In honor of the updated release date, it is once again time to make a shitpost no one would ever care about.
Ranking BG3 companions from worst to best cooks:
5. Astarion
You know this motherfucker has never cooked a day in his life, even before he was a vampire. In fact, I have a hard time imagining him eating at all. He's that guy who is perpetually late, always hungover (but like in a chic way), and his diet consists of red wine, cigarettes, and cocaine. Also, he always has an iced coffee, even when there is no conceivable way he could have gotten one. No, I have not thought a lot about this, what are you talking about?
4. Lae'zel
Lae'zel seems like she's a 'food is food' kind of person. Her cooking is edible, but that's about it. She refuses to cater to weak, lesser races by adding any kind of seasoning.
3. Shadowheart
The thing is, has Shadowheart actually cooked for the group? Cause I can imagine Tav asking her, and her questioning why they're asking her specifically, and then Tav worries that they've said something offensive. Mostly she just doesn't want to, and this is a very effective method for avoiding it.
2. Wyll
Wyll is a good cook, but he has a tendency to get a little too creative. Everyone dreads when he starts talking about a new recipe idea he's had because it'll end up being something like watermelon-braised boar meat stuffed into a pumpkin.
1. Gale
Does Gale like cooking? Probably not. However, Gale refuses to be bad at anything. Also, he's one of those super annoying people who act faux-humble about something they are obviously really good at. He'd be like, 'oh no, it's nothing special' after making a souffle in the middle of goddamned woods, but you know he knows. God he's so annoying. I love him.

for an incredibly new f1 follower, what would you recommend for getting up to date with teams and racers and performances and history? apart from dts lol
oh that is a good question!!! i don't think i'm even the best person to answer this but honestly i think it all comes naturally if you pick a specific thing/team/person you're interested in and set out to learn more about that topic, because everything is so connected and with time you can fill in those knowledge gaps pretty quickly :') more under the cut:
dts is imo perfectly acceptable for learning names and faces for the first time and basically creating a vague outline of a given subject (i've said it's like using duolingo for learning a new language lol), so if you watch it and are like oh—i'm interested in charles or mercedes or learning more about technical regulations or whatever, then you can just dive deeper into that via wiki / youtube / podcasts + published media + old race archives and build up from there!
otherwise i think the main thing is just to start watching the actual races when the season gets underway, and in order to properly appreciate them then also read up on + watch videos about the technical/strategy side of the sport as well. back in the day i used to really like chain bear and i still always recommend it to anyone who asks! after that i would just seek out like... a community/server/place where other people are discussing news real-time; this could be meeting people on tumblr and twitter, but personally i'm subscribed to r/formula1 because it's the most active composite source of f1 news and Discourse. if you're reddit-averse i also just keep a big list on twitter with a bunch of random data accounts, official driver/team accounts, journalists, etc. that helps me keep up with the season in a tidy fashion—though honestly f1 journalism is so unserious that you don't really need to do that because most journos regurgitate the same three quotes in slightly different formats, so if you want to follow One Guy who won't disseminate bs info i'd recommend chris medland. or just general sport publications like autosport, motosport.com, the athletic if you're already subscribed to it (pretty lacking for f1 though since it's american lol), etc... some sites like the-race are very contentious though so i'd say just tread with caution!!! on the data side i personally enjoy fdatanalysis and f1telemetrydata (i've also used f1-tempo to do my own telemetry analysis but idk if that's useful). but again i'd highly recommend the subreddit since it keeps everything i just mentioned in one place anyway 😭
other media recs:
f1tv, if it's available in your area, has pretty much everything you need to follow f1 in its entirety. i hate to shill for paid media but i genuinely think it's good; you can watch every f1, f2, f3 session real-time, as well as go to the archives and revisit old races for each series from most seasons. it also has technical shows and a whole host of minidocs with bite-sized info that are probably less sensationalized than dts. if you don't have f1tv though then a lot of decent content is cross-posted to the f1 youtube so honestly the official channels are all pretty good for keeping up with the sport.
podcasts: if you're an auditory person then podcasts are a great way to deepdive into f1 history. personally i believe that 80% of men running f1 podcasts should be legally barred from ever having an opinion on motorsport, so i don't listen to that many, but i do enjoy the official f1 podcast beyond the grid (i listen to it on spotify but you can also find full transcripts on the f1 site) since, you know, they get official personnel on and i appreciate the wide range of personalities interviewed—from drivers to tps to various types of engineers. i've also heard good things about shift+f1, the race, and engine braking, but i haven't checked them out so i'd recommend just looking podcasts up yourself and seeing what vibes with you! though some podcasts are just like... I'll eat this because you're interviewing my guy but i would never watch/listen to you otherwise. (cough pit stop...)
books & autobiographies: again if you want to dive more into old f1, then you can always read a book!! i read jenson's autobiography life to the limit earlier and was very endeared, it's a super breezy but charming read ❤️ adrian newey's memoir is also a decent overview of a clearly brilliant and accomplished mind, i enjoyed the technical details and found his early career path especially interesting.
docus, movies, tv: there's also plenty of f1 media outside of f1tv, so you can always check those out; f1 movies aren't necessarily that accurate or frankly good but sometimes it's fun just for the Vibes and the love of the sport. for ex rush (2013) covers james hunt & niki lauda's rivalry, netflix has a schumacher (2021) doc, the brawn gp miniseries ft. jense came out last november, just things like that... some current individual drivers also have their own random miniseries so you can always seek those out, for ex i watched maxv's anatomy of a champion the other day just for the fun of it LOL.
i don't know whether any of this is helpful... but maybe other people can reply with their own recommendations!!!
also if you're interested in f2, f3, etc. then honestly just follow feeder series on whatever platform since they cover everything pretty well; feeder_series on twitter, r/f1feederseries, plus they do interview podcasts on youtube/spotify so i like watching those to keep up with young drivers. you can also watch chasing the dream for succinct f2 narratives; it used to only be on f1tv but it gets uploaded on youtube now so it's fairly accessible. lmk if you have any other questions or something specific you'd like more info about!!!

Just popping by to say how much I appreciate you. Thank you for always keeping a level head. Even when you're disagreeing or calling out bullshit, you still manage to stay diplomatic and respectful. And of course, you always focus on the important things, the main one being that Michael is David's #1 fan (and vice versa)
Aw, thank you so much for this! I can't tell you how nice it was to get this message in my inbox (and apologies for not replying sooner, as I've been entirely swamped and am now trying to catch up on my Asks).
Given that this was from two weeks ago, I'm going to guess that this is mainly in response to the whole situation with David's BAFTA nom and some of the reactions that have occurred as a result. I think a lot of people have said a lot of clumsy things (looking at you, Neil) and while some may not have meant to take away from David's big moment, that still seems to be what's happened. I absolutely believe David is more than deserving of the nomination and it is long overdue at this point. He should've been nominated for Des, or even before that, his role as Alec Hardy in Broadchurch, but I am so glad he's finally gotten a nomination now.
I think the reaction a lot of people had was borne out of how tied together David and Michael's performances are as Aziraphale and Crowley, and the thought that if David were to be nominated for that specific role, then one hopes that Michael will also be nominated for his role as Aziraphale at some other point in the future.
