Your eyes flutter open slowly and you lie there, taking in the strange surroundings you’ve awoken to. The first thing that you notice is that you’re not wearing your own clothes and this is followed shortly by the fact that everything -even your hair, hurts.
The door to the bedroom gives a slow creak as it’s pushed open and a man you’ve never seen before, -albeit a handsome one, muscular with buzzed dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, leans in the doorway and watches with arms folded over his chest as you attempt to sit up clumsily.
There’s a bottle of Southern Comfort sitting on a table by the door and it’s got wildflowers sitting inside, you notice. The room you find yourself in reminds you in some ways of a hospital. Or a prison infirmary, though you’re not sure why that last one comes to mind.
“W-who are you?” You wince at the sound of your own voice as you ask the question and you fall silent again, waiting on the man to answer.
“Shane Walsh, darlin. Wouldn’t advise movin around too much.” he nods to the way you’re still fighting to sit up in bed a little better as he moves across the room and sinks down to sit at the bottom of the bed. It hurts a little that you can’t just look at him and remember who he is, but Herschel’s warned him that you may or may not have significant injury to your memories because you’d taken a blow or two to the head at some point in time before Shane got lucky enough to find you.
You repeat his name. “Shane Walsh.” but nothing about it stirs any kind of memory at first.. After a second or two, you feel this tug. Its’ as if you should know him like the back of your hand but the more you try, the more it frustrates you when you can’t seem to for the time being.. You stop trying to force anything to come and you focus on what you do know, which isn’t much at all. This, of course, prompts you to ask your next question. “Where am I? What happened to me?”
Seconds pass and the man says nothing. You’re sitting up a little better and Shane gets up, walking to the top of the bed. Leaning you up slightly as he fluffs the pillows at your back. You can’t help but stare at him with a brow raised as you wonder why he’s helping you and wait on some kind of an explanation as to what happened to you in the first place.
It almost seems as if he’s not going to answer, you’ve nearly given up on it, but Shane sits down beside you and after a few more seconds of staring at calloused hands, he answers quietly. “Yer safe, that’s all that matters. As far as what happened to ya, best I can tell is you were runnin from Walkers when I found ya. Covered in blood. Looked like ya got beat pretty damn bad too. You collapsed so I carried ya back here.”
The door to the room opens a little wider and a man with graying hair and a kind but tired and wrinkled face wanders in. You notice that he barely seems to look Shane’s way as he asks the question, “How long has she been awake, Walsh?”
“Couple minutes now. Think y’ can make her realize it ain’t a good idea, all the movin she’s doin?”
Rick gazes at Shane for a few seconds. It’s on the tip of his tongue to tell the man to get lost, get away from you but instead, he turns his attention to you and all your assorted injuries instead. Telling Shane to stay away isn’t going to do any good and deep down, Rick has a feeling that maybe Shane having something -or someone else other than only Judith, to focus on might just keep him from going too far down a dark and lonely path.
You are the one that got away, after all. He never got over losing you years ago and since he’s found you again and saved you from whatever dastardly plan Negan had in store for you he hasn’t left your side more than a handful of times.
Rick leaves the room and pulls the door closed behind him. Just like it used to be, the air is thick with tension and it’s enough to make him feel like he’s invading a very private moment between two people all over again. It was always like this between the two of you, he thinks to himself. Carl wanders over and nods to the door. “Did she wake up, Dad?”
“She did.”
“ You left Shane in there with her?” Carl questions the wisdom in his father’s decision. Rick shrugs as he nods. “Shane’s not gonna hurt her, son. Everybody else is questionable, but he’d never hurt her. Might even do him some good, finding her..” Rick goes quiet and he glances at the closed door. He was wary about leaving the room himself but the tension between you two was so damned thick that he couldn’t stay. ... not to mention your own past ties with her and that little green eyed monster that started to creep it’s way in when Shane brought her back a few nights ago... the thought comes but Rick shoves it out. You only ever really loved Shane. Shane was it for you like Lori, at one time, was it for him. ... now all that’s been shot to hell and she’s gone... the thought comes and it has Rick grimacing as the pain washes over him all over again.
Carl eyes his father warily and glances at the closed door before shrugging it off and making his way out into the ‘yard’ of the prison to tend the garden because it’s his turn to water and weed the vegetables planted.
Your vision clears just a little better and you find yourself looking at the dark haired man again. Swallowing hard when you do because everything about him still seems familiar and yet, you can’t put a finger on it. Memories you should be able to call up easily just aren’t coming.
Just random little bits that you feel aren’t connected, they can’t be.. Men shouting, laughing. A man with a barbed wire bat grabbing you up. The impending sense of doom. And lastly, darkness. None of it explains why you feel like you know the muscular,dark-haired man like the back of your hand. None of what you can recall even seems to even be about him and you’re frustrated with this.
“You seen that man you think had her holed up? The one y’ think might’ve hurt her?” Rick asks quietly when he walks back into the room to check on how things are going. For all he knows, Shane’s the instigator in the incident that occurred between himself and the man with the barb wire wrapped baseball bat. It’s not like it’s a stretch, Shane’s taken a dark turn since this whole thing started. Rick can’t help but feel that whatever happened the night Shane came back to the prison carrying you in his arms might well have been antagonized heavily by whatever course of action Shane chose to take.
“Naw, it’s like him n’ his group up and disappeared. Wish they would come back though. I’d fuckin kill him for whatever it is he’s done or was plannin to do.” Shane seems angry and tense as he says it and when he looks at you, the anger seems to fade out of his eyes just a little. They’re softer as they fix on you and he leans in a little, brushing hair out of your eyes.
“ We’ll keep an eye out.” Rick answers quietly before leaving the room again. He goes off to find Daryl and check the perimeter around the prison to make sure it’s secured.
You swallow hard, your eyes dart to thick and calloused fingers for just a second or two.
A name keeps repeating itself in your mind.
Negan.
“Who’s Negan?” you ask before you can stop yourself. Just mentioning the name calls forth more of the same random flashes of memory and thought. This deep seated fear comes right along with it.
Your question seems to have Shane tensing up all over again and he growls quietly. But when he answers you, you know what he says is a lie, or at very least a half-truth, because if he didn’t know something, he wouldn’t have had the reaction. “Some weird guy I ran into on a supply run. Nothin for y’ to worry yer pretty little head over, darlin.”
Shane’s right fist clenches when you ask about Negan because all he can see in his mind is the way Negan had you locked away in some room with all the other women. Kept calling you one of his ‘wives’. Guy said he treated all of the ‘wives’ decent - and insisted that he’d saved your life, and yet, your injuries came from somewhere. Guy also said that you didn’t know your own name and you didn’t talk, either.
“O-oh.” you answer before falling silent. The light overhead catches on something silver around your neck and you gingerly raise a hand, trailing your fingers over a delicate silver chain. You pull it from beneath the oversized khaki colored shirt you’re wearing and you gaze at it for a few seconds, lost in thought as bits come flooding back.
This time, those bits involve the man sitting right beside you.
Shane happens to glance over at you and as soon as he sees the way you’re staring at the locket around your neck, he knows to stay quiet. He knows that something is coming back to you.
He just hopes it’s enough to ease your mind. Make you realize that you’re safe and he’s not a threat -at least not to you, everyone else, they can go straight to hell as far as he’s concerned. He’s only stuck it out this long because of the child he possibly shares with Lori, his - or Rick’s,  infant daughter, Judith. There’s no way in hell he’s taking off and leaving her with this group -and Rick won’t allow him to take Judith and leave the group either because neither man is entirely sure who Judith’s father is and Rick doesn’t trust him as far as he can throw him these days,  despite the fact that at one point in time, he trusted Rick more than anything. Rick was a brother to him. As the thought surfaces, he attempts to shove it out because he knows he’s at fault for this no longer being the case and while he does feel guilt over it, he also knows that deep down, he’s right. They’re not going to survive if they don’t learn how to embrace the fact that dark and desperate times call for dark and desperate measures.
“S-shane?” your breath catches in your throat as you begin to remember exactly how well you know the man sitting right beside you. And deep down, you’re remembering that you’ve always regretted having to leave him behind years ago.
Shane clears his throat, nods but doesn’t say anything. “What’d you remember?” he finally asks after a long pause that feels as if it lasted hours.
“You gave me this locket. We were gonna run away together.. I couldn’t meet you in time.” you answer quietly as your past with Shane starts to piece itself together. You feel safer now, a little more at ease.
You can remember enough about yourself now to know who you are. And you were found by Shane and Shane Walsh would die before he allowed anything to happen to you, so you know you’re safe now.
It’s something you haven’t felt in a really, really long time. The thought creeps in and you take a shaky breath or two as you sit quietly beside him.
Shane’s the first one to speak up. “ I need to check your bandages, darlin. Make sure they’re still good n’ tight.” he mumbles after a few seconds. He turns slightly so that he’s facing you and he reaches out, thick fingers catch in the hem at the bottom of the khaki shirt you’re wearing.
It has to be one of his, you find yourself thinking, because it smells exactly like the cologne he always wore when you were his girlfriend back then. The scent is comforting as what remains of it fills your nose. The shirt is pulled away from your body and as soon as the bandages are revealed, you grimace.
“The doc said he thinks you got yourself a few bruised ribs.” Shane explains gently as his eyes settle on you. He feels the bandages to make sure they’re still secure around your upper body and for a few seconds, his hands linger on your curvy frame. Then he raises his hand and his fingers catch on the thin and delicate silver chain at your neck as he bites his lip and his eyes settle on you.
If these were different circumstances, he’d probably still be holding on to the emptiness and the hurt, the bitterness that came with showing up to your favorite spot to go and be alone together and finding out you’re not there. But that was years ago and now, with everything that’s gone to hell in a handbasket, it seems so small and insignificant somehow. His eyes settle on the heart shaped locket.
It took him an entire summer working to save up to get it.
“Shane?”
“Yeah?” he glances up at you when you say his name softly, lost in thought.
“I didn’t show because my dad, he.. Found out. And he packed me up, shipped me off to live with the grandparents. I wanted to leave with you, I swear I did.” you mumble the words quietly and as they start to trail away and die, you add in a whisper, “I never stopped loving you. I tried so hard, I just.. I couldn’t.”
And after all the years that have passed since that last night he saw you, he’s faced with one simple truth. After you left, he stopped looking. He got more into the here and now as opposed to the long-term. And he starts to realize that everything that went down between himself and Lori was nothing more than two lost people. Two lonely people.
Coming together to make the best out of their own individual bad situations.
“Darlin, I..” Shane starts to say it back but parts of him feel as if he doesn’t have the right to, after all, he’s not the same man. He’s older. He’s turned into someone he doesn’t really recognize anymore.
But at his core, he knows that he still loves you and he always will.
Life is too short. Life also isn’t fair.
But circumstance has brought you back into his and he’d be an idiot if he didn’t take the chance, the thought comes just as he fails a final time at pushing the words he’s dying to say to the back of his mind instead of allowing them to come out.
“What, Shane? What’s wrong, baby?” you ask the question quietly and it just sort of...breaks… him. He gazes at you for seconds that seem to stretch lazily into hours. And finally, he takes a shaky breath and leans in a little closer. “I ain’t the same guy. But I still love you too, darlin. You’re safe now, okay? I gotcha. I promise.”
It’s not much, but it’s the best he can promise because absolutely no one is promised tomorrow, let alone five seconds from now. It’ll have to be enough. He hopes against hope that it’s enough -that he’s enough, and he takes a few shaky breaths, waiting. Wondering what your reaction to what he’s just told you will be.
You grimace as you try to move yourself closer to him and he shakes his head, moving to squeeze himself into the bed beside you as best as he can given it’s lack of space. An arm slips around your shoulders and you lean your head against his.
“Everything’s gonna be alright.”
“ Yeah.” you manage to respond as you glance up at him. You know he’s not the same man, there’s just something different, something darker in his eyes that wasn’t there before and despite seeing it, you know one thing beyond all doubt. He still loves you and you still love him and now that you’ve finally found him again, you never want to leave.
Ever.

Abandonment issues and insecurities affect Shane more than he lets on. Fears of being left alone or neglected, fears of never being good enough, and fears of failure greatly impact his day-to-day life. It's ruined romantic relationships and jeopardized friendships. He hates himself for feeling such a way, but all the same, he has trouble breaking out of that mindset. It's a vicious cycle that claims him over and over and over again.

JUST LOOKING FOR A SHANE WALSH FOR THIS ONE! but if you want to write with Rick with someone else just message me!
The drive back to the camp was quiet, well it was quiet in the truck Rick was sitting in. Glenn was still enjoying the sports car they’d hijacked from the city and every once in a while a whoop of joy would accompany the alarm blaring whenever he took a corner partially fast.
Morales hadn’t said much about the camp, only that it was up near a quarry and his family would be worried about him getting back so much later. Andrea had mentioned Amy would be losing her mind but neither T-dog nor Jacqui mentioned anyone waiting for them, Rick didn’t ask.
His mind was elsewhere, under the horror and fear of the new world he had woken up in every second thought was of Carl. Particularly the morning before his accident and the fight he had with Lori, where she accused him of not caring about her and Carl. She said he was starting to pull away and spend too much time away from them, too much time with Shane. It seemed like such a small thing to be fighting about now, he stayed at work late with Shane and missed the first half of Carl’s little league game that weekend.
He knew she wasn't just upset he'd missed part of a baseball game, though, since he’d gone to most games. Maybe things had been busier with Shane and maybe Rick had thoughts from when they were much, much younger coming back to haunt him, but he'd never told Lori about any of those feelings.
