If Star Trek were a person I’d tell it how much it has meant to me across the years.
I would thank it for always providing me with a new, different perspective, even if at the time I didn’t understand it or accept it.
I would give thanks for always reminding me that the future will be whatever words and actions we invest into those around us every day.
I would give them thanks for uplifting inspiration in all arts, from cinema to cartooning, writing, painting and music.
I would thank them for keeping me and a great many others for looking forward to something even when things everywhere look dismal. (It has literally saved my life and this is the first time I’ve ever said it.) I would say that no matter how my life comes to a close, I will be forever grateful to all the talents on screen and off for making me feel that things will be okay.
But have ya ever joined a existing fandom- a community that’d been around… since before you were even born by a decade or more… and suddenly find yourself in the fandom- And- and it’s not you’ve been part of it for years- as long as these other people who have been children and now are becoming GRANDPARENTS themselves…
And yet- you feel YOU FEEL like you’ve waited just as long as these people have for this one THIS ONE moment to finally happen? That you’ve been through what these other people feel? That you can chant and hug and scream and yell and cry with these people cuz it feels HUST AS IMPORTANT and emotional to you like you’ve been waiting 30 years too?
Because that’s what I’ve been soo happy about- it took 30 years for this one thing to happen and I feel I’ve been there since that too and Ute I. Only got into the fandom 5-6 years ago and yet- it feels like I’ve been waiting even longer than that, like I can feel where they are coming from
BECAUSE THEY HAVE BROIGTH HER VACK, THEY BROUGHT THE ENTERPRISE D BACK BITCHES IM SOO GODAMN HAPPY UM CRYINF AGAINNNNN
👽 #StarTrek 👽 #NCC1701
Y'all seemed to like the Enterprise F post so here is one of my old designs.
Yep before I drew trains I drew starships. The 3d model is by the amazing QuantumDesignsAZ. Any videos of my designs on there use my deadname bc I had yet to figure any of that out lol.
The Midway Verse was my AU of the Kelvin Timeline. Here is the lore for the Hero ship herself: The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701. If I ever revisit the world I would rework it.
Presenting my redesign of the Kelvin Timeline constitution, the Midway subclass. 334m in length, the Midway variant of the Constitution class cruiser is the culmination of the data recovered from the U.S.S. Kelvin. Starfleet's current flagship, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 is a member of this subclass. The data recovered from the Kelvin has allowed for significant advancements in practically all systems including; warp drive, shield generation, and weapon systems. These changes were so extensive that the original concept of the class had to be reworked to the point the new ships were deemed the new Midway subclass. Perhaps most unique is the new defensive system. The Projectile Countermeasure Launchers act in a similar role to flares on historical combat aircraft. The eight launchers on the dorsal stardrive fire small canisters made of the same material as the ships warp coils and filled with excited warp plasma from the drive nacelles. The plasma agitates the miniature coils, creating a similar energy signature to the warp drive of the midway subclass. Most projectiles with tracking capabilities lock onto a vessels warp signature first due to the relatively high radiation emitted by most warp nacelles. It is hoped that firing the canisters up past the nacelles will disrupt the warp signature of the ship enough to cause any projectile weapon such as used to attack the U.S.S. Kelvin to lock onto one of the eight canisters rather than the vessel.
This is pretty much accepted as the best-looking version of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701. The version that appeared in movies I-VI, designed by Andrew Probert
He also designed the Enterprise-D from The Next Generation
Now I'm minding my own buisness on Twitter and scroll upon this:
And... a little bit of my childhood just died. Horribly.