But to your comment about my keeping a level head, I find it interesting that, in the midst of all the theories flying around about why Michael wasn't nominated and questions I got to that effect, this post showed up in the tags the same day you sent me this Ask (blog name is cropped out):
Tumblr media
This was very obviously in reference to this Ask that I received and had answered just prior to then. This person didn't even have the nerve to mention my blog by name, but had no problem calling me an "rpf fucker" (really nice...). The question pertained to whether Michael's lack of a BAFTA nom could have been because of Anna's off-putting social media posts prior to the announcement, and I indicated in my response that I did not believe this was the case. I am not about to place blame on Anna for something that she had no part of--which I suppose this person was hoping I would do, to give credence to their ludicrous claims of sexism--and I made my position on the matter clear.
So to your comment about me disagreeing, this was exactly what happened...and yet this person had to twist what I wrote so far around (to the point of lying by omission) just to make their point. And yes, I took that Ask seriously, as I take every Ask/Anon that I get seriously, even the ones that attack me (which is also why it takes me for-freaking-ever to answer the questions in my inbox). According to the above blogger, however, instead I should've responded to the person who sent the Ask by mocking them and telling them how ridiculous and stupid they are. Because just politely disagreeing while still allowing someone the space to share their thoughts is so horrible, but telling someone to fuck off is apparently the height of discourse. Ugh.
In any case, I am very much grateful for this message, and for you and everyone else who follows my blog and has been so lovely. It's your encouragement and kindness that gives me the drive to keep posting, so thank you! ❤️❤️

omg i just finished your emma vs amy takes and the subsequent discourse about it (which was so refreshing to see btw!! love it when adults can be Adults and argue about the topic without insulting the other person) and I might get fried for this but that incident aside, do you have any other scene/episode in mind where sam reacts the same way or does the same thing?
(im sorry if this isn't your cup of tea for asks! your takes have been Enlightening)
You mean another situation where Sam shoots a person with supernatural abilities who hasn't shed blood and has a sympathetic backstory without giving them a chance? Not as overtly—Benny in season 8's "Citizen Fang" certainly comes to mind, but even Benny, Sam at least made a show of giving a chance by assigning Martin to keep tabs on him and make sure he didn't do anything wrong before trying to kill him. (Though whether there was conscious or subconscious sabotage involved when Sam chose Martin specifically—someone he knew to be mentally unstable—is certainly a good question given Sam had already made death threats about Benny before then.)
The fact that Sam's behavior in 7.13 "Slice Girls" is pretty unique is really what I want to point out about this episode in the first place—that Sam's actions in "Slice Girls" are inconsistent with his previous behavior and future behavior as far as "good" monster episodes. We can turn to examples such as:
1.14 where Sam insists they try and talk Max down instead of killing him, because Max's murders are a result of extensive abuse.
Lenore and her nest in SPN's seminal "monsters can be good" episode (2.03)
Sam thinking Andy is responsible for the killings in 2.05 but still waiting for proof before acting.
2.09 where Sam insists they not kill someone they think might be infected with Croatoan virus before he turns and tries to kill them because that doesn't give him a chance.
Two episodes where Sam faces off against Gordon because Gordon wants to kill him before Sam kills someone (2.10, 3.07)
2.17 where Sam and Dean search for a cure for Madison, who is not aware that she has been killing people.
4.04 Metamorphosis where Sam is the one who takes the initiative to research Rugarus, learns that they can survive without giving into their urges, and insist they go and talk to him about how his body is changing (lol) so he has the chance to fight the urge to kill and eat people.
5.06 where Sam and Dean oppose Cas who wants to kill Jesse, who is a child who is not aware that he has powers and is hurting people.
6.02 where Sam, even soulless, recognizes the innocence of a shifter baby.
Then we have Amy and Emma in 7.03 and 7.13 respectively.
8.04 where the brothers let Kate the Werewolf go because she was turned against her will and killed the man who turned her in self-defense.
8.09 Citizen Fang (already discussed)
I'm getting lazy but then we also have Magda and Jack Kline—both children with powers, one severely abused, the other the son of the devil with uncontrolled explosive powers that could end the world, both of whom Sam attempts to help work with their abilities.
Dean has a more structured series of personal "rules"—a litmus test we see from the very beginning—one Sam often follows as well, but I'm not sure Sam ever really fully grasps that Dean thinks this way.
Has this person hurt or killed anyone?
Was it on purpose or was it outside of their awareness?
If it wasn't on purpose, are they capable of learning to control their urges?
We see this code as early as 1.12 "Faith":
SAM Wait, what the hell are you talking about Dean, we can't kill Roy. DEAN Sam the guys playing God, he's deciding who lives and who dies. That's a monster in my book. SAM No. We're not going to kill a human being Dean. We do that we're no better than he is.
Dean applies the same reasoning in 1.14 with Max:
SAM These visions, this whole time -- I wasn't connecting to the Millers, I was connecting to Max! The thing is I don't get why, man. I guess -- because we're so alike? DEAN What are you talking about. The dude's nothing like you. SAM Well. We both have psychic abilities, we both... DEAN Both what? Sam, Max is a monster, he's already killed two people, now he's gunning for a third.
Despite the exact opposite being the typical fandom perception, early on we learn that Sam tends to define a monster by their features/abilities, while Dean defines a monster by their actions. We see the same with Amy—she is "a monster who killed four people" (7.07) . She isn't a monster because of what she is but because of what she did. This again—is also why Dean doesn't even consider killing her son right after her kid swears to kill him one day. We see Dean, in the rare cases where it comes up, is also perfectly fine with taking out human serial killers they stumble across (ex: Thin Man).
Sam will also kill a human serial killer at times (and murderous witches by 3.09), but he reserves the word "monster" to describe individuals with supernatural features/abilities... and I think the fact that Sam's definition of the term differs from Dean's is something neither brother ever fully realizes about the other, leading at several points to arguments where they are talking past each other and do not understand one another. Sam hears "monster" and thinks "Dean is talking about me", when Dean is operating under a completely different definition of the term that is based on the actions of a person.
When Sam is in a headspace where he is thinking of himself as one of those monsters, he shows increased or lessened sympathy in turns. For example, he assumes Andy's guilt in 2.05 because he is panicked about becoming evil himself and is comparing the two of them (but again—still waits for confirmation) but his sympathy for Max in 1.14 comes from the same comparison with himself. Sam completely misrepresents Amy in 7.03 as an addict who relapsed but more generally is "managing", as a way to compare her with himself... when Amy didn't feed on anyone herself and her actions have absolutely nothing to do with addiction or battling "monstrous urges".
I've been bitching and moaning a lot, but I will reemphasize that there is a more sympathetic reason that Sam shoots Emma—Sam and Dean are both crowding up to the diving board at the deep end of the pool in season 7. Dean's grieving and is drinking extremely heavily to cope and Sam is hallucinating. They are both unraveling at the seams. Neither of them is in a place where they trust the other's judgement because they both know themselves and each other to be unstable. So if we imagine a reality where Sam and Dean give Emma a chance, and it doesn't take, Sam assesses himself and Dean to be in no mental state to cope with a potential surprise attack. It's just that Sam also erroneously compares Amy and Emma when they are not the same, and by doing so, frames Dean wanting to spare Emma but killing Amy as hypocrisy (because they are both "monsters") when Dean's actions are perfectly consistent with his personal ethical code and his definition of a "monster"... and Sam's actions aren't.

Hi Liv! I appreciate your recs so much, even as I am constantly weeping at your feet for increasing my Marked For Later list at an exponential rate.
I'm curious to know what fics you would rec that are deliciously depraved, debauched, and downright dirty. Smut so filthy and/or kinky that you can only read it from between your fingers as you cover your blushing face with both hands. My guilty favorite that has lived in an eternally-open tab is The Curse of Wanting by nothing_left_sacred, and I am ever on the hunt for something on that level of perverse indulgence. Help a degenerate out?
