So I'm working on a presentation for my history class and I had to pick a event or something that happened during WW2 in American. Me being the cottage core loving being am i, I picked victory gardens and rationing.

See, that would be a normal topic to go over. However, I am not normal. I know that there are comics and cartoon panels of Disney characters -mostly Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, however I learned of a new comic character.

Fucking. Batman.

It was the cover of comic from the world's finest comics, which were war time comics of Batman, Robin, and Superman. This one, number 11 in the comic line, depicts the three in a war time Victory Garden.

I expected this from Superman, him being a farm boy and all, and possibly Robin cause he's a child. However Batman was not who I was expecting to be harvesting fucking cabbage.

J2 Gold Panel Minncon 2023

Quick psa/reminder that this con took place while the actor’s union, SAG-AFTRA, is on strike. This means the boys cannot talk about any past, present, or future projects. But for the sake of clarity, I will be mentioning projects the boys are referring to by name.

Before the panel starts Jared notices a fan with an I heart Jensen sign, and says he does too.

Jared shows off a bit of his and Jensen's unspoken lingo, he does the sign for a brief pause. They got it from their director, Jensen says they had a lot of different hand signals for communication, and they also had names for certain types of shots. Jared mentions they had a friend in Van who's a larger individual and was always smoking pot so if they start the scene with a high and wide shot they'd call it the Murph. When the camera is on the dolly track and does a creep in if it's a little creep they'd call it a Mickey Rooney then Jensen says there are other ones they won't mention because they're very inappropriate.

Jared reminds fans that actors are currently on strike and thanks the fans for their understanding if there are any questions that they cannot answer. Jensen says that Jared can talk about his gardening skills and Jared says he loves him some zucchini and that he harvested some the previous week...I'm not gonna say it, but you know what I'm thinking 😉

Do they follow the Texas country music scene?

Jared always goes back to when in High School or Middle School Robert Earl King. Or Pat Green.

Jensen mentions Jerry Jeff Walker. He also says Texas certainly has its own country core, it's not like traditional Nashville country. x

The next fan had already asked Jared this question and now they want to know Jensen's answer: what kind of car would he have if money was no problem?

He doesn't have a holy grail and the reason he doesn't is because if he did he'd spend all his time figuring out how to get it; he'll watch car auction shows, used to watch them with Clif, and every one of them he'll want. He did see one car once, he and Jared had the opportunity to go to Concours d'Elegance which is the best, greatest car show there is in Pebble Beach. They close off the 18-hole golf course and line up the cars all along the fairways. It's right there on the coast and they were walking past the pre-world war cars and he saw an Austin Martin that took his breath away. He was like "this is outrageous you probably can't even get your hands on this" but if he ever had the opportunity to own something like that- he took more pictures of that car than any other car. x

The next fan doesn't have a question, they just wanted the boys to wish her a happy birthday and also show the tattoo she has of Jensen's face on the inside of her thigh, which took her 6hrs to get done. Jared jokes Jensen can't last six hours 🤣

What's the backstory behind the bracelets Jensen sometimes wears?

They've all been gifted to him by someone in his life, usually his wife or his daughter but he has friends that he has also traded with; there's always some sort of a back story to what he's wearing he doesn't usually go shopping and just buy stuff.

Then they get told a naughty joke: if a blackbird has black babies and a bluebird has blue babies what bird has no babies? A swallow. Both men have to walk away from the mic 🤣

Jared asks the next fan if they have any babies and even he's wondering why he says what comes into his head 😂

If they had to pick tattoos for each other what would they pick out?

Jensen points towards the fan that has his face tattoed on her inner tigh and says she already has it he would put his face on Jared's and Jared says "yeah I'd be more handsome." Gentlemen 👀

Jensen then says would put a bear growling on Jared's right hand. And Jared's like "why do they exist?" and Jensen just goes "to scare big things like you." Which I found a cute little exchange.

Jared would make Jensen get an enter at your own risk and an arrow pointing to somewhere that he's not gonna say but it would be in an old English cursive writing. Again 👀

Jared asks the fan what they would put on them and the fan replies that they would ask what they love and what describes them

Jensen comments that he and Jared had talked about getting something that represents SPN because when you're in it you're not thinking about how long the show is gonna go and so you know they talked about maybe getting the anti-possession tattoo or there was also talk about symbols of MOL but it's really come down that now that they're a few years removed from it and they're able to look back on it they're able to realize how big that part of their lives was for them and how forever it will be. That's not to say tattoos always have to be amazingly meaningful, some are just fun, but he feels they would because of how that show impacted their lives. x

If they were in Van and had a ping pong tournament with the cast and crew of SPN who would make it to the gold round and come out the victor?

