. I thought he was incredibly cool.

We really only saw each other at family gatherings, and- due to us both being black sheep of the family- quickly became the other person's "I'm only going if (the other one) is going to be there." He introduced me to Twisted Sister's Twisted Christmas album. Which is one of only two Christmas albums I'll still listen to. He was so fun. I thought it was great that there was someone of an older generation that I really got along with.

But there's a reason J and R got divorced. I don't really know what. I've asked three times and gotten different answers each time.

The first time, I was told by my mom that it was because they just couldn't agree on how to raise their kids. In a tone that told me to not ask questions. I was raised mormon, so I was very good at not asking questions. For a while.

The second time, I was told that he was... very physical and overdid it when disciplining the kids. Supposedly, they got pretty hurt on more than one occasion. J obviously wasn't comfortable talking about it, so I didn't push for more information.

The third time, I was told that he wasn't abusive, he was just too immature. Maybe he'd roughhoused a little too rough with the boys a few times, and they'd gotten hurt, but it wasn't intentional or out of anger. J had decided that he was just too childish to be a dad to her kids. She still wasn't very comfortable talking about it, but assured me that he wasn't evil or anything.

I stayed fb friends with him for a few years. He mostly talked about going to metal concerts and the company he worked for that was trying to get more metal bands signed with record labels.

And then politics became something that everyone was talking about. Suddenly, R started posting more and more about the first and second amendments. Posted lots of pictures of the American flag. The term "snowflakes" was used whenever he talked about how ungrateful and soft young people are nowadays.

I quietly unfriended him and haven't spoken to him since.

I still have fond memories of R. I was sad to find out that he wasn't as great as I'd thought he was. And even sadder when (it seemed) he changed into a right-wing asshole. I know that I don't have the whole story. All I really have are the memories of him, and I really like the ones from when he and J were married.

I also know that my cousin hasn't chosen to see his dad in two years; something that could be influenced by distance, just being a teenager, or not getting along with the brothers that live with his dad. Or it could be that he doesn't want to see his abusive father.

There isn't really a point to this post. I guess I'm just getting all of my feelings out in preparation, since it seems he isn't likely to recover. I honestly don't even know what I'm hoping for- if I'm hoping for anything. I know I'll mourn the loss of life, even if I've been mourning the loss of that soul for a decade.

*Everything I'm told about this comes from my mom, who gets it from her sister, who gets it from her son, so it's quite the game of telephone and at least one of them don't regard science highly, so I don't have the proper medical terms and I very likely don't have all the information I'd get if I were speaking to a doctor directly.

I listened to the new lotrop themes. my opinions as someone who doesn't know shit about music.

galadriel's: It's very pretty. It kind of eliminates any lingering worries that they might make Galadriel Just A Warrior with all other stuff eliminated; her theme isn't what I'd expect to hear going into battle at all. (though I already wasn't expecting them to go that way with all the other pictures of her not in armor.) It's sad, but also still kinda hopeful, sort of what I'd expect from second age Noldor dealing with the aftermath of All That and fading, but particularly Galadriel still being proud enough to refuse the summons of the Valar and staying in Middle-Earth. And despite the melancholy it still has the glory of a princess of the Noldor. The main melody thing is catchy too. all good here from me.

sauron's: they literally are giving out the sauron theme without even showing us sauron. ok. anyways: ominous and evil sounding as you'd expect, and I'm really curious for a translation of what they're saying in this song. I really like the part starting at 1:21 that sounds very pretty and ethereal, reminds me both of his fair persona as Annatar and also like who he used to be as a maia before joining morgoth. you just listen to that part and he sounds like such a good guy you should totally listen to him! then immediately after there's like a single note in here that reminds me a lot of the lotr movies evil songs as it gets more evil sounding.

overall: I like the sound of both of these so far! tbh I think Howard Shore not doing the full score is an okay move, if he's not going to be able to recycle a lot from the movies and might have to like. go with other things instead? if that makes sense? but these two and the brief music in the trailer that sounded rivendell-y is a good sign I think that it'll still be reminiscent of the movies but still distinct. I'm looking forward to see how leitmotifs might overlap in the rest of the soundtrack, and I really like the idea of characters having their own distinct themes.

most of the time i'll listen to instrumental playlists on spotify or the LOTR soundtracks, but i also am a big fan of sad boi music it is true. "moody mix" on spotify is something i listen to a lot lmfao

yay!! questions!! using this as an excuse to procrastinate studying for my finals (it is not my fault, i am brain dead and this is more fun)

10. Are you always going to be a little in love with somebody?

yes! similarly to your answer, first girl i fell in love with. everyone's gotta have that one person who made them have a sexuality crisis (and also gave them mental health issues etc). i still follow her on instagram, we text for birthdays and holidays but never more than a couple of messages before radio silence for a few months. it does break my heart a little but what can ya do

20. Do you want a grand adventure?

do i want it? yes. will it probably happen? no. the idea of having Some Great Experience would make me so happy but idk when or how it would happen. i'm not asking for a lotr-type multi-year journey, but maybe a few weeks in another country with friends you keep for a long time would sound pretty good to me.

30. Are your choices fated or of your own free will?

of your own free will, but the choices available to you will differ drastically on the situation in which you were born. ex) it's way easier for someone born into a lot of wealth to make the choices to eat right or only take jobs from companies they like as opposed to someone who wasn't from a wealthy area. overall i think we make the choices that we want, but not all people get to make all choices, if that makes sense?