Maybe he regretted that a bit now. Not that he'd ever wish to hurt Lori in any way, but the world had ended and Rick never even got the chance to be honest with Shane. Even if Shane would reject him, and probably never want to speak to him again, Rick is realizing he couldn't keep going on living like that.
Now Carl and Lori and Shane were god knows where. He had no leads and no possible way of finding them.
‘What if they had made it to the city and gotten overrun?’
‘What if they headed away from the city? Lori’s folks were in Kentucky, maybe they had headed that way.'
‘What if their bodies were trapped in one of the hundreds of cars piled outside the city?’
‘What if they got separated and somewhere his baby was hiding, scared and alone?’
Every possible scenario was running through Rick's head so fast it made his head spin.
Morales turned onto a dirt track at the base of the woods. The trees passed by quickly across the window as Rick's mind was once again filled with his loved ones. Lost in thought Rick didn’t realize they were getting close until the sirens from Glenn’s car cut off. Andrea stood shakily in the back as the truck pulled up and she opened the door and jumped straight out. Rick heard a shout of “Andrea!” and a cry that was quickly muffled as Andrea hugged whoever was calling out to her. T-dog and Jacqui exited after her, Morales looked over to Rick and patted his arm. “Come say hi to everyone”, He said gently before leaving. As soon as he passed around the truck, two voices cried out “Dad!”
Rick closed his eyes, the familiar word pulling at his heart. Would he ever be called dad again?
Lost in his grief he nearly missed Morales calling out, “Hey Helicopter boy, come meet everyone”.
Taking a deep breath, Rick opened the door and headed out to meet the camp. He saw Andrea with her arms around another blonde woman, T-dog and Jacqui with an older man, and Morales was smiling, surrounded by his family. His eyes skipped over to where Glenn was standing by the car next to…
Rick's breath hitched in his throat. Shane. He was alive. He was right there. He could tell the moment Shane recognized him, too, as the grip on the rifle he was holding slipped for a second and his eyes went wide. Rick wasn’t sure what his body was doing but as he went to take a step towards him, to embrace him, Shane’s eyes drifted over Rick's shoulder towards the group. Rick's gaze followed and then he felt like he’d been punched in the gut.
Lori was kneeling in front of a teary-eyed Carl. His face was twisted in a way that meant he was trying not to cry. Rick wanted to know why Carl was upset but his mind was racing too fast, his legs felt like jelly, there was no air in his lungs and it felt like every organ in his body had frozen at the sight of his family.
Before Rick could regain control of his body, Carl turned to him and their eyes met. There was a blank look on Carl’s face for a second, then he broke into the biggest smile Rick had ever seen and the sweetest sound he had ever heard erupted from Carl’s mouth “Dad, Dad, DAD!” Then Carl was running.
Rick stepped forward, once again able to use his legs, and subconsciously made sure his gun was secured away. Tears filled his eyes and ran down his cheeks, but he had no control over that. He was vaguely aware he was talking, words he had no control over spilling from his mouth and he knelt down and Carl barrelled into him.
Tumblr media
Rick felt his entire body go lax and he wrapped his son in his arms. He slipped for a moment bringing their bodies close to the ground but he had enough strength to stop them from hitting the gravel. Carl didn’t let go, just wrapped his arms around Rick's neck tighter. He could feel the damp patch his son's tears were making in his shirt. Carl’s little body shaking in his arms, Rick stood up shakily and placed a kiss on Carl’s head, and started walking toward Lori.
Lori's eyes were wide as she took a step toward him and wrapped her arms around him and Carl. Rick placed a kiss on her cheek and with his free arm gripped her waist tightly. She took a step back, stuttering trying to get words out, Carl was the first one to speak, lifting his head from his dad's shoulder and quietly asking, “Are you real Dad?”
Rick tried to chuckle, though it came out as more of a sob as he placed another kiss on his boy's head and smiled, “Yes baby, I’m here.”, Carl leaned his head forward until it rested against his dad's and the pair froze for a second together with Lori staring at them.
When he pulled back, he turned his head and searched for Shane frantically. When he spotted him, Rick couldn't help but smile and hold a hand out for him. "Come here. Give me a damn hug."

❜𝐓𝐢𝐥 𝐈 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐮❜𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary ➳ Daryl never liked it when the neighborhood cop Shane came around. You, oblivious to Shane’s attempts to flirt with you and don’t see the fuming Daryl.
(A/n) ➳ Inspired by “You” by Ari Abdul. Those who are waiting for the first chapter of JUDAS, it’s almost done. I’m just finishing the final touches before it’s uploaded. This is also very rushed, I’m sorry.
Word Count ➳ 900
Content Warnings ➳ Female reader, MODERN AU/NO OUTBREAK, DUB-CON, SHANE, jealous Daryl, sexual content, p-in-v, protected sex, phone sex, hair pulling, pet names (baby, darlin’), overstimulation, little dacryphilia…
Tumblr media
“Goddammit Daryl!” You clutched the sheets under you as Daryl pulled your head back by your hair. “S-Slow down!” You cried out.
Daryl seemed to ignore your plea, his eyes remained on your ass and how it jiggled by each hard thrust. He continuously slammed into your g-spot, doing so without mercy.
You had no idea what’s gotten into him, he was perfectly fine this morning…
But Daryl knew what was wrong, he was angry, maybe at you but most of his anger was focused on that shitty cop.
Shane Walsh.
Daryl never believed Shane’s bullshit excuses whenever he came around your neighborhood. It was like he knew when Daryl was around, he knew of his record and his brother’s which is why he always stood back and remained silent.
Daryl was out on your driveway working on your beat-up car. He used his arm to wipe away the layer of sweat on his forehead. You had brought out a glass of ice-cold water for him, you went back inside to retrieve a rag as he asked.
“Dixon!”
Daryl froze at that voice, he cursed Shane under his breath. He turned his head slightly, enough to get a view of Shane who exited his car and walked up to him.
“(Y/n) home?” He asked, his hands on his belt as a shit-eating grin was plastered on his face.
“Busy.” He grunted in response, going back to your car.
“Mind if check?” He took a couple of steps towards your door before Daryl stood in his way.
“I’ll get ‘er.” He didn’t bother taking a second glance at him because he knew Shane had won… Yet fucking again.
You had come down the stairs, a couple of rags in hand. “I didn’t think one would be enough-“
“Cop ‘ere.” He told you, taking the rags. “Lookin’ for ya.”
“Shane? Again?” You lifted an eyebrow and peered through your window to see Shane standing there, giving you a wave. “What’s he here for?”
“The hell should I know.”
You made your way outside, seeing Shane leaning up against his patrol car. “Hey, Shane, what brings you here?”
“Just checkin’ in, makin’ sure you’re alright. Y’know, keepin’ the neighborhood safe.” Shane’s eyes lingered down your neck, he fixed his posture, getting himself a better look at your cleavage.
“Well, everythin’ is fine here. Nothin’ to report.” You let out an awkward chuckle, fixing your shirt.
Back in the house, Daryl stayed by the window, jaw clenched as his hands formed into fists.
Shane leaned in, way too close for comfort. “You free tonight?”
“I- What?” It took you a couple of seconds before his words sunk in. “No, no. I’ll be here… with my boyfriend.”
“Boyfriend?” Shane mocked. “Hard to believe a redneck like Daryl Dixon could be your boyfriend.”
“You don’t know shit, Shane. Find some other woman to ask out.” You sighed, growing frustrated.
Shane pulled out his pen and notepad, writing something. “It’s only a matter of time before he disappoints you. Call me when he’s gone or you want somethin’ better.” Ripping the paper, took your hand, and pushed into it.
Shane Walsh had crossed a line…
Daryl remembered snatching the number out of your hands and nearly ran out of the house just to punch him. You dragged him back to the room just to get him to call him.
“D-Daryl!” You mewled, shutting your eyes as you felt your hot tears slip.
“That’s it, baby, say my name.” He growled. He didn’t stop, even when you tightened around his cock, another orgasm coming down on you.
He released his hold on your hair, letting your head fall onto the pillow. He picked up his phone and began to dial the number. He left it by your head and on speaker.
“C’mon baby, let ‘im hear you.” He turned you over onto your back and shoved a pillow under your hips, letting him go deeper inside of you.
It felt like you were screaming, you couldn’t focus anymore. Not on Daryl, not on the sound of the headboard slamming into the wall… It’s a surprise that nobody had called to complain.
“Keep ya eyes on me darlin’.” He said, his hands coming to your wrists to keep them from covering your face when you tried to. “Look at me.” He demanded.
You opened your eyes to meet his blue ones, he licked his lips as his eyes were clouded.
Your nails dug into your hands. “Daryl! Daryl! Daryl!” You chanted his name over and over again, your legs coming around his hips to pull him closer.
That’s when you felt the pit again. “Daryl-!”
“C’mon, cum ‘round my cock. Let ‘im know who’s makin’ you feel like this, scream like this.” Daryl let out one final grunt as he came.
Your eyes shut instinctively as your back arched from the bed. Everything became white noise as you were sure you screamed louder than you could, waves and ripples.
Daryl slummed over your body, too tired to push him off or say anything.
He picked up the phone and smirked when he saw the call’s duration, he could hear panting on the other side. He hung up the phone and tossed it across the room, hearing it hit something.
“Stay with me darlin’.” Daryl sneered at your fucked out face. “I ain’t gonna be done with ya for a long time.”

The Walking Dead x GN/NB!over stimulated!Reader
Tumblr media
This is a two parter! As of right now the second one isn't out!
Request : nope
Type : headcanon
A / N : My tip is always headphones!! I also only did the characters im comfortable with writing about as of right now! If you need more tips always feel free to ask <33
Tumblr media
Carl Grimes
He gets it
He also picks up on it really fast
If you're acting at all off he'll come up behind you and cover your ears to block out some of the noise
He likes it when you put your hands over his
If you look like your about to cry he'll take you away from the chaos and get you some place thats calm and you don't need to stress out anymore
He's probably picked up anything he thinks you can mess with while being over stimmed
One of those is definitely a stuffed animal
Carl definitely has had made excuses that embarrass himself just to help you get away
Tumblr media
Rick Grimes
He has experience with it due to his son
He's horrible at picking up on it though
Most of the time you have to go up to him and tell him you're over stimulated by everything going on and he'll try his best to help you
Most of the time he'll send you off with Carol or Tara cause he wants to help but he's busy
When you have to be some place with him he has something in his pockets for you to mess with to distract yourself
Rick just tries to make sure you know he does care
When he does have the time he'll take you somewhere you can rest and will stay with you
Unless he gets pulled to work again
He wants to prioritize you, really
He's just a busy man
Tumblr media
Daryl Dixon
He does not what he's doing
He just tries to ask you what you need
He picks up on it almost immediately
9 times out of 10 he goes and asks Carol or Rick what he should be doing
He probably just sends you to someone who knows what their doing unlike himself who is an idiot
He has a list of everything you've said / he's been told that helps
He keeps it on him at all times
He's pretty good about disappearing without anyone noticing so if he knows you need to be away from all the chaos he'll take you there
He won't exactly sit with you, he'll pace around instead
Like, he wants to be there for you, yes, and... He's not good with showing that
Tumblr media
Abraham Ford
He knows exactly what he's doing
He's probably sat you down to ask what he can do to help you because he really does want to help
He makes sure to have something in his pockets to give to you to fiddle with when you need a distraction
Big hands = covering your ears
He'll run the back of his hand along yours to let him know he knows and is trying to figure out what you need
He picks up on it a bit slower than most but he does
Sometimes he needs Glenn or Tara to point it out to him so he knows for sure
He will get you away without saying a word to anyone else
If anyone asks he'll say " None of your damn business " and walk off with you
If you start crying he'll cup your face in his hands and whipe your tears away with his thumbs
Tumblr media
Glenn Rhee
He's got this
He doesn't
He's trying though!
He picks up on it quickly though and lets anyone who he knows cat help you know
Abraham is his first option every time
He's probably the one to drag you away from a crowd and get you some place thats less stimulating then RUN for Abraham
He does want to help but he really doesn't know how
He's usually your second to last option so most of the time when you get to him you're already crying
He's good at comforting crying people
He'll get you some place safe and kiss your knuckles and use his sleeve to whipe yout tears
He's a sweetheart
He doesn't really understand whats going on but he wants to help none the less
He's probably asked you what happens and how you feel so he can imagine what you'd need
Tumblr media
Shane Walsh
Bold of you to assume this man knows jack shit
In all fairness he knows some from dealing with Carl for most of the boys life
He's been nominated most likely to send you to anyone but himself
When he does have to help he kinda pats your back and tries to dig through his pockets to find something for you to fiddle with
He kinda seems irritated with you when you bother him about it
Eye rolls every time
He'll cover your ears if you ask nicely
On rare occasions he'll take you somewhere less stimulating
He'll leave you there
Aside from being rude 24/7 he will try and help if he has to
He just doesn't like being helpful
Tumblr media
Negan
This man is so helpful
You still don't know why he's like that
Most of the time he picks up on it instantly and will try and help you best he can
He'll sit down with you in front of him facing him and he'll cover your hears, running this thumbs against anywhere they can reach
He likes it when you distract himself by playing with his hair
If you're lucky and you two are close enough he'll pull you into his lap
He'll get everyone to shut up and leave so you can be in a less stimulating environment
He's found and stolen a bunch of things you can mess with when you need too
He always focuses on your breathing, making sure its stable, always
He may act like an ass but he tries to tone it down
He knows how to help and will help anyway you want / need it
Tumblr media
Gabriel Stokes
He knows the basic amount of things
Probably asked Rick for help on what to do lets be honest
He didn't want to ask you directly to seem inconsiderate
He tries to avoid you to not make it all worse
It makes it worse
Someone had to tell him that avoiding you made you feel horrible and he felt bad
The amount of times he apologized was exhausting for you
Hr tries to help out a lot better now even if he has no clue really what he's doing
He'll give you something to fiddle with and help you take deep breaths before running to find someone who knows how to help you better
He has stated he wants to help but doesn't know how to nor does he want to be the main person you rely on
Note: This was not spell checked nor grammer checked! I apologize in advance for the mistakes

D.D. | Shane's Girl
Part Five | Masterlist | Buy me a coffee | Check out the playlist
Summary: Daryl Dixon knows he shouldn’t be thinking about you when he’s alone at night in his tent. Hell, he shouldn’t even be looking at you throughout the day. You’re not his. You’re Shane’s girl. But Daryl doesn’t like the way Shane treats you. And he certainly doesn’t like how you’re forced to play ‘loving girlfriend’ to a man with eyes for another woman at the camp.
Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Reader
Warnings: Shane Walsh sucks
Word Count: 1.2K
Author’s Note: Thanks for the continued love on this lil fic. I love them. The connection they are creating with one another is so sweet and I cannot wait to continue writing for these two idiots. Shane of course continues to be a dick and will only get worse. We're getting closer to the start of the show. I won't be retelling the entire series in this fic. Just snippets of their life together -- the show will fill in the gaps in a way. Anyway, let me know what you guys think of this one, if you want to be added to the taglist, or just want to ask me a question.

You don’t consider yourself a jealous girlfriend; however, as you watch Shane and Lori from across the camp, you cannot help the rage that begins to simmer in your chest. The feeling makes you nauseous. You adore Lori. She’s always been like an older sister to you -- the senior girl who took you under her wing during your freshman year of high school. So the problem isn’t Lori. No, it’s the way Shane is looking at Lori. His face practically lights up with affection and warmth as he listens to her -- a stark contrast to the Shane you’ve become accustomed to since the dead started walking.
“Hey, uhm. Is everything okay?”
Glenn’s soft voice cuts through your rising temper, startling you. You look up at him with wide eyes for a second, before attempting to pull yourself together. If anyone in camp knew the exact thoughts running through your head right now, you’d be humiliated. You take a deep breath before giving Glenn a polite smile.
“Of course. Why do you ask?”
Glenn shifts awkwardly on his feet. You haven’t really had a chance to get to know to know Glenn. You could probably count on one hand how many times the two of you have interacted since he joined the camp. For the first few weeks, you assumed he didn’t like you. However, Amy informed you that his avoidance is nothing personal -- it’s just that Shane terrifies him and you’re an extension of that fear. This seems to be a common problem for you around camp. People seem intimidated by you due to your proximity to the camp’s self-proclaimed leader. It’s infuriating and isolating.
“It’s just… those are my favorite pair of jeans.”
You look down at the wash basin in front of you. You’d been so distracted by your own thoughts, that you’d completely forgotten about the clothes you were washing. As your mind continued to race, your hands began moving on their own accord with just as much ferocity. Your face flushes as you stare at Glenn’s jeans that you damn near scrubbed a hole into.
“Sorry, Glenn. Just zoned out for a second.”
Glenn gives you a kind smile, seemingly content with your answer.
“Don’t worry about it. Happens to everyone.”
He shrugs nonchalantly before wandering off towards Dale. You let out a relieved sigh once he’s out of earshot. Deciding that Glenn’s clothing has been through enough torment today, you pull his garments out of the wash basin and move to pin them up on a clothesline. As you attach the last article of clothing, you hear footsteps approaching you from behind. Before you can turn around, you hear a familiar voice.
“I’m goin’ out to hunt, wanna come?”
You furrow your brow. Daryl has mentioned how much he enjoys hunting alone -- how relaxing it is. It makes sense. He’s a loner by nature, so the constant presence of people in camp must be overwhelming. You don’t want to intrude on his personal time. Before you can ask him if he’s sure, you notice his eyes shift from you over to Shane and Lori.
Oh.
You might have been able to fool Glenn, but you can’t fool Daryl. He knows exactly what has you so riled up. You’re embarrassed that the younger Dixon has seen through your ruse. The last thing that you want is Daryl thinking less of you because of your envy. You want to explain yourself -- let him know that you’re not just some jealous girlfriend -- but the words get stuck in your throat, so you nod wordlessly at his offer and allow him to lead you into the surrounding woods.
Daryl likes the quiet -- he usually finds comfort in it, but your unusual silence, while you both move through the forest, is unbearable. You’re the conversationalist. You’re the one who retells stories about your time in King County with Shane and the Grimes family, recites all the gossip you learned from Andrea and Amy throughout the day, and complains about whatever crappy meal the group was able to put together that evening. And he likes that about you. You ask him the occasional question about Merle or hunting, but you never pry. You’re the one that talks and he’s the one that listens -- simple as that.
But right now you don’t feel like talking and it’s making him anxious. He knows he should say something, but what? Sorry your boyfriend is such a jackass? He shakes his head at the thought. Real, smooth Dixon. This is uncharted territory for him. No one ever taught him how to comfort.
A rustling in the woods saves him from his attempts at starting a conversation. Daryl puts his arm out to stop you from walking in front of him, before aiming his crossbow toward the noise. He slowly moves forward and you follow his lead, knife in hand. Eventually, a walker comes into view from behind the trees. Daryl waits for a clear shot and pulls the trigger. You let out a sigh of relief as you watch the arrow sink into the walker’s skull.
“Nice shot.”
Your voice breaks through the silence for the first time and he’s glad to hear it. He wanders over to the walker and retrieves his crossbow bolt. He wipes the tip of it off on his jeans, before looking back at you.
“You ‘lright?”
You chew on the inside of your cheek as you think about his question -- you know he’s not asking about the walker.
“I’m just worried.”
Daryl furrows his brow at your response. He doesn’t ask why, instead, he silently shifts from one foot to the other, allowing you to continue if you so choose.
“I feel like you’re the only person in this camp who sees me as a person and not just Shane’s girl -- I just don’t want that to change.”
Daryl shakes his head at the thought. He’s seen you do more for this camp in one day, than Shane’s ever done. It’s stupid really, how everyone treats you. And he knows that you have more to give than cleaning laundry and preparing meals. You don’t have to prove yourself to him -- the two of you are far past that. You’ve already earned his respect -- something Shane has yet to accomplish.
“You ain’t gotta worry ‘bout that.”
You nod at his words, but Daryl can tell that they did little to reassure you.
“I feel the same way.”
Your brows knit together in confusion over Daryl’s words.
“You’re the only person who doesn’t see me as Merle.”
His tone is sincere -- you know he genuinely means what he is saying. You wonder how many people have met the Dixon brothers and simply wrote Daryl off due to the brashness of his older brother. You watch as he awkwardly shifts from one foot to the other, obviously uncomfortable with the vulnerability in his words.
“Yeah, you’re definitely not Merle.”
This causes Daryl to laugh -- actually laugh. The sound is surprising at first -- more boyish than the usual gruffness you're used to in his voice, but it’s nice. And it makes you smile brightly, knowing you’re the reason for his laughter.
“C’mon, we should head back.”
You allow him to take the lead again, navigating through the woods once more. He might not have caught any squirrel, but the two of you are not coming back to camp empty-handed. A newfound understanding washes over the both of you, bonding you to one another.

Hi! So I have a newer idea for Daryl that popped up in my mind while shopping today. It's 100% okay if you don't want to write this, though! It is kind of long so I completely understand if you don't feel like writing this 💜
Basically, Daryl meets reader, aka Shane's fiancé, at the quarry and could instantly notice how toxic Shane was to her. She wasn't allowed to really talk to any of the guys in the camp and was forced to do most of the laundry to keep her from interacting with the rest of the group. However, one day while Shane's off doing you-know-what with Lori, Dale sends reader to go hunt with Daryl with a compound bow that he'd found. To Daryl's surprise, she's amazing at hunting and they have a little convo about Shane. They then stumble across Shane and Lori going at it like rabbits but silently retreat, not making a scene. Back at the camp, when Shane returns, reader simply just places the ring back in his hand and tells him they're over. Being free to do what she wants, she starts getting closer with Daryl over the next month or so, and when they get to the CDC, her and Daryl have this cute moment with a few people watching them and then Glenn, in his drunken stupor, makes a comment about what a cute couple they are. Cue the sudden realizations from both sides that they like each other. Can end with a confession or not. <33
a/n – first of all, to everyone who reads this: you better check Krys out! I am absolutely IN LOVE with everything she writes (Daryl and Hazel is my favourite but literally everything is a masterpiece!) second: to get a request from one of my favourite authors on this app here is an ABSOLUTE HONOUR and I truly truly hope that I could somehow reach your expectations!!!! Thank you so much for sending me it, and I really hope you and everyone that reads this enjoys it ˙ᵕ˙ thank you for marking my start in writing for Daryl now too!😊
A little side note: surprise, I still can’t write short stuff, but bc tumblr is a bitch and is messing with long stuff I post, I decided to make 2 parts, so I can truly involve everything I planned, I hope that’s okay!!🤍🤍

Don‘t Talk To Strangers Or You Might Fall In Love – Pt. 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later in the evening, the women gathered down at the quarry once again. With each holding onto a basket of some sort, carrying the laundry of the rest of the camp residents, they had found their usual spot by the water. Their hands were already starting to get wrinkly by the amount of clothes they had to wash - it had only been a couple of days, and there was already a pile of it.
A wince from the oldest woman of the group made all three heads snap towards her, their eye following her carefully.
"Everything okay?" Jacqui asked, stopping mid-movement before she set down the soaked t-shirt she was holding.
Carol was quick to brush off her concerned tone, sending the woman a quick tight smile as she re-adjusted her position on the ground.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," she cleared her throat. "Just... a stone."
The other women shared a quick knowing look. Yes, the surface they were sitting on was mostly stone, but not enough to get hurt or even wince the way Carol just did. She must've hit one of her bruises against the hard ground. One of the many that decorated her skin. While some of them she had clearly been able to hide underneath her clothing, the women couldn't help but notice the ones on her arms. And while some seem to fade, it didn't take much longer for new ones to appear just a day later.
"You know," Amy jumped into the conversation. "You... you don't have to share a tent with him." Everybody immediately knowing, who she meant. "You could stay in the RV, or-"
"I'm okay, Amy. Please." Carol's tone made the younger woman stop again, going right back to the task at hand. While you had hoped you'd go back to finish off your work in silence, Jaqui had other plans as she raised the volume of her voice to reach you, who was sitting a little further off.
"Well, speaking of shitty husbands." Getting a scoff out of the older woman. "Where's Shane, Y/N?" A chuckle erupted from Amy.
"Huh?" Your head shot up at the mention of his name. You found three awaiting pairs of eyes fixed on you, sending an uncomfortable rush down your spine.
"Where's your husband?" Amy repeated the question, her voice holding a slightly more gentle tone.
"He's not my husband. Just... fiancé." You shrugged. "I don't know...," mumbling as you were almost too embarrassed to admit. "He said something about going hunting."
Jacqui let out an annoyed huff of air. "That was hours ago. It's getting dark soon, doesn't he think-"
"I trust him to know how to keep himself safe. He knows what he's doing," you told her mindlessly, pouring the now dirty water back into the river in front of you.
You knew how most of the group felt about Shane. He had declared himself as the leader of your little group, thinking his status as a sheriff made him the right fit despite some of the eye-rolls and annoyed sighs it had gotten from the rest in return. It didn't seem to bother him, not even a little bit. You had tried to defend him, wanting to explain his plan of action and knowledge to the others, but he had shushed you down quickly. His own stance was enough for him to stand in front of the group of people, promising to lead them well and try to figure out how to move forward in the, what you'd now call, apocalypse.
While he was securing his place as the tough leader, commanding each person around and giving them a set role in the group, you had tried to find a sense of community. If you were to go and travel further with these people, might as well try to create some form of comradery. But that was brought to a halt before you could even truly start. By Shane.
'They're not your friends. They're just random people. We don't know them and we don't gotta know them.' He had told you. You had tried to start an argument, wanting to explain that while you didn't know most of them just yet, you might as well start now if you're going to spend more time in an enclosed area with them.
'Let's keep an eye out for Lori and Carl. She just lost her husband, for God's sake.' He never really explained just how he knew that Rick was officially dead, but the two members of the Grimes family seemed to be his only concern. The fact that you had known Glenn for a while now and considered him a close friend, almost a younger brother, didn't even register with him. He was just 'another dirty man, just like the rest of them' to Shane. He had made his opinion of the members of your group very clear. They're strangers. If it wasn't about Lori and Carl, it wasn't important. Why you were the one washing their clothes though was still beyond you though.
Jacqui was just about to open her mouth again, not wanting to drop the topic of conversation just yet, but a loud voice from up the quarry got your attention.
"Ya just don't give a shit, ya old bastard!" Daryl's uncanny accent echoed through the open area.
While a deep sigh tumbled from Carol's lips, Amy tried to ignore the fight a few feet away from you and Jacqui shook her head.
"These Dixon brothers, I swear to God... I don't understand why we haven't made them leave yet."
"Daryl's a good hunter," Amy commented quietly with a slight shrug.
"Yeah, and selfish," the older woman spat back, "And Merle? He's nothing but dragging everyone here down."
You decided to leave the scene in silence, not wanting to add anything to the conversation. You believed that everyone had a good reason for acting and behaving the way they were. You'd like to think that your good nature was part of the reason why Shane fell in love with you. Your years of dealing with children coming from troubled families had taught you that there's mostly good in almost everyone, just that most hadn't had the chance to find that side of them yet. In some ways, the Dixon brothers' attitudes reminded you of them.
