thinking about gravity falls and the aj trio. apollo and trucy have a very similar relationship to mabel and dipper. trucy and mabel are both so upbeat and always trying to make people happy including their grumpier, more serious brother. they both always get along even when they occasionally bicker and they'd do anything for each other.

apollo and dipper are really similar in a lot of ways. they both seem to struggle to make themselves known surrounded by flashier people. trucy is an upcoming stage magician and phoenix is a very well known attorney. mabel is very charismatic and very attention grabbing and stan is a conman who knows how to get eyes on him. they both want to be taken seriously despite all the ridiculous things that happen around them. and most of all they struggle with trust.

apollo and dipper both have trouble trusting their older mentor/uncle for very good reasons. dipper spent an entire summer reading the paranoid writings of ford who was constantly writing to trust no one. then he finds out that stan is supposed to be dead and has been keeping a huge secret from him while talking down to dipper about the existence of the supernatural. and the whole universe seems to want apollo to have trust issues too especially as a human lie detector. he wants to trust and believe there's more going on but his bracelet is telling him that hes being lied to. and that hurts especially when all he cares about is the truth.

phoenix and stan are doing ultimately good things but in a very shady way. constantly lying and acting paranoid in a way that fractures trust in him by those close to him. it wouldve been nice to see more of those consequences in ace attorney like we do in gravity falls. especially in dual destinies apollo doesnt know who in his law office he can trust which would make his leave of absence that much more poignant. show him being unsure and going on a journey to find the truth and ultimately deciding that he can have faith in those around him again.

Read with 585 votes (49.9%) vs Trucy Wright with 586 votes (50.1%) [I am literally not kidding. trucy won by one fucking vote. this is the most insane thing I've ever seen. they were neck and neck for a whole ten minutes and somehow someone managed to sneak one last vote in for trucy at 11:59 as I was about to close voting. I've never been so on edge in my life. if there's one thing trucy wins in this tournament it's surviving by the skin of her teeth every time!!!]