Hi anon! Lmao I’m sorry (or am I 😏) for your ever increasing mfl list, I am very familiar with the feeling and have given up on being up to date with my reading 🥲 @pennygalleon and I were just talking about this and I’ve considered deleting everything and starting a new mfl from scratch but am too lazy to do it right now, will prob try it later this year!
As for your depraved ask, I love it so much hehe let’s push the debauchery agenda forward pls and thank! My answer might be underwhelming but full disclosure: I actually haven’t read much filth in the Drarry fandom, or at least not a lot that makes me blush and cover my face (that rarely happens these days…). I am listing below a few Drarry fics that I find very hot and here’s a shoutout to Lokifan as one of my favorite smut authors - but tbh my followers might be more knowledgeable than me on this topic! Oh and thanks for reccing The Curse of Wanting, I’ll definitely check it out :)
Utter Cockslut (A Worthy Cause) by Lokifan
Harry sells Draco’s arse to all comers for a night. After all, it’s for a very worthy cause. Fluffier than it sounds.
Keep your hands on me by tenthousandyears
Malfoy binds himself with a sex curse. Harry cannot get enough (but would much prefer to keep Malfoy for himself).
The Adventures of a Pureblood Slut series by asphodellic
Draco Malfoy is arrogant, selfish, sarcastic, and let's be honest, drop dead sexy. But sometimes purebloods aren't as pure as they appear. A series of adventures involving Draco and the things that get him off.
It Started in the Shower series by chickenlivesinpumpkin
When Harry finds Malfoy in his shower at Grimmauld Place, the two boys struggle to keep their hands to themselves, not realizing that their 'enemies-with-benefits' relationship will eventually become considerably darker and more powerful. That relationship will influence the search for the horcruxes--and the war--in unpredictable ways.
Toeing the Line by shiftylinguini (Drarry + Teddy)
Draco wasn’t sure why watching his partner fuck Teddy until he screamed was somehow less morally iffy for Harry than just doing it himself, but Draco wasn’t about to judge. Not when he was balls deep, anyway.
+2 long angsty fic with lots of hot smut:
Another Mask Behind You by lettered
Draco is a high-end prostitute who hides his identity. Harry unknowingly hires him. And then there is porn, questions about identity, domestic bliss, more porn, and truth as seen through a web of lies. (And then more porn. Seriously, if you don’t want sex scene after sex scene you probably shouldn’t read this. And please read the warnings.)
Unhook the Stars by jad
For HP Sexstars 2012. - "Love is like a Rubix Cube: there are countless wrong twists and turns, but once you get it right, it's perfect no matter how you look at it." Seventy-thousand words of pornographic discourse between two boys-turned-men that still haven't learned how to communicate like normal people – with words.

Transfem Katsuki (edited as of Nov. 2023. Katsuki hadn't died yet when this was written so bear with me.)
In honor of "fuck I thought about transfem Katsuki and now I'm in love with her again" and also because of a shitty discourse post I saw. Enjoy.
She will NOT figure it out until at least second year of UA.
She's always been uneasy about the whole boy thing. Specifically boy. Like she's one of the guys ok sure but she's not a boy.
We know how kind Aldera is to anyone who's slightly out of the norm (ie Deku) and Katsuki is especially aware given she was part of the problem. So yeah, internalized transphobia (+homophobia) we love to see it./s
Getting into UA and quickly realizing that like more than half the class is openly and proudly queer in some way gave her whiplash, and as much of a bully as she still was at this point, she didn't say anything.
She tried to convince herself it was to not get in trouble and gamble her place at UA, but really she was just glad to not be somewhere as fucked as her middle school.
And if the trans ponytail chick makes her question who she really wants to be... well that's nobody's business.
As I am very subtly implying, Momo ends up being a big part of Katsuki accepting herself and her identity as a trans woman.
Katsuki loves her friend group (she'll never admit it but she does, so much) but she associates them with her old group from Aldera somewhat unconsciously, and is terrified they'll push her away, even if she knows she's just. Straight up wrong.
As in, so incredibly wrong. Sero and Jirou are non binary ("Whatever the hell that means") Kirishima is a proud trans man ("More of a man than any of the cretins at Aldera will ever be") Mina's dating a trans girl from another school ("Camie Utsushit or smth") and Kaminari is so many different flavors of queer its almost impressive.
Really, her friends are probably the ones that should be worried, she tries to remind herself, hammering it in her head. Katsuki was an asshole for most of her life, they should be the ones scared of her. They're not though. For some fuckin' reason.
So yeah, talking to her friend group is out of the question. Momo though.
Momo is a special kind of trustworthy. Momo is the kind of person you'd give your entire life savings, your child, your car and your wife to. Katsuki hates that, she hates trusting people, it always ends badly, so she prefers doing stuff on her own.
Except it doesn't always end badly. Especially not with Yaomomo.
Every early saturday morning, Katsuki's and Momo's workout sessions happen at the same time. Eventually, they start talking during that time. Katsuki eventually asks about Momo being trans, more or less convinced she'll tell her to go fuck herself (she obviously doesn't).
It helps, despite the fact that her experience isn't the same as Katsuki's at all. Momo always knew she was a girl, her parents always were supportive about it, and money really wasn't a problem to help her transition once she was old enough to make that decision. Hell, she can literally make estrogen.
Katsuki then comes to the realization that yeah, she's probably a girl. Not like I'll ever do shit about it, she thinks.
Things kinda stay stagnant for a time then. Katsuki has way more important stuff to worry about (like exams and also her and her friends almost dying etc etc) and the self-hatred that simmers in her head constantly doesn't make it really fun to actually think about herself.
Second year comes around.
Because this is me, and my blog, and I do what I want, I present to you my son, Shinsou. Most trans guygirl t4t lesbian of all time. In my heart.
So Shinsou is very trans in the most mysterious way you could think of, so mysterious he himself doesn't really know what is going on with his gender. He doesn't exactly care, he just vibes (any pronouns).
They're pretty knowledgeable on queer stuff because it loves to read wikipedia pages until 5AM when it can't sleep and got lost on multiple LGBTQ+ related forums when she was 13. (He also knows a lot about chickens and lizards.)
She can just breathe the queer coming out of Katsuki, but when they ask they're just met with "oh Bakugou? Yeah no, he's cishet. Our token straight man. To prove we're diverse, etc." (-Shouji, entirely serious). Shinsou's not buying it but she doesn't like assuming, so he shuts up.
Meanwhile, Katsuki has nothing to think about anymore now that things have settled and she's not getting attacked by her self-hatred constantly, so she unfortunately ends up thinking about her gender (truly tragic. Genuinely though, it's almost distressing because she pushed the thought down for so long that it's scary to think about).
Because early mornings and nights are a time outside of our world, it's again around 5AM that Katsuki talks to someone who might help her with her gender problem. Shinsou in fact, who's of course awake on a Monday morning after a sleepless night, eating cereal out of the box.
Katsuki finds herself chatting with the weirdo and eventually asks what the fuck kinda gender it is, if only to be able to call her something else than the weirdo in her head.
The realization that gender is a construct and doesn't really fucking exist so it doesn't actually matter is somewhat of an epiphany for Katsuki. Like she's silent for multiple minutes. Shinsou is getting scared
Quietly, she mutters a small "I think I'm a girl" to Shinsou. It smiles and says "Nice. There's not enough girls in this class." and goes back to its cereal.
Katsuki has no fucking idea how that fucker exists. He's an anomaly in the timeline. Katsuki adores them.
(Platonically. Girl doesn't have time for romantic love. Yes I'm also making her aromantic, because aro Katsuki is the loml and one of my fave hcs.)