Back in the camp, you brought the washing bowl back to where the rest of the clean laundry was already hanging to dry. Before you could go any further, hoping to find some alone time in your tent, Dale's voice made you stop.
"Y/N!"
You looked up at the top of his RV, where he had secured a chair, a small table and an umbrella to keep the sun from frying his skin.
"Hey, Dale," you smiled at the older man, who copied your facial expression. While some had come to find him to be a 'typical grumpy old man' - and by some you mean Shane - you and Dale had gotten closer over the short time you had spent in the group. He reminded you of your dad, who at that point in time was God knows where. You hoped he found a group similar to yours and was trying to find his place in the world you would now be living in.
"You know how to use a bow and arrow, right?" He asked you, remembering the story you had told him.
You nodded, shielding your eyes with one hand as the sun was starting to make them hurt. "My dad taught me a little, why?"
"Look what I found," he grinned before turning around to pick something up. He crouched down, now with a compound bow in his grip as he tried to get it down to you. With quick steps, you got closer, your eyes brightening up at the sight.
"Oh my god... Dale!" Your smile only widened once you got your hands on the bow. You let your hand glide over the metal, finding it to be heavier than expected. It was still in perfect condition, but you couldn't even finish admiring it before your eyes found another item being dropped down at you.
"Those were next to it," Dale added as he handed you a bag holding multiple arrows that were hopefully supposed to go with the bow. He watched your smile as you couldn't take your eyes off the archery tool. "You think you know how to handle that thing?"
"I mean... my dad taught me how to use a longbow, but... can't be that hard, right?"
The older man couldn't even answer you as a scoff erupted from behind you, followed by the familiar scruff voice of Darly.
"Ya think it's that easy." Stating it more than wondering. Knowing not to start a conversation with him unless truly needed, only able to imagine how Shane would react if he found you talking to him, you decided to ignore his comment, focusing back on Dale who seemed to have done the same.
"Where did you find it?" You asked him.
"Oh just... from a house a few minutes away. Thought you could use it."
"I don't know when yet, but... I'll try," you smiled at him.
"How about you go and try it out now?" He suddenly asked you.
His question made your head shoot back up to look at him in wonder. "Now? What do you mean?"
He sighed. "It's gonna get dark soon and Shane and Lori aren't back yet, we should try-"
"Lori?" Her name fell from your lips as you glanced around the area, only finding the youngest Grimes sitting in the grass, entertaining himself with some sticks and stones. "Where is she?"
Dale shrugged. "Said something about finding berries and whatnot-" Another scoff from behind you made him stop to shoot Daryl an annoyed glance. "I think we should try to at least get something to eat for the kids. And if they're not back anytime soon, they won't have dinner."
"What? My huntin' skills ain't enough for you, old man?" The younger Dixon brother shot up from his crouched position on the floor, nudging his head up at Dale, who was clearly annoyed by his attitude.
"A squirrel isn't gonna feed an entire group. Take Y/N with you and try finding something."
"Dale-"
"Shane's not here, honey," he immediately stopped you, apparently already knowing what your argument would be. "I think he'll be okay, knowing you were out finding something to eat for the kids."
"That asshole would rather watch 'em kids die than send her huntin' with any of us!" Daryl spat back, ignoring you standing right next to him.
He turned your head towards him. "Don't talk about him like that." Speaking to him in a much softer tone than he just did, only getting a shake of his head and an annoyed mumble in return before he turned his back towards you, making his way towards the woods. A quick glance back up at Dale made him nudge his head towards the direction the archer had just disappeared into. You could either get sulky and refuse to go with the man who had clearly other interests than to go hunting with you or you could be the bigger person and focus on bringing something into the community. Even if that meant rebelling against your partner's order to stay at the camp and focusing on the laundry in the quarry. You decided on the latter, knowing that he'd find something to get annoyed at one way or another.
With a sigh, you nodded to Dale's proposal and swung the bag of arrows over your shoulder. Turning around to follow the way Daryl had just strutted, your eyes found his silhouette already between the trees. It was uncanny. Anyone could tell it was him. His zero-fucks attitude and his arms just casually hanging by his side- The pop of his hips with each step he took just underlined the sass that man possessed almost making you chuckle.
Unlike a lot of the other members of the group, you didn't necessarily dislike him. His brother was a totally different subject. They were difficult to deal with and most definitely not the teamwork type of personalities - not directly at least. You had noticed the multiple times Daryl would vanish from sight, only to come back a few hours later with a few dead squirrely thrown over his shoulder, that he would then give to the group after skinning them. It was absolutely disgusting, to say the least, but he did his part to be a valuable part of the community, even if he might had been a unique character and more challenging to deal with.
What Merle's issue was, you had yet to discover, but the man didn't intrigue you enough to bore into his background story.
A good few minutes in, you still hadn't caught up with the archer, his steps being way bigger and faster than yours. Panting, you hoped he would hear you.
"Can you slow down for a second? Please."
Not following your words, Daryl kept up his pace, only turning his head slightly. "Don't need yer husband to see us together out'ere or we'll be the ones rotatin' over the fire instead of a dear."
You couldn't help but roll your eyes at his comment, even scoffing loudly at what you had just heard, and mumbling too quietly for him to hear.
Your reaction made him suddenly stop in his tracks and turn his entire body towards you. "What? Ya think I'm kiddin'? I seen the way he talks to ya and everyone else in that godforsaken camp. Treats everyone like shit if it ain' abou' that woman or the kid."
Your glare didn't even intimidate him a bit. Neither did he budge when you took a daring step closer to him.
"How about you focus on yourself and stay out of other people's business? He's trying to be a leader, alright?"
"More like tryna be a dictator. Mussolini woulda loved him." Without another word, he turned around to continue his way further into the woods, leaving you in slight surprise rooted into the ground. A shake of your head and a deep breath brought you back into the present, making you follow him again. You tried to keep the distance between big enough to keep him away from you, let close enough to still have him in view - you sure as hell weren't going to get lost in the middle of the woods.
Looking down to be careful about each step you took, you held onto the strap across your chest. With your view on the ground, you didn't notice Daryl having stopped again, making you suddenly bump into him.
"Oh- sorry." You took a quick jump back.
He had lifted up his arm to the side, keeping you from going any further. Only after looking up, you could follow his gaze, finding what had gotten the archer so enthralled. Between the bushes surrounding you ahead on a tree, there were two chipmunks perked up on a branch. They hadn't noticed you yet and if it hadn't been for Daryl's eagle eye, you had to admit, you would've overlooked them as well.
Suddenly, overly confident, you realised this was the moment you could prove your skill. A skill you hadn't trained for in a few months, but you had long enough training before that, you believed. Swiftly, you grabbed a bow from the bag on your back and took a slow step back, careful not to make any loud noise to disrupt the two animals. Daryl had his crossbow already sitting on his shoulder, his eye trained on the chipmunks as he kept totally still.
"On three," you whispered as you drew the bow in your grip. You couldn't see the archer's slight confusion as he didn't budge, only knowing he had heard you when he suddenly started counting down. As soon as the number 'three' left his lips, you let your arrow shoot through the sky, him going at the exact same time, pressing the trigger on his crossbow. The two bows hit the chipmunks perfectly in sync, making them fall from the branch and onto the floor.
"Yes!" You whispered to yourself in a cheer, brushing past Daryl with a wide smile on your face as you made your way over to where your prey was waiting for you.
The man continued to stand still, only his eyes following your movements as his eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. Only a few seconds later, he found you standing up straight again, proudly holding up one of the chipmunks. He followed your steps, coming to a stop as he looked down at the other animal still on the floor.
"Was that beginner's luck or...?" He asked you as he gathered it off the ground and took out his arrow before taking its companion out of your hands to put both of them into the small bag he had secured by his hips. Your eyes drifted to his arms. Glistening in the sun behind you. He had been collecting dirt all over his body, but the sweat now on his biceps was making it look only half as bad.
You shrugged, not even trying to hide the small smile still on your lips. "Maybe a little since I haven't used one of these in a while," holding up the compound bow.
"Who taught ya?" In surprise, you glanced at him, not expecting to continue the conversation as you went back to resume your hunting journey through the woods.
"My dad."
You noticed his steps suddenly slowing down again, making you turn towards him in wonder. A finger brought up to his lips told you everything you needed to know. Daryl started looking around carefully, while you just turned in a circle, wondering what he had heard. And then you saw it. A 'geek', as Glenn had labelled them, was making its way towards you.
"How on earth did you hear that?" You whispered at him, but the archer just propped his crossbow up again, ready to take out the thing coming dangerously close towards you. The noises coming from the dead had only then started to register with you too. Maybe it was your hearing turning on you or maybe Daryl had just a trained ear. Realising that he was close to shooting again, you stopped him with a hand.
"Can I?"
With a careful look, he lowered his weapon again, motioning for you to go ahead, bringing a small grin to your face. His hand was quicker than yours as he pulled out a bow from your bag, handing it over to you before leaving you to do your thing. Drawing it tightly, you didn't let a lot more seconds pass before sending the arrow straight through the geek's eye.
"Fuck, yeah-" Grinning to yourself for a split second before you realised the words that had dropped from your tongue. "Sorry," you were quick to apologise, getting a look of pure confusion from Daryl in return.
"What? Ya not allowed to curse or somethin'?" Oh, if he only knew. After years of being with Shane, you had found yourself truly swearing off the usage of any curse words as your fiancé had labelled them 'unladylike', sending you a look of disapproval each time it would escape you accidentally. Strict looks had turned into warnings, which then turned into arguments, so you had just learned to bite your tongue.
You were about to head up to get it back, back Daryl's voice stopped you.
"Stay'ere." He walked past you towards the now truly dead thing to get your arrow back. After ripping it out of its head again, he took a good look around, turning his entire body before coming back to you.
"They're usually not alone," he pushed the arrow into your hands. "Let's see what else we can find and get the hell outta 'ere before it gets dark."
You just nodded in agreement before following him again. This time, you noticed walking side by side with him as he had slowed down his strides.
To you, it seemed like a relatively comfortable silence, but Daryl didn't agree with that apparently as his grunt slashed through it,
"Yer husband know you can hunt?"
A sigh evidently fell from your lips, but you were able to hold back a roll of your eyes. He was trying to keep up the conversation and you couldn't not admit that you quite enjoyed not necessarily having to walk in complete silence. Even if it meant talking about Shane apparently.
"Don't know," you shrugged.
"What d'ya mean, ya don't know? Yer never talked about that? Ain't he supposed to know ya inside out or some shit like that?" You knew, deep down his words held nothing but truth, yet, you had learned to ignore remarks like that, knowing that Shane was just a different kind of partner than most.
"Why should he know about something he's not interested in?" As long as you weren't out on your own and at home in the evening with a homecooked meal waiting for him, he had never truly cared about what you did. Lying, you'd be out with your friends for a few hours while doing something completely different had gotten you far. Him working late hours most days only helped. You never even thought about telling him about the childhood hobby you had started at 8 years old and had carried with you up until well into adulthood. While you had left home as soon as you had turned 18, knowing Atlanta was the place you'd want to study in, archery was one of the things that had kept you connected to home. To your dad.
"That don't sound righ' if ya ask me," he commented.
"Well," you couldn't help but sigh again, "good thing he's not your issue to worry about."
"But he is." His comment made you stop. Daryl was quick to notice you not walking beside him anymore, making him stop and turn. "I gotta worry about him havin' my balls on a stick if he sees me talkin' to ya."
"Then don't!"
"Then why d'ya follow me into the woods, huh?" It looked like you were about to start a fight with Daryl Dixon.
"Because Dale asked me to. Because no one trusts you to do anything good for the group on your own," you spat at him, continuing your way, making sure to bump his shoulder as you passed him.
The archer scoffed, "Yeah because everyone trusts ya lil' husband oh so much to care for every-"
You came to another halt. "He's not my husband! We're engaged, you ignorant fuck!"
"Oh, careful," Daryl eyed you, "What would'e say if he heard ya talkin' like that, huh?" Sending you a provocative look that made you take a deep breath in, trying to contain your anger.
"I think you got a brother to worry about, Dixon. Enough drama there, don't snoop into other people's lives."
That seemed to have done the job as he kept quiet while you walked ahead. It took a few seconds before you heard him behind you again, proud of yourself for leaving him stunned even if it was just for a short moment. You didn't want to snap at him like that, you had to admit. It just came out and if you could take it back, you would've. He wasn't directly snooping, you knew that. You weren't here to make enemies, at least you didn't want to. You desperately wanted to get along with everyone as best as possible. Not meaning that you'd have to become close friends with each person in the group, just good colleagues.
With your mind deep in thought, overthinking every word you had just dropped, you didn't notice the ruffling leaves close by. Not until you felt a tug on your arm that made you stop. Almost annoyed, you turned around, only to find Daryl lifting his finger to his lips, telling you to keep quiet. At first, you looked at him in confusion but the moment you heard a grunt, your ears perked up as you started to glance around. You had just ran into a geek with the Dixon brother reminding you that they usually travelled in bigger groups, meaning the possibility of another one being close by wasn't that small.
The grunting continued making your frown only deepen. It didn't necessarily sound like one of the dead, you realised. Daryl started moving around slowly and as quietly as possible, you following close behind, keeping ducked down just in case.
Suddenly, you caught another noise. One that sounded less like a grunt and more like a... moan? Clearly just as confused as you, the archer turned around to meet your gaze for a split second.
With each step the two of you took further, the noises became much clearer. Shuffling leaves, grunts, and clear moans were now hitting your ear. One specific huff of air made a cold shiver run down your spine. It's like your body knew before your eyes could even see it.
