minecraft liminal spaces
-the underside of custom made terrain where the original land still is, covered in torches but still home to the occasional zombie or spider
-multi-player servers when no one's online
-villages in superflat worlds
-the main end island after you've killed the dragon
-adventure maps outside of the area you're meant to be in
-hidden redstone underneath contraptions/doors/etc
additions to this list are highly encouraged

Was anyone else out there playing Minecraft as a kid thinking to themselves:
“Hm, well if Steve had a religion I’d bet he’d call Jeb, Notch, and Herobrine the holy trinity.”
Or was that just me?
. . . Just me?
Noted.

I seriously need to stop listening to Minecraft music and videos with the music + really nostalgic images.
It hits extremely hard.
God, I swear.
When I'll finish the exams, and I'll hopefully get a gaming laptop, I absolutely want to play it there.
Hopefully I manage to play it with my friend later today too...
But...
I will never get that feeling again...
Spending thousands and thousands of hours on my PS4...
I've seen and heard a lot people talking about playing Minecraft with their friends.
Having been insulted for my entire life... bullied until the very end of middle school, I've mostly played Minecraft alone.
Until high school, when I met my best friend.
We firstly played Fortnite for a while, and we then switched to Minecraft.
At least i'll have very good memories with him.
But dude... it always hits so hard...
🐺😭😭😭😭😭

Dear Minecraft
Dear Minecraft
a music, art, and writing project centered around childhood nostalgia but focused on Minecraft
there isn't much of a limit of what you can't do, but here are a few rules
nothing NSFW or gorey. sorry but due to the controversy, no DSMP. Other SMPs are welcome though, as long as they are not super recent and were in your childhood
date to turn everything in is august of next year, and it should be finished by around this time of year, hopefully on the 1st anniversary of the last episode of Stampy's Lovely World

In the vast realm of nostalgia, where cherished memories reside, there exists a place that holds a special magic. A realm crafted pixel by pixel, where creativity knows no bounds and dreams take flight. It is a place called Minecraft, where hearts and blocks intertwine. Close your eyes for a moment and journey back with me, to a time when innocence painted the world with vibrant hues. Remember the first time you ventured into that enchanting world, where possibilities bloomed like flowers in spring. The soft hum of the game loading, the anticipation building, and then, with a click, a world unfolded before your eyes. The sun-kissed landscapes stretched endlessly, inviting you to explore. Lush forests whispered secrets, mountains pierced the heavens, and serene rivers meandered through the verdant valleys. You dug deep into the earth, seeking rare minerals, as excitement pulsed through your veins. You built towering castles that reached for the sky, crafted humble abodes that sheltered your dreams and fashioned magnificent structures that stood as testaments to your boundless imagination. But amidst the blocks and pixels, there was something deeper at play. It was a sanctuary, a refuge, where burdens melted away like snowflakes on warm skin. As you roamed those virtual lands, worries ceased to exist, and the world's weight lifted from your weary shoulders. All of a sudden, everything became alright. In those moments, you discovered the true essence of Minecraft's enchantment—the power to heal, comfort, and transcend reality. Loneliness was replaced with camaraderie as you invited friends to join your digital tapestry. Together, you crafted epic sagas, forged unbreakable bonds, and laughed until tears filled your eyes. But as with all good things, time carried you forward. The real world beckoned, and Minecraft faded into the recesses of memory. Life's challenges claimed your attention and the vibrant landscapes of the game became distant echoes. Yet, deep within, the essence of those moments remained, forever etched upon your soul. Now, as you open your eyes, a tear may glisten in the corner. It's not a tear of sadness, but one of bittersweet joy. For in the ethereal realm of Minecraft, you discovered a respite from life's storms, a haven of solace and resiliency. So, let those tears flow, my friend, for they are a testament to the beauty of the human spirit, to the profound impact of pixels and blocks. And may those tears remind you that Minecraft's magic still resides within your heart. In a world where all of a sudden, everything becomes alright.

Okay, after some thought
Here's what I've come up with for the Minecraft nesting dolls.
I have 4 themes. Each theme consists of 5 layers, 4(ish) mobs that are nested into a non-mob block. Those non-mob blocks are up for debate, and please, if you have a better idea (Especially for the End set) please leave suggestions in the notes! I would love the input!
So here's the themes:
OVERWORLD: the outermost layer is the classic grass block, followed by a cow, a sheep, a pig, and a chicken.
CAVES: the outermost layer is a diamond ore block (after some debating with myself, stone and deepslate were considered). The mobs are creeper, witch, skeleton, zombie. I liked having the zombie be the smallest one because baby zombies are the worst.
NETHER: I considered netherrack for the outermost layer, and a shroomlight, my spouse suggested soulsand, but I went with an actual nether portal, so you open the portal to the nether mobs. The mobs are a ghast, a strider, a piglin, and a wither skeleton.
END: This one's outermost layer is still up for debate. I feel like endstone is boring. Maybe a chorus flower? End portal, like the nether? Idk if I could make it read right with plastic canvas, but the dragon egg may be cool.... Anyways, the mobs are the End Dragon (another tricky read, how to flatten it onto a single cube?), an enderman, the shell of a shulker, which opens to reveal the little shulker guy itself. All in all, the least stable theme.

Please can you point me to the patch about minecraft polar bears attacking in peaceful? I haven't seen it and it sounds amazing
It's patch 1.56 from 2017. I remember it fondly, mostly because it was ON SIGHT with those guys. You just had to be vaguely near them to become polar bear food regardless of difficulty. And if I remember correctly (I might not it's been 6 years) the patch didn't initially fix it, either. Or at least not entirely. Those bears still were aggressive af, red eyes and coming up to you and all, but they couldn't do damage to you in Peaceful.