After that weird but insightful conversation, Katsuki finally asks Momo for help, taking her up on an offer she had made one morning. ("If you ever need my help for anything concerning [your gender bullshit], come see me.")
Momo being the absolute QUEEN that she is, she assembles all transgirls and cisgirls of the class + whoever else would like to join (which ends up being Jirou, Shinsou and Aoyama) and they all go on a shopping trip with Katsuki to help her figure out what she likes.
Does she want to wear makeup? Does she want feminine clothes? Or long hair? Does she want boobs? Or thinner traits?
Does she just want different pronouns and to be addressed viewed as a girl?
Mina shortens that as "What kinda girl is Katsuki".
I'll do you the answer here so this doesn't take forever, because the process of figuring it out must be long.
Mainly, the verdict will eventually be that Katsuki didn't really feel comfortable in the box she, her parents and Aldera put her in, which is a sort of vague idea of a Boy, Man, Son. She's mean and a bitch and probably a tomboy and she's a girl. That's all. She doesn't want of any of that flowery pink crap and being "gracefully feminine" like Momo is, she'll still kick your teeth in. Being a girl isn't fundamentally part of her identity or her personality, but it's who she's comfortable being.
She does enjoy skirts once she feels comfortable enough to wear them. She grows her hair a bit too (because she doesn't wanna look like her mother at first, but she ends up liking the look) and puts it up in a ponytail.
Makeup is a bitch but it looks cool, so she lets Mina, Aoyama and Shinsou use her face as a canevas for their weird makeup experiments. She thinks she looks like a clown half the time though (she doesn't, she's really cute). She mostly does eyeliner, which she already knew how to do before starting her transition, and very rarely lipgloss.
She doesn't really care about having breasts or softer traits, mainly because her traits are already pretty androgynous when she looks at herself, and she's already got big pecs so like. Basically tits. It's the same, it doesn't really matter. She's happy with how her body looks, she worked to have a healthy body and she doesn't care if it's "not a woman's body" or whatever the fuck. She likes how her body is and she doesn't really care about changing it.
She thinks of using she/they (like Jirou) but doesn't exactly care about they/them? Like they're not bad to have used on her (way better than he/him) but she prefers just using she/her.
She doesn't change her first name. It means victory, so it's already perfect for her. It's her name.
Some of her friends (the ones who aren't scared of death cough cough Shinsou) call her Katsuki-chan (Kacchan is copyrighted) but most her friends call her Kats', because she let slip one time she thinks it's cute.
To end this because good lord I've been typing for some time, here's my Transfem Bakugou pinterest board. I actually have a bunch of transfem characters pinterest boards lmao
Also realizing I almost didn't talk about Izuku. Damn I've really betrayed myself as a bkdk truther. Rip.

Hey Lise, I know this is asking you to harken back to your MCU days but did you ever come across a meta post that was like, "we shouldn't compare Loki and Bucky's trauma; Loki's trauma is much more like Steve's pre-serum trauma and look at how ✨awesome✨ Steve is and how he dealt with that same trauma? Loki has no excuses!" Because I did and it still makes me mad to think about to this day.
If I'm remembering the post you're thinking of properly - and I definitely may not be, I could be thinking of a different post entirely (the staple of "compare the antagonist's trauma to a protagonist's trauma, comment on how the protagonist handled it sooooo much better and how that indicates that the antagonist deserved what he/she/they got, because the way somebody handles trauma is determinative of their goodness or evilness as a person" is a recurring tradition across time and fandoms, I'm sure there are multiple posts), that's not actually what I got from the one in question? perhaps it was just my lens, but (again, if I'm thinking of the same post), I recall it being relatively morally neutral, or at least more about looking at the ways in which "actually while the easy comparison is loki and bucky due to the position they occupy in the narrative, loki and steve have more in common in some ways and that's interesting" and I read it as, personally, a bit of a stoki manifesto.
like, "actually these characters people don't tend to associate/look at together have some very interesting parallels! isn't that neat?" more than anything coming with a moral judgment.
but getting this ask made me go back into the depths of my blog (truly, the depths) to track down the post I'm at least thinking of, and remarkably enough actually managed to find it (given that the post in question is from 2013), and...reading it from the perspective of Fandom Discourse in 2023 I can definitely see what it is you're saying, and I think if I saw it in Fandom Edition 2023 that's probably how I would read it, too, and get annoyed about it. but looking at it from the perspective of where things were at that time, before the great villain/victim discourse of Winter Soldier kicked in, I actually feel a relative minimum of judgment from the post? Like, it does describe the different choices steve and loki make in response to their experiences in positive/negative terms, but it doesn't then progress to (at least in my reading) "and that's why loki is evil and NO EXCUSES" (Fandom 2023 Edition), but stays at just...letting it be about divergent character journeys coming from similar-but-different places? idk.
like, at the very least this one acknowledges that the "bad" character was genuinely hurt and having an understandable emotional reaction. which is not necessarily something one sees these days.
idk. maybe I'm being too generous. but then, I am more inclined to be generous to a post made in 2013 concerning this, when the pattern of discourse in fandom was a little different, than I would be reading a similar post now. perhaps that's unfair.
but I did link this specific post in several "why you should ship stoki" masterposts at the time, so if your read on this post is accurate then I feel very okay about taking it elsewhere.

Let's choose violence together, #10 worst part of fanon, #22 favorite part everyone ignores, and #25 fandom complaint you're sick of hearing. :3
10. Worst part of fanon? I answered this question previously by explaining my personal dislike for visibly biracial Alistair. So in the interest of maintaining my sodium levels, I've chosen a different bugbear for today: Hawke. While Hawke is obviously the most developed of the player characters, I feel like sometimes people forget that others play these games differently to them (or indeed, differently between their own runs), and I find it frustrating when people making assumptions and generalisations based upon their own Hawke, especially where other canonical options are possible. As one can imagine, this comes up especially frequently with mage discourse: everyone acts like Hawke (and especially a mage Hawke) is pro-mage. Given my most recent DA2 playthrough was with a self-loathing mage Hawke, I find this very amusing lol. 22. Favourite part that everyone ignores I have already waxed lyrical about my love of Chantry history, so I think my second-favourite, more specific part, is how Arl Eamon has two dads. Ostensibly due to a continuity error between The Stolen Throne (featuring Rendorn Guerrin) and Inquisition (featuring Fort Connor, who Eamon named after his dad), word of God decided to just. Run with two dads thing which I think is very neat. I think it is also particularly noteworthy how Howe also has a similar background... given all the history of polyamory in Fereldan history, I am a Fereldan polyamory truther. (This is also relevant to my Maric/Loghain/Rowan agenda 😌) 25. Fandom complaint that you're tired of hearing I've previously mentioned my frustration with the complaints about Dreadwolf and its development time, so I guess another thing that annoys me is how people complain about how toxic the fandom is. Not to downplay any of the awful harassment campaigns that have happened in the past, but in my personal experience, Dragon Age fandom is unfortunately not unique in this regard. What I prefer about it compared to some other fandoms I've been in the past is that it is just so large that it feels like I'm never ever going to even entirely plumb the depths of fanworks of my blorbos, let alone what I might encounter should I branch out even further! Of course, that does mean there's a lot more awful background noise to tune out, but I'm fortunate to be at a place with myself in life where I can tune it out with relative ease. I understand why it might not be as easy for others 😅 [choose violence ask game]

(1/?) I've got a kink/fet discourse question, and I'm not sure how to broach it without it sounding awful. Have you seen people taking their kinks/fetishes to places where they don't belong offline? When it's happened, do people who share in it tend to speak up against it? Do they get shouted down or accused of bigotry when they try to tell the kinky person not to push their kinks on non-participants?