Daryl and you hit a raised ground that kept you from seeing where the noise was coming from as you were still crouched down. But as soon as you let your back straighten, every last bit of air left your lungs. You saw the auburn hair spread out on the grass first. Directly next to it, an all too familiar head of black curls, the face deep in her neck, muting the moans coming from him. With each pound, they became heavier and louder. You already knew it. Right as Shane lifted his head though, you could feel yourself wanting to scream. And if it wasn't for the hand suddenly covering your mouth, you would've.
You were pulled onto the ground, back into your crouched position, and dragged back from where you came from. As hard as you tried to fight the grip the archer had on you, it was no use as he was clearly much stronger than you. The leaves and branches brushed against your pants as he kept tugging on you to keep you right up against him, not daring to loosen the hand covering your lip
Once it seemed far away enough for him, Daryl let go of you, letting you fall to the ground completely as you desperately choked up for air.
"You bastard-" You went at him, only for him to cover your mouth once again.
He pulled you in hard. "Ya screamin' 'ere and an entire hoard will hear ya. Keep quiet," he hissed at you in a whisper. You never noticed the soft specks of green that decorated his striking blue eyes. Not until then.
A quick moment of silence followed as your eyes suddenly filled with tears. Daryl's gaze softened immediately, removing his hand from you as if your skin had turned into burning hot metal.
While you had started to sob in the middle of the woods, trying to keep as quiet as possible, the archer didn't know what else to do, but to stand next to you, his eyes fixed on your shaking shoulders. He wasn't the right person to console someone. Nor did he even know how.
"I told ya he's an asshole," he mumbled, clearly not at the right moment as you sent him an angry frown.
"You didn't tell me sh-"
"I tried tellin' ya!" Raising his voice just a bit to turn his tone stern, yet keeping the volume low enough. "I told ya he ain't interested in anyone but that woman and her son."
"I want to go back," you sniffled, feeling your chest painfully tightening.
"Go back to 'em?!"
"Back to the camp, idiot!" You snapped at him, your hand flying up to your chest. "I feel like I'm gonna throw up." Trying to take deep breaths in that just continuously proved to be hard as you only choked up more. Coughing mixed with your sobs, you fell onto your knees, your hand clutching the very top of your chest as you tried to breathe.
"Hey-" Daryl fell onto the ground right in front of you, his rough hands grabbing you by your shoulders to pull you straight, trying to get you to look at him. "Calm down," he strictly told you.
"H-He-" you sobbed, "he... fucked her. He just-", coughing again as the air got stuck in your throat.
"I know- hey-" you lowered your head to look at the ground beneath you, only for Darly to grab your chin and make you look back up again. "He's a fuckin' idiot. Don't cry 'bout him."
"W-What did I do?" You asked, technically hypothetically, as you continued to choke on your own cries. "What do- How?!"
"Ya didn't do anythin'," he tried to console you. "He's a dumb fuckin' bastard. A coward. A stupid mongo-"
"Lori... I-I thought-," stopping yourself again as another sob shot through your body.
"It's okay," Daryl whispered, "don't fuckin' cry for 'em. Ya think they would cry for ya?"
"What about Carl?!" You ignored his comment, instead continuing to throw out whatever came to your head.
The archer shook his head, "That ain' your problem to worry 'bout."
"She- she just lost her husband... a-and now this?!"
Before Daryl could say anything, you brushed off his hands from your shoulders and raked yourself up.
Still sniffling, you looked around. "We gotta go back." Noticing that the sun had already started to set and no one was supposed to be out in the dark.
With a grunt, he copied you, pushing himself up to stand again while his eyes continued to follow you as you tried to get yourself back together. You could feel his gaze burning holes into your skin, making you look up. Cheeks tears stained, burning read. Your eyes were swollen, still letting single drops of tears escape as you slowly managed to even out your breathing.
"Let's go back." You re-secured the bag and bog on your shoulder before turning around to walk to the camp. A sigh escaped Daryl's lips as he shook his head slightly before jogging up towards you, stopping you with his hands back on your shoulders. He swiftly turned you around, only to let go again, his steps slowing down to let you walk ahead. This time, in the right direction.
The way back was spent mostly in silence, only a few remarks coming from the archer each time he had to tell you to either turn right or left. In no time, you had come back, finding most of the group either already back in their tents or gathered by the SUV. The sun had fully set, now the only source of natural light coming from the soft glow of the moon.
"There you are!" Dale called out as soon as his eyes found you. The smile that had started to spread on his lips fell quickly as soon as you got close enough to him to let him see the dishevelled state you were in. "What happened?" He gasped, but you just shook your head and made a quick B-turn towards your tent. The tent you shared with Shane.
The older man's tone changed quickly, clearly blaming one specific person for your mood as he followed behind you not much later.
"What the hell did you do to her?" Dale snapped at Daryl, only to get a scoff in return.
"How abou' you ask her asshole fiancé." The Dixon brother left him with that, ignoring the looks of the people around them. He opened his satch to take out the two chipmunks you had caught, only to throw them onto a set-up table and disappear down towards the quarry.
In the comfort of the plastic walls, with the bow and arrows set down outside, you had let yourself let go one more time, the tears not needing more than mere seconds before running down your cheeks again. You couldn't continue crying about this.
'Ya think they would cry for ya?'
Daryl's words rang through your mind. You hated to admit that he was most probably right.
Your relationship with Shane wasn't tense. At least until a few months ago. It had always been a little bit more difficult than you would've liked to, but you remembered the words of your mother, saying 'marriage is hard', making you realise that most likely each couple had their fair share of issues to work through. And you and Shane seemed to just have a good amount of those. Either disagreements, discussions, or different ideas and wants. Everything from as simple as the colour of your living room walls, to which state you'd have your wedding in - since your grandma was almost bedridden, you had proposed to have at least the officiant ceremony in Ohio, but Shane was, surprise, against that.
You glanced down at your ring. A gold band, holding a small square diamond right in the middle. It was beautiful. Even though you had always solely worn silver jewellery and had mentioned the classic round diamond as your dream style. Still, you had accepted the proposal. You looked past the smirks he would send waitresses and secretaries. Ignored comments he made about other people in your life. You had even given in and promised him not to get too close to anyone in the group that was right outside.
It was never 'controlling' in your eyes. You didn't know any better. But while you had to lock yourself away, making doing laundry your only form of 'entertainment', he was having fun with a presumed widow. Whereas he had told you and everyone else that he would be spending the day trying to hunt down 'something big'.
You shook your head. You had all the reasons to leave him already months ago and yet you didn't. A lot of your friends had told you you'd regret marrying him. But he had managed to get into your head, making you think that they were the crazy ones. That all of your 'dumb sorority girlfriends' had no idea what they were talking about.
Comments and stares were one thing you could look past, but cheating... you had to draw the line somewhere. You remembered all the times your college friends came crying into the dorm, sobbing into their pillows as they complained about their boyfriends fucking around with other girls on campus. Everyone would gather and support them with one opinion: dump him. Leave him. He doesn't deserve you.
'I told ya he ain't interested in anyone but that woman and her son.'
There was Daryl's voice again in the back of your head. Screaming at you. If even he could see it, yet you were too blind to realise it...
With one final deep breath in, you gathered the sleeping bag you had claimed for yourself into your arms, along with your pillow. You managed to drag everything out of the tent, suddenly feeling more free than ever.
Looking around, you found no one sitting outside anymore, indicating most had gone to bed, but the light inside the RV made you hopeful. You couldn't sleep in your shared tent tonight. Or ever again. And Dale was your only other choice. With everything packed in your arms, you made your way over to the vehicle, knocking on the door with your foot. Two voices made you look behind you, your face immediately falling when you found Shane and Lori coming back from the woods. They took their goddamn time.
The door opened, catching your attention again. Dale looked at you in confusion but before he could say anything, you beat him to it.
"Can I sleep here tonight?"
Forget about your age. Suddenly, you felt like a little kid again. Too scared to sleep on their own, begging their parents to let them sleep in their room.
"Y/N?" Shane's rough voice called out your name, making your heartbeat quicken.
You looked up at the older man in panic. "Please."
With no hesitation, Dale nodded, stepping aside to let you walk in, ushering you inside with his hand. Daryl's remark from earlier had engraved itself in his brain as soon as he found the sheriff strutting over to his RV in big steps.
"What is she doing, Dale?" He wondered, his voice holding slight anger to it. "Y/N!" He shouted out your name again, but you gave him no response.
The older man stopped Shane from coming any closer.
"You better leave, son."
"What the fuck did I do?!" He unknowingly asked before getting the RV's door closed in his face.
The moment silence took over the enclosed room, Dale turned to you, now sitting on the small sofa.
"What the fuck did he do?"
If there was one person in this apocalyptic world that you had come to trust, it was Dale. He had already let you into his home, he deserved to get a reason for it.
You could already feel the tears filling your eyes again. Both of you ignored the knocks on the door, the old man's eyes fixed solely on you as he sat down by the small dining table, ready to wait patiently for you to answer his question.
"He... he cheated on me...," You couldn't hold back the sob that followed. "With Lori." The added remark made Dale's eyebrows shoot up in surprise. He leaned back into his chair, taking off his hat to run a hand through his hair as he huffed out a chunk of air.
"Daryl and I- we saw them in the woods-," You let your head fall into the palms of your hand. The old man was quick back on his feet, on his way over to you.
"Oh, honey," sighing out, but stopping as the heavy knocks on the door continued. With an annoyed huff, he rushed over to the door to pull it open.
"Get the fuck away from my RV!" Shouting at Shane, not even giving him a moment to answer as he smashed the door close again.
"I-I don't know what to do." You admitted in sobs, glancing up at the man as he got closer to you, making space to sit down next to you. A comforting arm found its way around your shoulder while his other hand rubbed your upper arm.
"That man doesn't deserve an angel like you," he whispered at you, hoping his calming voice would soothe your cries. "He clearly doesn't know what he lost with a stupid act like that."
"He proposed to me," you showed him the ring in desperation. "Only to cheat on me?"
"What can I tell ya, kid... young men are...," Dale sighed as he shook his head. "Dumb... and blind. They think they own the world."
You continued to sob in the man's arms. Listening to his soft voice as he spoke to you while you kept on your rambles of despair. Why Lori out of all people? You used to go out on double dates with your partners. You had known Rick Grimes for a good few years now. He was a good man. You had thought Lori was a good woman. But there she went, sleeping with an engaged man. The colleague, and best friend of her husband. Who may or may not be dead. Maybe Rick was gone, but you were still there. Only one partner of the cheating couple was widowed. The other part was still very much in a committed relationship. Or so you thought.
"W-What do I do now?" You wondered out loud. "How am I supposed to continue this?" Not necessarily talking about your relationship with Shane, but the situation altogether.
"You don't." Daryl's simple but straightforward answer made you look up. In the meantime, your sobs had quieted down again.
"What?"
"You tell him," he strictly told you. "You tell him what you saw. And you end it. Men like that... they don't change."
"God...," you fell back into the cushions behind you, running your hands down your face as you wiped the tears away. "Was I just... not good enough for him anymore? Why would he do something like this?"
"I wish I could tell ya, honey. But don't think that this has anythin' to do with you," Dale's stern voice made you glance at him. "Men like him don't think. You think he really thought of the possible consequences of his actions?"
You shrugged.
"He didn't. If he did, he wouldn't have done it. And men like don't deserve a second chance. Hell- they don't even deserve a first chance. But they're charming and whatnot, and before you know it, they're havin' their dicks in other women, breaking hearts of the ones that actually care about them."
You decided to stay quiet, letting his words sink in and register with you.
"You don't deserve that, honey."
Nodding your head, you took a deep breath in, wiping your nose. "I know..." With a sigh, you pushed yourself to stand up. "I have to talk to him."
"You sure, you wanna do that tonight?" The man carefully asked you, but you had already made up your mind, so you just continued to nod.
Quietly, you left the RV, of course not before Dale promised to set up a bed for you to stay in inside his movable home. You knew you had found the confidence to face your- Shane. Yet, your shaking legs and hands almost betrayed you. Realising, you didn't even truly think about how to start the conversation, the anxiety inside of you only started to bubble up more, hitting its highest point when you suddenly saw Shane exiting your tent.
His eyes fixed on you in the dark, finding your silhouette coming towards him thanks to the light shining through the RV's windows.
"Y/N-" he started, but you interrupted him right away.
"It's over."
Shane's eyebrows scrunched together. "What?"
"It's over," you repeated, finding your voice slightly shakier than you would've liked to. You glanced down your hands, almost mindlessly, wrapping your fingers around the gold band. Once, the sight of the shimmering ring on your finger made you smile, now it just shot another wave of sadness through your body. Almost shakingly, you took the last step, pulling the gold band off your finger, the metal leaving your skin, making you breathe out heavily.
"Hey- hey," the sheriff rushed closer to you, making you scoot back in reflex. "What the fuck are you doing?"
"What am I doing?" You spat at him, a salty chuckle tumbling from your lips. There was a slight change in expression on his face as he lifted his hands in defence.
"Listen-"
"No, you listen," you stopped him again. You didn't even let your brain think about what words were about to fall from your lips. "Don't even try-" You had to stop yourself, taking a deep breath in, trying to promise yourself not to cry in front of the man that you had lost so many nerves to.
"What the hell are you doing?" He continued to ask you, his frown only deepening.
But you just continued to shake your head, ignoring the anger starting to lace his voice. You had seen Shane angry before. Even angry at you. And it scared you. But right now, the anger, you were trying to hold back, should terrify everyone involved in this situation.
Taking a few steps closer to stop right in front of him, you lifted your hand that was still tightly holding onto the ring you had once worn and shown off proudly. Once Shane opened his palm underneath it, you let it drop down.