40. what makes a person 'good'? are you a 'good person'?

ooh that is a difficult question. i'd say that you're a 'good person' if you consistently try to do the right thing, and help others within your own power. i think i am a good person, or i try to be, at least? i volunteer a lot. i help my friends when i can, and i listen to them. i do my best.

50. what do you expect from a friend or partner?

honesty, mainly. also i want them to make me feel important. i've had a lot of friend groups that give off this tangible impression that i am not their priority, which sucks obviously. basically i want to be valued

60. what do you think the next era of fashion will be like?

this one is interesting! honestly i am not the most fashion-savvy but probably a resurgence of old trends like we're seeing right now, maybe greater strides with non-gender conforming fashion and people being more comfortable to show off their own unique style

70. what's the tragedy of your life?

i have been very blessed with my life so far, i'd say, so i don't know that there's a great tragedy compared to the hardships that others are facing? closest i can come is that i will never fully be able to let myself rest. no matter what i do, it's not enough for me. my standards for myself are impossible to meet and so i'll never be proud of myself completely. anyway that got sad fast xoxo

80. is your music organized by mood or sensation or do you just listen to everything at any time?

i do love making playlists for random occasions but most often i just shuffle whatever daily mixes spotify gives me and roll from there

90. given the chance to reset your life (with none of the knowledge you currently have), would you take it?

i would not! i'm happy with where i am, the friends i made, etc. some things i'm not entirely satisfied with yet but i'm more interested in what i will do in the future than how i could fix things in the past.

100. what belief do you have that isn't logically grounded, but you still firmly believe in?

fear of animals. i think this question is more asking about spirituality but i am not a spiritual person so instead you get this <33 i am convinced that every wasp and dog and animal in the universe wants me dead. no i will not explain why. i am afraid

I like this a whole lot more than last year's list, which is on purpose! The last two years have been dominated by sleepy instrumental and ambient music, because I was using Spotify to play music to help me fall asleep. I have a different app for that now, which means this is all music I actually like and listen to on purpose!

Kind of sad my most recent listening doesn’t count for this, I’ve been getting back into Grimes and Purity Ring in the last couple weeks. Also chillhop should rate higher, but I mainly listen to that on youtube instead, specifically to keep my wrapped playlist skewed away from it. I like the vibes of chillhop but it’s more background noise to me than anything I pay attention to and thus shouldn’t count.

This is also my third year with the same top podcast, and boy do they know it. It’s a truly vulgar but very entertaining book read-a-long style show about “The Old Kingdom” series by Garth Nix. The other podcasts were another book read-a-long style one (LOTR this time) and the TED Radio Hour.

Special shout out to Carpenter Brut and Zhaoze, two artists that are wildly different from the rest of my playlist and two artists I specifically got into as mood music for reading. Carpenter Brut for “The Locked Tomb” series and Zhaoze for all my MXTX needs.

Campaign against negativity for imagination

The first promo photos – costume designs and scenes – for the new LotR series “Rings of Power” dropped and there’s a lot of negativity out of there. But there’s enough reasons for that outside a fantasy realm, so here’s a thought: Why not turn something negative in something positive? There’s a chance with this series that never worked for LotR and the Hobbit. Look at the fanarts and cosplays for these two. 95% of those resemble the costumes and characters of the movies.

Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen to the pre-LotR era of Middle-earth! Use your disappointment/frustration about design choices and make something of it. Use them to fire up your own creativity and imagination!

You don’t like elves with short hair, but the costumes? Make the design into your next cosplay/fanart and give the character long hair instead.

You like one particular sword/scroll/embroidery but not the rest? Take the sword/scroll/embroidery for your next design, shrug your shoulders, drop the rest.

You don’t like Galadriel’s “Ciri” hair but the rest of her outfit? Use the armor design but give her the LotR-Galadriel’s hair.

You like the dwarven princess’ design but hate that she has no beard? Portray her with a beard!

You don’t like a single thing we’ve seen so far? Design your own, to spite them!

Take elements from the series that you like. Adapt them. Change them. Make them your own. Let yourself be INSPIRED instead of clinging religiously to the designs we get new, as most fanarts and cosplays do with the LotR and Hobbit designs – there’s nothing wrong with that of course , but the lack of originality for LotR and the Hobbit is rather sad, so let’s make sure this doesn’t happen here!

And a bit more in general:

Once the series has dropped, and you don’t like the plot but the costume design: Enjoy the costumes!

Once the series has dropped, and you don’t like the set designs but love the music: Listen to the music!

Once the series has dropped, and you don’t like the CGI but enjoy the acting: Concentrate on the acting!

Sure, it’s easier to see and point out negative stuff, but it’s a lot healthier and certainly more enjoyable to focus on positive aspects. And please remember: There are other people out there with other opinions. With valid opinions. Not everybody likes the same things. And just because you cannot find a lot or even any enjoyable thing, it doesn’t mean the series/film/book IS bad, IS crap. And if there’s really nothing at all you like about it, it may make more sense to stop watching it. Remember: Any adaptation doesn’t change the source material nor does it have to change your interpretation of it or your imagination!

And yes, of course your opinion is as valid as others but consider this: telling someone a series/book/film/costume design/haircut is great and that person doesn’t like it, doesn’t hurt that person. Telling someone that it is crap, or even that people who like it aren’t real fans of ___, while that person very much enjoys it, can and – mentioned often enough – will hurt.

So if you want to express your displeasure that’s totally fine, but please try doing it in a way that doesn’t devaluate other people’s opinions. *Especially* on design choices, since these, above everything else, are a matter of taste!
