So we've all heard of the "I Want Song" genre in musicals.
But what about the "Let's talk about the bitch behind their back like they're not in the room" song, or "singing s*** behing a bitche's back". There's a surprising amount of them.
"Belle" from Beauty and the Beast
"Scrooge" from Muppet Christmas Carol
"Maria" from The Sound of Music
"Look at Me I'm Sandra Dee" from Grease
"You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" from How The Grinch Stole Christmas
"Jackass In a Can" from Galavant
"Phony King of England" from Robin Hood
"Stepsister's Lament" from Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella
"Non-Stop" from Hamilton
And, of course, the man, the myth, the legend...
"We Don't Talk About Bruno" from Encanto
You can learn a lot about a character and story from what they sing versus what other people sing about them.
sorry for those who disagree but goth and industrial are like sisters and best friends. i don't even think of opposing them. i don't seperate them. they live under the same roof.
hbomb's blast of james somerton really makes me think back to other older youtubers who have been doing their good work, performing critical research and analyses into niche fields who then had their work plagiarized from their videos and henceforth wanted to stop making content.
yeah and also they got pushback from the internet saying the degree of plagiarism they'd experienced is a made up problem.

How well would this version of Lady Gaga's "Heavy Metal Lover" fit your Floyd when he's on drugs and partying?
uhm, no offense but Lady Gaga is the probably the furthest from the music at the raves they go to in my headcanon. The pop trolls are still trapped in the tree/in hiding during that time period so there's very little pop trolls around hinterlands, and the band stays clear of non-troll races, so there's no pop music at the places they visit. The only time they hear it is if it's on the radio (e.g. music from mount rageous).
The concerts they attend are mostly what their band plays; nu metal or other kinds of alt. rock, and the parties they go to aren't much different. The underground raves I imagine are mostly located on the outskirts of the techno kingdom. That's Liv's domain, and she usually takes them to the ones with her kind of music which is drum & bass/electronic rock.
I have little music playlists for each of them and these are three songs from Liv's list (it's mostly Pendulum lol):

but if they go to a proper techno trolls' rave then i imagine this type of music playing there
I believe you will never have the courage to say there is any worst genre of music (not including subgenres in this context) if you actually seek out art. if you think EDM, jazz or country etc are bad it's probably because you have never actually heard music in these genres and have misconceptions due to a game of telephone or your only exposure to these genres was the boring, stripped down, whitewashed versions of what the genres have to offer.