They would. Jared says he thinks it happened a few times and they had to hide said ping pong table from them because they would sweat their makeup off.

Jensen says they would play that game so intensely as if they were running a marathon. They would be called back on set and be out of breath, show up panting- they had very intense games. I wanna make a dirty comment so badly involving the other things they were probably might have been doing on that ping pong table but I'm gonna keep it moving.

Jared says they represented Texas pretty damn well, and they're asked if they doubled up or destroyed the other. Both say it was pretty split, pretty even. It got to a point where they were just exposing each other's weaknesses like Jared would figure out Jensen's forehand was a little weaker that day so he'd send it straight into his forehand. x

Next is a fan wanting to know what they thought of her tattoo, and if they could give her artist a shoutout. They thought it was really awesome and the artist did a great job. x

If they go to a diner how likely is it that they would actually order a salad and a cheeseburger?

Jared says at a dinner he's kind of greasy spoon type of guy so like a burger or something. That's at a diner, but he probably orders salads more than burgers.

Jensen would probably go burger or burrito if they have it. And Jared says that's cause it's probably 2am, probably on the way home. He knows hubby so well 🥰

Jensen comments there's a dinner close to where he lives that they go to sometimes, and he's a creature of habit so they have this big massive burrito that he has no business eating all of but he does.

He mentions it has hot sauce so the fan asks if they like spicy food, they do, and Jensen says he likes jalapeños on his pizza all the time. They also mention Hot Ones and how they'd like to do it. x

Apparently people are complaining about the fact that horror movies are coming out about Mickey Mouse the second he became public domain.

Will the movies be good? Probably not. Will I enjoy their plots or acting? No, I don’t think so. Are they going to be stupid, cashgrab shock flics simply acting off of the fact this is a beloved childhood character? Yeah, it’s expected. Does that mean they shouldn’t exist? N O. THOSE ARE THE EXACT REASONS WHY THEY SHOULD EXIST! That’s why the public domain even exists in the first place! The creative freedom to do whatever you want with media that has entered it. It’s been protected for ages, it’s original creator is long gone, and BigCompany has made numerous efforts to avoid this inevitable freedom (forever altering the public domain as we know it, due to the extensions). This isn’t a bad thing! This is an amazing thing! It’s the first bloom of the fruiting plant we’ve waited decades to harvest. It’s the first collection of honey from a beehive we’ve fostered for years. They’ve had their use out of it, and nobody is saying they can’t continue to use it, but now so can we! Let’s not forget that some of Disney’s most popular films are based on old stories, themselves. If someone can make some crappy horror movie on these characters, just IMAGINE what YOU can do with them! Especially once more characters enter the lineup, as they soon will (Popeye the Sailor, anyone? I believe that one will join in for 2025!) I don’t believe copyright is a bad thing but I also believe everything has its lifespan. This isn’t even the end of the characters life, just another stage! It’s artistic freedom at its finest.

Happy birthday to Spartan Edward Buck!

Today is his -487th birthday!

Buck is the leader of the Spartan-IV fireteam Alpha-Nine, and spouse of ONI agent Veronica Dare.

Buck was born on Draco III and lived with his parents and sister, Lucy. His mother was retired military, while his father and uncle were a dockworker and fisherman, respectively. At the age of eighteen, he stopped working for his uncle and enlisted in the UNSC Marine Corps, following in his mother's footsteps.

He was involved in many engagements during the Human-Covenant war, including the Harvest campaign. In 2530, he was part of a strike team which recovered a Sangheili survivor who was taken into custody and interrogated. It was then that the UNSC learned the Covenant's true reasons for waging war against them.

In 2545, Draco III was attacked by the Covenant but only partially glassed, preferring to use its inhabitants as hunting practice. Buck's entire remaining family was killed, and he obsessively watched the footage of Draco III's citizens being hunted and eaten. That same year, he put in for transfer to the ODSTs.

