Mermay, day 20 ♌️ Leo I was surprised it took me so little to find a solution for this sign: I wanted to be fire in it, but keep it clear there was a siren involved. A water creature, surrounded by fire, but in water, but feeling the fire... Ok, you got the idea. So here we have an underwater volcano: I still have a lot to work on water reflection and on fire, but I’m getting better. A couple of days ago, I had a little chat with @thriving.art.reborn (who joined my #dtiys, and I’d like you to do it too ^^): it happened we talked about fire effects, and I said I had this idea of making some art tutorials to share here on my page. Since I’m still very busy with mermaids, other projects and work, I guess I’ll have to postpone it, but below you can find a list of the “actions” I made for the fire effect on water (and I used the same, more or less, for the light effect on the rest of the figure): Use a fire red (or any other color you like it to be) for a layer set on normal; Duplicate and put it on Add mode; Duplicate the Add one and blur the new layer; Duplicate the first layer, put it above all the others and set it on Color Burn. The final position, starting from the top, should be: Cb; A (blurred); A; N. This was actually the first time I used this sequence, but it turned out good. You can play around more if you are feeling to experiment.