"It's over." Before he could ask you anything more, you left him with one last comment hanging in the air. "Have fun with Lori."
Turning around, you could hear his heavy huffs and the callouts of your name, yet he didn't even dare to try and reach out to you, leaving you to make your way back towards the RV. In the back, the sound of him knocking over some of the empty cans you had gathered, filled the silence. Up ahead, you found a silhouette standing still, almost scaring you if it wasn't for the distinct stance you were able to recognise immediately. The dim light illuminated Daryl's scowl as he had clearly watched the scene from a distance.
Arrived at the door of the vehicle, you wanted to at least send him a tight smile, a goodnight and somewhat of a thank you, but the archer had already disappeared again in his usual nature.

SHANE WALSH (SMUT!) HEADCANONS
(A/N sorry I haven't posted in a long time! I wanted to give you guys something so make up for it, and I've been watching TWD a lot recently and am absolutely inlove with Jon Bernthal 🫶)
Warnings: SMUT!!!, Kinks, Rough!Shane, Hair pulling, bruising/marks, public sex, etc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
• Shane Walsh, the man who would jump at the chance to brat tame you the second you said the words, "make me"
• Shane, the man who would never admit it, but LOVES when you leave his neck full of your lipstick stains, but would immediately punch anyone who would dare point them out.
• That man, Shane, who would dig his fingers so roughly in your hair, he would have you screaming his name
• Oh that man, the man you loved so dearly, and how much love you too could feel when he would tenderly kiss your neck, all the way down to your stomach, making sure no part of you was left untouched.
• The way he would hold you so gently, cherishing every moment, the way that clashes with his rough thrusts he would make into you, each one going deeper each time.
• That same way he would bite down onto your shoulder when he came so deep inside of you, his hold around you tightening ever so slightly
• But even the risk of getting caught only made him even more turned on. What if someone in the group were to see you like this? All ruined just for him, it drives him crazy in all the right ways.
• What rarely would ever faulter was the way he left bruises and hickies all over your body, sometimes even hiding clothes that were longer and easier to hide said marks; making you having to wear the shortest shorts and a tank top after that night he littered marks all over your body, making everyone stare when you walked around camp.
• Even then, that same man, that same Shane, would never even hesitate when you asked him to kiss those same marks, most of the time; doing it without even having to ask. Just feeling his lips against those purplish red marks he made on you, as if making a mental picture in his mind.

“You’re going with me, Shane.”
“Like hell, woman. It’s 9 at night. I’m goin’ t’ sleep.”
“Shane…” you’re giving him those begging eyes, the ones he never could seem to resist. He sucks his teeth and grumbles to himself a little but he reaches for the remote sitting on the coffee table nearby and he shuts off the television. “Okay, alright. Fine. I’m only doin this because you gave me that look.”
You’re grinning, but you’re smart enough to play innocent. “What look?”
“You know what look, woman. You make yer eyes big and you pout.”
“I do not pout, damn it.”
“Do so! Get yer coat.” Shane waves you off but you hug him and he hugs back, the hug breaking with him pressing his lips to your forehead. You rush off to grab your jacket and Shane finds the leather jacket he’d discarded earlier in the mud room out back, sliding it on.
“You’re leavin already, Walsh?”
“Got dragged into goin with your sister t’ the stupid sales.”
“Uh huh, well… Good luck with that, Shane.” Rick chuckles as you walk past him, stopping to hug your older brother. “Are you trying to drive the poor guy crazy, sis?”
“Why?”
“You know how crowded and crazy the sales get.”
“And I know with Shane there, I’m going to get exactly what I wanted to get and get the hell out, hopefully as quick as I can.”
“Says you, the woman who loves to shop.” Shane is teasing and you turn to stick out your tongue. You grab hold of his arm after you’ve grabbed your keys and you’re practically dragging him out the door so he can’t change his mind and come to his senses.
He pauses.
“Shane, c’mon. I’m going to the sales and you’re going with me. I’ve got a bat, we’ll be fine.”
“Woman, why the hell did you bring a bat?”
“Because nobody’s getting their hands on that Zbox thing Carl wants so bad before I get one in mine, damn it.” you answer with a smug look and Shane snickers quietly, correcting you. “It’s an Xbox, darlin. Stop a second, lemme zip yer coat.”
“Hey! I was gonna use my assets to my advantage, sir.”
“Over my dead body, woman. Get in, I’m drivin. If I gotta endure the chaos at the mall over in Slate, ain’t no way in hell I’m going to endure your drivin too.”
“My driving is not that bad.”
“The post at the curb begs to differ, hon. So does that curb.”
“Fuck you, Shane.”
“Hey, now there’s an idea.” Shane’s leaning down to pull your seatbelt over your body and steal a kiss as he laughs, “You an’ me can skip all this black friday nonsense, head on over t’ my place..”
“After you take me to get this stupid Zbox.”
“It’s an Xbox, woman. Pretty sure they won’t have one. They’re sold out all over.”
“There has to be one somewhere and by God, I’m gonna find it.”
“Shit.” Shane grumbles and laughs, shaking his head as he closes the door to your side of the car and walks around, getting into the driver seat…

“If this is someone’s stuff, we should at least leave them some.”
“We need this more than they do. ‘M sure they don’t have a baby or are tryna gear up for a damn war.” The two men continued to ransack your sad excuse of a camp. Guns, knives, canned foods, all gone, shoved into their own bags. You watched them as they continued to rummage through your stuff. You knew you should confront them, but you’ve seen how scary people have become and didn’t want to leave the safety of the tree you were hiding behind.
“Think there’s anythin’ good in that car?”
“Maybe we should jus’ take the whole car.”
You couldn’t just sit by and let them take everything you risked your life to accumulate. Even though your heart was beating a thousand miles a minute and your entire body shook with nerves, you removed the safety off your pistol and stepped out from behind the tree, pointing your weapon at the curly-haired man.
“S-stop stealin’ my stuff!” You ordered, although it sounded more like you were begging.
The men stopped and turned to look at you. They stood with confidence and clearly weren’t afraid of you. That made you even more nervous. The man you had your gun aimed at slowly put his backpack full of your stuff down before raising his arms up in surrender. His partner, however, reached for his own gun.
"Don't!" you shouted, turning your gun on him instead.
"We don't mean any harm, we just saw stuff, so we took stuff," the blue eyed man said. There was something about the way he spoke. Fearless, authoritative. It sent nervous chills down your spine.
"Yeah, so why don't you put down the gun, darlin'," his partner said. His unflinching stance and muscular body gave you the impression that he wasn't one to mess with.
"Tell your friend to put down my stuff and maybe I'll consider it," you bargained.
The man smirked, clearly not taking you seriously. It pissed you off.
"Do ya even know how to use that thing?" Now you were really pissed. You moved your finger to the trigger to fire a warning shot, but the man was on top of you instantly, tackling you to the ground. He grabbed the wrist of your hand containing the gun and slammed it against the ground until you dropped it, ignoring the way you screamed and writhed against him, trying to fight him off. With your gun now in his hold, he shoved it into your temple.
"Shane, wai—"
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't end your fucking life right now," he demanded, cutting his partner off.
You sent a nasty glare his way, but when he didn't relent, you knew he was serious about killing you. You didn't want to show the men any fear, but you couldn't help the way your heart raced or how your eyes burned with tears.
"You said," you swallowed nervously, "You said you have a baby, right? I-I can help! I was a nanny before the world fell. I know how to take care of babies and kids."
He pondered over your words for a moment before clicking the safety back on and yanking you up from the ground.
"I think we should take her back, Rick," the man whose name you learned was Shane said.
The other man, Rick put his hands on his hips before running a hand over his face in thought.
"We already have people back at the prison who take care of Judith. If we take her that's just another mouth to feed," Rick argued.
Prison? Did they have some sort of camp? Having a stable home sounded better than living out of your car and sleeping in a tent.
"Do any of your people know baby first aid and CPR?" you asked. Now you wanted to convince them to bring you back with them. Anything seemed better than what you currently had going on.
Rick and Shane stepped off to the side for a moment, talking in hushed whispers you could barely make out.
"How many walkers have you killed?" Rick asked as they two approached you again.
"I dunno, a lot?" you replied, confused at the question.
"How many people have you killed?"
You sighed, getting tired of his silly interrogation. "Um, two."
"Why?"
This man was really nosey. "Cause they were bit." That's all the detail you were willing to give the man, but he seemed to accept it anyway.
"Fine. We can bring her back," Rick finally agreed. Shane grabbed your upper arm and leaned down to your ear. "If I even think you're gonna try some funny shit, I will kill you." You nodded nervously before snatching your arm from his grasp.
You helped the men load the rest of your stuff into their car -this time you were okay with them taking your stuff since you'd be going back with them- and got into the backseat of their green car.
Tumblr media
When you arrived at the prison and saw that it was actually a prison, you were actually a bit shocked, but you didn't complain. Shelter was shelter and having it was better than not. You followed the men inside, curiously looking around as you did so. An elderly man and a young girl holding a baby sat at a table in the area before the cells. Their guards immediately went up when they saw you walk in behind Rick and Shane.
"Who's this?" the man asked.
"This is...uh," Shane trailed off, not knowing your name, so you quickly told him.
"We found her in the woods. Said she was a nanny, so we brought her back to help out with Judith," he explained as the girl handed him the baby. He smiled down at the baby girl in his arms before pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead.
"Hello, nice to meet y'all," you greeted. They both seemed apprehensive, but returned your greeting nonetheless.
"And nice to meet you!" you said in a quieter, higher pitched voice to the baby in Shane's arms. She couldn't have been more than a few months. It felt strange seeing a baby so young in the middle of the apocalypse. You assumed Shane was the father, considering how he was the one cradling the infant in his arms and not Rick. But who was the mother? You glanced up at the girl. She seemed way too young to be having a baby with Shane.
Her blue eyes met yours. "Oh, um, I'm not her mother," she explained. You could tell by everybody's body language that you shouldn't ask who is, so you kept quiet.
"Can I hold her?" you asked Shane.
He looked at you for a moment, deciding if he wanted to trust you to hold her just yet. He gently placed Judith into your arms, his warm hands brushing yours in the process.
"Hi, baby!" you cooed, overtaken by her cuteness "aren't you jus' the cutest lil' thing!" She just looked at you, not a thought behind her eyes. You couldn't help the way your face split into a gigantic smile. You glanced up at Shane, but he was already looking at you with a ghost of a smile on his face and eyes less cold than they were earlier. You handed him back the baby and he handed it back to the girl before motioning for you to follow him.
He led you through the prison, to a cell you'd be staying in. When the other members of his group saw you and demanded answers, with authority present in his tone, Shane told them you were here for his daughter and here to stay, leaving no room for questions. Even if they didn't seem to agree with his choice, they didn't say anything. You sat on your cot. It wasn't the most comfortable, but it was heaven compared to the dirt.
"Thanks for bringing me here," you said looking down at your shoes.
"Better uphold your end of the deal or else I'll turn you loose and leave you for dead."
What a warm welcome.
Tumblr media
In the week or so that passed, everyone started to warm up to you, especially Shane. At first, you suspected he was hovering because he didn't fully trust you with Judith, but when he hung around you, even during the times you were without Judith, you started to suspect he liked being in your company. And his wasn’t that bad either.
“Hey there,” you greeted as you approached him with baby Judith in your arms. He stood in the watchtower, having been in there keeping watch the night before. The bright, early morning sun shone on him, making his brown eyes glow. He smiled happily at his daughter before smiling at you too.
“What’re y’all doin’ up so early?” He asked, taking Judith from you and cradling her in his arms.
“The little one was hungry, had to get up and feed her.”
“Have you eaten yet?” He asked you. You nodded your head.
“Why don’t you go get yourself somethin’ to eat?” His voice was laced with genuine care, which shocked you. He hasn’t shown too much care for anyone in the short time you’ve been here.
“What about you, you’ve been up here all nigh. Surely you’re hungry?” He handed you Judith and turned you around, gently nudging you toward the exit.
“Mornin’, Beth,” you said cheerly as you helped yourself to a granola bar. You though about it for a second before grabbing one for Shane too.
“Hey,” she replied.
“Do you mind watching Judith for a bit? Gotta do somethin’ real quick?” She agreed and happily took the baby in her arms.
You hurried back to the watch tower and thankfully, Shane was still in there.
“What’re you doin’ back in here? Thought I told you to go eat?”
“You’re not the boss of me,” you teased as you tossed him the granola bar. He smirked and caught the bar. You took a seat, leaning against the wall as you ate your breakfast. He looked at you as if to ask what you you were doing.
“ ‘M keepin’ you company,” you stated matter of factly. He didn’t argue with you and instead sat down next to you. You wanted to remind him that he was to be keeping watch, but decided against it, afraid it might push him away. The two of you ate in silence for a bit, too hungry to avert attention from the food.
“Judith seems to like you,” he commented.
“Well, I’d hope so, since I’m her nanny,” you joked. He chucked before responding. “You take such good care of her.”
You smiled at him. “Least I could do since y’all took me in… even though you tried to rob me and threaten my life.” Despite the truth to your words, there was a joking tone to your voice. He looked a bit guilty.
“We were just,” he took a moment to gather his words, “I had to-”
“’S fine, I get it,” you said, slightly relieving him of his guilt. “I’ve had to do some things I didn’t wanna to survive.”
“Haven’t we all.” You were grateful that he didn’t try to pry too much into your life, but you wouldn’t have minded sharing had he asked anyway. You rested your head on his shoulder -much like you did to your friends before the dead started rising- and he let you stay there.
“I better get back to Judith,” you said after a few minutes.