(2/?) I've had a few run-ins with pup players in a sfw furry group I manage say that pup play isn't adult/+18 and have been pushing for pup hoods to be accepted in our pg-13 group. Which is, uh, not a good look. It says more about them. Really, we've got one rule that's visible in two spots: We have kids and families that go to our events and hang out in our chats, so of course we don't fetish/kink stuff being posted.
(3/?) Thankfully me and my fellow admins have come to a consensus that we don't want it in our groups. The few pup players we have had didn't post anything graphic; just a picture of them in their pup hoods doing innocuous stuff--but it's still them in their pup stuff. I've removed their pictures right when it's come up and told them that it goes against our rules. Again, it's been a small number of pup players who have done this. They've left when I've reminded them of the rules.
(4/?) There aren't many of them to begin with. We don't have a problem with anyone else as long as they don't post nsfw/adult shit or do something bad. So that got me wondering if it's been my bad experiences or if this is a trend I need to be worried about. I know we've got overlap between critters and furrys. I've had to explain that while it doesn't have to be sexual, pup play has always been an adult thing given where's come from.
(5/?) The idea seems to be that a pup hood is no different than a fursuit or costume and that it isn't an adult thing And I know that's a lie .People carded at fet/kink events, and I know children aren't generally permitted in those spaces because of safe/sane/consensual and legalities. I've seen images of pups interacting with kids, and I know that doesn't speak for all critters--much less all kinksters/fetfolk(best word I could think of, sorry).
(end) I wanted to hear some other perspectives, and know if it's just been the few pups I've seen being the extreme vocal minority or if this is a more widespread issue with other kink/fet groups. I don't see rubberists or other fetishists doing this. The few pups I've had to deal with think it's part of being a furry. I guess this is a "yes but actually no" kind of thing exclusive to furry overlap? This doesn't help the furry/lgbt=pedo stigma, much less for kinksters/fetfolk either. Help plz.😭
I've had the unfortunate experience of a witnessing a DDlg couple in public, though it was in a relatively child-free context. Beyond that, no, I can't say I've seen too many kinksters try to insist their interests aren't sex related, beyond some very... questionable BDSM enthusiasts who seem to think that a BDSM lifestyle isn't inherently sexual. I'm not really sure what to say to that beyond it being just so genuinely stupid it's not worth arguing.
I'm not much of a furry myself, though I like drawing sfw furry stuff because there are so many cute styles, so I don't know much about the community.
Also: Sorry that I left these asks sitting around for ages, because it was a multi parter I wanted to answer it on desktop and I just rarely ever go on tumblr when using a computer.
People with more insight than me, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Hii I id as a bi lesbian for several reasons
I used to constantly question whether I was actually bi or whether the attraction I sometimes experienced to men was comphet and I've given up trying to figure out my "true" identity
I feel like I might best be described as bi but with like a 75% preference for women (and like 20% genderqueer ppl and 5% men) so it feels weird to call myself bi if I'm mostly attracted to one gender
There are times when the reason I am not attracted to someone is because they're a man (even though once a blue moon I do feel attracted to men?)
I'm genderfluid and also sometimes attracted to other genderqueer people and adding the bi to the identity feels more inclusive to people that don't strictly id as women, since even though I find the lesbian label valid and comfy doesn't mean that other genderqueers do
When I do experience attraction to men, I don't really experience romantic attraction, but I definitely experience that with women and other genderqueers
Id-ing as a lesbian has been really validating for my gender identity
No real life queer person I have talked to about my identity (including many lesbians and genderqueer people) has given a shit that I call myself a bi lesbian
The only place I have seen negative discourse/people arguing about whether you can be both is Tumblr (and some Twitter screenshots)
It doesn't hurt anyone?? And feels right for me?? So I don't get why people on the Internet care so much. It just feels like a rehash of gold-star gay discourse (which is kinda transphobic tbh)
(and there are also many other reasons people choose to use that label and seeing your asks was literally the first time I've ever seen someone say it is a transphobe thing)
(also trans men and lesbians have been fucking each other since the dawn of time and it doesn't mean that they were invalidating each other's identities)
(also people splitting up lesbian and bi identities is a relatively new thing. Historically lesbian just meant wlw.)

Jesse Flower ask game
Sunflower- What name(s) were you originally thinking of calling your OC?
Jesse is the only name I remember. He started as a self insert, and Jesse was from my middle name. His last name Roberts originally was going to be Wright, since Jesse is a writer. That last name is actually given to Lyle, who is Jesse's step brother.
Rose- What is your OC's favorite form of self-care?
Journaling. He was going to be a journalist before the apocalypse, and journal entries are sprinkled throughout the book. It's his only way to truly express himself.
Lilac- Does your OC have a comfort item? If so, what is it?
Jesse would consider every single thing he owns a comfort item he simply can't live without. His headphones, glasses, guns, supplies? Definitely. But I think his true comfort items are the scraps from before the apocalypse. Any pictures he brought to college, blankets, the jewelry his step sister made him that he regrets every making fun of her for. He pretends to be too good for all this crap, that he doesn't matter, but truthfully if anyone breaks any of it he WILL snap and WILL kill them.
Orchid- What is your OC's biggest fear?
Becoming useless, and dying hating himself. So much of his self worth is placed in his skills, if that's taken away he realizes just how unlikable he is. He's not ready to face the person that lies under all his false confidence. (I want to do a longer post on how Rory changed the ending of Jesse's story)
Snapdragon- What is your OC's most used phrase?
A long string of expletives, I imagine. Or some form of "fuck 'em, I don't need them".
Daisy- What inspired you to create your OC?
The Walking Dead game, originally. Than I liked him so much I made him his own character and story.
Lily- What is your OC's love language?
Acts of service. Anything that needs done, he'll do. He'll learn new skills to impress someone. He wants to prove he can be useful and provide for them.
Poppy- How is your OC around strangers?
A total jackass. An asshole. Cold and a know-it-all. He thinks he's above needing people, and you better prove your worth quickly before he decides he's sick of the conversation.
Violet- Do a voice claim for your OC
He mostly just sounds like me if I lower my voice. He's from New Hampshire though, if that pinpoints an accent.
Tulip- If you could say/do one thing to your OC, what would you say/do?
I have nothing to say to this guy, he wouldn't listen to me. I'll give him a can of beans and send him on his way. Maybe give him new shoes for his long trip.
Sweat pea- What color are your OC's eyes?
Until told otherwise, always assume my characters have brown eyes.
Jasmine- If your OC had a Tumblr blog, what would their URL be?
I'm not sure how well Jesse would get along on tumblr, but if he had a tumblr URL there are two routes. 1 that's violent, like "Jesse-squeezes-lemons-in-your-eyes" or one that's professional, "jesse-roberts-journalist" or something. Either way he posts journal entries and gets into a lot of writing discourse.
Dandelion- Does your OC gets overwhelmed easily?
He does well under stress, sometimes better than he would without. He gets overwhelmed when it's an internal conflict, or anything managing his own or someone else's feelings and problems. He just doesn't know how to sympathize with others or care for himself, even when he's really trying.
Marigold- Describe your OC in three words or less
Piece. of. shit.
Daffodil- Is your OC likeable?
No.
Petunia- When was the last time your OC cried?
Last time he cried he was probably alone on the road, trying to fall asleep as his thoughts spiraled out of control to think of every bad thing that's ever happened to him or the bad things he's done and regretted.