Still reeling from the attack on Draco III, he was ordered to take shore leave after his transfer. It was there that he met Veronica Dare, and the two had a short fling that ended poorly when Buck realized Dare worked for ONI.

Soon after, he was assigned as the commander of ODST squad Alpha-Nine, a position he avoided promotions to keep. Throughout his career, he continually encountered Dare agan, working under command during a mission to Belisk (where he rescued and met Sarah Palmer) and later in the Battle for Mombasa, albiet six years later.

Buck participated in the campaign on Reach, where he met NOBLE team. After Reach fell, he was assigned to UNSC Say My Name to participate in the Battle for Earth. The initial plan was to bombard the Prophet of Regret's flagship, which remained in orbit over New Mombasa. However, Dare took control of the mission, ordering them to land away from the ship. It would eventually be revealed that Dare changed the mission because she became aware of the presence of a Huragok--an organic Forerunner construct with a natural drive to repair and an invaluable wealth of knowledge about both Covenant and Forerunner technology. They would succeed in capturing the Huragok, surrendering it to ONI. After completing their campaign on Earth, Buck and Dare would rekindle their relationship and take shore leave together. At the end of their vacation, he was approached by Jun-A266, who offered him admission into the SPARTAN program, which Buck initially declined.

After the war, he returned to duty and was deployed to Draco III to combat Insurrectionists who had set up operations on the planet. During this engagement, one of his squad members, Jonathan "Rookie" Doherty, was killed. Later, Buck was once again approached by Jun to join the Spartans, adding that his squad would be offered a place, as well. After speaking to Dare, Buck accepted.

He, Romeo, and Mickey underwent augmentations, while Dutch, who was shaken by the Rookie's death, decided to retire with his wife, Gretchen.

In 2555, Alpha-Nine was assigned to a mission on Talista to combat the United Rebel Front presence there. There, Mickey would betray them, revealing that he had defected to the URF. Buck--a staunch anti-Insurrectionist--attacked Mickey, eventually apprehending him and handing him over to the UNSC. After these events, Alpha-Nine dissolved, and Buck was transferred to be a member of Spartan fireteam Osiris. He participated in the fireteam's mission to apprehend Master Chief and Blue Team, though he expressed concern about the mission's perception. Buck was present when Osiris and Blue Team learned of the threat of Cortana, the Guardians, and the Created, and changed their objective to stopping her.

After returning to Infinity, Dare once again gave him a new assignment: a mission to a URF-controlled settlement which was able to cloak itself from the Guardians. To Buck's dismay, the mission would require the help of Mickey, who was still in UNSC custody. After rescuing Romeo from the Unggoy homeworld of Balaho, he traveled to the secret Spartan training site which housed Mickey. He begrudgingly broke Mickey out of imprisonment, with the unexpected help of Dutch and Gretchen, who had quietly joined the Spartans.

With Alpha-Nine back together, the group was able to escort Dare to negotiate with the mayor of the settlement who, after witnessing the threat of the Guardians, reluctantly agreed to share the technology with the UNSC. After this mission, he slowly began to make amends with Mickey. His team restored, he accepted the offer to lead Alpha-Nine again, this time as a Spartan fireteam leader.

Back on Infinity, he and Dare met at the ship's bar, where she pressed him on their relationship, daring him to marry her. He agreed that he would, but was shocked when she immediately began making arrangements on the bar's datapad. Roland, the ship's AI, heard the exchange and offered to officiate. After a brief "ceremony", the two were married before the bar patrons, including Osiris and Alpha-Nine.

In canon (~2560), he is turning 50!

Some little tomato fun for @gardenerian

Ian scrolled through his camera roll, admiring all the pictures of two of his favourite things - his husband and his tomatoes. He was getting pretty good at taking photos, he thought he had a real knack for composition.

But something was missing. What was it? Maybe he needed more photos of the tomatoes growing on the vines? Or perhaps he should experiment with filters more.

No. No, that wasn’t it. Despite the hundreds of pictures on his camera roll - he didn’t have a single one of Mickey with the tomatoes. How was that possible? Well, he thought, he’d have to change that ASAP. Thankfully, he’d recently harvested a few ripe tomatoes that would photograph perfectly. Collecting them from the kitchen counter, he approached his husband who was napping on the couch.

