Tracy is to my right and Pete is to my left while I savor the victory of getting a Mare Island Brewing Co. hoodie to keep me warm in an unseasonably cold San Francisco July. We visited the Mare Island location and the lunched at the Mare Island Tap Room at the Ferry. Unbeknownst to most Vallejo is a marvelous little town at the north of San Francisco Bay that was once the Capitol of California. We sat near the Mare Island strait on both occasions of the Napa River while explored Vallejo and Mare Island. Vallejo It has lots of Victorian and early 20th century homes and architecture. It has a sizable Burner community who are artistically inclined. There are a lot of Steam Punk art and art cars in the community. The art cars can be seen at local parades. Tracy introduced us to the mysteries of Mere Island. The naval base was stablished in 1854 it was once a very busy shipping yard manufacturing submarines and torpedoes with numerous expansive turn of the century brick buildings and naval oddities encompassed on a vast portion of the island. No somewhat a residential and business area with pub, restaurant and living spaces Mare Island still has a ghostly quality about it with old patinated buildings and officers quarters is a great place to play and explore. There is a lot of Burner art there to check out. Che cosa sono i ricordi per te? I ricordi sono certezza, sono immagini che prendono vita dentro di me e che mi fanno ripensare ad una persona e a ciò che ho vissuto con lei ma non solo, sono il rifugio in cui andare a ripararmi quando mi sento persa. Sono l'appiglio per non cadere nei momenti di sconforto, e il posto migliore per pensare e rivivere quel singolo istante. Spesso prima di addormentarmi, quando la notte è buia, con le cuffie nell'orecchio, chiudo gli occhi e viaggio... Viaggio con la mente a cercare lampi di felicità, a trovare un abbraccio, una carezza, un sorriso, un pianto, una parola che mi faccia dormire tranquilla. Il ricordare è il riportare indietro, anche se per pochi secondi, una persona, una giornata, un luogo nel quale ci siamo sentiti vivi, in cui avremmo voluto che tutto restasse immutato, fermo. Conservo ricordi che resteranno con me per sempre, ricordi che riaffioriranno, ascoltando la mia canzone preferita oppure guardando fuori dal finestrino quando sarò in macchina, cercando la foto giusta che mi teletrasporti con il pensiero. I ricordi che ho con te sono come tatuaggi, uno dopo l'altro mi si imprimono nella pelle. Alcuni sono prime esperienze che ho vissuto, come la prima volta che sono stata in discoteca, o che ho mandato la canoa ma ce ne sono tanti altri, e quelli sicuramente un giorno saranno raccontati. Mi hai dato tanto da ricordare, mi hai fatto toccare il paradiso con le punta delle dita, mi hai fatto sentire il rumore e il profumo del mare, mi hai guidato in posti incantati, ma soprattutto mi hai fatto mancare il respiro ogni volta che mi hai abbracciato e mi hai stretto forte a te. Non dimenticherò mai le sensazioni che mi hai fatto provare e la fatica che faccio nel starti lontana. Sei dentro i ricordi più vitali , che quando ci ripenso ho i brividi in tutto il corpo da quanto mi mancano. Hai presente quando le onde del mare colpiscono gli scogli oppure si distendano sopra la spiaggia ? Una volta che vengono trascinate indietro tirano via con sé granelli di sabbia, sassi e conchiglie, come se per forza volessero lasciare un segno e avessero il bisogno di assorbire ciò che gli viene offerto. Un po' come noi, tu mi offri tutto ciò di cui ho bisogno e io lascio un segno dentro di te in qualsiasi modo mi sia possibile.