Buttercup- Does your OC have any odd quirks/habits?
He has 2 glaring bad habits: smoking, and lying.
Lavender- How does your OC cope with loud noises?
He wears noise canceling headphones for this reason, he's protecting his hearing. He's so used to gun shots he's not bothered by loud noises much though.
Snowdrop- What is something your OC loves, and what is something they hate?
I want to do obscure things for this- He hates rabbit stew, or any other lean meat or abundant but low nutrient food source. He loves fake cigarettes, either candy or herbal. He almost likes them more than real cigarettes.
Winterberry- Use one or more photos that encapsulate your OC's clothing style
I'll edit later with photos, but it's pretty reliant on layers. He wears anything he can get his hands on that'll protect him. Grungy and thick clothes, mostly.
Wisteria- Does your OC have a skill they'd like to learn? What is stopping them?
He's very confident in the skills he has, but after meeting Rory, he wants to pick up guitar to impress him. He's held back because his dad had tried to teach him and he hated it, and now he has to learn on his own.

Reassessing Taxation
By: twitter: ItsSanMan
Tumblr media
In today's political discourse, taxation invariably holds a pivotal position. As a libertarian, I have consistently championed the principles of individual liberty, personal property rights, and free, voluntary transactions. These values serve as the bedrock of my examination and critique of the institution of taxation.
The question we must consider first is whether taxation is ethical. In its essence, taxation is a compulsory charge imposed by the state on its citizens. It is not a voluntary contribution but rather a coerced expropriation of one's property. Therefore taxation can be equated with theft.
The modern state's insatiable demand for resources, manifested through expanding public programs, soaring defense budgets, and social welfare initiatives, continues to fuel ever-increasing tax rates. This trend is concerning, especially given the state's capacity to regulate money and engage in deficit financing. The state is not constrained by the same rules that bind ordinary citizens, as it can create money, accrue debt, and extract wealth, creating a framework of financial manipulation and wealth appropriation.
Proponents of taxation often argue that it is a necessary means to fund public goods and services that the market would otherwise fail to provide. Roads, schools, and defense are commonly cited examples. However, the question that begs to be asked is whether these services can only be provided by the state or whether they could also be effectively produced and allocated within the private sector. Many of these so-called "public goods" could indeed be offered through the market mechanism, perhaps with better quality and efficiency.
Some also contend that taxation is a crucial tool for achieving social justice, primarily through the mechanism of income redistribution. The Robin Hood idea of taking from the rich to give to the poor may seem enticing on the surface, but it overlooks key economic realities. High tax rates on wealth and income can significantly undermine the incentives for production, savings, and investment, consequently stifling economic growth. More fundamentally, such redistribution implicitly assumes that the state has a superior claim over the fruits of an individual's labor than the individual themselves, which is a violation of property rights.
In today's interconnected world, the burden of taxation extends far beyond the wallet. It shapes economic behavior, alters investment decisions, and even drives companies and individuals to relocate to different jurisdictions. Rather than contributing to prosperity, these distortions can undermine economic efficiency and impede growth.
In my vision of a truly free society, there would be no place for coerced taxation. Instead, funding for various services would be raised through voluntary contributions, user fees, and other non-coercive means. It might seem utopian, but remember that societies and systems have evolved and changed throughout history, based on prevailing beliefs about what is ethical and possible.
Indeed, the ethos of the time is key. In this era of digital currencies, blockchain technologies, and smart contracts, we have the potential to envision and enact alternative mechanisms for societal cooperation and funding. The emergence of decentralized autonomous organizations, peer-to-peer lending platforms, and crowdfunded initiatives suggest potential pathways to a future not reliant on coercive state-imposed taxation.
To truly progress towards a society anchored in individual freedom, property rights, and voluntary interactions, we must critically challenge the existing paradigm of taxation. Reconsidering its ethical implications and effectiveness opens the door to envision and explore alternatives. We live in an age teeming with innovative technologies and societal structures that offer glimpses of a future less reliant on coerced state taxation. Harnessing these potentials may lead us to a socio-economic structure where taxation is not a necessity but a relic of the past.

Question Good evening Father Angelo, I know that we all have a Guardian Angel (it is a truth of faith) who has the task of protecting us, helping us, and interceding for us. I wonder why there are so many prayers to the Guardian Angel if his task is precisely to protect us. That is, it’s like I had a bodyguard paid to protect me… What sense would it be asking to protect me if that’s his job?… Wouldn’t it be superfluous since he’s only doing his duty? That is, it seems useless to ask the Guardian Angel to protect me and help me… When he has the task of doing so! The same discourse could extend to the patron saints… If they have the duty to intercede for us, what sense does it make to ask them with prayer? I don’t know if I was able to explain my perplexity well! Sincerely Answer from the priest Dearest son, 1. What you say about the Guardian Angel, you rightly then apply it also to the intercession of the Saints. One could go a step further and say that the same discourse also applies to the Blessed Virgin Mary and to Our Lord Himself. Why does the Lord ask us to pray if He follows us uninterruptedly, if He is our Father and does not even allow a hair of our head to fall to the ground without His will? Yet is the Lord who urges us to pray. Indeed, He commands us to pray. In the Sermon on the mountain He says: “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. Because whoever asks receives, and whoever seeks finds, and to whoever knocks it will be opened” (Mt 7,7-8). He also commands it through St. Paul: “I therefore want men to pray in every place, raising pure hands to Heaven, without anger and without controversy” (1 Tm 2,8). He also teaches us to ask in the right way and that is in His name. During the last supper He said: “So far you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete” (Gv 16,24). He also asks to pray uninterruptedly: “He told them a parable about the need to pray always, without ever getting tired” (Lc 18,1). 2. Regarding prayer, we must be certain of one thing: that our prayers do not serve to make our needs known to God, the Blessed Virgin, our Angels and Saints. They know them infinitely better than we do. If we are asked to pray it is because we dispose of our hearts to receive the gifts that God wants to give us to use them well, in a holy way. This is why St. Augustine says that “the reasonable creature offers prayers to God… to build himself, not to instruct God” (De gratia N. Testam., 29). 3. The Church reveals to us the meaning of prayer made to God through intercession of the Saints in a verse of the liturgy: “ut digni efficiamur promissionibus Christi” (so that we become worthy of Christ’s promises). When do we become worthy of Christ’s promises? When we humbly pray, as the tax collector did in the temple, as the Lord recalls in the Gospel: “But the tax collector stood at a distance, unwilling even to lift up his eyes to heaven. Instead, he beat his breast and said: «God, have mercy on me, a sinner»” (Luke 18,13). In our questions we must remember that we are not worthy of being heard because we have used God’s gifts so many times to crucify the son of God again (cfr. Eb 6,6). This awareness should lead us to a change of conduct. 4. If despite the uninterrupted prayer the Lord does not answer our prayers it means that we are not yet willing to receive the graces that He wants to give us to use them in a holy way or even that what we ask for is not good for us in view of our sanctification. Sometimes it can happen that the Lord does not listen to us because He wants to give us greater good. 5. Coming now to your explicit question: prayer to the Guardian Angels does not serve to remind them that they must do their duty. They are very eager to do so. They are impatient, it seems, to be able to help us. They go out of their way to do their duty to us. But our heart is closed to their action, to their dedication.