“Mick.” He whispered gently. “Mickey.”

“The fuck?” Mickey grumbled, opening one eye and then the other, seemingly confused to see Ian looming over him with handfuls of tomatoes.

“Hold these.” Ian placed the tomatoes in Mickey’s hands, arranging them carefully. “Perfect. Now stay still.”

“What are you doing?” Mickey questioned but obediently stayed still.

Ian grabbed his phone, swiping to the camera, and began to move around slowly trying to get the best angle. There. Snap. Snap. Snap. Maybe one more. Snap. “That’s great.” He admired his pictures - a sleepy, amused Mickey cradling five plump tomatoes, each a vibrant shade of red.

“You done with the photoshoot?”

“Uh-huh. And I think this one -” he proudly showed Mickey the third photo he’d taken, “is lock screen material.”

“Oooh.” Mickey mocked but he was smiling at Ian. “Since you woke me from my nap, how about you chop up some of these bad boys and make me one of those tomato sandwiches.”

“And you don’t mind if there’s mayo in it?”

“Yes, Ian, you don’t need to ask every time.”

“Just checking! I know mayo is a sensitive topic for you.” Ian laughed and grabbed the tomatoes from Mickey. “One famous Gallagher Tomato Sandwich coming up.”

“Can’t wait, lover.” Mickey grabbed Ian’s phone and smiled as he looked at the photos. Then he looked at Ian, chopping the tomatoes in the kitchen, and felt a bloom of love for his husband. He snapped a few photos for himself, loving how natural and happy Ian looked as he assembled the sandwiches, even managing to capture Ian sweetly glancing over his shoulder to look directly at Mickey. He sent that one to his own phone, saving it as his lock screen.

Dreamlight Valley/ Twst Headcanons for my Ocs!

Basic Stuff:

- Both of them can change themselves quickly cause magic

- The power of Dreamlight depends on how much dreams and thoughts affect it.

- The more compound it gets more it crystallizes

- The main Dreamer Daniela the ruler makes the world it is. She created it when she was young child.

- When she split from the world she left behind a part of her making the Forgotten. Who was a perfect carbon copy, but she was missing a part of her. Leading into the events of the game.

- All of the Characters in the world have their own dimensions from where they come from.

- Some characters who died were brought to life though they don't seem to be the exact person.

- The ruler came to the world in a well, and made the castle there.

- Being trained by Merlin and some others in magic they are very proficient in spells.

The Ruler/ Daniela

- She'd love to oversleep in the morning and wake up in the afternoon. But sadly she has duties to do.

-Has a pet Crocodile named Marshy

- Loves to craft furniture and make flower pots. Her house is filled with flowers.

- She drinks two cups of coffee a day when the villagers need a lot of things

- Doesn't remember her childhood that much unlike the Forgotten

- She sees the forgotten as her own person and as a twin. (Obviously they look the same)

- Very rich as she keeps harvesting and selling Pumpkins on the regular.

- Tends to overwork and leave things to the last minute. But she makes it one time anyways.

- For some reason the villagers tend to surround her when she spaces out. She gets that they're concerned but she's imagining in her headspace.

- She was found sleeping in Maleficents house causing a huge misunderstanding with Merlin and the other villagers. It nearly caused a huge disaster (She and Maleficent were just having a sleepover)

- Never put her near any flying bugs, she'd would start to shoot fire everywhere.

- Likes to poke fun at Jafar

- Puts Coal in peoples houses when she's mad or disappointed in them. Gothel has a few which she placed on a shelf.

- Loves to sprint around she loves feeling speedy even if it takes a lot from her. (Because of this she eats a lot.)

The Forgotten/Yuu

-The forgotten named herself Yuu and left the forgotten title as her last name.

- She likes to make jokes on that which concerns Mickey and Minnie

- Tends to be forgotten a lot or not noticed that much since her footsteps are very quiet.

- The wings are very much real, and Yuu will fly around the sky when she wants to clear her head.

- Likes to experiment and befriend items.

- Has a potato farm in her castle somewhere

- Tried to eat a night thorn raw never again

- Loves to dress up and do her hair. (When your being evil you gotta look good)

- Likes to follow Daniela around when bored.

- Doesn't feel comfortable being near Gothel or Scar (She'd get really on the defensive)

- Really finds Minnie as a mother figure (Usually likes to hang out near her house)

- Yuu has a Raven friend who she enchanted to speak. Named him Charlie.