“And I gotta change shifts.” The two of you parted ways, but not before he thanked you for the granola bar.
You found Beth again. She was in a cell with Maggie who was feeding Judith. She handed you the baby and her bottle so you could take over feeding her. The sisters said their goodbyes before leaving the cell, leaving you and Judith behind. She was almost done with the bottle before you heard the faint sound of gunshots. You tensed up, clutching Judith close to you.The gunshots picked up, making you wonder if you should go and see what’s going on. You looked down at the baby dozing off in your arms. You couldn’t just leave her in here alone. The prison was virtually empty with nobody else to watch her. You chose to stay, even though the guilt of doing nothing ate away at you.
After what felt like forever, the shooting finally stopped. You breathed a sigh of relief. Loud footsteps rapidly approached before Shane appeared in the doorway. He was sweaty, out of breath, and clutching his side.
“Came to check on you two, everything alright?” He asked, worriedly.
“Yeah, she’s fine, everything’s fine,” you replied, eager to ask what it was that happened.
“Are you alright?” Concern flashed in his eyes.
You nodded. “What happened out there? Is everyone okay?”
“It was the Governor, killed one of the prisoners and tried to take out everyone else too.”
You looked away from his eyes and down to the hand clutching his side. Blood was starting to leak between his fingers. Your heart dropped.
“Shane, did you get shot?” You asked sternly, hoping he wouldn’t lie.
“Just a graze, I’ll be fine.” You put a sleeping Judith in her crib before approaching the man.
“Lemme patch you up.”
“It’s just a graze,” he insisted.
You sighed and looked up at him which forced him to look at you. “I know you just brought me here to take care of Judith, but I wanna take care of you too.” He let out a sigh and finally relented. You smiled up at him before scurrying off to fetch some medical supplies.
When you came back, he was sitting on the cot, still clutching his wound with a pained look on his face. When he heard you come in, he sat up straighter and put that stoic look back on his face.
“You don’t have to act all tough for me,” you teased. You doused a towel with some rubbing alcohol before kneeling in front of him. He couldn’t look you in the eyes as he lifted his shirt to give you access to the wound. It seemed to have stop bleeding, so you gently cleaned the wound before putting a bandage on it.
“See, really wasn’t that big a deal,” he said with a teasing smirk on his face.
“Still had me worried, though.” You stood up and tidied the mess of medical supplies.
“Don’t gotta worry ‘bout me, I can handle it.”
You knew he could, but the thought of losing him scared you. You leaned down and pressed a tender kiss to his cheek.
“Just don’t want Judith losin’ her daddy is all.” He sighed and looked up to the ceiling in thought.
“Thank you,” he said.
“No problem.”
“No, not just for this. For taking care of Judith and for taking care of me.” You sat beside him and slipped your hand through his.
“Always.”

Caution: contents hot
Shane Walsh x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: A little coffee accident has you meeting Deputy Walsh. Rating: T (for now) // WC: 1,3k Warnings: None, except that it's a totally silly plot 😅. A/N: I wrote this a couple weeks ago, and I might just write the smut to it at some point. I just felt like posting this now, since it ends on a “good” part.
Tumblr media
Finally, after standing in line for ages, you made it out of the coffee shop with your precious hot drink in hand and headed straight for your car. You weren’t in any particular hurry, but you’d had a long day at work and wanted to enjoy that drink before driving over to the grocery store. Sitting in an overcrowded coffee shop didn’t appeal to you, however, and that’s why you chose to simply return to your car to relax in peace.
Arriving at the car, you placed the cup on the roof and rummaged through your purse to find the keys. Meanwhile, a dark pickup pulled into the space next to yours, forcing you closer against your car as you kept searching. After finally locating the damn keys and pulling them out for a second to press the unlock button, you reached for the cup again, intending to open the driver’s door.
And that’s when everything happened very quickly.
Since you had backed up into the parking space and the pickup had driven into its own spot the other way around, both driver’s sides ended up next to the other. The person in the pickup had just opened the door to get out, while you took a step back as you did the same, only to get inside yours. Except that this step backwards had you tripping over the person’s feet, and in your flailing while you grasped for something to hold on to to stop your fall, you let go of the cup, which went flying back. As you caught yourself on the edge of the half open door of your car, you knew where the contents of your drink had landed from the loud cry of surprise and hiss of pain coming from behind you a second later.
Letting go of the door after regaining your balance, you whipped around to find a man in a police uniform pulling at his drenched shirt to get the fabric away from his skin.
“Oh — Oh my God. I'm so sorry… Shit, shit, Shit. I'm so, so sorry, sir. Are — are you — are you okay?” you gasped out, worry and embarrassment making your face burn hot.
“I… kinda. I-” he grunted, before you realized how stupid your question was and kept talking.
“No, of course you’re not fine. I just poured scalding coffee all over you… I really am so sorry. I-”
“No, yeah, I’m — shit — I'm okay,” he groaned, wincing as he pulled at the fabric over his chest.
“Really? You sure? ‘Cause — you know, you don’t really look —  shit, maybe if-”
Not thinking at all in your panic, you took a step closer to him and quickly undid three of the uniform buttons to pull the shirt away from his skin.
“We need to see how badly you got burnt, maybe you need-” You suddenly stopped in your frantic rambling and stilled your hands as you realized what you were doing; standing in the man's space, with your hands holding his shirt wide open.
Letting go of him as if you’d been burnt yourself and springing away from him, you lifted your wide-eyed gaze from the man’s chest and towards his face. Which didn’t help you articulate any words, either, as his features finally hit you. Not only did you shower and burn a police officer with your drink, but you also had to embarrass yourself by almost undressing an incredibly good-looking police officer.
“I’m… so sorry,” you breathed. “I just…”
To your surprise, the man’s lips slowly pulled up into a smile. It wasn’t a mocking smile, but an amused one, which had you relaxing a tad.
“It’s okay,” he said gently, tilting his head to one side as he ducked his face slightly to look at you curiously from under his brows.
Your eyes fell to his chest as he did the same, and you grimaced at the reddening skin.
“This has to be painful, though,” you mumbled, holding your hand back from reaching out again.
He uttered a small bark of a laugh and nodded his head from side to side as he opened the shirt the rest of the way. Since your eyes were already on his chest, they instantly took in the rest of his torso without you being able to stop yourself.
“Uh, yeah, kinda, yeah. But…” He shrugged as he trailed off.
Your eyes snapped back to his face as your neck heated again with another form of embarrassment.
“I can go into the pharmacy and grab you, like, a cream or salve or something,” you interrupted, desperate to make it better.
“Nah, it’s fine. I got what I need at home. Thankfully, you hit me just when I was gettin’ off my shift and not on,” he laughed.
You cringed at the reminder.
“I’m really sorry. I didn’t expect to be this close to you and-”
“Hey, hey, it’s alright, okay? Shit happens.” He put a hand on your arm and leaned in slightly to look you in the eyes with a sincere expression.
“Still,” you breathed, his proximity making you slow with coming up with a reply. “I’d like to make it up to you.”
At your words, the man’s eyes slid to your lips, which had your eyes going wide again in surprise, since he deliberately brought his eyes back to yours very slowly.
“You don’t have to,” he assured you in a low tone that had a shiver running down your spine.
“But I want to,” you insisted, swallowing at how his eyes went from your mouth to your eyes again at the statement, this time quickly. “The dry cleaning. Let me pay for it? Can’t be cheap to clean a police uniform, right?”
The man contemplated you, as you forced yourself not to look at his gorgeous body, the dips of his hips that were visible in your peripherals calling to you. He slowly grinned and took a step towards you, which had you automatically taking a step back and colliding with your back against the side of your car. He put a hand on the roof of your car as he leaned in.
“If you really wanna make it up to me, then how ‘bout you join me for dinner?”
It took you a second to understand his suggestion. You stared at him, surprised. Was that really happening? Was he coming on to you? Just like that, in the middle of a parking lot? After you'd injured him, no less. And you hadn't even exchanged names.
“I have one condition,” you found yourself answering to your own shock.
The man smiled slowly and lifted an expectant eyebrow.
“Shoot.”
“Dinner’s on me.”
He clearly hadn't expected that, since he blinked once before he grinned and began laughing. He leaned in that bit closer, which almost had him in kissing distance. “Deal.”
“Okay… good.”
He didn't move, though, which had your heart racing and your eyes going from his lips to his eyes. When he finally did pull away, he only gave you enough space to get your door open. It was as you stared at him that you saw the name tag dangling from his open shirt.
“Be at my place in an hour… Deputy Walsh.”
You enjoyed his look of surprise, before he glanced down at the tag with a chuckle.
“Shane,” he revealed, and stared back at you expectantly, but you only got into your car with a small smile.
“The car is registered under my name,” you hinted, as you got the window down to talk to him.
Shane ran his tongue over his front teeth as he watched you with amused interest. It thrilled you to have this attention on you. Not waiting for a reply, you put your car into drive and drove out of the parking space. As you slowly made your way down the aisles of cars, you saw Shane writing something down on a notepad.

Tumblr media
Shane comes up onto the porch, his boots thumping against each step. He stops, standing in front of you, watching you for a moment as you sew a button onto one of Dale’s shirts.
The button was near-silver in color, whereas the shirt was white, but it’d been the closest match you could find in the collection of them Maggie had let you sift through a little while ago. So, silver it was.
You look up to him, his hands on his hips, a small smirk on his lips as he watches you with mild interest.
You raise a brow slightly.
“This seat taken?” He asks, nodding to the rocking chair beside you.
You shake your head and he sits.
He leans back. “You the camp seamstress now?”
“There’s always work to be done. Even if it’s just fixing a shirt.”
“Dale can’t do that himself?” He asks, his tone not betraying the mild dislike it seemed he’d recently developed toward the man. You couldn’t understand what had occurred between the two to cause such a sudden rift, but you didn’t bother asking, either. None of your business and not your problem.
That was the issue with near-everyone in this camp: dealing with walkers and supplies constantly dwindling, then needing to be replenished—if not the occasional injury or loss of life—wasn’t enough. No, they needed to further their problems by causing more with others by sticking their noses where they didn’t belong, nor where they were wanted. And that included Shane.
More than included him, perhaps. At least at times.
But he’d always been kind to you. Helpful. Not that you didn’t know why: you pulled your weight. You hardly ever stopped working, really. Because when you did take a break, that allowed your mind to wander. Not that it didn’t anyway, but at least this way you were always exhausted at bedtime, so there was no opportunity for you to dwell on troublesome thoughts when it was quiet and dark and you had nothing else to think about than the horrors you’d endured. The losses you’d suffered.
Finally, you shrug, continuing to sew. “I don’t mind.”
Shane leans back. “Somethin’s on your mind.”
You look at him and he continues. “I can tell. Not very good at hiding it. At least not from me.”
You pull through the last bit of thread, then snip, setting the shirt and sewing materials on the small table settled between both your seats.
“I’m fine.”
He sits back, rocking in his chair. “Heard that before. And it was a load of bullshit then just like it is right now. So, you want to give me the truth, or am I going to have to break out Officer Shane to get it out of you?”
You glance to him and he has a playful smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye, but you don’t laugh.
“Just thinking about my bucket list.”
His smile disappears. “That somethin’ I need to be worried about: that you’re thinkin’ like that?”
You settle back in your seat, bringing your left leg up, bending it at the knee, resting your foot on the seat as your other continues to push against the floorboards of the porch, gently rocking the chair. You face him, back turned toward the front door behind you. “No.”
He sighs, shaking his head. “You have to give me more than that.”
You’d expressed a loss of will to live to him weeks ago at the quarry, but had stated the only reason you bothered to keep breathing was due to the unknown of what death—caused particularly by suicide—would hold. And then you had considered staying at the CDC with Jackie and Jenner, but he’d talked you out of it, pulling you along beside him—his hand holding so firmly to yours you were sure he’d dislocate your shoulder as he pulled you along—out of that building. Then he’d covered your body with his as the building exploding, sending debris in every direction.
After, as you traveled the highway, he’d—every now and again—rest his palm over your knee. A reassuring touch that you weren’t alone was all it had been; you had no doubt about that. Just innocent bodily contact.
Once the group was stranded at the highway, though, that sense of fear you’d felt watching the CDC burn had calmed. Your will to live dissipating once more. As you scavenged abandoned vehicles for supplies, you didn’t even think to use any of it to keep yourself on your feet.
And then you’d collapsed from dehydration. You’d woken up in Dale’s RV, Shane holding a bottle of water to your lips…begging you to wake up, cursing you for being just one more person to try and leave him. That he wouldn’t let you.
He may’ve been understanding of your behavior, but he’d not been pleased that you’d nearly died…again. He’d made as much clear. Had made you promise to be smarter in the future. To think before doing. To take better care of yourself going forward, or he would do it for you. And he assured you that you did not want Shane Walsh as your designated baby-sitter.
Neither of you had discussed the things he’d whispered to you in the RV that day when he’d thought you unconscious. You knew that he knew you’d heard some of it, but neither of you were going to acknowledge the soft, desperate words he’d uttered while pressing a cool cloth to your forehead, his hands shaking out of fear that you'd slip away.
In truth, you couldn’t understand it: why he cared so damn much what happened to you. He so often implied that he had no patience, nor need for the weak. And that’s what you were, weren’t you? Then again, he’d told you more than once how he admired how much of a hard-worker you were, even if it’d gotten you in trouble with him more than once now, because perhaps you’d been working too hard… Just a few times, though.
And now you were here, working yourself to the bone again, just like you’d done at the previous camp. You clearly never learn your lesson.
Finally, you sigh. “If I do, you have to promise to keep it to yourself. And that…that you won’t laugh or mock me.”