Because of sin we remain closed and impervious to their help. Moreover, perhaps a thank you never comes from our lips, never a hint of gratitude, never a request for forgiveness for having remained so long closed to their love and their incessant dedication. And then we expect them to do our duty! As you can see, it is we who must do our duty by opening ourselves to these messengers of divine goodness towards us. Our Angels want to help us primarily to grow in holiness. And there is no holiness if there is no humility, if there is no gratitude, if there is no repentance. 6. I like to remember that in the old Confiteor that was recited at the beginning of Mass, and that now it is not forbidden to recite in one's personal devotions, the Church taught us to repent even before the Angels because of our closure and our ingratitudes. Here is the text: “I confess to Almighty God, to the blessed ever virgin Mary, to St. Michael the Archangel, to St. John the Baptist, to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, to all the Saints and to you brothers that I have sinned a lot in thoughts, words, works and omissions. My fault, my fault, my very great fault. And I beg the blessed always virgin Mary, St. Michael the Archangel, St. John the Baptist, the holy apostles Peter and Paul, all the saints and you brothers to pray for me to the Lord our God”. In St. Michael Archangel, who is the prince of the ranks of the Angels, all the Angels are enclosed and in particular our Guardian Angel. 7. Becoming saints is the same as growing in love and communion with everyone. In particular with those whom God has given us so that with infinite solicitude they enlighten us, guard us, govern us, according to what is disposed of by the paternal love of God for us. Wishing you to grow in communion of love and gratitude with the Angels, I assure you of my prayers and I bless you. Father Angelo

06:30 PM 🖇️ sanzu haruchiyo x reader
— theme. fluff, crack
Tumblr media
"theoretically, if i were to ask you out right now, would you say yes?" sanzu puts a hand underneath his chin, as if he was in an intellectual discourse with you, the pink of his tongue poking at the corner where his scar and lips meet.
you hummed, not even thinking twice before you replied with a hard, no. sanzu gasps drammatically, his limbs falling down his sides as he approached you with big strides. it only took two steps for him to appear right in front of you, lips pursed into a pout, blue eyes staring at you behind the curtains of his pink eyelashes.
"but why not?" you turned away, licking your bottom lip before continuing in with your work that kokonoi had given you, counting away at the money you almost wanted to steal if not for the fear of a bullet that they won't hesitantly plant on your head.
"why woud i?" "what if i'd be a good boyfriend?"
sanzu exclaims, one hand placed on his chest, giving you the best puppy eyed he could muster even though you weren't even looking his way. of course, if you ever did, your resolve would waver and your answer may change—the bonten executive has such pretty eyes you could never say no to.
"why are you even asking me this?" you sighed, putting the stack of money down with a soft thud. you couldn't concentrate with all this nonsense chatters of his, and you're ready to just give him a piece of your mind so he'll finally leave you alone to your own devices.
sanzu sucks in a breath. "what if—this is just a theory, okay? don't think too much about it, okay?—what if i like you. theoretically. hypothetically speaking. situational question—"
"i get it!"
warmth crept up your cheeks as you took a moment to think on a plausible answer, before sighing and turning to face him with your cheeks flared and broght red hue dusting the tips of your ears. you cleared your throat to save yourself from the embarassment of ever stuttering, "hypothetically, i would say i'd like you too."
sanzu looks away, the corners of his lips turning up. his gaze is suddenly more interested on the money on the table, feeling uneasy when he felt his cheeks going warmer each second. "hypothetically, would you say yes if i were to ask you out on a date?"
you clicked your tongue, "hypothetically i would."

BnHA Chapter 328: Pandora’s Box of Discourse
Previously on BnHA: DEKU TOOK A BATH.
Today on BnHA:
youtube
Also Naomasa grew a beard. Goddamn.
please let this be a cool chapter that plays nice with my ADHD lol
(ETA: lol I feel guilty because a lot of people hated this chapter, but I’m just happy there was a lot of stuff to make fun of, and also that I have another week to work on my backlog of meta posts since the kids were MIA.)
around one month ago?? ah, okay, so we’re gonna find out what was in that Tartarus security file huh
I love that they just randomly set the place on fire
Tumblr media
was it necessary to do this in order to escape? no. was it a good idea to set the island they were occupying on fire while they were in the midst of still occupying it? uh. was it cinematic as fuck? fuck yeah
wow it’s a pervert!!
Tumblr media
that’s so great that the villains set loose this fine fellow who I’m sure is definitely not a serial rapist. truly the LoV is so noble and misunderstood. they’re just trying to free society from its chains people
oh my god??!
Tumblr media
SHANKED!!! oh my god I cheered for Stain before I realized what I was doing. time to have an identity crisis I guess
so he’s all “hey what’s going on.” which, while a respectable question, is something I personally would have waited to ask until I had put a bit of distance between myself and the fiery murder island. but that’s just my personal preference
Stain you really are tenacious I’ll give you that
Tumblr media
“what’s the point of escaping prison if you’re not gonna be smart about it” well shit. anyways yeah you’re dead right, society is in the process of collapsing and the outside world is in total chaos, good call there
oh shit
Tumblr media
I mean it’s not like we really expecting anything otherwise, but still. fucking brutal. I feel like these guys’ fates were decided the minute that one guy called AFO “scum” back in chapter 94. AFO is unmatched at getting long-term revenge
??
Tumblr media
ahh, was it the security footage??
fdsdfk he’s still alive??
and he’s immediately launching into an inappropriately theatrical monologue even as the darkness closes in on him fdlfksjdlk. you know, was it ever confirmed that the other guy back in chapter 297 was Seiji’s dad? I’m just saying
Tumblr media
very impressed that he’s still coherent enough to weigh the pros and cons before making the decision to gamble on giving this info to Stain, who at the very least has his own moral code and isn’t allied with AFO. it was definitely still a risk, but as we now know it was also the right call
Tumblr media
what a weird alliance. so Stain tells him that he’ll give it to a just person, and the guy is all,
Tumblr media
okay for real though I’m gonna need someone to run a DNA test on this guy. maybe it was some kind of cuckold situation?? the other guy had the family resemblance, but this guy absolutely 100% raised Shishikura Seiji and you are not going to convince me otherwise
anyway, so Stain is all,
Tumblr media
PRISON GUARD: “???? ??????? what the hell. what the fuck does that fucking mean. I’m dying here, jesus christ, whatever man fuck you”
(ETA: I kind of feel like this might have been Stain’s last appearance in the manga, given all the fanfare. there’s not really much else he can do for the story at this point, and he seems to have gotten all the character development Horikoshi was planning on giving him. so if this really is it, hasta la vista and good riddance I guess.)
DWLFDKSLDK MEANWHILE, OUTSIDE
Tumblr media
(ETA: I feel like this is meant to be evocative of that Sermon on the Mount painting, but in a really fucked up way lol.)