- Once boasted she could and would eat all the icecream in Remys restaurant.

- Avoids Olaf as much as she can

- Loves making tiny sandcastles in the beach

- Tends to forget important dates.

- Finds stupid looking fish cute

- Her cardboard wings and crown are hidden in a shelf.

- Loves Snow Whites pie and eats it in her room. While watching movies with Charlie.

Twisted Wonderland stuff in here!

- When she goes into Twisted Wonderland by accident she tries to summon a portal back home but changes her mind as she gets curious about it's inhabitants.

- Makes Ramshackle into a nice living space with a huge potato garden. She got green, red, and blue potatoes.

- She has a little issues when making new friends but She considers it as a learning experience.

- Keeps in contact with Daniela with letters

- She considers Ace, Grim, and Deuce has a younger brother figures

- She really likes Crowely's sense of style and made a similar looking hat and mask for herself, and a little hat for Charlie.

- She relates to Malleus sharing the love of icecream. Going off to try some icecream flavors she makes up in the experiment room!

- Dealing with Overblots is very tricky, but She always has Daniela in beck and call if things get too messy. But she mostly deals it fine.

- Yuu loves to talk to the portraits in the school and tried to enchant the paintings to give them a body to walk around with for a day. But that caused a whole ruckus and Crowley reprimand her for a while.

- Daniela finds Sebek adorable and very charming. Wanting to adopt him as he reminds her of a crocodile. Yuu doesn't get it but alright.

I’m so sorry my asks have been so slow. I’ve been so busy with life and work. I’ve hardly had time to even work on my fic 😭 I promise I’m gonna get these asks and that new chapter out at some point! I know you guys have been waiting lol

Anyways, yeah, I do indeed only have Persephone doing her job during spring. I just think it works better, y’know? She gets to spend more time with Hades. Also, I mean, she is the goddess of spring, so personally for me I feel like it’d be odd for her to be away during spring AND summer. I mean, I know both seasons are warmer season with lots of fruits and blossoms and whatnot, but like I said, she’s the spring goddess not the summer and spring goddess, y’know? But yeah, I know in actual Greek mythology Persephone usually went away during the warm seasons and went back to the underworld during the cold seasons, which gives the explanation as to why the plants die and it gets cold during fall and winter, so I get it lol. But, as I’ve also mentioned in my universe, Demeter handles summer and fall mainly because those are her big harvest seasons with lots of fruits and veggies to be planted and Despoina handles winter, so yeah lol.

Anyways, back to the point lol, I like the idea of Hades and Persephone being connected to Halloween too lol! I mean, in The House of Mouse, Mickey said Hades was the “Head Honcho of Halloween” so y’know lmaooo! I like to think that maybe eventually after a hundred years or so, the mortals finally decided to give Hades the respect he deserves by giving him his own holiday (Halloween) and he’s just like “Well, it’s no ‘Smitin’ Titan’ day, but, hey, I’ll take it.” Lmao but yeah, I mean, Halloween is all about spooks and ghosts and creepy dead things. That’s what Hades is all about too, so even if Halloween isn’t dedicated to him, it’s still basically his holiday lol. I mean, most people today associate Halloween with “the devil” (which Hades basically is in the Disney universe lol), so I suppose in turn people would associate Hades with Halloween lmao

Also Persephone is the queen of the underworld, so she’d be associated with Halloween too lol, just like I think she’d sorta be associated with the Disney villains since she’s married to a villain lol, so long story short: Hades and Persephone are the king and queen of Halloween lmao

I was trying this week’s galladrables prompt and I am going to fill it, but I got this idea and I liked it so much that I wanted to share it. 

Ian was hungry for something a little different. He was washing his latest tomato harvest when he got an idea. He selected the juiciest looking tomato and salted it before taking a bite. It. Was. Delicious.

“What the fuck?” Ian turned to see a disgusted looking Mickey standing by the fridge.

“Want some?” He offered the tomato but Mickey held up a hand.

“You’re eating it like a fuckin’ apple!”

“So?”

“It’s fuckin’ gross, man!”

“Mmm, just need some mayo.” Mickey glared at him, threw his hand in the air and stomped away, leaving Ian to his new delicious snack.