“I give you my word,” he states, eyes not leaving you.
You nervously wrap your hands around your bent knee, not looking at him. You felt so stupid even thinking it. The fact you were about to say it out loud? Even worse.
“Given the current state of things—not just the world, but right here with all of us—I want you to know that I know just how stupid and selfish I’m about to sound.” You look up to him. “It’s why I planned to keep it to myself. It’s not the sort of thing you share with others.”
He doesn’t speak, just continues to listen, waiting for you to give him the answer to the mystery of what had seemed to be on your mind all day.
“I’m also about to sound incredibly cliché.” You internally cringe before finally speaking it aloud. “I don’t want to die a virgin.”
You don’t look at him when you admit it. “I don’t mean that in some ignorant I-just-want-to-finally-get-laid kind of way. I just…I just wanted to know what it felt like to have that with someone; that experience.”
You look at him, tears shimmering in your eyes. “I thought I’d have more time. I wanted to do things ‘the right way’. I wanted to fall in love, get married—and, yes, I know how old-fashioned that sounds—but I thought I’d one day get that opportunity. Now? Now I just wish I’d done it. Gone to a bar, gone home with some stranger, and gotten it over with. But it still wouldn’t have been the way I wanted it to be. Now I just wish it could be, at the very least, with someone I care about. And if I’m lucky, they’ll care about me, too. If not?” You shrug.
You expect him to at least give you a look which insinuates that you were being ridiculous to be thinking about such things. Such frivolous and literally useless things. Sex. That was what you were thinking about lately. Not food, or water, or ammunition, or literally anything that would help to keep you all alive.
You were thinking about something that just…didn’t matter. Not anymore.
But he doesn’t give you such a look. Instead, you find understanding in his eyes. “I don’t think it’s any of those things you said at all: stupid or cliché or selfish. Hell I…I get it, y’know. It’s one of those things—life experiences. Somethin’ most of us want to have at some point. Not everybody cares whether it’s with a stranger or the love of their life, but some do. Nothin’ wrong with that. I’m not judging you for wantin’ that.”
A tear slips down your cheek at his understanding, which you quickly wipe away. In truth, it wasn’t just about being intimate with someone. It all came down to just how utterly lonely you were. How desperately you wished to have someone of your own.
But that wasn’t going to happen now. Not in this new world.
You couldn’t just bump into someone in the grocery store or meet someone online now.
Now… This was your life now. And you needed to live with that.
You’re both quiet for a moment, the only sound the crackling of the campfire a few feet away, clanging of dishes being washed after the last of the camp finishes up their supper, some idle chatter coming from inside the farmhouse, and crickets and frogs singing as a choir of the forest.
Until Shane speaks. And what he says next takes you completely by surprise. “I’ll have sex with you.”
Your head shoots up and in his direction. Your eyes widen, but he quickly holds his hands up in a gesture which says ‘let me explain first’.
“I don’t mean it in that kind of way, as in ‘you’re wanting to get screwed, and I think I’m the man for the job’, which really translates to me just wantin’ to get lucky. You want more than that—something deeper and…and actually meaningful, I mean. Like I said: I get it. You want someone who cares about you, and…hell, you know I do. Saved your life more than once, as I recall, at that,” he says with a smile. “I just…it’s somethin’ for you to think about, I guess. That I’m willin’ if you are.”
You’re left speechless for a moment. He’d offered himself up so easily that it made you wonder if he’d thought about this before. Being with you in that way, that is.
You glance over to the campsite, Lori and Rick talking amongst themselves, Carl having already gone to bed. You then look back to him and speak lowly. “Lori wouldn’t get jealous?”
He shifts uncomfortably. “I don’t know what you-”
You cut him off. “Please, Shane, spare me. I may be quiet and keep to myself, but I’m not blind. I’m nothing if not observant. I’m not judging you, either. Either of you. You both thought Rick was dead; you were grieving and scared. And you were all the other had. You were already practically family to one another.” He remains quiet. “I get it, Shane. I just…I’m not willing to give myself to a man who’s in love with someone else. I’m sorry, but thank you for the offer.”
He nods, refusing to meet your eyes now, perhaps out of shame.
You pick up Dale’s shirt, ready to give it back to him now that it’d been tended to, but Shane speaks again. “Anybody else know?”
You shake your head. “I don’t think so. Or, if they do, they haven’t shared as much with me. Not that I talk much to everyone here to begin with, I suppose,” you say with a small laugh, fairly devoid of humor. “And you don’t need to worry about me telling anyone, either.”
“I know that,” he says, reaching over to rest his hand on your thigh.
You stand, then, heading over to the RV.
Meanwhile, Shane’s eyes never leave you.

Bad choices don't necessarily make you a bad person as long as those choices don't hurt other people, you’ve always believed.
What you’re about to do might take you to cross that hypothetical line that kept you from considering yourself a bad person. But after all the events that led you to this point, you don’t give a flying fuck. You've been hurt too often by other people's choices that it's your turn to make something so incredibly reckless that will royally piss some people off… Like sleeping with Shane Walsh.
“Are you completely sure you wanna do this?”
“Are you?”
You ask each other, half naked, in the back of his cruiser before proceeding any further with your plan.
Too hot and bothered to back out now, with no regrets, you nod and seize his mouth as he opens his buckle and zipper to seal the deal you made about getting back at your respective duplicitous exes.
It all started a few weeks ago when you caught Shane's girlfriend cheating on him with your ex-boyfriend. She wasn't just his girlfriend, but she was also one of your best friends, in fact. Not only did she manage to break Shane's heart, but she violated an unspoken friendship code and the common sense of not hooking up with your friend's in the process.
Regardless of you and your ex being broken up before that day, – discovering their filthy lie was a low blow that still hurts like hell.
Blinded by rage, after being witness to that moment of indiscretion, you picked up the phone, called Shane, and spared no detail about what just had happened. Someone had to, cause that hag wasn’t going to do it, and he deserved to know. Admittedly, you were never Shane's biggest fan to begin with, but you felt sorry for him. For what you knew, he was completely in love with your friend, and he was just something to toy with cause she had nothing better to do. That’s how she always treated guys, and up until that day, you never said anything cause you had your own stuff to deal with, and you were never the one to stick your nose where it didn’t belong, but it was about time for her to get a taste of her own medicine.
A few days later, you found out that Shane had beat the crap out of your ex. The deputy was arrested and released the day after, and indefinitely suspended from the department.
Two weeks after his arrest, you stumbled upon him at the grocery store in the evening, and he looked miserable trying to pick up between the amount of cereal boxes along the aisle.
“I like Cocoa Puffs,” you pointed at the box in one of the lower shelves to break the ice.
He sighed and glanced at you, “yeah, I like those too. I was just in the mood for something else… any suggestions?”
“Hm, cinnamon toast is my second favorite.”
He considered it for a second before reaching and grabbing a box of those per your suggestion. Then you both continued shopping on your own.
Later, you saw him at the parking lot after loading your groceries in your car.
“Hey,” you stopped by his truck while he put his bags on the flatbed, “I just wanted to say I’m sorry about what happened.”
“Why?” he scoffed, “wasn’t your fault, darlin’. You didn’t sleep with her, didn’t you?”
“No, but it wasn’t my place to tell.”
“Maybe it wasn’t, but I’m glad you did.”
“How so?”
“I don’t know,” his head sank into his shoulders quickly, “I guess cause you were hurt by it too, and you went straight to the cold, hard facts. That took guts.”
“I was a little harsh.”
“You weren’t. I always thought you were a pushover, y’know? But you proved me wrong.”
“Ouch. I always thought you were an asshole,” you quipped back, leaning against his car.
“Sometimes I am, but I’d never cheat on anyone,” he admitted, honestly. “Look, it’s no secret that I like sleeping around, but when I’m in a relationship– I’m a hundred percent in.”
“Are you guys getting back together?”
He scoffed, and gave it a thought, “would you consider getting back with your ex after that?”
You shook your head.
“I didn't think so. Me neither. I'm done with her. She's like the fucking antichrist.”
“It suits her,” you laughed softly at his chosen nickname.
“You should've heard the things she said about you.”
“Save it, I don't need to know,” you paused. “Are you gonna be okay with your job and all?”
“Yeah,” he ran a hand over his hair, “I think I will.”
After parting that evening, you started texting from time to time. You were never that close, but something clicked that day between you two in that little exchange that led you to this particular night when you bumped into the other once more.
You were hanging with a couple of friends after work at your local bar when the bartender brought you a complimentary beer from a guy sitting at the counter. You glanced over your shoulder and saw the deputy back in his uniform, tilting his beer bottle in your direction. You beckoned him, and he joined your little group.
Quickly, you started talking and joking about getting back at both your exes somehow. You were both still bitter about it, and of course it kept coming up in all your conversations.
At first, you thought it was a joke when Shane suggested you should sleep together to even things out.
An eye for an eye and all – he said.
You and Shane, sleeping together? It was the most absurd idea someone’s ever had. It made you burst into laughter initially; but as the night progressed, it made more sense. It’s a fitting punishment for a treacherous crime, you deemed.
Halfway into making up your mind, you glanced at Shane once more when he strutted out of the bathroom with his uniform shirt half unbuttoned, showing a black tee underneath well hugged around his chest. To be honest, he isn’t completely gross physically. You've always found him hot. It’s the way he sometimes talks that has kept you from seeing that he’s actually sweet as well.
Once he got back to the table, you bit your lower lip and tilted your head in the direction of the door, conveying silently with just one look – I need to be railed by you, right now. I don’t care if it’s right or wrong.
He quickly grasped it and took your hand as he licked the corner of your mouth before guiding you out towards the car.
You couldn't blame it on the alcohol because you barely took a couple of sips of your beer. It was the dangerous determination in Shane's eyes, boring nothing but dark lust and vengeance, that convinced you. You’ve never seen him like that, and you're still not sure if it’s all about revenge or that he actually likes you. You wouldn't hold it against him if it was a bit of both, cause that’s exactly how you feel right now in this unrehearsed dance of ripping each other’s clothes, clawing each other’s skin, and mauling each other’s mouth in the confined space of the backseat of the cruiser, parked on the side of the road, away from prying eyes.
It’s thrilling to have that rush of adrenaline coursing through your veins, knowing that you’re doing something so wrong, but so rightfully earned, and not giving a damn about it.
A whole new world opens right in front of your eyes, and right between your legs when you stop kissing him to sink onto his cock for the first time. You shudder at how big he feels once he’s fully sheathed inside your slickness. He’s hard as rock and big enough to fill and stretch your walls a little more than you're used to.
“Go on, sweetheart,” he can barely get those words out, as your hips slowly wave back and forth.
As you get used to the generous size of his erection filling you up to the hilt, he presses his parted lips against yours.
Unexpectedly, you both thrive and savor every second of it as you explore and seek that ultimate pleasure that comes from your bodies tangled together.
“God, you feel so good,” you purr on his lips, hands clutched to his neck; having his large palms holding your ass, aiding your moves as you switch to bouncing uncontrollably on his lap.
“Not as good as you, darlin’,” he groans, breathlessly, “you’re so fucking wet.”
Then, his tongue juts out and traces the shape of your mouth before devouring your lips like a maniac, stealing your moans and hums. If you’re desperate, he’s viciously focused on sucking the life out of you with great vehemence. His delicious kisses and grunts muddle your mind, and you can barely keep your thoughts straight as you inch closer to that aching point where your legs strain to keep going.
“Fuck, sweetheart, just a little more,” he pants, barely pulling away from your lips, “please, please, keep going for me.”
Holding on tight to him, you exert yourself a little longer as your hips roll with reckless abandon until that bomb made out of pure pleasure, expanding at your core, explodes. Your body shivers and your mind turns to mush, gladly overtaken by a wave of electric joy that awakens every cell of your body from head to toe. And right after you come, the wild pressure of your opening contracting around him has Shane spurting his seed inside you in a matter of seconds.
To be completely honest, there was never anything greater between your legs than Shane Walsh, you come to realize. As uncomfortable as the car is, it’s barely a nuisance below how amazing that orgasm is. How your once-friend would ever give that up is beyond you.
Slowly coming back to your senses, you sweetly smile, noticing that your forehead is pressed to Shane’s shoulder as his chest rises and falls under your palms.
There isn’t a sliver of guilt or shame after you’re done and put your clothes back on. The only thing that’s new is a desire of not wanting this night to be over, so when the deputy drives you home, you invite him for a second round.
“Too bad they’ll never know what we did,” you express, relaxing on top of Shane’s broad chest, with your hand under your chin, like it was the most casual thing you’ve ever done since you met him.
“But we do,” he smiles tiredly, “did it make you feel better?”
“Uh-hm. That was the point, right? Do you feel better?”
“Yeah, sweetheart, I do,” his fingers brush your cheek, pulling you for a chaste kiss before shifting on the bed and having you on your back against the mattress as he slithers down your body, pushing your knees apart to have a little taste of you. You fix a pillow under your head as the adventurous tip of his tongue traces every inch of your sex, slowly. His arms curl around your thighs, as you weave your fingers in his curls, quietly enjoying the mind-blowing attention of the tip of his tongue when it circles your clit. He teases it, flicks it, and licks it before allowing his lips to wrap around it. Lazily sucking that bundle of nerves, he delivers a pleasant buzz that runs all over your body, and earns himself a new symphony of hums, moans, and curses at his name.
As your mind reaches cloud nine for a third time, the delicious pressure of his lips changes, sucking harder and harder, until you’re met with a calming relief once the orgasm hits.
Shane climbs back up to the head of the bed and presses his slick-covered lips against yours, his tongue slipping past your lips, so you can have a taste of yourself, reminding you that payback never tasted sweeter.