if it were me stumbling upon this scene I would just shake my head and walk right back into the flaming building. not getting involved in that mess. sorry not sorry. I’ll take my chances with the fire, especially given that it’s half-assed neutered BnHA fire lol
blah blah blah and so he decided to pass the info on to All Might -- HOT DAMN, HOLY SHIT
Tumblr media
NAOMASA HOLY SHIT. THE APOCALYPSE LOOKS GOOD ON YOU, BOY
“I really like that facial scruff thing Aizawa’s got going on, I think I’m gonna get in on that” yes sir. “also thinking of ditching the tie in favor of the bulletproof vest look. also thinking of getting totally fucking jacked.” good lord. except I’m pretty sure that’s just body armor, but also I don’t care. anyway I should probably stop staring and actually read the fucking speech bubbles here lol
“All Might first handed this information over to Nao, and then went to see Deku, and then came back to Nao” thanks for that tidy little summary Horikoshi. we are capable of piecing events together in sequential order, I just want you to know that. but thank you
“so has Deku finally gotten a bath? also, sucks that Stain saved the day, but what are you gonna do” Nao I missed you so fucking much and didn’t even realize. how am I just now realizing that you are the perfect man
for a second I was gonna ask why Tartarus’s security systems would be cut off from the outside world, and then I remembered that’s a basic security control, and then I actually got impressed by how sensible that is. like, it’s been a while since I could genuinely say that the good guys (excluding class 1-A) did something smart. not that it helped them much in the end, but still
anyway so they’re talking about how AFO was able to coordinate the attack by communicating between his horcrux self on the outside and his ugly peanut-faced self on the inside
huh

okay you have my attention. I am taking notes here lol please continue
ah okay so he says that prior to Jakku, the transfer of information between him and his Vestige self was only one-way. but post-Jakku when Deku was in the hospital, he was able to tell what was happening inside the OFA Radical Lisa Frank Dead People Book Club Realm when he touched him. I feel like we established that before, actually. but he didn’t talk about how it actually felt, though
Tumblr media Tumblr media
boy we already know this lol. yes AFO can talk with his horcrux self. and he can also communicate with his little bro in OFA too, let’s talk about that sometime why don’t we. what exactly does that imply, based on the rules we’ve established here
my god I cannot get over Naomasa and his fucking facial hair
Tumblr media
no wonder All Might was in such a hurry to leave Deku and get back here
like I have no idea what this radio waves nonsense is but my god, people
Tumblr media
that jawline. also so it’s a quirk, I see. except last I checked Deku didn’t have a radio waves quirk, so that doesn’t really explain his connection to AFO. but whatever, hopefully we’re at least getting closer to some kind of reveal here
(ETA: since I sometimes forget that other people’s lives don’t revolve around my theory posts, here are the two relevant links if you by chance want to know my thoughts about this.
Hagakure is still The U.A. Traitor™ regardless of whether Deku is passing information on to AFO through his psychic link, which he almost certainly is.
speaking of said psychic link, Deku is a horcrux.
just posting these now, because whenever trippy OFA stuff happens I tend to get an influx of theory asks. so hopefully this will be a bit of a time saver lol.)
-- wait, what
Tumblr media
THAT’S what the recording was??!? holy SHIT. I genuinely was not expecting that. y’all wiretapped his fucking telepathy. fucking quirks, man. wild
AND THEY USED THAT POWER TO DETERMINE WHAT WE ALREADY KNEW, HUZZAH. GOOD SHOW
Tumblr media
-- oh shit wait lol, except I forgot we’re not talking about 38 days from the present, we’re talking about 38 days from the date the conversation was recorded. heh. um
Tumblr media
yeah that’s the face I would make too if All Fucking Might just casually told me we had eight days left until the end times
oh, pardon me. three fucking days
Tumblr media
r.i.p. anyone who thought we were going to have another band arc sob. I sure hope Deku is enjoying that nap
(ETA: I realize people were hoping for a longer rest period here, but given that the man warned us all the way back in chapter 306 that we were entering the final act, you can’t really blame him too much when that turns out to be true. anyway but I do recognize that we’ve reached the point in the story where this kind of discourse is going to become a weekly occurrence, simply because there’s no possible way for Horikoshi’s actual endgame to line up perfectly with the variable headcanons of millions of fans, all of whom have wildly differing and in many cases contradictory expectations which can’t possibly all be fulfilled. anyway, so I’m already bracing myself for that lol. this coming year is going to be a wild ride.)
damn, U.A. out here looking like the motherfucking United Nations
Tumblr media
-- is this U.A.?? I actually just realized, U.A. is four interconnected buildings, not two. wait holy shit is this Shiketsu?
wait holy SHIT
Tumblr media
based on the overwhelmingly powerful vibes of bureaucratic incompetence, I’m thinking this really is the (future) U.N., or whatever organization it is that deals with international hero stuff
“just let them handle it themselves I’m sure they’ll be fine” yeah okay, thanks guys. appreciate it
wait oh shit did he say that it’s not just Japan?
Tumblr media
soooo, what you’re telling me is that AFO is this close to bringing about the end of not just Japan, but the entire world, and you guys don’t think it’s a good idea to help the Japanese heroes stop him? so, genuine follow-up question: are you guys already planning your rich people exodus into space a la Wall-E, and that’s why you don’t give a fuck?? like, what??
omg international heroes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
these guys are from World Hoodie Mission, right? is this Horikoshi’s way of reminding me to buy tickets
(ETA: and it worked too lol.)
WHO??? WHAT???
Tumblr media Tumblr media
don’t tell me you’re introducing yet another badass new female character for me to fall in love with only to watch as you dismember them and/or blow them up, Horikoshi. I’m getting tired of playing this game my dude. don’t lie and tell me this time will be different. we’re not doing this again goddammit
noooooooooooooooooooo
Tumblr media
god fucking dammit lmao. [sighs and rips the previous paragraph into shreds]
on behalf of Americans I apologize for our superheroes always being Like This
I also apologize because I love her already and I’m gonna be shameless about it. so fucking shameless you guys
is her fucking hair red white and blue. it is, isn’t it
this is the volume cliffhanger, 100% lol. it will take every ounce of Horikoshi’s willpower not to put her on the volume cover. he’ll have to settle for the spine or the inner cover this time because Deku VS his class 1-a superpals takes precedence. but it will be a close thing let me tell you
tbh it’s that smile that does it for me. she’s definitely All Might’s protege. get out there and show them how it’s done girl. and maybe call Salaam and BRD and see if you can’t convince them to play hooky from their governments as well. why not. world’s ending in three days you guys. “sorry, I’m busy this weekend” ain’t gonna cut it lol
so while I am not fully caught up with Vigilantes, I have read far enough to know that there’s an American hero named Captain Celebrity whose superpower from what I recall is being a humongous douchebag. and while I haven’t read far enough to know what happens to this guy, I can’t say I’m very disappointed to learn that he’s no longer the number one hero in the U.S. (actually, didn’t they kick him out and that’s why he moved to Japan to begin with?). anyway, so my thanks to Horikoshi for having a marginally higher opinion of Americans than Furuhashi, even though we have definitely not done anything to warrant said opinion lately, and you may have inadvertently opened the door to a pandora’s box of discourse lmao
(ETA: lol I went into the tags and they don’t disappoint. “why is she dressed like a flag” because she’s an homage to Captain America and Major Victory and literally every other character on this list. again, I apologize for fictional American superheroes being Like This. “oh boy another thicc waifu to make the fanboys happy” look, tumblr fandom never seems to have a problem thirsting over Dabi or Tomura or Aizawa or Nao, lol, I’m just saying. “where is Captain Celebrity” idk, probably murdered by the exploding bee cartel, let’s just be grateful for our good fortune and try not to Beetlejuice the man.)
anyway, so let’s see if Horikoshi’s recent character development with regards to making Mineta not terrible anymore will apply to other aspects of his writing as well. I know I was making light of discourse just now, but I do think the complaints about him introducing yet another new character at the 11th hour to be cannon fodder in the final battle are absolutely valid. and again, it wouldn’t be a problem if he didn’t keep maiming/killing off his female characters one by one instead of developing them and letting them kick ass long-term. but that said, I will never complain about Horikoshi adding another female character to the series, regardless of how clumsy the attempt may be. go ahead and pander away, just give us more girl power lol
anyway so we’ll see how it goes, but I think I’m gonna be optimistic and let myself hope once again, even though I’m probably gonna regret it lol. it is what it is. she is standing on an airplane just chilling for fuck’s sake. I’m only human. anyway fingers crossed
